Since the start of the day, the aggressor has attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 65 times.
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today in the Sumy region, the settlements of Sopych, Novovasylivka, Tovstodubove, Volfyne, Rohizne, Buniakine, Ulanove, Malushyne, and Zarichne were affected; in the Chernihiv region – Klyusy and Zarichchia.
On the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, there were two combat engagements. The enemy carried out 49 strikes on settlements and our troops’ positions, one of them using multiple launch rocket systems.
On the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy stormed our units’ positions four times in the areas of Lyman, Okhrimivka, and Kolodiazne. Two engagements are still ongoing.
On the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked three times today in the areas of Kivsharivka, Podoly, and Borivska Andriivka. One engagement is ongoing.
On the Lyman direction, the enemy initiated seven engagements in the areas of Novoselivka, Drobysheve, Stavky, Yampil, and Ozerne; two of them are still ongoing.
On the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled four attempts by the enemy to advance in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakitne, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
On the Kramatorsk direction, no active offensive actions were recorded since the beginning of the day.
On the Kostiantynivka direction, our defenders stopped six attacks near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, and Illinivka.
On the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers attempted 25 times to push our troops from their positions in the areas of Vilne, Kutuzivka, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Novooleksandrivka, Bilytske, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Udachne, and Novopavlivka.
On the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy did not conduct active operations.
On the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled ten enemy attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Nova Zaporizhzhia, Zlahoda, Rybne, Pryluky, Zaliznycne, Olenokostiantynivka, and Charnivne. One engagement is still ongoing.
On the Orikhiv direction, the enemy attempted twice to advance in the areas of Bilohiria and Shcherbaky. One engagement is currently ongoing.
On the Prydniprovske direction, our defenders stopped an enemy attempt to advance toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
On other directions, there are currently no significant changes in the situation. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.
Ukrainian forces are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
The village of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region has become one of the longest-held defensive positions. Despite constant enemy attacks, Ukrainian troops have continuously held the sector for over 1,500 days. For their contribution to holding the defense area and daily repelling Russian assaults near the village, the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade was included in the National Book of Records of Ukraine.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
During the day, at least 12 Russian attacks were recorded in the Kharkiv region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00. In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched eight assaults on Ukrainian positions near Lyman, Hraniv, Starytsia, Hrafske, Radkivka, Okhrimivka, and Kolodiazne. One engagement was still ongoing. In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attacked four times near Kivsharivka, Novoosynove, Podoly, and Borivska Andriivka; one combat engagement was also continuing.
Over the past 24 hours, 233 combat engagements were recorded along the frontline, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces carried out seven attacks against Ukrainian Defense Forces positions near Fyholivka, Veterynarne, Starytsia, and toward Okhrimivka and Ternova. In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attempts to advance near Novoosynove.
Shelling and Attacks
In Kozacha Lopan, two men were injured when an FPV drone struck a motorcycle, according to Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of the Derhachi Military Administration. The victims were a 44-year-old driver and a 32-year-old passenger. The driver sustained multiple injuries and a closed traumatic brain injury and was hospitalized.
In Derhachi, Russian forces struck a civilian enterprise. A 68-year-old man was killed, and 23 people were injured, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. Twenty-one victims suffered blast injuries, while two experienced acute stress reactions. Ten of the injured were undergoing surgery in medical facilities. Warehouse buildings, trucks, and passenger vehicles were damaged. Emergency responders extinguished a fire at the attack site.
Over the past 24 hours, enemy strikes targeted the city of Kharkiv and 21 settlements across the region, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration (RMA). Eighteen civilians were injured, including a 5-year-old girl. In Bohodukhiv, 17 people sustained injuries or suffered acute stress reactions, while in Petrivka, Shevchenkove community, a 44-year-old man was injured.
Russian forces attacked Kyivskyi District of Kharkiv with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). During the day, the Russian army deployed 10 Geran-2 UAVs, 19 Molniya UAVs, six FPV drones, and 42 drones of unidentified type against the Kharkiv region.
Residential buildings, utility structures, power lines, a tractor, a bus, vehicles, warehouses, administrative buildings, a community club, a grain elevator, hangars containing grain and agricultural machinery, and other civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv districts.
