Denis Bobkov, the unit’s officer, says that towards Pokrovsk, russian troops did not have any tactical or operational successes in the area of responsibility of the 37th separate marine brigade.
Shelling
Oleksandr Husarov, head of the SVA, says that six russian strike drones attacked two enterprises in Pechenihy on the morning of May 23.. The attack lasted for one and a half to two hours — rescuers were unable to start extinguishing the fires due to the danger of repeated hits.
One of the enterprises manufactured metal profiles and was a budget-generating enterprise. The enterprise’s security guard was trapped under the rubble, but was not seriously injured.
The second enterprise, which was attacked by three russian drones, was engaged in road repair, and equipment burned down there.

Over 223 hectares of Kharkiv oblast were demined in a week. 2,075 explosive devices were neutralized.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, reports that the GART 5100 engineering complex for demining the territory, developed by the Kharkiv company XTI Engineering, has passed all tests and certification for the start of serial production. By the end of the year, they plan to produce 16 machines.

Over the past day, the occupiers stormed the positions of the Defense Forces near Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, Lypove, Torske and Ridkodub 12 times. The day before, there were 17 battles, and the day before that – 30.
A decrease in assaults is also recorded in the most active direction, Pokrovsk, where there were 44 assaults over the past day, there were also fewer battles compared to the previous day towards Toretsk and Novopavlivka.
Shelling
Serhii Horbunov, Head of the RMA, says that one person was injured in the morning shelling of Kostyantynivka. The occupiers fired on the city with Smerch MLRS for half an hour.

Three people were killed by russians in the past 24 hours in Donetsk oblast, four more were injured. Police recorded 3,212 enemy strikes. russian troops shelled 15 settlements. 47 civilian objects were destroyed, including 19 residential buildings.

Luhansk oblast
The RMA reports that russians used artillery support on this front line 13 times. In particular, the occupiers struck three times with multiple launch rocket systems. They fired 10 times with cannon artillery. They continue to actively use unmanned systems. Yesterday, 156 UAVs were directed against the Ukrainian defenders. The invaders concentrated their offensive efforts in the areas of Hrekivka and Bilohorivka.
The kremlin passed a bill in the first reading that will allow stateless persons to sign a contract with the russian army and go to war. Its effect will also extend to the occupied Luhansk oblast, where, in particular, there have been frequent cases of deprivation of citizenship of persons who previously received a russian passport.
They are trying to eliminate the catastrophic shortage of medical personnel in the so-called “lpr” by expanding the “Zemsky Doctor” and “Zemsky Paramedic” programs. However, this has not improved the situation in this area over the past two years. During that period, only about 20 doctors and paramedics arrived there, agreeing to work there for the next five years in exchange for incentive payments.

