What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

The Defense Forces of Ukraine are holding back the advance of Russian occupiers. The terrorists continue to kill Ukrainians and destroy Ukrainian cities and villages with missile, air, and artillery strikes.

At this time, the total number of combat engagements stands at 109.

The Defense Forces are taking necessary measures to prevent the enemy from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory.

Communities in the settlements of Zarichchya in the Chernihiv region; Uhroїdy, Novodmytrivka, Vovkivka, and Druzhba in the Sumy region have suffered from enemy artillery and mortar fire. The enemy carried out an airstrike on Hremiachka in the Chernihiv region.

In the Kharkiv direction, an airstrike hit Cherkaska Lozova.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian occupiers launched 13 attacks near Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Zahryzove, and Lozova. Five combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, the invading army carried out six attacks today on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Kopanky, Makiivka, Novolubiivka, and Yampilivka. Three combat engagements are still in progress.

In the Siversk direction, two combat engagements took place near Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy is attempting to advance near Vasiukivka and towards Oleksandro-Shultyne. The Defense Forces repelled one of the three attacks, while fighting continues.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy is trying to breach our defenses in the areas of Krymske, Dyliivka, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka. Nine attacks are ongoing, while our defenders have already repelled six assaults by the occupiers.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian invaders have made 33 attempts to push our warriors from their positions near the settlements of Tarasivka, Vodyane Druhe, Malynivka, Promin, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Nadezhdynka, Kotliarivka, Novooleksandrivka, Zaporizhzhia, Oleksiivka, Dachne, Shevchenko, and Ulakly. The Defense Forces are holding the line and have repelled 25 attacks, with eight combat engagements still ongoing.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders have repelled 13 enemy assault actions, while two more combat engagements are currently ongoing. The enemy is attempting to advance in the areas of Rozdolne and towards Konstyantynopil and Burlatske.

In the Hulyaipole direction, the enemy attempted to advance 11 times in the areas of Novosilka and Novopil. Our defenders have already repelled six attacks, while five are still in progress. Russian terrorist aviation carried out strikes with KAB bombs on Hulyaipole and Zaliznychne.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders are repelling an attack near Maly Shcherbaky. The enemy used unguided rockets to strike Pyatykhatky.

An operation is ongoing in the Kursk region. Today, Ukrainian warriors have repelled six enemy attacks, with four combat engagements still ongoing. The enemy’s aviation has also carried out 14 airstrikes, dropping 17 KAB bombs.

No significant changes have been recorded in other directions.

In 2024, Ukraine has managed to bring 1,358 of its people home from Russian captivity. These include both military personnel and civilians.

Ukraine currently has over 62,000 operational protective structures. Before Russia’s full-scale invasion, there were about 20,000. The requirements for their structural elements have been updated. Rescuers, together with police officers, regularly inspect the condition of shelters and bunkers. The most common violations found include a lack of seating areas, drinking water, and a second or emergency exit. After such inspections, the owners and managers of the shelters address these deficiencies. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES).

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

As of 22:00, two clashes are ongoing in the Kupiansk sector, while 14 enemy assaults have already been repelled, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russian army attacked near Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Zahryzove, and Lozova. In the Kharkiv sector, the occupiers attempted to advance toward Mala Shapkivka and Topoli.

By 16:00, Russian occupiers had launched 13 assaults in the Kupiansk sector, as reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Clashes have occurred and are still ongoing near Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Zahryzove, and Lozova. In the Kharkiv sector, Cherkaska Lozova was hit by an airstrike.

Earlier, in the Kharkiv sector, the enemy twice unsuccessfully attempted to advance in the area of Vovchansk, according to the Regional Military Administration.

In the Kupiansk sector, 10 enemy attacks took place. The Defense Forces repelled assault actions near the settlements of Topoli, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Zahryzove, and in the direction of Novoosynove.

Shelling

The Borova community was heavily shelled by Russian forces from 15:00 to 16:00, using 10 guided aerial bombs and multiple rocket launchers, as reported by the Borova Village Council. The attack damaged the power grid, a major internet provider’s main line, several residential buildings, and agricultural structures. Due to power grid damage, heating and water supply were temporarily disrupted but were restored using backup power sources.

