It has been the 674th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

Breaking news

The commander-in-chief of the army of the Netherlands said that the country and society should prepare for war with russia. According to Martin Vainen, who is retiring on January 1, 2024, the Hague should follow the example of Sweden, Finland and the Baltic countries, because they border the russian federation or are close to it, so they are better prepared for the outbreak of war.

Jacek Horyszewski, the spokesman for the Polish Armed Forces, said after the incident with an unknown object flying from the territory of Ukraine during a massive russian missile attack Poland has put the air defense forces on high alert. He noted that they are  searching for the object and establishing the reasons for the airspace violation and to determine the object’s flight path.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans to completely occupy Ukraine. The enemy continues to violate the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using tactical aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armored vehicles, and has increased the number of air strikes.

Last night, the invaders launched a massive missile strike against Ukraine, attacking critical infrastructure, industrial, military and civilian facilities. The enemy used about 160 means of air attack against Ukraine: missiles of various types and attack UAVs. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 88x Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles and 27x Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

There were 31 combat engagements. The enemy launched 134 missiles and 60 air strikes, carried out 36 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. The russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings, hospitals and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes and no signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. They continue sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increase the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Over 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Krasni Lozy, Zaliznyi Mist, Bleshnya (Chernihiv oblast), Stepok, Zapsillia, Basivka, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Udy, Huriv Kozachok, Krasne Pershe, Ambarne (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka (Kharkiv oblast), where the enemy, with air support, made failed attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched an airstrike near Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted no offensives. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Makiivka, Nevske, Serebrianske forestry (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Serebryanka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired from artillery and mortar.at over 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the enemy attack near Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy made an attempt to regain lost ground. Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, New York (Donetsk oblast). 

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 enemy attacks near Stepove, Avdiivka, and 10 more attacks in the vicinity of Sieverne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the enemy conducted unsuccessful attempts to improve his tactical situation. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinity of Oleksandropil, and Novobakhmutivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired from artillery and mortar at around 10 settlements, including Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Mariinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinity of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy conducted 5 failed attacks on Ukrainian positions. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka were under the occupiers’ artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the enemy conducted no offensives. The adversary fired from artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Urozhaine, (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the enemy attack west of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Over 25 settlements, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Kamianske, Stepnohirsk (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy shelled with  artillery at the settlements of Ivanivka, Antonivka, Novotyahynka, Kherson (Kherson oblast), and Solonchaky (Mykolaiv oblast). 

The occupiers do not abandon their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the enemy made 9 unsuccessful assaults. The Ukrainian troops are holding the line and keep inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 10 buildups of troops, weapons, and military equipment, and 3 strikes on air defense systems of the occupiers. 

The Ukrainian missile troops hit 2 buildups of troops, weapons, and military equipment, 3 artillery systems, 5.ammunition depots, and 2 important targets of the russian invaders.


As of 7:30 p.m., 30 people have been killed and more than 160 injured as a result of the early morning mass attack by the russian federation on the territory of Ukraine.

On the territory of Ukraine, russia used 158 means of air attack, namely missiles of various types and UAVs.  The Ukrainian Air Forces destroyed 27 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs and 87 X-101, X-555, X-55 cruise missiles.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 28 December, russian invaders stormed Ukrainian positions 46 times in the eastern part of the frontline.

The defense forces destroyed 50 units of russian military equipment towards Lyman-Kupiansk. Volodymyr Fito, Head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 12 enemy attacks were repelled. The enemy launched 24 air strikes, used 35 kamikaze drones and fired 566 artillery rounds. 245 invaders were eliminated and 50 pieces of their equipment destroyed, specifically, three tanks and seven BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles.

Kharkiv oblast

According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, in the morning, from 5 am to 8 am, the invaders shelled Kharkiv three times, firing more than 20 missiles in total: S-300, X-22 and Iskander missiles.

The enemy hit civilian infrastructure. Warehouse and industrial buildings, a transport depot, and enterprises were damaged. The roof and windows of a medical facility and an ambulance were damaged.

