War in Ukraine today: latest news, February 9, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 351st day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

The russian federation continues to conduct a full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine. The enemy does not abandon its intentions to destroy the critical infrastructure of our state, and continues to strike civilian targets and residents’ homes. 

The enemy, trying to take full control of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, continues to focus its main efforts on offensive operations towards Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka.

The enemy inflicted 41 air and 3 missile strikes, 2 of which were on the civilian infrastructure of the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk oblast. He also carried out 32 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems, in particular on civilian infrastructure in Donetsk and Kherson oblasts.

There remains a threat of further Russian air and missile strikes launched throughout Ukraine.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda, the situation is unchanged, no signs of offensive groups formed have been found. 

Over 20 settlements were shelled, namely Hai, Chernihiv oblast; Seredyno- Buda, Bruski, Atyn, Stepok, Sumy oblast, Udy, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Mali Prokhody, Starytsia, Dvorichna, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, Kupiansk, Peshchane, Kharkiv oblast and Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova, Serebriansk forestry of Luhansk oblast were hit by fire.

Towards Bakhmut, the settlements of Mykolaivka, Spirne, Vesele, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Krasna Hora, Chasiv Yar, Bakhmut, Pivnichne, Maiorsk of Donetsk oblast were shelled. 

Towards Avdiivka and Novopavlivka, tank, mortar and artillery shelling hit the areas of Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Bohoiavlenka, Novomykhailivka, Zolota Nyva, Prechystivka, Vuhledar of Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the areas of Vremivka and Novopil of Donetsk oblast, Olhivske, Huliaipole, Stepove, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Orikhiv, Charivne, Zaporizhzhia oblastsuffered fire damage. 

Towards Kherson direction, 16 settlements suffered from enemy fire, including Kachkarivka, Tokarivka, Vesele, Antonivka, Berehove and Kherson.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. To hide the death toll, on the territory of the Prydniprovska Biotes enterprise in the city of Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia oblast, russian invaders set up a mobile crematorium. Locals complain of a constant corpse stench in the southeastern part of the city, especially at night.

Aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine inflicted 13 strikes on buildups of personnel and military equipment of the occupiers and 2 strikes on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems. 

The air defense forces shot down 3 enemy UAVs 2 Orlan-10 and 1 – Orion.

Units of rocket troops and artillery hit 2 enemy control points, 2 buildups of manpower, an ammunition depot and an air defense position.


The State Statistics Service reveals that in January 2023, inflation  increased by 0.8 %, but in annual terms it slowed down from 26.6 % to 26 %.

Adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Mykhailo Podoliak said that SpaceX has taken certain measures to prevent the Ukrainian military from using the Starlink satellite Internet to control drones in the war zone. “A year of resistance of Ukraine, and companies must decide for themselves: either they are on the side of the right to a free life and Ukraine – and then they do not figure out how to harm; or they are on the side of the russian federation and its ‘right’ to kill, seize territories,” said Mykhailo Podoliak .

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Yesterday, the enemy massively shelled the border settlements of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions.

At least 23 settlements were under enemy attack. In Kotliarivka and Tabaivka, the enemy used combat aircraft.

As a result of massive shelling of the Chuhuiv region, 5 civilians, including a child, were injured and hospitalized.

In Vovchansk, apartment and private buildings and the building of the State Emergency Service were damaged, fires broke out.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that two people were killed in Dvorichna, the Kupiansk region, as a result of the shelling. In Kupiansk, private residential buildings were damaged.

The enemy is actively shelling the border settlements of the oblast located near the contact line with mortars and artillery.

At about 9 am, the invaders attacked Kupiansk city. A residential building was almost destroyed. There were also attacks in Dvorichna.

After 10 am, the enemy targeted the Kharkiv region with artillery and mortars. Krasne and Vesele were under attack.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, at around 12 am, russian troops launched 14 mortar attacks on the Bohodukhiv region. Chervona Zoria and Udy were shelled and there were no casualties. 

Donetsk oblast

Around midnight, russians shelled the relatively remote from the front Hrodivka community with artillery – one person was injured and a church damaged in Novoekonomichne. The outskirts of Kramatorsk were shelled, damaging the territory of an enterprise.

Towards Volnovakha, 2 buildings in Bohoiavlenka of the Vuhledar community and a building in Bahatyr were damaged by a missile attack.

Towards Donetsk, there were 5 attacks in the Kurakhove community. Novoselydove suffered the most: a kindergarten, an outpatient clinic, a family leisure center, a residential building and an enterprise were damaged. The outskirts of Kurakhove and Trudove were also hit, with no casualties.