At 05:00, Russians attacked the Bohodukhiv district, striking the town of Zolochiv. A guided aerial bomb destroyed a social protection building. Administrative buildings and a two-story residential building were also damaged.

At 04:15, Russians attacked the Izium district, targeting the Borova Territorial Community and the village of Horokhovatka. Shelling from multiple rocket launchers destroyed two agricultural structures.

Over the past 24 hours, the occupiers have used against the unarmed residents of Kharkiv region:

  • 5 guided aerial bombs,
  • 16 unguided aerial rockets,
  • 22 UAVs of various types.

At 14:10, the Russians attacked the city of Kharkiv. As a result of debris from a “Molniya-1” drone, the roof of a dormitory was damaged.

At 23:50, the Russians attacked the Kupiansk district, Velykoburlutska community. A “Geran” UAV strike damaged a warehouse building.

At 16:00, the Russians attacked the Kupiansk district, Dvorichanska community, village of Kutkivka. An FPV drone strike injured three men, aged 23, 49, and 50.

At 15:00, the Russians attacked the Kupiansk district, village of Prystin. A 38-year-old man was injured as a result of an enemy FPV drone strike.

At 12:00, the Russians attacked the Bohodukhiv district, Zolochiv community, village of Ivashky. A drone-dropped munition damaged the roof of a house, a plastic window, and several apartments.

At 11:00, the Russians attacked the Bohodukhiv district, Zolochiv community, village of Vidrodzhenivske. An FPV drone strike damaged a private residential house and two outbuildings.

Other News

In the past day, 29 people were evacuated from the Kupiansk and Borivske directions, according to the Regional Military Administration (OVA). Around 1,500 people still require evacuation from the right bank of the Kupiansk community, while approximately 120 civilians remain on the left bank.

The Finnish government plans to allocate up to €2 million for energy decentralization in the Kharkiv region. Currently, the region requires more than 40 modular boiler houses, 90 cogeneration units, and over 100 high-capacity generators.

The Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), is rebuilding 37 educational institutions in the region’s communities as part of the international technical assistance program “Restoring Schools in Ukraine.”

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

The Defense Forces repelled 55 Russian assaults in the Pokrovsk sector over the past day near Myrolyubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Pishchane, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, Nadiyivka, Yaseneve, Ulakly, Andriivka, and Dachne, according to the General Staff.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 23 Russian attacks near Novosilka, Rivnopil, Novyi Komar, and in the directions of Konstantynopol and Burlatske.

Shelling

An educational facility was damaged during an airstrike on the Novodmytrivka administrative district in Donetsk region. Russian forces struck the community with a FAB-250 aerial bomb, reported Serhii Horbunov, head of the Konstantynivka Military Administration.

In the morning, Russian troops attacked the Konstantynivka community, hitting the Novodmytrivka district with an FPV drone and launching six airstrikes on the Ivanopillia district and the outskirts of Konstantynivka. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

The previous day, police recorded 3,357 enemy strikes on the frontline and residential areas.

Russian forces shelled eight settlements, including the cities of Konstantynivka, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, and the villages of Zelenyi Hai, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, and Oleksandro-Kalynove.

In Pokrovsk, Russians targeted a civilian car with an FPV drone, killing one person—the vehicle burned down. Additionally, the city was shelled with artillery, injuring one person and damaging one apartment building, one private house, and an administrative building.

In Kostiantynivka, the enemy struck with five bombs, a “Smerch” MLRS, and drones. One resident was injured, and 17 private houses, a tanker truck, and three vehicles were damaged. Russians carried out two FPV drone strikes targeting State Emergency Service workers. Five people were injured: two rescuers, two police officers, and the head of the Kostiantynivka Military Administration. The first drone hit the vehicle of emergency workers delivering water to civilians. The second attacked the evacuation team that arrived to rescue them.

Illinivka was attacked by the occupiers with a “Molniya-1” UAV and an FAB-250 bomb – a civilian was injured, 14 private houses, a civilian car, and a gas pipeline were damaged.

In Ivanopillya, the invaders dropped 5 FAB bombs – damaging 38 private houses, 4 gas pipelines, and 4 power lines.

