War in Ukraine today: latest news, 14 June, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 842nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 14 June, most of the fighting occurred towards Pokrovsk. At the same time, during the day, the invaders also did not stop trying to break through Ukrainian defences towards Kupiansk and Kurakhove. The number of combat clashes along the entire front line increased to 71. 

Towards Kupiansk, the number of combat clashes increased to nine. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled eight attacks, and one more continues in the vicinity of Pishchane. 

Towards  Lyman, russian occupiers are active. The number of combat clashes was seven. The enemy continues to put pressure on Ukrainian defense in the vicinity of Hrekivka and Nevske – two clashes continue. 

Towards Siversk, three attempts by the invaders to improve their tactical position near Rozdolivka were repelled.  

Towards Pokrovsk, the situation remains tense. There were 24 combat clashes here. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 14 attacks, ten are still ongoing. Fighting is currently taking place in the vicinity of Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Sokil and Novopokrovske.

Towards Kurakhove, the situation remains extremely tense. The total number of attacks increased to 15. The Defense Forces of Ukraine successfully repelled 12 assaults by the russian invaders. Near Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka, the enemy does not give up hope to improve the tactical position. It operates with the support of armoured vehicles, yet suffering losses. Preliminarily, Ukrainian soldiers wounded 60 and eliminated 36 occupiers. Two enemy tanks, an armoured combat vehicle, two cars and a ground UAV control station were destroyed. Three enemy cars and four tanks were damaged.

Units of the Defense Forces courageously restrain enemy attempts to advance deep into the territory of Ukraine, inflict fire damage on the occupiers and deplete it along the entire front line.

The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War informs that 254 fallen defenders were returned. Representatives of law enforcement agencies and forensic experts are establishing the identities of the dead. 

 The Financial Times states that announcements about the adoption of 4 abducted Ukrainian children appeared on the russian website. Journalists found children between the ages of 8 and 15 in a russian database of orphans for adoption.

 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff, towards Kupiansk, the number of combat engagements increased to nine: eight attacks were repelled by the Defence Forces, one is ongoing in the area of Pishchane. Towards Kharkiv, according to the latest data as of 4pm, Ukrainian troops repelled two russian assaults near Tykhe and Vovchansk.

 

Nazar Voloshyn, Spokesman of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, reported that about 4,000 russians were killed and injured in Kharkiv axis between 10 May and 10 June. According to him, the Ukrainian Defence Forces also destroyed and damaged 52 tanks, 59 armoured combat vehicles, 165 artillery systems, 6 air defence systems, 425 dugouts/shelters, and 37 ammunition depots over the month.

 

Svitlana Horbunova-Ruban, Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv, at the War and Human Rights Forum, said that as of 14 June, Kharkiv is home to 200,000 IDPs. According to her, since 8 May, Kharkiv has received almost 10,000 residents of the frontline areas.

 

Yevhenii Koliada, Head of the Coordination Humanitarian Centre, informed that groups are currently being set up in Kharkiv oblast to join forces to help evacuate people with limited mobility and people leaving with animals. According to him, as of 14 June, 12,748 people live in dormitories and temporary accommodation.

 

Since 10 September 2022, 40,000 people have been evacuated from de-occupied and frontline communities in Kharkiv oblast.

 

The press service of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office informed about a couple rescued from the rubble in Bohuslavka, Izium region: at around 3pm, russians dropped an aerial bomb on their house. According to the press service, the man and woman were injured and are being treated.

 

The part of a multi-storey building on Liubov Malaya Street in Kharkiv, destroyed by a missile strike, has been mothballed. On 31 May, russians fired five missiles at this area of the city: 9 people were killed and 26 injured.

 

The strikes damaged 40 multi-storey and private buildings. 

 

The day before, at 02:48pm, Hlushkivka village, Kurylivka territorial community ,Kupiansk region, suffered. The private houses and a car started to burn as a result of the shelling.

 

At 01:22pm, Kupiansk Vuzlovyi village of Kupiansk community,  Kupiansk region, suffered. As a result of the airstrike, houses were damaged. 

 

On 13 June, at 5:30pm, as a result of the shelling of Staryi Saltiv village, Chuhuiv region,  the roofs and windows of a dozen houses were damaged.

