Towards Shakhtarsk, russian soldiers conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Blahodatne and Staromykhailivka, Donetsk oblast. They also made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions east of Staromykhailivka. Towards Zaporizhzhia, the russian army is concentrating its main efforts on preventing further advancement of the Ukrainian military. They launched an aviation strike in the area of Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Over 15 populated areas, including Novodarivka, Bilohirya, Orikhiv, and Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia oblast, were shelled with artillery.

Kharkiv oblast

Towards Kupiansk, our troops successfully repelled another enemy attack east of Berestove yesterday.
The press service of the Regional State Administration reported that the first three of 10 module boiler houses have been installed in Izium. In Izium, they are being equipped at the expense of the regional budget, at a cost of UAH 60 million.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that today, around 12 am, the enemy shelled Pershotravneve village, Izium region. A private building, an extension to a residential building, an outbuilding and grass of 200 square metres caught fire at different addresses.
Around midnight, the enemy attacked Kharkiv with five Shahed drones. A three-storey building of an educational institution in Saltiv region was hit. Two floors were destroyed and a fire broke out. There were no casualties.

Three more 3 hits on the territory of the sports complex in Shevchenkove region. A two-storey building was damaged. A 63-year-old security guard was injured and hospitalised.

Luhansk oblast
The enemy is pushing near Novoselivske and has tried several times to test the strength of our defence line. However, Ukrainian soldiers are bravely holding the line and have once again repelled russian assaults in this frontline. The contact line is constantly under attack by the enemy air strikes. They also continue to terrorise settlements, including Bilohorivka and Nevske, with artillery.
The invaders continue to use civilian infrastructure to deploy personnel. For instance, about 100 russian servicemen are currently living in a mine dispensary in Nyzhnii Naholchyk, near Antratsyt. In Semykozivka in Bilovodsk region, about the same number of invaders are located in the buildings of an educational institution.
Before the start of the new school year, russians are looking for children who do not attend school in the occupied territories. If they find such cases, they threaten the family with loss of parental rights.
Luhansk Regional Military Administration said that residents of Sievierodonetsk region have sent almost 35K reports about their homes destroyed by russians. In total, there are more than 39K such reports in the region. As of 31 July, citizens of Luhansk oblast sent 39055 information reports about damaged/destroyed real estate. The military administrations of the territorial communities processed 33392 reports.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
In July, russian troops attacked Kyiv with 16 Shahed UAVs. According to Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, there were no attacks with Kinzhal, cruise or ballistic missiles on the capital. At the same time, the threat of repeated missile attacks on Kyiv by russia remains high.
As part of their working visit to Kyiv oblast, the Croatian delegation visited Lyceum No. 2 and Veselka kindergarten in Hostomel. The guests donated a powerful generator from the Republic of Croatia and the UNICEF International Fund for the boiler room that supports the kindergarten and several houses. Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the RMA, announced that 11 MAVIC 3Ts were handed over by Kyiv region to the fighters of the 114th Brigade of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Some of its separated battalions are actively destroying the invaders in the east of the country.
Kyiv RMA reported that 10 communities in Kyiv oblast have received school buses – this is the first batch purchased at the expense of the state, regional and local budgets. In total, the communities will receive 45 buses. It is noted that today in the region more than 32 thousand children live outside the walking distance to schools. Currently, there are 328 school buses, but this number is not enough.
The emblem of the former USSR was removed from the Motherland monument in Kyiv. The Ministry of Culture reported that the replacement of the communist symbol with the Trident will be completed by Ukraine’s Independence Day.
Zhytomyr oblast
Zhytomyr City Council announced that the first modular shelters will be installed in Zhytomyr oblast. Six basic shelters will operate on the territory of the community and the budget will allocate UAH 25 million for their construction. Each building will be able to accommodate 20 to 50 people.
A sports competition for combatants and veterans will be held in Zhytomyr. This was reported on the page of the Strongman Federation of Ukraine. The event, called Strong of Ukraine, will take place on August 6. Participants will compete in rowing on a simulator, air bikes, and bench press.
Sumy oblast
On July 31, 28 enemy attacks took place during the day. There were 164 explosions recorded. The enemy fired at 17 settlements in 8 territorial communities: Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Khotyn, Seredyno-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, Velyka Pysarivka, and Nova Sloboda. The enemy used mortars, artillery, grenade launchers, and MLRS, as well as two unguided rockets launched from a helicopter. As a result of the shelling, the roof of a private grain storage facility, 5 households, and 1 yard were damaged and 1 person was wounded.
A total of 21 explosions were heard over Sumy oblast during the night. The enemy shelled 3 settlements in 3 territorial communities: Bilopillia, Yunakivka, and Shalyhine.
As reported by Sumy Regional Military Administration, the number of people injured by a missile strike in Sumy has increased to 22. Three people remain in hospital.
A significant part of the unique linocut engravings dedicated to the Holodomor was saved in the in Sumy. On July 29, an enemy missile destroyed the educational building of the Sumy Interregional Higher Vocational School, which was home to the center for research on the Holodomor resistance movement in Sumy oblast.
Sumy Mayor Oleksandr Lysenko reported that a meeting was held with residents of the damaged houses. They discussed the restoration of property and other types of assistance. At the next session, authorities will consider allocating funds from the community budget to help the victims.
Chernihiv oblast
In the last 24 hours, the russian invaders fired on Semenivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi communities in Chernihiv oblast, inflicting 71 strikes on local territories. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service. The enemy fired 59 mortar rounds and 10 rockets in the direction of the villages of Zaliznyi Mist, Mykolayivka and Karpovychi in Semenivka region. There were two attacks from barrel artillery in the direction of the village of Krasny Khutir in Novhorod-Siverskyi region.
On the night of August 1, a russian sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to infiltrate the territory of Ukraine. The subversives, who were detected by a thermal imager, were subjected to lethal fire. The area was reinforced by the reserves of the SBGSU and the Armed Forces.
In Chernihiv oblast, a battalion commander of the russian army was notified of suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war. A 30-year-old battalion commander executed a man who served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces after torturing him and three other local residents. It happened in the village of Lukashivka while it was temporarily occupied.
Teams of foresters, electricians and military personnel in the Horodnya region together bought a car for the defenders. Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv RMA, informed that about 70,000 square meters of camouflage netting was made for the front line by volunteers from Nizhyn. The sapper divers of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast have been actively involved since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. They have conducted 55 tasks, surveyed 18.73 hectares of underwater areas, and destroyed 79 different calibre munitions. Despite their efforts, there are ongoing concerns, particularly in areas previously surveyed but now submerged or flooded after the occupiers blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam, as water continuously brings various explosive objects back into the area, posing a continuous threat.
Odesa oblast

