On 16 September, russian forces continue to assault the positions of Ukrainian defenders. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defense Forces disrupt the enemy’s plans, inflicting significant losses in personnel and equipment.
There were 99 engagements on the front line.
Border settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts suffered from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian federation. russian artillery hit Vovkivka, Nova Sloboda, Velyka Berezka, Porokhon, and Hremyach. The invaders also carried out airstrikes in the vicinity of Shalyhyne, Nova Sloboda, Richky, and Novomykolaivka, dropping 11 air bombs. Furthermore, the enemy dropped 15 russian KAB bombs towards Kursk region of russia today.
Towards Kupiansk, russian launched seven assault actions near Synkivka and Lozova. Three combat engagements ended, while four were still ongoing.
Towards Lyman, russian army attacked 18 times in the vicinity of Hrekivka, Druzheliubivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Lozova, Bilohorivka and Serebrianka forest. Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 attacks, and six more were still underway. The enemy also conducted airstrikes in Novoiehorivka and Kucherivka.
Towards Siversk, the invaders unsuccessfully attacked once during the day near Ivano-Darivka.
Towards Kramatorsk, russians launched four assault actions. The Defense Forces stopped two attacks near Chasiv Yar, and two more were ongoing near Vasiukivka.
Towards Toretsk, russians attacked 12 times near Druzhba, Toretsk and Zalizne. Nine combat engagements ended without success for the invaders, while three continued. Shcherbynivka suffered from enemy airstrikes, with nine KAB bombs dropped today.
Towards Pokrovsk, russians made 24 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the vicinity of Vozdvyzhenka, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Marynivka, and Krasnyi Yar. The Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks, and four engagements were ongoing. Enemy losses were being clarified.
The hottest today was towards Kurakhove, where russians attacked 26 times towards Ukrainsk, Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Pershe, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka and Katerynivka. Nineteen battles ended, and seven were still ongoing.
Towards Vremivka, russians attacked Ukrainian positions five times near Vuhledar, Katerynivka, Vodiane, and Kostiantynivka. Two russian assaults were repelled, and three combat engagements continued.
Towards Orikhiv, russians continued to shell Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure, launching airstrikes.
Towards Kherson, russian invaders twice tried to displace Ukrainian units from their positions but faced fierce resistance and suffered losses.

Denmark’s Defense Minister, Troels Lund Poulsen, reported that eighteen domestically produced Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems were handed over to the Defense Forces. Denmark funded the production of these systems. They were delivered within two months of the order from Ukrainian manufacturers. Producing and maintaining weapons in Ukraine was much cheaper than buying them from the West. Denmark was the first EU country to allocate funds for purchasing weapons and military equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine’s Prime Minister, reported that over 900,000 Ukrainians received mobilisation deferrals, but the government allowed the possibility of increasing the number of deferrals.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
The General Staff reported that russia launched the most attacks towards Kurakhove yesterday. There were 143 attacks in the east in total.
Towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian troops repelled 36 attacks towards Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretske, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Marynivka and Mykhailivka.
Towards Kurakhove, the Defence Forces repelled 42 attacks. The occupiers were most actively trying to advance near Kostiantynivka and Heorhiivka. In addition, russian troops attacked towards Ukrainsk, Dolyna, Katerynivka, Selydove and Zhelanne Druhe.
Kharkiv oblast
The General Staff reported that as of 4pm there were four battles towards Kupiansk. Also russia is attacking near Synkivka and Lozova.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, informed that a woman was wounded as a result of enemy shelling of Kupiansk.
Kharkiv police reported that at around 10:30am, russia shelled Petropavlivka in Kupiansk region. As a result of the hit, a house burned down, an 8-year-old boy and two women aged 24 and 50, a 77-year-old man and two women aged 76 and 50 sustained explosive wounds. A 74-year-old man died.
At 5:30am, Pisky-Radkivski village of Borova community, Izium region, was attacked. As a result of the shelling, a warehouse caught fire. A 76-year-old woman was injured.