 

At 4:50pm, the city of Kupiansk was shelled. As a result of shelling from an FPV drone, a regular bus carrying 15 civilians, a police car, a civilian car, a café, and residential buildings were damaged. A civilian man was injured.  

 

At 4:35pm, Starosaltiv community and the village of Khotimlia of Chuhuiv region were shelled. As a result of the shelling, the boathouse and the boat were on fire.

 

At 4:30pm, the occupiers shelled the village of Buhaivka, Chuhuiv region. As a result of the airstrike, a private house was damaged. A man was injured and hospitalized.

 

 

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy attacked four times near Hlyboke, Tykhe and Vovchansk. Three assault actions of the aggressor were successfully repelled by Ukrainian defenders. The battle continues in the vicinity of Vovchansk. The situation is under control.

 

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy made four attempts to push back Ukrainian units from their positions in the vicinity of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Stelmakhivka and Berestove, yet without success. There were no losses of positions and territories.

 

Since 10 May, 11,822 people have been evacuated from Chuhuiv, Kharkiv, and Bohodukhiv regions .

 

Donetsk oblast

Towards Pokrovsk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a convoy of russian equipment. Soldiers of the 68th Jaeger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush reported on the website that they burned 8 tanks and 8 infantry fighting vehicles of the russian army.

 

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, informed that during the day, russian troops struck Hirnyk and Zarichne. Two people were injured.

 

Mariupol City Council stated that a tanker entered the port of temporarily occupied city for the first time in two years. It is likely to be used to provide fuel to the russian military.

 

The regional police said that yesterday the russian army shelled 10 settlements in Donetsk oblast, damaging 57 objects, including 36 private houses. Specifically, they attacked Zhelanne by aircraft and dropped two KAB-250s on Niu-York.

 

Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office added that the number of injured has increased to 6 as a result of the night russian strike on Selydove. Yurii Borodin, Director of Pokrovsk Clinical Hospital, said that four women and two men aged 62 to 93 sustained explosive and shrapnel wounds. A 93-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman are in critical condition. 

 

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 14 June is as follows:

 

Towards Pokrovsk, a man was injured and a house damaged in Kurakhove. Kurakhivka, Uspenivka, Hannivka and Veselyi Hai were also shelled in the community. In Selydove, 6 people were injured, 13 apartment buildings, a private house, 3 administrative buildings and several shops were damaged.

 

Towards Kramatorsk, 5 houses were damaged in Lyman community: 3 in Zarichne, 1 in Torske and Ozerne. 4 objects were damaged in Zoria of Illinivka community. 2 houses were damaged in Markove of Kostiantynivka community.

 

Towards Bakhmut, a person was injured, 15 houses and an infrastructure facility damaged in Toretsk. 12 private houses and 2 apartment buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. 

 

In total, russians attacked settlements in Donetsk oblast 14 times over the day. 73 people, including 16 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

 

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians injured 9 civilians: 6 in Selydove, 1 in Toretsk, Kurakhove and Krasnohorivka

Luhansk oblast

Ukrainian defenders held back the enemy near Stelmakhivka, Nevske and Hrekivka. Six enemy attacks were repelled near the latter two settlements. Nevske is still home to civilians who, despite constant persuasion, are reluctant to leave. The invaders attacked Kuzemivka and Nevske by Grad MRLs, cannon artillery and mortars. They shelled Stelmakhivka by artillery and mortars. The invaders attacked Makiivka by mortars, where people are still living.

 

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, drone competitions are cultivated by the so-called “ministry of sports of the lpr” among young people. They emphasise that this “sport” is an important element in the training of pre-conscription youth.

 

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said that in addition, teenagers aged 14 to 17 from the occupied Luhansk oblast are already undergoing training in the summer shifts “Time of Heroes” organised in russia. They are taught the basics of national security, how to fly UAVs, fire and tactical training, and communication skills.

 

Residents of Starobilsk are experiencing a catastrophic shortage of medical workers after the occupation of the settlement.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to the State Emergency Service, a fire at an industrial facility in Kyiv oblast has been extinguished for three days after the russian attack on the morning of 12 June. As of the morning of 14 June, the firefighting operations are ongoing: the ignition is under control and rescuers are working to cool it down. A total of 76 vehicles and 232 firefighters are currently on the scene.

