It has been the 722 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

On February 15, there were 51 combat clashes. The enemy launched a total of 30 missile and 56 air strikes, carried out 70 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks resulted in killed and wounded civilians. Residential private and apartment buildings, educational establishments and critical infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, no significant changes occurred. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Okhrimivka, Nesterne, Budarky, Chorne, and Kolodyazne (Kharkiv oblast). Around 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Velyka Pysarivka, Volodymyrivka, Oleksandrivka (Sumy oblast), Kudiivka, Krasne, Starytsya, Vovchansk,and  Okhrimivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 1 attack in the vicinity of Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast), where the enemy launched an airstrike. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kotlyarivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 assaults near Terny, Yampolivka and Vesele (Donetsk oblast). In that area the adversary made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novolyubivka, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, and Novosadove (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka, and Torske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 9 attacks in the vicinities of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers, with air support, made attempts to improve their tactical situation. Moreover, the invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Niu York (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, and Ivanivske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 attacks in the vicinity of Avdiivka and 1x more attack near Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the occupiers, with air support, continue their attempts to capture Avdiivka. On top of that, the russian occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novoselivka Persha, Berdychi, Orlivka, and Lastochkyne (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at up to 20 settlements, including Oleksandropil’, Novokalynove, Berdychi, Lastochkyne, and Sievierne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobjeda, Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the adversary, with air support, made 17 attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Paraskoviivka (Donetsk oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 attacks south of Prechystivka and near Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). The enemy launched air strikes near the settlements of Vodyane, Shevchenko, Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), and Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Urozhaine, and Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy conducted no offensives. More than 20 settlements, including Malynivka, Chervone, Bilohiria, Robotyne, and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, Odesa operational-strategic group, the occupiers have not abandoned their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. During the day, the enemy made 1 attempt to assault positions of Ukrainian troops. The city of Kherson, the settlements of Inzhenerne, Veletenske (Kherson oblast), and the city of Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast) came under artillery fire.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 12 buildups of russian troops.

The Ukrainian rocket troops hit 2 buildups of enemy troops, 1 artillery system, 1 ammunition depot, and 1 electronic warfare station of the russian invaders.

The Decree of the President of Ukraine dated 05.02. 2024 No. 49/2024 says that the term of martial law in Ukraine has been extended from February 14 for 90 days. 

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine informs that the government extended payments to IDPs until March 1, 2024. After that, payments will be extended automatically for another 6 months for some categories of IDPs, and for some IDPs – upon request.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

16 settlements of the Kharkiv region were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks: Udy, Strilecha, Vovchansk, Nesterne, Chugunivka, Dvorichanske. This was reported in OVA.

00:05 The enemy launched a rocket attack on the city of Chuguiv. A 67-year-old woman died as a result of the impact. A residential building was completely destroyed and 3 private houses located next to each other were partially destroyed. Window glazing and roofs were damaged in 7 houses. About 300 consumers lost power as a result of missile strikes on Chuguiev, the Ministry of Energy reported.

At 4:16 p.m., the enemy launched a missile attack on the S-300. Veliky Burluk of the Kupyan district. Hitting a two-story apartment building and another next to it. So far, it is known about ten wounded and injured civilians as a result of yesterday’s shelling of residential buildings in the village of Velikiy Burluk. As of 1:00 p.m. on February 15, five dead civilians are known – three women, aged 74, 54, and 27, and two men, aged 41 and 53, respectively. Among the injured are three men: 60, 60, 55 years old and two women, 65 and 49 years old. All the injured were given medical assistance. The search and rescue operation is ongoing.

More than 10 people lived in a two-story house in Veliky Burluka, destroyed by the Russian Federation, Viktor Tereshchenko, the head of the village’s military administration, said. All residents of the building who survived the attack of the Russian Federation on February 14 were injured to varying degrees. They remain in the hospital, one resident refused medical assistance. Whether the house is subject to restoration will be known after the examination.

Around 14:20, the enemy attacked the village. Hnylytsia of the Kupyan district. Hitting the sports field near the school. No casualties were recorded.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed 1 attack near Ivanivka.

Over the course of the day, the region’s explosives experts demined 12.6 hectares of territory and neutralized 310 explosive objects.

According to Serhiy Bolvinov, head of the Police Investigation Department, 2,406 people have died in Kharkiv Oblast since the beginning of the invasion, 86 of them children.

The concentration of oil products in three rivers of the Kharkiv Region exceeded the norm by 7-8 times, in the Nemyshli River by 95 times. Olga Kuznetsova, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Inspectorate, told about this. According to her, as of February 13, no oil stains have reached the Siverskyi Donets River.

