Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian army launched 2 missile and 28 air strikes, about 20 MLRS attacks. Last night, russian troops employed 12 Shahed-136 combat UAVs to launch air strikes, 8 of which were destroyed by Ukrainian soldiers.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and air strikes.

The russian army focuses on offensive operations towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Mariinka, and Shakhtarsk. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled about 30 russian attacks in these areas of the frontline during. The city of Bakhmut remains at the epicenter of fighting.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. Certain units of the armed forces of the republic of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine. Some units of the territorial troops of the russian armed forces continue their deployment on the territory of Belarus.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the units of russian troops remain stationed in the areas of Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod oblasts (russia) bordering Ukraine. Russian troops shelled the settlements of Leonivka, Chernihiv oblast, Kindrativka, Sumy oblast, Hoptivka, and Vovchanski Khutory, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, the russian army did not conduct any offensive operations. Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, Ivanivka, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, Zvanivka, Donetsk oblast were shelled with artillery.

Towards Bakhmut, the russian army continues its offensive operations. Fierce fighting for the city of Bakhmut continues. Russian troops attempted to advance near the settlement of Bohdanivka. Rozdolivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, Dyliivka, Zalizne, Pivnichne, Pivdenne, and New York, Donetsk oblast, suffered from russian shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, russian troops conducted offensive operations in the vicinities of Novokalynove, Stepove, and Nevelske, Donetsk oblast, to no success. Russian soldiers shelled the settlements of Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous russian attacks in the vicinity of the settlement of Mariinka. At the same time, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Heorhiivka, Pobjeda, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast, were shelled by the russian army.

Towards Shakhtarsk, russian military conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Vuhledar. Russian troops shelled the settlements of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army is on the defensive. Russian soldiers fired from mortars and artillery in the vicinity of Olhivske, Pavlivka, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Zaporizhzhia oblast, as well as the city of Kherson.

Russian unit of about 300 recruited convicts arrived in the temporarily occupied Skadovsk, Kherson oblast, allegedly to ensure law and order. Rumors are being spread among russian soldiers about the prompt end of active combat to be followed by territorial concessions in favor of russia. The rumors are probably intended to boost russian morale. At the same time, certain combat units previously located in the city are reported to be gradually withdrawn from the settlement to the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched 1 air strike on a concentration of russian troops and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit 1 buildup of russian troops, 1 anti-aircraft missiles and system, as well as 2 other important military targets of the russian army.

Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, reports that Ukraine exchanged one priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Ukraine for 28 Ukrainian military personnel. In general, since 2022, criminal proceedings have been instituted against 61 clergymen. 7 verdicts were passed against individual clerics who sided with the enemy. 

During the week,70 children were evacuated from the frontline areas. This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk. 56 children remain in 21 settlements of the Donetsk region. Forced evacuation of children is currently underway. 

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 1,564 households and 330 houses remain flooded. Seasonal water level rise occurs within the Vyt, Dnipro, Desna, Seim, Sozh, Pripyat, Horyn, and Zahidny Buh rivers in the territories of the Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Rivne, Poltava, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions. Transport connections have been disrupted in up to 30 settlements. 

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine informed that about 30% of the territory of Ukraine is mined. Currently, the training of another 400 sappers, who will start their work in June-July, is being completed. An additional 500 people are also being recruited, who will begin their duties after appropriate training.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that towards Kupiansk, the russian military conducted an unsuccessful assault near the settlement of Lyman Pershiy. The russian federation continues to maintain a part of its troops in the border areas of the Belgorod region in the direction of Slobojan. At least seven settlements in Kharkiv oblast came under fire. 

During the attack on Vovchansk by guided aerial bombs in the evening of April 18, the building of the Vovchansky district court was damaged.  The Court Security Service reported property was partially salvaged. 

In Kharkiv region, it was forbidden to hold mass events in theaters, museums, libraries, clubs, the philharmonic hall and in open spaces with an audience of more than 50 people during the martial law in Ukraine. According to the press service of the regional administration, events can be held in three locations in Kharkiv in the subway, “Yermilov Center” and the small hall of the Khnatob. 

Sappers have demined almost 1,100 kilometers of power lines since the beginning of the autumn counteroffensive in Kharkiv oblast. This is now a priority area of work for them. One of the groups worked between de-occupied villages of Hrakov and Mospanov. They found and neutralized about 40 mines and came across a minefield.

In Kharkiv, 75-year-old Japanese volunteer Fuminori Tsuchiko opened a free cafe where hot lunches and pies are baked. The cafe is located on Saltivka, near the “Heroiv Pratsi” metro station, where people had to hide from shelling for several months. Fuminori rented premises in the market, found cooks. The free cafe is financially supported by benefactors, caring compatriots of the Japanese.

