It has been the 1339th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 24 October, there were 82 combat clashes.

Border settlements are suffering from artillery shelling from the territory of the russian federation, in particular Khliborob, Tovstodubove, Malushyne, Bobylivka in Sumy oblast.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, one enemy attack was repelled. The enemy also carried out an air strike, dropped one GAB, and carried out 89 attacks, including three from multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders seven times near Vovchansk, Odradne, Bolohivka, and Kamianka, two combat clashes are ongoing. The GAB strikes affected Kharkiv community.

Towards Kupiansk, there were three clashes, the invaders tried to advance in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka and towards Pishchane.

Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked seven times near the settlements of Karpivka, Seredne, Myrne and Shandryholove. The defense forces successfully stopped four attempts by the enemy to advance, and the fighting continues.

Towards Slaviansk, the enemy tried to break through in the vicinity of Serebrianka and towards Dronivka, three attacks were repelled.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces in the vicinity of ​​Vyimka, and was repulsed.

Towards Kostiantynivka, the invader tried to advance six times in the vicinity of Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar and towards Predtechyne.

Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders made 28 attempts to push the Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Nykanorivka, Maiak, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Horikhove and Dachne. The defense forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught and have repelled 24 attacks.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy attacked 18 times near the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Filiia, Oleksandrovhrad, Sosnivka, Novohryhorivka, Verbove, Oleksiivka, Vyshneve and Novovasylivske. Two clashes are currently ongoing.

Towards Huliaipole, there were no enemy offensive actions. The enemy’s aviation bombed Nechaivka, Andriivka and Bratske.

Towards Orikhiv, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks by enemy units near Stepove and towards Novoandriivka and Novodanylivka.

Towards Kherson, there were three failed attempts to advance in the vicinity of Antonivskyi Bridge. Enemy aircraft also carried out airstrikes on Sadovoye.

No significant changes in the situation were recorded in other areas of the front.


Yaroslav Shanko, Head of Kherson RMA, says that two women were killed as a result of russian shelling of Kherson. Another 28 people were injured to varying degrees of severity, including three children.

The National Police of Ukraine reports that over 178 thousand russian war crimes are being investigated in Ukraine. 161,794 cases concern war crimes, over 9,300 are proceedings for violations of the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, 4,584 are for collaboration activities, and 419 are for treason.

Kharkiv oblast

Front

Towards Southern Sloboda, the russian army attacked Ukrainian military positions seven times near Vovchansk, Odradne, Bolohivka and Kamianka, two combat clashes are ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, there were three combat clashes in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka and towards Pishchane.

There were 120 combat clashes.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy tried to break through the defensive lines of Ukrainian defenders 11 times in the vicinity of the settlements of Vovchansk, Kamianka, as well as Bolohivka.

Towards Kupiansk, there were four enemy attacks. Ukrainian defenders repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of Kupiansk, Pishchane, Stepova Novoselivka and Petropavlivka.

Shelling

Mayor of Kharkiv Terekhov says that two people were injured when a russian Lancet drone hit a trailer of a transport company at 15:56.

In Kharkiv, two people were injured as a result of the explosion of an unknown device. A 59-year-old and a 66-year-old man suffered explosive injuries. They were hospitalized.

At about 11:00, the russian army attacked the city with guided aerial bombs. 5 hits were recorded in the Industrial District. 10 victims are known. One hit in Kharkiv was on a car depot, damaging more than 20 cars. The second hit a civilian enterprise, the fire is being extinguished. At one of the hit sites, the blast wave also damaged two high-rise buildings, breaking windows.

Andriy Kanashevich, Head of the RMA, reports that in Kupiansk, information is being clarified about the death of a 91-year-old woman as a result of russian shelling on October 20.

The city’s mayor, Serhii Zelensky, reports that at about 05:30 on October 23, russian troops struck Lozova with Shakheds, the strikes hit critical infrastructure, there were no injuries.

Over the past day, 5 settlements in the oblast were hit by enemy strikes.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons:

▪️1 GAB;

▪️11 UAVs of the Geran-2 type;

▪️2 UAVs of the Lancet type.

