The invaders do not stop striking at the settlements of Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts. The settlements of Oleksandrivka, Miropilske, Klinova Novoselivka, Pokrovka, Porozok, Bila Bereza, Shalyhino, Malushine, Petrushivka, Novovasylivka came under artillery fire, and the vicinities of Uhroids, Miropilske, Krasnopillia, Petrushivka and Prokhody came under enemy air strikes.
Towards Kharkiv, one firefight took place in the area of Vovchansk.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian troops three times in the vicinity of Zahryzove and towards Bohuslavka, and one firefight is ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions 50 times in the vicinity of Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Novosergiivka, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Kotliarivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka and towards Kalynove, 12 attacks are ongoing.
Towards Novopavlivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, and Dniproenergia, four combat engagements are ongoing.
Towards Huliaipole, the enemy conducted four assault operations in the vicinity of Pryvilne. Novopil suffered an airstrike.
Towards Orikhiv, the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped five enemy attacks. The enemy tried to advance towards Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky and north of Nesterianka. Kamianske and Novoandriivka came under air strikes.
Two firefights with the enemy took place towards Kherson.
Towards Kursk, there were 9 combat engagements, three of them are still ongoing. In addition, the enemy carried out 20 airstrikes, dropped 32 unmanned aerial vehicles and fired 199 artillery shells, including 11 from multiple launch rocket systems.
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, reports that the bodies of another 909 fallen Ukrainian defenders have been returned. The transfer of the bodies of fallen soldiers is carried out in accordance with Geneva Conventions.
Iryna Mudra, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, informs that since the beginning of russia’s military aggression in 2014, the total damage caused to Ukraine could reach one trillion dollars. She also added that due to russia’s daily strikes on Ukrainian territory, the bag of losses continues to grow.

Towards Kharkiv, russians attacked once near Vovchansk.
Towards Kupiansk, the occupiers attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops three times near Zahryzove and towards Bohuslavka, and the battle is ongoing.
The day before, towards Kharkiv, the enemy tried to break through the defensive lines of Ukrainian defenders six times towards Vovchansk and Fiholivka.
Towards Kupiansk, there were 26 attacks yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy’s assault near Stepova Novoselivka, Zahryzove and in the vicinity of Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Nova Kruhliakivka and Bohuslavka.
Shelling
The enemy shelled Kupiansk with artillery. As a result of the attack, a private house, a garage and outbuildings over an area of 200 m² caught fire. Utilities are eliminating the consequences.

A residential building in Kupiansk was damaged as a result of morning shelling by a Molniya UAV. A 58-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction. An outbuilding was also damaged as a result of an MLRS strike. A 38-year-old man was wounded.
The day before, at 23:00, the enemy attacked Bohodukhiv region, Zolochiv village, russian military conducted 4 UAV strikes on the village. The first hit was near a private house, which was destroyed. 10 private houses, outbuildings and power grids were partially damaged. Two strikes on the territory of Zolochiv hospital. The shell hit the car park next to the administrative building and the third floor of the hospital. At the time of the shelling, 17 people were in the hospital shelter. The fourth hit the ground.

At 20:40, the enemy attacked Chuhuiv region, Buhaivka village. As a result of the shelling (preliminary by a Shahed UAV), a house on the area of 300 sq.m. was burning.

At 14:06, the enemy attacked Kharkiv region, the village of Slatyne. A hit was probably by a Molniya UAV on the ground on the territory of a private household.
At 13:59, the enemy attacked Bohodukhiv region, Svitlychne village. As a result of shelling by an FPV drone, a car was on fire. Two men aged 39 and 58 were injured. They were hospitalised.

Aliona, founder of the NGO Lesya’s Team of Animal Volunteers, says that about a hundred cats and fifty dogs were taken out of Kostiantynivka, said . Their animal shelter has moved from Donetsk oblast to Balakliia in Kharkiv oblast.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The General Staff reports that the russian army more than doubled the number of attacks towards Lyman yesterday. The occupiers stormed Ukrainian positions near Nadiia, Kolodiazi, Myrne, Yampolivka 32 times and attacked near Novoserhiivka, Nove, Olhivka, Dronivka and Hryhorivka. The day before, there were 14 attacks.
Most attempts by the russian army to advance deeper into Ukrainian positions were recorded towards Pokrovsk. Defence forces repelled 68 attacks, including near Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropol, Vodiane, Yelizavetivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, and towards Malynivka and Novooleksandrivka.
Andrii Otchenash, a UAV crew Commander of the Rubizh brigade, says that russian occupiers conducted a massive assault in the Liman-Bakhmut direction using a large number of motorcycles. About fifty occupants were killed and wounded during the repulse.
Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman for the Khortytsia military unit, says that the russian army is increasing the intensity of attacks towards Pokrovsk to the level of January 2025. russian troops have also changed the vector of attacks and are not trying to bypass the town from the west.
Shelling
Police recorded 3,619 hostile attacks along the frontline and in the residential sector. The occupation forces fired at 9 settlements: the cities of Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, Toretsk, Novoekonomichne, Zoria, Illinivka, Malynivka, and Yarova. 45 civilian objects were destroyed, including 38 residential buildings.

