Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have attacked Ukrainian positions seven times in the Vovchansk area and in the directions of Hraf’ske, Vovchanski Khutory, and Kruhlyi, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out four attacks yesterday. Our defenders repelled assault actions towards Petropavlivka and Pishchane.

A crew of border guards from the “Pomsta” brigade in Kharkiv region came under fire from a Russian drone while evacuating a wounded soldier. The pickup driver was seriously injured — one leg was severed and the other broken. His comrade applied a tourniquet and dragged him over a kilometer to cover while another crew entered the “grey zone” to extract the wounded and deliver them to medics. The injured driver was hospitalized in Kharkiv.

Over the past day, enemy strikes hit the city of Kharkiv and 11 settlements in Kharkiv region. Eight people were injured, including two children.

  • In Voloska Balakliia, Shevchenkivska community, an 11-year-old boy was injured;
  • In Kharkiv, a 16-year-old girl was injured;
  • In Zadoneцьke, Zmiivska community, a 55-year-old woman and men aged 27, 52, and 60 were injured;

The enemy attacked the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv with UAVs.

The enemy actively used various weapons across Kharkiv region:

At least four “Shahed” drones attacked Lozova community on January 14, leaving part of it without electricity, according to the city mayor, Serhii Zelenskyi. He said the strikes disrupted the power supply system, so critical infrastructure was powered via alternative sources.

“Nova Poshta” completed the assessment of losses after a Russian strike on a terminal in Kharkiv region on January 13: 2,690 shipments were destroyed, totaling nearly eight million hryvnias.

Eighteen employees of “Nova Poshta” died at workplaces in various regions of Ukraine due to Russian strikes. Fifteen of them were killed in attacks on Kharkiv region, the company’s press service reported.

The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 68 people in the past day. Since the beginning of its operation, a total of 16,573 people have been registered at the point.

An animal shelter from Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region was forced to evacuate due to the approaching front line and ongoing Russian strikes. In February 2025, volunteer Aliona Ovcharenko, together with her husband, evacuated dozens of dogs and cats from the frontline city while drones were already flying over the area and missile strikes were recorded daily. The shelter now operates in Balakliia, Kharkiv region, and houses 64 dogs and 117 cats — animals that survived the war along with the people who rescued them.

Donetsk oblast

Over the past day, the Russian army carried out more assaults on the Pokrovsk front than on the previous day. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recorded 39 Russian attacks near Shakhove, Fedorivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, and in the directions of Novopavlivka and Filia.

The Defense Forces repelled more than 10 battles in a single day on the Lyman and Kostiantynivka directions.

The city of Lyman in northern Donetsk is strategically important for Russian troops to create a bridgehead and advance towards Sloviansk. The occupiers aim to use the city’s railway infrastructure, said Maksym Bilousov, head of the communications department of the 60th Brigade. Since August of last year, when the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” took up defense in the Dobropillia direction, the Russian army has lost almost 23,000 troops, 100 tanks, and 263 armored fighting vehicles, the Azov unit reported in response to the release of two generals.

Ukrainian forces are holding the village of Sviato-Pokrovske in northern Donetsk. The Russian army is attempting to infiltrate the settlement with small groups, the 10th OShBr “Edelweiss” reported. Battles for the village are part of the Sloviansk direction of the front. Sviato-Pokrovske is located southwest of temporarily occupied Siversk.

During the night, Russian troops attacked Sloviansk with “Geran-2” strike drones. Two strikes on private businesses were recorded in the city, according to the head of the Military Administration, Lyakh.

On January 13, the police recorded 1,696 enemy shellings along the front line and in residential areas.

Ten settlements came under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk; the urban-type settlements of Malotaranivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka; and the villages of Novostepanivka, Ocheretyne, and Rozdollia.

Utility workers have restored heating in four out of seven apartment buildings in the Kondytsioner neighborhood of Kramatorsk, which were left without heat after a Russian airstrike hit the boiler house on the evening of January 6.

The city council reported that crews are still addressing frozen network issues in the remaining three buildings. All apartment buildings have electricity and gas.

Volunteers evacuated 12 puppies from Kramatorsk and Druzhkivka. They will be placed in animal shelters to later find them new families, UAnimals reports.

From the frontline village of Novokryvorizhzhia in Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region, the last resident was evacuated. On January 11, rescuers and volunteers evacuated 69-year-old Alla along with her dogs, puppies, and birds in an armored vehicle. The village has been completely emptied due to Russian shelling and the proximity of the front line — no civilians remain.

Since the beginning of the year, up to ten people have left the Sviatohirsk community in Donetsk region. Currently, postal services are not operating there, and residents receive pensions only when a “Ukrposhta” representative arrives. Pharmacies are closed, and only three shops are open, reported Volodymyr Rybalkin, head of the Sviatohirsk Military-Civil Administration.

In temporarily occupied Mariupol, a shooting occurred near one of the clubs between Russian military personnel: Russians and “Kadyrovites” from the “Akhmat” unit. According to agents of the “ATESH” movement, one person was killed and another seriously wounded. “ATESH” added that the deadly clash happened against the backdrop of Russian President Putin’s statement declaring 2026 as the “Year of Peoples’ Friendship” in Russia.

Luhansk oblast

Frontline settlements in Luhansk region were shelled by Russian forces using all available weapons: nine strikes with mortars, six with automatic grenade launchers, as well as UAVs, FPV drones, and tube artillery. Assault actions by the occupiers took place near Novoiehorivka.

In the so-called “LPR,” authorities decided not to restore the destroyed network of feldsher-obstetric points and pharmacies, but to replace them with mobile pharmacies. Their number is extremely limited — only two are planned for the entire occupied Luhansk region, and each mobile unit is supposed to cover up to 50 settlements, meaning they will visit each location, at best, once a month under a project running from June 1, 2026, to June 1, 2029.

In 2025 alone, the occupiers owed hired workers in the captured territory of Luhansk 32 billion rubles in wages — and these are only official figures, not accounting for numerous unpaid salaries to construction workers on high-profile “reconstruction” projects, where payments are promised “in envelopes” but often not paid after a month or two. This also does not include debts owed to public sector employees accumulated since 2014–2015, which the occupiers have promised to settle for several years.
