On 24 May, the aggressor attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 52 times.
Artillery shelling of border areas continues. In Sumy oblast, the following settlements were affected: Ryzhivka, Korenok, Sopych, Ulanove, Yastrubshchyna, Novovasylivka, Rohizne, Tovstodubove, Volfyne, and Neskuchne; in Chernihiv oblast—Khrinivka. The settlements of Shostka and Bachivsk in Sumy oblast sustained airstrikes.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, one combat engagement took place; the enemy launched two airstrikes using six guided aerial bombs and conducted 23 shellings of settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops.
Towards Southern Sloboda, one combat engagement with the enemy took place in the vicinity of Fyholivka.
Towards Kupiansk, Orikhiv, and Kherson, the enemy conducted no offensive operations.
Towards Lyman, the Defense Forces repelled seven combat engagements in the vicinity of Drobysheve, Dibrova, Yampil, and Lyman. Two combat engagements are currently ongoing.
Towards Sloviansk, the Defense Forces successfully repelled four attempts by the invaders to advance in the vicinity of Zakitne and Rai-Oleksandrivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have tried 24 times to push Ukrainian warriors from their positions in the vicinity of Toretske, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Udachne, and Molodetske, Kucheriv Yar, Shevchenko, and Bilytske. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.
Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy advanced once in the vicinity of Ternove.
Towards Huilaipole, the Defense Forces successfully repelled seven enemy attacks in the vicinity of Pryluky and Zaliznychne, and towards Hirke, Nove Zaporizhzhia, and Staroukrainka.
In other directions, there are currently no significant changes in the situation. No enemy attempts to advance were recorded.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one combat engagement with russian troops was recorded in Kharkiv oblast during the day—in the vicinity of Fyholivka towards Southern Sloboda. Towards Kupiansk, the russians conducted no attacks since the beginning of the day.
Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and the city council reported that a strike by a russian UAV, preliminarily identified as a Molniya, was recorded in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv. The strike hit an open area in the residential sector.
Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv Settlement Military Administration, reported that at least five russian strikes were recorded in Zolochiv throughout the morning and afternoon. At 10:40, a Molniya struck the ground, damaging two private houses and power grids. Forty minutes later, another UAV hit the courtyard of the settlement council, damaging a tractor, a bus, and outbuildings. At 10:50, a fiber-optic FPV drone attacked an agricultural enterprise, causing a warehouse building and a tractor to catch fire. At 12:06, a V2U UAV hit the territory of an agricultural firm, damaging a hangar, a truck, and a gas pipeline. At around 13:50, a fiber-optic FPV drone attacked a civilian car; the vehicle was damaged, and no injuries were reported.
According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, in Bohodukhiv, russian troops struck with UAVs, preliminarily deployment of at least three Molniya-type drones. The number of casualties rose to 13 people, including a police officer. Seven people were hospitalized, while others received medical assistance on-site. Most of the victims were diagnosed with blast injuries. Fifteen cars and the window glazing of an apartment building were damaged.
The Kharkiv Oblast Police reported that in Virivka, Chuhuiv district, a 78-year-old woman and her 47-year-old nephew were killed when a russian UAV struck a house.
Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv Settlement Military Administration, reported that in the morning, russian troops attacked Liutivka, Zavadske, and Klynova-Novoselivka, Zolochiv community. The occupiers deployed FPV drones and Molniya-type UAVs. As a result of the strikes, a private house was destroyed, and three more houses and outbuildings were damaged.
Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of Derhachi City Military Administration, reported that at approximately 05:30, a russian FPV drone hit a private house in Prudianka. Additionally, after 14:00 on 23 May, the occupiers struck a private courtyard in Slatyne with a drone. In both cases, the window glazing of the houses was damaged.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, there were 248 combat engagements in the oblast. Towards Southern Sloboda, russian troops attacked the positions of the Defense Forces five times in the vicinity of Petro-Ivanivka, Ternova, and Starytsia. Towards Kupiansk, the russian army attacked five times in the vicinity of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Kivsharivka, and Kolisnykivka.
Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported that over the past day, 20 settlements in Kharkiv oblast came under enemy fire. Three people were killed, and 10 others were injured. An 86-year-old woman was killed and a 64-year-old man was injured in Kozacha Lopan; in Balakliia, women aged 23, 36, 48, and 55 sustained injuries, while another five people suffered an acute stress reaction; in Okhrymivka, Vovchansk community, men aged 59 and 54 were killed.
Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reported that russian troops deployed two missiles of an unidentified type, two Geran-2 UAVs, one Lancet, eight Molniya UAVs, eight FPV drones, and 65 unidentified drones across Kharkiv oblast.
In Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv, and Chuhuiv regions, residential houses, an agricultural enterprise’s warehouse building, a farm hangar, a sports facility, a museum, an educational institution, a cafe, a post office, a hotel, a religious institution, power grids, cars, and an emergency medical assistance vehicle were damaged.
Kharkiv Regional Military Administration reports that the transit evacuation point in Lozova received 180 people over the past day. Since the point began operating, 35,840 people have been registered there.
Donetsk oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 23 May and overnight into 24 May, the Defense Forces struck an ammunition depot and a fuel and lubricants depot of the russian army in the area of Bilolutsk, Luhansk oblast, as well as occupier UAV command posts in the area of Voskresenka, Donetsk oblast.
Dmytro Ziniuk, press officer for the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade, stated that towards Kostiantynivka, russian troops have intensified their offensive, concentrating infantry and deploying drones en masse. According to him, despite up to 300 shelling attacks, attempts by small assault groups to break through to the city are being disrupted: Ukrainian troops are destroying the occupiers with artillery, drones, and electronic warfare systems, preventing the russian army from advancing.
A serviceman of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade with the callsign “Faust” stated that towards Pokrovsk, russian troops are assaulting with small infantry groups, using motorcycles and ATVs, and deploying UAVs en masse. Despite the difficult conditions and the constant presence of drones in the sky, Ukrainian troops are detecting the occupiers on the approaches and destroying them.
Anastasiia Miedviedieva, spokesperson for Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, reported that on 24 May, russian troops shelled Maiaky of the Sviatohirsk community and Druzhkivka. As a result of the attacks, one person sustained a mine-blast injury and an open fracture, and another suffered a blast injury and abrasions.
Vadym Liakh, Head of the City Military Administration, reported that on the morning of 24 May, the russian army attacked Sloviansk twice with UAVs. A nine-story building in the central part of the city and cars were damaged. There were no dead or injured.
On 23 May, police recorded 1,162 attacks by the russian army on the frontline and residential sector of Donetsk oblast. Eight settlements were under fire: Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, Malotaranivka, Cherkaske, and Novofedorivka. Fifty-seven civilian objects sustained damage, including 42 residential buildings.
russian troops launched 10 strikes on Kramatorsk using a KAB-250 guided bomb, artillery, FPV drones, and Molniya-2 UAVs. One person was killed, and two other residents sustained injuries. Four apartment buildings, two private houses, and an enterprise were damaged. Furthermore, towards the morning of 24 May, russia attacked the city again, targeting a market and the residential sector.
The State Emergency Service of Donetsk Oblast reported that in Kramatorsk, rescuers recovered the body of a deceased man from under the rubble of a destroyed house. russian troops struck the private sector of the city on the evening of 23 May. While clearing the structures, rescuers extricated the body of the deceased and cleared about a ton of building debris.
In Kostiantynivka, a russian Molniya-2 UAV hit a private house. A civilian was killed, and another was injured.
In Druzhkivka, three people were injured and a supermarket was damaged as a result of FPV drone strikes.
In Mykolaivka, an apartment building was destroyed by shelling, and a car was damaged in Malotaranivka. In Cherkaske, 34 private houses and civilian transport sustained damage.
Luhansk oblast
According to Oleksii Kharchenko, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, towards Lyman, russian troops tried to advance 14 times in the vicinity of ten settlements. In Luhansk oblast, the occupiers deployed 13 drones, struck six times with tube artillery, three times with automatic grenade launchers, and conducted mortar fire.