Towards Horlivka, russians launched a missile attack on Kostiantynivka and shelled Ivanopillia twice with artillery, damaging a building and a warehouse. A 9-story building was damaged in Niu-York.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that towards Lysychansk, a two-storey residential building in Siversk was damaged, no casualties.

Luhansk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, yesterday, the invaders shelled Bilohorivka, Dibrova, Kreminna, Kuzmine, Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka with tanks, mortars and artillery of various types.

The Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that russians launched an airstrike on the Serebrianka forestry near Kreminna.

Russian troops are trying to ‘push through’ the Ukrainian defense towards Kreminna. However, they have no significant success.

The enemy continues to shell the de-occupied villages of Luhansk oblast around the clock: Makiivka, Nevske and Novoselivske are being destroyed to the ground.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, informed that Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Terminator combat vehicle of russian troops near Kreminna. Russians believed that this tank support fighting vehicle was almost impossible to destroy. 

Referring to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the use of a Ukrainian passport in the occupied territories will be subject to a 10-year license restriction.

The invaders in Sievierodonetsk are preparing a hospital to provide surgical care to injured russian soldiers. Previously, the injured were taken deep into the territories. Due to the large number of injured, medical facilities in frontline settlements are being converted into hospitals.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The headquarters of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in order to counter the Shahed drone, mobile fire groups have been created in the units of the Group of Forces and Means of Defense of Kyiv, the number of which is constantly increasing. Preparing a crew for battle takes no more than one minute. Work is also underway to improve their technical equipment. A mobile fire group can also destroy cruise missiles and other air targets.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Mary Hakobyan met with Deputy Head of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Isobel Coleman and US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink. They discussed further directions of cooperation regarding the improvement of the equipment of operational and rescue service units. USAID representatives also visited the Invincibility Centre, deployed at the base of one of Kyiv’s fire departments, where they talked with firefighters involved in eliminating the consequences of missile attacks in the capital.

The SBGS reported that heads of border services of Ukraine and Latvia met in Kyiv. During the meeting, Serhii Deineko and Guntis Puyats discussed cooperation in terms of further European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. The head of the SBGS told about activities of the border agency in war conditions and the situation on the contact line. Latvian colleagues handed over 30 night vision devices to the border guards.

Mayor Vitalii Klychko said that Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo visited Kyiv and spoke in the session hall of the Kyiv City Council. Ann Hidalgo visited the capital of Ukraine for the second time during the full-scale war. The French delegation handed over 10 generators to the city.

The KCSA reported that Finland’s experience in protection of energy infrastructure facilities can be applied to Kyiv. It concerns training of Ukrainian specialists, principles and methods of protection, bringing legislative norms into compliance with security requirements of such objects in the future.

The Kyiv RMA reported that 1,085 shelters have been set up in educational institutions of Kyiv oblast. Recently, in one of the communities of the Obukhiv region, shelters were installed in 6 educational institutions. There are areas for children to study and relax and all necessary communications.

The Kyiv City State Administration reported that the capital’s Vcentri Hub conducts entrepreneurship courses for resettled women. They are taught how to create their own business and further develop it. After the completion of the project, the organizers will continue to maintain contact with the participants of the courses and help attract finance for the implementation of their ideas. The project was initiated by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund, White Ribbon Ukraine and the YaMariupol. Kyiv center.

Zhytomyr oblast

576 Invincibility Centres in Zhytomyr oblast operate 24 hours a day. According to the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Zhytomyr oblast, 166 centres were opened by responsible businesses, 54 by the State Emergency Service, 310 by local governments and executive authorities. 4 centres are located at railway stations.

Specialists of the State Emergency Service and volunteers of UNICEF Ukraine visited two lyceums in Zhytomyr oblast and a kindergarten in Korosten. The rescuers explained the rules of life safety, the handling of suspicious objects and reminded them of the algorithm of actions during the “Air Alarm” signal.

The volunteer headquarters of the “Ukrainian team” of Zhytomyr oblast is resuming training on pre-medical care. In December 2022, more than 100 people in Zhytomyr and Berdychiv completed such training using the MARCH algorithm. Participation is free. Theoretical knowledge is consolidated practically, after completing the training, participants receive certificates.

Sumy oblast

The enemy shelled the communities of Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Esman, Nova Sloboda, Yunakivka, and Seredino-Buda. As reported by the Sumy RMA, a total of 87 mortar and artillery strikes, as well as 8 machine gun rounds, were recorded. There is no destruction and casualties among the civilians of Sumy oblast.