Over the past week, 89 settlements in the Kharkiv region, including the city of Kharkiv, came under enemy attack, according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. Sixty people were injured, including three children, and 10 people were killed. One additional person was injured by the explosion of an unidentified device.
During the week, Russian forces used two missiles, two multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) strikes, four guided aerial bombs (KABs), 37 Geran-2 UAVs, 63 Molniya UAVs, five Lancet loitering munitions, 78 FPV drones, and 164 unmanned aerial vehicles of unidentified type against the Kharkiv region.

The civilian infrastructure of Bohodukhiv District suffered the most extensive damage: five apartment buildings and 44 private houses were damaged, along with a medical facility, a boarding institution, power lines, a production workshop, a pig farm, two community cultural centers, a dormitory, six administrative buildings, a shop, a café, warehouse facilities, hangars, utility buildings, vehicles, tractors, a bus, and garages. Significant damage was also recorded in Izium District and in the city of Kharkiv.
Over the past week, units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) extinguished 40 fires caused by Russian shelling. During the same period, explosive ordnance disposal teams neutralized 476 explosive hazards.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
Ukrainian forces struck a field artillery ammunition depot of the Russian army in the area of Kremenivka, a logistics supply depot near Dokuchaievsk, and a communications hub of a Russian unit in Ivanivka, Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Pilots of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” are striking Russian logistics near Mariupol and close to the border with Russia. Under fire are key transport routes Mariupol–Taganrog and Mariupol–Volnovakha, which the Russian army uses to supply equipment and personnel.
On the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces intercepted and destroyed a Russian 2S1 “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery system before it reached firing positions. The target was detected by aerial reconnaissance, after which drone operators carried out a strike.
On the same axis, Russian forces increased the number of attacks to eight over the past day, compared to three the previous day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The attackers advanced toward Zakitne, Kryva Luka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Riznykivka.
The highest number of assaults was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction — 38 attacks. Another 15 assaults were repelled by Ukrainian forces in the Kostiantynivka direction.
Shelling
On 25 May, Russian forces repeatedly struck Kramatorsk with aerial bombs. At 17:52, they dropped two FAB-250 bombs with UMPK guidance kits on the city center, hitting areas near apartment buildings. As of 21:30, the number of injured increased to 12 people, including an 8-year-old boy, according to Donetsk Regional Military Administration head Vadym Filashkin.
Rescue services extinguished two fire outbreaks: vehicles and apartments in a residential building burned. In one apartment, people were unable to exit due to a deformed door caused by the blast.

On the morning of 25 May, Russian forces shelled Kramatorsk and Yasnohirka.
In Yasnohirka, a FAB-250 aerial bomb with a UMPK guidance kit struck a private house, killing a 64-year-old man and his 38-year-old daughter-in-law. Three women aged 46, 54, and 56 were injured. A boy who was in the house with his family survived.
Rescuers recovered the bodies of the deceased from under the rubble and cleared around two tons of destroyed structures. Seven private houses and an outpatient clinic were damaged; the three injured women are medical workers at that facility.

Around 05:00, Russian forces struck Kramatorsk with five FAB-250 bombs equipped with UMPK guidance kits.
Three people were injured: two women aged 76 and a 69-year-old man.
The attack damaged 13 apartment buildings, five civilian vehicles, a school, a post office, and an administrative building. The building housing branch No. 11 of Nova Poshta was also damaged, causing a fire. Employees were not injured, but about 20% of parcels remain under the rubble.

Around 02:00 on 25 May, Kramatorsk came under three additional strikes. At least three private houses were damaged.

On 24 May, police recorded 1,307 Russian attacks along the frontline and on residential areas of Donetsk region. Six settlements came under fire: Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, Oleksandrivka, and Maiaky. A total of 34 civilian facilities were damaged, including 23 residential buildings.
Druzhkivka was attacked with a KAB-250 guided bomb and six FPV drones. A 70-year-old woman was killed, and 13 civilians were injured. At 18:26, Russia dropped a guided bomb on a multi-storey residential building in the city center while people were collecting water at a public tap. Among the injured were two men aged 45 and 61 and four women aged 40, 44, 69, and 73; one of the victims lost a leg.
In Maiaky, an FPV drone strike injured one person and damaged a vehicle.