At 8:35pm, there was attack outside of Stohnii village of Zolochiv community, Bohodukhiv region. Grass was burning on the area of 10 hectares.
At 6:05pm, Kupiansk was shelled. A car was hit by an FPV drone.
At 4pm, Kuipansk was targeted. 3 hits of an unmanned aerial vehicle were recorded in the town and 4 hits on the northern outskirts of the town. One man and two women were wounded.
At 3:55pm, Shyikivka village of Borova commmunity, Izium region, was attacked. As a result of the shelling the grass was burning on the area of 500 sq m.
At 3:42pm, Ruska Lozova village of Kharkiv region was attacked. As a result of the shelling the grass on the area of 1 hectare and the farm were burning.
At 3:30pm, Nemyshlianskyi district was attacked. A 12-storey residential building was hit. 22 apartment buildings were damaged, about 1,500 windows were smashed. 20 cars were damaged. 43 people, including 4 children, were injured. 14 people were hospitalised as a result of the shelling of Kharkiv. Among them are two children, one in critical condition. A 70-year-old man is also in a critical condition in hospital. A 94-year-old woman was killed. It was impossible to identify her immediately as her body was almost completely burnt, and DNA testing was arranged.
The State Emergency Service rescued a man and his dog from an apartment building that had been hit by a russian drone. Oleksandr was in his apartment on the 12th floor when the russians hit. He was the first to tie his dog to the ropes during the rescue, and later evacuated himself.

The regional State Emergency Service reported that emergency rescue operations have resumed at the site of the russian missile hit in Nemyshlianskyi district this morning.
The regional power company said this morning that utility companies have restored power to an apartment building in Kharkiv that was hit by russians yesterday.
At 3:30pm, Verkhnii Saltiv village of Staryi Saltiv community, Chuhuiv region, was hit . A house, an outbuilding and grass on the area of 10 hectares were burning as a result of the shelling.
At 2:10pm, Verbivka village of Balakliia community, Izium region, was attacked. As a result of the shelling two outbuildings and grass on the area of 10 hectares were burning.
At 2:02pm, Tsyrkuny village of Kharkiv region was attacked. Two outbuildings, a non-operational shop, a non-operational petrol station and grass on the area of 7 hectares were burning. The shop, a hangar, a metal container and an outbuilding were destroyed.
At 1:10pm, an open area in Kindrashivka village of Kupianskregion was hit. As a result of the shelling, the grass was burning on the area of 5 hectares.
At 12:05pm, Senkove village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region, was attacked. A residential building and outbuildings were burning as a result of the shelling.
At 11:37am, Kurylivka village of Kupiansk regioon was targeted. As a result of the shelling, grass was burning on the area of 1 hectare.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy attempted to attack once near Vovchansk. Moreover, enemy aircraft attacked residential areas and civilian infrastructure in Kharkiv and Ruska Lozova with precision-guided missiles.
Towards Kupiansk, there were 20 enemy attacks yesterday. Defence forces repelled the enemy’s assault near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka, Hlushkivka, Kruhliakivka and Lozova.
The city council said that on 16 September, traffic will be forbidden on a part of Olimpiiska Street in Kharkiv from 8:30am to 5pm to eliminate the consequences of the russian shelling of the Sports Palace.
The State Emergency Service said that more than 294 hectares of natural ecosystems burned down yesterday, 90 of them as a result of fires started by russian shelling.
A memorial plaque to the fallen SES employees was unveiled on 16 September on Liubov Mala Avenue in Kharkiv. On 4 April, Serhii Baidalinov, Vladyslav Lohinov and Volodymyr Matiushenko responded to a call after a russian Shahed strike and began to rescue people when the russians struck again.
Donetsk oblast
Vitalii Milovidov, an officer with the 15th Operational Brigade of the Kara-Dah National Guard, reported that russian troops are changing their tactics towards Pokrovsk, particularly near Selydove. Previously, they were attacking with infantry, using the tactic of “meat assaults”, but now they are going around the settlements, trying to cut them off.
