On October 19, there were 76 combat clashes.
Communities of border settlements suffered from enemy artillery fire, in particular Stara Huta, Bobylivka, Novovasylivka Sumy oblast in Sumy oblast.
Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were 12 combat clashes with enemy troops. In addition, the enemy launched 2 airstrikes, dropping 6 guided bombs, and also carried out 75 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, one of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled 5 enemy attacks near the settlements of Vovchansk, Tykhe, Dvorichanske and Bolohivka. Two more combat clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, russian occupiers tried to break through Ukrainian defenses one time in the vicinity of the settlement of Pishchane.
Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out one attack near the settlement of Drobysheve. The battle is still ongoing.
Towards Sloviansk, one enemy attack was repelled. The aggressor was active in the vicinity of Serebrianka.
Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.
Towards Kostiantynivka, the enemy carried out 15 assault operations in the vicinity of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka,Toretsk, Pleshchiivka and Rusyn Yar. Four combat clashes are currently ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, russian invaders made 26 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Sukhyi Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Filiia and Novopavlivka. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelling 20 enemy attacks.
Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Andriivka-Klevtsove, Voskresenka, Sichneve, Vorone, Sosnivka and Novohryhorivka. The defense forces repelled 7 enemy assaults, and one more combat clash is still ongoing.
Towards Huliaipole, the enemy carried out one unsuccessful attack in the vicinity of Malynivka.
Towards Orikhiv, the enemy attacked near the settlement of Plavni. The battle is still ongoing.
Towards Kherson, the enemy tried three times to approach the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Antonivskyi bridge.
In the remaining directions, there were no significant changes.
In Dnipropetrovsk oblast, russia struck a DTEK coal underground mine. At the time of the attack, 192 workers were underground.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy informs that during the week, russia carried out more than 3,270 strikes with kamikaze drones, 1,370 guided bombs and about 50 missile strikes of various types on the territory of Ukraine.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
Towards Southern Sloboda, the Defense Forces repelled five attacks by the russian federation near the settlements of Vovchansk, Tykhe, Dvorichanske and Bolohivka, two more clashes are ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, the russian occupiers tried to break through the Ukrainian defenses near the settlement of Pishchane.
There were 223 combat clashes in the oblast.
Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian units 8 times near the settlements of Odradne, Kamianka and Bolohivka.
Towards Kupiansk, there were 11 attacks. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of the settlements of Stepova Novoselivka, Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Mala Shapkivka and Pishchane.
Shelling
Viktor Kovalenko, Head of the community, informs that four GABs were dropped on the outskirts of Udy, Zolochiv community at around 17:50. There was no information about damage or injuries.
Viktor Kovalenko, Head of the community, informs that russia struck the territory of the regional energy company REM in Zolochiv at around 17:15. As a result of hitting the ground, previously, by a Molniya UAV, the administrative building of the enterprise was damaged.
A 71-year-old man was killed in one of the settlements of Kupyansk region as a result of shelling, probably using MLRSs, which occurred on the morning of October 19.
Over the past day, the city of Kharkiv and 5 settlements of the oblast were subjected to enemy strikes.
Andrii Kanashevych, Head of the RMA, says that five people were injured in russian attacks on Kupiansk region on October 18. According to him, these are residents of Kupiansk and Shevchenkove communities.

One person was killed and 14 injured as a result of the shelling.
In the village of Baranivka, Zolochiv community, a 35-year-old man was killed, and men aged 31, 33, and 49 were injured; in the village of Spodobivka, Shevchenkove community, a 19-year-old and a 25-year-old man were injured; in the village of Kivsharivka, Kupiansk community, an 83-year-old man was injured; in the village of Shevchenkove, an 82-year-old woman was injured; in the town of Lozova, a 39-year-old man and women aged 47, 54, 66, 79, and 80 were injured; in the village of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Kupiansk community, a 44-year-old man was injured.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons:

Other
The transit evacuation point in Lozova accepted 181 people. 83 people remained. A total of 8,263 people have been registered at the Point since the start of work.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the russian army has resumed attacks towards Kramatorsk. The Defense Forces repelled two assaults near Orekhovo-Vasylivka, two days before that — October 16 and 17 — there were no attacks .