Lyman was shelled by Russian forces using the “Grad” MLRS – 7 private homes, a garage, a gas pipeline, and the electrical network were damaged. In Oleksandro-Kalinove, three households were damaged.

Additionally, information has been confirmed about the damage caused in Pokrovsk on February 16 – 7 apartment buildings and 1 private house were affected by the shelling.

Other

From Pokrovsk, “White Angel” evacuated a blind woman and her sick son. Another evacuation request came from the most dangerous area, near the frontline. A man and his immobile mother were left in the basement of the last house on the outskirts. “White Angels” delivered them to a hospital in Dobropillia.

The last branch of Nova Poshta in Pokrovsk has been closed. Three people worked there. Until 2022, there were ten branches of the carrier in Pokrovsk. In December of last year, two branches remained, employing 13 workers.

In Yalta, Volnovakha district of Donetsk region, the stamp “Cities of Heroes. Volnovakha” was canceled. The cancellation of the stamp was attended by soldiers of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after General-Mark Colonel Mark Bezruchko, who are defending this direction, – said the CEO of “Ukrposhta” Ihor Smiliansky.

Festive events in the occupied Mariupol are being prepared in schools and kindergartens for the Russian Defender of the Fatherland Day on February 23. Specifically, in one of the kindergartens, children are set to perform to a song about “serving the homeland” and “holding a rifle,” – the city council reported.

Activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” movement have posted announcements urging people to report crimes by the occupiers and resist. Such posters and yellow ribbons appeared on the streets of Donetsk, Zhdanivka, and in the parks of Makiivka.

Luhansk oblast

Russian attacks over the past day were repelled on both the Lyman and Siverskyi fronts, – reported the regional military administration. The occupiers failed to advance either in Bilohorivka or near Hrekivka. The invaders struck our fortifications 13 times with barrel artillery and used 239 drones.

Ukrainian fighters hit a North Korean self-propelled artillery system “Koksan” in Luhansk region, reported the Southern Defense Forces “Khortytsia.”

In Sievierodonetsk, due to a shortage of personnel in the housing and communal services sector, emergency teams from the Russian city of Perm, located almost 2,000 km away, are being brought in to address emergency situations. It is their plumbers who are dealing with the numerous breaks in the heat supply system, which was hastily repaired and put into operation in the middle of the heating season. Workers complain about excessive workload as they are forced to work around the clock.

The occupying authorities continue to announce plans from 2022 regarding the construction of six waste disposal sites in temporarily occupied Luhansk region and neighboring Russian regions. It was expected that these would be located in Luhansk, Sievierodonetsk, Anthracite, Bilokurakyne, Sorokyne, and Sokohirske. However, the last three projects are virtually not mentioned. There is no funding for the construction of sites in Anthracite and Sievierodonetsk, and potential contractors have been advised to look for investors. Currently, according to the occupying administration, sources of funding from the federal budget are being sought for the implementation of only one facility – a waste processing complex in Rodakove near Luhansk.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko reported that the wreckage of a downed russian UAV had fallen in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. The wreckage fell in a non-residential area, and a fire was reported on the territory of an industrial enterprise. Cars in the yard of a nearby residential building were also on fire.

Liquidation of the consequences of the russian strike on the Shelter at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant continues. As of 12.00 a.m. on 18 February, work is underway to partially open the structures and extinguish two smouldering roof insulation areas. Three teams of rescuers are working at the site. The situation is under control.

In the centre of the capital, loudspeakers will be tested on Independence Square and Khreshchatyk Street. Starting from 19 February, they will announce a minute of silence every day at 9:00 a.m.

Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn informed that 29-year-old platoon commander Mykola Davydenko will be buried in Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka. Mykola joined the Armed Forces last year. He was a psychologist by profession, and before joining the service he taught kids to roller skate. The soldier was killed during a combat mission in the Pokrovske area of Donetsk oblast.

The Air Force has published a video about the work of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system unit, which protects Kyiv oblast and the capital from russian ballistic missiles. The unit commander shared his practical experience with Patriot systems, the work of operators and details of training in the United States.

