It has been the 646th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On December 1, there were 67 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 2 missile strikes, 17 air strikes, 46 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Moreover, since the beginning of the day, russian occupiers have attacked Ukraine with 2 Kh-59 guided missiles and 12 attack UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 1 Kh-59 guided missile and 8 attack UAVs. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings as well as other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there are no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group are observed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Around 15 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Krasnyi Khutir (Chernihiv oblast), Prohres, Stepok (Sumy oblast), Udy, Ternova, Vovchansk, and Varvarivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupansk, the enemy conducted assault operations in the vicinities of Synkivka (Kharkiv oblast), and Stelmakhivka (Luhansk oblast). Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 attacks in the area. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the invaders made assaults in the area of Serebryanka forestry (Luhansk oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks. The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the invaders conducted offensives near Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks in the area. More than 15 settlements, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, and Niu York (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Avdiivka, the invaders made assaults near the south of Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast), to no success. Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 attacks in the area. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Karlivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the invaders made failed assaults with air support in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), The settlements of Hostre, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Pobieda, and Kostiantynivka (Donetsk oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Towards Shakhtarske, the enemy conducted no offensives. Around 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Vodiane, Novoukrainka, Urozhaine, Makarivka, and Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy made 10 attempts to regain lost ground in the vicinity of Robotyne and west of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia oblast), to no success. More than 20 settlements, including Temyrivka, Malynivka, Charivne, Robotyne, Stepove, and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy fired artillery at the city of Kherson and the settlements of Ivanivka, Novotyahynka, Ponyativka, and Antonivka (Kherson oblast).

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their ground on the left bank of the Dnipro River (Kherson oblast) and inflict fire on the enemy.

Ukrainian rocket troops hit 3 buildups of troops, weapons and military equipment, and 5 ammunition depots of the russian invaders.


Ihor Klymenko, Minister of Internal Affairs, informs that in the first 11 months of 2023, 2K civilians in Ukraine were killed by russian troops. Most attacks took place in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv oblasts.

Ivan Havryliuk, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Lieutenant General, says that Ukraine will start producing air defense systems with a range of more than 100 km. The approved budget for 2024 also provides for about UAH 175 billion to be allocated for the purchase of missiles and ammunition.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Volodymyr Fitio, Head of the public relations service of the Land Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reports that towards Lyman and Kupiansk, russians are trying to recapture Kupiansk, and after suffering significant losses, they have reduced the number of assaults. According to him, russians lost 340 soldiers and 60 pieces of equipment in this sector over the last day. Fighting is taking place in the areas of Sinkivka, Petropavlivka, Stelmakhivka and Serebrianka forestry.

Between  September 1 and  November 30, 97 residents of Kharkiv oblast died as a result of hostilities. 155 people were injured. Information about those wounded or killed in action was provided by official sources in regional or local administrations, law enforcement agencies and the SES. The highest number of deaths and injuries were reported from Kupiansk, Izium and Chuhuiv regions. Over the three months, nine people were killed by explosive devices and 26 others were injured.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Joint Forces Operation, says that active fighting continues towards Kupiansk and Borivske. The enemy suffers significant losses, but does not abandon its intention to conduct offensive actions. Despite everything, Ukrainian defenders are giving the Russians an adequate response. The enemy is not advancing, the “grey zone” is not expanding. 

The enemy is intensifying shelling of civilians in the territories adjacent to the combat zone. Therefore, the possibility of declaring a forced evacuation from some frontline settlements of Kupiansk region, including part of Kupiansk, is being considered. There are 243 children living in Kupiansk urban community. The decision to order the evacuation is to be made by Kharkiv Regional Defence Council.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, says that as of December 1 , 3,500 people live in the border town of Vovchansk. The city will spend the winter without gas supply for the second year in a row. russian shelling has intensified in Vovchansk sector. On November 30, at least 10 private houses and an administrative building were damaged in Vovchansk as a result of shelling.

