The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.
The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.
On January 30, there were 78 combat clashes. The enemy launched 5 missile strikes and 63 air strikes and carried out 39 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential private and apartment buildings, a school and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.
Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Leonivka (Chernihiv oblast), Popivka (Sumy oblast), Ustynivka (Kharkiv oblast). Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 6 assaults in the vicinities of Terny and Yampolivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area the adversary made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novoiehorivka, Serebrianka forestry (Luhansk oblast) and Terny (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Yampolivka, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks in the vicinities of Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers, with air support, made attempts to improve their tactical situation. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Niu York (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 attacks near Avdiivka and 9 more attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the occupiers made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense, to no success. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Ocheretyne, Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Orlivka, Avdiivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars more than 15x settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sjeverne, Nevelske (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the enemy, with air support, made 14 unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical situation. Thus, on the Solodke-Kostiantynivka axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy assault, during which the enemy deployed 12 armoured vehicles. Following the battle, 2 tanks, 6 MT-LB multi-purpose armoured vehicles and 1 BMP infantry fighting vehicle were destroyed. Having received a worthy rebuff, the occupiers suffered significant losses and retreated. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Heorhiivka, Pobjeda, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka were under artillery and mortar fire.
Towards Shakhtarske, the invaders conducted no offensives. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Staromaiorske and Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Zolota Nyva (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Zaporizhzhia, the russian army conducted no offensives. The occupiers launched an airstrike near Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). More than 15 settlements, including Poltavka, Chervone, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia oblast).
Towards Kherson,Odesa operational-strategic group, the russian army fired artillery at the city of Kherson, the settlements of Vesele, Kozatske, Ivanivka, Dniprovske, and Stanislav (Kherson oblast). The invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Kachkarivka and Chervonyi Maiak (Kherson oblast).
The occupiers have not abandoned their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the enemy made 13 unsuccessful assaults on positions of Ukrainian troops.
The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 11 buildups of troops, weapons and military equipment, 2 air defense systems of the occupiers.

Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, says that every day, russia continues to shell the territory of Ukraine within Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv oblasts. Since the beginning of this year, almost a month in fact, there have been more than 1,900 attacks from russia’s territory with a variety of weapons: artillery, mortars, but also other means, including aircraft.
Anastasia Malynka, the association’s information manager, says that the Freerights Human Rights Association, which has been documenting russia’s war crimes on the territory of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, has recorded 432 cases of torture of Ukrainian citizens committed by the occupiers in Ukraine over the past year and a half. One case can include torture of one person or ten or more people, so it is difficult to establish the exact number of victims. In particular, 128 cases of torture were recorded in Kherson oblast, 119 in Kyiv oblast, 76 in Kharkiv oblast, 34 in Zaporizhzhia oblast, 28 in Chernihiv oblast, 15 in Sumy oblast, 12 in Mykolaiv oblast, 10 in Donetsk oblast, 6 in Luhansk oblast, and 4 in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
11 attacks were repelled towards Lyman-Kupiansk. Volodymyr Fito, Head of public relations of the Ground Forces Command, noted that 289 russian servicemen were eliminated and two more captured yesterday.
The enemy actively used fighter and bomber aircraft as they dropped guided aerial bombs and attacked from fire support helicopters. The invaders tried to send 38 kamikaze drones at Ukrainian defenders. The invaders made 679 attacks.
They also destroyed 22 pieces of military equipment. Specifically, a tank, three armoured personnel carriers and one armoured combat vehicle.
Since the beginning of the year, as of 28 January, the enemy has suffered 10,530 casualties in the area of responsibility of Khortytsia operational-strategic group, including 169 tanks, 326 armoured vehicles, 286 cannons and mortars.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that russians struck near Korotych. Windows were broken in several buildings.
Oleksandr Hololobov, Head of Mala Danylivka Village Council, stated that at around 4:30 pm, there were hits in the forest. According to his preliminary data, there were three hits. There were no casualties or destruction.