The enemy continued shelling the border and front-line settlements of Kharkiv, Kupiansk and Chuguyiv districts. Kozacha Lopan, Hoptivka, Kupyansk, Dvorichna, Vovchansk and other settlements were under the russian fire. 

As a result of shelling in Kupiansk, at least 2 private houses were damaged and fires broke out. In addition, the enemy fired artillery and mortars at the village of Dvorichna and the village of Kucherivka of Kupyan district. There were no casualties. 

Demining continues. Pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service inspected about 12.7 hectares of territory and neutralized 105 explosive objects.

Donetsk oblast

Russia is focusing its main efforts on conducting offensives towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Mariinka, and Shakhtarsk. Units of the defense forces of Ukraine repelled about 30 russian attacks on these areas of the front during the day. The city of Bakhmut remains at the epicenter of hostilities. 

On the outskirts of Bakhmut, Ukrainian defenders from the 93rd brigade planted young forest seedlings. This was reported in the state enterprise “Forests of Ukraine”. Despite fierce battles, lack of normal sleep, rest, our defenders find time for this! 

Towards Volnovakha in Uhledarsk community, Novoukrainka was shelled from Hrady, Bohoiavlenka – from artillery, Prechistivka – with incendiary ammunition. Isolated shelling of the old part of Avdiivka was recorded in Donetsk direction.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed in the Chasov Yar. In Bakhmut, 2 high-rise buildings and 8 private houses were destroyed. 2 more houses were damaged in Toretsk community. Kostiantynivka was hit by S-300 missiles, and the unfinished building was damaged. 

Towards Lysychansk, 1 person was injured in Zarichny of Lyman community. 

Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of Donetsk RMA, reported that the russians killed one civilian of Donetsk region, in the city of Chasiv Yar. 1 more person was injured in the region.

According to Petro Andriuschenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, russians began filming a propaganda film about the battles for Mariupol. 

Luhansk oblast

Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Dibrova and Bilohorivka were once again shelled from artillery by the occupiers. 

Luhansk RMA reports that most people stay in Nevsky. This is one of the less damaged settlements. The enemy knows this and therefore targets residential homes. Another residential building was destroyed there. The enemy tried to improve the tactical position in the Serebriansk forestry area, but his offensive actions, thanks to our fighters.

In schools in the temporarily occupied territories, the russians first tried to exert a disinformation influence within the so-called “conversations about important things”, a special propaganda lesson, held once a week and is mandatory to attend. From now on, the section on the war in Ukraine is included in the program on the history of the russian federation. 

The occupiers are also planning to introduce mandatory military training for high school students from next year, to prepare them to be drafted into the army through state pressure. 

The head of the Luhansk RMA, Artem Lysohor, said that they are working with international partners and state bodies to provide assistance in the reconstruction of Luhansk region after liberation.  Russians do not stop trying to attack in Serebriansk Forestry. It also became known that there are captured occupiers in the Bilohorivka area. Support for people in non-de-occupied territory continues, opportunities to evacuate have been created. The humanitarian situation in the occupied territory of Luhansk region is deteriorating. 

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

At night, 8 enemy UAVs were detected and shot down on their approach to the capital. According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the last similar attack on the capital took place 25 days ago. According to preliminary information, the terrorist country used a new batch of Iranian “Shahed” drones.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that regional offices of international cooperation will be established in the de-occupied regions, which will become an information and analytical platform for data systematisation, project support and coordination of international cooperation between all parties represented in the oblast. The main areas of activity of these offices are humanitarian and social assistance, restoration of everything destroyed by the russian army.

With the help of Lithuania, a school in Borodianka and the Radist kindergarten in Irpin are to be rebuilt by the start of the new school year. Recently, in cooperation with the Lithuanian delegation, a modular town was opened in Borodyanka. This town can host 36 families who lost their homes due to the war. The Government of the Republic of Lithuania has allocated more than EUR 11 million for the implementation of projects to restore Ukraine’s infrastructure.

According to Andriy Nebytov, the head of the Kyiv region police, In the village of Lypivka, local residents discovered an anti-tank mine planted by russian invaders on the side of the main street. The bomb squad that arrived at the scene cleared the area from the mine and checked the street for other dangerous items left by the enemy during the occupation.