In November, it became known that 55 Ukrainian soldiers from the oblast had been killed. The deaths were officially reported by communities or universities. 

In the morning, at about 6:50 am, the enemy shelled the village of Kivsharivka, Kupiansk region. Residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. There were no casualties. 

At least 16 localities in Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions were under enemy fire over the last day.

Yesterday morning in the village of Kivsharivka, a missile hit the building of an educational institution. About 30 windows were smashed in the building.

As a result of mortar shelling in Liptsy village of Kharkiv region, a private household was damaged. A 52 year old resident was injured. He received help on the spot.

In Novoosynove village of Kupiansk region, a private house was damaged.

A private household was damaged as a result of artillery shelling in Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region.

In addition, Udy of Bohodukhiv region, Nesterne of Chuhuiv region, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka of Kupiansk region and other localities were under enemy fire.

Heavy fighting continues towards Kupiansk. Over the last day, our defenders repelled 7 enemy attacks in the areas of Synkivka and Petropavlivka.

Mine clearance continues. Over the past day, the State Emergency Service’s pyrotechnics inspected more than 6.3 hectares of territory and defused 242 explosive devices.

Ihor Tuluzov, General and Artistic Director, says that Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theatre “Vostok Opera” is setting up a shelter to hold offline performances. It is planned that the opera house will have a stage and an auditorium that can accommodate up to 400 people.

Donetsk oblast

At the meeting with the joint delegation of the UN Office in Ukraine, the urgent humanitarian needs of Donetsk Oblast were discussed. UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine, Ms Denise Brown, and Director of the UN World Food Programme in Ukraine, Mr Matthew Hollingworth, discussed expansion of the range of recipients of food aid and its options.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that over the past 24 hours, russian occupiers stormed all sections of the frontline in eastern Ukraine, except for Shakhtarsk region. 

Volodymyr Fito, Spokesman for the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informs that russians have become more active along the entire front line, they want to capture Kupiansk and are advancing on Lyman.

Oleksandr Borodin, Spokesman for the 3rd assault brigade, says that russians continue to storm Klishchiyivka and Andriivka because they have inconvenient defensive positions that are difficult to hold. The occupiers are are using a lot of UAVs and artillery.

Dmytro Lazutkin, Spokesman for the 47th Brigade, says that occupiers are sending career soldiers to storm Avdiivka Coke Plant.

Stanislav Baldin, Spokesman for Donetsk Oblast State Emergency Service, informs that in Novohrodivka, rescuers continue to dismantle the rubble of a three-storey building. 410 tonnes of building structures were dismantled. As of 15:30, two people have been reported dead, the number of victims has not changed. Three people may be under the rubble, including a child born in 2015.

russian occupants shelled the towns of Toretsk and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk oblast with artillery, leaving one wounded and one killed. According to Anastasia Miedviedeva, Spokesperson for Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, at 9:50 a.m. a man sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of shelling in Toretsk. In addition, at 11:00, the occupiers attacked the town of Chasiv Yar. A 60-year-old resident of the town was killed by shelling.

On 30 November, the russian occupiers fired 19 times at civilians in Donetsk oblast. Avdiivka was hit by air strikes 6 times, and a multi-storey building was destroyed in Chasiv Yar.

Towards Volnovakha, an outbuilding was damaged in Novoukrainka of Vuhledar community.

Towards  Donetsk, 2 private houses were damaged in Trudove in Kurakhivska community, and Veselyi Hai and Hanivka were shelled. In Maryinka community, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka and Kostiantynivka are under fire. Search operation in Novohrodivka is ongoing – bodies of 2 more people killed in the previous day’s attack have been found.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed and 6 injured in Toretsk – 6 houses, an administrative building and an infrastructure facility were damaged in the community. In Chasiv Yar community, 2 multi-storey buildings and 3 private houses were damaged. In Soledar community, Razdolivka, Vasiukivka and Minkivka were shelled.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 houses were damaged in Serebrianka of Siversk community, and 5 attacks on Lyman community were recorded.