More than 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including: Huriv Kozachok of Bohodukhiv region, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk of Chuguiv region, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove, Ivanivka of Kupiansk region, etc.
Velykyi Burluk, Khatnie, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Berestove suffered airstrikes.
At 11:40 am, the invaders attacked Velykyi Burluk with multiple rocket launchers. A civilian cheese-producing enterprise was damaged. The shelling damaged windows, doors and walls of the buildings.
At 3:52 pm there was an enemy shelling in Khatnie village. The warehouse building of a civilian enterprise was hit and the roof damaged. There were no casualties.
Around 4 pm, there was a shelling attack in Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv region. The roof and windows of a residential building were damaged. There were no casualties.
At around 11:25 pm, the invaders used at least 6 Shahed UAVs on Zmiiv, Chuhuiv region. A civilian enterprise and private houses were damaged.
Men of 52 and 61 years old were injured, the first one was hospitalised, his condition is average. The latter received medical assistance on the spot.
Ukrainian troops repelled 7 enemy attacks near Synkivka and east of Pishchane.
Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 8.48 hectares of land and destroyed 235 explosive ordnance.
There are no civilians in Tabaivka towards Kupiansk, which invaders wish to occupy, and people have evacuated, while about 50 people living there before the invasion.
The Ukrainian military has already liberated 565 settlements in Kharkiv oblast. Currently, more than 183K people live there, including almost 19K children and more than 11K disabled people. Electricity is available in 397 settlements. Gas networks are also being repaired as they have been damaged and need to be restored. Centralised water supply has been restored in 107 settlements. Currently, 160 healthcare facilities are operating in the pillbox. The first mobile pharmacy in Ukraine was recently opened in Kharkiv oblast. 13 bank branches and 43 ATMs have reopened. As of the end of January, postal services covered 532 settlements. In order to maximise the coverage of de-occupied communities with postal services, it is being optimised by switching from stationary to mobile post offices.
The RMA reported that a woman was killed as a result of shelling in Avdiivka. The russian army struck the city with artillery in the morning of January 30. Private houses and a multi-storey building were damaged.
According to the press service of Donetsk police, 10 settlements were under fire: the cities of Avdiivka, Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, the villages of Ocheretyne and Tsukuryne, and the villages of Lysivka, Maksymilianivka, Novomarkove and Sokil. 68 civilian facilities were damaged, including 41 residential buildings, two educational institutions, a hotel, a motor depot, a bakery and a grain storage facility, an industrial enterprise, a garage, a transport facility, a gas pipeline, and a power line.
According to the RMA, Krasnohorivka, Yelyzavetivka and Maksymilianivka were shelled in Marinka community. In Tsukuryne of Selydove community, 6 houses were damaged, and the outskirts of Kurakhove community were shelled. russia launched four missile attacks on Myrnohrad. A hotel, 2 apartment buildings and 21 private houses, two educational institutions, and three enterprises were destroyed. Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office said that a 38-year-old man was killed as a result of shelling in Myrnohrad. He was riding his bike home from work. A woman in her 50s was also wounded.
Towards Kramatorsk, Torske, Zarichne, the outskirts of Yampil, Yampolivka and Terny of Lyman community were shelled. In Kostiantynivka, 3 private houses, a garage, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged. Another house was damaged in Novomarkove.
Towards Bakhmut, in Chasiv Yar community, 5 private houses, 2 apartment buildings, an infrastructure facility and a trade pavilion were damaged. In Siversk, 3 apartment buildings and an infrastructure facility were damaged.
In total, russians attacked settlements 19 times. 89 people, including 18 children, were evacuated from the frontline.
Since the first weeks of the new year, the Humanitarian Centre of Donetsk oblast together with charitable organisations have been providing humanitarian and charitable aid to the communities of Donetsk oblast. Over 527.4 tonnes of the aid has been distributed this year.

