It has been the 689th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to wage its war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it has not abandoned its plans to fully occupy Ukrainian territory. The adversary continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes and shells both military and civilian objects. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

On January 13, there were 49 combat clashes. The russian army launched a total of 32 missile and 65 air strikes, as well as 42 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks killed and wounded civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged. 

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy launched airstrikes in the vicinity of settlements of Vovchansk and Vesele (Kharkiv oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 35x settlements, including Kostyantynivka, Khotin, Popivka, Volfyne (Sumy oblast), Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Vovchansk, and Potykhonove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka (Kharkiv oblast). In that area, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinity of Pishchane and Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10x settlements, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian defenders repelled 4x attacks in the vicinities of Makiivka (Luhansk oblast) and Terny (Donetsk oblast). The enemy attempted to improve its tactical position in that area. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Nevske, Bilohorivka, Serebrianka forestry (Luhansk oblast), and Siversk (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Yampolivka, Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 1 enemy attack in the vicinity of Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy launched 1 airstrike in the vicinity of Bohdanivka (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). 

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and 10 more attacks in the vicinities of Sieverne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). With the air support, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical position in that area. Also, the adversary launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Ocheretyne (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). With the air support, the adversary made 16 unsuccessful attempts to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Paraskoviivka (Donetsk oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks south of Prechystivka and west of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical position in that area. The enemy launched 1 airstrike in the vicinity of Vodyane (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 attacks in the vicinity of Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost ground in that area. The enemy launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Novoandriivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, Kherson and the vicinities of Mykhailivka, Sadove, Dniprovske, and Veletenske (Kherson oblast) came under enemy artillery fire. Also, the invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of settlements of Chervonyi Maiak and Zmiivka (Kherson oblast).

The occupiers have not abandoned their intention to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. For instance, during the day of January 13, the russian invaders attempted 4 unsuccessful assault operations, but the Ukrainian troops continue to hold their positions and inflict significant losses on the enemy.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 11 buildups of enemy troops, weapons, and military equipment. Also,  7 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 guided missiles and 1 Kh-59 air-launched guided missile were destroyed.

Ukrainian rocket troops hit 3 buildups of enemy troops, weapons, and military equipment, 9 artillery systems, 4 air defense systems, 1 ammunition depot, and 1 electronic warfare station.


On the morning of January 13, russia launched a massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine. A total of forty missiles were used, including cruise, aerial, ballistic, air defense, anti-aircraft guided missiles and strike UAVs. Ukrainian electronic warfare systems destroyed most of them . 

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal says that another UAH 2.5 billion was allocated to enhance border defense. Also, UAH 120 million will also be allocated for the State Border Guard Service.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops carried out airstrikes near Vovchansk Vesele of Lipetsk community, Pishchane and Ivanivka of Kupyansk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 4 russian attacks near Sinkivka. More than 4 settlements towards Slobozhanske and Kupiansk directions.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv community, says that russian troops shelled the village of Ivashky with artillery. The shelling lasted for an hour. According to him, no one was injured or killed. As a result of the attack, houses were damaged and power supply cut off.

Yesterday, over 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were shelled,  including Huriev Kozachok, Udy of Bohodukhiv region; Zybino, Budarky of Chuhuiv region; Dvorichanske, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupyansk region. The occupants also carried out airstrikes near Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region; Synkivka, Ivanivka, Vilkhuvatka, Kupiansk region. 

At 02.45 the enemy shelled Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region. Two private houses were damaged. There were no casualties.  

At 02:20, the occupiers attacked Zolochiv village of Bohodukhiv region, with multiple rocket launchers. 5 private houses were damaged. No casualties were reported. 

The day before, at about 09:00, the enemy fired on the village of Vilkhuvatka, Kupiansk region. The occupiers used 4 multiple rocket launchers. 2 enterprises, warehouses, 3 units of agricultural machinery, and 3 private houses were damaged. There were no casualties reported. 

At 19.30, the enemy attacked the town of Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, with multiple rocket launchers.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 9 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Petropavlivka in Kupiansk region.

Pyrotechnitianss cleared 4.3 hectares of mines in Kharkiv region and destroyed 203 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.

