It has been the 684 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The adversary continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes and fires at both military and civilian targets. The enemy actively uses operational-tactical aviation and quadrocopters of the “FPV” type, conducts assault operations to support armored vehicles.

On the night of January 8, 2024, the Russian invaders launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using cruise, aviation, ballistic, anti-aircraft guided missiles and attack UAVs. A total of 59 means of enemy air attack were recorded: 8 attack UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type, 7 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles,

4 Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” air-launched missiles, 24 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles, 8 Kh-22 cruise missiles, 2 Kh-31P guided air missiles. Critical, civil infrastructure, industrial and military facilities were attacked. this time the enemy attacked other regions of Ukraine. also, missiles flying along a ballistic trajectory were directed at the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Khmelnytsky regions. Air defense destroyed 8 Shahed-136/131 type UAVs and 18 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles.

55 combat clashes took place during the day. In total, 55 missile and 16 air strikes were carried out on the current, 16 attacks from rocket salvo systems were carried out on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of the Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private homes and apartment buildings, other civil infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

On the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No sign of the formation of subsequent groups was found. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus ensure the performance of tasks in the border regions with Ukraine.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, fires at populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of improvised explosive devices along the state border of Ukraine. About 30 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar fire from the enemy, among them Zareche, Muraveynyk, Gremyach of Chernihiv region; Fotovizh, Tovstodubovo, Zapsilya, Sumy region; Vesele, Bochkove, Budarky, Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyan direction, the Defense Forces repelled 5 attacks near Synkivka, Kharkiv region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve their tactical position. Also, the task of opponents of airstrikes in Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Kislivka, Tabaivka, Pischany, Berestovo districts of Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestovka of the Kharkiv region.

In the Lymansky direction, our defenders repelled an enemy attack east of Ternivsk, Donetsk region. He also carried out an airstrike on the enemy in the Novoselyvka area of the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements were destroyed by enemy artillery and mortar attacks, among them Nevske, Belogorivka of Luhansk Oblasts and Torske, Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne of Donetsk Oblasts.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the forces of the Defense Department 2 attacked the enemy near Donetsk, Klishchiivka and Andriivka region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Vasyukivka, Bogdanivka, Ivanovske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, New York of the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 3 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka, Severnoy, and Tonenko districts and another 14 attacks near the Pervomaisky and Nevelsky districts of Donetsk regions. Artillery and mortar attacks were reported in about 15 settlements, among them Novokalynove, Berdychi, Avdiyivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region.

In the Mariinsky direction, the Defense Forces continue to support the enemy near Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of our troops 7 times. Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Maksimilianivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Kostyantynivka came under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Shakhtarsky direction. Shelled more than 10 settlements with artillery and mortars, in particular, Vugledar, Prechistivka, Urozhane, Staromayorske of the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled 6 enemy attacks south of Krasnoye, west of Verbovoy, and north of Novoprokopivka of the Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy tried to improve the tactical position. More than 15 settlements, including Levadne, Malynyvka, Gulyaipole, Pyatikhatky, and Kamianske of the Zaporizhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the zone of responsibility of the “Odesa” anti-aircraft defense unit in the Kherson direction, Zmiivka, Krynky, Tyaginka, Ivanivka, Kherson of the Kherson region and Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region were subjected to enemy artillery fire.

The enemy does not give up his intention to knock out our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. Thus, during the day, the enemy carried out 9 unsuccessful assaults, but Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold their positions and inflict significant losses on the enemy.

Units of missile troops hit 2 enemy ammunition depots.

Air defense systems do not cover the entire territory of Ukraine. Air defense systems cannot cover the entire territory of Ukraine, so enemy missiles and drones can reach the western regions. Enemy targets fly along those routes, about which they have intelligence and where it is more difficult for our air defense to intercept them. This was reported by the Spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has damaged 1,501 medical facilities in Ukraine, and completely destroyed 195. 474 medical facilities have been fully restored, and 383 facilities have been partially rebuilt or are in the process of being restored. Medical facilities in Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, Mykolaiv Oblast, Kyiv Oblast, Chernihiv Oblast, Dnipro Oblast, Kherson Oblast and Zaporizhzhia suffered the greatest losses due to Russian shelling and bombing. At the same time, it is currently impossible to obtain complete information about Luhansk Oblast. Also, due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, 103 emergency medical aid vehicles were damaged, 125 such vehicles were captured by the enemy, and 253 vehicles were destroyed.