Kramatorsk endured nine attacks over the day: two apartment buildings, a market, a cultural center, and an enterprise were damaged.
In Sloviansk, an apartment building and four civilian vehicles were damaged. In Mykolaivka, seven apartment buildings, ten private houses, and an educational institution were damaged. In Oleksandrivka, a hospital was damaged.
Luhansk oblast
In Luhansk region, Russian forces carried out combat tasks using 11 drones over the past day, according to Oleksii Kharchenko, Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration. The occupiers also conducted five strikes with tube artillery and three mortar attacks. On the Lyman direction, they launched 11 assaults, attempting to advance near five settlements.
The target audience of the Russian military-sports center “Voïn” in occupied Luhansk includes children and young people up to 35 years old. They are trained in UAV operation, engineering, firearms, and tactical skills, as well as basics of national security. Each training direction has an approved program, with the shortest lasting 362 hours, while others are even longer.
In Sievierodonetsk, the occupiers have allowed the issuance of only old-style international passports, which are valid for five years and do not allow travel to a number of countries. Applications are accepted only once a week, and out of a long queue, only five to six people can be processed.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Damage to civilian and administrative infrastructure caused by the russian large-scale attack on 24 May has been recorded at 49 locations across the capital. In total, around 300 buildings were damaged in Kyiv. The majority of these were residential buildings – on 24 May, there were reports of varying degrees of damage to almost 150 private and multi-storey buildings.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where a five-storey block’s entrance hall was destroyed by a direct hit, rescue workers recovered the bodies of two women killed in the attack. Emergency repair work has been completed. In total, 92 people were injured in the city, including three minors. 13 more people were rescued. As of this morning, 21 people have been admitted to hospital, with the rest receiving outpatient care.
According to the State Emergency Service, a total of 871 rescue workers and 201 units of fire and rescue equipment were deployed to deal with the aftermath of the russian attack. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service and the National Police provided support to 320 people who survived this terrible night.

On 24 May 2026, as a result of a large-scale Russian attack on the territory of Kyiv Oblast, two people were killed. Eleven people were injured, including one child. The child is less than one year old, while the oldest injured person is 99.
In total, 110 objects were damaged, including 49 private houses, 9 apartment buildings, 40 vehicles, warehouse and logistics facilities, an industrial enterprise, as well as educational, cultural, and medical institutions, according to the head of the regional military administration, Mykola Kalashnyk.
The most severe damage was recorded in Bucha, Fastiv, and Vyshhorod districts. In Fastiv district, private houses, apartment buildings, an outpatient clinic, a cultural facility, and vehicles were damaged. Six people were injured.
In Bucha district, residential buildings, warehouses, logistics facilities, and transport were damaged. One person was killed and another injured.
In Obukhiv district, one person was killed and two were injured, including a child. Residential buildings were damaged.
Damage from the attacks was also recorded in Bila Tserkva, Brovary, and Boryspil districts.
In Kyiv Oblast, emergency services extinguished a large-scale fire covering 10,000 square meters caused by the Russian shelling on 24 May, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES). Due to the severity of the fire, firefighting robots and two SES helicopters were deployed. In total, units operated at 25 locations.

In Kyiv, the Lukianivska metro station has resumed operations. The entrance and exit on the side of the “Kvadrat” shopping and entertainment center remain temporarily closed.
Russia must be held accountable for cultural genocide. This is stated in a comment by the Ukrainian National Commission for UNESCO, published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Following the latest shelling, damage was recorded at the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Ukrainian House, Kyiv Opera, the National Philharmonic, libraries, universities, and other cultural and educational institutions. As of 24 May, Russia has destroyed or damaged 1,783 cultural heritage sites and 2,540 cultural infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
At the Chernobyl Museum, Russian shelling on 24 May destroyed unique artifacts and testimonies of the 20th-century nuclear disaster. About 40% of the museum’s exhibits have been irreversibly lost, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The museum had been updated just a month earlier for the 40th anniversary of the tragedy. Rescuers and museum staff immediately began evacuating exhibits after the strike.
As a result of the combined Russian attack on the night of 24 May, a direct missile strike destroyed one of the units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (State Emergency Service of Ukraine) in Kyiv region. About 30 rescuers were inside the building, but they managed to take shelter in time, so no casualties were reported.