Kyiv Oblast State Emergency Service thanked the volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross Rapid Response Units who were on hand at aid stations throughout the firefighting operations at the industrial facility and supported and assisted the rescuers in extremely difficult conditions.

In the afternoon of 14 June, Kyiv City Military Administration reported that a UAV was spotted flying in Kyiv’s airspace. The Air Defence Forces of Ukraine conducted combat operations against the target in the outskirts of the capital. 

 

Bila Tserkva City Council reported about the opening of a recruitment centre for the Ukrainian army. This is the 23rd such centre in Ukraine. There, citizens can receive information and advisory services on service in the defence forces and, if they wish, be recruited to a military unit and position of their choice. Summonses are not handed out in the centres, there are no representatives of the territorial procurement centres.

 

In Kyiv oblast, for the first time in Ukraine, a woman war veteran and member of the Ukrainian national women’s amputees team, Olha Benda, became the coordinator of the social project Active Parks – Locations of Healthy Ukraine. This pilot project to involve war veterans and combatants was implemented as part of a social project. Currently, there are 7 such coordinators in the region.

 

In the city council, Bucha community announced the unveiling of a memorial plaque in honour of Andrii Chausov, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who was killed in action. In civilian life, Andrii worked in logistics, but on 24 February 2022, he voluntarily took up arms. From the first days he fought as part of the territorial defence of Kyiv, and later took the oath and went to the front as a rifleman.

 

The NGO KyivPride reported that the Equality March, which has been absent for two years due to the full-scale war, will be held on the streets of Kyiv on 16 June. For safety reasons, the route will be held near shelters. This year’s march is expected to be attended by up to 500 people who have registered and been vetted. Participants will be informed about the location and route separately. The event will also be joined by a convoy of LGBTQ+ military personnel.

 

Zhytomyr oblast

According to Zhytomyr City Council report, on 13 June, the families of the fallen defenders received posthumous state awards in Zhytomyr. The soldiers died in different years, starting in 2022, on different frontlines, defending Ukraine from the russian army. The mother of the fallen Hero was also presented with a lifetime award from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, which her son did not have time to receive during his lifetime. 

 

Zhytomyr City Council announced a two-hour training on stress resilience in war conditions. It was held for 465 employees of the main department of the regional pension fund. The purpose of the event is to help Ukrainians maintain their mental health in times of war.

 

Sumy oblast

 According to Sumy RMA, in the morning, the russian military hit a social bus with an FPV drone in Esman community of Shostka region. There were more than 20 people on the bus.Three women received injuries of varying severity.The injured were provided with medical assistance. The consequences of the hostile attack are being clarified.

At night and in the morning of 14 June, russians attacked oblast border areas 9 times. There were 30 explosions, including artillery shelling, AGS, FPV kamikaze strikes, the dropping of explosive ordnance and a Geranium-2 UAV attack. 

Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka and Druzhbivka communities were shelled.

The regional military administration reported that russian forces attacked Sumy oblast 11 times – there were 42 mortar and artillery strikes. Five border communities were shelled: Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, and Druzhbivka. 

The regional SES reported that in Sumy oblast, rescuers are helping evacuate border residents. On 14 June, civilian Ukrainians living near the enemy border were evacuated in Bilopillia.

According to the RMA data, almost 4,000 people in Sumy oblast have the title of honorary donors, the highest rate in Ukraine. Compared to developed countries such as the US and Canada, the number of donations per 1,000 residents in Sumy is 4 times higher. The regional centre received the status of the world capital of donation in 2018.

Chernihiv oblast

The  russian troops shelled 5 settlements in Chernihiv oblast with mortars and cannon artillery. According to the State Border Guard Service, there were 35 explosions. Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk communities were under enemy fire.