Ihor Moroz, Acting Head of Donetsk Military Administration, says that over the past day, russians killed a resident in Toretsk. Another 6 people were injured in the region over the day. In addition, 2 people were killed earlier in Novohrodivka.

Luhansk oblast

Artem Lysogor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reports that yesterday, people in the liberated Nevske, Makiivka, Hrekivka and Novoliubivka received aid provided by the International Organisation for Migration. The aid included mattresses, blankets, bedding, chairs, sleeping bags, solar-powered lanterns and candles.

Yesterday, russians attempted to storm towards Stelmakhivka and in Serebrianka forest. Ukrainian defenders repelled these attempts. The enemy fired at Nevske and Bilohorivka with mortars and artillery.

Luhansk Military Administration reports that residents of Lysychansk under occupation have already complained that they are offered to work in the housing and utilities sector for free. In particular, to participate in the restoration of the heating system. The life support systems continue to function in certain areas of the city where collaborators and the russian military have settled. They are satisfied with the current state of affairs.

Food prices in Rubizhne are three times higher than in the settlements of the so-called “lpr” located farther from the front line due to limited access to the city. Whenever possible, people go to neighbouring towns to buy food. It is also expensive there, but not as much.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

A new outpatient rehabilitation department has been launched at the Tarashchansky Central Regional Hospital in Kyiv Oblast after major repairs and equipment. The project was implemented as part of the memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the KSE Foundation. The Ministry of Health reported that similar rehabilitation departments will soon appear in Bohuslav and Yahotyn.

The Special Commission of Kyiv RMA, which monitors the transparency and quality of reconstruction, inspected two educational institutions in Bucha region being built at the expense of the Fund for Eliminating Armed Aggression Consequences. These are the overhaul of the Veselka kindergarten in Hostomel and the construction of a primary school with a pre-school unit in Vorzel.

In the capital, journalists from the war crimes investigation department of the Kyiv Independent presented an investigative documentary entitled Olenivka: Curators of Evil. The film chronicles the events related to the defence of Mariupol and its defenders, starting on February 24, 2024, and ending with the release of some of the defenders of Mariupol from captivity. To create the film, the journalists recorded dozens of interviews with people who returned from captivity and witnessed violations of international law and abuse of Ukrainian prisoners of war.

A demonstration in support of the captured defenders of Mariupol was held in Kyiv. Mothers, wives and children gathered to remember their loved ones, the city’s defenders, who have been in russian captivity for more than a year and a half.

Vitalii Klychko, Mayor of Kyiv, reports that the city plans to pay mobilised Kyiv residents an additional UAH 30K. At its next meeting, the Kyiv City Council will consider the issue of financial incentives for Kyiv residents who will be mobilised to the Armed Forces of Ukraine starting in December.

Olha Morozenko, Advisor on International Relations and Strategic Issues at Kyiv State Professional Choreographic College, reported that 70% of its students returned from abroad. Last year, only 32 children studied at the college in Kyiv, while about 160 students continued their studies online.This year the total number of students has increased to 199.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to Zhytomyr RMA, since February 2022, rehabilitation facilities in the oblast have provided assistance to 22K servicemen and women. Since 2023, rehabilitation assistance has been introduced in the priority packages of the Medical Guarantee Programme, and a corresponding rehabilitation programme has been developed for affected servicemen in medical, psychological, physical and social areas. 

A mobile rehabilitation module will be built in the north of Zhytomyr Oblast. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Zhytomyr RMA and the MINDY charity foundation.

According to the Northern Border Guard Service, border guards found ammunition within the mandatory resettlement zone. Operational officers of the 9th Sich Riflemen border guard detachment, together with National Police officers, found a box with almost nine hundred rounds of armour-piercing incendiary bullets during an inspection of an abandoned building. An investigative team was called to the scene and the ammunition was seized.

In Zhytomyr Oblast, the border guards’ fleet has been replenished with trucks. The servicemen received three trucks – two Renault Master and one Opel Movano. The trucks were purchased by the local community specifically for the needs of the military.