The largest number of battles was towards Pokrovsk — 47 battles, more than 10 attacks were towards Kostiantynivka and Oleksandrivka.
Shelling
At night, russia shelled Kramatorsk, Lyman, and Krynytsia. Seven multi-story buildings and three cars were damaged due to the night shelling of Kramatorsk. russian troops shelled the city with a Molniya-2 drone at 01:00.
In Sloviansk, in addition to the strike in the central market area, three more hits were found due to the shelling of the city by drones. Geran-2 drones hit the Slovkurort neighborhood and the industrial zone.
The RMA reported that at around 01:40 at night, russian troops attacked Sloviansk with a Geran-2 drone and hit the asphalt near the central market. A kindergarten was also damaged.
On October 18, there were 2,389 enemy strikes. 8 settlements were under fire. 18 civilian objects were destroyed, including 8 residential buildings.
In Staroraiske, the enemy attacked a civilian car with an FPV drone – one person was killed, two more were injured. The car was damaged.
russians hit Kostiantynivka with artillery – one civilian was killed, a private home was destroyed.
The occupiers directed a Lancet UAV at Serhiivka – one person was wounded.
As a result of the strike by three Geran 2 UAVs and an FPV drone in Druzhkivka, 5 private houses, a workshop, a bathhouse, a car wash and a car were damaged.
The russian army dropped five GAB-250 bombs on Rai-Oleksandrivka. an apartment building, an educational institution, and infrastructure facilities were destroyed.
Veronika Bahal, Spokeswoman for regional rescuers, says that rescuers unblocked the body of a deceased woman from under the rubble of a private house in Hannivka. russian troops shelled the village on October 15, but because of russian drones, the State Emergency Service employees were forced to interrupt work on the location several times.
Proliska volunteers arrived in Kostiantynivka to evacuate people. Among those who expressed a desire is a family with two boys aged 8 and 13. There are people who refuse to evacuate and plan to spend the winter in warmth, thanks to firewood.
Lidia Lomikovska, who left occupied Ocheretyne in Donetsk oblast on foot and later settled in a new house in Dnipropetrovsk oblast, died at the age of 99. In 2024 the woman walked 10 kilometers alone.

Luhansk oblast
Dmytro Zaporozhets, Spokesman for the 11th Army Corps, says that in Serebrianka Forest, the russian army is building fortifications and preparing to storm the village of Yampil. russian troops are planning a massive attack on the settlement after the tactic of “wave-like” attacks on two or three occupiers did not work.
Towards Lyman and Slaviansk. russians stormed the positions of Ukrainian soldiers twelve times. The enemy was most active towards Slaviansk, where it attacked eight times. Five settlements were under enemy pressure. 11 times, the occupiers used unmanned systems, twice – cannon artillery.
In schools of the so-called “lpr”, students are forced to participate in photo contests, where everyone must take a photo with their father. All photos are posted on the Internet. In a number of educational institutions, boys and girls are encouraged to win the competition, in some – they are pressured to take part without exception. But in both cases, they help the russian military enlistment offices, which will also inquire about the addresses of the men at school and make sure that they live there. The children’s parents try to resort to all sorts of tricks.
In Lysychansk, builders abandoned a high-rise building, dismantling the windows and roof elements. A few days later, due to a downpour, apartments from the fifth to the first floor were flooded. russians stopped the renovation due to lack of funding. The funds were only enough for preparatory work. Another contractor has not yet been found.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Kyiv Regional Military Administration informs that in 2025, about UAH 2 bn will be provided for the support of Ukrainian defenders, of which almost UAH 600 m – from the regional budget. All communities of the oblast are involved in supporting the defenders with their funds, automotive equipment, drones, and protective equipment.
