It has been the 1526  th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

Since the beginning of the day, the aggressor has launched 54 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces.

Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today in the Sumy region, the settlements of Korenok, Rohizne, Bachivsk, Volfyne, Iskryskivshchyna, Tovstodubove, Stara Huta, Prohres, and Mishutyne were affected; in the Chernihiv region – Khrinivka.

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out 37 shelling attacks on populated areas and positions of our troops, two of which involved multiple launch rocket systems. Two combat engagements took place.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched five assaults on the positions of our units in the areas of Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrimivka, and Krasne Pershe. One engagement is still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy did not conduct active operations today.

In the Lyman direction, our defenders repelled two enemy assaults toward the settlements of Drobysheve and Lyman.

In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one attempt by the occupiers to advance toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders once in the area of Nykyforivka.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, the occupiers carried out 13 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, and Stepanivka. Three engagements are currently ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have attempted 17 times to push our forces from their positions toward the settlements of Novopavlivka, Bilytske, Dorozhne, and in the areas of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, and Novopidhhorodne. One engagement is ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivskyi direction, the enemy launched one offensive toward Oleksandrohrad.

In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces repelled nine enemy attacks in the areas of Pryluky, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipole, and toward Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne. The enemy also carried out airstrikes in the areas of Zirnytsia, Barvinivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Liubytske, Huliaipilske, Dolynka, and Charivne. Two engagements are still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out one attack toward Novoandriivka and conducted airstrikes in the areas of Tavriiske and Orikhiv.

In the Prydniprovske direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two enemy assaults in the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island.

In other directions, no significant changes in the situation have been observed so far. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.

Ukrainian forces continue to exhaust the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.

The United States will allocate $100 million for the repair of the Chernobyl NPP confinement structure, which was damaged by a Russian drone. As a result of the strike, the structure lost its airtight integrity. The total cost of repairs is estimated at around €500 million. This was reported by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.

A unit of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the sanctioned vessel “MARQUISE” using two naval kamikaze drones. The tanker, sailing under the flag of Cameroon, has a deadweight of over 37,000 tons. At the time of the strike, the vessel was drifting approximately 210 km southeast of the city of Tuapse (Russia), likely awaiting offshore loading from another vessel. The strike targeted the stern area, specifically the propeller-rudder group and engine room. The tanker “MARQUISE” is under sanctions by Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Canada, and had been used by the enemy for the illegal transportation of petroleum products. The extent of the damage is being уточнюється.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched five assaults on the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrimivka, and Krasne Pershe. As of 16:00, one engagement was still ongoing. In total, over the course of the day, the enemy carried out eight attacks in this direction near Starytsia and toward Hrafske, Okhrimivka, Mala Vovcha, Chervona Zoria, and Bochkovе. In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces conducted four attacks in the areas of Novoplatonivka and Kupiansk.

In Bohodukhiv, following a Russian strike that damaged the city council building, the municipal administration has temporarily relocated. Local authorities continue their work from shelters.

In the village of Petrivka, Barvinkove community, a Russian drone struck a private household. Six people were injured — three men aged 60, 53, and 33, and three women aged 46, 23, and 20. Two of the আহত were hospitalized, while the others received outpatient care. Two residential houses, three outbuildings, and two vehicles were damaged.

The Russian army carried out a missile strike on Chuhuiv. A hit was recorded on the territory of an industrial facility, and windows were shattered in nearby private homes. A 70-year-old woman was injured, sustaining a fracture after falling due to the blast wave.

In Kharkiv, overnight, Russian drones struck several districts of the city. In the Industrialnyi district, a drone hit the territory of a gas station. In the Osnovianskyi district, glazing at a garden center, two buses, and a passenger car were damaged. In the Slobidskyi district, trees caught fire in an open area following a strike. In the Nemyshlianskyi district, windows and roofs of 25 private houses were damaged. One person was injured by glass shards, and another suffered an acute stress reaction.

Over the past 24 hours, Kharkiv and 11 settlements in the region came under enemy attack. As a result of the shelling, two people were killed and seven others were injured. In Chuhuiv, two men aged 74 and 54 were killed, and a 46-year-old woman was injured. In the village of Kotliary, four people were injured, and in Kharkiv — two.