Investigators found 22 places where russian missiles hit in Kholodnohirskyi, Kyivskyi and Slobidskyi districts of Kharkiv. Alao russians shelled civilian infrastructure, including the depot of a transport company, and partially damaged a hospital building where a missile hit the ground nearby.

The missile strikes killed three men, all employees of a city enterprise. 13 people were injured, mostly employees of the enterprise in the industrial zone, which was hit by most of the S-300 missiles. Work to clear the rubble has been completed.

Parts of one of the X-type missiles were found in a park in Kharkiv. It was examined by pyrotechnics. There are several such locations with large unexploded parts of X-type missiles.

The press service of the city council informed that 41 buildings in Kharkiv were damaged in russian morning attack, 37 of them are residential. Utility workers are repairing the damage in Kyivskyi, Kholodnohirskyi and Slobidskyi districts.

The press service of Kharkiv police reported that a 44-year-old man exploded on an explosive device in the forest in Vilkhuvatka, Savyntsi community and  hospitalised due to injuries.

The invaders attacked more than 15 settlements in the region with artillery and mortars. Udy of Bohodukhiv region, Vovchansk, Budarky of Chuhuiv region, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka of Kupiansk region and other settlements were under attack.

Investigative teams, experts and pyrotechnics worked at the scene. Investigators opened criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Yesterday, over 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including: Udy of Bohodukhiv region, Vovchansk, Mala Vovcha, Budarky of Chuhuiv region, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region.

The enemy launched air strikes near Petropavlivka and Hlushkivka of Kupiansk region. 

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 24 enemy attacks near Synkivka, Kupiansk region.

In Kharkiv oblast, combined teams of pyrotechnics cleared 6.1 hectares of mines and destroyed 335 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police reported that russian troops shelled residential sector and critical infrastructure 14 times.

Also russian army attacked 12 settlements: Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove cities, Hostre, Niu-York, Ocheretyne, settlements, Berdychi, Yelyzavetivka, Zoriane, Novoselivka Persha, Orlivka and Umanske villages.

The enemy used missiles, Uragan MRLs and artillery. 19 civilian objects were damaged, 13 of them were residential buildings.

Towards Volnovakha, russians shelled Bohoiavlenka of Vuhledar community, causing no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, Kurakhove was shelled twice and the industrial zone was hit. A 2-storey building was damaged in Selydove. A house was destroyed in Krasnohorivka of Marinka community, Zoriane and Elyzavetivka shelled. Novoselivka Persha, Novopokrovske and Soloviove of Ocheretyne community were under attack. A person was killed in Avdiivka.

Towards Horlivka, two houses and an infrastructure facility were damaged. In Chasiv Yar community, 4 private houses, an apartment building and an industrial building were damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, a house was damaged in Serebrianka of Siversk community. Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community were shelled.

2 civilians killed earlier in Avdiivka and Torske were identified.

According to Avdiivka City Military Administration, russian troops are advancing towards Avdiivka from 20-30 directions, the third wave of massive attacks since the beginning of the October escalation around the city is ongoing.

During each humanitarian delivery, Lyman White Angels crew take care of stray animals. In the frontline villages, the police set up feeders for dogs and cats, fill them with food every week, and, if possible, take them to shelters in safer regions.

Based on the information provided by Donetsk State Emergency Service, in 2023, sappers in Donetsk oblast defused more than 44,000 mines and ammunition.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the invaders attacked Nevske 20 times from the sky. At least 5 private houses were destroyed but the information has to be updated. A 70-year-old man was injured in the shelling.  Also russians launched air strikes on neighbouring Novoliubivka and Serebrianka forestry. In addition to the above-mentioned areas, Bilohorivka was under artillery attack.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv RMA, reported that As a result of the falling debris, 17 private houses and 12 cars were damaged in 3 districts of Kyiv oblast. Roofs and fences were damaged, windows were smashed and facades were cut. Law enforcement officers, explosives experts from Kyiv oblast and rescuers continue to work at the scene. The police are inspecting the scene and recording the consequences of the enemy attack. Operational teams found damage to a school and a building of a state institution.