The press service of Donetsk police confirmed that yesterday one person was killed and seven injured, including a child.
During the day, russia launched 2,295 attacks on the frontline and residential areas. 9 settlements were under attack: Lyman, Mykolaivka, Pokrovsk, Siversk, Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, Kleban-Byk, Rozdolne and Shevchenko.
58 civilian objects were damaged, including 43 residential buildings, a shopping centre, an educational institution, garages, outbuildings, cars and critical infrastructure.
The russians struck Pokrovsk nine times, killing a civilian and wounding three others, damaging an apartment block and two private houses, utility facilities and garages. As a result of the shelling, critical infrastructure facilities were damaged, and several neighbourhoods of the city were cut off from electricity.
The occupiers dropped two UMPB D-30 SN guided missiles on Mykolaivka, injuring three civilians, including a five-year-old girl. Five apartment buildings, a shopping centre and the power grid were damaged.

One person was injured as a result of shelling of Chasiv Yar.
Also russian troops struck Siversk with three KAB-250 bombs with an UMPB module, damaging 22 private houses.
In Rozdolne, a KAB-250 bomb with an UMPK module damaged 5 private houses and an educational institution. In Shevchenko village 4 private houses were damaged.
The enemy attacked Lyman yesterday and today at around 5am three private houses, outbuildings and a garage were destroyed. An apartment building and a car were damaged in Kleban-Byk.
In addition, two civilians were injured as a result of explosions of explosive devices towards Lyman community: Drobysheve settlement and Shchurove village.
Information was received about the death of two civilians in Bohoiavlenka, who were killed during russian shelling on 14 September.
While extinguishing a fire in Krasnyi Lyman forestry, a tractor driver of the forestry hit an anti-tank mine.

Head CMA head Serhii Chaus said that since the beginning of the week, about ten people have been evacuated from Chasiv Yar. Currently, 470 people remain in the town.
Sievierodonetsk CMA reported that on 12 September, an International Committee of the Red Cross worker, who was an IDP from Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk oblast, was killed in the shelling of Viroliubivka village. He will be buried in Dnipro on 16 September.
Luhansk oblast
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said that the enemy increased the number of attacks in Luhansk oblast. Near Nevske and Makiivka they used 116 unmanned aerial vehicles. They attacked these villages with rocket and cannon artillery. Specifically, the occupiers fired three times at Nevske from multiple rocket launchers. Enemy aircraft were attacking Serebrianka forest and Tverdokhlibove.
The occupiers stormed the positions of the Defence Forces near Kovalivka, Tverdokhlibove, Nevske, Makiivka and Bilohorivka.
In the so-called “lpr”, russia has not provided enough equipment to fight fires over the 10 years of occupation. Also russians are in no hurry to help and there are about 60 fire hotspots in Rostov region alone. The flames are likely spreading from there, as most of the fires in the occupied Luhansk oblast occurred near the border with russia. Even the infrastructure of the Izvaryne checkpoint caught on fire. The fire also engulfed industrial facilities and settlements.
Without waiting for the water supply systems to be repaired, residents of settlements destroyed by russia are forced to drill wells to get water. More and more often, they come across mine water, which is not pumped out in the so-called “lpr”. There have already been numerous cases of poisoning from such water.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, reported that at night, russians massively attacked Kyiv oblast with drones. Air defence forces were deployed, the enemy targets destroyed.
No hits to residential or critical infrastructure were detected. A woman was injured as a result of falling debris from the downed targets. She was hospitalised in one of the medical institutions and is being provided with all necessary assistance. 5 cars and 5 private houses were damaged. Doors and windows were smashed, facades and roofs were cut. Grass and forest flooring caught fire in four districts. All fires have been extinguished.
Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration also informed that the readiness of Kyiv oblast for the heating season has reached almost 90%. First of all, boiler houses, heating networks, residential buildings, schools, kindergartens and hospitals are being prepared. Water supply and sewage networks, pumping stations are being repaired, fuel is being procured, stocks of sprinkling material are being made, and specialised cleaning equipment is being prepared.