According to the Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Andrii Danyk, immediately after the explosion, half of the personnel began extinguishing the fire in their own facility, while the other half continued responding to emergency calls and coordinating assistance across the region.
The strike completely destroyed 10 fire trucks, and several other vehicles were damaged. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Andriy Pyshnyy, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), reported that the NBU building sustained minor damage as a result of heavy russian shelling of Kyiv on the night of 24 May. This attack will not disrupt the regulator’s operations.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that, as a result of russian shelling during the night of 24 May, the Cabinet of Ministers building in Kyiv was slightly damaged.
The Valeriy Lobanovskyi FC Dynamo Kyiv stadium sustained damage as a result of the massive Russian strike on Kyiv on the night of 24 May. All damage was limited to the exterior facade of the building. The stadium bowl and the pitch were not affected.
During the large-scale attack on 24 May, Kyiv’s historic urban fabric was also damaged, according to “Detector Media.” In particular, the following sites were affected:
- The Main Post Office building on Independence Square: doors were deformed and windows were shattered. The building is a locally listed architectural monument.
- “Knyharniya Ye” bookstore on Spaska Street: windows were broken.
- Hinaus cultural space on Spaska Street: windows shattered; furniture, doors, office areas, and exhibition spaces were damaged.
- Zhytniy Market: several windows were broken. The building was added last year to the list of cultural heritage sites.
- Taras Shevchenko Institute of Literature: damage to the institute’s library, book storage, and most departments.
- Kyiv Small Opera: facade damaged, windows and doors destroyed, and significant interior destruction reported.
- The Ukrainian House: facade, windows, and entrance group damaged by blast wave.
A café, “Brewsell,” in Lukianivka was completely destroyed by the Russian strike. The building is not repairable.
In the “Kvadrat” shopping center, the bookstore “Bukva,” which had been operating for over ten years, was completely destroyed due to fire caused by the attack.
The “Zavertailo” bakery on Podil was also damaged, with windows and frames blown out.
On Kontraktova Square, a dancewear store “Magic of Dance” sustained damage, including shattered windows and a damaged ceiling.

As a result of the massive Russian strike on the night of 24 May, the offices of German broadcasters Deutsche Welle (DW) and ARD were damaged. According to DW’s Ukrainian service, shockwaves significantly damaged windows and ceilings in the office. No journalists were injured.
The International and European Federations of Journalists condemned Russia’s attack on Kyiv and the damage to media offices, according to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) website. They stated that indiscriminate missile and drone attacks represent another blow to the conditions necessary for independent journalism and the public’s right to access information. IFJ Secretary General Anthony Bellanger and EFJ Secretary General Ricardo Gutiérrez issued the statement.
Belarusian opposition leader in exile Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya arrived in Kyiv for her first official visit. During the visit, she is scheduled to meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, EU diplomats, and to open the Mission of Belarusian Democratic Forces in Ukraine, according to her office.
Zhytomyr oblast
In Zhytomyr, a veteran petanque championship was recently held for the first time, dedicated to Heroes’ Day. According to the organizers, 23 veterans of the Russia–Ukraine war from four communities of the region competed for the tournament title. Volunteer high school students from Zhytomyr City Lyceum No. 23 also joined the game.
In the Youth Center of Zviahel, a patriotic workshop was held on making tactical survival bracelets from paracord. Participants braided more than 30 bracelets, which will be handed over to soldiers of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade, according to Vika Savitska, director of the Zviahel Youth Center.
Sumy oblast
Sumy Regional Military Administration reported at 4:11pm on 24 May that over the day, Defence Forces of Ukraine destroyed almost 250 enemy aerial targets launched by russians at communities in Sumy oblast. According to the Territorial Defence Zone Headquarters, the destroyed targets included a cruise missile, Shahed, Herbera and Italmas attack UAVs, loitering munitions, FPV drones and reconnaissance UAVs.
Artem Kobzar, Acting Head of Sumy community, said that on 25 May, a russian drone hit the roof of an apartment block in Sumy. No one was injured or killed. An apartment was damaged.