More than 4,500 applications for compensation for housing damaged by hostilities through the state programme “eRestoration” have been submitted by residents of Chernihiv oblast at the beginning of the second year of the programme. According to the regional executive office, the total cost of compensation for this type of payment is almost UAH 250m. The oblast residents also received compensation in the form of housing certificates. So far, 371 housing certificates have been issued for a total of UAH 545m.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that 5 enemy shaheeds were shot down over the oblast at night. Two drones were destroyed in Kamianske region, one in Dnipro, Synelnykove and Kryvyi Rih regions. In the morning, the enemy attacked Nikopol with kamikaze drones. Marhanets community was also hit with artillery. 4 private houses, outbuildings, a tractor, a motorcycle, a trailer and a grain hangar, power lines and a gas pipeline were damaged.

 

The enemy continued to terrorize civilians in Nikopol region throughout the day. A 17-year-old girl was injured in a drone strike and hospitalized in moderate condition in a surgical unit. In total, there were 23 attacks in the area during the day. The occupiers fired artillery and kamikaze drones at the region’s center, Myrove, Pokrovsk, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanetsk communities. A shop, an enterprise, an infrastructure facility, 3 private houses, trucks, cars and a minibus were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council reports that ​​Vinnytsia students handed over 22 camouflage nets to the Ukrainian military. 

 

The Ukrainian national football team has released a video message before the Euro. The video features players whose cities have suffered from russian aggression or are temporarily occupied. Among them is Viktor Tsygankov from Vinnytsia.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, on World Blood Donor Day, blood was donated for hospital patients, accident victims, and wounded soldiers. 200 people came to the event. A maximum of 450 milliliters was taken from each donor.

 

Poltava oblast

Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the number of blood donors in Poltava oblast has almost doubled. Currently, 50 to 100 liters of blood are collected in the oblast per day. 

 

Cherkasy oblast

“A Journalist in Uniform” – a documentary with this title was presented in Cherkasy. It is dedicated to a soldier of the 118th terrorist defense brigade, Lieutenant Volodymyr Mukan. It is known that a soldier was killed in April 2023 while performing a combat mission towards Bakhmut.

 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 13 June, the enemy attacked Zaporizhzhia oblast. Rockets hit an open area. No information about casualties or damage has been reported.

Yesterday, the occupiers carried out 346 strikes on Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy launched an airstrike on Huliaipole. 163 UAVs of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. Six MLRS attacks targeted Robotyne and Mala Tokmachka. 176 artillery shellings were carried out on the territories of Huliaipole, Novoprokopivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Levadne, and Malynivka. There were two reports of housing destruction.

It is reported that towards Orikhiv, the russian aggressor carried out five assaults in the vicinity of Mala Tokmachka. Ukrainian soldiers repelled all attacks.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, a 120mm mortar was destroyed by the separate detachment Wings of Omega of the Special Operations Center.

Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), who are present at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), reported hearing an explosion near the plant. On 11 June, one of the mines located near ZNPP cooling pond exploded. The agency’s team also inspected the condition of Zaporizhzhia NPP substation to see the consequences of a probable shelling that occurred on 8 June. The probable shelling caused a fire and damaged the substation, which serves the building of Enerhodar City Council, where the main communication hub between  ZNPP and Enerhodar is located. However, ZNPP confirmed that the communication line damage did not result in an interruption.

Mykolaiv oblast

This morning, the enemy conducted an artillery shelling of the recreational area in the city of Ochakiv from the temporarily occupied Kinburn Peninsula. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in wooden houses covering an area of 40 square meters. Firefighters promptly extinguished it.

On 13 June 13, at 09:00am, the enemy attacked the village of Dmytrivka in Kutsurub community using an FPV drone. An agricultural building was damaged as the result of the attack.

In the afternoon, at 13:54, the enemy launched a missile strike on open territory outside the settlement of Shevchenkove community. Later, the russians attacked the village of Solonchaky in Kutsurub community with FPV kamikaze drones, damaging a power line, which caused a blackout in two settlements of the community. Electricity supply has now been restored.

The Danish government announced a fourth aid package to Ukraine totaling approximately 33.5 million euros. This entire amount will be spent on further training Mykolaiv residents in professions that are in demand in the local labour market, as well as on restoring and repairing infrastructure to improve access to water and electricity.