In occupied Luhansk, at the “Voin” (Warrior) center for military and sports training, the russians are emphasizing teaching children and youth how to operate drones. The occupiers themselves explain this by stating that UAVs are of great importance at the front, effectively making no secret of preparing the youth for war.
In Rubizhne, the occupiers sent out utility bills to residents, including fees for elevator usage. Payment is being demanded even from those in whose buildings the elevators have been out of service since the spring of 2022, following the start of the russian assault on the city. Damaged cabins have not been replaced, and the surviving elevators were never put back into operation.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
On the night of 24 May, Kyiv oblast came under a massive attack by russian forces, who used strike drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Damage was reported across all districts of the oblast. Two people were killed and nine injured as a result of the shelling.
According to Mykola Kalashnyk, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, two men have been killed in Bucha and Obukhiv regions of Kyiv oblast. Nine people have been injured, including a girl under the age of one. Five people have been injured in the Fastiv district.
According to the State Emergency Service, a night-time russian attack in Kyiv oblast has damaged residential buildings, warehouses and outbuildings, and caused fires to break out in several areas:
- A fire broke out in a garage cooperative in Bila Tserkva.
- In the village of Pukhivka, Brovary District, drone debris fell onto open ground.
- In Vyshhorod, a multi-storey residential building was hit.
- In the village of Novosilky, Fastiv region, a two-storey apartment block was damaged.
- In the village of Tarasivka, a private residential building was damaged as a result of an attack.
- In the village of Vita-Poshtova, a fire broke out in two private residential buildings.
- In the village of Nove, a private residential building was damaged.
- In the village of Horenka, Bucha region, a logistics centre was damaged.
- In Vyshneve, a multi-storey residential building was damaged as a result of the attack; the fire has been extinguished.
- In the village of Bilohorodka, a warehouse was damaged.
- In the village of Kryukivshchyna, a multi-apartment residential building was damaged.
- In the town of Boryspil, a private sauna building was damaged.

On the night of 24 May, the russian army launched a massive attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles. Two people were killed in the attack. According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, as of 17:02, 81 people had been injured, including three children. Thirty-one people are in hospital, three of whom are in a serious condition
Strikes and falling debris were reported in at least nine districts of the capital – Podilsky, Shevchenkivsky, Solomyansky, Obolonsky, Desnyansky, Dniprovsky, Darnytsky, Holosiivsky and Pechersky. Overall, at least fifty locations have been damaged: apartment blocks and private houses, shopping centres, educational establishments, a market, office premises, administrative buildings of the State Emergency Service and the police, and the National Museum of Chornobyl. Fires have broken out in a number of districts. Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the shelling are ongoing.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the strike hit close to a school, where people were sheltering – according to preliminary reports, the entrance to the shelter was buried under rubble. Another school and an office centre were also on fire in the same district.
The Kyiv City State Administration reported that the Lukyanivska metro station in Kyiv has been temporarily closed to passengers due to damage to the above-ground concourse caused by heavy russian shelling. The entrance and exit to the Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred at the Khreshchatyk metro station have also been closed.

According to the State Emergency Service, a fire broke out on the second floor of a school in the Shevchenkivskyi district following an attack, affecting an area of 300 square metres. In a five-storey residential building, damage occurred within a stairwell, with the fire spreading from the first to the fifth floor. A direct hit on a business centre building and a fire at the market have also been reported. In another of the 9-storey residential buildings, there was a direct hit between the 8th and 9th floors, where one person is presumed dead. A fire was also extinguished on the 2nd floor of a 9-storey residential building in the district, covering an area of 5 square metres. In addition, the building housing the museum of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv oblast was damaged.

According to the State Emergency Service, shelling in the Darnytskyi district caused a fire on the roof of a two-storey dormitory, affecting an area of approximately 150 square metres. Rescue workers evacuated the residents and extinguished the fire.
In the Dniprovskyi district, a fire broke out in a private residential building and on the premises of a garage cooperative.
In the Desnianskyi district, a shopping centre and a supermarket building were hit. A fire broke out in five garage bays on the premises of a garage cooperative.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a 9-storey residential building was hit.