Losses from oil pollution as a result of an attack on an oil depot in Kharkiv amount to about 30 million hryvnias, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strelets reported preliminary data. In total, as of February 15, more than 3,800 cases of environmental damage due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine were recorded, the total amount of damage already exceeds 2.2 trillion hryvnias.

Donetsk oblast

The occupation forces attacked civilians 21 times. The enemy used missiles, S-300, Tornado-S, Smerch MRLs and artillery.

17 settlements were under attack: Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Mykolaivka, Novohrodivka, Selydove, Chasiv Yar cities, Kurakhivka, Shcherbynivka, Yasnohirka settlements, Bahatyr, Halytsynivka, Vovchenka, Keramik, Novobakhmutivka, Orlivka, Predtechyne, Soloviove villages.

37 civilian objects were damaged, such as 24 residential buildings, a hospital, shops, a pharmacy, cars, a garage and critical infrastructure.

Towards Volnovakha, a 26-year-old man and a pensioner born in 1938 were killed in Bahatyr of Velyka Novosilka community as a result of a Smerch MRLs strike. A 38-year-old shop assistant and a 30-year-old local, who was near the shop, sustained shrapnel wounds. The store, a pharmacy and 7 private houses came under fire.

Towards Pokrovsk, Avdiivka suffered isolated attacks. Krasnohorivka, Kostyantynivka and Maksymilianivka of Marinka community were shelled. Selydove suffered two missile attacks during the day. Last night russians launched the first  strike at the hospital, killing three people, two women and a child, and injuring six, including an infant. At night a missile hit a religious site, damaging at least 12 residential buildings. A man was wounded in Kurakhove community, Kurakhove and Vovchenka were shelled. Novohrodivka was shelled twice  The invaders ha wounded three civilians, damaged 16 apartment buildings, a department store and a kindergarten. 

Towards Kramatorsk, Torske, Zarichne and Yampil of Lyman community and Yasnohirka of Kramatorsk community were shelled. The outskirts of Kostiantynivka community were under attack. Also russians hit Yasnohirka with an S-300 missile, damaging three houses.

Towards Bakhmut, a house was damaged in Serebrianka of Siversk community and in Shcherbynivka of Toretsk community. Two private houses were damaged in community.

The invaders shelled Mykolayivka with Tornado-S MRLs, killing three people and injuring one. Two apartment buildings, 8 private houses and warehouse were damaged.

In total, russians targeted settlements in Donetsk oblast 21 times. 39 people, including  7 children, were evacuated from the frontline,

Anatolii Nemchenko, Head of the City Military Administration, reported that as of morning 15 February, 11 people, who were injured as a result of the shelling at Selydove on 14 February, are in hospital of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Another woman in critical condition was taken to a hospital in Dnipro.

The invaders are redeploying units towards Bakhmut from other parts of the frontline and are trying to attack Chasiv Yar through Bohdanivka. Yesterday Ukrainian troops destroyed over 120 pieces of equipment in this area, said Illia Yevlash, Head of the press service of Khortytsia operational-strategic group.

Dmytro Lykhovii, Spokesman of Tavriia operational-stragetic group informed that towards Avdiivka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine used a reserve road to ensure supplies to the city and evacuate the city. Street fighting has been going on in the city for several days. Also russian army is using armoured groups and infantry in its assaults.

The 3rd Separate Mechanised Brigade confirmed that they have been redeployed to Avdiivka to reinforce Ukrainian troops. Separate battalions raided areas of the city seized by russian army.  According to Andrii Biletsky, Commander of the 3rd Brigade, the enemy forces in this area amount to approximately 7 brigades. The situation in the city at the time of the brigade’s deployment was extremely critical. The brigade calls the situation in Avdiivka unstable and threatening. Two brigades of russian armed forces have been critically damaged during their stay in Avdiivka sector. At the same time, the enemy continues to actively rotate its troops and deploy new forces and equipment to the city.

Cabinet of Ministers said on website that the budget of Donetsk oblast has allocated UAH 1.2 billion for the construction of fortifications.

An outpatient clinic in Sloviansk is being repaired, which was damaged by russian shelling in the summer of 2022. According to the estimate, the work will cost UAH 36.6 million. The money for the repairs has been allocated from the state and local budgets.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the enemy is pressing south of Nevske, near Terny in Donetsk oblast. While defending, Ukrainian military is making every effort to lower the offensive potential of russians. They inflict significant losses on the invaders. The enemy is forced to bring in reserves along with the entire range of weapons and equipment available. Whenever possible, the enemy takes advantage of air superiority. Nevske and Bilohorivka were under mortar and artillery attack.

