War in Ukraine today: latest news, 23 June, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 851st day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 7pm:   

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts towards Kupiansk and Pokrovsk. This day the number of combat engagements along the entire frontline increased to 96.

Towards Kupiansk, the situation is tense, with nine combat engagements taking place near five different settlements. Fighting is still ongoing near Synkivka and Stelmakhivka.

Three combat engagements are ongoing towards Lyman, specifically in Serebrianka forest and near Makiivka. Four more enemy attacks have been repelled today.

Confirmed total enemy losses towards Kupiansk and Lyman in terms of personnel are 167 killed and injured. Several more invaders were taken prisoner. A tank, a cannon, an armoured combat vehicle, four vehicles and 79 enemy UAVs were destroyed.  Two artillery systems, three armoured personnel carriers and two vehicles were damaged.

Towards Siversk, russian terrorists dropped two aerial bombs near Serebrianka and Spirne in the afternoon.

Towards Kramatorsk, the total number of enemy attempts to improve the tactical situation increased to five. The attacks were repelled. The situation is under control.

Towards Pokrovsk, nine combat engagements continue near Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Vozdvyzhenka and Yevhenivka. Another 29 attacks have already ended. The enemy suffers losses in manpower: 137 irrecoverable casualties and 154 sanitary casualties. Also, about half a dozen russian invaders surrendered. In addition, our soldiers destroyed three tanks and damaged the same number of tanks. General information about the military equipment destroyed is being clarified.

Towards Kurakhove, the total number of combat engagements increased to eight. All enemy attacks were stopped. Also russian terrorists launched airstrikes, hitting Kurakhove thermal power plant, Kurakhove itself and Krasnohorivka by KABs and near Kostiantynivka with unguided aerial missiles.

Towards the Dnipro River area, five enemy attempts to force our troops out of their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River were successfully repelled.

In other areas, the situation did not change significantly.


Dmytro Lazutkin, Spokesman of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, reported that more than 14,000 Ukrainians have updated their data in 124 countries through Rezerv+.

At the same time, about 1.5m people liable for military service in Ukraine have updated their data at the ASC, SSC and through Rezerv+.

Serhii Derkach, Deputy Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, informed that a national programme to train women to drive trucks will be launched in Ukraine. It is known that as of February 2024, the shortage of drivers of municipal transport alone reached 30%.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation is tense towards Kupiansk, with nine combat engagements going on near five settlements. Fighting continues near Synkivka and Stelmakhivka.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, reported that during the day, Kharkiv suffered more than 3 hits by guided aerial bombs.

An educational institution was damaged in Shevchenkivskyi district. There was a woman inside, she sustained minor injuries and received medical assistance.

The windows in the nearby apartment buildings were broken and the facades of the buildings damaged. House-to-house inspections are ongoing.

In Kholodnohirskyi district, the private sector was hit and 2 houses destroyed. There was also a hit in the industrial area of Kyivskyi district.

As of now, a total of 12 people aged 15 to 63 were injured. One person is in critical condition, the rest are in moderate condition. A 73-year-old man died. Experts continue to eliminate the consequences of the hits and return electricity to consumers.

Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of Derhachi City Military Administration, reported that the russian military carried out air strikes on Slatyne. Several private houses and an administrative building were destroyed. Information about the injured is being clarified.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv CMA, informed that the russian military attacked Ivashky village by an FPV drone around 5am.  Power lines and a shop were damaged, no one was injured.

The regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that a 41-year-old man was injured as a result of strikes around 3:15pm on 22 June in Losivka.

The regional department of the State Emergency Service said that around 6:30am, the rescue and search operation in a five-storey building in Osnovianskyi district after a russian airstrike was completed: two people were killed in the building, 53 others injured. In total, 56 people were injured and 3 killed in the attack on Kharkiv on 22 June.

Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv RMA, added that hospitals in the oblast are treating 41 injured, including three children. Four patients are in critical condition and have been operated on. The condition of the children aged 12 and 13 is average, with positive dynamics. Another 17-year-old girl is being treated on an outpatient basis.

Ecopark owner Oleksandr Feldman confirmed that russia attacked the ecopark in Kharkiv oblast on 22 June. The airstrikes destroyed a kennel for animals and another building that also contained dog cages. The strikes killed animals. According to him, deer and does were killed as a result of the strikes. Two KABs hit causing a fire in the main building of the animal shelter and the dog shelter, which was almost completely destroyed.