In the Solomianskyi district, a minor fire and structural damage covering an area of 5 square metres occurred on the 23rd floor of a 24-storey residential building. There are also reports of damage to warehouse premises within an industrial zone.
In the Obolon district, according to preliminary data, a residential building was on fire at one address, whilst at another, firefighters were extinguishing a blaze in a 16-storey high-rise on the 12th–13th floors. A fire also broke out in a DIY store.
In the Pecherskyi district, a fire broke out on the 13th floor of a 20-storey new-build, a 10-square-metre area of a building located nearby was on fire as well.

Facilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were also damaged in the night-time attack in Kyiv. This included the buildings of the district police station and the regional office of the State Emergency Service. Whilst firefighters were putting out the blaze in the buildings, operators in shelters were receiving reports from citizens.
Zhytomyr oblast
On 22 May 2026, on the eve of Heroes’ Day, a Memorial Garden was laid out in Andrushivka, Zhytomyr Oblast, where 43 cherry blossom trees were planted. The trees were planted by representatives of the families of local servicemen who lost their lives in the russian-Ukrainian war.
In the early days of summer, Zhytomyr oblast will become the centre of school sport in Ukraine as part of the ‘Side by Side. All-Ukrainian School Leagues’ project. The towns of Korostyshiv and Zhytomyr will host young orienteering athletes from secondary schools, coming from all corners of the country.
Sumy oblast
Valentyna Nazarenko, Head of Romny Regional Military Administration, said that four people were injured in a russian strike on the private residential sector of Lypova Dolyna community on 23 May. They included a 12-year-old girl. Damage was recorded at four households. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.
Sumy City Military Administration reported that three people were injured in a park area of Sumy during the downing of a UAV. All were taken to hospital. According to preliminary information, the injuries are not serious.
Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that on 23 May, a woman hit an enemy mine in Nova Sloboda community. She was taken to hospital with multiple injuries. According to preliminary information, the woman had previously been evacuated from the community but returned recently to look after her household.
According to Sumy City Military Administration, the number of people injured as a result of a russian strike on a funeral procession in Sumy on 23 May had risen to 14. One person died as a result of the russian attack.
Sumy City Military Administration reported that throughout the day on 23 May, Velyka Chernechchyna, Bytytsia and Stetskivka starostats of Sumy community were under shelling by russian UAVs. russian military forces struck private households and the carriageway of a street. The roof and windows of a residential house and outbuildings were damaged.
Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that as a result of enemy strikes in Sumy oblast over the past day, as of the morning of 24 May, one person was killed and 18 people were injured, including a 16-year-old girl.
Due to russian shelling on 23 May, three children injured in russian attacks in Sumy oblast sought medical assistance:
- in Lypova Dolyna community, a 12-year-old child was injured in an enemy UAV strike. The child sustained a serious injury. Her condition was stabilised, and she is being hospitalised;
- in Sumy community, a 16-year-old girl who was near the impact site was injured in an enemy drone attack. According to preliminary information, her injuries are not serious. The necessary medical assistance is being provided;
- an eight-year-old boy injured during the shelling of Sumy on 21 May is being examined in hospital.
Over the day, from the morning of 23 May to the morning of 24 May, russian troops carried out more than 60 attacks on 33 settlements in 20 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy, Shostka and Okhtyrka regions. The enemy used artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Over the day, the air raid alert in the oblast lasted 22 hours and 38 minutes.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
▪️in Velyka Pysarivka community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️in Kyrykivka community, premises of a medical facility and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
▪️in Nova Sloboda community, a private house and an outbuilding were damaged;
▪️in Andriiashivka community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
▪️in Sumy community, a private house, an apartment block, outbuildings and a bus were damaged;
▪️in Bilopillia community, a private residential house, outbuildings, a non-residential premises, cars and an ambulance were damaged;
▪️in Seredyna-Buda community, a private residential house was destroyed, while a private residential house, non-residential premises and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
▪️in Buryn community, a civilian infrastructure facility, an administrative building, non-residential premises, private residential houses and an apartment block were damaged;
▪️in Lypova Dolyna community, four private houses and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
▪️in Shostka community, private residential houses and cars were damaged;
▪️in Stepanivka community, an outbuilding was damaged;
▪️in Boromlia community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
Chernihiv oblast
Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, reported that on the evening of 23 May, russian troops attacked two settlements in Semenivka community, Chernihiv oblast, by UAVs. In the village of Masheve, special equipment of state enterprise Forests of Ukraine was damaged, while in Semenivka, four residential houses and a car were damaged.
Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, said that two local women, aged 44 and 55, and a 72-year-old man were injured as a result of a russian attack on a shop in Novhorod-Siverskyi during the day on 23 May.
Sumy oblast Police informed that on the morning of 23 May in Novhorod-Siverskyi, a russian drone attacked a police car while law enforcement officers were patrolling the city. Three police officers were injured. The service vehicle was damaged.
Vyacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that on 23 May, the enemy attacked Nizhyn and Chernihiv districts. As a result of the strikes, homes were damaged in a village in Nizhyn district, an outbuilding caught fire in Ripky community of Chernihiv district, and a house was damaged in Liubech community.
According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, on 23 May, russian troops attacked five border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Koriukivka, Snovsk and Horodnia. The enemy carried out mortar strikes, causing 11 explosions; FPV drone strikes, causing six explosions; and dropped explosive devices from UAVs, causing six explosions. Seven settlements came under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that seven people were injured due to artillery shelling in Nikopol. They included a four-year-old boy and a three-month-old girl.
The occupiers struck the regional centre and Marhanets by drones and artillery. Three apartment blocks were damaged.
A man was injured in Myrove community. The enemy attacked the region with artillery and drones. The regional centre, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovske rural communities were also targeted. Three private houses, two outbuildings, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged.
Four people were injured as a result of a guided aerial bomb strike in Vasylkivka community: three men and a woman. A 64-year-old man was hospitalised in serious condition. Thirteen private houses and three apartment blocks, as well as an administrative building and a religious building, were damaged.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, said that the enemy struck Kirovohrad oblast overnight.
As a result of an enemy UAV attack in Velykovyskivka community, Novoukrainka region, 16 residential houses were damaged. A fire broke out on the territory of one household.
Poltava oblast
Poltava Regional Military Administration informed that overnight, an enemy drone attacked a private enterprise in Myrhorod region.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, said that air defence forces and systems, including mobile fire groups, neutralised eight russian missiles and 22 UAVs in Cherkasy oblast.
An enemy drone hit a residential apartment block. As a result, a fire broke out in flats from the fifth to the ninth floors. Eleven people are known to have been injured, including two children. Three of the injured were taken to hospital.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
On 24 May, russian forces carried out a drone strike near Bilenke in Zaporizhzhia region. According to Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov, two people were injured in the attack.
Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that on 23 May russian occupiers launched 867 strikes on 45 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces carried out 21 airstrikes on Malokaterynivka, Komyshuvakha, Novomykolaivka, Ternivka, Sofiivka, Mariivka, Barvynivka, Ternuvate, Liubytske, Preobrazhenka, Rivne, Omelnyk, Hirske, Verkhnia Tersa, Vozdvyzhivka, and Chervona Krynytsia. 629 UAVs of various types, mostly FPV drones, attacked Vilniansk, Kushuhum, Chervonodniprovka, Bilenke, Novoiakovlivka, Mykhailo-Lukasheve, Shyroke, Yasna Poliana, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Lukianivske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanilivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, Dobropillia, Nove Zaporizhzhia, and Zlahoda. Two MLRS strikes targeted Charivne. russian forces also carried out 215 artillery strikes on Chervonodniprovka, Novoiakovlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Dobropillia, and Nove Zaporizhzhia. Authorities received 76 reports of damage to infrastructure, homes, vehicles, and utility buildings.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 24 May, Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled seven enemy attacks near the settlements of Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Hirske, Nove Zaporizhzhia, and Staroukrainka towards Huliaipole. Over the previous day, 23 May, Ukrainian forces repelled 32 russian attacks towards Huliaipole and three more towards Orikhiv.
Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Robert “Madiar” Brovdi reported that on 23 May Ukrainian drone units struck two russian fuel tankers near the settlements of Preslav and Azovske, russian special military equipment near the village of Kostiantynivka, and a russian Tigr armored fighting vehicle near Azovske.