Russian forces used three guided aerial bombs (KABs), 12 “Geran-2” UAVs, two “Molniya” UAVs, three FPV drones, and 47 drones of unspecified type in attacks on the Kharkiv region. Residential buildings, railway infrastructure, transport, farms, administrative buildings, and a shopping center were damaged in Kharkiv, as well as in Bohodukhivskyi, Kupianskyi, Iziumskyi, Kharkivskyi, and Chuhuivskyi districts.

The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 226 people over the past 24 hours. Since the start of its operation, a total of 30,991 evacuees have been registered there.

A woman and her son were evacuated from Kupiansk; they had been living in a basement for an extended period of time. The family left the city on their own, after which they were evacuated by Ukrainian servicemen.

Donetsk oblast

In the Kostiantynivka direction over the past day, Russian forces carried out 21 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces near Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, and Oleksandro-Shultyne. In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 48 assaults.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the movement of Russian units from adjacent sectors of the front has been recorded, aimed at reinforcing offensive operations. Despite this, Ukrainian forces managed to conduct rotations at their positions using drones and ground robotic systems.

In Kramatorsk, during the night, a Russian drone struck a multi-storey residential building, hitting the 8th floor and causing a fire. A 60-year-old woman was injured and diagnosed with a blast injury and a wound to her arm. Rescue services evacuated the victim and also saved her pets. Another drone attack on Kramatorsk in the morning damaged a civilian vehicle and an infrastructure facility.

In Druzhkivka, Russian forces attacked a vehicle belonging to the evacuation group “Phoenix” with a drone.

On April 28 in the Donetsk region, 1,171 enemy strikes were recorded along the front line and in residential areas. Ten settlements came under fire: Bilozerske, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, Komyshuvakha, Dmytrivka, Kindrativka, Orikhuvatka, Samailivka, and Tetiianivka.

As a result of the attacks, two people were killed and three were injured. In Komyshuvakha, a civilian was killed by a Russian FPV drone. Another person was killed during a drone attack in Kindrativka.

Three KAB-250 aerial bombs were dropped by Russian forces on Tetiianivka in the Sviatohirsk community. One person was injured, and eight private houses were damaged.

In Orikhuvatka of the Mykolaivka community, one person was injured and a private house was damaged.

In Sloviansk, a workshop and a civilian vehicle were damaged. In Mykolaivka, an apartment building, an educational institution, and a shop were damaged. In Samailivka, a private household was damaged, and in Bilozerske — three private houses.

Luhansk oblast

In the Luhansk region, Russian forces continue shelling along the front line. Over the past day, the occupiers used mortars six times, fired from automatic grenade launchers five times, struck with tube artillery three times, and also directed five drones toward Ukrainian defenders. In the Lyman and Sloviansk directions, Russian forces carried out 12 attacks near four settlements.

In occupied Luhansk region, a bankrupt Russian investor has left about 1,200 coal miners without wages. Workers at the “Chervonyi Partyzan,” “Dovzhanska-Kapitalna,” and “Imeni Sverdlova” mines have not received salaries since 2025. These enterprises were previously considered “promising” after being transferred to a Russian investor, but have now been declared bankrupt.

Schoolchildren from occupied Luhansk region continue to be involved in militarized programs. A team of students from the so-called “LPR” has been included in an all-Russian military-patriotic competition under the auspices of “Yunarmiya,” where children will compete in drone navigation, weapons assembly and disassembly, and military physical training.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders have destroyed two dozen enemy drones along the oblast’s borders as part of the ‘Clear Sky’ project. In total, more than 3,000 aerial targets have been intercepted since project launch.

The US will allocate $100 million to repair the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant containment structure, damaged by a russian drone on 14 February 2025. The strike caused the structure to lose its airtight seal. This was announced on 29 April by Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal and the US government. The total cost of the repairs will be around €500 million.

The Regional Military Administration reported that the preparatory stage of reconstruction has begun in Kyiv oblast for the Vasylkiv Vocational College, which was destroyed by a russian missile strike in February 2022. The college building was beyond repair following the russian attack. Financial assistance for the reconstruction will be provided by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) acting as the implementation partner.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, a memorial to the combat units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has been unveiled in Kyiv near the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People on the Alley of Defenders of Ukraine. It was opened on the eve of Border Guard Day, which is celebrated on 30 April.

The Kyiv Regional State Administration hosted a regional event entitled ‘Basic Level of Cyber Resilience: Business Continuity Management’, which brought together around 150 participants – heads of departments, representatives of district administrations and local communities.