In recent days, weather conditions have limited the enemy’s use of aviation, but yesterday russians were attacking from the air along the entire eastern frontline: Stelmakhivka, Novoiehorivka, Bilohorivka and Serebrianka forest. According to the RMA, the enemy tried to conduct assault operations on the latter’s territory and used artillery and mortars. Kryvoshiyivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka also came under fire.
Yesterday Krasnorichensk military administration distributed bread, food packages, flour, blankets, dishes and other items needed for everyday life to the residents of Novoliubivka who still remain in the settlement.
Since yesterday, residents of the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” have been offered to change their voting location in the March elections. By taking advantage of this manipulative proposal until March 11, a person will be able to cast his or her vote not at the place of registration, but in any locality of his or her choice – both in the occupied territory and in the regions of the russian federation.
Roman Vlasenko, Head of Sieverodonetsk Regional State Administration, says that local residents are mostly deprived of centralized heating. This is the second winter that russians have been unable to repair the heating system properly. In Rubizhne and Lysychansk, “restoration teams” from the russian federation began to appear. Because of this, the local population expects another wave of looting. The russian military are the first in line to be resettled in empty apartments.
The “white angels” delivered food packages and bread to the residents of half-destroyed Torske. russians are constantly trying to advance towards Lyman and shelling the village. The enemy positions are only a few kilometers away. A little more than 150 residents remain in Torske. Because of the shelling, they spend a lot of time in shelters.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv RMA, reported that at night, the enemy attacked the oblast with kamikaze drones. As a result of the falling debris, a fire broke out on the territory of one of the factories. An administrative building, a hangar and 3 cars were damaged. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Kyiv Regional Centre for Preparing Residents for National Resistance held its first one-day course, which was attended by over a hundred people. Experienced instructors conducted tactical and firearms training, taught the basics of tactical medicine, and showed how to operate UAVs. In the future, it is planned to hold both one-day classes and full-fledged courses lasting more than 100 hours.
According to Kyiv RMA, a 16-apartment residential building in Hostomel that was destroyed in the spring of 2022 and declared uninhabitable is being restored. The restoration began in autumn 2023. Upon its completion, 60 residents will be able to return to the building.
According to the Security Service of Ukraine, an agent of the Federal Security Service of the russian federation was caught in Kyiv. He passed on military intelligence about the Defence Forces and Ukraine’s strategic infrastructure. First of all, the man tried to identify and pass on to the aggressor the locations of the reserve command posts of the Third Separate Assault Brigade and the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also sent the invaders the coordinates of key energy and heat generating enterprises that provide electricity and heating to most of the civilian infrastructure of the capital.
Vitalii Klychko, Mayor of Kyiv, reported that Kyiv’s budget allocates UAH 742 million to help veterans and their families, as well as families of fallen soldiers. UAH 1.2 billion was allocated to help the military. Kyiv residents who are mobilised to the Armed Forces of Ukraine are now receiving a one-off payment of UAH 30,000 from the city.
The capital allocated 10% of the city budget to help the military in 2023. This is UAH 7 billion. Of this, more than UAH 1.5 billion was spent on the purchase of various types of drones for the military. In addition, Kyiv allocated over UAH 60 million and purchased electronic warfare equipment for the military. At the expense of the community, the defenders purchased vehicles, almost 3,000 drones, and the necessary equipment. The city donated another 400 drones as charity.
Kerry Kennedy, President of the American human rights organisation Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, visited Bucha. She was shown the consequences of the russian occupation and numerous war crimes. A significant part of the time was devoted to civilian prisoners kidnapped and illegally held by the russians on the territory of the russian federation. 76 Bucha residents have been confirmed to be kidnapped.
According to the regional police, five dog handlers from Kyiv oblast were trained at a police centre in the United States. During the five-day visit, Ukrainian law enforcement officers studied American experience in searching for dead bodies, explosives, weapons and drugs. The training took place at the modern police dog training centre in Decatur, Illinois.