In Lozova region, power grids (Lozova city) and railway infrastructure (Nove village) were damaged.

 Petro Tokar, Head of Kharkiv region police, reports that the Lancet drone, which killed one rescuer and injured five others in Zelenyi Hai on the night of October 23, reacts to metal, which makes any large-sized equipment a potential target for a drone.

In September, civilian cars traveling from Izyum in the Kharkiv region to Sloviansk in the Donetsk region were at risk of being hit by FPV drones. The largest village located along the highway is Kamyanka. It has not yet suffered from Russian drones, but anti-drone nets have already begun to be stretched over the road to it – local residents say that they saw burned cars on the way to Sloviansk.

Other

The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 134 people. 52 people remained. A total of 8,967 people have been registered at the point since it began operating.

Police officers and volunteers took a woman and her 17-year-old grandson out of Kupiansk region. In 2022, while leaving Kupiansk, russians took the boy who was studying in a local boarding school to Luhansk oblast.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that due to traffic restrictions caused by shelling, trains to Lozova are moving along a changed route with delays, combined logistics are being used.

Petro Tokar, Head of Kharkiv Region Police, says that as of October 24, the number of applications for evacuation from residents of Kupiansk and nearby settlements has increased. According to him, people have begun to agree to evacuation due to hostilities.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

Towards Oleksandrivka, in the western part of Donetsk oblast, russian troops conducted 14 attacks in the vicinity of settlements: Filiia, Sosnivka, Novoiehorivka, Orestopol, Pavlovka, Kalynivske and Pryvillia.

The leader in the number of battles over the past day is Pokrovsk, where the Defense Forces repelled 39 assaults.

The 63rd brigade reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a mechanized column of the russian army towards Lyman: artillery, FPV drones and bombers thwarted the russian assault near Stavky. Up to 20 occupiers were eliminated, 2 Russian armored personnel carriers and 1 tank.

The 425th separate assault regiment “Skala” reported that the Ukrainian military “cleared” the settlement of Torske towards Lyman and destroyed up to a hundred russians. Now there is a Ukrainian flag in Torske.

Shelling

The UZ reported that at the entrance to Kramatorsk station, there was an attempt to attack the Lviv-Kramatorsk train with a drone.

Consequences of the strikes on Kramatorsk on October 24:

▫️At 02:44, russian troops struck a store building in one of the city districts with an FPV drone;

▫️At 10:15, an Italmas strike UAV hit a wind turbine;

▫️At 12:20, an strike UAV hit an industrial zone.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of the RMA, says that two people were killed in Kramatorsk from russian shelling on October 23, seven more were injured. 

While filming the previous strike, the russian army killed Ukrainian journalists Olena Hubanova (Alyona Hramova) and cameraman Yevhen Karmazin. Their colleague Oleksandr Kolychev was injured and is currently in hospital. This happened on the morning of October 23 at a gas station in Kramatorsk. According to the regional prosecutor’s office and the regional police, the occupiers struck with a Lancet drone.

On October 23, there were 2,377 enemy shelling along the front line and residential areas.

9 settlements were under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Myrnograd, the villages of Komyshuvakha, Raihorodok, the villages of Kuritsyne, Maiaki, and Serhiivka. 27 civilian objects were destroyed, including 8 residential buildings.

In Kramatorsk, russians struck with a Lancet drone and three FPV drones – two journalists were killed, another victim is in serious condition. Three private houses, a gas station and 5 civilian cars were damaged.

Five civilians were injured in Kostiantynivka. The enemy targeted people with drones and artillery. A private house was damaged.

In Raihorodek, one person was injured and two houses were damaged as a result of a hit in the private sector.

Druzhkivka withstood 9 shelling – 3 apartment buildings, an educational institution, an enterprise, a civilian car, and a gas pipeline were destroyed.

In Myrnohrad, an apartment building was damaged in Svitlyi microdistrict.

