It has been the 289th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

The enemy continues to focus its efforts on conducting an offensive towards Bakhmut. Towards Lyman and Avdiivka, the invaders are trying to improve their tactical position. In other areas, the enemy focuses its efforts on restraining the actions of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, shelling the positions of our troops and civilian objects. They also enhance defensive lines and positions. 

Russian occupiers inflicted 4 missile and 9 air strikes, as well as 25 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems. 

Peaceful settlements of Komyshuvakha, Hryhorivske and Yuliivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast were subject to enemy missile strikes.

There is still a threat of the enemy’s missile strikes launched on the objects of the energy system and critical infrastructure throughout Ukraine.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation has not changed significantly, there are no signs of enemy offensive groups being formed. In the cities of Mozyr, Gomel and Mogilev, an increased number of russian mobilized servicemen was noted. In the military offices of Gomel oblast, measures are underway to verify credentials of military servicemen.

Towards Siversk, some enemy units are located in the border areas of Bryansk and Kursk oblasts. Mortar shelling was carried out near Khodyne, Sumy oblast.

Towards Sloboda, the enemy fired mortars and barreled artillery at the areas of the settlements of Strelecha, Zelene, Ternova, Starytsia, Chuhunivka and Kamianka, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy fired tanks and artillery of various types in the areas of the settlements of Dvorichna, Kupiansk, Krokhmalne, Pershotravneve, Kharkiv oblast; Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk oblast. 

Towards Lyman, the enemy inflicted fire on the areas of the settlements of Hrekivka, Nevske and Chervonopopivka in Luhansk oblast and Torske and Hryhorivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, more than twenty settlements were shelled by tanks, mortars, barreled and rocket-propelled artillery. Among them are Verkhnekamianske, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Opytne, Andriivka, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Diliivka and Zalizne of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy shelled Avdiivka, Berdychiv, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Novopavlivka, the settlements of Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka and Novopil of Donetsk oblast were shelled with motors and artillery. 

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the occupiers inflicted fire on the settlements of Chervone, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Stepove, Chervonodniprovka of Zaporizhia oblast and Vyshchetarasivka in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

Towards Kherson, the enemy carried out artillery shelling of settlements in Kherson oblast near the contact line. Again, the city of Kherson and its outskirts were shelled, and civilians injured. 

The enemy continues to lose manpower. During the past day, up to 50 wounded mercenaries from a private military campaign were transported to the central city hospital in Kadiivka, Luhansk oblast.

At the same time, mobilization measures are underway in some regions of the russian federation. Thus, in particular, military servicemen in Samara oblast continue to be served with summonses. 

Units of rocket forces and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine affected 2 buildups of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Children’s Rights and Children’s Rehabilitation, Daria Herasymchuk, reports that more than 13 K Ukrainian children were illegally taken out from Ukraine by the russian occupiers. This data is not conclusive as every day the number of children deported to russia is increasing.

Russian aggression against Ukraine has killed at least 443 children. Listed on the “Children of War” platform. Another 330 children are considered missing, 855 were injured.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announces that the government instructed the Minister of Energy to develop power supply priorities. The 4 priorities include critical infrastructure, objects of the military-industrial complex, businesses producing critical products and the residential sector. This approach will allow the country to survive this winter.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops shelled Kharkiv oblast with artillery, tanks and mortars. The invaders hit at least 10 settlements.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, informed that further cooperation on restoration of Kharkiv oblast was discussed at a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Ukraine, Arad Banko.

Head of the Zolochiv City Military Administration, Viktor Kovalenko, said that in the afternoon, russians shelled two villages with artillery. As a result of the attack, gas networks, energy infrastructure and buildings were damaged. There were no casualties. The premises of the Starytsia region and the outpatient clinic were also damaged.

The invaders launched missile and artillery attacks on Chuhuiv, Izium, Kharkiv and Kupiansk regions.