Zhytomyr oblast

Preparations for the civilian population to participate in national resistance are continuing in communities across Zhytomyr oblast. The latest training sessions are taking place in the Berdychiv and Zviahel communities, where new groups of participants have joined the sessions. The training is being conducted by specialists from the Zhytomyr Regional Centre for Training Citizens in National Resistance. The training programme combines theoretical sessions with practical exercises to develop the skills needed to act in crisis situations.

The British city of Hereford has become Zhytomyr’s thirteenth twin town. The partnership agreement between the cities was signed by Galina Shymanska, Secretary of the Zhytomyr City Council, and Daniel Powell, Mayor of Hereford. The document stipulates that cooperation will be developed in the fields of education, culture, energy, the economy and sport.

Sumy oblast

Starosta Olena Sitalo reported that on 29 April at around 12:15pm, russian forces struck the residential sector of Velyka Chernechchyna by a UAV. Four private houses were damaged. There were no casualties.

Serhii Pasko, Head of the community, said that around midday, russian forces hit a critical infrastructure facility in Mykolaivka settlement community by a UAV. Houses were damaged, but there were no casualties.

Serhii Kryvosheienko, Head of Sumy City Military Administration, informed that on 29 April, the enemy carried out an FPV drone strike on a house in Radkivka, Stetskivka starosta district. A fire broke out at the site of the impact.

According to Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, on a road towards Seredyna-Buda community, a russian drone attacked a motorcycle on 29 April. One man sustained severe injuries, while another provided him with first aid. The 56-year-old man is under medical supervision, and his condition is critical.

The Regional Military Administration reported that during the night of 29 April, russian forces attacked civilian infrastructure in Shostka community by UAVs and a missile. Large-scale fires broke out in residential areas. A 60-year-old woman died from carbon monoxide poisoning. Two more people sought medical assistance. According to Mykola Noha, Head of the community, an infrastructure facility and a hospital were destroyed, while six houses and vehicles were damaged.

Photo: Sumy Regional Military Administration.Mayor Artem Semenikhin said that following the massive russian drone attack on Konotop on 28 April, four people were injured. One man, born in 1969, sustained moderate injuries and is currently undergoing surgery, with doctors fighting for his life.

Sumy Regional Military Administration informed as a result of russian shelling across the oblast over the past day, as of the morning of 29 April, one person was killed and eight were injured.

Over the past day, from the morning of 28 April to the morning of 29 April, russian forces carried out nearly 80 attacks on 40 settlements across 17 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Konotop and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, MLRS, FPV drones, UAVs, guided aerial bombs, and carried out a missile strike. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 18 hours and 42 minutes over the day.

Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

  • in Shostka community, private houses, multi-apartment buildings, outbuildings, civilian infrastructure facilities, and a vehicle were damaged;
  • in Shalyhyne community, a private residential house was destroyed;
  • in Esman community, private houses and civilian infrastructure facilities were destroyed;
  • in Hlukhiv community, a private house was destroyed, while another private house, non-residential buildings, and a vehicle were damaged;
  • in Svesa community, private houses and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
  • in Berezivka community, a private house was destroyed, while private houses, non-residential buildings, and a cultural centre were damaged;
  • in Yampil community, a private house was destroyed, while private houses, shops, a pharmacy, and an administrative building were damaged;
  • in Krolevets community, a multi-apartment residential building was damaged;
  • in Konotop community, vehicles, non-residential buildings, a private house, an administrative building, and a shop were damaged;
  • in Popivka community, a healthcare facility building and civilian infrastructure were damaged;
  • in Duboviazivka community, a private house and an outbuilding were damaged;
  • in Buryn community, an educational facility was damaged;
  • in Nova Slobidka community, a non-residential building was damaged;
  • in Bilopollia community, a civilian infrastructure facility and a non-residential building were damaged.

Over the past day, 12 people were evacuated from border areas by local authorities in cooperation with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and volunteer organisations.

According to the Regional Military Administration, evacuation from border settlements that are under constant enemy shelling is ongoing. Four transit centres are currently operating to accommodate evacuees, along with a hub in Shostka (up to 7 days, capacity of 311 places). Modular housing is available in Nyzhnia Syrovatka and Lypova Dolyna communities, while in Sumy, 29 out of 32 apartments have already been occupied.