Yesterday at 3:15pm, a 5-storey residential building, a private house, five non-residential buildings, 16 trade pavilions, 25 vehicles and 1 trolleybus, 2 pharmacies and a car shop were damaged as a result of a hit by a KAB (UMPP D-30 SM) in Osnovianskyi district. 52 people, including 3 children and 1 police officer, were injured. 2 people were killed.

The shelling of Kholodnohirskyi district damaged the building of an enterprise. 4 people were injured and 1 person killed.

At 2:44am, a private household was shelled in Hlushkivka village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region. As a result of the shelling, the outbuilding burned and a woman was injured.

At 2:05am, 2 private houses were damaged as a result of the shelling of Kamiana Yaruha village, Chuhuiv region.

At 12:08pm, Milove village of Balakliia community, Izium region, was hit. There was an inspection after the explosion, finding out that a residential building was destroyed. 5 people were injured and 1 person killed.

At 3:30pm, Kharkiv-Vovchansk highway of Lyman village, Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region, was shelled. Two men were injured as a result of the shelling of an FPV drone.

At 2pm, a private house was damaged as a result of shelling by a KAB in Borova settlement, Izium region.

Towards Kharkiv, the invaders attacked near Vovchansk with the support of aviation during the day. The defence forces successfully repelled two enemy assaults and another combat engagement is currently ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy tried 15 times to push our units back from their positions near Stelmakhivka, Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, Andriivka and Miasozharivka. 12 enemy attacks were successfully repelled. The situation remains tense near Stelmakhivka, where three engagements continue.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff reported that the defence forces are reinforcing their positions in certain areas towards Kramatorsk.

Yesterday russian troops lost 314 servicemen towards Pokrovsk. An enemy tank, three cannons, four armoured combat vehicles and a car were destroyed. In addition, two more armoured combat vehicles, one artillery system and nine vehicles were damaged.

The fighter of the Azymut brigade informed that russian troops are gaining a foothold in the outer houses of Sokil village towards Pokrovsk.  The Armed Forces of Ukraine are launching FPV drones at them, but it is “difficult to knock the russians out” of civilian buildings.

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of the regional Prosecutor’s Office, reported that the russian military shelled Toretsk by artillery. As a result, a 65-year-old man was injured.

Selydove City Military Administration informed that russian troops shelled the city for the second time in 24 hours. The press service of the Prosecutor’s Office added that the number of injured as a result of the evening shelling increased to five, including three members of the same family: a 53- and 54-year-old father and mother and their 10-year-old son, who is currently in critical condition, also a 31-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy.

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 23 June is as follows:

Pokrovsk region. Kurakhove community suffered 8 attacks: 3 private houses and 3 apartment buildings in Hirnyk, 3 private houses in Kurakhivka were damaged. 5 houses were damaged in Selydove. A house was destroyed in Vovche of Hrodivka community.

Kramatorsk region. In the evening, russians hit Pryvillia of Kramatorsk community by a rocket, with no casualties. A guided aerial bomb damaged 13 houses, 2 outbuildings and 5 infrastructure facilities in Kostiantynivka. The outskirts of Mykolaivka community were under attack.

Bakhmut region. 2 people were killed and 2 injured, 17 houses, 3 infrastructure facilities and an administrative building were damaged in Toretsk. Also, a person was injured and an administrative building damaged in Pivnichne; 10 private houses were damaged in Petrivka. In Siversk, 1 house was destroyed and 1 damaged. A person was injured in Dronivka.

In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 19 times over the day. 95 people, including 7 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed that yesterday russians killed 2 civilians in Toretsk. Another 4 people were injured in the oblast.

Luhansk oblast

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that an enemy attack towards Siversk was repelled as anti-tank gunners of the Pomsta (Revenge) border brigade destroyed two enemy infantry fighting vehicles with a Corsar ATGM and a unit of the Armed Forces hit a tank of the invaders. Seven invaders were eliminated.

According to Luhansk RMA, food and medicines were delivered to the liberated Nevske, Novoliubivka and Makiivka despite the difficult security situation. Even though people do not agree to evacuate, they will not be left without support. One man received help upon re-register his pension through a banking institution. Also residents got the things they had ordered earlier.