The Regional Prosecutor’s Office informed that on 25 May, at about 12:00, russian military forces attacked a children’s playground in Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, Shostka region, by a UAV. Two women were injured in the strike. The injured local residents are aged 63 and 51.
According to Sumy City Military Administration, on 25 May, russian drones attacked Stetskivka and Pishchanka starostats of Sumy community. The drones hit household plots. Windows in residential houses were shattered as a result of the hits. An outbuilding was damaged.
On 24 May at 1:40am, russia struck near an apartment block in Sumy by a UAV. The attack damaged windows and balcony frames in four apartment blocks and several cars.
The Regional Military Administration reported that as a result of enemy strikes in Sumy oblast over the past day, as of the morning of 25 May, one person was killed and four were injured.
In Krasnopillia community, a 24-year-old man was killed as a result of a russian UAV attack on a civilian car.
In Hlukhiv community, a 75-year-old man was injured as a result of an enemy UAV strike.
In Mykolaivka rural community, a 55-year-old man was injured as a result of explosives dropped from an enemy drone.
In Seredyna-Buda community, a 57-year-old woman was injured as a result of a russian UAV strike.
In Vorozhba community, an 80-year-old woman was injured as a result of an enemy drone strike.
Over the day, from the morning of 24 May to the morning of 25 May, russian troops carried out almost 90 attacks on 43 settlements in 21 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy, Shostka and Konotop regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Over the day, the air raid alert in the oblast lasted 21 hours and 17 minutes.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

▪️in Hlukhiv community, administrative and non-residential premises were damaged;
▪️in Velyka Pysarivka community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️in Krasnopillia community, a private car was damaged;
▪️in Mykolaivka rural community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️in Znob-Novhorodske community, a private residential house was destroyed, while private residential houses were damaged;
▪️in Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a civilian infrastructure facility and private residential houses were damaged;
▪️in Vorozhba community, private residential houses and a car were damaged;
▪️in Kyrykivka community, a non-residential premises was damaged;
▪️in Bilopollia community, a private residential house, a car and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️in Shostka community, a private residential house was destroyed, while private residential houses and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️in Esman community, a private residential house was destroyed;
▪️in Seredyna-Buda community, private houses and a non-residential premises were damaged.
On 23 May, russian army struck Bilopollia. An ambulance was damaged as a result of the attack. Yurii Zarko, Head of the community, said that the vehicle had been handed over to the community by benefactors on 22 May.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that on the night of 25 May, border guards of the 105th Border Detachment named after Prince Volodymyr the Great shot down 11 russian UAVs in the skies over Chernihiv oblast. Five enemy Shaheds, four Herberas and two Molniias were destroyed.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informed that on the night of 24 May, when russia launched a massive combined strike on Ukraine, border guards destroyed 46 russian UAVs in Chernihiv oblast: 31 Shaheds and 15 Herberas.
Vyacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that during the week from 18 to 24 May, Defence Forces neutralised 437 russian attack drones in Chernihiv oblast.
According to Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, on the night of 25 May, russian military forces attacked Semenivka by a fibre-optic FPV drone. As a result of a hit at about 00:13am, the façade and glazing of a residential house and a civilian car were damaged.
Vyacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that overnight, from the evening of 24 May to the morning of 25 May, russian troops attacked Chernihiv by UAVs. As a result of the hits, a private house was damaged and an outbuilding caught fire. Two women, aged 39 and 44, sought medical assistance.
Vyacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that on 24 May, russian army attacked four communities in Chernihiv oblast by drones. As a result of a strike in Koriukivka, firewood caught fire near a private home. An enemy Molniia UAV struck a village of Snovsk community in Koriukivka region, damaging housing. In Semenivka, a car and a home were damaged in an FPV drone strike. In villages of Novhorod-Siverskyi and Ripky communities, dry grass caught fire as a result of drone attacks.
According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, on 24 May, russian troops attacked four border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out shelling by mortars, causing 10 explosions, and tube artillery, causing 11 explosions; struck by a Molniia-type UAV, causing one explosion; a Herbera-type UAV, causing one explosion; FPV drones, causing 13 explosions; and dropped explosive devices from UAVs, causing eight explosions. Twelve settlements came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Vinnytsia oblast
At charity fairs for the military held in Vinnytsia lyceums, more than UAH 750,000 were raised. Charity fairs in support of Ukrainian servicemen took place at Lyceums No. 18, 29 and 35. Students, parents and teachers prepared baked goods, dishes, handmade decorations, creative locations and items created by schoolchildren.