In Kyiv, the air alert was declared three times and lasted almost 5 hours in total. The capital was attacked by several dozen missiles of various types, which came at the city in waves and from different directions. Air defence forces hit more than three dozen air targets over Kyiv. Civilian objects, warehouses, the Lukianivska metro station building, and the cars of local residents were damaged.

In Sviatoshynskyi district, an unoccupied multi-storey building caught fire and three cars caught fire. Both fires were extinguished. In Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire in an unfinished business centre, damage to a residential building, a fire in garages (extinguished), and a fire in warehouses in a non-residential building. In Darnytskyi district, a multi-storey residential building and one private house were damaged.

As of 18:00, a fire in two warehouses in Shevchenkivskyi district with a total area of 2000 sq m was extinguished.

Serhii Popko, head of the Kyiv City Administration of Emergency Situations the death toll from the missile strike on the capital has risen to 9, with 30 people injured (including 8 people rescued from the rubble). The search and rescue operation is still ongoing.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to the Main Department of the National Police in the Zhytomyr oblast, windows in 16 houses in Zhytomyr oblast were damaged as a result of an air defence strike on an enemy air target. No one was injured.

On the eve of the Christmas holidays, the final psychological training within the Women’s Unity – Strength for Victory project for women members of military families took place in Zhytomyr. This project has become an important support for women who are experiencing the absence of their loved ones due to military service. During the training, experts Yulia Yaremchuk and Halyna Perkolaba-Yakobchuk shared advice with the participants on how to stay calm and live without anxiety while waiting for their loved ones to return from the war. These meetings proved not only useful in terms of psychological support, but also became a place of community and mutual assistance for women who share similar experiences.

Sumy oblast

The enemy fired 30 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 296 explosions. On the morning of December 29, the enemy launched a missile attack on Konotop. The shelling injured three people, damaged an apartment building and a car service station. A car caught fire.

In the morning, russia attacked Konotop in Sumy oblast. Four people were injured, 4 residential buildings, a shop and a service station were damaged. A car caught fire. The State Emergency Service quickly extinguished the fire. Investigative teams, experts and explosives experts were working at the scene.

Air defence forces destroyed two enemy Shahed UAVs in the sky over Sumy oblast.

Artem Semenikhin, mayor of Konotop, starting in January, two centres will be open in Konotop to help victims of the russian attack.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the Northern Border Guard Service, on December 28, russians fired 6 times at the border of Chernihiv oblast. There were 29 explosions. Semenivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi and Snovsk communities were shelled. 

In Chernihiv, a man found a grenade in a garbage can. Upon arrival, the inspectors found an object on the bench that looked like a hand grenade with a fuse. Explosive experts seized the object.

The Semenivka community sent another batch of thermal imagers to the defenders of Ukraine.

The Chernihiv-based company presented the rescuers with two brand new Nissan pick-up trucks.

Residents of the village of Mena knitted socks and rugs for Ukrainian defenders. These items have already been sent to the frontline.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that over Dnipro region defenders from the Air Command East shot down 18 missiles. In Dnipro 6 people were killed as a result of the attack. A shopping center and a maternity hospital were damaged, a private house was destroyed, 8 administrative buildings, about two dozen high-rise buildings and cars were damaged.

Novomoskovsk was also affected. Two people were injured there. 42 private houses were damaged. Nikopol district was shelled 5 times with artillery and kamikaze drones were used. Nikopol, Myroniv and Marhanets communities were shelled. Three men were injured in Nikopol. Two farms, a utility and an industrial enterprise, 11 private houses and one two-storey building, a dormitory and 6 outbuildings, power lines and solar panels were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

Roman Kashpur, a 26-year-old veteran of the russo-Ukrainian war from Khmilnyk, ran 47 km on a prosthesis in 2023. He has traveled to different parts of the world and participated in three 42 km marathons – in London, Washington, New York and Brussels Half Marathon. During marathons, the veteran raises money for prosthetics for Ukrainian defenders.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Dolynska, Kirovohrad region police lieutenant Ihor Misiunia was buried.  He was killed during the evacuation of civilians from the Kherson railway station. Igor Misiunia was 29 years old. His wife and two children survived. 