In Komyshuvakha, Kramatorsk community, a private house and a non-residential building were damaged by a strike by a Geran-2 UAV. In Kuritsyn, Novodonetsk TG, an industrial facility was destroyed as a result of an attack by three Geran-2 UAVs. In Serhiivka, Andriivska TG, an enemy FPV drone damaged a civilian car.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that due to the shelling, rail transport in several regions of Ukraine is complicated. On October 24, trains will run through Kramatorsk on changed routes.

As of October 2025, more than 25 thousand people remain in Druzhkivka community. Evacuation is ongoing, medical facilities and shops are open.

Yevhen Tkachev, Head of the Proliska humanitarian mission in Donetsk oblast, says that there are fewer people willing to evacuate from Kostiantynivka.

Police officers evacuated a family with three dogs and six cats from Kostiantynivka. In addition, at the request of relatives, they took out the body of a deceased man who was sick and did not have time to leave the dangerous area. Another family of was taken out during the shelling – there were hits nearby while the police were loading things. Police officers also evacuated nine pets. Since the beginning of this week, rescuers have taken out 17 people from Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka and Oleksiivo-Druzhkivka. Among them are one child and one person with limited mobility.

Mariupol residents report that the occupation administration is “sealing” the apartments of local residents, posting notices prohibiting entry to the premises, the city council reported. Currently, residents are being evicted from their apartments, even if they actually live there and pay for all utilities.

Luhansk oblast

The RMA reports that on October 23, russian troops carried out 23 assaults towards Lyman and Slaviansk. The enemy tried to break through the defense near Nadiia. Eight settlements came under fire. The occupiers used barrel artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles of various types. 

ATESh agents reported that the russian command of the 506th motorized rifle regiment is forming assault companies from women due to catastrophic losses. They are being used as “cannon fodder” and for reconnaissance under the guise of civilians.

An explosion occurred in temporarily occupied Luhansk, which russian propaganda is trying to present as an attack by the “Ukrainian underground”. According to the Center for National Resistance, the incident was a planned operation by the FSB to discredit pro-Ukrainian movements. According to the official version of the occupiers, a “mined Bluetooth speaker” exploded, however, according to the Central Intelligence Agency, this was a set-up aimed at justifying further repressions in the occupied territories. After the incident, the occupation police began mass checks of local residents’ phones.

The so-called “lpr” adopted amendments to the pseudo-law on the use of ownerless residential premises. Owners who do not appear within 30 days after the “discovery” of the property lose their right to it. The list of persons who have a priority right to such housing has been expanded: “justices of the peace” and “court staff employees” have been added. Previously, the list included russian military personnel, security forces, federal employees, utility workers, and individual judges.

In schools in occupied Luhansk oblast, students in grades 7–11 were first involved in the All-russian Olympiad on the subject Fundamentals of Homeland Defense, organized under the control of the russian Ministry of Education. A practical tour of the municipal stage has already taken place in the region, which is another manifestation of the miniaturization of children in the occupied territories.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv Region Police reported that in the Boryspil district, a local resident found an intact russian “Shahed” drone in a cornfield. The drone’s warhead did not detonate and posed a danger. Specialists from the explosive ordnance disposal unit carefully removed the munition and destroyed it nearby in compliance with all safety regulations.

According to the Regional Military Administration, 402 Points of Invincibility have been deployed across Kyiv oblast. In the case of power outages caused by enemy attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, these Points of Invincibility serve as places where people can access heat, water, electricity, mobile connection, internet, phone charging stations, and first-aid kits. These locations operate 24/7 and free of charge.

In the village of Pohreby, Brovary region, residents bid farewell to 38-year-old Antonina Zaichenko, her six-month-old daughter Adelina, and 12-year-old niece Anastasia. They were killed on October 22 during a russian drone attack. Family members, fellow villagers, and teachers from the local gymnasium where Nastia studied came to pay their last respects.

According to the Regional Military Administration, in the settlement of Vorzel, part of Bucha community, construction has begun on a Center for Interaction and Recovery. The goal of this modern space is to create a comfortable environment for rehabilitation, communication, and development for residents affected by the consequences of war. The project is being implemented in partnership with the Ukrainian Red Cross and the Bucha City Council.