Additionally, accommodation is available in 51 houses and 5 apartments (for 247 people), as well as 20 places in a dormitory.

Chernihiv oblast

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, reported that on the morning of 29 April, a tractor burned down in Semenivka community following an explosion. The incident occurred at around 11am in a field near Masheve village. A Case IH Puma 225 tractor was completely destroyed. The driver was not injured.

Also on the morning of 29 April, russian forces attacked a Volkswagen T4 vehicle in the border town of Semenivka. The vehicle caught fire as a result of the strike. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment informed that over the course of 28 April, russian forces attacked four border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk, and Koriukivka. The enemy carried out shelling using mortars (6 explosions), conducted FPV drone strikes (9 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (4 explosions). Six settlements came under enemy fire.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that on 29 April, Belgian monk-brewer Karel Stautemas handed over six specialised vehicles to Chernihiv oblast. Part of the funds for the vehicles was raised through the sale of a limited-edition series of stamps featuring works by Banksy.

Two vehicles will be transferred to rescuers in Horodnia and Kiptivka communities, two are designated for evacuation purposes, one will go to Horodnia psycho-neurological boarding school, and another will be sent to the border area. In total, Chernihiv oblast has received nine vehicles from Stautemas in 2026.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Seventeen enemy UAVs were shot down overnight over Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

In Nikopol region, russian forces attacked Nikopol, Marhanets, and Chervonohryhorivka communities by drones and artillery. Two fire trucks, two passenger cars, three private houses, an administrative building, and infrastructure were damaged.

In Synelnykove region, a fire broke out in Pokrovska community due to enemy attacks.

Overall: 87 attacks across five districts, with two people killed.

In Dnipro region, a woman was killed in Liubymivka community as a result of a UAV strike, and a 72-year-old man was injured. Seven summer houses and a vehicle were damaged. A fire also broke out in Dnipro city.

In Nikopol region, one person was killed in Pokrovske community. The enemy attacked the area by artillery and drones, targeting Nikopol, Marhanets, Myrove, Pokrovske rural, and Chervonohryhorivka communities. Fires broke out. Enterprises, a multi-apartment building, private houses, a shop, a hospital, two educational institutions, an administrative building, a garage, seven vehicles, a fire truck, and a post office were damaged.

In Synelnykove region, russian forces struck Mykolaivka community by FPV drones, damaging infrastructure.

In Kamianske region,  Kamianske town was attacked by UAVs.

In Kryvyi Rih region, FPV drone strikes targeted Zelenodolsk and Hrushivka communities, damaging a private house and infrastructure.

Vinnytsia oblast

The deaths of nine defenders from Vinnytsia oblast were reported: Fedor Hrybovskyi, Vadym Kachkar, Dmytro Kulbachuk, Vasyl Prokopchuk, Volodymyr Koval, Oleksandr Holovatiuk, Andrii Lishchenko, Oleksandr Felchyn, and Oleh Davydkevych.

Defender Veniamin Bondarchuk from Vinnytsia oblast was awarded the Order “For Courage” for his high sport achievements at the international competition Invictus Games 2023.

Kirovohrad oblast

In the settlement of Ustynivka, Kropyvnytskyi region, a support event for missing and captured servicemen was held. It was attended by relatives of the military and representatives of local authorities. Such events have been held in the community since summer 2025. According to Liubov Omelchenko, the Secretary of the Village Council, the community is aware of 35 missing and six captured defenders.

Serhii Polishchuk, Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that in Kirovohrad oblast, efforts are underway to strengthen the security of critical infrastructure through a comprehensive resilience plan, including protection of energy facilities, development of distributed generation, and decentralisation of heating systems.

Poltava oblast

In Kremenchuk, Lubny, and Myrhorod, the deaths of servicemen were reported: Serhii Kharchenko, Oleksii Mazai, and Ihor Muravii.

  • Serhii Kharchenko was killed on 17 April 2026 during a combat mission near Serhiivka, Donetsk oblast;
  • Oleksii Mazai was killed on 4 March 2025 during a combat mission as a result of russian artillery shelling near Uspenivka, Donetsk oblast;
  • Ihor Muravii was killed on 16 September 2023 in Zaporizhzhia oblast during a combat mission; his identity was confirmed through DNA testing.