The RMA reported that in the morning, the enemy attacked Kyiv oblast with UAVs. In the Obukhiv district, seven private houses, four cars, a garage and outbuildings were damaged as a result of the russian attack. Windows were smashed, facades and roofs damaged.
In Kyiv, people paid tribute to the deceased actor, TV presenter and soldier Maksym Nelipa, who died at the front on 12 May. Around 200 people came to the Centre for Culture and Arts of National Technical University of Ukraine, where the deceased studied. After the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces.
The Kyiv City State Administration announced that educational institutions in Kyiv are preparing for the new school year under martial law. Special attention is being paid to shelters, construction of dual-use facilities and infrastructure modernisation. 83% of pupils study full-time in Kyiv schools. In kindergartens, the enrolment rate is about 93%..
Belgian shepherd dogs are working alongside rescuers to clear the area of explosive ordnance in Kyiv oblast. Achilles and Derek arrived in Ukraine thanks to the support of Norwegian People’s Aid and underwent specialised training with dog handlers, becoming full-fledged participants in the operation. Together with their handlers, the dogs are part of the Interregional Rapid Response Centre of the State Emergency Service, which has been operating in Kyiv Oblast since last week.
Kyiv oblast welcomed the participants of the annual bicycle ride ‘Honouring the Memory of Ukraine’s Defenders’ in 2015. The nine-day, 871-kilometre-long bike ride started on 15 May in Uzhhorod. Two war veterans from Kyiv oblast, Ivan Balashov and Anatoliy Veresenko, took part in the cycle ride along the entire route.
Zhytomyr oblast
The head of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, announced that on 23 May, Ukraine returned 390 of its defenders home as part of the first stage of the 1000-for-1000 prisoner exchange. According to preliminary information, including eight soldiers from Zhytomyr oblast.
The RMA reported that on Heroes’ Day, Zhytomyr residents honoured the memory of fallen soldiers. Representatives of the city and regional authorities, the military, and relatives and friends of the fallen soldiers gathered near the “Alley of Glory of Heroes.”
A charity football mini-tournament “In the Heart Forever” was held in Malyn. The participants included children of fallen soldiers and active servicemen defending Ukraine, as well as children of volunteers. The tournament raised money for the 30th separate mechanised brigade.
Sumy oblast
On the evening of 22 May Vadym Mysnyk, Spokesperson for Operational-Tactical Group ‘Siversk,’ reported that the situation in Sumy oblast has not changed significantly. Enemy forces remain stationed along the entire border line. The highest concentration of russian troops is in Kursk oblast, where Ukrainian Defense Forces are most active. Border settlements are suffering as russian troops destroy them using all available weaponry.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informed that in Sumy oblast, border guards have destroyed one ‘Shahed’ UAV and 14 FPV-drones over the past two days, including three controlled via fiber optics.
According to Sumy Regional Police, in the morning of 23 May, russian forces shelled Bilopillia in Sumy region using multiple rocket launchers. As a result, a private house burned down, and about ten households were damaged.
Velyka Pysarivka Military Administration reported that on 22 May, three russian ‘Molniya’ UAVs struck the center of Velyka Pysarivka. As a result of the shelling, administrative buildings, a store, and garages were damaged. No casualties were reported.
The Regional Military Administration informed that throughout the day, from the morning of 22 May to the morning of 23 May, russian forces carried out nearly 90 shelling attacks on 35 settlements across 12 territorial communities in the oblast. The most intense shelling was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used multiple rocket launchers (nearly 20 strikes) and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (over 10 drops). Additionally, russian forces launched unguided aerial rocket strikes and UAV attacks on Sumy oblast.
As a result of russian strikes on Sumy oblast the previous day, a private house caught fire in Bilopillia community due to shelling, and about ten households were damaged. Additionally, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged in Putyvl and Sumy communities, along with two residential properties in Velyka Pysarivka community.
According to the Oblast Hospital, three people who were injured in the enemy attack on ‘Bilopillia-Sumy’ bus on 17 May remain in the hospital. These passengers suffered severe injuries and have undergone surgery. The bus driver, who was also wounded, has already been discharged from the hospital.
Tetiana Piskuriova, Volunteer, said that the combat dog Ralph, who was searched for after the russian missile strike on Shostka community, has been found. He is injured, and his condition is critical. Volunteers are currently raising funds for his treatment.
Over the past day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations from border communities, evacuated 29 people.
The Regional Military Administration announced that since the beginning of the year, 12,000 residents of Sumy oblast have received support in resilience centers, nearly half of whom are veterans and family members of defenders.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that in the morning of 23 May, explosions damaged buildings and equipment at an agricultural enterprise in Nizhyn region.
In the evening of 22 May, russian forces attacked a border village in Novhorod-Siverskyi community using a ‘Molniya’ UAV. A local resident suffered a concussion.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, informed that over the past day, the enemy shelled Chernihiv oblast 48 times, resulting in 92 explosions across 20 settlements.
According to Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, throughout 22 May, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out attacks using mortars (25 explosions), barrel artillery (16 explosions), guided aerial bombs (3 explosions), aircraft-type strike UAVs ‘Molniya’ (3 explosions), FPV-drones (10 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (31 explosions). Sixteen settlements came under enemy fire. In Semenivka community, a residential house in Yanzhulivka village caught fire due to russian shelling, and two cell towers in Semenivka city were damaged.
Operational Command ‘North’ reported that in Turia village, Snovsk community, two explosive devices were dropped from UAVs. As a result, an uninhabited house caught fire, and a residential building was damaged. In Hremiach, Novhorod-Siverskyi community, a local resident was injured, and a private house was damaged.
On 23 May, in honor of Heroes’ Day, a memorial sign was unveiled near Catherine Cathedral in Chernihiv to commemorate soldiers who died in russo-Ukrainian war.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, said that the enemy attacked the oblast with drones. The Air Armed forces destroyed four enemy UAVs. Tomakivka community was also attacked. In the evening, the occupiers also attacked Mezhova community of Synelnykove region with anti-aircraft guns, and used UAVs in Malomykhailivka.
The occupiers again terrorised civilians in Nikopol region. They attacked the area with drones and fired from artillery. They targeted the region centre, Myrove, Pokrov and Marhanets communities. In the morning, a drone hit an apartment block in Nikopol. A fire broke out. A 22-year-old woman was injured and will be treated at home. A multi-storey building, 2 private houses, as many outbuildings, 3 cars, an administrative building and a gas pipeline were damaged. Mezhova community of Synelnykive region was also hit by drones. Two private houses, an outbuilding and a car were damaged there. Novopavlivka community was also hit with anti-aircraft guns. According to updated information, a farm caught fire as a result of a strike on Samarivske region.
Vinnytsia oblast
Serhii Morhunov, Mayor of Vinnytsia, reported that there are 17 residents of Vinnytsia is currently known among those released from captivity.
Poltava oblast