On 16 February, the Art Arsenal in Kyiv hosted a show of Andreas Moskin’s collection inspired by the Executed Renaissance. The designers explored the details of the clothes of the Ukrainian cultural elite of the 20s and 30s, who were killed by the Soviet government. The show was attended by war veterans with amputations, who advised the designers, helping to make the clothes comfortable for people with prostheses. According to the veterans, such events help them return to normal life

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr oblast has actively joined the Ray of Hope initiative. The main goal of the project is to provide hospitals with an alternative energy source and make them energy independent in the face of military challenges. The initiative is implemented jointly by the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. As part of the project, oblast has already received hundreds of solar panels that are being installed in medical facilities in the region.

For the second time since the war, Hryhoriy Yanchenko, a volunteer known on social media as Uncle Hrysha, came to Zhytomyr. Volunteers, drivers and train conductors help him to move around in his wheelchair. The man has been volunteering since 2014 and raising money for drones, starliners and generators for the Ukrainian military.

Sumy oblast

 The State Border Guard Service reported that border guards of ‘Steel Border’ destroyed russian positions towards Sumy using FPV-drones.

On 18 February Operational Command ‘North’ informed that in Hrebenkivtsi, Boromlia community, a cargo vehicle was damaged as a result of a russian strike.

 The Regional Military Administration reported that during the night and morning, the russians carried out 7 shellings of the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. A total of 19 strikes were recorded: artillery (9 explosions), mortars (7 explosions), UAV attack (1 explosion), and VOG grenades dropped from UAVs (2 explosions). The shellings affected Khotin, Yunakivka, Krasnopillia, and Boromlia communities.

On 18 February, anti-aircraft gunners shot down 19 enemy Shahed-type UAVs over Sumy oblast. Since the beginning of 2025, 450 russian drones have been destroyed.

During the past day, the russian military carried out 95 shellings in Sumy oblast. A total of 191 explosions were recorded. On 17 February, the enemy conducted strikes using artillery (35 explosions) and mortars (83 explosions), UAVs (1 explosion), GAB launches (7 explosions), FPV-drone attacks (24 explosions), and dropped VOG grenades from UAVs (42 explosions). One UAV was detected and destroyed in Sumy community.

15 communities were shelled: Sumy, Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Buryn, Putyvl, Nova Slobidka, Esman, Shalyhyne, Khutir-Mykhailivskyi, Seredyna-Buda, and Znob-Novhorod.

Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that as a result of an FPV drone strike on Myropillia community on 17 February, one civilian was injured.

Bomb disposal technicians of Sumy Police neutralized the warhead of a downed russian drone that failed to detonate. The drone was discovered in the area by a Sumy resident. The bomb disposal technicians removed the 50-kilogram fragmentary high-explosive-incendiary warhead and transported the explosive to a safe location for destruction.

In Krolevets community in Sumy oblast, a veteran space ‘Fortress of the Unbreakable’ has been opened. The project was implemented with the technical administration of ISAR Ednannia and the support of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, financial support of the European Union provided within the project ‘EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine,’ and the Government of the Kingdom of  Netherlands.

Chernihiv oblast

On 17 February, russian forces targeted a local fire department unit in Novhorod-Siverskyi region. Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that a total of six drops from drones were recorded. As a result of the strikes, the unit’s premises and a service car were damaged. According to the State Emergency Service of the oblast, the russians attacked the village of Hremiach.

On 17 February, fighters of the 119th Territorial Defense Brigade shot down a russian cruise missile that was heading towards Chernihiv oblast. As reported by Civil Protection and Defense Department of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, the russian X-59 missile was shot down on ‘Chernihiv-Kyiv’ highway near the village of Ladynka. The debris fell on the highway and damaged a truck, but no people were injured.

During the past day, 17 February, the russian army attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy used mortars (10 explosions), FPV-drones (8 explosions), and dropped VOG grenades from UAVs (17 explosions). According to Chernihiv Border Detachment, nine villages came under fire.

On 14 February, three servicemen from the Mine Action Center in Chernihiv oblast were killed in a terrorist attack in Mykolaiv: Vadym Yeliseiev, Olena Kliuchnikova, and Yevhenii Siryk.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Late in the evening, the occupiers shelled Marhanets community in Nikopol region 3 times by artillery. According to updated information, a 55-year-old woman was injured in yesterday’s kamikaze drone strike on a gas station in Chervonohryhorivka community. Doctors provided her with the necessary medical assistance. In Nikopol, a private house, an outbuilding and a car were damaged due to the attack.