Towards Kupiansk, enemy troops stormed Ukrainian positions 15 times, specifically  near Andriivka, Miasozharivka and Stelmakhivka. Near the latter, the situation remained tense throughout the day. 

Towards Lyman, the invaders attacked the Ukrainian Defence Forces 8 times, near Nevske.

Also russians shelled Nevske by multiple rocket launchers. In addition to it, they used artillery and mortars to shell Stelmakhivka, Kuzemivka and Makiivka.

The RMA added that electricity tariffs for households in the so-called “lpr” will be increased from 1 July. From now on, the price of electricity will increase at least once a year until it reaches the level of neighbouring regions of russia. In general, tariffs for housing and communal services will be increased by 30% from July.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

A race is being organised in Kyiv in honour of military journalist Oleksiy ‘Recruit’ Chubashev. The charity race will take place on 30 June 2024. All funds raised will be used for the needs of the International Legion. You can join offline in Kyiv and online from any corner of the world. The Race of Honour named after Recruit was initiated by the wife of the warrior-scout Yulia Chubasheva together with Run Ukraine. The programme of the event includes 5 and 10 kilometres races. 

Also, in memory of Oleh Halinkin, a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and football from Nikopol, a competition will be held in Kyiv. It will take place on 29 June. Players over 55 years old will participate in Kyiv Football Cup in his memory.

Kyiv schoolgirl Anastasia Minitskaya invented a unique protective material for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.  The material is based on porous aluminium previously developed in Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for military purposes and further improved. 

Ruslan Kravchenko, head of Kyiv RMA, reported that the enemy attacked the oblast with missiles. In Vasylkiv of Obukhiv district of Kyiv oblast, 35 private houses were damaged by falling debris, 2 of them were destroyed. Apartments in 6 apartment blocks were damaged. Debris damaged the hospital buildings. A number of administrative buildings were damaged: the employment centre, the premises of the heating network and one enterprise, a driving school, a pharmacy, a petrol station, a shop, a hotel, and 9 cars. Windows, balconies, doors were smashed, facades and roofs were cut. The GEM Foundation will replace the windows in the damaged apartment buildings and the hospital. Andrey Zasukha Foundation will repair roofs on damaged facilities and replace windows in the private sector.  

Two adults with minor injuries sought medical assistance. No hospitalisation was required, all assistance was provided on the spot. 

SES psychologists provided psychological assistance to 35 people, including 6 children. 

Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn announced that the community donated FPV drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

The UAVs were handed over to the soldiers of combat units defending different parts of the frontline: 15 FPV drones with thermal imaging cameras for the Armed Forces of Ukraine towards Kharkiv and Donetsk, 10 FPV drones with thermal imaging cameras for the Security Service of Ukraine towards Zaporizhzhia, and 10 FPV drones with thermal imaging cameras for the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine towards Kharkiv.

Bucha Mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk reports that an inclusive shelter is being built for the Sports Academy in Bucha. Builders are installing a ground shelter for 100 people. 

A similar shelter for 120 people will be installed in Bucha City Park, so visitors can walk around with effective protection during air raids.

Zhytomyr oblast

The 115th separate brigade of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that a serviceman of the 139th separate battalion, Junior Sergeant Andrii Pavliuk, who had been considered missing since the end of March 2023, returned home from captivity. Andrii is currently undergoing rehabilitation in a health centre.

The restoration of educational institutions in Zhytomyr oblast is underway as part of the EU4UASchools: Build Back Better project  initiated by the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine. The main goal of the ECHO4SCHOOLS-UA: Repair/Modernisation of Schools in War-Affected Regions is to support the authorities in reducing further socio-economic losses and accelerating recovery by repairing schools and kindergartens. Within the framework of this project, it is planned to renovate 31 educational institutions in 12 communities of Zhytomyr oblast. In particular, a large-scale restoration of Sinhurivka Lyceum of Novohuivyno village council, damaged as a result of hostilities, was carried out. 

Svatovo Military Administration informed that Internally displaced persons from Luhansk oblast will receive free medicines in Zhytomyr. The distribution of medicines will start on 21 July at the Coordination Centre for Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons from Luhansk oblast. This initiative is an important step in supporting internally displaced people.