A safe space has been created in the capital for children with disabilities. A new shelter with a transition to the hospital has been opened at the Special Child Center. The simplest shelter is designed for 50 people and has a convenient ramp. The main hospital shelter, to which it is connected, is designed for 500 people and is equipped with autonomous heat, water, and electricity supply systems.
On October 18, a race was organized in honor of the Heroes of Azovstal – servicemen who courageously held the defense in Mariupol, Donetsk oblast, and have been in russian captivity for the fourth year. The organizer of the event is a former prisoner of war, now a fighter of the 12th Azov Brigade, Dmytro, call sign “Rasti”. The purpose of the event is to remind the world that Ukrainian soldiers are still waiting to return home, as well as to express support for the relatives of the prisoners.
A Therapeutic Garden was opened at VDNH. There was a therapeutic gardening zone, an adaptive sports ground, a physical practice zone, a green room “Circle of Warmth”, a place for group meetings, and a playground for children.
Zhytomyr oblast
On 18 October, the United for Freedom race was held in Olevsk, organized by the Youth Council under Olevsk City Council. The event participants honored Ukrainian defenders who are in russian captivity or are missing. The action was initiated by a member of the Youth Council, a serviceman Ihor Kravchuk, who returned from russian captivity during an exchange on Ukraine’s Independence Day.
Sumy oblast
The Regional Military Administration reported that on 18 October, russian drone strikes in Sumy damaged a kindergarten and the railway station building. The blast wave shattered windows in passenger carriages and the station building. According to Sumy Regional Police, two people — a 32-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man — were injured in the strike on the railway station.
Later that day, russian forces launched a targeted drone attack on a petrol station in Zarichnyi district of Sumy. One person — a 51-year-old woman — was injured and is receiving medical care.
Enemy drones also struck an enterprise in Vorozhba community on 18 October. No casualties were reported.


Between the morning of 18 October and the morning of 19 October, russian forces carried out 139 attacks on 47 settlements across 15 territorial communities in Sumy oblast. The highest number of strikes occurred in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (nearly 20 strikes), drones (up to 10 strikes), dropped explosive grenades from UAVs (nearly 20 strikes), and launched FPV drone attacks. Over the past 24 hours, air-raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 18 hours and 9 minutes.
The Regional Military Administration informed that as a result of russian attacks, four civilians were injured in Sumy community — women aged 51, 53, and 32, and a 20-year-old man — all wounded in drone strikes.
Damage and destruction to civilian infrastructure were recorded as follows:
- In Mykolaivka rural community, an outbuilding was damaged.
- In Sumy community, private houses, civilian infrastructure facilities, a car, an administrative building, and an educational institution were damaged.
According to the Regional Military Administration, since the beginning of 2025, around 30,000 russian attacks have been recorded in Sumy oblast, including 12,000 drone strikes. In addition, 6,500 guided aerial bombs have hit the oblast — six times more than last year. The enemy mainly targets civilian infrastructure — residential buildings, transport, and public facilities. The energy system remains affected, with more than 19,000 customers still without electricity.
Over the past day, eight people were evacuated, and since the start of October, 181 residents of border areas have been relocated. The oblast operates centres for internally displaced persons, with over 1,500 beds currently available and capacity to expand to 10,000 if needed.
In Sumy, plans are underway to establish a memorial site on Petropavlivska Street in honour of those killed on 13 April 2025, when two russian Iskander-M missiles struck the city centre, killing 35 people and injuring 127. Project proposals are currently under review, and to reflect the views of local residents, a public consultation on the designs has been initiated.
Chernihiv oblast
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that on 18 October, russian forces attacked an energy facility near the border in Chernihiv oblast, leaving around 17,000 customers without electricity in Koriukivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi region. According to him, most consumers have already been reconnected to the power grid, while some settlements in Semenivska community remain without electricity. Restoration work is ongoing.