In Kyiv, a funeral ceremony has been held on Maidan Nezalezhnosti for former MP Oleh Barna, who was killed at the frontline, and his brother-in-arms Valeriy Dorokhov. Oleh Barna was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity, in the spring of the same year he volunteered for the Anti-Terrorist Operation; in civilian life he worked as a teacher and was elected as a Member of Parliament of the 8th convocation from the Petro Poroshenko Party.

Vitali Klitschko, the Mayor of Kyiv, reported that he met with a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development led by EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso. According to him, several important projects will be implemented in the capital in cooperation with the EBRD, in particular, Green Cities, Modernisation of Kyiv City Transport II, Modernisation of Kyiv District Heating System.

UNDP, with support from the Government of Japan, has donated 5 powerful generators for critical infrastructure in Kyiv Oblast. They will ensure the sustainable operation of treatment and sewage plants, heating networks, medical and educational institutions. 

According to the Mayor Vitali Klitschko, Kyiv has signed a Memorandum of Partnership with Copenhagen. Also, he thanked the community of Odense, another Danish twin city, for the humanitarian aid.

Kyiv City Council Members terminated the land lease agreement with the Embassy of the aggressor country – Russia. Also, they appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to return the property of the russian “diplomatic mission” to the ownership of the Ukrainian state.

Zhytomyr oblast

Construction of a shelter in Korosten Lyceum No. 8 suspended due to groundwater flooding. Almost 500 students of the educational institution are currently studying online. According to the mayor of Korosten, Volodymyr Moskalenko, the construction of the shelter will resume after the water recedes, and is expected to be completed in three months.

Deputies of Zhytomyr City Council voted to appeal to Parliament to ban UOC (MP). They insist on the speedy legislative regulation of the ban on the religious organisation, whose governing centre is located in russia.

In Berdychiv, Archpriest of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Ivan Tsykhulyak was presented with the insignia of the 26th Artillery Brigade named after Major General Roman Dashkevych. Since the beginning of armed aggression by russia, the priest has been conducting pastoral work with military personnel at the permanent deployment point, visiting soldiers in the combat zone, working on psychological rehabilitation with the injured soldiers, and volunteering to help the armed forces of Ukraine.

Sumy oblast

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, on April 20, the russian military shelled two communities in Sumy oblast. There were 44 shells fired on their territories. Bilopillia region came under fire: 25 mortar bombs and 9 shells from barrel artillery. The enemy shelled Velyka Pysarivska community from AGS. There were 10 rounds fired.

At night, russian army attacked Bilopillia community once again. This time the enemy launched three artillery strikes on its territory.

In the morning, the enemy shelled the village of Kindrativka in Khotyn community. The driver of a local school was wounded, 33 windows in the school building were shattered by the explosion.

According to the State Environmental Inspectorate of Sumy Oblast, 400 tonnes of hazardous substances were released into the air as a result of a missile strike on March 9 on the city of Shostka. The air pollution was caused by a fire that broke out due to damage to one of the enterprises – substances such as carbon, sulphur and nitrogen dioxides, copper, nickel, cadmium oxides and other toxic compounds were released.

Trostyanets community received humanitarian aid in the form of seed potatoes. Over 14 tonnes of potatoes delivered to Trostianets by the Food and Agriculture Organisation. The aid will be transferred to socially vulnerable categories of the community. 

Chernihiv oblast

According to the ‘North’ operational command, on April 20, the enemy opened mortar and barrel artillery fire on four settlements in Semenivka community. A 25-year-old girl died in Halahanivka as a result of mortar shelling, two other local residents were wounded. The russians fired two mortar bombs at Hremyachka village and four bombs at Yanzhulivka village.

The ‘North’ operational command reported that after 6:00 am, the russian military continued shelling the Semenivka community. Leonivka village was targeted: there were 34 attacks fired from barrel artillery and mortars. Three civilian houses and two cars were damaged.

The State Emergency Service of Chernihiv Oblast reported that rescuers of Chernihiv oblast received 70 fire hoses from ASTED humanitarian organization. Assistance from international partners is intended to strengthen the combat capability of fire and rescue units in the oblast.

Presentation of a book dedicated to the memory of participants of the Ilovaisk tragedy of 2014 and victims of the war of 2022-2023 held in Chernihiv. The story by Oleksiy Bryk “The Displaced Woman”, for which the author received a letter of gratitude from the President of Ukraine, was presented at the Chernihiv Regional Scientific Library.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, the head of DRC, reported that the russian army shelled the Nikopol region at night. They attacked the coastal territories of the Myrove community.  This was reported by the head of the DPR Mykola Lukashu.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Nataliia Humeniuk, a spokesperson for the “South” Operational Command, reported that the russian army hit an infrastructure facility in Vinnytsia Oblast at night. 