The RMA announced that a training session for the tutors of the all-Ukrainian military-patriotic game Sokil Dzhura was held in Kyiv oblast. The participant team included more than 30 representatives of territorial communities, educators in the field of strengthening Ukrainian national and civic identity, and representatives of the Sokil Dzhura community. The event was organised by the Department of Youth and Sports of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Kyiv Regional Youth Centre in partnership with the Department of Education and Science of Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the Centre for Creativity of Children and Youth of Kyiv oblast.
Zhytomyr oblast
Zhytomyr Regional State Administration reported that Kurne community took part in the project “Firefighters. Strengthening the Capacity of Ukrainian Communities through the Development of Volunteer Fire Brigades”, implemented with the financial support of the Polish Development Cooperation Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, as well as the Office of the US Coordinator for Europe and Eurasia within the 10th round of the Development Cooperation Partnership Programme. This issue is very relevant for Kurne community, as the project established the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Kurne Community NGO. The team will soon receive ammunition and equipment for its members, as well as a fire truck. In addition, the construction of a fire depot is underway, which is planned to become not only a base for vehicles, but also a place of cultural and social leisure for firefighters.
Dmytro Rohozhyn, Director of Zhytomyrteplocomunenerho, announced that Zhytomyr is preparing for the heating season. All children’s, school, pre-school and medical institutions are fully prepared for the heating season. One of the largest heating networks is currently undergoing major repairs. It supplies heat to residential buildings, a polyclinic and a kindergarten.
Sumy oblast
During night and morning, russians carried out 13 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 25 explosions. The attacks targeted Khotin, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Nova Slobidka, Shalyhyne, Velyka Pysarivka communities.
During the day, 15 September, russians carried out 43 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 103 explosions. The attacks targeted Myropilia, Yunakivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Krasnopillia, Esman, Bilopillia, Druzhbivka, Lebedyn, Nova Slobidka, Seredyna-Buda, Shalyhyne, Khotin, Hlukhiv and Putyvl communities.

The Ministry of Energy reported that in Sumy oblast, as a result of attacks by the russian army, 1,400 subscribers across five settlements have been left without electricity. In total, 10,800 subscribers in 110 settlements remain without power. However, energy workers managed to restore power to more than 20,000 subscribers in the past day.
Chernihiv oblast
Throughout the day, 15 September, russian forces attacked four villages in two border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Snovsk, Semenivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi communities using mortars, barrel artillery, attacked with drones and dropped explosives from drones. A total of 20 explosions were reported.
Novhorod-Siverskyi community:
Towards Hremiach: 4 hits, likely explosive devices dropped by UAVs and 3 hits, likely by FPV-drones.
Semenivka community:
Towards Prohres: 6 hits, likely by barrel artillery.
Towards Halahanivka: 1 hit, likely explosive devices dropped by UAVs
Snovsk community:
Towards Yeline: 6 hits, likely by a 120mm mortar.
No casualties or injuries among the local population were reported as a result of the shelling.
Chernihiv police reported that police have evacuated six elderly residents from the border village of Mykolaivka in Semenivka community. 30 houses in the village have been either destroyed or damaged due to russian shelling. Law enforcement, together with local authorities, helped arrange transportation for their belongings, assisted with loading, and escorted the evacuees to a safe location.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
In the evening, the occupiers attacked Nikopol and Marhanets community with kamikaze drones. Later in the night, they shelled the district centre with artillery. There were no casualties.
At night, the defenders of the sky destroyed six enemy Shaheds in the oblast.
In the morning, on 16 September, the enemy attacked Marhanets community in Nikopol region twice. They used artillery and dropped ammunition from a drone. There were no casualties.
Vinnytsia oblast
Parts of a russian X-101 missile were neutralised in a field in Vinnytsia oblast. In addition, during the inspection of the surrounding area, law enforcement officers found cluster munitions, which were also defused on the spot.