In Kupiansk, as a result of russian shelling, the warehouses of a food enterprise were on fire. There were no casualties. After 8:30 pm, in the Bezliudivka community in the Kharkiv region, houses, outbuildings and cars were damaged as a result of missile attacks. Around 9 pm, in the Pisochyn community, missile strikes damaged private households, roofs of houses and outbuildings.

According to the Emergency Medical Care, 3 people were hospitalised: 2 women aged 41 and 64, their condition is average. A 40-year-old man died, he was in critical condition and had numerous shrapnel wounds. One victim was treated on the spot. 

Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service defused 122 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Colonel Mykola Urshalovych, Deputy Director of the Department of Deployment Planning of the National Guard Main Directorate informs that national guards captured a Wagner soldier near Avdiivka and destroyed several russian tanks, infantry combat vehicles, self-propelled artillery systems and manpower towards Bakhmut over the past week.

At night, russians continued shelling the central and northern parts of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Volnovakha, the Vuhledar community (Vuhledar and Novoukrainka) was under attack. There were no casualties, but there was destruction.

Towards Donetsk, there were isolated and massive attacks on Avdiivka. Hirnyk of the Kurakhove community was also targeted – 2 private buildings were damaged, no casualties.

Towards Horlivka, a person was killed and 3 more injured in the Toretsk community. russians also caused serious damage in Kostiantynivka: 6 residential two-storey buildings, a boiler house and a non-working hospital building were damaged. One person was injured during the shelling of Kostiantynivka on the night of December 9.

According to Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, russians killed 5 civilians: 3 in Bakhmut, 1 in Netailove and 1 in Toretsk. Another 2 people were injured.

Kramatorskteploenerho reported that it temporarily stops supplying heat due to constant blackouts that lead to the shutdown of the plant. This causes hydraulic shocks in heating networks.

Luhansk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, up to 50 injured mercenaries from the private military campaign were delivered to the central city hospital of Kadiivka.

The Luhansk Regional Military Administration informed that yesterday Defence Forces units repelled russian attacks near Bilohorivka once again.

The enemy is on the defensive towards Kupiansk. Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka were shelled with tanks and various types of artillery.

Towards Lyman, the enemy targeted Chervonopopivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske and Ploshchanka.

Based on the information provided by Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, our troops are a few kilometers away from Kreminna. According to him, winter weather will help the rapid movement of equipment at the front.

Police are defusing explosive ordnance in the liberated territories of Luhansk oblast. During the measures to restore the security environment in Nevske village, the police have already found 12 explosive ordnance, namely M-12 detonators. During the inspection, the specialists of the explosive service of the Luhansk Regional Main Directorate of the National Police found out that the detonators can be destroyed.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Barcelona mayor Ada Colau arrived in Kyiv. The mayor of the capital Vitalii Klytschko invited the head of the European city to visit the Ukrainian capital. After talking at the city hall, the mayor of Kyiv showed the foreign guest the house destroyed by a russian kamikaze drone on Zhylianska Street. Also, Ada Colau and the delegation will visit the fire department, where two special fire trucks, which Barcelona handed over to Kyiv, are working.

Kyiv received humanitarian aid from Latvia – 49 generators and heat guns. As reported by the KCSA, the equipment will be distributed among the heating centres. Also, the city will use generators to ensure the operation of pump stations in the absence of centralized water supply.

In the capital, child volunteers who collected funds for the Armed Forces were awarded. They received thanks from the Kyiv City Military Administration. Honors from the city were awarded to: Valerii Yezhova,a world champion who played checkers on the street; Sofiia Kotlyarova, who organized charity concerts; and the Dzhereltse ensemble raised funds by singing at fairs. The children sent all proceeds to charity funds.

Due to the war, the number of homeless cats and dogs has increased. About 90% of pets are kept by Kyiv volunteer organizations. The Kyiv City Council reported that the Kyiv City Hospital of Veterinary Medicine cares for homeless animals, which includes 3 vet clinics, “quick” animal care, a shelter in Borodianka, and an accounting service. Construction of the Animal Protection Center has also begun, which will include a veterinary hospital, a quarantine department, a shelter and an adaptation center.