Vinnytsia City Council reported that UAH 800,000 were raised at the “Beauty Will Help, Ukraine Will Win” charity project. The funds will be used to purchase two drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The event included an auction of exclusive items. In particular, a flag from General Zaluzhnyi was sold for $3,000.

Kirovohrad oblast

The regional Department of Culture and Tourism reported that the “Give a Ukrainian Book” campaign has started in Kirovohrad Oblast.  The aim of the campaign is to collect books in Ukrainian for our compatriots who are temporarily abroad, in particular for Ukrainian users of the public library in Wroclaw.

Poltava oblast

The head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, reported that the russian army struck Poltava region with UAV at night. Civilian infrastructure was destroyed. 

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy, 30 employees of the State Border Guard Service Training Centre donated blood for the needs of the military. 

Zolotonosha schoolgirl Dariia Fedorets sold her painting for $800 to help IDPs.  A Los Angeles resident bought the painting at a charity auction in Kyiv. The canvas depicts a world-famous image illustrated on a Ukrainian stamp with a phrase for a russian ship. Dariia painted it in two days.

Students and teachers of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi Cherkasy National University have raised over UAH 200,000 to support the military. The funds will be used to buy drones and a car.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the enemy carried out 75 attacks on 18 peaceful cities and villages: 3 aviation strikes, 4 UAV attacks, 2 missile strikes, and 66 artillery shelling. 15 civilian objects were destroyed, including residential buildings and apartments, economic structures, garages, and warehouses of an educational institution. A couple suffered fatal injuries in the Polohy region, as a result of the shelling by the russian federation, and a woman was wounded in the Vasylivka region.

There is an increasing number of buses and other means of transportation in the city of Melitopol. According to the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, this may indicate preparation for their escape. He noted that the enemy has turned the city into its administrative and logistical center in the occupied South, so the local population often suffers from terror.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, the enemy launched artillery strikes on the waters and coastline of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties. Yesterday at 17:37 and 18:24, the city of Ochakiv was shelled by artillery. As a result, private and multi-apartment buildings were damaged. Hits were recorded on the territory of the infrastructure facility. According to the Mykolaiv RMA, there were no casualties.

In April 2022, as a result of missile strikes, the buildings of the Organic Systems Farm in the city of Snihurivka, Bakhchysarai region, and the village of Shevchenkove, the Shevchenkivska territorial community of the Mykolaiv region were destroyed. Construction waste with a total volume of 14.3 thousand cubic meters has polluted 53.4 thousand square meters of land. The amount of damage caused by pollution of land resources is 8.7 million hryvnias. In addition, as a result of missile strikes, there were fires at the company’s facilities, with a total area of the fires being 8.3 thousand square meters. The amount of damage caused by air pollution with substances released during combustion is 31.2 million hryvnias.

Today, European Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič arrived in Mykolaiv on a working visit. The purpose of the visit is to familiarize himself with the consequences of the shelling of civilian and critical infrastructure in Mykolaiv and to provide humanitarian aid.

Odesa oblast

The night of April 20-21 in Odesa oblast passed under the signal of an air raid alarm, but without attacks. However, the threat of enemy missile strikes and kamikaze drone attacks remains relevant for the region. According to the Ukrainian Navy, as of April 20, the enemy’s naval group in the Black Sea consisted of eleven units, including three missile carriers with thirteen “Calibers” on board.

Today, the Minister of Transport of the French Republic, Clement Bon, arrived to Odesa oblast for an official visit. Significant support for French partner regions in the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war has already been planned.

The russian-Ukrainian war continues to claim the lives of the best representatives of Ukrainian people. It became known about the death of Rostyslav Yanchyshyn, a soloist of the ballet of the Odesa Opera, who devoted 10 years of his life to his profession and went to the front as a volunteer.

The Kiliia community in Izmail region received a 240 kW diesel power station from Poland.

Kherson oblast

Russian occupiers shelled the settlements of Kherson oblast 63 times, firing 247 shells from artillery, MLRS, mortars, tanks, drones, and aviation. The occupiers carried out an air attack on the civilian infrastructure in Kizomys. After the strikes with guided aviation bombs, craters were formed at the hit sites, administrative buildings were significantly damaged. The russians struck at the civilian infrastructure of Kherson and its suburbs from the left bank of the Dnipro. Enemy shells hit high-rise and private houses, some of which were completely destroyed by direct hits, and cars were hit by shrapnel. Two people were killed and three more were injured of varying degrees of severity due to russian aggression yesterday. In total, the police of Kherson oblast opened 40 criminal proceedings regarding the facts of war crimes committed by the russian army.