Sumy oblast

At night and in the morning, the russians launched 10 attacks.There were thirty-four explosions. In Bilopillia community, there were a series of attacks by FPV drones – 11 explosions, artillery shelling – 5 explosions and the dropping of explosives from a UAV – 1 explosion. In Seredyna-Buda community, the dropping of explosives from a UAV was recorded – 1 explosion.There was a small arms fire in Esman community. The russians dropped 8 mines in Shalyhyne community.The enemy attacked Sadove community with a UAV – 1 explosion. In Yunakivka community, russians fired from cannon artillery – 8 explosions.

Over the past day, russians made 30 attacks. Thus, in Krasnopillia community, FPV drones were used – 4 explosions, artillery – 13 explosions, mortars – 9 explosions, and tanks – 5 explosions. In Znob-Novgorodske community, the enemy fired from cannon artillery – 2 explosions, and  mortars – 2 explosions. In Shalyhyne community, russians dropped 6 mines on the community’s territory. In Esman community, small arms fire was recorded, an FPV drone strike resulted in 1 explosion, mortar fire – 9 explosions, and artillery – 14 explosions. In Yunakivka community, there were attacks by FPV drones – 2 explosions, and shelling from cannon artillery – 6 explosions. In Mykolaivka community, there were attacks by FPV drones – 2 explosions. In Bilopillia community, attacks by FPV drones were recorded – 4 explosions, and the dropping of explosives from a UAV – 3 explosions. In Seredyna-Buda community, the enemy used mortars – 2 explosions, FPV drones attacked – 2 explosions. In Khotyn community, russians dropped 4 mines on the community’s territory. An FPV drone attack took place in Hlukhiv community – 1 explosion.

In Shostka region, a fire in the residential sector caused by enemy shelling was extinguished. Two houses and two outbuildings were saved.

A house in Khotyn community was damaged as a result of mortar shelling. There were no casualties. 

In the evening, russians damaged two residential buildings in Seredyna-Buda with a high-explosive shell. There were no casualties.

Chernihiv oblast

Lyubov Plionsak, senior press officer of Chernihiv border guard detachment, said that the russian army attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Horodnia. In Novhorod-Siverskyi community there were 13 explosions (probably from cannon artillery) near Buchky village; 20 explosions (probably from a 120 mm mortar) in the direction of Hremyach village; 1 explosion (probably an explosive device dropped from a russian UAV) near Mykhalchyna Sloboda village. In Semenivka community, 8 explosions (allegedly from cannon artillery) near the village of Liskivshchyna; 5 explosions (allegedly from a 120 mm mortar) near the village of Bleshnya; 10 explosions (allegedly from an 82 mm mortar) near village of Bleshnia. In Horodnia community, there were 11 explosions (allegedly from 152 mm cannon artillery) near the village of Gasychivka; and 3 explosions (allegedly from cannon artillery) near the village of Berylivka.

In Chernihiv, volunteers from the Unity of Chernihiv charity fund held an event to draw attention to the reconstruction of Bobrovytsia neighbourhood. Tatiana Fedorenko, Head of the foundation,  explained that it had repeatedly suffered from russian shelling. A charity bike ride was held to commemorate all the victims of the war. The Medical Aid Committee in Zakarpattia Charitable Foundation also provided assistance, and with its support, volunteers presented 10 bicycles to the residents of Bobrovytsia.

On 22 June, relatives and friends of the defenders of Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the Azov regiment held rallies in Chernihiv to draw attention to the problems with the exchange of prisoners of war. For example, 89 National Guardsmen from Chornobyl nuclear power plant are still in russian captivity. No one can say the exact number of Azov people imprisoned by russia. According to various sources, there are between 1,500 and 2,000.

In Chernihiv oblast, Anatolii Khramov, soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was paid tribute. He was killed while performing a combat mission in Luhansk oblast.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that the enemy shelled Nikopol with artillery. In the morning, the attacks resumed, and 5 kamikaze drones were launched at the region’s center. Two trucks and a car were damaged, as well as an infrastructure facility. 

During the day, the occupiers attacked Nikopol 14 times. They used kamikaze drones and artillery. They targeted the region’s center, Myrove, Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka communities. The enemy shelling in Nikopol damaged a shop, 10 private houses, a car, 7 outbuildings, destroyed another one, and hit a power line.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​In Vinnytsia oblast, a 44-year-old veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Yaroslav Begas is preparing for a bicycle ride along the Pacific coast in Canada. He has to ride a bike for 120 kilometers.