NABU leadership met with Jennes de Mol, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine, and Sebastian van der Weide, Second Secretary for Political Affairs. The key purpose of the meeting is cooperation to overcome corruption.
Dmytro Kuleba, Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, reported that Ukraine and Croatia agreed on the export of Ukrainian grain through the Danube and the Adriatic Sea.
Three foreign vessels entered the Ukrainian port. This is the first time since russia’s refusal to extend the grain agreement. The cargo ships belong to Greek, Israeli and Turkish-Georgian companies.
The UN confirmed the death of 9 369 and the wounding of 16 646 civilians as a result of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation. Of them, 7 283 people were killed and 13 725 wounded in the territory controlled by Ukraine: in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts – 4 184 killed and 6 062 wounded, in other oblasts – 3 099 killed and 7 663 wounded. On the territory occupied by russia, 2 086 civilians were confirmed killed and 2 921 wounded: in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts – 758 killed and 2 641 wounded, in other oblasts – 1 328 killed and 280 wounded.
The international organization UNESCO has confirmed the damage to 274 cultural objects in Ukraine since the war began. According to the new report, UNESCO recorded the most damage to cultural objects in Donetsk (78 objects), Kharkiv (55 objects), Kyiv (38 objects), Luhansk (33 objects) and Chernihiv oblasts (17 ). There is also damage in Zaporizhzhia (12 objects), and Sumy (12 objects), Odesa and Mykolaiv (8 each), Kherson (6), Zhytomyr (3), Vinnytsia (2), Dnipropetrovsk (1) and Lviv oblasts (1).
