War in Ukraine today: latest news, 19 November 2025 (photo)

It has been the 1365  th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm: 

On 19 November, there were 140 combat clashes on the frontline.

The communities of border settlements suffered from enemy artillery fire, in particular, Holubivka, Bobylivka, Tovstodubove, Mykolaivka, Novovasylivka, Kucherivka, Brusky, Rudak, Zarichia in Sumy oblast; Khrinivka in Chernihiv oblast.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the enemy launched two airstrikes, dropped six guided bombs, and also carried out 103 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements, two of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled three enemy attacks near the settlements of Vovchansk, Synelnykove, Kamianka, Kolodyizne and Dvorichanske. Four more combat clashes are ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, russian invaders tried to break through Ukrainian defenses three times near the settlements of Petropavlivka, Pishchane and Shyikivka. Two combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out 15 attacks near the settlements of Nadiia, Druzheliubivka, Novyi Myr, Karpivka, Stavky, Zarichne, Drobysheve, Shandryholove, Novoselivka, as well as towards Oleksandrivka, Lyman and Synkivka. Six combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Sloviansk, the defense forces repelled seven enemy attacks. The aggressor was active in the vicinity of Serebrianka, Dibrova, Dronivka, Siversk, Vyiimka and Fedorivka. Two more combat clashes are ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy carried out eight offensive actions near Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Vyroliubivka, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky and Bilokuzminivka. Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped seven enemy attacks, and one more combat clash is still ongoing.

Towards Kostiantynivka, the enemy carried out 19 assault actions in the vicinity of Bila Hora, Kostiantynivka, Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Novoolenivka, Stepanivka, Sofiivka. Two combat clashes are currently ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, russian invaders made 52 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of the settlements of Shakhove, Nove Shakhove, Pankivka, Nykanorivka, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Rivne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novopavlivka, Novomykolaivka, Filiia, Dachne and Hryshyne. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelling 48 enemy attacks.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy tried to break through the defense of our defenders in the vicinity of the settlements of Oleksandrovhrad, Vorone, Sosnivka, Verbove, Zlahoda, Pryvilne, Yehorivka, Krasnohirske. The defense forces repelled ten enemy assaults, and another combat clash is still ongoing. The settlement of Velykymykhailivka was hit by an airstrike.

Towards Huliaipole, Ukrainian defenders stopped four enemy attacks in the vicinity of ​​Zelenyi Hai and towards Zatyshshia and Zelene. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the vicinity of ​​ Huliaipole.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders four times near Novoandriivka, Stepove and Prymorske.

Towards Kherson, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.

In the remaining directions, there were no changes.


What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Regional Military Administration reported that construction of a nine-storey building is underway in the village of Borodianka on the site of a residential building that was destroyed in 2022 as a result of russian strikes. The new building will be inclusive and equipped with a shelter. Work is ongoing at 359 Tsentralna Street. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the Recovery Agency and KRMA.

The Regional State Administration reported that Kyiv oblast and the French Civil Protection Federation have agreed to expand their cooperation. In particular, the exchange of experience between civil protection specialists and the development of education were discussed. During the period of cooperation, the oblast has already received more than €1.1 million in aid, including equipment for educational and medical institutions, equipment for communities, tablets and IT tools for educational institutions and social services, school furniture for shelters, and generators.

A forum for the community of female veterans, “Return. Support” was held in Kyiv, a platform for open communication, support and mutual understanding. Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko stated that the stories of Ukrainian servicewomen should be made more public. He noted that today more than 70,000 women serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including more than 5,500 on the front lines.

As part of the All-Ukrainian project ‘Side by Side: United Communities,’ 12 children from the frontline territories — the Derhachi community in Kharkiv oblast and the Shostka community in Sumy oblast — visited the Brovary community. Together with children from the local SOS Children’s Village, they will spend a week of rest in Brovary with educational and entertainment activities.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr bid farewell to Lieutenant Colonel Yevhen Tsapko, who devoted his entire life to military service. He stood up for Ukraine against the russian army in 2014, defending Donetsk Airport and Avdiivka, among other places. Yevhen Tsapko got a bunch of state and departmental awards for his bravery and dedication. According to the Zhytomyr City Council, the soldier’s heart stopped on 14 November 2025.