Sumy oblast

At night, the russians fired  at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast four times. There were 17 attacks with mortars and cannon artillery. Yunakivka, Seredyna-Buda and Znob-Novhorodske communities were shelled. 

According to Sumy RMA, russians shelled Sumy Oblast 24 times, with 155 explosions. Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda and Seredyna-Buda communities were shelled. 

Seredyna-Buda community was hit with mortars. A 39-year-old man was wounded and hospitalised as a result of the shelling. Bilopillia community was shelled with mortars, AGS and SPG.  The russian army attacked Nova Sloboda with mortars. The invaders attacked Velyka Pysarivka community with mortars, artillery and an FPV drone. Krasnopillia community was fired upon with cannon artillery, MLRS and mortars, and three FPV drones were also attacked. Yunakivka community was hit by a UAV dropping a VOG, as well as mortars and artillery.

Chernihiv oblast

It is reported that russian troops launched mortar and artillery attacks on the border of Chernihiv Oblast. Novhorod-Siverskyi community was under hostile fire, with enemy shelling towards the settlements of Hremiach and Krasnyi Khutir.

Sosnytsia community won a grant for a branch shredder thanks to the Dobre programme from our American partners. Now, the branches that utility workers collect on the roadsides will be used to heat the kindergarten in Sosnytsia. The equipment cost about UAH 250 thousand.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that during the night the enemy attacked Nikopol district with artillery twice. They hit Myrove and Chervonohryhorivka communities. More than half a dozen shells were fired. The enemy also struck a missile at Kryvyi Rih. The consequences are still being investigated.

The occupiers attacked Nikopol region with artillery 4 times. They hit Nikopol itself and Marhanets community villages. Almost a dozen shells were fired.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast pyrotechnics received two powerful mechanized demining machines. These are modern remote complexes designed to neutralize anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, as well as other ammunition.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council reports that in Vinnytsia Territorial centers’ wards participated in a charity fair to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Over 12K UAH was collected within three hours. The funds will be used to purchase items for wounded soldiers who are being treated in one of the city’s medical facilities.

Vinnytsia City Council announced that they plan to open VinnDog Help to Life rehabilitation center in the city. The concept of the rehabilitation center involves arranging the territory of the Municipal animal shelter, where therapeutic classes with dogs will take place. Qualified canine therapists, psychologists and dog trainers who will train the animals will work with the defenders who have returned from the frontline and need therapy.

More than 5 tons of aid were sent to the frontline by the You are not alone school volunteer center, which operates at Lyceum No. 29. The cargo includes gas heaters, camouflage nets, preserves and other packages. Aid has already gone to the defenders positions towards Zaporizhzhia.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych announced that at night,  air defense was on alert in Kropyvnytskyi district.

The South Operational Command reported that Air Defense Forces destroyed the missile in Kropyvnytskyi district. It is known that the blast wave damaged several fences of private homes, windows at the production facility. There is minor damage to the roofs.

Cherkasy oblast

The staff of the Cherkasy Regional Philharmonic sent a starlink and a charger to it for the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade.

The Regional State Emergency Service press service reported that Zolotonosha rescuers conducted training at one of the enterprises. During the training, the rescuers worked out the operational engagement and location of forces and means provided for the elimination of this type of fire, the deployment and extinguishing of the fire.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

During the past day, the enemy conducted 159 attacks on 23 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The russian military carried out 29 UAV attacks on Shyrokyne, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Novodarivka, Temyrivka, Luhivka, Kamianske, and Stepove. They also launched 7 MLRS attacks on Robotyne, Teyirivka, Novodarivka, and Novodanylivka, and targeted Kamianske and Novodanylivka with aviation bombs. Artillery shelling, numbering 121 strikes, hit the areas of Huliaipole, Levadne, Poltavka, Charyvne, Chervone, Shcherbaky, Zatyshshia, Plavni, Lobkove, Piatykhatky, and other frontline cities and villages. There were 9 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure objects, but no casualties were reported.

The enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain the lost position near Robotyne towards Zaporizhzhia 11 times. Ukrainian forces also repelled 4 attacks west of Verbove. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operations towards Melitopol, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment and wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.

On November 30, explosive ordnance disposal experts seized remnants of a russian Kalibr missile in Zaporizhzhia. The explosive object was safely destroyed by trained pyrotechnicians following safety protocols.

It is reported that the occupiers intensified filtration measures on the temporarily occupied territories. They have created a special chatbot to identify citizens collaborating with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Locals are encouraged to provide information about “saboteurs,” “spies,” and “weapon owners,” i.e. Ukrainians with patriotic inclinations.

Curfew hours have been adjusted on the controlled territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast.  Since December 1, restrictions are in place from 23:00 to 5:00 in Zaporizhzhia oblast, and from 21:00 to 5:00 on the controlled territory of Vasylivka and Polohy regions.

Portraits of three former bus drivers who died defending the country were placed in two municipal buses in Zaporizhzhia. The initiative was carried out by employees of the municipal enterprise Zaporizhelektrotrans. In total, 25 drivers from the enterprise volunteered to defend the country

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, reports that during the night the air defense forces destroyed eight enemy UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type in Mykolaiv oblast. A storage building, a hangar, and agricultural machinery on agricultural enterprises were damaged in Bashtanka region due to an attack by UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. There were no casualties.

Representatives of the Committee on Foreign Policy, the Committee on Law Enforcement, and the Foreign Policy Council of the Parliament of Denmark have arrived in Mykolaiv. Ukrainian and Danish parliamentarians visited the destroyed facilities in the oblast. Also, issues of the current security and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, particularly in Mykolaiv oblast, were discussed. The future liberation of the occupied territories, strengthening military-technical, economic, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, the possibilities of investment and reconstruction of objects damaged by russia, and the investigation of war crimes were raised.

Odesa oblast

A delegation of prominent journalists from Asian countries visited the Odesa Sea Port as part of the “Connecting Continents” project. Dmytro Barinov, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority,  and Denys Karpov, Head of the Odesa Port,  acquainted the guests with the operation of the Ukrainian corridor and showed the consequences of port infrastructure damage and destruction due to attacks by the russian federation.

Odesa has joined the global initiative by installing Red Benches in various areas of the city as a symbol of resistance to domestic violence. Information plaques on each location provide guidance on how to act in cases of domestic violence. According to the organizers, representatives of the international humanitarian non-governmental organization INTERSOS, the Red Bench project provides moral support to those affected by domestic violence and increases awareness for everyone passing by.

Kherson oblast

Around 15:00, the russian army shelled a residential building in Ivanivka. A 71-year-old local resident was injured in her own home and hospitalized with explosive injuries. 

Yesterday, the russian army executed 91 shelling attacks, firing 528 shells from mortars, artillery, “Grad” systems, tanks, aviation, and UAVs, including 7 Shahed drones. The enemy launched 27 shells at the city of Kherson. Due to the russian aggression, 3 people were killed, and 9 others injured.

Yesterday morning, the enemy shelled the Korabel neighborhood with artillery. As a result of the shell explosion, a 71-year-old pensioner suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. Around noon, occupiers shelled Sadove. One of the shells hit the yard of a private house, resulting in the death of a 59-year-old local resident. A few minutes later, the enemy attacked the settlement with two guided aerial bombs. Two men, aged 53 and 67, received fatal injuries as a result of the explosions.

In the afternoon, occupiers attacked Beryslav with drones. A 53-year-old local resident suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds due to the grenade dropped from the UAV. Another explosive device caused injuries to two police officers. One of the police officers, in serious condition, was evacuated to Kherson. Additionally, a police vehicle was damaged.