There are about 35,000 armed Russian Guardsmen in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Russian Guard, after the armed forces, is the second most important component of the occupying forces of the Russian Federation. Members of the formation perform the role of rear-guard units to suppress civil resistance. Their responsibilities include conducting filtering activities among the civilian population and identifying members of the underground movement. Half of the 35,000 Russian Guardsmen are regular formations, which are divided into brigades, 5 battalion-tactical groups and 44 tactical groups.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that the invaders launched at least 4 missiles on Kharkiv around 7 am, the type of missiles being established. An enterprise and an educational institution were damaged. A 53-year-old woman was injured, her condition is light. The victim was hospitalised.

The enemy shelled Zmiiv, Chuhuiv region, around 7 am. A private house was damaged. A 90- and a 60-year-old man were rescued from the rubble but another woman remains under it. 

A 63-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman were rescued from the rubble. The woman died. Another 88-year-old man received medical assistance.

Windows were broken at the station and buildings of the Mala Pivdenna Railway in Kharkiv after a russian attack in the morning. In a building rented by Animal Rescue near Central Park in Kharkiv to keep animals rescued from the war zone. More windows were broken in the morning by russian strikes and four dogs were frightened by the loud explosions and ran away, they have been found.  An educational institution in Kyivskyi district was also hit, the third time it has been damaged in the war.

More than 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered artillery and mortar attacks, including: Udy of Bohodukhiv region, Kozacha Lopan of Kharkiv region, Vovchansk of Chuhuiv region, Potykhonove, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Tabaivka of Kupiansk region.  Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region were hit by enemy airstrikes. 

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 2 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka of Kupiansk region. 

The enemy shelled Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, multiple times during the day. 6 houses, 2 industrial workshops and cars were damaged. 

At 11:20 am and 12 pm, the enemy attacked Lyptsi and Hlyboke villages of Kharkiv region. 

At 12 pm, there was a shelling of Slobozhanske village, Kharkiv region. A private storehouse was damaged.

At 12:50 pm, Senkove village, Kupiansk region, was under attack. A 17-year-old boy was injured and hospitalised.

At 1:40 pm, Vesele village, Kharkiv region, suffered enemy shelling. A private house was damaged.

At about 2 pm, the enemy opened fire on Oleksandrivka village, Bohodukhiv region. 3 houses were damaged.

At 2:34 pm, a 50-year-old man was killed in the shelling of Nechvolodivka village, Kupiansk region. A private house was damaged. 

At 10:18 pm, the enemy attacked Kharkiv with S-300 missiles. There were no casualties.

At about 10:50 pm, the enemy attacked Vilcha village, Chuhuiv region. A geriatric boarding house was damaged. There were no casualties.

At night, one of the injured as a result of the shelling of Kharkiv on 2 January, a 56-year-old man, died in hospital as he had been in critical condition for a long time.

Compensation for damaged property in Kharkiv oblast under the yeVidnovlennia programme has reached UAH 1.21 billion.

The abandoned horse complex was shelled by russians more than 30 times. One stable was completely destroyed and another damaged. A small foal was killed and a mare was injured by a piece of debris. It is impossible to legally resolve the issue with the horses because all the documents for the animals have been taken away. Currently, only one groom remains at the farm with 28 horses.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police reported that the invaders shelled 7 settlements: Avdiivka, Kurakhove cities, Hrodivka, Zhelanne settlements, Berdychi, Bohdanivka, Novoselivka Persha villages. Also russian army attacked with aviation, S-300, Smerch, Grad MRLs and artillery. 21 civilian objects were damaged: 15 residential buildings, a school, a kindergarten, an outpatient clinic, an administrative building, an outbuilding and a car.