Sumy oblast

Serhii Kryvosheienko, Head of the Municipal Military Administration reported that on 19 November, the enemy carried out seven UAV strikes on Sumy community. Non-residential buildings and industrial property were damaged. No casualties were recorded.

Between the morning of 18 November and the morning of 19 November, russian forces conducted nearly 50 attacks on 22 settlements across 14 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of strikes was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (up to 5 strikes), UAVs (up to 5 strikes), and also launched FPV drone attacks. Over the course of the day, air raid alerts in the oblast lasted a total of 17 hours and 41 minutes.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged or destroyed:

  • in Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
  • in Znob-Novhorodske community, a civilian infrastructure facility, private residential houses and non-residential buildings were damaged;
  • in Esman community, a house and outbuildings were destroyed;
  • in Shostka community, a private house was damaged;
  • in Seredyna-Buda community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.

During the day, six people were evacuated from border communities by local authorities in cooperation with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and volunteer organisations.

The National Police informed that in Sumy region, police explosive ordnance teams neutralised an explosive component designed for installation on Lancet-type UAVs. The warhead, weighing about 10 kilograms, was found near a settlement.

According to the National Police, in Sumy oblast, National Police explosive ordnance specialists have created a museum displaying fragments of missiles, casings of russian aerial bombs, debris from FPV drones, “Heran”, “Shahed” and “Molniia” UAVs, as well as reconnaissance drones. Each of these items was once launched by russian forces to inflict destruction and casualties. All exhibits in the improvised museum are neutralised russian munitions that previously attacked Sumy oblast.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that during 18 November, border guards shot down three russian Shahed drones and one Herbera-type UAV over Chernihiv oblast.

Oleksandr Seliverstov Head of the Regional Military Administration said that in Semenivka, a russian “Molniia” strike UAV attacked a civilian Renault Kangoo vehicle on 19 November. No injuries were reported.

On 19 November, the russian army also attacked a non-operational administrative building in Semenivka town by a “Molniia” strike UAV.

In one of the settlements of Semenivka community, russian forces used a “Lancet” strike UAV to attack a locomotive. The strike ignited a fire and the locomotive burned down.

According to Ratan Akhmedov, Head of Koriukivka community, on 19 November, russian troops used fibre-optic-guided drones to strike Koriukivka community. Residential houses, vehicles and outbuildings were damaged. No injuries were reported.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that on the morning of 19 November, a russian UAV struck an energy facility in Chernihiv region.

Late on 18 November, the russian army attacked the town of Semenivka by a “Molniia” UAV. The strike caused a house fire. According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, two elderly women were inside the house at the time of impact but were not injured.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment informed that on 18 November, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Horodnia. The enemy carried out tube artillery strikes (8 explosions), launched “Molniia” UAVs (5 explosions) and guided aerial bombs (3 explosions), conducted FPV drone attacks (11 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (2 explosions).

In Chernihiv on 19 November, a 10-year-old boy was injured in an ammunition explosion. Police are establishing the circumstances of the incident. Preliminary information indicates that while his parents were not at home, the boy attempted to dismantle small-arms ammunition on the balcony. The item detonated, causing injuries, and the child was hospitalised.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Air Defence Forces were active across the oblast, destroying 12 enemy UAVs.

Nikopol region: In the evening, the enemy continued attacking the region by artillery and drones, targeting Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities. A fuel station was damaged.
Synelnykove region: The occupiers struck Mezhova community by guided aerial bombs, destroying a printing house and damaging an administrative building. Updated information indicates that one more man, aged 42, was injured in yesterday’s attack on Mezhyrich community in Pavlohrad region.

Dnipro region: Morning strikes in Dnipro city damaged industrial facilities.
Nikopol region: The enemy continued striking the region by drones and artillery, targeting the regional centre and Myrove, Marhanets, Pokrovske and Chervonohryhorivka communities. An enterprise, two private houses, two cars, a fire and rescue unit and infrastructure were damaged.
Kryvyi Rih region: In Hrushivka community, a private house was damaged in a drone strike.