Poltava oblast

Philip Pronin, Head of Poltava RMA reported that in Poltava region another batch of non-food items was delivered to the modular town residents.

People received personal care products, household chemicals and everyday items. The kits came from the International Organization for Migration.

Cherkasy oblast

Igor Taburets, Head of RMA announced that at night a mobile firing group shot down a Shahed in Zvenyhorod region of Cherkasy oblast. The occupiers attacked Smila city in the region.  The enemy missile hit private houses. 9 victims are known, including a child. According to preliminary information, 51 houses were damaged.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Today, from 07:30 to 08:25, russian military forces launched a massive rocket strike on Zaporizhzhia. The enemy targeted the territories of several enterprises in the city. One missile hit an open area, while another destroyed a private house. The shockwave and debris damaged apartment buildings in one of the districts of the regional center. One of the enemy missiles was intercepted by air defense systems in Zaporizhia oblast. As of 15:15, there are known to be 7 fatalities and 13 injured individuals.

Zaporizhzhia city utility services are addressing the consequences of the russian rocket attack: clearing debris, covering damaged windows in apartment buildings with OSB sheets, and cleaning up construction debris. Representatives from humanitarian and charitable organizations are also assisting people by providing food, hot beverages, and offering legal consultations.

Yesterday, aggressors launched 186 strikes on 25 populated areas in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Invaders attacked Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodarivka, Poltavka, Huliaipilske, Temyrivka, Levadne, and Piatyhatky with 48 drones, shelled Mala Tokmachka and Stepnohirsk with MLRS, and bombed Novodarivka with an aviation projectile. 135 artillery strikes hit the territories of Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Luhivske, Malynivka, Bilohiria, Stepove, Kamianske, Prymorsk, Bilenke, and other cities and villages on the front line. As a result of the russian attacks, 3 people were killed, and 8 were injured, including 4 police officers. There were 8 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure objects being destroyed.

Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 4 attacks south of Novodarivka, west of Verbovye, and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. This information was reported by the General Staff.

Mykolaiv oblast

Мassive morning rocket attacks on Ukraine were primarily carried out using strategic aviation. The enemy launched 9 missiles at the southern part of Ukraine, as reported by the “South” Operational Command. Air defense forces successfully intercepted a missile, likely of the type X-101/555/55, in Mykolaiv oblast.

Mykolaiv RMA reported that on December 28 and the night of December 29, air defense forces in Mykolaiv oblast destroyed a russian reconnaissance drone of the “Merlin-VR” type and three drones of the “Shahed-131/136” type. Additionally, on December 28 at 11:02, the russian army shelled the waters of Ochakiv community. Furthermore, during the night of December 29 at 00:30, the enemy shelled the city of Ochakiv. On December 28 at 12:52, 13:22, 15:26, 16:11, and during the night of December 29 at 00:31, russian military forces shelled the village of Solonchaky in Kutsurub community with artillery. There were no reported casualties or injuries.

Odesa oblast

On December 29, the russian army, during a massive attack, launched nine rockets towards the south, five of which, presumably X-101/555/55, were intercepted by air defense systems over Odesa. Three rockets hit residential buildings in Odesa: a private house was completely destroyed, and a three-story apartment building suffered critical damage. A rocket pierced through the building in one residential complex, exploding inside and causing several floors to collapse. Powerful fires have been extinguished. The explosive waves and debris from the intercepted rockets damaged dozens of buildings, including educational institutions, a church, shops, and other residential buildings. As a result of the attack, four people lost their lives, and 26 were injured, including two children (6 and 8 years old) and a pregnant woman. On December 30, a day of mourning was declared in Odesa oblast for those who lost their lives in the rocket attack by the russian federation. It was announced by head of Odesa RMA, Oleh Kiper.