Talking of Pokrovsk region, 1 person was killed in Avdiivka. In Ocheretyne community, 1 person was injured in Zhelanne and Berdychi shelled. In Marinka community, Krasnohorivka, Konstantinovka and Katerynivka were under attack. In Hrodivka, missiles damaged 10 private buildings, an apartment building and a kindergarten. In Kurakhove, the private sector was targeted.

As of Kramatorsk region, Torske of Lyman community was shelled 5 times, there were no casualties.

In Bakhmut region, a private house and an apartment building were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. An apartment building was damaged in Siversk. Pereizne and Verkhnokamianske of Zvanivka community were shelled.

Veronika Bakhal, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional State Emergency Service, informed that the search continues in Rivne village of Myrnohrad community and Pokrovsk for the casualties of a missile attack on Pokrovsk region on 6 January 2024. Rescuers have already dismantled 115 tonnes of destroyed building elements.

67 primary, secondary and third-level healthcare facilities continue to operate in Donetsk oblast. 53 facilities are equipped with autonomous power sources. 14 healthcare facilities are partially provided with generators to cover critical needs. In addition, 52 institutions are ready to operate in the absence of heat supply.

Luhansk oblast

Despite the low activity of enemy aircraft in Luhansk oblast, russians attacked only Serebrianka forest, the total number of shelling by the enemy only increased to 572 shells. The enemy attacked the border of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts south of Nevske.

Residents of the de-occupied Nevske and neighbouring villages received blankets and sets of dishes. 

School students in Svatove region are being forced to take a unified state exam. Until 2028, it is not compulsory and students from the occupied territory will be accepted to russian universities without it. In 2022, a bit more than two hundred representatives of all graduates of the territories occupied in 2014 took the exam of their choice. Now, six months before graduation, Svatove has started to force people to take this optional exam and 97 people have already been registered in the queue. 

If you want or need to get a russian passport, you should go to the military registration and enlistment office in Sievierodonetsk. Other authorities will not accept documents without a corresponding mark. Men are sent to other settlements for medical examination.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Vitalii Klychko, the mayor of Kyiv, reported that in Kyiv, the number of deaths as a result of rocket attacks by russian troops on January 2 increased to three. One of the wounded died in hospital. As of January 8, 22 people out of those hospitalised after russian missile attacks on the capital on December 29 and January 2 were still in Kyiv hospitals.

According to Bucha Mayor Anatolii Fedoruk, Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa visited the Bucha community on January 7. She paid tribute to the memory of the Bucha residents who died during the russian occupation. The Japanese delegation also visited Irpin, in particular, the Romanivskyi Bridge, which saved nearly 40,000 local residents in 2022. 

According to Kyiv RMA, in the Kyiv oblast, the restoration of buildings damaged by a russian missile attack on January 2 continues.14 apartment buildings and 50 detached houses were damaged. 2 of them were destroyed. All damaged objects were inspected by the relevant commissions. The owners of the damaged buildings are receiving construction materials, if necessary. The UNHCR has joined in to provide assistance.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv RMA, reported that in Vyshneve, the windows in the houses damaged during the last russian attack have been glazed. All damaged windows in the area will be replaced by the international foundation Global Empowerment Mission. The first batch of 127 windows was manufactured in 4 days. Heat, water, electricity and gas supply have already been restored in the buildings.

Yuna, the lioness who was injured in a russian missile attack in Kyiv region on January 2, is feeling better. She has started to get up, but still has problems with coordination. The lioness was injured when the fragments of a russian missile fell 300 metres from her enclosure.

According to Kyiv RMA, Kyiv oblast has handed over another batch of vehicles to the military of the 72nd Mechanized Brigade. Three KrAZ trucks, a crane, an excavator and a minibus have already been delivered to the military. They have also received 200 FPV drones, which are needed to carry out combat missions, a large batch of chemical heating pads and other necessary items.