The State Border Guard Service reported that recently, one of the state border protection units of Zhytomyr Border Guard Detachment held tactical medicine training. The border guards were trained by representatives of the volunteer medical unit of the Tactical Medicine North NGO. The instructors provided a theoretical and practical basis for the servicemen, taught them to work within the algorithm of providing first aid under the MARCH protocol.
According to Sumy RMA, as a result of the russian shelling of the village of Znob-Novhorodske on January 29, 3 people were killed and 2 wounded. The russian military shelled the village with mortars and MLRs during the day, there were at least 20 explosions. The enemy’s strikes damaged an industrial enterprise, a post office, a bread factory, a shop, 6 houses, a car, outbuildings and power lines.
On January 29, russians dropped explosives from a drone on the outskirts of Mohrytsia in Yunakivka community. The shelling killed a 36-year-old man. Voluntary evacuation of the population continues in the 5-kilometre zone from the border with russia. Residents of the border area who are under constant shelling are being helped to move to safer areas.
It is reported that russians fired 46 times at Sumy oblast border and launched 221 attacks. The attacks affected 10 communities in the oblast: Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Myropil, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhyne, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, and Seredyna-Buda.
According to Sumy RMA, at night, the enemy fired four times at the oblast. Znob-Novhorodske, Druzhbivka, Svesa and Shostka communities were shelled. There were 15 explosions – mortar attacks and two UAV strikes.
A business school for veterans and their families has opened in Sumy oblast. This is a joint project of Sumy Regional Military Academy, Sumy National Agrarian University and the State Employment Service. The business school offers four degree programmes free of charge: Entrepreneurship and Business Planning; Digital, Internet, SMM Marketing, Creating an Online Store; Project Management and Preparing Grant Topics; and Financial Literacy.
According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, russian troops fired 7 times at the border of Chernihiv oblast. Two communities were shelled with mortars. Novhorod-Siverskyi community – 3 attacks towards Hremiach. Semenivka community – 25 attacks towards Karpovychi, Leonivka, Hati and Bleshnia.
The territorial defence soldiers donated their blood to the regional blood centre. More than 30 territorial defence servicemen joined the programme.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
At night, an enemy drone was destroyed by air defense forces over Kryvyi Rih region. A fire broke out there as a result of a drone attack. Rescuers eliminated the fire. Closer to midnight, the enemy shelled Nikopol region with artillery. Chervonohryhorivka community was shelled. The shelling damaged a private house, 3 outbuildings and 1 car.
In the afternoon, the russians fired a missile at Synelnykove region. More than three dozen houses, outbuildings, a garage and a power line were damaged. The aggressor was shelling Nikopol region all day long. A 65-year-old man was injured in Pokrovske community. He had shrapnel wounds and received the necessary medical care. During the day, the occupiers carried out 14 attacks in the area. They used artillery and launched 10 kamikaze drones. Nikopol, Pokrovsk and Marhanets communities were under attack. A kindergarten, a lyceum, a shop, three and a half dozen houses, more than a dozen outbuildings, a dozen cars, power lines, and gas pipelines and fences were destroyed.
In Kalynivka city, a memorial plaque was opened in honour of the fallen defender Serhii Savchuk. It was installed in the Lyceum No. 3 building where the defender studied. Serhii served as the commander of an IFV as part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Danylo Halytskyi in Kherson oblast. The 48-year-old defender was killed on September 11, 2022, near Shchaslyve village of Kherson oblast.
The protection of the sky over Kirovohrad oblast is being strengthened. Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that 9 new Toyota pickups will soon be delivered to the region thanks to the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada. The vehicles will be equipped with the necessary equipment for mobile fire groups and they will promptly go on combat duty to continue repelling enemy attacks from the air.
Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that at night the Air Defence Forces shot down a Shahed drone over the oblast. There were no damages or casualties.
The second car in a week was delivered to the defenders. This is an all-wheel drive diesel pickup truck. It was purchased by Hrebinkiv community and a local farmer.
Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, announced that at night in Uman region a Shahed drone hit an abandoned building. Another attack UAV was destroyed.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia RMA reported that on January 29, the russian military conducted 159 strikes on cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Huliaipole, Novodarivka, Novodanylivka, Charivne, Chervone, Levadne, Kamianske, Stepnohirsk, Piatyhatky, and Stepove were shelled.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed that Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled two attacks by russian forces. These attacks occurred west of Verbovе and Robotyne.
Mykolaiv RMA reported that on January 29 and the night of January 30, russian forces attacked Mykolaiv oblast with drones and artillery. Following the drone’s debris falling, a vehicle caught fire, leading to the driver’s traumatic brain injury. Moreover, three shelling attacks by russian artillery were documented in settlements of Kutsurub community throughout the day. There were no casualties reported.
According to the Southern Air Command, at night, on January 30, Ukrainian Forces successfully shot down a russian reconnaissance drone Supercam S350, operating in Mykolaiv oblast. These drones are employed for high-resolution aerial photography to generate detailed digital maps and for remote aerial monitoring of terrain and objects.
Maritime Border Guards of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, responsible for monitoring both water (mainly the protection of the Danube Delta) and the sky, are actively contributing to the defence efforts in the southern region of Ukraine. During the full-scale invasion, their key task involves eliminating airborne threats, and in the event of an aerial attack, they operate within the air defence units. In 2023, they shot down 23 enemy drones and one cruise missile.
According to Andrii Babenko, Deputy of Odesa RMA, Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive a vehicle to combat occupiers from Romanian friends, who donated a Volkswagen Touareg for the Ukrainian defenders.
On January 30, as a consequence of a russian attack on Tokarivka village of in Kherson, a woman was injured, resulting in explosive trauma, partial finger amputation, and shrapnel wounds to the head, abdomen, and leg.
Also, the russian military launched strikes on two settlements in Beryslav region of Kherson oblast. The attacks targeted buildings and the Point of Invincibility. There were no casualties reported.
In the morning and around 13:00, russian forces deployed an explosive device from a drone onto Beryslav. A man on the street was killed, and another person injured. The Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a criminal investigation into the incident.
During the night, russian forces shelled Bilozerka community in Kherson oblast, specifically targeting a private house in Veletenske. A man was killed and his wife injured.
According to Kherson RMA, on January 29, russian forces attacked 67 times on Kherson, firing a total of 272 projectiles from various weaponry, including mortars, artillery, MLRS, tanks, aviation, and UAVs, including two of the Shahed type. The attacks struck residential districts, and Shahed drones targeted enterprise premises in Kherson district. One person was killed and another injured.
According to the Southern Defense Forces, defensive forces on the left bank of Kherson oblast destroyed 2 russian cannons, 2 boats, 2 reconnaissance Supercam UAVs, 3 armoured vehicles, and 72 russian military personnel throughout the day.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Peter Siyarto and Dmytro Kuleba, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and Ukraine, met with representatives of the Hungarian community of Zakarpattia. Needs of the Hungarian national community were discussed.
The RMA held a meeting with representatives of 15 patient public organizations. Conditions for obtaining medicines under the reimbursement program, keeping electronic medical records of patients who need palliative care and pain relief were discussed.
A new large UNBROKEN prosthetics workshop will soon be operational in Lviv. In April, they will start collecting, trying on and fitting prostheses to Ukrainians who suffered from the war. Men and women who have already received prostheses will work in the center. 40 workers will be able to make 700-1K prostheses per year, but this is a very tentative figure. International prosthetists will be training Ukrainian colleagues.
Residents of Boryslav Community will be paid a one-time assistance in the amount of UAH 20K for signing a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Lviv oblast was the first in Ukraine to fully complete the process of decommunization. The last soviet monument was dismantled in Lopatin community. During 2023, 312 such structures were demolished in Lviv oblast without spending funds from the regional budget. Caring local residents were ingaged.