Head of the Kyiv RMA, Oleksii Kuleba, said that restoration of educational institutions damaged by the russian occupiers and construction of shelters are in progress. As of the beginning of December, 89 institutions of secondary education and 45 institutions of preschool education have been restored. Work is ongoing in 33 institutions.

All the shelters in educational institutions are equipped with generators and emergency lighting. Thus, the educational process continues and the children are in safe conditions.

The Solomianski Kotyky charitable foundation plans to equip its own heating points in ten schools of Kyiv, they will be called Greenhouses. The Greenhouse pilot project was opened in one of the capital’s schools. They set up a location with a generator and Starlink, organized a coffee break area, a place for board games, work and volunteering.

Banksy became an honorary citizen of Irpin. This decision was made at a meeting of the city council. The British street artist left his graffiti on one of the houses destroyed by the rashists and drew the attention of the world community to the extent of the destruction in Irpin. He immortalized the history of the city’s struggle and the idea of its revival.

Students of one of the capital’s lyceums handed over warm clothes, medicines, portable chargers, lanterns, drawings and goodies to the soldiers of the National Guard in Bakhmut. This event was called Warm, because the children and their parents want to support the military in the cold season. 

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyroblenerho reported that due to significantly exceeding the limit, emergency power outages continue in Zhytomyr oblast. Hourly shutdown schedules are temporarily out of action.

Head of Zhytomyr RMA, Vitalii Bunechko, reported that a Memorandum on cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund – UNICEF was signed. The memorandum envisages implementation of a joint project with international partners: the creation of a Center to protect and support children who have suffered or witnessed violence according to the Barnahus international model.

Utility companies in Zhytomyr are installing generators to supply heat and water during a blackout. As Zhytomyr Mayor Serhii Sukhomlyn reported, the regional center expects the delivery of all generators purchased abroad by the end of December.

19,550 internally displaced children are living in the communities of Zhytomyr oblast, including 5,643 children of preschool age. 330 children arrived in the oblast without their parents. The largest number of migrant children are in settlements of the Zhytomyr region and in the city of Zhytomyr.

The In Touch Ukraine Foundation reported that coordinators of the SPILNO children’s centers were trained in Zhytomyr. They were trained in various techniques for interacting with children and their parents to provide a proper humanitarian response, and were also briefed on safety rules.

Sumy oblast

Head of the Sumy RMA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi, reported that the enemy fired 55 mortar strikes on the Khotyn and Shalyhine communities. The russians also opened fire with machine guns and grenade launchers on one of the villages of the Hlukhiv community. In the Bilopillia community, the enemy dropped explosives on a civilian house from a drone. A fire broke out and the house burned to the ground.

The situation with energy supply is difficult in Sumy oblast. As Head of the Sumy RMA, Dmytro Zhivytskyi, reported, 50% of the population is without electricity, and production has been shifted to work in the night shift as much as possible. According to him, even at the beginning of the full-scale war, the russian invaders destroyed many energy facilities and large substations in the oblast.

The State Emergency Service reported that rescuers of Sumy oblast provided assistance to patients of the Hlukhiv city hospital. They transported water to ensure uninterrupted operation of the hemodialysis department, where life-saving procedures are performed for patients whose kidneys are not functioning. The water supply to the hospital was stopped due to the lack of power at the water intake.

The Sumy RMA reported that all fighters of the 117th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade are fully equipped with winter uniforms. The next batch of winter clothes, purchased with the funds of the regional budget and local communities, was handed over to the defenders. These are 500 sets of high-quality winter uniforms made by local manufacturers.