The village of Tiahynka was also under enemy shelling. Initially, occupiers shelled the settlement with artillery, resulting in a 47-year-old man receiving injuries of moderate severity. Later, russian forces shelled with multiple rocket launcher systems. Three local residents suffered injuries as a result of the explosions. In the afternoon, the enemy dropped an aerial bomb on the settlement, damaging the houses of civilians.

In the evening, occupiers shelled Veletenske with artillery. A 44-year-old local resident received injuries due to shell explosions. In total, over the past day, the police of Kherson oblast opened 19 criminal cases regarding war crimes committed by russian army soldiers.

The employees of the Kherson Art Museum identified two more paintings stolen by russian military in their latest propaganda video. The works are by Vladlen Vahanov (1930-1999): “Sedniv” (1976) and by Pavlo Horobets (1905-1974): “Winter Sun” (1963). Vladlen Vahanov’s graphic works depict architectural landmarks in Ukraine, including the Resurrection Church in Sedniv—an outstanding example of Cossack Baroque architecture. This is the second artwork by the Kherson artist found in the Central Museum of Taurida.

Residents of Komyshany received a hundred sets of construction materials. These kits contain necessary building materials for carrying out urgent repair work. They will be used to repair the housing of locals damaged by enemy shelling. This aid became possible thanks to UNHCR Ukraine – the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.

Volyn oblast

30 4,5 kW gasoline generators were sent to the border guards and national guardsmen serving in Volyn thanks to the Volyn Humanitarian Initiative.

In Lutsk, after a large-scale reconstruction, a dormitory for IDPs was opened due to grant funds from the European Union. The delegation of the EU Representation in Ukraine came to the opening.

Lutsk City Council reported that they sent 2 batteries for Motorola radios, a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise quadcopter and an Ecoflow charging station to the soldiers of the A0284 military unit.

Zakarpattia oblast

The Owl’s Nest humanitarian center provided aid to IDPs, including 30 packages with necessary items for children under 1 year of age; 300 packages with food and hygiene kits, clothes, shoes, bed linen and dishes (1,5K units) thanks to the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service, PDUM Partnerschaft Deutschland-Ukraine/Moldova e. V., Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V. and other benefactors..

The forum “With a Child, for a Child”  was held in Uzhhorod. The event brought together about 150 participants from different oblasts of the country and all communities of Zakarpattia. During the event, they exchanged experiences and discussed the best practices of communities regarding the protection of children’s rights and childhood protection.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

During the Bell of Remembrance, the fallen Heroes from Prykarpattia, who were killed in the war were remembered in prayer, and state awards were presented to their families.

The RMA reported that currently, there are 26 primary medical facilities in Prykarpattia, which provide assistance to people with mental problems.

Lviv oblast

A memorial plaque to the fallen Hero sergeant Andrii Rodi was installed on the facade of Mativska School in Chervonohrad region. The tank platoon commander and a resident of the village of Bodyachiv, was killed on August 2, 2023 in a heavy battle in Kharkiv oblast.

The mother of Victor Sybal, fallen Hero from Sokal, handed over UAH 100K to volunteers to purchase a car for the needs of the military. Her son was killed in December 2022 during a combat encounter with the enemy near Opytne, Donetsk oblast.

The RMA reported that another 13 orphans and children deprived of parental care from the Zaporizhzhia oblast were evacuated to Lviv oblast due to military operations.

The RMA reported that the International Solidarity Fund of the Republic of Poland, in partnership with the Polish Development Bank and financed by the European Union, sent the Samaritan PAD 350P defibrillator, battery packs, a set of electrodes and a pediatric module to Sudovovysnia City Hospital.

In Synkovytsia gymnasium, the charity auction collected UAH 75K to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another UAH 59K for the defenders were collected at a charity fair by students of Starosil Lyceum.

The RMA reported that Brodiv City Council sent sleeping bags, 4.5 kW generators and wheels to the soldiers of the mechanized company of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo.

During his visit to Zhovkva, the Mayor of the Belgian city of Malmedy  handed over a 72 kW generator worth over EUR 16K to one of the boiler houses in the village.