Relatives of prisoners of war and missing persons held a rally in their support near the memorial to fallen ATO soldiers and the Heavenly Hundred in the village of Veselynove. About 30 people came out with posters and slogans to remind everyone that they are waiting for their Heroes. According to Ilona Tkachenko, organizer of the rally, about ten men from Veselynove are currently in russian captivity.

Odesa oblast

As of the morning of 14 June, there is 1 enemy ship in the Black Sea, which is armed with Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to 4 missiles. There are 9 enemy ships in the Sea of Azov, 3 of which are armed with Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to 24 missiles. 3 enemy ships are located in the Mediterranean Sea, 2 of them are armed with Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to 12 missiles.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces discovered a potentially dangerous object resembling a mine on the Black Sea coast in Odesa oblast. After identifying the mine, the dangerous ammunition was neutralized through a controlled explosion, following all necessary safety measures.

Kherson oblast

On 14 June, around 11:00am, the russian military dropped explosives from a drone on a farm operating in Kherson oblast. As a result of the explosion, a 53-year-old man who was in the yard was killed. Another injured man received medical assistance on the spot.

Yesterday, the russian army shelled 20 settlements in Kherson oblast. Prydniprovske, Antonivka, Dniprovsk, Veletenske, Pershotravneve, Kizomys, Oleksandrivka, Tokarivka, Novotiahinka, Beryslav, Mykolaivka, Virivka, Osokorivka, Chervony Yar, Olhivka, Burhunka, Dudchany, Zmiivka, Kachkarivka, and the city of Kherson were under enemy shelling. Nine private houses, a cultural institution, and a private car were damaged. One person was killed and another one injured.

Air defense forces destroyed one Shahed-131/136 drone overthe region during a nighttime drone attack.

Twelve children from temporarily occupied Kherson oblast were returned to Ukrainian-controlled territory. The rescue of the children was carried out by Save Ukraine. A total of 120 children from Kherson oblast have been returned to the Ukrainian-controlled territory since the beginning of 2024.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council reported that the community sent a motor boat to the 35th Marine Brigade, which maintains the defence on the left bank of Dnipro.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA presented state awards to the families of policemen who were killed while performing their duty in the fight against the occupier. The award of the Head of State For the Defense of Ukraine was presented to the wife of the fallen hero, Senior Lieutenant Vasyl Drohomyretskyi. The Defender of the Fatherland medals and the For the Defense of Ukraine awards were presented to families of the fallen heroes of police lieutenant Andrii Potichnyi and private police officer Ivan Starostyi. The 3rd degree For Courage Order, the Defender of the Fatherland medal and the For the Defense of Ukraine award were awarded to the brother of fallen police private Mykola Filippov.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

As part of the Care for the Hero’s Family project, 2 families and 10 children of Carpathian defenders went on vacation to the Carpathians. Mothers with children will be hosted by the Fenix ​​recreation complex in Bukovel during the week. Children will rest in the Deluxe camp in Tatariv.

A commemorative plaque to Andrii Zavadovskyi, fallen soldier of the 95th Separate Polish Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was installed on the facade of Lyceum №1 in Ivano-Frankivsk. He was killed in the fight for Ukraine.

Lviv oblast

During the 1st night alert, which lasted in Lviv oblast from 03:05 am to 04:44 am, an enemy cruise missile crossed the airspace of Lviv oblast. She was heading for Zolochiv, and after 20 seconds she turned to Rivne oblast. Neither during the 1st nor during the 2nd air alarms, no other means of air attack of the occupier entered the airspace of Lviv oblast. All life support systems of the oblast are working normally.

In Lviv Officers’ House, the CHOICE space for defenders has been launched. There are rooms for art therapy, workplaces for those who want to work remotely, offices where you can talk to a psychologist or a chaplain.

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, employees of Lviv RMA actively participated in donating blood for the military and everyone who needs it. Lviv Regional Center of Blood Service collects whole blood, plasma and platelet mass. For the latter, the blood centre accepts only men.

Within the League of the Invincibles training was held for veterans in three sports at once. Veterans were taught boxing, archery and shooting. The classes were attended by military personnel and veterans undergoing rehabilitation at Nextstep Ukraine, Unbroken Ukraine, Superhumans Center, the Roxy CF, the Halychyna Complex Rehabilitation Center, Lviv Rehabilitation Center and the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade.