russians attacked Rodynske with artillery and an FPV drone, killing a civilian and injuring two others. An apartment block and a private house were damaged, as well as three civilian cars.
One person was wounded in Novoekonomichne, and a private house was damaged.
One apartment building was damaged in Pokrovsk, and three apartment buildings were damaged in Myrnohrad.
russia conducted a combined attack on Malynivka in Kramatorsk region with a FAB-250 bomb and an FPV drone. Four private houses, an educational institution, an agricultural building, 2 cars, and a power line were damaged.
The enemy dropped 7 FAB-250 bombs on the Illinivka community. Four bombs hit Zoria, damaging 5 apartment blocks and 22 private houses. The rest of the strikes fell on the outskirts of Illinivka, causing no damage.
In addition, information has been established about three wounded civilians in Stara Mykolayivka of Illinivka community who suffered on 26 March as a result of a FAB-250 bomb. Seven private houses were damaged.
Other
According to Mariupol City Council, social housing is planned to be built for IDPs from Mariupol. At the beginning of the project, it is planned to build 5 houses for 350 families. The project will be implemented in the town of Vasylkiv, Kyiv oblast.
Luhansk oblast
According to the RMA, in March, russians have been increasingly using more than 300 drones per day in this section of the frontline. Thus, 318 enemy UAVs attempted to carry out combat missions yesterday. The invaders fired 20 times from artillery systems. The russian army’s ground pressure continues towards Lyman and Siversk. Enemy attacks were repelled in the vicinity of Nadiia and Bilohorivka.
Since 2022, representatives of the occupation administration of the so-called lpr have repeatedly announced their intention to start construction of six solid waste landfills. However, funding from the state budget of the russian federation was cancelled for five of these facilities.
As for the landfill planned for Rodakove near Luhansk, budget requests to the federal authorities of the russian federation are still pending. Subject to a positive decision, construction is expected to start in 2026, with an estimated completion period of about two years. Once commissioned, the landfill will be used to accumulate waste, including scrap metal, coming from neighbouring regions of the russian federation.
In addition, after a long information lull, russian occupation structures launched an information campaign about the possible restoration of Lysychansk Oil Refinery. The refinery’s industrial facilities have suffered significant damage as a result of russian aggression. Given the refinery’s location near the contact line, the occupiers are unable to assess the extent of the damage.
Nevertheless, the russian administration has stated its intention to ‘consider attracting investors to restore the enterprise’ if the security situation improves. At the same time, residents of Lysychansk are sceptical about such statements, given their previous experience: in particular, the launch of the Azot plant in Siverskodonetsk has been announced since the summer of 2022, but even preparatory work has not yet begun on its territory.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
KCMA said that an air alert was declared twice in the capital. On the night of 28 March, 9 enemy UAVs were spotted in the vicinity of the capital. 6 of them were destroyed by air defence systems, while the rest were lost or left the airspace.
The SES reported that local residents continue to find explosive devices in Kyiv and the region. One of them – a Geranium-2 UAV – was found by local residents in Vyshgorod region. The other, an artillery shell from the Second World War, was discovered by a farmer during field work in the village of Karpylivka.
A delegation headed by Sophie Lode Jacobsen, Minister of the Interior and Health of Denmark, visited Kyiv Oblast Children’s Hospital. The cooperation between the Hospital and the Danish Maria Elisabeth Clinic (Rigshospitalet) has been going on since September 2023. Since then, the hospitals have been exchanging experience and working together to introduce advanced methods of treating children.
Brovary and Derhachi communities signed a memorandum as part of the national project ‘Side by Side: Cohesive Communities’. The cooperation is aimed at sharing experience and supporting restoration of the territories.
The installation of a solar power plant at a well was completed in Makariv. The project was implemented with the assistance of the German twin city of Wandlitz as part of the community’s energy independence programme.
The Caravan Gala checkpoint memorial complex dedicated to the defence of Irpin from russian troops was opened in Irpin. 28 March marked three years since Irpin was liberated from russian occupation. Several installations were set at the memorial complex, including a metal stele ‘Shot Irpin’ and shot cars as a symbol of what Irpin residents had to endure during the occupation and in memory of those who died from russian military bullets while trying to evacuate the city.
Zhytomyr oblast
The RMA says that about 20,000 people have already been trained as part of the national resistance programme in Zhytomyr oblast.
As part of the Defence of Ukraine curriculum, 63 specialised classrooms with necessary equipment, including weapon models, FPV drones, first aid equipment, mine safety materials and other applications, have been set up in the region’s educational institutions. These classes have already trained 19,000 children from various educational institutions.
Last year, 59 events were held to prepare citizens for defence. In total, more than 1,600 people aged 18 to 65 took part in the training. Participants acquired key skills, including first aid, tactical, firearms and engineering training, military topography, communications, and national and patriotic education.
On 27 March, a working meeting was held in Berdychiv with representatives of Estonia and Ireland, who are ready to share their experience and support Zhytomyr oblast in key areas. The meeting focused on strategic areas of regional development, community support and the implementation of initiatives that will help improve the welfare of the population.
Sumy oblast
Ivan Shevtsov, Assistant to Head of the 15th Mobile Border Detachment ‘Steel Border’ reported that russian army continues to consistently attack Sumy border using aviation and artillery, actively deploying FPV-drones via fibre optics. The most intense activity is near russia’s Kursk oblast. Over the past month, russian forces have increased attempts to infiltrate Sumy oblast in small groups, typically consisting of 2 to 10 servicemen, who are more active closer to Kharkiv oblast.
Sumy Police informed that the occupiers once again struck the border Krasnopillia community by guided aerial bombs. The enemy damaged civilian infrastructure and the property of a local enterprise, including destroyed garages, utility rooms, an administrative building, and vehicles.