The Sumy RMA reported that in the morning, the enemy reminded us of himself by dropping VOG ammunition from an unmanned aerial vehicle on the territory of the Bilopillia community. It was possible to avoid casualties and destruction.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that in the north of Sumy oblast, 9 hits from a 120 mm mortar were recorded in the area of Boiaro Lezhachi of the Novoslobodsk community. There are no losses among personnel and equipment. No information was received about losses among the local population or damage to civil infrastructure.

The Sumy RMA reported that the situation in Sumy oblast is under control, the presence of offensive enemy groups near the border of the oblast is not observed. Military units are in designated positions, planned exercises are being conducted, engineering and fortification defense structures built.

The Krolevetsk Hospital received seven R5500 generators with a capacity of 3 kW as part of the UNITED 24 project – Medical Procurement of Ukraine. The new generators will ensure uninterrupted operation of the facility’s structural units. A modern ambulance was recently delivered to the Krolevetsk substation. Now three specialized vehicles are on duty.

The President of the AICM Foundation, Christian Karrer, together with his team, arrived in Trostianets for the fourth time with humanitarian aid, which in monetary terms is estimated at UAH 2.5 millions. A van with humanitarian cargo and two cars contained a lot of necessary things for the equipment of Points of Invincibility and houses for complex living of IDPs: heaters, generators, mattresses, blankets, bed linen, as well as medical and hygienic means, medicines – for institutions providing primary and secondary care medical assistance.

The First Sumy Humanitarian Headquarters handed over humanitarian aid to the Society for the Protection of Animals: 112 kg of dry and 3 boxes of wet fodder for the puppies, 50 dishes. There are about 300 dogs and a little less cats in the shelter of the Sumy Society for the Protection of Animals. The organization is non-profit and exists at the expense of charitable contributions.

Ukrzaliznytsia introduced a new train from Sumy oblast to Ternopil No. 769/770 Khutir-Mykhailivskyi – Kyiv – Ternopil. It will connect Sumy oblast with Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil oblasts.

Chernihiv oblast

The Chernihiv RMA reported that two people were killed and two more injured as a result of yesterday’s airstrike on an industrial building at the branch of the Irvantsivskyi Peat Plant of SE “Chernihivtorf” in the village of Kuty Druhi, Novhorod-Siverskyi region (Semenivka community). As of the morning of February 9, the debris removal has been completed. In total, 15 personnel of the State Emergency Service in the region and 45 people of the local population, 4 units of special equipment, 3 cranes and 3 loaders were involved in the liquidation of the missile strike consequences.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that russian occupation forces continue to shell the border areas of Chernihiv oblast. Yesterday, Novhorod-Siverskyi (more than 20 hits) and Semenivka communities came under enemy shelling. Today, the enemy shelled the Horodna community in the village of Senkivka. 4 hits from a 120 mm mortar were recorded. There are no losses among the personnel and equipment.

Volunteers of the Chernihiv SOS and Semargl charitable foundations packaged and delivered humanitarian aid to the families of soldiers who died in the russian-Ukrainian war. The Kyiv City State Administration provided assistance to certain categories of Chernihiv residents.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the enemy shelled the Nikopol region with heavy artillery, hitting a residential quarter. As a result of the attack, a man born in 1985 was killed in Nikopol. At least 16 residential buildings and one private enterprise were damaged. 7 outbuildings were mutilated, and another one was destroyed. Two cars, power grids, and a gas line were also affected.

Head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA Serhii Lysak reported that the aggressor hit Marganets with heavy artillery twice during the day. A 12-year-old girl and two women — 52 and 60 years old — were injured. They have been hospitalized. 4 outbuildings, several solar panels, power lines, and gas and water pipes were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

The Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters purchased chemical heaters for servicemen of Vinnytsia serving on the front lines. The modern means of heating was one of the latest requests of the military with whom the coordinators of the Headquarters constantly communicate.

Kirovohrad oblast

Hlib Hontarenko, a 10-year-old native from the village of Dobrovelychkivka in Kirovohrad oblast, makes avatars – digital portraits – in the form of popular NFT monkeys for everyone. The schoolboy transfers the money to the Ukrainian military. It will be donated through Dobrovelychkivka and Kroprypnytskyi volunteers.

Hospitals in Kirovohrad oblast received a powerful generator from UNICEF. The Znamianka Regional Balneological Hospital received a generator with a capacity of almost 200 kW from an international fund.