Donetsk oblast

As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops repelled 62 attacks by the russian army on the eastern front in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Most of them occurred towards Avdiivka and Marinka. 

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reports that towards Donetsk, 10 Invincibility Centres were destroyed by the russian army. Today, there are 197 such centres in the region.

On the night of 13 January, russian troops fired two rockets at Kostiantynivka. No civilians were killed or injured. In total, on 12 January, the russian army fired 21 times at 11 settlements in Donetsk oblast.

Anastasia Miedviedeva, Spokeswoman for the Prosecutor’s Office, informs that on 13 January, russian occupiers attacked the village of Ocheretyno of Pokrovsk community. One man was wounded. 

Petro Andriushchenko, Adviser to the mayor of MariupolIn Mariupol, an old water tower, which is one of the city’s architectural landmarks, began to collapse. The tower was not damaged during the russian shelling of the city, but began to collapse without proper maintenance. 

Towards Pokrovsk, russians killed 1 person in Avdiivka. A house in Krasnohorivka was damaged in Maryinka community. Berdychi was shelled in Ocheretyne community. In Kurakhove community, the industrial zone came under fire three times. 

Towards Kramatorsk, in the middle of the night, russians fired two missiles at Kostiantynivka, Predtechine, Mykolaivka, Markove and Stupochky were also shelled in the community. In Illinivka community, a S-300 missile damaged a warehouse in Illinivka, and Grads shelled Dovha Balka, damaging 3 facilities. Lyman community was shelled eight times.

Towards Bakhmut, 8 houses and a kindergarten in Niu York were damaged in Toretsk community, and 1 more house in Toretsk. In Chasiv Yar community, 2 multi-storey buildings, 2 private houses and 2 industrial buildings were damaged. In Siversk community, a house in Serebrianka was damaged.

In total, russians fired 21 times at the settlements of Donetsk oblast over the past day.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Military Administration informs that on 12 January, russians killed one resident in Avdiivka. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Donetsk oblast, 1832 people have been killed and 4474 others wounded by shelling.

Luhansk oblast

Luhansk Regional Military Administration reports that police officers bring aid to every liberated settlement on a weekly basis. Yesterday it was Nevske, where a week’s supply of bread was distributed to the residents. Each time, law enforcement vehicles are ready to evacuate local residents.

Enemy troops became more active near Makiivka, where another assault attempt was repelled. The russians opened fire on neighbouring Nevske and on Bilohorivka. The enemy attacked Novoiehorivka and Serebrianka forest from the air.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Military Administration, says that 30 % of public places and 20 % of residential buildings in the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” are currently covered by the invaders’ video surveillance system, which is capable of recognising people by their faces. Each video camera is connected to a centralised system that will cover the entire occupied territory. The largest number of cameras are installed in Luhansk and at checkpoints on the border with Rostov oblast  of russia.

The invaders continue to suffer significant losses in personnel involved in eastern Ukraine. From 6 to 10 January alone, more than 300 occupiers with serious injuries were brought to hospitals in Chernianka, Valuyki and Rovenki in Belgorod oblast from Luhansk, almost 250 to Belgorod, and about 150 russian servicemen were sent to Moscow and Kaliningrad as they cannot be helped in frontline hospitals due to the lack of qualified doctors. Field hospitals are overcrowded and cannot cope with the number of injured soldiers.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Stephane Sejournay, the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, visited the Ukrainian capital. He is scheduled to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine.

During his visit to Kyiv, Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of Great Britain, together with the President of Ukraine, visited Ukrainian servicemen undergoing treatment in one of the capital’s medical facilities.  He also visited the site of a russian missile strike in Kyiv’s Solomyanskyi district that killed 4 people, injured 50, and left hundreds homeless. The delegation of British officials spoke with rescuer workers who were among the first to arrive at the site of the strike, as well as with local residents who lost their homes.

On January 12, Penny Pritzker, the US Special Representative for Ukraine’s economic recovery, arrived in Kyiv. The US delegation also included representatives of major American financial institutions. Penny Pritzker met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian officials.