87 households where IDPs found shelter in Sambir region received vouchers for stores of one of the supermarket chains thanks to the Childfund Germany in Ukraine team in partnership with Terre des hommes Deutschland, with the financial support of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A thematic seminar was held for children’s service workers of Lviv oblast on the peculiarities of protecting rights and interests of children during the war. The event took place within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Lviv RMA and the Partnership for Every Child international charitable organization.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Nicholas Dunais, regional director of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. They discussed the strategy of privatization of the public sector and the prospects that await investors who are ready to invest in Ukraine.

In Rivne oblast, the number of rehabilitation places in medical institutions increased almost 4 times. In the next year, it is planned to sign agreements with 4 more supracluster and 4 cluster medical institutions. 385 beds have been deployed in 10 medical facilities. For comparison, in 2022 there were only 100 of them. Such assistance was provided only in Rivne Regional Hospital for War Veterans.

Ternopil oblast

As part of the Side by Side project, Ternopil oblast continues to restore the village of Arkhanhelsk, located in Visokopil community of Kherson oblast. In the autumn, the 2nd phase started, during which it was possible to restore 10 residential buildings in which people already live. In particular, roof coverings, windows, doors were replaced, and in some cases, part of the walls were rebuilt. In the future, it is planned to improve the streets (road surface, infrastructure) and build a sports ground.

In Ternopil, an Invincibility Center is being installed on Teatralnyi Maidan. At the moment, work on arrangement and preparation for work is taking place.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the delegation of the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in Ukraine. They discussed the initial results of cooperation within the framework of the Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine Swiss-Ukrainian project UCORD, the situation with humanitarian issues in the oblast and priority areas for possible cooperation with the Swiss side.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi City Council reported that they sent 27 quadcopters, includes Autel Evo Max 4T, DJI Mavic 3 Fly More Combo, DJI Mavic 3T, worth UAH 5,4mln, which was allocated from the community budget, to the military. To date, there are three more announced tenders for drones: it is planned to purchase 78 quadcopters, 68 of which will be of the FPV type. 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Norwegian government announced that the country will donate €21 mln to Ukraine’s food security. €4,3 mln will go to the Grain from Ukraine program administered by the World Food Program. €12,7 mln will be given to the World Food Program in response to their emergency appeal for Ukraine. And €4,3 mln will go to the World Bank’s Ukraine Aid, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund (URTF).

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that they recieved 3 modular Role 2 field hospitals and 6 medevac vehicles from the Hospitainer company, with the support of the Dutch government. Role 2 mobile complexes are improved and contain 36 beds; active ventilation, water supply adapted for winter conditions; unit for medical personnel; they can be used as a stabilization point.

The Swiss government announced that the country “froze” approximately $8,81 billion in financial assets owned by russians under sanctions aimed at punishing moscow for its invasion of Ukraine.

The Tetra Tech American company, which cooperates with the State Department and is a world leader in demining in extremely difficult conditions, started work in 5 oblasts of Ukraine.

Olha Budnyk, adviser to the President of Ukraine authorized by the President of Ukraine’s Fund for the Support of Education, Science and Sports, took part in a round table at which results of the launch of double degree educational programs with universities in Great Britain as part of the Twinning initiative were summarized. As of today, 112 students are studying under the double degree program with the universities of Great Britain within the framework of the Twinning initiative, and six partnerships between Ukrainian and British universities are being implemented.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden visited Ukrainian servicemen who are studying in Great Britain as part of Operation Interflex under the leadership of Swedish instructors.

The European Commission confirmed the likelihood of sanctions against Poland due to the situation on the border with Ukraine. Adina Velyan, Profile European Commissioner for Transport, accused the Polish authorities of insufficient initiative in managing the situation on the Ukrainian-Polish border and “observing the law there.” “There is no goodwill in finding a solution. This is my assessment today, and it is an almost complete lack of participation by the Polish authorities,” said Adina Velyan, relevant European Commissioner for Transport.