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, Centers of Invincibility in Poltava oblast have received 45 Starlink satellite Internet communication terminals thanks to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Polish government.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Head of the Cherkasy State Administration Ihor Taburets, thanks to the Viktor and Karolina Yevpak Foundation, Cherkasy oblast handed over 40 tactical headphones to Territorial Defense soldiers. It is a very necessary thing in places where artillery works. The 24th separate assault battalion “Aidar” also received a drone. It was purchased as part of an internal campaign in the RMA to support the Armed Forces. In addition, a generator from the Historical and Cultural Center of the City of Uman was delivered.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the situation did not undergo significant changes. The enemy concentrated its main efforts on holding the occupied positions, firing 114 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders with tanks, rocket and barrel artillery along the entire line of contact.

According to the National Security Service in Zaporizhzhia oblast, the occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the settlements of  Shcherbaky, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Novodarivka, Kamianske, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Varvarivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Olhivske, Charivne, Chervone, Temyrivka, Bilohiria, Novoandriivka, Novomykolaivka, Stepove, Lukianivske.

12  reports were received about the destruction of  houses (apartments) of citizens and infrastructure objects as a result of shelling by russian military personnel.

In the settlement of Kohane, Zaporizhzhia oblast, the russian occupation troops are engaged in mass looting.

In order to conceal the death toll, the russian invaders set up a mobile crematorium at one of the enterprises in Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Local residents complain about the constant stench of corpses in the southeastern district of the city, especially at night.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Vitalii Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, yesterday, a settlement of the Ochakiv community came under enemy artillery fire. As a result, residential buildings were damaged. There were no casualties. 

On February 8, Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov paid a working visit to Odesa. The Lithuanian guest assured that Lithuania would continue to help Ukraine in the war against russia. Air defense assistance against Iranian drones remains a priority.

Odesa oblast

According to the report of the Ukrainian Navy, there is 1 ship on combat duty in the Black Sea.  

Maksym Marchenko, Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration reported, that the liquidation of the consequences of a large-scale accident in the high-voltage grid continues in Odesa oblast.  The situation has now improved somewhat due to the connection of generators to critical infrastructure facilities. Power was supplied to the Odesa region and the city of Odesa.

Kherson oblast

According to the Kherson RMA, russian invaders attacked the region 39 times, shelling civilian settlements with artillery, MRLs and mortars.

Towards Kherson, Antonivka, Berehove, Beryslav, Kherson, Lvove, Shliakhove, Tiahynka, Veletenske, Yantarne and Zmiivka settlements were under enemy attack.

Kherson was attacked 6 times – they shelled residential areas of the city. Enemy shells hit a children’s rehabilitation centre and residential buildings. 

Yesterday, 3 people were killed  and 4 residents injured due to the russian shelling, including a 15-year-old boy, with various degrees of severity.

At about 3 pm, the Air Defense of the ‘South’ Air Command eliminated an enemy Orion reconnaissance and strike drone.

The UN delegation visited Kherson oblast. The delegation includes Denise Brown, UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine, Sarah Hilding, Head of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Murat Shahin, Head of the UNICEF Office in Ukraine. International partners delivered NFI, hygiene products, repair kits, medicines and medical equipment to Kherson with a humanitarian convoy.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that in Volyn, territorial defense units continue training on identifying and destroying enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

Zakarpattia oblast

The Main Department of the State Service for Emergency Situations of the Zakarpattia Region informs that Uzhhorod rescuers conducted a safety lesson for students of Unikum Lyceum.

Ukrenergo informs that power consumption limits will be completely removed for one day in each oblasts in turn to determine exactly how much each oblast consumes under the condition of normal operation of the power system. The power will not be turned off in Zakarpattia oblast on February 13.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

In the RMA, a meeting with representatives of the international medical and humanitarian non-profit organization Medics Without Borders was held.  Humanitarian, social and psychological assistance for IDPs living in Prykarpattia was discussed.

Head of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, visited the defenders of the 78th Territorial Defense Battalion, the 102nd Brigade on the front line. He handed over Mavika drones, generators, a thermal imager, equipment for dugouts, shovels, etc. and awarded the defenders with For Honor and Victory awards and watches on behalf of the community.

The RMA reported that Carpathian rescuers received protective uniforms (pants and protective jackets of various levels of insulation) from benefactors from Germany.

Lviv oblast

In the RMA a meeting with representatives of participating enterprises of the European Business Association was held. They discussed exemption from mobilization of critical enterprises’ employees, schedules of power outages, etc.

Two cars, batteries and trench candles were sent to the soldiers of the 24th brigade in the Yavoriv region from Help Heroes Of Ukraine.

The RMA reported that eight medical institutions of Lviv oblast received generators from the Unimot Ukraine LLC and Unimot S.A.

Invincibility Centers of Lviv oblast will receive 50 Starlinks. This aid of UAH 1.3 million was provided by Lviv IT Cluster. The terminals will be received by regional military administrations and directed to the communities of the oblast.

