Maria Peychynovych-Burych, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, which includes 46 countries, condemned the execution of Ukrainian soldiers by the russians. “Horrified by the video circulating on the Internet, in which russian troops behead a Ukrainian prisoner of war. This is not humane, and I strongly condemn it,” said Pejchynovych-Burych. She also added that the guilty should be brought to justice.

“One of the videos shows the brutal execution of a man, presumably a Ukrainian prisoner of war, and the other shows the mutilated bodies of presumably Ukrainian servicemen. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case,” the UN statement emphasized. In recent reports, the Mission has documented a number of serious violations of international humanitarian law, including those committed against prisoners of war.