According to the Kyiv City Council, by January 14, it is collecting suggestions for renaming 14 more city objects whose names are associated with russia and its satellites. This year, the capital plans to complete the process of derussification and decommunisation and rename every city object associated with russia, its soviet and imperial past.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Malyn city council reported that Vladyslav Zalistovskyi, a 23-year-old MiG-29 combat pilot from Zhytomyr oblast, was killed on January 5 while performing a combat mission.

According to Zhytomyr RMA, in the Zhytomyr oblast, 90 certificates for compensation for property destroyed by the russian army worth UAH 100 million have been issued under the eRestoration programme. A total of 124 people have already applied for compensation for destroyed housing. 

In one of the villages in the Troscha Vilshanka community, employees of the local cultural centre have united to form the Berehynia volunteer centre to help the military. Since February 2022, the women have been sewing ammunition, making trench candles, chemical hot water bottles and other items needed on the front line. Recently, the volunteers started sewing trench coats for the military.

Sumy oblast

On the night of January 8, russians fired 4 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 9 explosions. The Znob-Novhorodske, Druzhbivka and Esman communities were shelled.

Due to the difficult weather conditions, a full-time headquarters has been set up in the Shostka community. Also, the Points of Invincibility and shelters located in educational institutions are open 24/7.

Chernihiv oblast

It is reported that russian troops shelled three border communities in Chernihiv oblast with ATGMs, mortars, and cannon artillery.

A family from the village of Velyka Zahorivka, in memory of their fallen son Oleh, used the payments received from the state to buy and donate two vehicles to the 95th Air Assault Brigade.

The Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital received a bed for patients with severe burns from the Unilex Charitable Foundation. Every year, 75-80 children with severe burns are treated at the regional children’s hospital. Their treatment requires special conditions. This bed is a unique optimal treatment environment that supports patients with complex skin injuries. The cost of the equipment is UAH 4.8 million.

The couple in the village of Avhustivka have laid out 11 images of colourful lids on the fence of their cottage. Nina Loboda devotes a lot of time to needlework. And after surviving the explosions at the ammunition depots near her village, she decided to “embroider” her own fence in bright colours.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Yesterday in the evening and closer to midnight the occupiers shelled Nikopol region. They targeted Nikopol and Marhanets. Two five-story buildings, 1 private house, an outbuilding and a car were damaged. There were no casualties.  

Two enemy missiles were shot down by the Air Defense in Dnipro and Pavlohrad regions.

In Novomoskovsk, 27 people were injured as a result of missile attack. 5 of them are children. Boys of 4 and 8 years old. And girls aged 11, 16 and 17. All of them are in moderate condition in the hospital. The blast wave overturned a passing minibus. People got out of the mangled bus on their own. Three administrative buildings, two gas stations, a five-story building and a car were damaged.

There are 4 victims in Kryvyi Rih and the region. One person was hospitalized in moderate condition.

Vinnytsia oblast

The City Council reported that Vinnytsia region has sent another UAV  to the frontline. The aid will be delivered to the soldiers in the northeast in a few days. The equipment will help not only to effectively work out the targets but also to save Ukrainian defenders’ lives.

Kirovohrad oblast

The RMA reported that 3 soldiers from Novoukrainka community of Kirovohrad region were killed. They are Oleh Kurtushan, Dmytro Bocharov and Viktor Sobol. Chief Sergeant Oleh Kurtushan and soldier Dmytro Bocharov lived in Novoukrainka and Sergeant Viktor Sobol lived in Furmanivka village. They were killed during a combat mission.

Poltava oblast

Poltava region paid tribute to three soldiers who were killed while defending Ukraine from the russian invaders. They are Ilia Tsuber, Andriy Tymoshchuk and Yevhen Androsov.

Sergeant Ilya Tsuber who was 51 years old served as a mortar platoon commander and was killed while performing a combat mission. It happened on December 30, 2023, near Hryshyne village in Donetsk region. As a result of an ammunition explosion on a car trailer, Ilia received life-threatening injuries.

41-year-old senior soldier Andrii Tymoshchuk served as a clerk of the missile and artillery service. He was killed in action near Rybne village, Zaporizhzhia region. It happened on January 2, 2024.