In Poltava, residents bid farewell to three servicemen: junior sergeant Illia Chekhonadskyi, and soldiers Mykhailo Andriichenko and Serhii Vovk.

  • Illia Chekhonadskyi was killed on 10 February 2025 in Kursk oblast;
  • Mykhailo Andriichenko was killed on 18 December 2024 during a combat mission in Kursk oblast;
  • Serhii Vovk died on 18 April 2026 while directly participating in defensive operations in Donetsk oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

The death of serviceman Roman Ivanchenko from Zvenyhorodka region was confirmed. He was killed on 21 October 2024 during a combat mission near Selydove, Pokrovsk region, Donetsk oblast.

In Cherkasy, residents paid their last respects to fallen defenders — sergeant Oleksandr Pobitkov and soldier Viktor Savishchenko.

  • Oleksandr Pobitkov served as a senior inspector of the border guard service in an engineering support unit of the 11th Border Guard Detachment. He died on 18 April 2026 while serving in Kharkiv;
  • Viktor Savishchenko died on 15 April 2026 after sustaining combat injuries during a mission in Sumy oblast.

In Shpola community, a three-day mourning period was declared following the death of defender Vadym Tkachenko. He was killed on 27 April 2026 near Myronivka village in Shostka region, Sumy oblast. He served as a mortar driver in a mechanised infantry battalion.

In Uman region, residents welcomed back defender Ihor Tkach, who had been released from russian captivity after one and a half years. The meeting took place on 29 April in Hrodzeve village, Dmytrushky community.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The head of the Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that today, 29 April, russian forces attacked Bilenke in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Two people were injured.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday, 28 April, the occupiers carried out 833 strikes on 43 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 20 airstrikes on Malokaterynivka, Zarichne, Zelena Dibrova, Liubytske, Novooleksandrivka, Tavriiske, Orikhiv, Huliaipilske, Vozdvyzhivka, Dolynka, Rivne, Charivne, Zelene, and Mykilske. 540 UAVs of various modifications (mostly FPV) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Komyshuvakha, Novooleksandrivka, Lystivka, Bilenke, Yasna Poliana, Veselianka, Hryhorivka, Tavriiske, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, Lukianivske, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Huliaipilske, Hirke, Zelene, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Tsvitkove, Tymoshivka, and Verkhna Tersa. Six MLRS strikes targeted Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Novoandriivka, and Huliaipilske. 267 artillery strikes hit Stepnohirsk, Stepove, Prymorske, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Pryluky, Hirke, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, and Sviatopetrivka. 51 reports were received about damage to housing, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities. Three people were injured as a result of enemy attacks in Zaporizhzhia city and the Zaporizhzhia region

The General Staff reported that as of 16:00 on 29 April, the Defense Forces were repelling nine enemy attacks in the areas of Pryluky, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipole, Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne towards Huliaipole. Two clashes are still ongoing. The enemy carried out an attack near Novoandriivka towards Orikhiv. Over the past day, 28 April, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 29 russian attacks towards Huliaipole.

During the night of 29 April, the Defense Forces struck a Tor air defense system, UAV control sites, and drone unit workshops of russian forces in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that at the end of March, fighters of the special reconnaissance unit “Angels” evacuated a man from the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast. He had been helping Ukrainian defenders with important information about the russian army. The occupiers detained him in August 2022, tortured him, and sentenced him to imprisonment, where he spent more than three and a half years. He was later released but remained under constant FSB surveillance and without documents.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on 29 April, the russian army attacked energy infrastructure in Mykolaiv oblast with a Shahed drone. There were power outages in Mykolaiv region. According to the administration, as of 20:22, five people were injured as a result of the Shahed drone attack on the region.

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration also reported that yesterday, 28 April, and today, 29 April, in the morning, the enemy carried out 11 FPV drone attacks on Ochakiv community, as well as a UAV attack, preliminarily identified as a “Molniya” type, on Kutsurub community. One private house was damaged in the village of Dmytrivka.

Over the past day, three Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs and various types of decoy drones were shot down or suppressed in Mykolaiv oblast.

Odesa oblast

On the morning of 29 April, the russian army struck a vessel in Odesa oblast. According to the spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, a fire broke out as a result of the attack, but there were no injuries.

During the night of 29 April, russian forces attacked Odesa oblast. Two people were injured. As a result of a strike, a regional hospital was damaged, and the admissions department was destroyed. The therapeutic, cardiology, and surgical departments, as well as ultrasound and X-ray rooms and other facilities, sustained significant damage. A fire also broke out on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve.