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Nikopol region. A 35-year-old man was injured in Marhanets. The occupiers attacked by artillery and drones. They targeted the regional centre, Myrove, Marhanetsk, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovske rural communities. A multi-apartment and a private house, an outbuilding and a power line were damaged.
Synelnykove region. In Mezhova community, a private house was damaged as a result of an FPV strike.
Kryvyi Rih region. The enemy attacked Apostolove by UAVs. Trucks caught fire and infrastructure was damaged.
Nikopol region. In Nikopol, 5 people were injured due to artillery shelling and FPV strikes. The occupiers shelled Myrove, Marhanetsk, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovske rural communities. Fires broke out. 2 apartment buildings and 11 private houses, a market, an enterprise, 2 outbuildings, a garage, 3 minibuses, trucks, 7 cars, a tractor, a gas pipeline and infrastructure were damaged.
Kryvyi Rih region. The enemy struck Zelenodolsk community by FPV drones. 2 people were injured: a man and a 7-year-old boy. A car and solar panels were damaged.
Pavlohrad region. As a result of a UAV strike in Pavlohrad, 12 people were injured, including a child. A high-rise building caught fire. Administrative buildings and cars were damaged.
Dnipro. In Dnipro, 4 people were injured due to the attack. Houses, educational institutions and cars were damaged.
Synelnykove region. In Sloviansk community, a 73-year-old man was injured.
Kirovohrad oblast
In the cities of Oleksandriia and Novoukrainka, memorial ceremonies were held for servicemen Vadym Lazariev and Serhii Makutin.
Vadym Lazariev was killed on 25 September 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in Pokrovsk region of Donetsk oblast. He was 40 years old.
Serhii Makutin was killed on 9 April 2025, in Donetsk oblast. He was 39 years old.
Poltava oblast
3 servicemen from Poltava oblast were killed. They are Sergeant Vitalii Pismennikov from Hlobyne community, Senior Lieutenant Volodymyr Kabanov from Dykanka community, and soldier Serhii Piskunov from Kremenchuk.
Vitalii Pismennikov was killed on 25 September 2025, while carrying out a combat mission near Vilne village in Donetsk oblast.
Volodymyr Kabanov was killed on 6 November 2024, during combat operations in kursk oblast.
Serhii Piskunov was killed on 21 January 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in kursk oblast.
In Myrhorod, the acceptance of documents has begun for the restoration of housing damaged as a result of the shelling of the community by russian UAVs on 24 May. Currently, employees of the Administrative Services Centre have processed up to a dozen applications.
At Poltava Professional College of Transport Construction, windows shattered during the nighttime Shahed drone attack on 22 May were temporarily covered with OSB boards. The educational institution has suffered destruction for the second time during the full-scale war. Due to the shelling of the college, students were transferred to remote learning.
Cherkasy oblast
In Cherkasy, a memorial ceremony was held for fallen serviceman Serhii Kucher. He was killed on 14 May 2026, in Vilne village, Volnovakha region of Donetsk oblast.

Today, 25 May, russian forces attacked Novoselivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast with a drone. According to Head of the Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov, one person was injured in the attack.
Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that on 24 May russian occupiers launched 753 strikes on 48 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces carried out 28 airstrikes on Malokaterynivka, Zarichne, Richne, Novomykolaivka, Liubytske, Vasylkove, Tavriiske, Yurivka, Danylivka, Zirnytsia, Barvynivka, Nizhentsi, Orikhiv, Novoselivka, Tymoshivka, Omelnyk, Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhnia Tersa, Mykilske, Shyroke, Svoboda, and Dolynka. 512 UAVs of various types, mostly FPV drones, attacked Zaporizhzhia, Vilniansk, Kushuhum, Chervonodniprovka, Bilenke, Kanivske, Novoiakovlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivske, Lukianivske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, Dobropillia, and Nove Zaporizhzhia. Three MLRS strikes targeted Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, and Huliaipilske. russian forces also carried out 210 artillery strikes on Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Dobropillia, and Nove Zaporizhzhia. Authorities received 21 reports of damage to infrastructure, homes, and vehicles. Three people were injured in attacks on Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 25 May, Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled ten enemy attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Zlahoda, Rybne, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, and Charivne towards Huliaipole. One engagement is still ongoing. The enemy attempted to advance twice near Bilohria and Shcherbaky towards Orikhiv. One clash is still ongoing. Over the previous day, 24 May, Ukrainian forces repelled 28 russian attacks towards Huliaipole and three more towards Orikhiv.