The RMA reported that the Irish company Kingspan is investing over EUR 200 million in building a construction technology campus in Ukraine. 

The RMA reported that children of IDPs living in the Sokal community visited the patriotic tourist site Hawk’s Nest located in the Radehiv region. A three-hour entertainment program Territory of Christmas was prepared for children.

Rivne oblast

In the RMA, a meeting with Head of Luhansk oblast, Serhii Haidai, was held. Experience of defending the oblast, preparation for the defense of the border, etc. were discussed.

Head of the Rivne RMA Vitalii Koval held a meeting with heads of communities of the Sarne region. They discussed the preparation of settlements for the circular defense of the oblast and formation of the Offensive Guard.

The RMA reported that residents of the Antoniv community donated over 2 tonnes of food for the military. 

The Ostroh region received humanitarian aid. The city of Gundelfingen (Germany) sent a generator with a capacity of 56 kW. It will be used during a power outage for the needs of the Ostroh Vodokanal. The French city of Meung-sur-Loire donated two less powerful generators and their equipment. Gas stoves, blankets, sleeping bags came from the partner city of Moravian Berown in the Czech Republic. Fabric for sewing fleeces, electric kettles and dressing materials were sent from Poland. All aid was collected in the Polish sister city of Berun, and from there it was sent to Ostroh.

Ternopil oblast

The Ternopil City Council will compensate entrepreneurs up to 50% of the cost of generators, but no over UAH 30K. The equipment must be purchased after February 24, 2022 and have a rated power of 3 kW or more.

Rescuers of Ternopil oblast received 4 diesel heat guns of indirect heating, produced by Master Climate Solutions. This equipment provides a flow of warm clean air at the exit, is free of toxic waste products and capable of heating a room for many people.

The RMA reported that another evacuation train with IDPs in need of medical help has arrived in Ternopil.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that as of February 2, 88 619 persons were registered in the Unified Information Database on IDPs in Bukovina, of which: 60 658 families, 28 645 children, 3 349 persons with disabilities, 2 402 registered IDPs since 2014, 18 459 transit IDPs (left /moved). The largest number of displaced persons came from Kyiv – 17 555 people (20%), Kharkiv oblast – 14 502 people (16%) and Donetsk oblast – 12 658 people (14%). It is worth noting that since the war began, the oblast has accepted 108 801 IDPs, of which 36 006 are children.

In Bukovina a meeting with heads of regional military administrations, territorial communities and recruitment and social support centers was held. They discussed the formation of a separate rifle battalion.

During an the meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Council on mental health care and provision of psychological assistance to persons who suffered as a result of the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine was reported that Bukovyna is one of the five oblasts of Ukraine that are best provided with psychological service workers covering 78% of needs.

Secretary General of the Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, announced that since the war began, NATO allies have provided Ukraine with military, humanitarian and financial aid in the total amount of about $120 billion.

Germany sent Ukraine another batch of aid for the front. This is evidenced by the updated list of aid on the website of the Federal Government of Germany Bundesregierung, according to which Ukraine received: 2 Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and 6K anti-aircraft ammunition, 5 cars for border guards, 29 electric generators, 6 trucks with a hook loading system, 6 mobile antenna systems and 10 containers.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that Challenger tanks will be on the battlefield in just a few weeks. Britain will begin training Ukrainian pilots on Western fighter jets.

Prime Minister of Portugal, Antonio Costa, announced that  next month, his country will send three tanks to Ukraine.

The Swedish Parliament approved military aid to Ukraine for over $400 million. It includes anti-tank weapons, demining equipment, Robot 57 light anti-tank weapons and Swedish CV90 infantry fighting vehicles.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Rishi Sunak signed the London Declaration covering military aid, sanctions against russia and reconstruction of Ukraine.

As part of his visit to Great Britain, President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, visited the Bovington Camp military base, where Ukrainian servicemen are trained.

Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, announced that Poland is ready to send modern fighter jets to Ukraine, but first it should be done by those NATO member states that have more of them.

Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kallas said that EU member states should jointly buy weapons and ammunition for Ukraine.

Prime Minister of Portugal, Antonio Costa, said that his country has no “red lines” in the issue of providing fighter jets to Ukraine.

Emmanuel Macron awarded Volodymyr Zelenskyy with the Legion of Honor. It is the highest award in France, awarded by the president for military or civilian merit.

The EU Foreign Policy Service published a report on disinformation and manipulation of facts in the global information space in 2022, in which it called russia the main disinformation country of the year.

The US boxing team refused to participate in the World Championship due to the participation of russian and belarusian boxers.