Charity fairs were held in Vyhoda territorial community in Odesa region on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas holidays. As a result of eight events, over 73K hryvnias were raised, and the funds will be used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Kherson oblast

This morning, the russian army attacked Beryslav with a drone. As a result of the explosive device being dropped, a man riding a scooter in the city suffered an explosive injury and leg wounds. Also today, a 63-year-old man who was under shelling in the village of Chervonyi Maiak yesterday sought medical attention. He was diagnosed with explosive trauma, concussion, and head injuries.

The russian army attacked residential quarters in Korabelnyi district in Kherson from the temporarily occupied left bank. Three people were injured as a result of enemy shelling.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 121 shelling attacks, firing 632 projectiles from mortars, artillery, “Grad” MLRs, tanks, aviation, and UAVs. Due to russian aggression, 3 people were injured. The police have initiated 15 investigations into war crimes committed by russian military forces in Kherson oblast.

Throughout the day, the enemy launched 3 guided missiles from the S-400 and 5 missiles from the “Smerch” MLRS at Velyka Oleksandrivka community in Kherson oblast. No casualties were reported. Terrorizing the civilian population, the enemy used 11 FPV drones and dropped 36 shrapnel shells of various modifications from UAVs on the settlements of Stanislav, Iantarne, Shliakhove, Sablukivka, Mykolaivka, Novoberyslav, Zmiivka, and Respublikanets. There were no casualties among the population. Over the past day, occupiers carried out 15 artillery shelling attacks on settlements. Antonivka was shelled 5 times, and Kherson 3 times. Tiahynka, Stanislav, Novotiahynka, Zolota Balka, and Vesele in Kherson oblast were also shelled. During artillery shelling, 3 civilians were injured. A preschool building, 2 educational institutions, an apartment building, 3 shops, 2 administrative buildings, more than a dozen private houses, a garage, a car, and a tractor were damaged.

The enemy carried out 13 unsuccessful attempts to storm our positions on the left bank. Suffering losses on the front line, the enemy was forced to retreat to their positions. The defense forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, delivering fire on the enemy’s locations, firing positions, and rear areas.

Confirmed enemy losses over the past day amounted to 20 occupiers, 2 S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1 self-propelled artillery installation “MSTA-S”, 6 cannons, 1 mortar, 6 units of armored vehicles, 1 radio electronic warfare station, and 2 boats.

Gas supply has been restored in the village of Oleksandrivka in Stanislav community. Due to russian aggression and damage to critical infrastructure, this settlement had been without centralized gas supply for over a year. Gas supply restoration is ongoing in other settlements in the region.

Bilozerka village military administration purchased OSB panels. They will be used to cover windows damaged by shelling. More than a thousand materials have been procured. Local residents can obtain materials by contacting the military administration with a notification slip from the police.

Medical facilities in Kherson oblast continue to restore and equip wards and operating rooms. Thanks to the participation of donors, one of the medical institutions in the city has equipped rooms for round-the-clock patient stay, as well as an intensive care unit and operating room. Rooms for the psychological relief of children and facility staff are next in line.

Families in Beryslav region received over 250 tons of coal. Benefactors delivered solid fuel to residents of Beryslav, Velyka Oleksandrivka, Borozenske, Kalynivka, Novoraisk, Tiahynka, and Mylove communities. They were provided with 4 tons of coal per household. Additionally, 64 large families in Beryslav region received warm clothing, food, and hygiene kits.

Chernivtsi police officers handed over sports equipment and humanitarian aid to students of the Myroliubivskyi Lyceum in Kherson region, which is constantly suffering from russian shelling. The educational institution has a bomb shelter equipped. Children are forced to spend their leisure time there since it is unsafe to be outside due to daily rrussian shelling. Various board games, a punching bag, weights, new dumbbells, balls, and boxes of sweets were given to the children.