In a Kyiv park, on the Alley of Love, wives, mothers, and relatives of fallen soldiers planted 22 sakura trees in their memory. All the trees were brought from a Bakhmut nursery.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr City Council reported that in Zhytomyr, the families of four fallen defenders were presented with state awards. Among them were three awards granted during the soldiers’ lifetimes, which the heroes never had the chance to receive.

On October 22, Zhytomyr hosted an evening of Ukrainian music and true stories featuring Viacheslav Kupriienko — an intelligence officer, combat veteran, participant of the Revolution of Dignity, children’s writer, bard, and singer-songwriter performing his own compositions.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Regional Police reported that the enemy damaged a railway bridge and tracks over a river in Konotop region. Train traffic on this section has been suspended. Police assisted in evacuating passengers from the train and escorted buses carrying civilians to a safe location.

Between the morning of 23 October and the morning of 24 October, russian forces launched 54 attacks on 18 settlements across 11 territorial communities in Sumy oblast. The highest number of strikes occurred in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (up to 10 strikes) and drones (nearly 20 strikes), and also carried out FPV drone attacks, a missile strike, and dropped explosive grenades from UAVs. Over the past 24 hours, air-raid alerts in the region lasted for 15 hours and 55 minutes.

The Regional Military Administration informed that in Krasnopillia community, a 53-year-old man was injured in an FPV drone strike.

As of the morning of 24 October, russian attacks have caused the following damage across the region:

  • In Popivka community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
  • In Esman community, two private vehicles were damaged;
  • In Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities, non-residential premises, an apartment building, and a private house were damaged;
  • In Seredyna-Buda community, a civilian infrastructure facility was destroyed;
  • In Bilopillia community,  a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
  • In Richky community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
  • In Hlukhiv community, a private house was damaged.

During the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organisations from border communities, evacuated seven people.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv City Council reported that in Chernihiv, during an air raid alert at around 9:30pm on 23 October, an explosion occurred after a russian drone crashed in one of the city’s industrial areas.

Ratan Akhmedov, Mayor of Koriukivka community, said that as of 23 October, the community has been without electricity for 96 hours due to russian shelling. Mobile communication and internet services remain unstable. Residents can charge their devices in administrative buildings, the State Emergency Service facility, and the local art school, with additional support from supermarkets and local businesses.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, informed that on 23 October, russian forces struck an industrial facility in Chernihiv oblast, causing a fire. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

According to the State Border Guard Service, servicemen of the 105th Border Detachment destroyed a russian D-30 howitzer used to shell border areas of Chernihiv oblast.

In Chernihiv, Koriukivka, and Novhorod-Siverskyi regions, explosive ordnance disposal teams neutralised warheads from russian drones shot down by Ukrainian Defence Forces. The unexploded warheads were safely destroyed by police demolition experts.

In the vicinity of Kyselivka community, divers from the State Emergency Service retrieved fragments of a russian drone from the Desna River. Passers-by noticed the object in the water and alerted rescuers, who located the wreckage about 60 metres from the riverbank.

Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that throughout 23 October, five border communities in Chernihiv oblast — Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk, Horodnia, and Liubech — came under enemy fire. The enemy carried out 26 FPV drone strikes and dropped three explosive devices from UAVs. Three Shahed-type drones were recorded crashing in Liubech community.

Nizhyn community allocated UAH 2m. to strengthen air defence in Chernihiv oblast. The funds will be used to purchase specialised equipment necessary for protecting the oblast’s airspace. According to Mayor Oleksandr Kodola, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Nizhyn has contributed nearly UAH 230m. to defence efforts.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, said that Ukrainian air defences shot down six enemy drones.

In Nikopol region, the enemy continued attacking the regional centre, as well as Myrove and Pokrovske communities, using drones and artillery.

In Pavlohrad region, russian forces launched a drone strike, damaging infrastructure.

In Synelnykove region, a drone attack on Pokrovske community caused infrastructure damage.