In the evening and overnight on 18 October, russian strike drones attacked Pryluky area, damaging an infrastructure facility and a fire and rescue station building.
Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that throughout 18 October, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast — Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk. A total of 76 strikes were recorded. The enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling, launched FPV drone attacks, and dropped explosive devices from UAVs.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council reported that the enemy launched drone strikes on Synelnykove region. The attacks targeted Shakhtarske, Mezhova, and Mykolaivka communities. In Shakhtarske, three five-storey residential buildings were hit, injuring ten residents. All received medical assistance. Rescuers evacuated 50 people to safety, including two children. A private house and local infrastructure were also damaged.
From the evening into the morning, attacks on Nikopol region continued, by drones and artillery striking Pokrovske community and Nikopol city itself. A fire broke out, damaging a private house. According to updated information, another home, two cars, and a power line were damaged in the previous day’s attacks.
In the evening, explosions were reported in Pavlohrad region. Drone strikes on Ternova community caused fires. The enemy repeatedly attacked Nikopol area, targeting the regional centre and Chervonohryhorivka community by drones. Two private houses, an outbuilding, infrastructure, and a greenhouse were damaged.
Synelnykove region also came under attack again — drones hit Mezhova community, causing fires and damaging two private houses and a car. Additionally, the occupiers attacked Zelenodolsk community in Kryvyi Rih region, damaging infrastructure.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Kalmazove village, in Vilshanka community of Holovanivsk region, Kirovohrad oblast, citizens paid tribute to 51-year-old serviceman Serhii Ivakhniuk, who was killed in Kharkiv oblast. He voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January 2023 and was known by the call sign “Kum.” During his service, he was awarded the “Golden Cross” of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a distinction from the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, and the medal “For Kursk Operation.” Serhii Ivakhniuk was killed on 18 September near the village of Hryhorivka in Kupiansk region of Kharkiv oblast as a result of a russian FPV drone attack.
Cherkasy oblast
In Uman, a rally was held in the city’s central square to support missing and captured Ukrainian servicemen. Relatives of prisoners of war and missing defenders gathered with posters and flags, calling for public support for their cause.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
On 18 October, the occupiers carried out 667 attacks on 17 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces launched 7 airstrikes on Stepnohirske, Novodanilivka, Dolynka and Malynivka. 421 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Vilne, Bilenke, Plavni, Stepove, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Poltavka, Malynivka, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Charivne and Bilohiria. 6 MLRS strikes were carried out on Stepove, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky and Poltavka. 233 artillery strikes were launched on Stepove, Plavni, Huliaipole, Poltavka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky, Bilohiria, Charivne, Novoandriivka and Mala Tokmachka. 24 reports were received about damage to housing, vehicles and infrastructure facilities. A man and a woman were injured as a result of a drone attack in Polohy region.
During the past day, 18 October, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled two russian assaults towards Orikhiv.
Mykolaiv oblast
Yesterday, the enemy launched six FPV drone attacks on Ochakiv community. No casualties were reported.
Once again, on 19 October, residents of Mykolaiv came out to honor the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers with a minute of silence. As usual, at 09:00 the participants gathered in the city center at the intersection of Soborna Street and Central Avenue.
Odesa oblast
The fallen serviceman from Odesa oblast, Heorhii Dimov, was awarded the Order “For Courage” III class. The state award was presented to his family. He had been considered missing since 26 June. On 5 July, it became known that the soldier was killed during a mortar attack.
Kherson oblast
A 71-year-old man was killed due to the enemy shelling of Kozatske. He sustained fatal injuries.
In the morning of 19 October, russian troops shelled Tomyna Balka. A 67-year-old woman suffered a blast injury, concussion, shrapnel wounds to her torso and arm, and a fractured finger.