At night, air defence was operating in Vinnytsia oblast. An attack UAV was destroyed. There were no casualties or damage.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad RMA, reported that air defence systems were operating in Kirovohrad oblast during the air alert. There were no casualties or damage.
Kirovohrad oblast lost two soldiers in the war with russia. They are Anton Bronnikov from Zavallivka community and Yurii Samborskyi from Hurovka community. The soldiers were killed while performing a combat mission towards Donetsk.
Poltava oblast
Roman Istomin, Spokesman for Poltava regional territorial recruitment and social support centers, said that a 31-year-old soldier Yevhen Malik, a native of Poltava, was returned from russian captivity. The marine was captured 2.5 years ago in Mariupol.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that at night, on 16 September, nine attack drones were shot down over Cherkasy oblast. There were no casualties or damage.
In Cherkasy, Yaroslav Strilets was met with a “human corridor” on a shield. At the age of 19, he went to the front as a volunteer. Prior to that, he had built a successful sports career – he became a two-time world champion and multiple champion of Ukraine in pankration. He was killed in action on 10 September 2024.
Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that a powerful tranche of support was transferred to Cherkasy rescuers. It is worth more than UAH 3.3m. 44 local and voluntary fire brigades operating in the region received the reinforcement. The firefighting kits contain the most essential items. From special suits to fire blankets. In total, there are about a dozen items that firefighters need in their work. This large-scale assistance was received from the Red Cross Society in Ukraine.
Oleksandr Pakholiuk, Director of the MHP-Hromada Charitable Foundation, announced that UAH 659,000 was raised during a charity race in Cherkasy. These funds will be used for the needs of the 118th separate territorial defence brigade.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, the occupiers launched 145 attacks on 11 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces carried out an airstrike on Novoandriivka. 69 UAVs of various modifications attacked Kamianske, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Chervone, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Poltavka. Three MLRS strikes targeted Novoandriivka, Huliaipole and Mala Tokmachka. There were 72 artillery shellings on the territory of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Poltavka and Preobrazhenka. There were six reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure.
According to the General Staff, the occupiers attacked towards Novodarivka. The enemy continues to shell our troops’ positions and civilian infrastructure, launching airstrikes towards Orikhiv.
According to Berdiansk Border Guard Unit, on 16 September, border guards neutralised 13 russian FPV drones in Zaporizhzhia oblast.
About 170 women in Zaporizhzhia oblast obtained driver’s licences for category C and higher since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The licences allow them to operate heavy-duty vehicles and transport more passengers. According to Ruslan Naumchak, Deputy Head of the MIA service centre, out of over 20,000 drivers who obtained licences during the full-scale war, nearly half are women.
Mykolaiv oblast
On the night of 16 September, air defence forces shot down one Shahed-136/131 UAV in Mykolaiv oblast.
Yesterday, on 15 September, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community three times with FPV drones. As a result of the shelling a car and a minibus were damaged, and two people were injured in the village of Dmytrivka. Also, on 15 September at 3:34pm and again at 1:47am on the night of 16 September, the enemy carried out artillery shelling on the waters of Ochakiv community. No casualties were reported.
Odesa oblast
As of 6am on 16 September, one carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to 4 missiles was present in the Black Sea. There were 5 enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, 4 of which were carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to 32 missiles.
Over the past day, 12 vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interest, and 11 ships entered the Sea of Azov.
Kherson oblast
Two people died due to explosive detonations in Kherson oblast. An unknown explosive device went off in a barn in the village of Posad-Pokrovske, resulting in fatal injuries to a 14-year-old boy. Additionally, a 45-year-old man triggered an unidentified explosive device in Odradokamianka, which caused fatal injuries, leading to his death at the scene.
Yesterday, russian forces shelled Kherson, Komyshany, Sadove, Zelenivka, Kizomys, Novooleksandrivka, Mykhailivka, Ukrainka and Dudchany. The attacks damaged six private and two multi-apartment buildings, five cars, agricultural equipment, and a farm structure. Six people were injured due to russian aggression.