Sumy designer Svitlana Volyk created a collection of Ukrainian clothes called Embroidered Clothes of War. According to the craftswoman, the full-scale invasion affected her creativity: in the unexpected ornaments of her embroidery there appeared bairaktars, ‘cotton’, and ears of wheat. Svetlana is proud that her pieces of clothes are also worn at the front and is already making special embroidered shirts for Victory Day.

Chernihiv oblast

More than 400 unemployed people in Chernihiv oblast are involved in socially useful works as part of the government initiative Recovery Army. As reported in the regional employment center, the unemployed are erecting fortifications and protective structures, bringing civil defense facilities into proper condition, clearing roadside lanes near roadblocks and power grid substations of bushes, and gathering firewood for the heating season.

Three prefabricated structures of artificial constructions from the French company Matière were received by the Chernihiv Oblast Highway Service – they will be installed at the places of the crossings destroyed by the russians. The Chernihiv RMA reported that metal bridges have already been delivered to the work sites. The official transfer of one of them by the French side took place with the participation of the first adviser of the Embassy of the French Republic in Ukraine, the deputy head of the mission, Benjamin Rohrig.

In Chernihiv, courses on restoring damaged housing are held for people whose property was damaged during hostilities. Courses are held free of charge on the basis of professional lyceums. Participants are taught to plaster, make stonework and install electrical wiring.

Social Wardrobe, which was created as part of the project of the Caritas Chernihiv Charitable Foundation, has started in Nizhyn. Its services can be useful for people in need, including internally displaced persons, large families and other socially vulnerable categories of the population.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

 According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk,  russian terror of the civilian population continues. At night, again there were several enemy attacks. The russian occupiers fired on Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, and Myrщve communities of the Nikopol region  from MRLS and heavy artillery. As a result of the attack, several buildings, garages, and power lines were mutilated in the Chervonohryhorivka community.

Vinnytsia oblast

The Vinnytsia City Council reported that the Latvian city of Ventspils handed over two powerful generators and ten tonnes of hygiene products to Vinnytsia. 

​​The Vinnytsia City Council reported that generators, systems for the hospital and warm things were  delivered to Balakliia. The city also received 12 tonnes of diesel fuel and 9 tonnes of petrol from Vinnytsia to ensure the operation of the city’s infrastructure facilities. 

Kirovohrad oblast

Oleksandr Pisnyi, Head of Dnipro-Kirovohrad informed that the enterprise received 60 water tanks from the international fund UNICEF. They will be used in case of water supply interruptions. One tank holds a thousand liters of water. Tanks will be installed in all micro-districts of Kropyvnytskyi.  

Poltava oblast

Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, announced that the communities of Poltava oblast receive food to be distributed among internally displaced persons in food packages consisting of pasta, sugar, oil, condensed milk, cereals, coffee, cookies. The retired, people with disabilities and low-income families are to primarily receive such sets. 180 tons of food have already been delivered to 18 communities.

Cherkasy oblast

The Vӓderstad company from Ukraine received generators and rechargeable LED lights from Sweden and immediately, together with the Swedish Business Association in Ukraine, started distributing them among the civilians and the military. They handed over a generator to Invincibility Centre in Zhashkiv, which will be useful to the city’s residents during power outages. Rechargeable LED lights will help the Zhashkiv City Council in dealing with everyday challenges. Battery-powered lanterns were also handed over for the children’s and maternity ward of the Zhashkiv city hospital.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

A road between two villages in the Zaporizhzhia region was destroyed as result of enemy shelling with S-300 missiles.

The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in Orikhiv, Malynivka, Chervone, Shcherbaky, Kamianske, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Dorozhnianka, Olhivske, Stepove, Lukianivske. 33 houses (apartments) and infrastructure objects were damaged and destroyed as a result of shelling by russian military personnel. 

The enemy continues to suffer losses. On December 7, the enemy lost about 240 wounded people as a result of fire damage on the occupiers’ buildups near Berdiansk, Tokmak, Melitopol, Enerhodar, Dniprorudne, Polohy and Vasylivka. 3 ammunition warehouses and about 20 units of military equipment were destroyed. The hospital on the basis of the Tokmak Anti-tuberculosis Dispensary is completely crowded with wounded servicemen of the russian occupation forces.