Kherson oblast

Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on 29 April at approximately 15:50, three employees of a critical infrastructure enterprise were injured in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson as a result of a russian UAV attack. Two workers sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to their legs, while another suffered a blast injury and an acute stress reaction.

At around 13:15, russian forces attacked an elderly woman with a drone in Korabelnyi district of Kherson. She preliminarily sustained a blast injury.

At 10:30, russian troops struck a minibus with a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. One person was injured.

In the morning, russian forces hit one of the gas stations in Kherson with a drone. As a result of the strike, equipment at the station and a passenger car caught fire.

At approximately 08:00, russian forces attacked a taxi with a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. A 42-year-old female doctor was injured, sustaining a blast injury and a concussion. Later, another medical worker sought hospital care after being injured in a drone attack on her way to work. She sustained a blast injury and an acute stress reaction.

It is reported that russian forces also attacked Korabelnyi district of Kherson. As a result of several UAV strikes in the private sector, a 75-year-old woman was injured, and a fire broke out in one of the houses.

Yesterday at around 20:30, a child was injured in Korabelnyi district of Kherson due to a russian UAV attack. A 5-year-old boy sustained a blast injury, a concussion, and an acute stress reaction. Medical assistance was also required for a 31-year-old woman who had been injured in a drone attack in the same district the previous evening. She was diagnosed with a blast injury, a concussion, and a traumatic brain injury.

Yesterday, russian forces attacked a truck on a highway in Bilozerka community with a drone. As a result of an FPV drone strike, two men sustained blast injuries and concussions. The victims sought medical assistance today.

The Police of Kherso oblast reported that over the past day, 28 April, the russian forces attacked Kherson, Naddniprianske, Molodetske, Kizomys, Bilozerka, Nadiivka, Dariivka, Tokarivka, Molodizhne, Inhulets, Prydniprovske, Sofiivka, Tomyna Balka, Dniprovske, Rozlyv, Zorivka, Poniativka, Novodmytrivka, Antonivka, Komyshany, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Beryslav, Tiahynka, Zahradivka, Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Novooleksandrivka, Havrylivka, Kozatske, and Vesele. 10 private houses, a critical infrastructure facility, an outpatient clinic, and 10 vehicles were damaged. Seven people were injured as a result of russian shelling.

The General Staff reported that as of 16:00 on 29 April, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two enemy assaults near the Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island towards Kherson.

A fifteen-year-old girl was successfully returned from the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. According to the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, russian occupiers had arrested her mother and threatened to strip her of parental rights. The girl had to hide her ability to sing so as not to be forced to perform at propaganda events.

Volyn oblast

Volyn became the venue for an important meeting of the university community of the All-Ukrainian mental health program How are you?, initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. Representatives of 25 higher education institutions from all over the country gathered at Lutsk National Technical University. The Danish-Ukrainian Business Conference in the Agricultural Sector was held in Lviv. The event brought together Ukrainian and Danish businesses, investors, representatives of large financial institutions such as Impact Fund Denmark, EIFO and others, diplomats, experts and government representatives around practical areas of cooperation.

Rivne oblast

In Rivne, work is underway to find and prepare housing for internally displaced persons. Regional commissions have examined 67 potential objects. According to the results of the examination, 2 buildings are already ready for occupancy, another fifty can be used after renovation work. Other objects require additional examination or are recognized as unsuitable for habitation.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA reported that 60 volunteers from Khorostkov replenished the blood bank with 27 liters.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi received 4 low-floor SOR NB 12 buses from Prague. This is the 2nd transfer of transport; in 2024, thanks to Prague-6, the city already received 5 SOR NB buses, which transport Khmelnytskyi residents daily.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi Trolleybus Department received a Ford Transit vehicle and powerful generators. This will help respond faster to technical malfunctions and ensure stable movement of trolleybuses. The assistance was provided by the charitable organization CBG Charity.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Lithuania will allocate $39m for the Czech initiative to support Ukraine, $29m for PURL and additional military support.

King Charles III called for a “resolute defense” of Ukraine in the US Congress. In his speech, the monarch summarized that “unwavering determination” is needed to protect Ukraine and its “courageous people.” In his opinion, this is what will be the key to achieving a lasting and at the same time just peace.