They discussed with the military, clarified the areas of support and cooperation, and asked about the situation in the unit’s area of ​​responsibility and the morale of fighters.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that they sent starlinks, generators, batteries and uninterruptible power supplies to the 78th battalion of the 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade.

In Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, 400 holiday gifts from the ADRA Ukraine mission were handed over to children who had to experience the horrors of war as part of the Children to Children campaign. Also, with the support of the Seventh-day Adventist Church religious community, 20 children of fallen military personnel from Prykarpattia will have the opportunity to spend the winter holidays in a camp in Chernivtsi. Comfortable accommodation, quality food, interesting and varied leisure activities will be organized there for them.

Lviv oblast

From 3 a.m. to 09:30 a.m. on December 29, the Ukrainians attacked Lviv oblast with 15 missiles and 14 unmanned aerial vehicles.

At night, Lviv oblast was attacked by 14 Shahed-type drones, 8 of them were shot down by soldiers of the Zahid air defense unit. In particular, mobile fire teams worked on the downing. In one of the enterprises in Lviv, where there was a hit, the partial destruction of the administrative building and production workshops was recorded. There were no casualties or damage.

In the morning, 15 rockets attacked the region. 10 of them were destroyed by the Air Defense Forces. A 44-year-old man was killed as a result of a rocket hitting a high-rise building in Lviv. 17 people, including one child, were injured. 5 people were hospitalized. Most of the victims were injured by fragments of windows that were knocked out by the blast wave. 7 residential buildings were severely damaged, 11 more were damaged to a lesser extent. 2 lyceums and a kindergarten were also affected.

There are also rocket hits to one of the infrastructure facilities in Drohobych region. No victims beforehand. In the Strii and Lviv districts, fragments of rockets fell in the field.

Volunteers of the Red Cross and the Rokada CF are working at the place where the rocket attack took place in Lviv. There are approximately 50 people in line for the CF. Blankets, towels, thermoses, and tarpaulins are provided on the spot to cover broken windows. A large number of organizations provide tea and food to those who wish.

Rivne oblast

During the air alert, the Air Defense Forces worked in various districts of Rivne oblast. The civilian population was not injured, there was no damage to the infrastructure facilities.

Rivne oblast received almost UAH 90 mln from the state budget for teaching the subject Defense of Ukraine. Funds, in particular, are intended for the purchase of teaching aids and computer equipment for classrooms. These include drone control simulations, training ranges and models, first aid kits and CPR simulators, a defibrillator simulator, tourniquets, etc.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil oblast received 6 self-starting generators for military personnel thanks to the Strong Life public organization and German partners, who are helping Ternopil oblast for the first time.

Ternopil City Council sent 2 DJI ACC BATTER STATION BS30, 6 Alientech remote control kits, 20 DJI Mavic 3 Thermal quadcopters and 15 DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise quadcopters, worth UAH 6,101 mln to the military.

Ternopil RMA sent a bus to Ternopil Vocational College with enhanced military and physical training as part of humanitarian aid for vocational education institutions.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

During the night air alert in Khmelnytsky oblast, the air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine neutralized 3 UAVs of the Shahed type. According to the available information, the civilian residents were not injured, there was no damage to the infrastructure facilities.

Chernivtsi oblast

Bukovyna combat medics received the For Saving Lives award. Oleksandra Shkvarchuk, young medics who is currently in Avdiivka with her siblings, was awarded the award of Chernivtsi RMA. In April last year, while still a student, the girl voluntarily joined the Hospitaliers battalion. The For saving life award was presented to Andrii Krasovskyi, anesthesiologist at Chernivtsi City Children’s Hospital. Now he works as a military medic in a front-line hospital in Mariinsky region. Andrii Kyrychyk, medic from Bukovyna, received the award. Currently, he temporarily performs the duties of the head of the medical station of the 68th separate hunting brigade in Lymano-Kupian region.

The RMA held a final conference within the framework of the Security and Protection – a Common Factor of Cross-border Cooperation project. Its purpose is to increase the level of security and protection of the population in the border zone.