Kirovohrad oblast

Farewells were held in the oblast for servicemen Dmytro Sakhnov from Novoprazka community and Roman Vasylkovskyi from Pobuzke community.
Dmytro Sakhnov had been listed as missing since January 2025. He was killed on 6 January 2025 during fighting near Yantarne village in Donetsk oblast.
Roman Vasylkovskyi was killed on 11 November 2025 during a russian artillery strike near Rusyn Yar village in Kramatorsk region of Donetsk oblast.
Oleksandriia town paid tribute to serviceman Yurii Servitovskyi near Svitlopilskyi Palace of Culture. Yurii Servitovskyi was killed on 2 July 2024 while performing a combat mission near  Robotyne village in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

In Popelnaste community of Kirovohrad oblast, the café “Za ZSU” provides free meals to servicemen. Local residents and people from neighbouring communities supply food. The café prepares more than fifty meals per day. It opened two years ago and has since organised regular food collection to support the military, offering free meals to those passing by.

Poltava oblast

Poltava paid tribute to Senior Soldier Andrii Dobriak, who died on 14 November 2025 at Zaporizhzhia Regional Hospital from wounds sustained in combat.

Volunteers of the Charitable Foundation “Poltava Battalion of the Concerned” are creating an educational space for recovery and rehabilitation on the grounds of the former “Dzherelo” children’s camp in Novosanzhary community. The space is being set up for military families and those affected by the war. Volunteers are carrying out the work independently, with financial support from donors.

Cherkasy oblast

Damage was recorded in the oblast following a russian attack. In Zolotonosha region, dry vegetation caught fire after drone debris fell, and a power line was damaged. Repair crews are already working. In another village, blast waves and debris damaged windows and roofs in several houses, according to preliminary information. No injuries were reported.
Ihor Taburets, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that Air Defence Forces shot down 10 missiles and 17 strike UAVs.

In Uman region, fallen defender Serhii Rezipa was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage”, 3rd Class.
Ruslan Papushyn, a resident of Hryhorivka village, was also posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage”, 3rd Class.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Tonight, defenders of the Air Command West in the area of their responsibility successfully destroyed 64 enemy targets out of 80. These are 38 cruise missiles and 26 drones. Let us remind you that the area of responsibility of the Air Command West is 8 oblasts: Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi.

Zakarpattia oblast

In Uzhhorod, they discussed current challenges and the state of observance of human information rights. There was also a presentation of the results of this year’s monitoring of the state of ensuring information rights under martial law.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The enemy struck the oblast using various types of weapons. Targets were energy infrastructure facilities. 3 people were injured in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, including 2 children.

Lviv oblast

Tonight, the occupiers attacked Lviv oblast with combat drones and cruise missiles. An energy facility was damaged. A woodworking enterprise and a warehouse were also damaged. A fire is being extinguished at one of the facilities. The total area is over 10,000 sqm. The material is difficult to extinguish, so the liquidation is ongoing. The russian federation destroyed our new modern Ukrposhta branch in Lviv. About 900 parcels were destroyed.

Emergency power outages have been introduced in Lviv oblast. This is a forced step due to the enemy attacking a number of energy facilities across the country.

Rivne oblast

New rescue equipment for 16 communities in the oblast – gasoline generators, gas cutters, chainsaws and motor pumps. They were purchased within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine 2021 – 2027 Program project. The total grant amount is EUR 552,000.

Ternopil oblast

As a result of the attacks on Ternopil, significant destruction and numerous casualties were recorded. The enemy hit an industrial facility, as well as two residential buildings – with 104 and 55 apartments. Both buildings suffered significant damage. 25 deaths are known. Over 100 injured people were taken to medical facilities, including 14 children. Rescue operations are ongoing. People from damaged buildings are being temporarily evacuated, provided with heating and places for preliminary stay. Lists of those who need temporary housing are being formed. A kindergarten and two nearby schools were also damaged.

In the village of Ilavche, Ivanovo rural territorial community, fragments of a downed enemy missile caused damage to a number of objects. It has been previously established that the facades and roofs of five buildings were damaged, including 3 premises of a local secondary education institution. One school bus was also damaged.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In Khmelnytskyi oblast, a power line in Shepetivskyi region was damaged as a result of a russian attack. There is no electricity supply in 27 settlements. Almost 2,000 subscribers were left without electricity.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi oblast and Timis county in Romania have signed a partnership agreement. This is the first agreement between the regions, which will allow bringing cooperation to a new level.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President announced that Spain will provide Ukraine with 40 missiles for IRIS-T.

Ukrainian and Czech companies have agreed to jointly produce interceptor drones.