The occupiers intensified repression against ZNPP workers. According to Enerhoatom, on December 8, the russian military beat Head of the Department of Social Programs of the ZNPP Oleksii Trubenkov and his Deputy Yurii Androsov. After that, they were taken to an unknown destination. Also, the occupiers detained Shift Chief of the ZNPP, Kostaintyn Beiner, who is a licensed specialist and is directly responsible for nuclear and radiation safety.

Mykolaiv oblast

On December 8, the enemy shelled the Kutsurub community. Also, the enemy carried out artillery strikes on the settlement and the water area of Ochakiv community.

As a result of the attacks on the regional center, Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities, the police documented damage to one multi-apartment and  some private residential buildings, 30 vehicles of a utility company, warehouses, a car wash and a state enterprise.

Odesa oblast

The French region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (France) will support Odesa in wartime and participate in post-war reconstruction. The relevant declaration was signed in Marseille. The support includes providing humanitarian and emergency assistance during russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and help to vulnerable population groups.

Emergency power outages are ongoing in Odesa oblast. Schedules for hourly shutdowns are currently not in effect. On December 8, the region switched to emergency shutdowns. Electricity was restored to the houses of Odesa and the Odesa region, but due to network overload, the equipment is failing.

On December 9, the NEVA bulker with 25K tons of wheat for Somalia left the Odesa port through the ‘grain corridor’. This is direct aid from the Ukrainian state. Delivery of humanitarian cargo is implemented with the support of the Governments of Japan, France and Finland. NEVA is the third vessel within the ‘Grain from Ukraine’ initiative.

Kherson oblast

In the morning, the russian occupiers shelled a medical facility in Kherson. Shells damaged the children’s department and the morgue. 1 person was injured.

On December 8, the russian occupiers shelled Kherson oblast 68 times. The enemy shelled Kherson city again, targeting residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure. 8 people were injured of varying degrees of severity.

The police opened 22 criminal proceedings on the facts of war crimes committed by the russian army in Kherson oblast. Reports are coming from the temporarily occupied settlements of the Kakhovka region about the russian military robbing the houses of local residents.

The russian military stole three fuel trucks with semi-trailers from the enterprise during the occupation of Kherson The owner estimated the amount of damages at 9 million hryvnias.

According to the Kherson RMA, utility crews continue working to restore the reclaimed territories of Kherson oblast. In particular, the work of 8 mobile base stations in Kherson was resumed. In total, mobile operators have restored the operation of 110 base stations and 3 mobile stations in the liberated Kherson oblast.

Electricity supply has been restored in the villages of Shyroka Balka and Sofiivka, Kherson oblast. Also, electricians continue connecting household consumers in Kherson, Chornobaiivka, and Bilozerka to power grids.

The operation of 34 (out of 46) boiler houses have been resumed in Kherson. 700 out of 1,156 residential buildings have been connected to centralized heat supply.

Representatives of the Red Cross deliver humanitarian aid to the reclaimed territories of Kherson oblast. A cash assistance in the amount of UAH 25K per household is being implemented in the oblast for people whose homes were damaged by shelling. Hospitals in Kherson received medicines to treat outpatients for several months. Vodokanal received a car for transporting water, two diesel pumps to restore water supply and drainage, water storage tanks, and two powerful 60 kW generators as charitable assistance. 10 transformers were provided for Khersonoblenerho. Also, 120 tonnes of construction materials were delivered to meet the needs of Novooleksandrivka, Visokopillia, and Novovorontsovka.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

In November, there were 364 cases of boiler plants’ shutdown of , 330 cases of work suspension at central heating points and multiple shutdowns of individual heating points in residential buildings in Lutsk due to power outages.