Mykolaiv oblast
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday, 24 May, the enemy attacked the region throughout the day and night with Shahed-type drones. As a result of the attack and falling debris, a warehouse caught fire in Mykolaiv. The rescuers quickly extinguished the fire. No casualties were reported.
Also yesterday, the enemy attacked Ochakiv community three times with FPV drones and carried out an artillery strike. No casualties were reported.
Odesa oblast
Over the past week, dead and weakened Black Sea dolphins were found in the territory of the Tuzly Lagoons National Nature Park and along the coast of Odesa. Official conclusions regarding the causes of the animals’ deaths weren’t released. According to ecologist and head of the park’s research department Ivan Rusiev, possible factors include the impact of intense noise pollution, particularly explosions and other sound effects related to military activity, as well as possible contamination of the marine environment. The ecologist also suggested that some of the animals may have died in other areas of the Black Sea, including near temporarily occupied territories or zones potentially polluted by petroleum products, and were later carried by currents to the coast of Odesa oblast.
Kherson oblast
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on 25 May russian occupiers twice shelled a hospital in Bilozerka with artillery. Windows were shattered, and the facade of one of the buildings was damaged. A medical worker and two nurses were injured in the attack.
At approximately 09:30, russians attacked a man in Korabelnyi district of Kherson with a drone. The 49-year-old resident suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his back.
The Police of Kherson oblast reported that yesterday, 24 May, the russian forces attacked Kherson, Inhulivka, Sofiivka, Bilozerka, Romashkove, Dniprovske, Veletenske, Kizomys, Novodmytrivka, Tomyna Balka, Rozlyv, Poniativka, Stanislav, Sadove, Shyroka Balka, Tokarivka, Mykilske, Pryozerne, Chornobaivka, Inhulets, Daryivka, Chaichyne, Beryslav, Starosillia, Novovoskresenske, Petropavlivka, Kostromka, Urozhaine, Starytsia, Mala Seidemynukha, Novoraisk, Tarasa Shevchenka, Chervone, Biliaivka, Novopavlivka, Novomykolaivka, Kamiane, Nezlamne, Kostyrka, Shchaslyve, Lvove, Osokorivka, Vysoke, Kozatske, and Vesele. Three apartment buildings and seven private houses, an educational institution, a store, and two vehicles were damaged. Two people were killed and 16 were injured as a result of russian aggression.
The General Staff reported that as of 16:00 on 25 May, Ukrainian defenders stopped an enemy attempt to advance toward the Antonivskyi Bridge, Kherson.
Four more children were evacuated from the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson oblast. According to the head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, there are two boys and two girls aged between six and 17.
A new recruitment campaign began for UAV operator positions in the BARS-33 unit in the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson oblast. The occupiers promise salaries starting from 200,000 rubles, short-term contracts, modern equipment, and service close to home. According to the Center for National Resistance, most BARS detachments were integrated into the structure of the regular russian army and are used as ordinary motorized rifle units. Commanders in these units systematically refuse to sign discharge reports, threaten criminal prosecution, or simply ignore requests.

In Rivne oblast, applications for businesses to compensate for the cost of equipment have started. Entrepreneurs can already submit documents and receive up to UAH 600,000 for purchased equipment. For businesses involved in ensuring defense needs, special support conditions are provided – up to UAH 2m.
Ternopil oblast
As part of the National Accessibility Week, veterans with disabilities as a result of the war tested adapted vehicles at Ternopil Region Ministry of Internal Affairs Service Center. Ukraine has a project of the Ministry of Veterans, which provides compensation of up to UAH 70,000 for the conversion of cars for veterans with disabilities as a result of the war.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
The Defense Forces received 100 attack aircraft worth UAH 4m from Khmelnytskyi community.
Chernivtsi oblast
