On 18 October, there were 74 combat clashes.
Communities of border settlements suffered from enemy artillery fire, in particular Serhiivka, Huta-Studenetska, Khrinivka in Chernihiv oblast; Stara Huta, Buniakyne, Novovasylivka, Brusky, Bila Bereza in Sumy oblast. Air strikes have also hit Pishchane and Radkivka in Sumy oblast.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were two combat clashes with enemy troops. In addition, the enemy launched seven airstrikes, dropping 11 guided bombs, and also carried out 88 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, three of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled five enemy attacks near the settlements of Odradne, Kamianka, and Bolohivka.
Towards Kupiansk, russian occupiers tried to break through Ukrainian defenses six times in the vicinity of the settlement of Stepova Novoselivka and towards Pishchane.
Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out one attack near the settlement of Novyi Myr.
Towards Slaviansk, five enemy attacks were repelled. The aggressor was active in the areas of the settlements of Yampil and Dronivka.
Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy twice tried to break through Ukrainian defenses in the vicinity of the settlement of Orikhovo-Vasylivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, russian invaders made 31 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Myroliubivka, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske and Kotliarivka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelling all enemy attacks.
Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Sosnivka, Vorone, Novomykolaivka, Novohryhorivka and Malynivka. The defense forces repelled nine enemy assaults, and two more combat clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Huliaipole, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. The settlement of Dolynka was hit by an airstrike.
Towards Orikhiv, the enemy attacked near the settlement of Stepove, and also carried out an airstrike on Stepnohirsk.
Towards Kherson, the enemy tried three times to approach the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Antonivskyi bridge. The settlement of Odradokamianka was hit by unguided air missiles.
In the remaining directions, there were no significant changes.
The IAEA informs that after the establishment of a local ceasefire, repairs began at the occupied Zaporizhzia NPP. Repairs to damaged external power lines began after 4 weeks of power outages.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that on the night of October 18, russia launched 164 Shahed and Gerber attack drones, as well as three S-300 missiles, over the territory of Ukraine. It was possible to shoot down or suppress 136 russian drones.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled five attacks near the settlements of Odradne, Kamianka and Bolohivka.
Towards Kupiansk, russian occupiers tried to break through the defense six times near the settlement of Stepova Novoselivka and towards Pishchane.
There were 128 combat clashes in the oblast.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian units 18 times near Vovchansk, Zapadne and towards the settlements of Bolohivka, Kutkivka, Obukhivka, Kolodiazne.
Towards Kupiansk, there were 7 enemy attacks. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of the settlements of Pishchane, Petropavlivka and towards Kupiansk.
Shelling
The regional State Emergency Service reported that two women were injured as a result of the attack on Lozova. Previously, the attack was carried out by a guided bomb, which resulted in destruction and a fire on the territory of a private household. A residential building with an area of 80 sq. meters was on fire.
Kharkiv regional police reported that three men were injured in russian attacks towards Kupiansk. Two men from Spodobivka, aged 19 and 25, were hospitalized with explosive injuries. Another 83-year-old man from Kivsharivka refused to be hospitalized.
Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv community says that a 35-year-old man was killed on the morning of October 18 when a fiber-optic FPV drone hit a car on a dirt road between Postolne and Baranivka. According to him, three more men, aged 29, 32 and 49, suffered acute shock. They were provided with medical assistance.
At approximately 09:05 a.m., the enemy launched a UAV strike on Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. The windows on the first floor of the dormitory were damaged. No casualties.
Over the past day, 12 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were hit by enemy strikes.
As a result of shelling in the village of Zelenyi Hai, Velykyi Burluk community, a 58-year-old man died and an 83-year-old woman was injured.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons in the Kharkiv region:

City Mayor Halyna Minaieva reports that after the massive russian attack on Chuhuiv, one microdistrict remains without electricity. Due to significant damage to power grids, a decision was made to lay an additional power transmission line in this neighborhood.