The so-called “election commission of lpr” made a decision according to which a person can register to vote at home even on the election day, on 17 March until 12 pm. By this time, the person must have time to submit the relevant application. It can also be brought in person, and then, by the end of the day, voted at home.

There are significant power outages in Sievierodonetsk. Many people in the new districts do not have it. The occupation authorities have been waiting for a decision on repairs since 13 February.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to Serhii Popko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the air alert in the capital lasted for more than 2 hours. Air defence forces destroyed all enemy missiles aimed at Kyiv. There were no casualties or damage.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv RMA, reported that in the oblast, the debris of downed russian missiles fell in two settlements. As a result, 7 houses, several outbuildings and a car were damaged. Windows were smashed, facades and roofs were damaged.

Diana Wagner (call sign Snake), a combat medic of the Carpathian Sich battalion, was buried in Kyiv. She was born in Germany and moved to Ukraine before the full-scale war began. She loved Ukrainian culture and traditions, studied the language, and was waiting to become a Ukrainian citizen. Snake spent more than two years at the front and was killed in late January in Luhansk oblast.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Kyiv deminers continue to remove enemy ammunition in Kharkiv oblast. They are currently clearing critical infrastructure in Izium region. They discovered a two-row anti-tank minefield with TM-62M mines and MVCH-62 fuses.

Vitalii Klychko, Mayor of Kyiv, presented awards to members of Kyiv City Union of Afghanistan Veterans who are currently fighting the russian aggressor. More than two thousand Afghan soldiers have taken up weapons again to defend Ukraine.

According to Kyiv RMA, the reconstruction of 2 houses in Hostomel, which are being restored at the expense of UNITED24, was inspected in Kyiv oblast. The repair of the house at Proskurivska Street is already at the final stage. The company is currently completing the renovation of the apartments and the repair of the shelter located in the building.

A presentation of a publication about information warfare was held in Kyiv – How the russian information warship go f… Propaganda narratives during a full-scale war. The publication was prepared by the Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security. The book covers the chronicle of the information war from February 24, 2022, to the end of November 2023, as well as the main trends and directions of the russian propaganda.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to Zhytomyr oblast State Emergency Service, on February 13, pyrotechnics destroyed the remnants of a modern combat shell found in a forest near the village of Morozivka in Malyn community. The unknown metal object, which looked like a munition, was found by local residents while they were collecting firewood.

A project to train doctors to provide psychosocial support to women who have suffered from violence is underway in Zhytomyr oblast. More than 100 participants have already completed such training which will continue for another year.

Sumy oblast

According to Sumy RMA, in 2023 85 civilians were killed in Sumy oblast as a result of the full-scale invasion. Another 14 residents were killed by sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Last year, the oblast suffered 8,000 shelling attacks. In 2024, the russian army has fired more than 1,200 times at communities.

At night, russians fired 3 times at the border areas. There were 7 explosions. Krasnopillia (5 artillery strikes) and Shalyhyne (2 mortar strikes) communities were shelled.

According to the police of Sumy oblast, on February 14, the russian military fired 14 times at Sumy oblast. There were 74 explosions. Mortars, MLRS, artillery, and FPV drone strikes. 8 communities in the oblast came under hostile fire: Mykolaivka, Khotin, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Seredyna-Buda and Svesa. The shelling damaged a detached house, 2 administrative buildings, a lyceum, a shop and two cars.

In Sumy, training sessions were organised for social workers on how to deal with war-related violence. The participants learned how to recognise victims of war-related violence and provide them with assistance. As part of the Help is at Hand national project, social workers from 10 communities in the oblast took part in the training. As of February 1, 270 cases of war-related sexual violence have been recorded in Ukraine.

Trostianets Regional Court of Sumy oblast convicted a russian serviceman in absentia to 11 years in prison. The case concerns a 24-year-old tank commander who, on March 23, 2022, gave a criminal order to fire on Trostianets City Hospital using a 125 mm T-80 tank gun. The tank crew fired at the hospital at least twice, damaging the building of the hospital’s inpatient building, where patients and staff were at the time.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, russian troops shelled two border communities in Chernihiv oblast. The enemy launched 12 mortar attacks on Semenivka community, and 1 attack from an artillery system on Snovsk community.