The Kyivteploenerho company restored the operation of the heating station damaged as a result of the missile attack on January 2. The heating station provides heating and hot water to 9 entrances of the damaged high-rise building, where about 800 Kyiv residents live. As a result of falling fragments, a significant part of the equipment was destroyed, the ceiling and walls of the heating station building also destroyed, and the networks supplying heat to the building damaged.

Vitalii Klychko, Mayor of Kyiv, said that 100K body warmers received from foreign partners arrived in the city. The warmers were handed over to the headquarters of the Ground Forces for the troops fighting in the east of Ukraine. The main advantages of these warmers are that they are self-heating, can be placed in shoes or pockets, and have a high heating temperature.

Zhytomyr oblast

On January 12, another evacuation train  arrived from Donetsk oblast to Berdychev. Among the 27 people who came from the areas of active hostilities, there are 2 children and 5 disabled people. At the railway station, representatives of Ukrposhta provided the IDPs with monetary aid. All the arrivals received hot meals and hygiene kits.

Zhytomyr Regional Employment Service reported that last year, entrepreneurs of the oblast received 477 micro-grants for a total amount of over UAH 113 million. The employment service directed about UAH 143 million of state funds to finance employment programs. Thanks to the investment, at least 1K new jobs will be created in Zhytomyr oblast.

Sumy oblast

 Sumy RMA reported that at night and in the morning, the russian invaders launched 6 artillery strikes on the border area of the oblast (21 explosions). Khotyn, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman and Znob-Novhorodske communities came under shelling.

Sumy RMA reported that as a result of an enemy missile strike on Shostka, an infrastructure facility was damaged, leaving 12 K apartments without heat supply. At 7:30 a.m. the russian military launched missile attacks on the city with 7 explosions recorded. As a result of the russian attack, one woman was injured. Restoration of heat supply and work to eliminate the consequences of the missile strike are ongoing.

Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that on January 13, the russian army attacked the city of Shostka with Kh-22 supersonic cruise missiles. A 47-year-old woman was injured. At least 26 buildings were damaged by the blast wave.

The russian army carried out 50 shelling attacks in Sumy oblast, there were 260 strikes were recorded – from mortars, artillery, AGS, FPV drones, VOG dropping from UAVs. Khotyn, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhine, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Svesa, Seredina-Buda and Druzhbivka communities came under shelling. Police reported that on January 12, 15 houses, a car, a farm hangar and power lines were damaged in Velyka Pisarivka and Seredyna Buda communities due to the enemy shelling.

Chernihiv oblast

The police of Chernihiv oblast reports that several private houses and non-residential buildings were damaged by fragments of a russian missile in Chernihiv on the morning of January 13. One building was practically destroyed. People in the yard closest to the epicentre were not injured, but a dog was killed in the explosion.

Oleksandr Lomako, Acting Mayor of Chernihiv,  said that the aftermath of the morning attack on the city by the russian troops have not yet been eliminated. The attack damaged 15 civilian buildings, an apartment building and three stores. Chernihiv residents whose homes were damaged will be assisted in taping windows and repairing roofs.

The SBGS reported that during the past 24 hours, January 12, russian troops shelled the border of Chernihiv oblast 6 times during the day. Novhorod-Siverskyi community suffered 14 mortar hits, the enemy hit 23 artillery and 3 mortar hits in Semenivka community.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that at night the occupiers shelled  Nikopol region twice with artillery. They hit Nikopol and Chervonohryhorivka community. More than half a dozen shells were fired. Two enemy missiles were shot down in Kryvyi Rih region. The occupiers attacked Nikopol region more than a dozen times. They used 9 kamikaze drones and artillery.

The region center, Marhanets, Myrove and Chervonohryhorivka communities were targeted. In Nikopol, a multi-storey building, a garage cooperative, cars, half a dozen private houses, outbuildings and a power line were damaged.

In 2023, 109 veterans in Dnipropetrovsk oblast purchased housing at the budget expense for a total of almost UAH 240 million. In total, the state allocated almost UAH 715 million for housing of 334 veterans and their families.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia Lyceum No. 20 is implementing a microgreen project with further assistance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Students will grow microgreens for sale and part of the raised money will go to a charity fund that supports the army.