Zaporizhzhia oblast
On 23 May, russian troops shelled Huliaipole community with artillery. Two people were injured. The premises of an agricultural enterprise were destroyed.
On 22 May, the occupiers carried out 658 strikes on 17 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy launched 11 airstrikes on Stepnohirsk, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Chervone, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Novoivanivka. 412 UAVs of various types (mainly FPV drones) attacked Lobkove, Kamianske, Stepove, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Novodarivka, Novopavlivka, and Verkhnia Tersa. It is reported that the occupiers attempted to advance three times in the areas of Stepove and Novodanylivka towards Orikhiv, but were stopped by Ukrainian units.
In temporarily occupied Enerhodar, fake volunteers, pretending to offer “humanitarian aid,” are deceiving pensioners to obtain their personal data. According to the Yellow Ribbon resistance movement, so-called “volunteers from Rostov” are approaching local pensioners and offering to fill out a form to receive humanitarian assistance. However, the data is being used for fraud—such as taking out loans or engaging in financial scams.
Mykolaiv oblast

Odesa oblast
On 23 May, during the day, the enemy struck Odesa’s port infrastructure with two ballistic missiles. One person was killed and eight were injured.

In the morning, the enemy attacked Odesa region with strike drones. A private house in the suburbs of Odesa was damaged, and one person was wounded.
As of 6:00 am on 23 May, 3 enemy ships were stationed in the Mediterranean Sea, including 1 carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 8 missiles.
Over the past day, 13 vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interests, while 5 more ships entered the Sea of Azov.
Kherson oblast
Today, two people were killed in Kherson due to enemy attacks. A man born in 1969 was killed in the shelling in the city’s Tsentralnyi district. Around noon, russian occupying forces killed another man in Dniprovskyi district.
At approximately 12:20, the enemy once again attacked Kherson with a drone. An explosive was dropped on a 45-year-old man, causing blast trauma and multiple shrapnel wounds.
A woman injured by russian shelling in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson was taken to the hospital. Preliminary reports indicate the 58-year-old woman sustained blast injuries.
Around 11:30, the occupiers attacked Kherson with a drone. A 57-year-old man suffered a blast injury and concussion.
A man wounded by russian artillery shelling in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson was also taken to the hospital. The 39-year-old resident of Kherson suffered a blast injury and concussion.
As a result of a drone strike in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson, a 46-year-old man received blast injuries, shrapnel wounds to the chest, and leg.
At around 11:30, russian forces attacked Sadove with a drone. A 41-year-old man who was outside at the time sustained blast injuries and multiple shrapnel wounds to his torso and limbs.
A woman was hospitalized after being injured around 11:00 p.m. the previous day due to a russian strike on Antonivka. The 61-year-old resident was rescued from under the rubble of a house and diagnosed with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to her leg and back.
A paramedic was injured in Bilozerka in a russian artillery attack. The 55-year-old man was struck while outside, suffering blast trauma, a concussion, and a leg injury.

Around 10:00, russians attacked Havrylivka with a drone. A 61-year-old man was injured, sustaining blast trauma and a concussion.
A resident was injured due to a russian attack on Beryslav region. Around 09:00, a 36-year-old man was struck between the villages of Kachkarivka and Nova Kamianka.
A senior resident of Beryslav needed medical help after being attacked with a drone in the morning. The 71-year-old man suffered a blast injury and a shrapnel wound to the chest.
Today at approximately 09:30, a tractor driver hit a russian mine while working in a field near the village of Chervone. The explosion damaged the vehicle, but the driver was unharmed.
Medical assistance was provided to a woman injured the day before in a drone attack on Stanislav. The 64-year-old resident was hit by an explosive while in her yard. She sustained blast injuries and leg wounds.

Near the stele To the Soldiers Who Were Killed for the Freedom of Ukraine, next to the monument to Stepan Bandera, the Memorial Bell was consecrated – a monument symbolizing respect, gratitude and memory of all who gave their lives for the independence of Ukraine. The initiative to create the bell belongs to the relatives and friends of the fallen soldiers. Memorial services, joint prayers and commemorative events will be held here.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
13 veterans and active military personnel of Khmelnytskyi community received certificates for the purchase of housing on Heroes’ Day. Last year, 40 Khmelnytskyi soldiers received housing.
Chernivtsi oblast
At dawn, enemy drones attacked Bukovina. Thanks to the coordinated work of air defense soldiers, several enemy targets were destroyed. As a result of falling debris, a fire broke out at a railway station in one of the regions of Chernivtsi oblast. The fire was quickly localized by the State Emergency Service units. There were no injuries or deaths.

Italy will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package, which will include hundreds of M113 armored personnel carriers. Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto presented the eleventh military aid package for Ukraine to the Public Security Committee.
Ukraine and Sweden discussed modernization of Soviet aircraft. The issue was equipping Ukrainian aircraft with new radars, protection systems, and electronic countermeasures. The issue of deepening cooperation between the defense-industrial complexes of both countries was also raised.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, held a conversation with Andrej Plenkovic, Prime Minister of Croatia. They discussed support for Ukraine.