Kirovohrad oblast

A rally in support of the captured soldiers of the Mariupol garrison was organized in Kropyvnytskyi. It was called “Do not be silent. Captivity Kills”. The participants formed a column of hundreds of cars and motorcycles near the Paratrooper Grove.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy oblast, military medic Vasyl Bandurko was laid to rest in Horodyshche. The man was killed in the Donetsk oblast during a combat mission. It is known that he was a combat medic of a mechanized platoon of the Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi Mechanized Brigade.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers attacked nine settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast 522 times. russian forces carried out six airstrikes on Novomykolaivka, Novoivanivka, and Kamianske. 185 UAVs of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. 28 MLRS attacks hit Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, and Robotyne. There were 303 artillery shelling attacks on the territories of Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Levadne, and Malynivka. There were five reports of the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure objects.

An energy worker wounded the day before by a russian missile strike on an energy facility in Zaporizhzhia region has died in the hospital.

It is reported that the occupiers conducted nine assaults towards Orikhiv. All of them were without success.

Border guards destroyed the enemy’s electronic warfare system towards Zaporizhzhia. The combat operation to destroy the target was carried out at night by the State Border Guard fighters after they had previously reconnoitered the location where the enemy had hidden the electronic warfare system.

Mykolaiv oblast

In the evening of 22 June, at 19:12, the enemy shelled the water area in Ochakiv community with artillery. There were no casualties.

On 23 June, a peaceful rally titled “Don’t Be Silent. Captivity Kills!” was held in Mykolaiv to support prisoners of war and missing persons. The rally was attended by 150 people.

Odesa oblast

There is one enemy submarine missile carrier equipped with up to four Kalibr-type cruise missiles in combat duty in the Black Sea. Eight enemy ships, three of which are surface missile carriers equipped with up to 20 Kalibr-type cruise missiles, are on combat duty in the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

The occupying forces once again attacked Stanislav. As a result of the drone attack, two residents of Stanislav were injured. The men were diagnosed with blast injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and concussions.

The occupiers dropped explosives from a drone on a 48-year-old man while he was working in a field. The victim was hospitalized with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his neck, shoulder, and leg.

Yesterday, russian aggressors once again attacked civilian infrastructure in Berislav, Kakhovka, and Kherson regions using artillery, UAVs, guided bombs, and missile strikes. The targeted areas included Kherson, Prydniprovske, Antonivka, Poniativka, Veletenske, Ivanivka, Oleksandrivka, Sadove, Romashkove, Inzhenerne, Beryslav, Lviv, Mykhailivka, Dudchany, Novovorontsovka, Kachkarivka, Novomykolaivka, Chervonyi Maiak, and Vesele. The shelling resulted in damage to an apartment building, four private houses, two civilian and one police service vehicle, a company building, a cultural institution, and a utility building. Three hectares of wheat crops were destroyed. Six people were injured.

Kherson RMA reported that another resident of Kherson, injured during yesterday’s russian shelling in Dniprovskyi district, had sought medical attention. The 31-year-old man was diagnosed with blast injuries and wounds to the thigh and lower leg.

Two fires broke out yesterday due to russian shelling. After explosives were dropped from an enemy UAV, a residential house caught fire in the village of Romashkove. Shelling ignited a non-residential building and a private residential house simultaneously in Stanislav.

The enemy conducted eight assaults towards Krynyky on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Suffering losses, they retreated to their original positions.

Yesterday, Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 141 occupiers and 32 units of weaponry and military equipment. They also destroyed a field supply buildup, four ammunition storage sites, two observation posts, a field fuel and lubricants depot, a command post, a UAV control station, three firing positions, and nine bunkers.

Volunteers from the Kherson Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross, in cooperation with the World Food Program, distributed food packages to local residents aged 60 and older. Each food package contains long-term storage products, including canned meat, pasta, oil, and sugar.

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council sent 2 DJI MAVIC 3 quadcopters, a DJI MAVIC 3 Enterprise quadcopter, 5 FPV drones with daylight, 5 FPV drones with thermal imaging cameras and 10 batteries for quadcopters to the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Unit of the A4044 Military Unit.

In the village of Zarechya, Volodymyr community, the centre for sustainability has started its work/ It is the barrier-free and safe space where everyone can receive psychological first aid. Centre workers advise on social services available in the community; provide professional psychological support; contribute to the creation of a friendly space for learning, communication and recreation.