Oleksandr Hololobov, Head of Malodanylivka community, reports that from Lozovenkivka reservoir, between the villages of Cherkaska Lozova and Chaikivka, rescuers and police officers retrieved elements of a UAV that fell into the reservoir on the morning of October 16.
Other
The transit evacuation point in Lozova accepted 183 people during the day. 68 people remained. A total of 8,082 people have been registered at the Point since it began operating.
Donetsk oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that towards Pokrovsk, there were fewer enemy assaults over the past day than the day before. russian troops attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 37 times, in particular, near Shakhove, Rodynske, Promin, Myrnohrad, Lysivka, Kotlyne and Novopavlivka, the day before there were 55 assaults.
There were also fewer russian assaults towards Oleksandrivka and Kostiantynivka.
The commander of the detachment reports that five to six guns of the russian army are detected per day towards Kramatorsk by drones of the “FlyEye” unmanned aerial complexes of the 26th separate artillery brigade. They are destroyed by fellow artillerymen.
The RMA reports that at 00:20, russian troops attacked Kramatorsk with three drones. The occupiers hit the warehouses, the final consequences of the destruction are being determined.

russians struck Druzhkivka with three GAB-250 bombs and two FPV drones, injuring three civilians, damaging 10 apartment buildings and 1 private house, an educational institution, and 4 civilian cars.
Three civilians were injured as a result of a drone hitting a highway near Pryvillia in Kramatorsk community.
In Kostiantynivka, three FPV drones damaged 4 apartment buildings. The enemy fired on Kramatorsk with two Molniya-2 UAVs – a garage was damaged.
In Mykolaivka, an Italmas UAV hit 2 private houses. The occupiers attacked Lvivka of Oleksandrivska community with a Lancet drone, three private houses were damaged.
In addition, information was established about the injuries of two civilians in Hryshyn of Pokrovsk community, who were injured as a result of the shelling on October 16.
The RMA reports that since the beginning of 2025, the russian army has shelled the territory of Slaviansk community 313 times. The number of strikes and destruction has increased since July – in three and a half months, the occupants attacked more than 150 times and damaged more than 360 houses.
The RMA reports that the heating season in Slaviansk community is planned to begin on November 1. Heat has already been supplied to some medical institutions of the city. 13 Invincibility Centres will be operating in the community as well as social canteens.
Luhansk oblast
Towards Lyman and Slaviansk, russians carried out 20 assaults, 13 of them being against Lyman. There, our defenders repelled enemy attacks near Hrekivka, Krasnorichensk community. In total, the enemy tried to advance near ten settlements. When shelling our territories, russians used mainly artillery and unmanned systems. In particular, they used 11 UAVs and FPV drones.
60 thousand people in the occupied territory did not have time to re-register their disability group under the laws of the russian federation. They were ordered to undergo the procedure again by January 1, 2026. This applies to those who were registered as disabled under the laws of Ukraine, as well as those who had a legally invalid disability certificate issued in the so-called “lpr” and “dpr” from 2014 to March 1, 2023. Huge queues have formed in medical institutions in the occupied Luhansk oblast for medical and social examination commissions. Anyone who does not make it to the New Year will be deprived of social benefits.
In occupied Lysychansk, there is no agency responsible for repairing water and sewage systems. During accidents, local residents try to contact both the housing and communal services, the water utility, and the contractors involved in the poor-quality restoration of the sites. Each of the institutions and organizations forwards questions to colleagues.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
According to the regional military administration, a new nine-storey building is being constructed in the village of Borodianka at 359 Tsentralna Street. The building was destroyed by enemy shelling in early March 2022. It was impossible to restore it, so the ruins were dismantled and new construction began.
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko, on 17 October four ambulances arrived in Kyiv from Brussels. They are planned for transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Brussels community has handed over nine ambulances to Kyiv. The previous five vehicles are helping to save the health and lives of the city’s residents, particularly after russian shelling. Brussels is also helping to equip city medical facilities and provide training for the capital’s medical professionals.