Rivne oblast

The City Council reported that Rivne and the Swedish city of Lund signed the Agreement on Partnership Between Cities.

Ternopil oblast

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, presented the Golden Star order to the family of junior sergeant Vitalii Derekh, who was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. In May 2022, the Skif (Stugna-P) ATGM under the command of the junior sergeant destroyed 15 pieces of equipment of the russian occupiers. As a result of an enemy attack on 28 May, 2022, Vitalii Derech was killed in a combat position.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that during the night, the enemy again launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine. Air defence forces destroyed 11 enemy targets within the oblast. At the same time, as a result of the attack, a fire continues at the infrastructure facility. So far, there have been no reports of injured people.

Yurii Khoduschan was awarded the III degree Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky. Oleh Shevchuk, Yurii Murava, Oleksandr Korshakov and Oleksandr Komarnitskyi were awarded the III degree For Courage Order. The awards were received by relatives of the fallen soldiers.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Volodymyr Kavula, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea in Chernivtsi. They discussed possibilities of supporting IDPs and children of privileged categories.

In the 1st quarter of 2024, Nedoboivska community in Bukovina allocated UAH 643,000 for various needs of the military, law enforcement officers and IDP. UAH 211.100 of them provided food for 109 servicemen.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ukraine and the US signed a security agreement. The document envisages stable support for Ukraine every year throughout its ten-year term. Not only before the complete victory over russia, but also after its conquest. The agreement contains provisions, inter alia, to provide Ukraine with advanced defence systems such as the Patriot and squadrons of fighter jets, including but not limited to the F-16. The agreement also includes the responsibility of the aggressor country for the war, the use of russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine, and sanctions against russia. The document clearly records US support for Ukraine’s future membership in NATO and is, in fact, Ukraine’s step on the way to the alliance.

Ukraine and Japan signed a security agreement. During 2024, Japan will provide Ukraine with $4.5bn and will support Ukraine throughout the 10-year term of the agreement. Assistance in the field of security and defence, cooperation in the humanitarian, technical and financial spheres, joint work for the implementation of the points of the Peace Formula, sanctions against the aggressor and bringing him to justice – this is also enshrined in the agreement signed today.

Germany announced a new package of military support with a significant amount of armoured vehicles and air defence equipment for Ukraine. The German government published a list of what it will include:

  • 10 Leopard 1A1 tanks and ammunition for them;
  • 20 tracked Marder infantry vehicles and ammunition;
  • a medium-range anti-aircraft missile system IRIS-T SLM;
  • a short-range anti-aircraft missile system IRIS-T SLS;
  • 3 HIMARS reactive artillery systems;
  • 2 Dachs armoured engineering vehicles;
  • an armoured repair and evacuation vehicle Bergepanzer 2;
  • 4 Wisent 1 demining machines with spare parts;
  • 16 gas stations;
  • ammunition, boats, small arms;
  • 21,000 155 mm ammunition, etc.

The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands reported that Ukraine will receive 152 mm shells worth over €350m, which will be allocated from the International Fund for Support of Ukraine. The exact number of shells and delivery dates will not be disclosed “for security reasons.” But this is one of the largest orders of IFU from the international arms industry.

The 24UR Slovenian publication reported that Slovenia sent to Ukraine 26 armoured fighting vehicles, 3 infantry fighting vehicles and a new batch of drones.

Bonnie Poindexter, Pentagon Spokeswoman, stated that the US Department of Defense extended the agreement with SpaceX for the use of Starlink in Ukraine. The contract was extended for another 6 months – until 30 November.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Giorgia Meloni, Head of the Council of Ministers of Italy. They discussed the next steps of cooperation and Italy’s support of the air defence system of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Justin Trudeau, Canadian Prime Minister. They discussed the security situation, defence cooperation and preparations for the NATO summit in Washington.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Support for Ukraine was discussed.

The IAEA reported that a mine exploded near the cooling pond at Zaporizhzhia NPP. They noted that it happened on 11 June. One of the mines, located next to the cooling pond of ZNPP, exploded there. As a result of the explosion, no one was injured and there was no damage.