A renovated Safety Classroom was opened at Medenitsa School. Desks, chairs, and a TV were purchased with funds of the budget. With funds from the regional budget, an interactive shooting range with a laser machine gun and a pistol, a training mannequin-trainer “artificial respiration”, turnstiles, tires, mock-ups of various types of mines and other training equipment were purchased.
In Khodorov, with the financial support of UNICEF, UNHCR, and the Rokada CF, a Youth Center and a Children’s Space were opened. Young people and children could study, relax, develop creative abilities and reveal their potential there.
In Zolochiv school #2 named after Markiyan Shashkevych, a renovated school canteen was opened. The project was implemented by the joint efforts of Zolochiv City Council and USAID HOVERLA.
Spanish volunteers presented violins to the children of Strii region. Students of Hrabovetska-Dulibivska and Lysiatska schools of arts each received five musical instruments. They were donated by the JUNTOS por la VIDA organization.
In January, 37 schools in Rivne oblast were provided with officers from the Educational Security Service. These are institutions of the regional center and northern oblasts.
In the hall of Ternopil National Pedagogical University, there is a photo exhibition of military man Yurii Kostyshyn. The Aby DobraNich exhibition presents photos taken in the period from February 2022 to September 2023 in Bakhmut region and Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Another rotation of experts from the permanent mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency took place at Khmelnytskyi NPP. The key tasks of the mission are the monitoring of nuclear and radiation safety at Ukrainian nuclear facilities in the conditions of the war started by russia. International experts will work at NPP for three weeks, conducting tours and inspections of premises and equipment, as well as interviews with the personnel of the power plant.
Chernivtsi RMA received humanitarian aid, namely an ultrasound machine, functional medical beds, aluminum walkers, crutches, wheelchairs for children and adults, medical first-aid kits and bed linen, from the Chancellery of the Marshal of the Lodz Voivodeship.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
The permanent representation of Belgium to the EU reported that permanent representatives of the European Union countries agreed to create a separate account to which interest from the taxable profits of frozen russian assets will be transferred. EU member states have yet to decide how to implement the plan before the money can be transferred to Ukraine.
The Netherlands allocated EUR 87 mln for the purchase of artillery shells for Ukraine. Also, EUR 25 mln will be transferred to the International Fund for Ukraine for the purchase of weapons. In addition, the Dutch government will invest another EUR 10 mln in improving Ukraine’s cyber defense. These contributions were the result of consultations of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group, which includes 50 partner countries. They help Ukraine purchase equipment and resources to defend against russia.
Another round of negotiations between Ukraine and Germany regarding the conclusion of bilateral security obligations took place. They discussed the wording of key provisions of the agreement, terminology and legal formalities.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of Greece. They discussed the course of hostilities, as well as preparations for the second Ukraine-Balkans summit.
Vitalii Koval, Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, met with Matsuda Kuninori, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine. They discussed plans of the State Property Fund to participate in the conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, which will be held in February in Tokyo.
Olaf Scholz called on the Europeans to significantly expand their support for Ukraine. “Europe should do more to support Ukraine in its defense. The contributions that European countries have allocated for 2024 are still not large enough,” said the German Chancellor.
Lithuanians’ Radarom! campaign is being launched for the second time in support of the Armed Forces. The goal is to collect funds for special kits for soldiers by February 24. One such package consists of a night vision monocular, a laser sight, an individual anti-drone complex and costs €7.5K. The meeting was announced by the public broadcaster LRT, organizations Blue/Yellow, Strong Together and others. Last year, they conducted a similar campaign, accumulating €14 mln for radars.
340K doses of oral polio vaccine to support the National Immunization Program of Ukraine were delivered by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF Ukraine) with the support of the United States Agency for International Development. The storage and delivery to oblasts of the vaccine received from international partners as humanitarian aid takes place with the support of the SAFEMed project, USAID Ukraine – USAID Ukraine – Safe and Affordable Medicines for Ukrainians.