According to the Ministry of Health, work is underway in Kyiv to rebuild the medical and diagnostic wing of the Okhmatdyt National Children’s Specialised Hospital. The medical facility was attacked by a russian missile in July 2024. The restoration covers external structures, in particular facades and window blocks, as well as interior decoration, engineering networks, ceilings, walls and lighting.
According to Kyiv City State Administration, from 20 October, a new passenger transport traffic order will be introduced in Kyiv during air raid alerts. This change applies to buses that cross the Podilskyi Bridge from the right to the left bank of the Dnipro River. Transport will operate according to two algorithms, depending on the location of the rolling stock at the time of the air raid alert.
Zhytomyr oblast
On 17 October, at a session of Berdychiv City Council, a decision was made to award the title of ‘Honorary Citizen of Berdychiv City Territorial Community’ to three military personnel, Heroes of Ukraine, who were killed during the russian-Ukrainian war.
Sumy oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, two combat engagements took place over the past day. In addition, russia carried out eight airstrikes, dropped 18 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 154 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.
The State Border Guard Service informed that towards Southern Sloboda, the STRIX border guard aerial reconnaissance unit destroyed four enemy positions, three vehicles, and a shelter by precise FPV drone strikes.
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that during the day on 18 October, russian forces launched a targeted drone attack on a petrol station in Zarichchia district of Sumy. A 51-year-old woman was injured. The enemy also attacked local administrative offices by drones and guided bombs, damaging residential buildings.
Between the morning of 17 October and the morning of 18 October, russian forces conducted 65 attacks on 30 settlements across 14 territorial communities in the oblast. The highest number of strikes occurred in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (up to 20 strikes) and drones (up to 10 strikes), launched five missile attacks, shelled by multiple launch rocket systems, used FPV drones, and dropped explosive grenades from UAVs. Over the past 24 hours, air-raid alerts in the region lasted for 17 hours and 48 minutes.
According to the Regional Military Administration, as a result of russian shelling, five civilians were injured:
- In Trostianets community, a 38-year-old man was injured in a drone strike.
- In Bilopillia community, two women aged 54 and 55 were injured in a drone attack.
- In Krasnopillia community, a 55-year-old man was injured by an FPV drone strike.
- In Vorozhba community, a 41-year-old man was injured in a drone attack.
Damage to civilian infrastructure as of the morning of 18 October:
- In Bilopillia community, a non-residential building was damaged.
- In Trostianets community, a truck was damaged.
- In Krasnopillia community, a car and a private house were damaged.
- In Velyka Pysarivka community, a private house was damaged.
- In Mykolaivka community, a private car and two residential houses were damaged.
- In Shostka community, a car was damaged.
- In Seredyna-Buda community, a shop was damaged.
- In Vorozhba community, two cars were damaged.
- In Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities and non-residential buildings were damaged.
During the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organisations from border communities, evacuated eight people.
The Regional Police announced that in Sumy oblast, the White Angels police crew evacuated a man who had lived for a week under shelling with a broken arm. The man sustained the injury while trying to take cover from shelling. Despite the ongoing danger and proximity to enemy positions, police successfully carried out the evacuation.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihivoblenergo informed that during the night of 18 October, the russian army struck an energy facility in Koriukivka region, leaving around 17,000 people without electricity. Energy crews are working to restore power.
Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that throughout 17 October, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast — Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk. A total of 97 strikes were recorded. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (34 explosions) and artillery strikes (7 explosions), launched one Molniya-type drone attack, conducted 44 FPV drone strikes, and dropped 11 explosive devices from UAVs.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that despite prolonged air alerts and power outage schedules, schools in Chernihiv oblast continue to operate. Currently, 55% of schools are conducting in-person classes, 23% are operating in a mixed format, and 20% are fully online. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 23 new school shelters have been built from scratch in the region, 354 have been equipped, and another 13 are under construction. A total of UAH 1.2b. has been allocated for these projects from various sources.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the regional council, informed that 11 enemy UAVs were destroyed. The enemy army struck Synelnykove region. They targeted Petropavlivka and Pokrovske communities. Fires broke out. A hospital, a car, a farm and a greenhouse were damaged. Until the night and in the morning, the occupiers struck in Nikopol region. They struck with Grad MLRSs and drones. They targeted Nikopol and Pokrovske community.