In the evening, air defence forces were active in the oblast, shooting down 2 enemy UAVs. Another enemy reconnaissance drone was destroyed later.

During the day, the enemy launched more than 15 attacks on Nikopol region by kamikaze drones, artillery and dropping munitions from UAVs. The attacks targeted the regional centre, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka and Myrove communities, causing a fire and damaging high-rise buildings, 5 private houses, 2 outbuildings, businesses and a truck.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that 5 new pickup trucks were handed over to the 59th Separate Assault Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk. The vehicles will be used for combat missions in Donetsk oblast.

An Alley of Glory of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine was opened in Khmilnyk. The alley features 124 portraits of soldiers who laid down their lives for the freedom of Ukraine.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that an enemy drone struck a high-rise building in Dolynska, Kirovohrad oblast. 3 people were injured: a father, a mother and a child. The father and mother suffered first-degree thermal burns on the neck and back. The father received medical aid and was released home. Their 4-year-old son suffered a hand burn. The mother and son were also discharged after treatment. Residents of 38 apartments were evacuated. The police classified the drone strike as a war crime and included it in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations. 

Poltava oblast

Ukrainian soldiers from Poltava and Khorol were killed in action defending Ukraine: Junior Lieutenant Maksym Perehuda killed on 18 December 2023, during a russian assault on Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka; Vadym Pavlenko killed on 6 February 2025, while on a combat mission near Rozdolne, Volnovakha region, Donetsk oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

A night of almost 6 hours of alert and multiple aerial threats. Air defence forces were actively engaged, destroying 26 russian UAVs in the oblast. A downed Shahed drone caused damage in Cherkasy oblast. 4 houses, a garage and a car were damaged by debris. Nearly 100 windows were shattered in buildings. 2 buildings had their roofs completely destroyed. People are currently clearing the debris at the site.

In Cherkasy, residents paid tribute to fallen defender Yevhen Demianchuk. He was killed in action on 19 January during a combat mission in Sumy oblast.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, reported that the russian military targeted a civilian vehicle by an FPV drone in Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia oblast. The driver was unharmed.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in Orikhiv region, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 2 russian attacks near Shcherbaky and Nesteryanka.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, said that an 80-year-old man was killed in a russian attack on Orikhiv. His body was found today under the rubble of his home. The shelling caused destruction and a fire in the private house where the elderly man lived.

On 17 February, the russian military launched 398 strikes on 9 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast, including 230 drone attacks of various types on Zaporizhzhia, Piatykhatky, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria and Novodarivka.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to the RMA, on the night of 18 February, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 2 Shahed-131/136 attack drones over Mykolaiv oblast. Earlier, the russian military shelled Kutsurub community and attacked the coastline of Ochakiv by drones.

Odesa oblast

Based on the information provided by the Ukrainian Air Force, at around 8pm, an air raid alert was declared in the oblast due to a ballistic missile threat from Crimea.

Kherson oblast

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the russian military shelled Vesele village by artillery, wounding a 62-year-old woman in the leg.

The RMA reported that a 53-year-old man was injured in a russian drone attack on the suburb of Kherson, in Kindiika. He is in moderate condition.

The russian forces attacked Sadove village by artillery, causing a 63-year-old man to suffer a blast injury and a head contusion.

Roman Mrochko, Head of the CMA, said that a 62-year-old man was severely wounded in a russian drone attack on Kindiika. He was hospitalised in critical condition.

According to the State Emergency Service, a civilian car caught fire overnight due to russian shelling on Kherson. Emergency services quickly extinguished the fire.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, informed that at night, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 2 Shahed-131/136 drones over Kherson oblast.

The RMA reported that on 18 February, a 42-year-old man was attacked by a russian drone in Vesele. Today, he was hospitalised with a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his leg.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, stated that on 18 February, russian forces shelled 32 settlements in Kherson oblast, damaging an Invisibility centre, a high-rise building, 9 private houses and several cars. 8 civilians were injured.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade received a Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck and 2 DJI Mavic 3T Enterprise Thermal quadcopters from Lutsk community.