In total, Nikopol region suffered around 35 attacks. The enemy targeted the regional centre, Marhanets, Myrove, and Pokrovske communities by drones and artillery. Four private houses and an outbuilding were damaged. Updated reports confirmed that a sports club in Nikopol was also damaged in a previous strike.

In Synelnykove region, russian forces used guided aerial bombs (GABs) and drones to attack Mezhova, Petropavlivka, and Pokrovske communities. Fires broke out, and a car, garage, outbuilding, and other infrastructure were damaged.

In Pavlohrad region, a drone strike damaged a local enterprise and surrounding infrastructure.

Kirovohrad oblast

In the village of Vasylivka, part of Hurivka community in Kropyvnytskyi region of Kirovohrad oblast, citizens paid tribute to 53-year-old serviceman Hennadii Ruchka. During his military service, he sustained an injury and underwent a long period of treatment. He passed away at home on 21 October.

Poltava oblast

More than UAH 800,000 was raised in Poltava community to purchase special equipment and supplies for the Ukrainian military. The funds were collected by teachers, students, and parents as part of the charity initiative “Tepla Khvylia” (“Warm Wave”).

Cherkasy oblast

An inclusive support module was opened in Talne to assist veterans, their families, and civilians who sustained injuries as a result of the full-scale invasion. It is the only centre of its kind in Cherkasy oblast, established with business funding on the premises of the local hospital. All services are provided free of charge.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 24 October, russian forces attacked the village of Prymorske in Vasylivka region with a drone, hitting a civilian car. One person was injured.

The occupiers carried out 834 strikes on 15 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 6 airstrikes on Hryhorivka, Huliaipole, Novouspenivka, and Solodke. 582 drones of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Kushuhum, Chervonodniprovka, Bilenke, Prymorske, Stepove, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Four MLRS strikes were carried out on Stepove, Huliaipole, and Uspenivka. 242 artillery strikes hit Prymorske, Stepove, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Preobrazhenka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. There were 43 reports of damage to homes, cars, and infrastructure. Two people were injured as a result of enemy attacks in Vasylivka and Polohy regions.

On 24 October, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Stepove, Novoaandriivka, and Novodanylivka towards Orikhiv. Over the past day, 23 October, the Defense Forces repelled three russian attacks towards Orikhiv.

Ukrainian journalist from Melitopol, Yana Suvorova, was sentenced in russia to 14 years in prison. She was found guilty of allegedly participating in a terrorist act and espionage. Yana Suvorova and several other journalists from the outlet “RIA Melitopol” were detained by russian security forces in occupied Melitopol on 20 August, 2023. Her current location and physical condition are unknown.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, the enemy attacked Ochakiv, Kutsurub, and Halytsynove communities eight times with FPV drones. The enemy also carried out an artillery strike on Kutsurub community. As a result of one of the attacks, a private house and a power line in the village of Dmytrivka were damaged. During the night, one Shahed-type drone was shot down in the region.

Odesa oblast

On 24 October, russian occupation forces carried out an airstrike on Odesa oblast using three precision-guided bombs with extended range, launched from a Su-34 aircraft. Ukraine’s southern air defense shot down two of the bombs. Another one fell in an open area without causing any damage. According to the head of Odesa RMA, Oleh Kiper, the enemy used precision-guided bombs to attack Odesa oblast for the first time.

Kherson oblast

On 24 October, the russian army launched a massive strike on Kherson: shelling in Shumenskyi neighborhood killed two people and injured 24, including three teenagers. Enemy shells mostly hit residential areas. Many apartment buildings had windows shattered, floors and roofs damaged, and some apartments destroyed. The shelling also caused fires. In total, 23 apartment buildings and 58 private houses were destroyed, along with nine civilian cars, a police vehicle, two emergency medical service vehicles, a minibus, and a trolleybus.

Around 10 am, a russian drone hit a Kherson resident in Dniprovskyi district. A 57-year-old man sustained a blast injury and a concussion.