According to the State Enterprise ‘Forests of Ukraine’ on March 28, as a result of an attack by two Shahed strike drones on 27 March, the Banytske forestry suffered damage. The drones hit the area near the forestry, causing destruction. The explosions shattered windows, damaged glass, and broke the gables of the building.
On 27 March, at approximately 11pm, russian drones struck a religious institution in Banychi village within Hlukhiv community, which had served local residents for over 18 years. As a result of the attack, the House of Prayer was completely destroyed. Nearby apartment buildings, private homes, and the administrative premises of the forestry also sustained damage.


As a result of shelling in Yunakivka community, two private households were damaged. russian forces shelled the community using artillery and mortars, and launched three GABs.
During the night and morning, russian forces carried out 66 shellings of border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast. There were 140 explosions. The shelling attacks affected Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Hlukhiv, and Esman communities.
On the night of 28 March, Ukrainian air defenders shot down 10 enemy Shaheds over the skies of Sumy oblast. Since the beginning of the year, regional air defence units have neutralised 802 russian drones.
Over the past day, 27 March, russian forces carried out 82 shelling attacks in Sumy oblast, with a total of 276 strikes recorded. The enemy used mortars (39 explosions), MLRS (100 explosions), artillery (75 explosions), UAV attacks (1 explosion), FPV-drones (15 explosions), launched GABs (29 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (20 explosions). Eleven communities came under enemy fire: Sumy, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Putyvl, Nova Slobidka, Esman, Shalyhyne, and Seredyna-Buda.
According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, as a result of a UAV strike on 27 March in Sumy community, four private households and two vehicles were damaged.

