As of 16:00, on the South-Slobozhansky direction the Russians twice attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the area of Vovchansk and Dovhenke; one combat clash is ongoing. This was reported by the General Staff.

No offensive actions by the Russians were recorded on the Kupiansk direction since the start of the day.

On the Lyman direction, in particular toward Druzhliubivka, the Russian army attacked today.

During the past day 160 combat engagements were recorded.

On the South-Slobozhansky direction the enemy twice stormed the positions of our units near the settlement of Vovchansk.

On the Kupiansk direction the occupiers carried out six attacks yesterday. Our defenders repelled enemy assault actions near Kotliarivka, Lozova and in the direction of Pishchane and Kolisnykivka.

Russian troops are blocked on the northwestern outskirts of Kupiansk, however their sabotage-and-reconnaissance groups (DRG) are in the city, where they try to hide and disguise themselves. The defense forces are searching for the occupiers and are combing the city block by block, said Yurii Fedorenko, commander of the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment “Achilles,” on the Suspilne broadcast on 25 September.

The defense forces know of cases when Russian special forces executed their comrades who refused to go through a gas pipeline to Kupiansk.

When Russian servicemen, as part of DRG, penetrate Kupiansk they change into civilian clothes or into the camouflage of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Fedorenko said.

At 16:25 four Russian KABs struck the outskirts of the village of Zolochiv. A 59-year-old woman lost her left arm above the elbow as a result of the airstrikes, the head of the city military administration, Viktor Kovalenko, reported. She was hospitalized in Kharkiv.

A “Gerbera” drone was found in the Osnovianskyi district of Kharkiv, said the director of the city Department of Emergency Situations, Bohdan Hladkykh. Valeria Chyrina, a prosecutor from the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, said that residents discovered the unmanned aerial vehicle without a warhead on the morning of 25 September near a two-storey residential building. Such drones are most often used by Russian forces as “decoy targets” that imitate combat “Shaheds” and distract and overload Ukrainian air defenses.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the number of Russian assaults has decreased by one-third in the area of responsibility of the 46th Brigade over the past few weeks. However, Russian forces have not reduced their use of aviation and drones, said Serhii Kondratiuk, communications officer of the 46th Brigade.

All key road arteries in Donetsk region will be covered with anti-drone nets, announced Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko following a working trip to Donetsk region.

Civilians in frontline settlements of the Lyman community are severely complicating the work of Ukrainian troops. Russian occupiers, in their internal communications, say they will “eliminate” everyone except children, as happened in Shandryholove, where they shot the parents and abducted a girl.

In Sloviansk, two modular water purification systems have been installed, where people can collect free water. Each unit can purify three cubic meters of water per hour, reported Military Administration head Liakh.

Despite shelling and the threat of the frontline approaching, the Sviati Hory National Park in Donetsk region continues operating — extinguishing fires, tending trees, including 700-year-old oaks, and hoping to restore lost forest. In September 2025, more than ten employees resigned due to the advancing frontline. Last year’s forest fires caused damages worth hundreds of billions of hryvnias.

In the Starokrymske reservoir, which supplies water to temporarily occupied Mariupol, water reserves are rapidly decreasing. Over the summer the reservoir lost 12% of its capacity and now holds only 17.5% of water. The occupation authorities are “hoping” for rain, reported Mariupol City Council.

Luhansk oblast

It should be noted that the enemy is actively employing various types of drones.

The so-called “people’s council of the LNR” made amendments to its fabricated “regional law” regulating the use of residential premises deemed ownerless and transferred to municipal ownership. From now on, among the priority categories eligible to receive someone else’s apartment are federal officials — individuals who betrayed Ukraine and agreed to work for the occupiers.

Fifteen Russian propagandists were brought to temporarily occupied Luhansk to conduct 120 lectures for youth and teachers in the region.