Kherson RMA reported that the russian army killed a resident of Bilozerka. Yesterday, a 60-year-old woman died from fatal injuries in enemy shelling.

A Kherson resident was hospitalized in moderate condition after being injured by an unknown explosive device. A 51-year-old man sustained a shrapnel wound to his wrist when the device exploded while he was cleaning the area.

A resident of Bilozerka, injured on 18 October by a russian shell hitting his house, was hospitalized. The 69-year-old man sustained a blast injury and a concussion.

Yesterday, the occupiers again attacked the de-occupied parts of Beryslav, Kherson, and Kakhovka regions with artillery, mortars, multiple rocket launchers, and drones. Settlements affected included Kherson, Sadove, Bilozerka, Kizomys, Prydniprovske, Antonivka, Sofiivka, Naddniprianske, Rozlyv, Zymivnyk, Beryslav, Novoraisk, Zolota Balka, Kozatske, and Vesele. The police reported damage to 37 objects: nine apartment buildings, 20 private houses, two administrative buildings, medical and educational facilities, a synagogue, property of an agricultural enterprise, and two vehicles. Three people were killed and 12 were injured, including two police officers.

On 24 October, three russian attempts to advance near Antonivskyi Bridge towards Kherson failed.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council held a meeting with families of missing and captured military personnel from the community. They discussed the issue of supporting and implementing the idea of creating an Alley of Hope in the city, which will be dedicated to missing and captured military personnel.

Zakarpattia oblast

Anton Pukhnichenko, veteran from Mukachevo, together with a team of veterans, launched his own professional scaffolding business. They have participated in the construction and restoration of over 20 objects in Irshava region, in the repair of the over 200-year-old Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in the village of Dubrivka. Anton Pukhnichenko is developing his business together with partners in Lithuania.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council announced that memorial plaques to Heroes Andrii Kostyk and Petro Dobrovolskyi were unveiled in the city.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Roberto Turner, Head of the International Organization for Migration Office in Ukraine. They discussed what is needed to strengthen Ukraine in the winter in case of blackouts, why it is important to continue to equip temporary housing for internally displaced persons and expand cooperation in the field of veteran policy.

The RMA held a meeting with Viktor Smal, Head of the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine. They discussed the readiness of Lviv oblast for the heating season and the issue of self-forested areas.

Lviv community sent hundreds of drones, electronic warfare systems, ground stations, transport (in particular, trucks), and electric motorcycles etc worth UAH 25.5m to 15 military units.

Rivne oblast

A radiation shelter has been built in Bilokrynytska community in a kindergarten. It is designed for 110 people and has 5 rooms. The implementation of this important security project cost the community over UAH 20m.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Egils Helmanis, Mayor of the Latvian city of Ogre. They discussed further support for Ukraine and areas of cooperation between Ternopil oblast and the municipality of Ogre.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Over the past 2 years, Khmelnytskyi community has purchased a number of teaching aids and equipment to equip classrooms for the Defense of Ukraine subject for over UAH 12m. They have equipped drone control classes, medical care classes and multimedia shooting ranges.

Chernivtsi oblast

The III degree For Courage Order (posthumously) was awarded to Senior Sergeant Ivan Vasilyevich Koshtur, Inspector of the Border Service of the Border Commandant’s Rapid Response of the 3rd (Luhansk) Border Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevhenii Pikus, from the village of Lashkivka, Kitsmansk community. He was killed in 2024 in Luhansk oblast while performing a combat mission.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

As part of the President of Ukraine’s participation in the European Council meeting in Brussels, the Ukrainian delegation held a number of bilateral meetings with EU leaders. The focus was on increasing pressure on russia, defense support for Ukraine, energy sustainability and further European integration.

The President of Ukraine met with Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, Emmanuel Macron, President of France, Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of Germany, Petr Fiala, Donald Tusk, Petteri Orpo and Giorgia Meloni, Prime Ministers of the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland and Italy. They discussed sanctions against the russian federation, assistance to Ukraine, expansion of defense support, strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense, restoration of energy infrastructure after russian attacks and use of frozen russian assets to support defense.