Vasyl Lavrynenko, Deputy Head of Krasnopillia community said that only 4% of the population remains in Krasnopillia community. The intensity of shelling and the amount of damage have significantly increased. Local authorities are present on-site.
Sumy Police reported that police bomb disposal experts destroyed a cluster munition from the Uragan MLRS. The dangerous ammunition had remained in the area since spring 2022 and was discovered during fieldwork. The shell was neutralised at the site of its discovery.
Volodymyr Artyukh, Head of the Regional Military Administration, announced that forty-four defenders from Sumy oblast were posthumously awarded high state honours. Medals and orders were presented to the families of the fallen servicemen.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that during the day on 27 March, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (14 explosions), FPV-drone strikes (21 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (9 explosions). Ten villages came under enemy fire.
According to Denys Rosovskyi, Head of the community, at Sukhopolovia Lyceum in Chernihiv oblast, a radiation shelter has been transformed into an educational space spanning over 500 square metres. It now includes a digital hub, seven classrooms, and four shared-use rooms. The project cost over UAH 10.5m, funded by donors from the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE project, state subsidies, and the community’s own resources.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that from evening until night, the occupiers shelled Nikopol region with artillery, launched drones and Grad multiple rocket launchers. The region centre, Marhanets and Pokrovsk communities came under fire. An outbuilding was damaged. The enemy also attacked the Vasylkivka community of Synelnykove region with drones. An agricultural enterprise was damaged.
During the day, the occupiers attacked Nikopol region about two dozen times. They used artillery and drones. They targeted Nikopol itself, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovske communities. Two men, aged 48 and 46, were injured. An agricultural enterprise, multi-storey buildings, a tyre service, 2 private houses and 6 outbuildings were damaged. Zelenodolsk community of Kryvyi Rih region was also attacked by a UAV.
Vinnytsia oblast
Ukraine’s defender Volodymyr Boyko has said goodbye in Vinnytsia. He came to the defence of the country in 2023, served as a sniper in an airborne assault brigade and performed combat missions in the eastern part of the country. He was killed on 24 March in Kursk oblast. He was 50 years old.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, said that a man who sustained almost 90 per cent of his burns as a result of an enemy attack on Kropyvnytskyi died in hospital. Doctors had been fighting for him all these days, but his injuries were incompatible with life.
Poltava oblast
Volodymyr Kohut, Head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday evening, the enemy launched a massive UAV attack on civilian targets in industrial areas in Poltava community. Some of the targets were hit by air defence forces and equipment. As a result of hits and falling debris at 6 different locations, warehouses, an administrative building and a transformer at one of the enterprises were damaged. The attack caused fires over a total area of 2,500 square metres.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that at night in Cherkasy oblast, defenders shot down 6 russian UAVs.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, the occupiers launched 400 attacks on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces carried out nine airstrikes on Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Kamianske, Lobkove, and Novoandriivka. 253 UAVs of various modifications attacked Zaporizhzhia, Kamianske, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. 13 MLRS attacks targeted Novoiakovlivka, Kamianske, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodarivka. Additionally, 125 artillery strikes were carried out on Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Seven reports were received regarding damage to apartments, private houses, and infrastructure. A young man was injured during a nighttime enemy attack on the regional center.
It is reported that the enemy conducted four assault actions in the area of Pryvilne towards Huliaipole. The Defense Forces repelled five enemy attacks towards Orikhiv. The enemy attempted to advance toward the settlements of Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, and north of Nesterianka.
Mykolaiv oblast
On 27 March, at 10:10 am, the enemy attacked Ochakiv community with an FPV drone. As a result of the shelling, a power line was damaged in the city of Ochakiv. The power supply was restored. Also, on 27 March at 1:17 pm, the enemy carried out an artillery strike on Kutsurub community. There were no casualties.
Last night, on 27 March, the enemy attacked the city of Voznesensk with “Shahed 131/136” UAVs. The attack caused a fire in a warehouse at an agro-industrial facility. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. There were no casualties.
Police explosive technicians destroyed the warhead of a russian attack drone in Mykolaiv oblast. The drone was shot down by air defense forces. According to the National Police in Mykolaiv oblast, residents of the Bashtanka region discovered the remains of the downed drone in a field.
Odesa oblast
The enemy once again attacked Odesa region with strike drones. This caused fires in garage facilities and an outbuilding, while houses and an educational institution were also damaged. One person was injured.
As of 6:00 am on 27 March, one enemy carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles was in the Black Sea, with a total salvo capacity of up to 4 missiles. There were four enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 26 missiles.
Over the past day, 12 vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interests, while 8 more ships entered the Sea of Azov.
Memorial plaques were unveiled in honor of two fallen defenders in a lyceum in Odesa oblast. The plaques were placed on the walls of the Economic and Legal Lyceum No. 1 in Chornomorsk, commemorating Serhii Hryshchuk and Volodymyr Hubanov, both of whom were graduates of the institution.
Kherson oblast
At approximately 14:40, the russians attacked an educational institution in Bilozerka with a strike drone. The attack caused damage to the building, breaking windows and doors. Later, as a result of the shelling of the settlement, a 48-year-old man was injured, suffering an explosive injury, a concussion, and a rib fracture.
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that the russians attacked emergency service vehicles in Novoraisk with a drone. The UAV attack damaged an ambulance as well as a firefighter vehicle.
At approximately 12:30, the russian army attacked Bilozerka. A 37-year-old man suffered an explosive injury, a concussion, and a traumatic brain injury. Later, two more people sought medical attention. An 82-year-old woman was hospitalized with an explosive injury, a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, and shrapnel wounds to her leg and arm. Another victim, a 49-year-old man, received medical assistance and was discharged for outpatient treatment. He suffered an explosive injury, a concussion, a traumatic brain injury, and shrapnel wounds to his back and shin.
Today, russian troops attacked a resident of Antonivka with a drone. A 75-year-old man suffered an explosive injury and had both hands amputated. He was taken to the hospital unconscious and in critical condition. Doctors are fighting for his life.
At approximately five in the morning, the russians struck Novoraisk in Beryslav region with multiple launch rocket systems. Around ten hits were recorded, damaging houses, outbuildings, and civilian vehicles. The shelling also caused fires. A 40-year-old man who was in his yard suffered an explosive injury and a concussion.
An elderly man sought medical attention after being injured in a russian shelling of Kherson on the night of 25 March. The 76-year-old Kherson resident was diagnosed with an explosive injury and a mild traumatic brain injury.
Yesterdaday, the enemy attacked Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Naddniprianske, Shyroka Balka, Veletenske, Stanislav, Poniativka, Beryslav, Novoraisk, Novovorontsovka, Havrylivka, Novokairy, Dudchany, Novoberyslav, Zolota Balka, Shliakhove, Vesele, Zmiivka, Dniprovske, Ivanivka, Inhulets, Kizomys, Kostyrka, Mykolaivka, Milove, Mykhailivka, Monastyrske, Nezlamne, Novotiahynka, Olhivka, Osokorivka, Tokarivka, Ukrainka, Chervonyi Maiak, and the city of Kherson. The attacks damaged five apartment buildings, nine private houses, a warehouse, a gas station, an ambulance, and private vehicles. Three people were killed, and 12 others were injured due to russian aggression.