According to Nataliia Humeniuk, the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense and Security of the South, the russian army primarily uses an air attack during the shelling of Kherson oblast, launching guided aviation bombs. The enemy is trying to target recreational and port infrastructure objects.

Occupiers have started another wave of disinformation about the evacuation of children from the occupied part of Kherson oblast to Crimea and russia for “treatment.” This was reported by the First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, Yurii Sobolevskyi. According to him, the russian occupiers continue to put pressure on local residents on the left bank of the Kherson oblast to take russian passports and evacuate to russia.

Employees of the Kherson Art Museum have identified a series of canvases by Kherson artist Kateryna Mykhalychenko from the collection that russian occupiers stole last November. The works were recognized during the study of photographs as of April 1, on which the russian occupiers signing “document” on the preservation of the stolen paintings.

Residents of Kherson oblast continue to receive necessary humanitarian aid from donors. Thus, 300 sets of construction materials for emergency repairs of damaged homes were brought and distributed to the people of Zmiivka. Residents of the villages of Novodmytrivka and Tomyna Balka in the Bilozerka community received over 900 food packages. The residents of the Chornobaivka community received construction materials and food packages.

The Ministry of Reintegration will send 20 mobile shelters to Kherson oblast. Ten structures will be delivered to Kherson city soon to be placed in the most dangerous areas and places of crowded people. A little later, another ten will be sent for placement throughout the region, where the situation with shelling is the most difficult.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that Zakarpattia oblast and Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic signed the Agreement on Cooperation.

Viktor Mykyta, Head of the RMA, met with Vasco Alves Cordeiro, president of the EU Committee of Regions European Committee of the Regions. Cooperation was discussed.

The Zakarpattia RMA and the Man in Trouble, Czech humanitarian organization, are planning to continue this year arrange in the oblast, there are 12 locations for compact accommodation of IDPs.

The Settlers in Zakarpattia: Life without Stereotypes exhibition was opened in Uzhhorod. Short stories about IDPs currently living in Uzhhorod or the oblast are attached to each photo. Soon, the photo exhibition is planned to be presented in other cities of Zakarpattia oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Taras Mykytin, fighter from Prykarpattia, was awarded with the medal For services to Prykarpattia. The serviceman participated in the anti-terrorist operation during 2014-2015. After the war began, he returned to the front again as part of the 80th Airborne Assault Brigade to defend Ukraine.

Lviv oblast

In Lviv, a fountain was solemnly opened on Halytskyi Square, which was dedicated to the Hero of Ukraine Dmytro Da Vinci Kotsiubail and all volunteers of the russian-Ukrainian war. Da Vinci was killed on March 7 in the battle near Bakhmut. At one time, he received the highest state award – the title of Hero of Ukraine and became one of the youngest Heroes of Ukraine. He was 27 years old.

Boys and girls from the village of Bortnyky of Khodoriv community, thanks to patriotic insurgent songs, are collecting funds for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Only during the Easter holidays they collected over UAH 100K.

The Zarozhany Lyceum received 10 computers, 5 laptops, a multimedia projector and screen, a color printer, a speaker system, two professional sewing machines, a model of a Kalashnikov assault rifle, 12 volleyballs, 2 soccer balls and one for rugby,from parents of the fallen defender Davyd Pinchuk, whose son was a graduate. The 22-year-old soldier was killed on May 7 in a heavy battle in the village of Serebrianka, Bakhmut region, Donetsk oblast.

Slovenia became the 25th country to join the joint procurement of ammunition for Ukraine. In addition, the country extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees.

The US will begin training 250 Ukrainian fighters on Abrams in the coming weeks. Some will be trained to drive tanks, others to repair and maintain them.

A representative of the US Attorney General’s Office will be based in The Hague, at the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, to focus on russian crimes against Ukraine. The Ministry of Justice plans to send a permanent legal adviser to the US Embassy in Kyiv this summer.

Dmytro Lubinets, Commissioner for Human Rights, reports that France approved a resolution condemning the deportation of Ukrainian children by russia.

The Seimas of Lithuania introduced sanctions against russians and belarusians, overriding the veto of the president. The adopted version of the law limits the ability of russians and belarusians to obtain visas in Lithuania. In addition, russians will be temporarily deprived of the right to buy real estate, and their applications for temporary residence permits will not be accepted for some time.

Poland opened transit to the Netherlands for Ukrainian agricultural products.

The Sejm of Latvia banned any public celebrations on May 9, except for those related to Europe Day.

Albania canceled the visa-free regime for russians.