Mayor of Lutsk Ihor Polishchuk met with Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Seattle, US Valerii Holoborodko and member of the organizing committee of the National Prayer Breakfast of America Mykhailo Zhovner. They discussed establishing partnership relations with US cities.

Volyn rescuers continue demining Chernihiv oblast. They conducted 17-day training in ten communities of the oblast, where they taught first aid and mine protection.

Vitalii Vasylchuk, native of Kovel, the combatant who has been defending the territorial integrity of Ukraine since 2014, will receive a one-room apartment.

Vitalii Prokopchuk, native of Volyn, was posthumously awarded with the III degree Order For Courage. The state award was presented to the relatives of the fallen Hero.

Zakarpattia oblast

Within the framework of the current Protocol on Cooperation between Ukraine and Hungary, the Hungarian partners sent 350 laptops to provide digitalization of the educational process at educational institutions of Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv oblasts.

Deputy heads of the Zakarpattia RMA transferred part of their salary to charity. With UAH 165K 4 generators for four family-type houses, food certificates for vulnerable residents of three regional social institutions and goods for the Uzhhorod animal shelter BARBOS were purchased.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Since the war began, taxpayers of the oblast have paid UAH 561 million in military levies. This year’s contribution to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine exceeded last year’s one by UAH 134 million.

A meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Council on mental health protection and providing psychological assistance to victims of the russian federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine headed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska was held. Head of the RMA Svitlana Onyshchuk took part in its work online.

Lviv oblast

Bank Lviv and the US International Development Finance Corporation with support of USAID Ukraine signed a partnership agreement for 10 years. The document provides credit guarantees to the Bank for lending, namely, new loans for micro-, small- and medium-sized businesses for almost $19 million.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium in Ukraine, Peter van de Velde, met with Mayor of Lviv Andrii Sadovyi. They discussed supporting the city during the war.

As part of the city-wide military support program, another batch of aid to the defenders was sent from Lviv. Winter footwear was handed over to the 125th separate territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while sets of thermal clothing – to the 24th separate mechanized brigade.

Lvivvodokanal received humanitarian aid, namely, generators, tools and materials necessary for repair work, from the companies Wilseko and Hammann

The Consultation Center of the Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was opened in the public reception room of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in Lviv oblast.

On December 8-9, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine organized a training session to practice actions of central and local executive authorities during the possible use of mass destruction weapons. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Lviv oblast and experts from the Departments of Civil Protection and Health Protection of Lviv oblast joined the training in a video conference.

The father of the fallen soldier Volodymyr Soltys from Sudova Vyshnia bought an ambulance with the payments he received. The car was handed over to the military unit where the fallen soldier served.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that for the needs of 485 MW (indicators of Rivne oblast in December 2021), today the oblast received 263 MW.

Head of the Rivne RMA Vitalii Koval met with representatives of the UNHCR Lviv office, in particular with Raian Marshall. They discussed the oblast’s need for generators, etc.

7 vans and 4 trucks left for Kherson oblast from Rokytnivsk and Nemovytsk communities. The humanitarian cargo contains 200 cubic meters of firewood, half a ton of fish, half a thousand loaves of bread, generators and small pots.

Educational institutions of Rivne oblast received 306 School in a Box sets from UNICEF. The metal box weighs 48 kilograms and contains stationery sets (notebooks, chalk, paints, markers, colored paper, etc.).

Ternopil oblast

The RMA representatives joined the working meeting of the National Health Service of Ukraine online. During the meeting, they discussed implementation of the program of state guarantees of medical care for the population in 2023.

On the basis of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ternopil oblast, training on measures of response of the central executive authorities to emergency situations under the martial law was held.

From Ternopil, a car  was handed over to the Territorial Defense forces. Employees of the Ternopil City Council contributed to the purchase of this car.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

A regional representative office of the Consultation Center of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Human Rights was opened in Khmelnytskyi. Everyone contacts the Center if they need clarification on possible ways of returning a child or families with children to the territory under the control of the Government of Ukraine, obtaining a birth certificate of a child under martial law, etc.