The occupiers targeted Synelnykove region by drones. They struck Mezhova and Pokrovske communities. A 52-year-old man was injured. A fire broke out, a private house and a car were damaged. The enemy struck Nikopol region about a dozen and a half times. They targeted mainly Pokrovske community, and they also struck Nikopol. In Pokrovske community, two people were injured – a 69-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman. 7 private houses, 6 outbuildings, a garage, a farm building, a greenhouse, gas pipelines and a power line were damaged.
Poltava oblast
Poltava RMA reports that at night, the enemy tried to attack the oblast using UAVs. Air defense shot down several enemy targets. As a result of the fall of the drone in Poltava region, a warehouse of one of the civilian enterprises was damaged.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, reported that in Cherkasy oblast, the defense forces shot down 7 russian UAVs at night. As a result of the fall of the enemy target, a minor fire of dry vegetation broke out in the oblast. The windows and roof of a residential building, as well as a farm building, were damaged.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that according to updated data, a 53-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were injured as a result of the russian army’s attack on Dolynka. They refused to be hospitalized.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, reported that two people were injured as a result of the russian army’s attack on Dolynka in Polohy region. russian troops carried out at least four airstrikes. Private houses, an administrative building and a kindergarten were destroyed.

IAEA Director General Grossi says that the repair of damaged power lines that powered the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP has begun. A local ceasefire has been established in the work zone. After a 4-week outage, work has begun on repairing damaged power lines to Zaporizhzhia NPP leading to it, after the establishment of local ceasefire zones. It should be noted that since September 23, it has been disconnected from the power line through which the station received power from the Ukrainian power system.
Mykolaiv oblast

Kherson oblast
The RMA informs that a 57-year-old man came under fire in the suburbs of Kherson, between Molodizhne and Naddniprianske. He has a mine-explosive injury.

Prykarpattia continues to receive people from frontline oblast. 15 residents of Lyman, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka and Sloviansk communities of Donetsk oblast arrived in the oblast.
The oblast sent 10 modern electronic warfare devices worth over UAH 2.3m to the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. It was purchased as part of programs to support the region’s military formations.
Lviv oblast
In Lviv, families of missing and captured Ukrainian soldiers in the battles for Krynki, Kherson oblast, held an event called Life: Before and After to mark the 2nd anniversary of the start of the operation.
75 drones worth about UAH 1m were sent to the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade from Drohobych region.
During a charity evening for youth in the village of Pidhirtsi, Strii community raised over UAH 50,000 to 4 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During a charity fair on the occasion of the Day of the city of Zhydachiv, about UAH 20,000 was raised for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Rivne oblast
The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Italian company Novello srl. This company is known for manufacturing modular eco-houses. Now it wants to open its production in Rivne oblast. The safety factor, human capital and natural resources were discussed in detail. The result of the meeting was the signing of a memorandum.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil City Council reported that during 2024, 3,198 military personnel from the community received a one-time cash payment for the purchase of equipment and technical means.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
307 Khmelnytskyi residents will receive additional material assistance of UAH 3.2m. Among them are 2 families of the deceased, 82 military personnel for rehabilitation (UAH 1.2m), and 144 military personnel for their own needs (almost UAH 1.5m).
Chernivtsi oblast
The RMA reported that Soldier Yurii Demyan was awarded with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Combat Cross.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
The IAEA reported that a truce has been declared at Zaporizhzhia NPP. Repairs to the plant have begun.
Slovakia will provide Ukraine with a package of energy equipment worth EUR 500,000 euros. The ministers met in Kosice as part of the third round of intergovernmental consultations led by Yuliia Svyrydenko and Robert Fico, Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Slovakia.