The RMA held a meeting with family members of deceased serviceman Oleh Danko. The Hero’s relatives were presented with the III degree For Courage Order (posthumously).

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod City Council and Zakarpattia Sports Events NGO signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at the development of sports and physical culture in the city. In addition, a charity race was planned for 12 April to raise funds to support the 15th Separate Mountain Assault Battalion of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Another meeting was held in the city of Dolyna with families of the fallen Heroes. During the meeting, key issues of social protection for the families of the fallen were discussed. Some problems were resolved on the spot, while others required additional work and coordination.

Lviv oblast

Last year, UAH 46m was allocated for the needs of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of Halicia within the framework of the regional program. This allowed the purchase of various types of drones and their components, electronic warfare equipment, training ground equipment, repair of weapons and military equipment and purchase equipment for their transportation.

The RMA reported that the oblast sent 30 FPV drones to military units thanks to the regional Competitiveness Enhancement Program.

11-year-old Roman Terlych is a 5th grade student at Yevshan gymnasium. In December, he won the Quests and Tests Olympiad and received the main prize of UAH 50,000. But the student did not keep these funds for himself, but donated all the winnings to a drone for the Ukrainian military.

Rivne oblast

Rivne oblast continues to support business in wartime. This year we have 3 regional programs, which provide UAH 14.4m in funding. This is 21% over in 2024.

Ternopil oblast

In Ternopil, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the facade of the Economic Lyceum to its graduate Oleksandr Osadko, defender of the Airborne Assault Troops. Oleksandr was killed on 9 July, 2022 in Donetsk oblast.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that the military received 2 SUVs, a minibus, and autonomous heaters thanks to the Faith of the Nation CF.

Chernivtsi oblast

With the assistance of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Olena Zelenska Foundation, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) donated 2 FORD TRANSIT 410L (4640) ambulances worth UAH 7m to Chernivtsi Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

On 17 February 2025, a meeting of European leaders on security issues was held in Paris, initiated by Emmanuel Macron, French President. Key conclusions of the meeting:

  • The EU supports the “peace through strength” approach proposed by Trump.
  • A ceasefire agreement without a full-fledged peace treaty is dangerous (lesson from the Minsk agreements).
  • The European Union is ready to provide Ukraine with security guarantees, terms of which will be agreed separately, depending on US support.

On 17 February 2025, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. What the agreement provides for:

  • 99% of Ukrainian goods will receive full access to the UAE market.
  • Simplified access to markets, removal of barriers to business.
  • Export growth in the metallurgy, food industry, and oil production sectors.
  • Elimination of tariffs on digital trade, protection of personal data.

Germany announced another package of military aid to Ukraine. The package included:

  • 56 MRAP armored vehicles;
  • ammunition for Leopard 1 tanks;
  • ammunition for Marder;
  • 41,000 rounds of ammunition for GEPARD;
  • missiles for IRIS-T SLM;
  • rockets for IRIS-T SLS;
  • 4 wheeled howitzers Zuzana 2;
  • 50,000 155 mm artillery shells;
  • 2,000 122 mm artillery shells;
  • 300 HF-1 attack UAVs;
  • 51 VECTOR reconnaissance UAVs;
  • 245 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance UAVs;
  • 29 SONGBIRD reconnaissance UAVs;
  • 14 HORNET XR reconnaissance UAVs;
  • 2 WISENT 1 armored engineering vehicles with spare parts;
  • 16 mine trawlers;
  • 645 laser rangefinders;
  • 8 border vehicles;
  • 74,000 40 mm shells;
  • 100 MG5 machine guns;
  • 2,915 HK 416 assault rifles
  • 900 MK 556 assault rifles;
  • 64 HLR 338 high-precision rifles and 314,000 rounds of ammunition;
  • 150 CR 308 rifles;
  • 73 AK-47 assault rifles
  • over 60m pistol cartridges;
  • 27,800 wool blankets;
  • 14,000 sleeping bags;
  • 37,200 harnesses.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President, met with Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President Recep. They discussed the strategic partnership between the countries, steps that need to be taken to further strengthen cooperation, as well as recent events in Ukraine and other regional and global issues.