The meeting within the Partnership Platform of International Aid was held at the RMA. The meeting was devoted to summarizing interim results and discussing further joint projects.

A Mercedes-Benz Vito minibus was brought from abroad, serviced and handed over to Ukrainian soldiers for them to quickly carry out combat tasks.

The CF Heart of the Ukrainian Nation handed over 8 generators and Starlink systems to Khmelnytskyi. They will provide Invincibility Centers and social institutions with electricity and communication.

A truck of humanitarian aid (tools, household items, food, hygiene, household chemicals, etc.) was sent from Khmelnytskyi to Izium. In addition, a repair team of utility workers arrived from Khmelnytskyi to help repair broken roofs.

Chernivtsi oblast

As of December 1, 2 105 internally displaced people, including 153 children, applied to the Chernivtsi Regional Psychiatric Hospital. Specialized inpatient care was provided to 816 IDPs.

The NGO Chernivtsi Regional Organization of People with Disabilities LEADER received a vehicle. A minibus with a lift was given by friends from the district of Shvabiia (Germany).

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ukraine will receive $275 million from the US to strengthen air defense.

Germany will transfer to Ukraine a new package of weapons, in particular 18 RCH-155 self-propelled guns. Also, the new aid package will include 80 pickup trucks, 2 hangar tents, 7 trucks and 90 units of anti-drone equipment.

Bulgaria agreed on the first package of military aid to Ukraine, including light weapons and ammunition. The full list of weapons is classified.

The Government of Slovakia has approved a new package of military aid to Ukraine. The Armed Forces will receive ammunition and warm things, while the civilian population – 300 generators.

Japan is preparing the second package of energy aid to Ukraine, including supplies of transformers, switches, disconnectors, cables, wires, insulators and other equipment.

Slovakia transferred 119 gasoline generators of various capacities to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Estonia sent 11 buses with generators and power equipment to Ukraine. Aid will be sent to Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Bucha and Poltava.

The European Parliament presented a generator to Ukraine as part of the Generators of Hope initiative. The power of the donated generator is 325 kVA, which is enough to power a medium-sized building, such as a school.

The International Olympic Committee extended the sanctions against russia and belarus.

The EU Council decided not to recognize russian foreign passports issued in the occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

 In the new package of the EU’s sanctions, the export of laptops, hard drives, cameras and lenses to the russian federation will be prohibited.

The United Kingdom introduced new sanctions against russian and Iranian officials responsible for the russian invasion of Ukraine and human rights violations.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the delegation of the Slovak Republic headed by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Rastyslav Kacher. They discussed supporting Ukraine.

Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyi met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Matsuda Kuninori. One of the key issues to discuss was humanitarian demining of liberated territories, which is extremely critical for Ukraine.

Commissioner of the Identity and Status Bureau of the Department of Police and Border Guard of Estonia, Maryna Pyldma, reported that Ukrainian refugees in Estonia can now renew their residence permit online.

The representative of the US State Department, European Affairs Manager, Michael Tirre, noted that russian troops use the same tactics in Ukraine as ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq. They mine civilian houses, children’s toys and even the bodies of the killed.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, Rastyslav Kacher, announced that his state will consider the possibility of resuming the production of ammunition for the needs of Ukraine.

Representative of the press service of the federal government, Kristine Hoffmann, stated that Berlin considers military facilities on the territory of russia to be legitimate targets for the Armed Forces.

US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, noted that the US and G7 countries support Zelenskyy’s peace formula, as it could be a potential plan to end the war.

Pope Francis mentioned the war in Ukraine in his speech and cried. “Most Holy Virgin, today I would like to offer you the thanks of the Ukrainians,” Pope Francis began, but could not continue because of the tears that came to his eyes.

Netflix announced a special edition of the famous talk show My Next Guest does not Need to be Introduced with David Letterman with Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The episode will be released on December 12.