31-year-old Junior Sergeant Yevhen Androsov, chief sergeant of an air assault platoon. He died while performing a combat mission. On December 28, 2023, near Novomykhailivka village, Donetsk region, there was a battle with the russian occupiers. The defender received deadliest injuries.

Cherkasy oblast

Sergii Ananko, Mayor of Smila, announced that in the city, as of January 8, 7 houses that cannot be restored after a missile strike were dismantled. 2 houses remain to be demolished. So far, 113 appeals have been registered from locals regarding the consequences of the russian shelling. The commission has processed the appeals and determined what assistance is needed. The blast wave also damaged 365 windows.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

This morning, the enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia. Due to a combined attack with cruise and ballistic missiles from various directions, a total of 5 explosions occurred in the regional center. According to preliminary data reported by Iurii Malashko, the head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, the russian army used “Iskander” and “S-400” missiles. The missiles hit critical and civilian infrastructure in the city. The attack caused broken windows in several multi-story buildings and damaged 6 buildings in the private sector. A car caught fire on a 2 square meter area, which emergency services promptly extinguished. Five people were injured and received medical assistance.

After the shelling of Zaporizhzhia, rescuers set up a “Center of invicibility.” Representatives of the Red Cross are also present there, providing assistance, hot tea, and heating for the city’s residents. According to Oksana Beketova, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, every family affected by the russian shelling will receive humanitarian aid, including food, hygiene kits, blankets, and warm clothing.

Yesterday, russian military personnel launched 96 strikes on 22 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The occupiers carried out 3 MLRS attacks on Novoivanivka and Mala Tokmachka, as well as 23 UAV attacks on Huliaipole, Novodarivka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, and Poltavka. 70 artillery strikes hit the areas of Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Chervone, Bilohiria, Levadne, Preobrazhenka, Robotyne, Kamianske, Piatykhatky, Plavni, and other towns and villages on the front line. Four reports of residential building destruction were received.

Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled an enemy attack west of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, the russian occupation army shelled the city of Ochakiv and Ochakiv community. The attack resulted in damage to an infrastructure object, but there were no reported casualties. Additionally, during the night of January 8, air defense forces successfully intercepted and shot down a Shahed 131/136 type combat drone over Mykolaiv oblast. This information was provided by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

Mykolaiv continues to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fight against the occupiers. The city’s community handed over assistance to the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade, consisting of five full-drive Mitsubishi L200 pickups. This was reported by Mykolaiv City Council.

As of January 8, nearly 22K various caliber munitions found during demining have been destroyed in Mykolaiv oblast. Emergency services from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have surveyed 6,800 hectares of the region’s territory. The demining operations involve 9,185 pyrotechnicians and identifiers. Odesa oblast

During the night of January 7, seven russian drones of the Shahed-131/136 type were shot down over Odesa oblast. The debris from one of the downed drones fell on open territory in the region, causing a fire. There were no casualties or damage among the local population. In total, the russian army launched eight drones from the Black Sea towards Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts. This information was provided by the “South” Operational Command.

On January 7, 2024, the premiere of the documentary film “Odesa: Changing the Code” took place in Odesa. The film explores the impact of individuals on the development of self-awareness among many Ukrainians. These individuals were involved in creating artistic works, collecting humanitarian aid, providing shelter, sending drones to the front lines, and reshaping the perception of history.

Kherson oblast

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 131 shelling attacks, firing 670 projectiles from mortars, artillery, “Grad” MLRS, tanks, drones, and aviation. The enemy fired 16 projectiles at the city of Kherson. Due to russian aggression, 2 people lost their lives, and 5 others were wounded. 

According to the “South” Operational Command, russian forces attacked Respublikanets, Zmiivka, and Chervonyi Maiak with 8 guided aerial bombs. A shop and over a dozen private houses were damaged. The enemy continues to actively use FPV drones and other modifications of UAVs to drop fragmentation ammunition on the populated areas of the right bank of Kherson oblast. They hit Stanislav, Kachkarivka, Mykolaivka, Ivanivka, Prydniprovske, Mykhailivka, Novoberyslav, Mykilske, and Beryslav in Kherson oblast using 7 FPV and 19 explosive devices. There were no civilian casualties reported.