Later, Kherson Regional Military Administration reported another victim. A 58-year-old man was struck by a russian drone several days ago in Kherson. He was diagnosed with an explosive trauma and shrapnel wounds to his shoulder.
It is reported that russian invaders attacked Ukrainian positions eight times on the Prydniprovskyi front. Confirmed losses of enemy personnel over the past day amount to 39. Two ammunition storage sites, a fuel and lubricants depot, a UAV launch site, two bunkers, a firing position, and a generator were also hit.
Throughout last week, a mobile medical team from the Fortitude UA charity provided assistance to over 670 residents of Vysokopillia, Topolyne, Fedorivka, Olhyne, Potiomkyne, Mariine, Blahodatne and Zarichne. Patients received free consultations from a family doctor, neurologist, ophthalmologist, and cardiologist, and could undergo necessary examinations.
The United Nations World Food Program and the charity ADRA Ukraine continue to support those receiving treatment and their rescuers. Volunteers distribute nearly 700 loaves of bread weekly.
Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine
Volyn oblast
Volyn Scientific Lyceum received a generator. Today, 224 students study at the lyceum, and the available gasoline 6.5kW generator barely covered the needs of the kitchen in the hours of no electricity. In addition, the cold season is approaching, so the boiler room will need alternative power. The lyceum was able to provide a generator in cooperation with the Swedish Aid Center CF.
Zakarpattia oblast

65 soldiers who were wounded at the front will receive assistance in the amount of UAH 2,930,000 from the city budget. Since the beginning of the year, such payment has been allocated for 460 wounded soldiers in the amount of UAH 22,60,000.
Lviv oblast
The RMA held a meeting with Pierre Heilbronn, special envoy of the President of France for emergency aid and reconstruction of Ukraine. They discussed possible areas of cooperation with Lviv.
The Medical and Psychological Assistance volunteer community stated Over the past week, another 196 people were evacuated from the front-line areas to Lviv oblast, 62 of them needed the support of volunteers, and another 46 were people with reduced mobility.
Rivne oblast
Rivne received 25 pieces of equipment (four-wheel drive cars, buses, fire engines and an excavator), worth $1m from Finland.
Ternopil oblast
Tyler and Nikki Chey from the US are running the Don’t Can’t for Ukraine marathon to draw the world’s attention to the events in Ukraine. The couple reached Ternopil, where they were joined by representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine, who ran a symbolic distance of 5km. In total, the couple will cover 1,200km and finish the marathon in Zaporizhzhia.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Since the beginning of 2024, Khmelnytskyi community has sent almost 5,300 FPV drones to the Defense Forces thanks to the budget funds.
Chernivtsi oblast
National selection of war veterans for the international competition for veterans Strong Spirit’s Games took place at the Bukovel ski resort. The event, which was attended by 139 veterans from 20 oblasts of Ukraine, was organised by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and the Strongman Federation of Ukraine.

Ukraine will receive another batch of F-16 fighter jets from Denmark before the end of the year. Troels Lund Poulsen, Danish Defense Minister, added that the exact date and number of aircraft in the new deliveries remain classified for reasons of operational security.
Latvia will send the British CVR(T) armoured vehicles, which it previously purchased from Britain, to Ukraine. Andris Spruds, Latvian Defense Minister, said that the procurement of new infantry fighting vehicles to replace the CVR(T) is in the final stages. These machines are necessary for rearming the Latvian army and participating in tactical operations.
A checkpoint is being modernised on the Ukrainian-Slovak border. The Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine presented the visualisation of the reconstruction project of the checkpoint Uzhhorod – Vyshnye-Niemetske. To increase the capacity of the checkpoint, 1 lane will be built for passenger buses and 4 for cars entering and leaving Ukraine. Within the scope of cooperation with the Economic Support of Ukraine USAID Project, a number of measures have already been taken to arrange and modernise the infrastructure at automobile checkpoints, specifically at the border with Slovakia.