According to Chernihiv RMA, in Chernihiv oblast, 270 business owners have received grants totalling more than UAH 64 million since the launch of the Business programme. 5 veterans took the opportunity to start their own business, 95 received professional adaptation services, and 23 received compensation for the purchase of housing.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that the enemy launched missiles at Dnipro oblast. Civilian infrastructure facilities were attacked. The Air Defence Force destroyed 2 enemy missiles over Nikopol and Novomoskovsk region. Due to the morning attack at Dnipro region, 2 administrative buildings, 2 multi-storey buildings, a private house, a kindergarten, warehouse and industrial buildings, and equipment were damaged. The occupiers also twice shelled artillery at Nikopol region. Myrove and Marhanets communities were targeted. During the day the occupiers attacked Nikopol region 5 times. They fired more than two dozen artillery shells and launched 2 kamikaze drones. Nikopol itself and Marhanets community were attacked. 3 private houses were damaged in the regional center.

A 50-year-old woman is being treated in a Dnipro hospital in serious condition after a missile attack by russian troops on Selydove in Donetsk oblast.

Vinnytsia oblast

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, people donated blood for wounded soldiers in hospitals. The event was organized by students of Donetsk Medical University.

In Kropyvnytskyi, a center for rehabilitation of the military and civilians will be set up at one of the city’s hospitals. It will be a hospital with more than 100 beds, an operating room, surgical, trauma, neurological, therapeutic, physiotherapy departments, a laboratory and modern diagnostics.

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, reported that at night the enemy attacked Poltava oblast. A warehouse in Myrhorod region was hit. This caused a fire on an area of 100 m².

Cherkasy oblast

In Zolotonosha, 9 soldiers were awarded orders, medals and honorary insignia for their courage. 3 more were awarded posthumously. The awards ceremony was dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the Black Cossacks regiment.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, industrial facilities and other infrastructure of the city were damaged as a result of the morning shelling of Zaporizhzhia by the russian federation. The blast wave and debris smashed windows and damaged roofs in high-rise buildings and other buildings. Six people were wounded: four men and two women. One of the women is in serious condition. 

Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration informs that 110 attacks on 19 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast were carried out by the russian army during the day, February 14. In particular, 31 drones attacked Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Charivne, Chervone, Chervone, Poltava, Novoandriivka, Lobkove and Lukianivske, along with  MLRS and artillery used in other settlements.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that three attacks by the russian army west of Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhya sector were repelled by the Defense Forces. 

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration informs that on February 14, the russian army attacked Kutsurub community with artillery and shelled the coast of Ochakiv. No one was killed or injured in the shelling.

Odesa oblast

A source in the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine says that on the morning of February 14, in the Black Sea, Ukrainian drones shot down the russian large amphibious assault ship Caesar Kunikov, which was heavily damaged and sank. 

 The Southern Defense Forces inform that the Russian frigate Admiral Makarov, a carrier of 9 Kalibr, has been watching in the Black Sea since nightfall. There is information that missiles were launched from it on February 15 at the territory of Ukraine.

Almost 60 women are currently working seven days a week at Odesa volunteer headquarters of Invincible Mothers. During their work, they have woven over 700 camouflage nets. Bulgarians from Bessarabia became interested in Unbreakable Mothers’ work and offered to help. Once a month, they buy several rolls of spunbond and arrange for delivery. Volunteers from France visited the headquarters, saw the work of Invincible Mothers and decided that they wanted to organize a similar headquarters in France, where they would weave camouflage nets and send them to the Ukrainian military.

Kherson oblast

In the afternoon, the russian army shelled Kherson with artillery. A 70-year-old woman was killed. At the time of the russian attack, she was on the street.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA,  says that the russian army fired 192 shells from various types of weapons at the oblast. One person was killed and five injured, including a child. 

Over the past day, the Defense Forces destroyed a russian army fuel and lubricant storage facility on the left bank of Kherson oblast. Seven guns, including the Hyacinth-B artillery system, the same number of armoured vehicles and 68 russian soldiers were also eliminated.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA held a working meeting with heads of communities of the oblast. It was decided to direct 10% of remaining funds from each community budget to support the security and defense forces. In total, it is UAH 170 mln.

Zakarpattia oblast

RMA representatives held a meeting with heads of communities, deputies of Vynohradiv region, the law enforcement unit, military and border guards. In 2024, all funds from the Road Fund for the next year (UAH 94.7 mln) will be redirected to defense needs.

RMA representatives took part in a meeting with Romanian partners. The key topic is the construction of a bridge across Tisza River within the Bila Tserkva – Sziget Marmaciei future crossing point.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

During the morning alarm, an enemy target was shot down in the oblast. As a result of falling debris, roofs of farm buildings caught fire. Thanks to the prompt work of rescuers, the fire was extinguished. There were no casualties or significant damage.