A book series about the Heroes of Ukraine from the oblast will be published in Vinnytsia. Three stories about the military are currently being prepared for publication. There will be stories about both living and fallen defenders under this title.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that at night the Air Defense systems shot targets in Kirovohrad oblast.

Oksana Machak, Spokeswoman for the Regional Emergency Service, announces that sappers clearing the territory in the east of the country returned to Kropyvnytskyi after a month-long operation in the field.

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, reported that the enemy attacked Poltava oblast. The Air Defense shot targets in the oblast. An unexploded missile fell into the yard of a private house in Kremenchuk raion. The outbuilding was damaged.

Artem Pohorilyi, a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will be the only one from Poltava oblast to participate in the Air Force competition. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The Zaporizhzhia RMA reported that on January 12, the russian military launched 129 strikes on cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Enemy MLRSs, artillery, and 39 drones attacked Huliaipole, Chervone, Charivne, Robotyne, Levadne, Poltavka, Novodarivka, Huliaipilske, and Stepove.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed that on January 12, the Defense Forces repelled eight attacks by the russian military west of Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Anatoliy Kurtev, Acting Mayor of Zaporizhzhia, informed that in Zaporizhzhia 251 residents received financial compensation for repairing damaged housing under the e-Restoration program.

In Khortytskyi district of Zaporizhzhia, residents of a high-rise building are preparing pies, buns, and rolls for the Ukrainian military. They are baking and frying up to 800 pieces a day, packaging them into cardboard boxes for delivery to the front lines.

Mykolaiv oblast

The South Air Command reports that on the morning of January 13, in Mykolaiv oblast, Air Defense units successfully eliminated two russian X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles. Additionally, two anti-radar X-31P missiles, directed towards Mykolaiv oblast, lost their combat capability in the air.

The press service of Mykolaiv RMA, informs that on January 12, rthe ussian military launched attacks on two communities in Mykolaiv oblast. The shelling damaged residential buildings and power supply lines. There were no reported casualties.

The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine informs that Denmark will provide Ukraine with over $21 million to restore Mykolaiv. 

Odesa oblast

Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in the Black Sea, the number of enemy ships reduced, with only one ship currently remaining. Additionally, all missile carriers are presently stationed at their bases. It is crucial to acknowledge that the situation is subject to rapid changes, as previously indicated by military sources, highlighting the capability of the russian military to launch missiles directly from the bays.

Andrii Kostin, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, announces that the Prosecutor’s Office of the International Criminal Court is investigating the russian federation’s attacks on the port and near-port infrastructure of Odesa oblast. He reveals that following russia’s withdrawal from the Grain Agreement in the summer of 2023, its military initiated extensive shelling of the ports in Odesa oblast, resulting in the registration of over 20 criminal cases.

After a meeting with Chiara Dezzi Bardeschi, Head of the UNESCO office in Ukraine, Odesa City Council reports on January 13 that the government of Italy intends to allocate the first tranche of EUR 500K to UNESCO for emergency restoration work at the Spaso-Preobrazhensk Cathedral in Odesa by the end of January. The cathedral had suffered damage from a russian missile strike in July 2023.

Kherson oblast

Kherson RMA reported that in the afternoon, the russian military targeted Vesele in Kherson oblast, injuring a man.

In Mykhailivka, Kherson oblast, russian military hit a residential building. There were no  casualties reported.

Also, a village in Beryslav region was attacked by russian drones. A 54-year-old man was injured and hospitalized.

In the morning, the russian military attacked Dniprovske in Kherson oblast, injuring a woman.

Roman Mrochko, Head of Kherson CMA, reported that overnight, the russian shelling in Korabelnyi district of Kherson damaged the water supply system in one of the high-rise buildings. Be, russian shells damaged the trolleybus network. Repair works are currently underway.

In Beryslav, a 71-year-old woman was trapped under the rubble after an overnight shelling of a residential neighbourhood. Rescuers freed her and she received the necessary medical care.

Also at night, the russian military shelled Sadove, causing a fire in a private house and an elderly man was injured.

Olexandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reports that on January 12, the russian military shelled Kherson oblast 71 times, targeting residential areas and an educational institution. Unfortunately, two people were killed.

On the left bank of Kherson oblast, Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 38 russian occupiers, a radio-electronic warfare station, 3 vehicles, and a UAV control point.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council reported that military unit A 4932 received five DJI MAVIC 3 FLY More Combo quadcopters and two Starlink Internet Satellite Dish Kit V2 satellite modems.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, posthumously awarded Anatolii Varvara Tehza, soldier of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the III degree For Courage Order for personal courage shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless performance of military duty.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that they sent a set of means of combating drones, namely, thermal imagers, charging stations, searchlights, radio stations, walkie-talkies and laser pointers, to one of the military units protecting the airspace.

The RMA reported that since the beginning of the war, 16 Prykarpattia families have taken in orphans from the front-line oblast.

Lviv oblast

Lviv community sent 1 car, 14 night vision devices, 3 Starlinks, 18 drones, 450 FPVs and 5 ATVs worth almost UAH 14 mln to the military. In total, almost 1K drones were sent in the first two weeks of the year.

Fighters of the 66th separate battalion of the 103rd brigade received high awards for the successful fulfillment of combat tasks. Roman Balandiukh was awarded with the Silver Cross honorary badge by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Petro Lytvynov, Taras Hasyuk and Volodymyr Koshyk were awarded with the Golden Cross badge by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ihor Prachuk received the III degree For Loyal Service Medal by the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Lviv City Council decided that 18 more memorial tables to Ukrainian defenders will be installed in Lviv, 15 of them will be on the facades of the city’s educational institutions, and 3 – on residential buildings.

Rivne oblast

During the air alert, air defense systems were functioning in the oblast . According to the available information, objects of critical infrastructure and the civilian population were not affected.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA reported that there are 158 Invincibility Centers in Ternopil oblast. Another 248 Centers are in the “ready to open” status.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In the morning, while repelling the enemy’s attack, the anti-aircraft forces were active, and shot down an air target in Khmelnytskyi oblast. According to the available information, objects of critical infrastructure and the civilian population were not damaged.

The Forum for Assistance to Victims of War  discussed the results of cooperation in 2023 and priority tasks for 2024 . Chernivtsi RMA cooperates with over 50 international partners and state organizations in the field of supporting IDPs, creation of comfortable living conditions, employment and socialization of war victims.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Romania will receive €126 mln from the EU to expand ports for Ukrainian exports. The European Commission has approved an aid program for Romania, which faced an increase in flows after the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine. The European Commission said that this measure should facilitate Ukraine’s trade within the framework of the EU action plan “Paths of Solidarity”. The program is valid until December 31, 2024.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Penny Pritzker, US special representative for economic recovery of Ukraine. They discussed further development of relations between the USA and Ukraine.

Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine, met with representatives of US medical and charity organizations. They discussed the issue of building hospitals and rehabilitation centres according to EU standards.

Stephane Sejournay, newly elected Head of the French Foreign Ministry, arrived in Kyiv. “For almost 2 years, Ukraine has been on the front line, defending its sovereignty and ensuring the security of Europe. France’s assistance is long-term. This confirms the fact that I came to Kyiv on my first trip,” said Sejourne. Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this will be Sejourne’s first visit to Ukraine to confirm Ukraine’s continued support in Europe.

During a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, Stephane Sejournay, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, stated that France will strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities in the production of weapons systems.

MEPs collected signatures for depriving Hungary of the right to vote in the Council of the EU. “We are one step closer to depriving Orbán of his right to vote. The feedback has been powerful, thank you to everyone who supported this historic petition,” said Petri Sarvamaa, Finnish MEP. Sarvamaa also specified that his petition was supported by 120 MEPs from various political parties and from “several member states”.

Leo Varadkar, Prime Minister of Ireland, announced that the country will not send Ukrainians to their homeland until the war is over. Ireland has accepted over 101,2K immigrants from Ukraine, of which 74,5K people currently live in public housing, and 57K in housing with a full range of services. Many of them receive additional social assistance. Over 16K of them are working.