On 18 October, the russian forces shelled Kherson, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Rakivka, Beryslav, Shyroka Balka, Oleksandrivka, Novoraisk, Charivne, Tomyna Balka, Novodmytrivka, Antonivka, Molodizhne, Mykilske, Poniativka, Kizomys, Sofiivka, Sadove, Zorivka, Prydniprovske, Berehove, Komyshany, Naddniprianske, Pravdyne, Dariivka, Osokorivka, Burhunka, Vesele, Dutchany, Novotiahynka, Odradokamianka, Tokarivka, Tomaryne. Two apartment buildings, 15 private homes, an administrative building, a mobile communication tower in Beryslav region, a garage, and private cars were damaged. Five residents were injured due to russian aggression.
In the first half of October, the charitable foundation “Sky of Ukraine” restored another 25 houses in the frontline areas of Kherson oblast. Work to seal roofs, windows, and external structures helped make homes warmer and better protected from rain and cold. Repairs were carried out in the villages of Inhulets and Fedorivka of Dariivka community, in Chornobaivka community, and in Kherson. Communities also received a new batch of construction materials to continue restoration without interruption and respond quickly to new needs. This program is implemented with the support of the international partner Samaritan’s Purse in cooperation with local communities.

Zakarpattia oblast
The official signing of the Memorandum and Agreement on Cooperation and Partnership between Khust City Council and the municipalities of Fau-la-Montagne, Genteuil-Pigerol, La Villedieu and Saint-Martin-Chateau (La Creuse department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, France) took place in Khust. The purpose of the agreements is to develop cross-border cooperation and attract support for the construction of a water supply system in the village of Nyzhne Selishche.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Over the past nine months of the Caring for the Hero’s Family project in the oblast, almost half a thousand events have been held, in which over 9,400 native servicemen participated: 1,120 participants went on vacation; 162 children recovered in summer camps; 230 native Heroes took part in rehabilitation programs; 1,360 joined physical education and health activities; over 940 participants went on various excursion tours, in particular, almost 200 abroad (in Lithuania, Croatia, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, France and on a pilgrimage tour to Medjugorje); about 3,700 project participants visited cultural events, museums, performances, master classes; and almost 1,900 participants joined prayer and pilgrimage events; over 2,240 families received free medical services as part of the Health Days.
Lviv oblast
Volunteers of the CREATE GOOD team’s Charity Fund managed to raise over UAH 14,000 to purchase generators and EcoFlow for their fellow countryman’s brigade.
Mykhailo Zolotukha, together with his pupils from the Stryi Children’s Music School named after Nyzhankivskyi, purchased a car for the Armed Forces of Ukraine with funds from charity concerts they organized. Students of grades 3 and 4 of the school №2 Khodorov, their parents and teachers raised over UAH 5,000 during the charity fair for camouflage nets for the defenders.
Viktoria Kotsur, Head of the Maidan StrIi Region NGO and volunteer, allocated UAH 170,000 for the purchase of a thermal imager for the military.
Rivne oblast
A Ukrainian team of medical specialists from Rivne Regional Hospital for War Veterans visited Sweden to study advanced rehabilitation and medical care practices. Ukrainian specialists observed the work of the acute rehabilitation department.
Ternopil oblast
15 Ternopil defenders will receive a one-time financial assistance for treatment and rehabilitation. Since the beginning of the year, 485 servicemen have already received such financial support.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
The 1st Veteran Business Fair was held in Khmelnytskyi. Over 20 businesses started by veterans, their wives, and families of fallen defenders presented their businesses at the fair.
Chernivtsi oblast
The RMA reported that soldier Oleksandr Metskanyuk was awarded with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Combatant’s Cross.
International support for Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war (Russian invasion of Ukraine)
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with representatives of the Lockheed Martin defense company. They discussed prospects for cooperation and opportunities to increase Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression.
Robert Golob, Prime Minister of Slovenia, announced that the country has joined the PURL initiative and allocated funds for the purchase of US weapons for Ukraine.