Anica Dzamich, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Croatia to Ukraine, is visiting Prykarpattia. She attended the presentation of the second volume of the Croatian-Ukrainian Dictionary in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Lviv oblast

During the air alert, which lasted from 05:01 to 07:10, 14 enemy missiles entered the zone of responsibility of the West Air Force Base, which protects the sky over eight regions in the west of Ukraine. Of them, 8 were shot down.

A power substation was hit in Lviv. Because of this, a fire started in an area of ​​approximately 150 square meters. It was extinguished within two hours. 29 firefighters worked on it, involving 6 units of equipment. The substation is completely destroyed. The office premises, which were powered by it, now receive electricity from generators. There were no casualties.

Another missile hit the ground between residential high-rise buildings. The blast wave blew out windows in about 30 houses on five streets. Cars parked nearby were damaged. So far, three people from these houses were injured.

The RMA held a meeting with UNHCR representatives. Two communities from Lviv oblast are included in the list of 12 implementing a pilot project aimed at long-term solutions for IDPs.

Rivne oblast

In Rivne oblast, veterans themselves are involved in the implementation of the veteran policy. The oblast will continue to develop a people-oriented approach. This was discussed during the meeting of Oleksandr Koval, Head of Rivne RMA, and profile deputies with Vadym Svyridenko, authorized representative of the President of Ukraine for the rehabilitation of combatants.

From Rivne, two pickup trucks were sent to Ukrainian servicemen for combat missions on the front line. One car will serve the air defense fighters who protect the sky over the city of Rivne, the other will go to the front line.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA reported  that Ternopil community sent four DJI Mavic 3T quadcopters, two DJ Mavic 3 quadcopters, three DJI Mavic 3 fly more combo quadcopters and 50 FPV drones to one of the city’s military units.

Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, visited the Center of Excellence, which was recently opened on the basis of Ternopil Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital. Here, damage to the nervous system and musculoskeletal system is comprehensively treated. 50–60% of patients overcome strokes, 20–30% recover from spinal injuries, in particular, those caused by war.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that in the morning, the enemy again launched a massive attack on Ukraine. There is damage to civilian objects in Khmelnytskyi. There were no casualties.

Chernivtsi oblast

Bukovyna media workers and employees of communication services were trained in stress resistance. As part of the  All-Ukrainian mental health program How are You?, they received training in psychological first aid and basic stress resistance skills.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Blair, Minister of National Defense, announced that Canada will allocate about $44 mln for the support and maintenance of F-16 fighters for Ukraine. According to him, these funds will help provide and obtain the necessary equipment and materials for the F-16, like spare parts, weapons stations, avionics components and ammunition.

Germany will join the Polish-led armoured coalition. Pistorius, Defense Minister, expects that Germany will send approximately 3-4 times more artillery ammunition to Ukraine this year than in 2023. In 2024, Berlin will spend €3.5 bln  on the purchase of ammunition.

Norway will train Ukrainian marines to conduct operations with small boats. It will also sent such boats with equipment to Ukraine. These exercises are Norway’s contribution to the “sea coalition” that it leads among the countries of the Ramstein format together with Britain.

15 countries signed the Agreement of Intent to Create a New Coalition of Capabilities – Integrated Air and Missile Defense in Brussels. Such a step will allow Ukraine to be more effective on the battlefield, as well as provide more protection to civilians, because the goal of the Coalition is to facilitate and coordinate assistance in strengthening the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This coalition is chaired by Germany, France and the US. It was also joined by Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia, Spain, Great Britain, Belgium and Ukraine.

The member states of the IT coalition completed the signing of the Cooperation Agreement. Participants were Estonia and Luxembourg as the leading countries, as well as Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Ukraine. This is the first such Agreement within the framework of coalitions of capabilities. In particular, it establishes the desire of the participating states to provide assistance to Ukraine over the next 6 years with the aim of building an interoperable IT infrastructure of the Ministry of Defense and the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Contributions to the IT coalition were made by Estonia (€500K), Luxembourg (€10 mln) and the Netherlands (€10 mln). Lithuania and Latvia also provided material assistance in the form of licences and equipment.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with the German delegation led by Thomas Bagger, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, and Jochen Flasbarth, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, the representative of Germany in the Coordination Platform of Donors for the Reconstruction of Ukraine. They discussed preparation for the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, to be held in Berlin in June.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a meeting on the conclusion of bilateral agreements on security guarantees between Ukraine and partner states within the framework of the implementation of the Joint Declaration of the G7 countries signed in Vilnius.

Starting today, cars with russian licence plates will be confiscated in Latvia and sent to Ukraine. According to the amendments to the law, cars registered in russia can cross the country in transit. At the same time, it is worth considering that the vehicle will be able to cross the territory of Latvia in this way only once.