Zakarpattia oblast

This week, the Owl’s Nest Humanitarian Aid Center provided IDPs registered in Uzhgorod with 30 packages with necessary things for children under 1 year old, 50 bags with grocery sets and 50 packages with hygiene kits. During the week, volunteers gave out clothes, shoes, bed linen and dishes (2,600 items) from the PDUM Partnerschaft Deutschland-Ukraine/Moldova e. V., Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help eV and other benefactors.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Prykarpattia received 20 tonnes of construction materials, namely, emergency response kits to 90 households, which include: a tarp; transparent film; nails; boards; OSB plates; rails; mounting foam; screws and scotch, from the Rokada CF.

Lviv oblast

The All-Ukrainian Forum of Recruiters was held in Lviv oblast. The event was attended by army recruitment specialists, representatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military units, as well as authorities. Within the framework of which they took part in discussion about ways of development of recruiting in Ukraine and solving problems related to this process. Oleksii Bezhevets, Authorised Representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on recruiting issues, noted that 25 recruiting centres have been created in Ukraine over the past few months. So far, 8,000 consultations have already been conducted. By the end of this year, they plan to launch a nationwide network of over 40 centres in the country.

In Zimnovodovsk community, students, together with parents and teachers, organised charity fairs in support of defenders. Thanks to them, the school community raised over UAH 600,000 for 35 FPV drones to the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade Achilles.

The City Center for IDP Support in Lviv is 2 years old. During this time, specialists provided over 22,500 consultations to people who were forced to leave their homes due to the war. The centre provides consultations on social support, document processing, employment and other issues related to the life of the city.

Rivne oblast

In Rivne oblast, 23 servicemen have already used the services of free dentures. In 2 months, services were provided there to 13 servicemen. The initiative will be implemented as part of the Government’s pilot project until the end of 2024.

A canister therapy centre has opened in Rivne oblast. The project is financed within the framework of the Royal Canin Foundation. All specialists have over 5 years of work experience, possess the necessary skills and knowledge in this field. A psychologist, dog trainer, rehabilitator, defectologist and 3 friendly dogs will work with the visitors.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA reported that the Union of Mothers and Wives of Defenders of Ukraine initiated an information campaign to remind about the importance of observing a daily minute of silence. They created a video clip to attract the attention of society.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Chief sergeant Mykhailo Bondarchuk; senior soldier Maksym Zaichenko; senior soldier Taras Chvartatskyi; soldier Serhii Bondarchuk; soldier Andrii Pilkevich; soldier Mykola Kozak; junior sergeant Ivan Romanyuk were awarded with the III degree For Courage Order (posthumously). The For Military Service to Ukraine medal (posthumously) was awarded to senior soldier Oleksandr Hosudarskyi.

Chernivtsi oblast

Representatives of the Department of Regional Development of Chernivtsi RMA, experts of Chernivtsi Regional Employment Center, held field meetings with servicemen, members of their families, as well as widows of defenders of Vyzhnytsk, Dnistrovsk and Chernivtsi regions of the oblast. 20 veterans have already received state grants in Bukovina.

The RMA reported that Kamiansk community in the 1st quarter of 2024 allocated UAH 485,000 for various needs related to ensuring the state’s defence capability and caring for military personnel.

The RMA reported that Viktor Kinskyi, Palamar Maksym, Serhii Kulakov and Oleksandr Samoilenko, soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine were awarded III degree Orders of Courage (posthumously) by decree of the President of Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Since 2022, the EU training mission has trained more than 52,000 Ukrainian soldiers. This is three times higher than the announced expectations.

Ukraine and Georgia have resumed ferry service. It was stopped after the start of a full-scale war. The 1st flight from Chornomorsk to Batumi is scheduled for 9 July. Travel time is about 60 hours.

The Notus Energy German company will build a wind power plant in Odesa. Currently, Notus Energy is in the process of building a wind farm with a total capacity of 300 MW. The 1st phase, which will amount to 120 MW, should appear soon.

In Slovenia, the concert of svetlana zakharova, russian prima ballerina, was cancelled. The performance, which was supposed to take place as part of Ljubljana Festival, was cancelled thanks to the complex work of the Embassy of Ukraine in Slovenia, representatives of Slovenian state institutions and with the assistance of the Ukrainian community in Slovenia.