As of 16:00 on 28 March, two engagements with the enemy took place in the Prydniprovske sector. Over the past day, enemy losses amounted to 149 personnel, one tank, 20 artillery systems, 44 units of automotive and armored vehicles, nine UAVs of the “Supercam,” “Zala,” and “Orlan” types, two ATVs, 29 motorcycles, two boats, three generators, three communication antennas, five “Starlink” antennas, eight UAV control antennas, two ammunition storage sites, and two fuel storage sites. 78 shelters/dugouts and 3 observation posts were destroyed.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
A delegation from the European Union Delegation to Ukraine visited the Carpathian region. They discussed the establishment of partnership relations and potential areas of cooperation.
Lviv oblast
The RMA held a meeting with Cyriac Massue, representative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK). They discussed important issues related to the implementation of projects for the just transformation of coal communities.
The About Veterans Together with Veterans All-Ukrainian forum was held in Lviv. The forum discussed programs to support veterans in Lviv oblast.
Rivne oblast
In Rivne oblast, 8 social institutions will receive assistance from the UN World Food Program (WFP). The food packages will contain cereals, flour, oil, sugar and pasta. Over 1,500 people live in these institutions, including 540 IDPs.
Since Monday, 73 children from frontline oblasts have been resting in Rivne oblast. The children’s trip took place within the framework of the Side-by-Side: United Communities project initiated by the President.
Ternopil oblast
The military of Ternopil community will receive a one-time cash assistance for treatment and rehabilitation of UAH 15,000. In 2024, 295 soldiers received such assistance.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
The Khmelnytskyi community has donated property worth almost UAH 18 million to the military. These include quadcopters, FPV drones, airplanes, electronic warfare equipment, etc.
Chernivtsi oblast
Mamaievsk community signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Khmelivsk community, Sumy oblast. The memorandum defines key areas of interaction and joint implementation of projects aimed at the development of both territorial communities.
The RMA held a meeting dedicated to supporting the children of fallen Ukrainian soldiers. The meeting presented the To the Children of Our Defenders charitable platform. The key goal of the initiative is to support children who lost their parents as a result of the war.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Norway will allocate $95m to support Ukraine’s energy sector for gas imports.
Sweden will provide over €3.6m to support the drone coalition and demining for Ukraine.
The EU imposed sanctions against 25 officials and 7 organizations in belarus. Sanctions include freezing the assets of the individuals and organizations, banning financial transactions and restricting entry into the EU. In total, 310 individuals and 46 legal entities in belarus are already under EU sanctions.
As part of the initiative of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA, the Ukrainian delegation continued its advocacy visit to the United Kingdom. Meetings were held in London with representatives of the government, think tanks, and international experts.