Over the past day, occupiers conducted 13 artillery attacks on settlements, hitting Kherson 6 times. Sadove, Antonivka, Mykilske, Mykhailivka, Respublikanets in Kherson oblast, Ochakiv, and Dmytrivka in Mykolaiv oblast were shelled with artillery. Damages included a drinking water reservoir, the territory of a factory, 12 private houses, and 3 sections of a gas pipeline.

In the zone of responsibility of the operational-strategic group “Odesa”, Ukrainian forces continue their actions to expand the bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson oblast. Having significant and systematic losses in the course of assault operations, the occupiers attempted to restore the activity of aviation, reducing the number of sorties to 3 per day. They directed 8 unguided aerial bombs towards the bridgeheads. At the same time, enemy units conduct aerial reconnaissance, exert pressure with artillery bombardments, and continue to use combat drones on the front-line settlements. Over the past day, confirmed losses of the enemy amounted to 7 occupiers, 1 Grad multiple launch rocket system, 1 BTR-80, 5 cannons, 1 mortar, and 15 units of armored vehicles. Two observation posts and a field supply point were destroyed.

Residents of liberated and front-line communities, as well as displaced persons and representatives of socially vulnerable population groups with personal plots, can receive vegetable seeds for the spring sowing. Distribution of planting material will be carried out through rural councils under the coordination of the All-Ukrainian Association of Communities. This project is implemented by the USAID AGRO Program within the framework of the “Resilience of Agriculture” Initiative (AGRI-Ukraine). Companies Bayer and Syngenta have also joined the project by providing various seeds. Bayer will provide 1,032 kg of seeds for carrots, zucchinis, watermelons, tomatoes, bell peppers, and cabbage. Syngenta plans to contribute seeds for cabbage, tomatoes, zucchinis, onions, cucumbers, and sweet corn. This will be sufficient to supply seeds to over 100K households.

Residents of the villages Kozatske and Vesele received fuel materials. Thanks to the NGO “Zberezhy Ukrainu” (Save Ukraine) Nova Kakhovka community received 250 tons of briquettes.

After another attack by the occupiers, volunteers from the humanitarian center “Proliska Kherson” provided 35 Kherson residents, whose homes were affected by shelling, with building kits, OSB sheets, and tarpaulin. This support was made possible through the UNHCR Ukraine.

Krasnensk Town Council sent rechargeable batteries and various auto parts for the repair of damaged cargo vehicles, vans of the Armed Forces, which were damaged or which need to be restored to proper condition, worth UAH 200K , to the 420th rifle battalion.

In Truskavets, the Warm Hub for IDPs from Berdyansk region has opened. Here everyone will be able to get the necessary help, consultation and support in case of any difficulties.

Rivne oblast

Within the scope of cooperation with the USAID HOVERLA project, 10 communities of the oblast received financial aid for a total amount of over UAH 71 mln. Partnership with the project began in June 2022. The key goal of HOVERLY is to promote and implement the decentralization reform by supporting local self-government bodies. Strengthening their capacity and effectiveness of service provision, as well as accountability to citizens.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil City Council reported that the city is implementing a program to support veterans to create their own business. Veterans will be provided with financial support on a free and non-refundable basis for the implementation of entrepreneurial projects and for the creation (development) of their own business. The program envisages conducting relevant training, seminars for war veterans and their family members, and promoting participation in international experience exchange programs.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi City Council reported that russia committed another terrorist attack against the community. Air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 2 missiles. One of the infrastructure facilities was hit. The building was damaged. 2 people were killed. Windows in houses and businesses were also damaged. There are fires that are localized and eliminated by emergency personnel.

Chernivtsi oblast

A Volkswagen Caravelle minibus was sent to the units of the Regional Administration of the Territorial Defense Forces Zachid from Sweden. The car is in good technical condition, so it will help servicemen of the Territorial Defense Forces to perform important military tasks.
