Towards Kupiansk, the russian army attacked twice in the vicinity of Novoplatonivka and Kurylivka.

On March 19, russian troops attempted to break through the defenses towards Lyman-Borova, simultaneously attacking seven sectors within the Third Army Corps’ zone. The occupiers deployed over 500 personnel, 28 armored vehicles, and more than 100 units of motor equipment, including buggies and quad bikes. Ukrainian units thwarted the offensive: the russian army failed to capture any positions or settlements. According to the Corps, the Defense Forces eliminated 288 russian soldiers and wounded 117. They also destroyed 84 units of motor equipment, 11 IFVs and APCs, three tanks, and over 160 drones, while striking a TOS Sontsepyok heavy flamethrower and five artillery guns.

In the village of Ukrainske in the Vovchansk community, a 50-year-old man suffered an explosive chest wound from a russian attack and was hospitalized. In Izium, six people suffered injuries or acute stress reactions due to a nighttime russian airstrike. More than 20 private houses, a car, and power lines were damaged. The russians also attacked a district in the city with a drone, preliminary identified as a Gerbera or Shahed type, damaging private homes. Over the past day, 11 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under russian fire.

As a result of the shelling, 10 people were injured, including a child. In Izium, victims included men aged 67 and 70, women aged 74 and 50, and a 14-year-old girl. In Oskil, a 77-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman suffered acute stress reactions. Donetsk oblast

Towards Kostiantynivka, russian troops launched 22 assaults over the past day against Defense Forces positions near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiivka. Towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian military personnel halted 32 russian assaults, while the Defense Forces repelled another seven attacks towards Sloviansk.

Towards Pokrovsk, russian forces attempt daily to infiltrate between Ukrainian positions in small groups, bypassing open areas and hiding in tree lines. The Russian army rarely uses armored vehicles on the front line, instead relying on infantry, drones, and strikes against logistics. The Defense Forces detect these groups early and destroy them on the approaches.

Towards Lyman, russian troops are utilizing three-ton guided aerial bombs (KABs), Lancet drones, mass assaults, and constant aerial reconnaissance. Ukrainian units are holding the line despite the enemy’s significant numerical advantage and are urging residents of Lyman area not to delay evacuation.

On the night of March 21, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck russian command facilities in Donetsk oblast. Hits were confirmed on a Rubikon unit control point in Mariupol and an occupier command and observation post in Paraskoviivka.

Luhansk oblast

Luhansk Regional Defense Council approved the allocation of 70.96 million UAH to support the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The funds will be directed toward the purchase of logistical and evacuation ground robotic systems, unmanned systems, transport, and spare parts for military units. Since the beginning of the year, Luhansk oblast has allocated over 200 million UAH for the needs of the Defense Forces.

Meetings were held with representatives of regional youth councils and the veteran community. Discussions focused on the integration of youth and veterans into the development of Luhansk communities, the preservation of local identity, and the creation of communication spaces.

Regional communities allocated nearly 1.7 million UAH in aid to military personnel and veterans over the course of the week. Rubizhne community directed 900,000 UAH to 30 defenders and their family members, Lysychansk provided 305,000 UAH, Novoaidar — 100,000 UAH, and Kolomyichykha — 234,000 UAH. Sievierodonetsk community also announced a call for project proposals to support veteran entrepreneurship in 2026, offering one-time grants of up to 150,000 UAH to start or grow a business.

Following a massive onslaught the day before, russian forces launched only one assault on Ukrainian positions towards Lyman over the past day. Meanwhile, the enemy attacked seven times in the Sloviansk sector of the front. In Luhansk oblast, occupiers used mortars nine times, carried out five grenade launcher attacks, and directed 24 drones toward Ukrainian defenders.

After the occupation of Kreminna community, cultural institutions lost their premises but managed to maintain systematic operations by relocating to other cities and moving to online formats. Cultural life was organized through a community center, libraries, a museum, art schools, and a creativity center. Key projects include spaces in Rivne and Dnipro, a theater studio, and creative workshops. The library continues to operate on the “wherever the people are” principle, the museum works to restore historical memory, and art schools ensure the continuity of children’s education.

Loud proclamations and low-quality, performative “restoration” are all the russians can boast of in Sievierodonetsk. The city’s industry is destroyed, there is a shortage of doctors, two-thirds of schools are closed, and business is almost non-existent. The occupation administration is preparing new non-residential real estate objects—from cafes and pharmacies to shops and fitness centers—for “nationalization.” In schools of the so-called “lpr,” russian security forces have also increased pressure on parents, threatening them with liability for their children’s internet activity under the guise of “terrorism prevention.”