According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Head Ivan Fedorov, during the past week from 18 to 24 May, interceptor drone crews of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 474 russian UAVs over Zaporizhzhia oblast.
Mykolaiv oblast
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that combat operations were ongoing in the region throughout the day on 23 May. As of now, no damage or casualties were reported. The administration also stated that yesterday the enemy attacked Ochakiv community three times with FPV drones. No casualties were reported.
Odesa oblast
The press service of the Southern Air Command reported that on 23 May russian forces struck Odesa oblast with an Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from temporarily occupied Crimea. As of 09:30 on 24 May, 2026, Ukraine’s southern air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 101 Shahed and Gerbera-type drones, as well as 35 drones of other types.
Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that the missile strike targeted civilian infrastructure in Odesa oblast. According to preliminary information, nine people were injured, including three children aged 8 to 12. Seven of the injured were hospitalized. Doctors assess the condition of one adult as critical, while the children are in moderate condition.
Kherson oblast
The Police of Kherson oblast reported that today, 24 May, at around 10:40 russian forces carried out an artillery strike on a market area in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. As a result of nearly twenty explosions, seven civilians were hospitalized, and two civilians were killed.
This morning russian forces also attacked Bilozerka. According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, two women were injured.
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on the morning of 24 May russian forces shelled Korabelnyi district of Kherson with artillery. Three people were injured as a result of the attack.
Also this morning, at around 08:30, russian forces attacked a man with a drone in central Kherson. The 63-year-old resident suffered a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his torso and limbs.
Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on 23 May, the russian forces attacked Stanislav, Tomyna Balka, Dniprovske, Antonivka, Beryslav, Bilozerka, Veletenske, Vysoke, Zelenivka, Ivanivka, Kachkarivka, Kizomys, Komyshany, Mylove, Novovorontsovka, Oleksandrivka, Osokorivka, Poniativka, Prydniprovske, Pryozerne, Rakivka, Respublikhanets, Sadove, Sofiivka, Tiahynka, Ukrainka, Urozhaine, Charivne, Shyroka Balka, and the city of Kherson. Four apartment buildings, 17 private houses, a mobile communication tower, gas pipelines, and private vehicles were damaged. One person was killed and 11 others were injured as a result of russian aggression.
Ukraine’s Southern Defense Forces reported on 24 May that over the past day they eliminated 130 russian troops and destroyed 50 drone system crews, 16 UAV command posts, and 71 units of russian weapons and military equipment. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed three field supply depots and demolished 64 russian army shelters.

Volyn oblast
In Volyn oblast, 21 facilities have been identified for temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons. In total, they provide 1,097 beds. These are places for IDPs to live, in particular people from Cherkasy community, Donetsk oblast.

Lviv oblast
A modern center for training and advanced training of border control specialists has been launched in the region. The project was implemented with the support of the EU Advisory Mission and international partners. The center’s trainees will master methods for detecting forged documents, prohibited substances and stolen vehicles. The training combines theory with practice directly at checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
Rivne oblast
359 residents of Rivne oblast have already taken advantage of 0% loans to purchase solar power plants. In total, residents of the region received UAH 152.4m for this. With the funds received, they were able to purchase solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other equipment to generate electricity in their homes. In total, 2,081 households in the region now have their own solar stations. This is +54.1 MW of additional capacity.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil City Council reported that 4 rolls of non-woven fabric for making camouflage nets were received by volunteers who weave nets in the city.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
During the enemy attacks, the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were operating in the oblast. 1 missile and 1 drone were shot down/suppressed. There were no deaths, injuries or damage.
Chernivtsi oblast
Chernivtsi City Council signed a Declaration on the establishment of twinning relations with the Belgian twin city of Turnhout. The Belgian delegation was in Chernivtsi for several days. They discussed cooperation in the field of education.

During the official Memorial Day Weekend events in Chicago, Ukrainian military personnel, together with American veterans, participated in the Soldier Field 10 race. This is one of the most famous memorial sporting events in the US.
