It has been the 749th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine, ignores the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

During the day of 13 March, there were 70x combat engagements.

The enemy launched a total of 2x missiles and 68x air strikes, carried out 37x MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks resulted in wounded civilians. Residential private and apartment buildings, as well as other infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Volyn and Polissia axes: no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Vil’ne, Velyka Pysarivka, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Vovchansk (Kharkiv oblast). Around 30x settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Rozhkovychi, Holubivka, Seredyna-Buda, Krasnopillya, Zapsillya, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Hraniv, Strilecha, Borysivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Kupiansk axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 4x attacks in the vicinities of Tabaivka (Kharkiv oblast) and Stel’makhivka (Luhansk oblast), where the occupiers made attempts to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions. The occupiers launched an air strike in the vicinity of Nadiia (Luhansk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Synkivka, Ivanivka, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Lyman axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 5x assaults in the vicinities of Terny and Yampolivka (Donetsk oblast) and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), where the adversary made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The adversary launched an air strike in the vicinity of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Spirne, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Bakhmut axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3x attacks in the vicinities east of Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers, with air support, made attempts to improve their tactical situation. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Predtechyne, New York, Druzhba (Donetsk oblast). Around 10x settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Niu-York (Donetsk oblast).

Avdiivka axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 14x attacks in the vicinities of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast). The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novobakhmutivka, Oleksandropil, Keramik, Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 20x settlements, including Oleksandropil, Keramik, Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka (Donetsk oblast).

Novopavlivka axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the invaders, with air support, made 19x attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Maksymilianivka, Vodiane, Maksymivka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 20x settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, Vuhledar (Donetsk oblast).

Orikhiv axis: the enemy, with air support, conducted 5x attacks on positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinities of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), west of Verbove and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Neskuchne (Donetsk oblast) and Mala Tokmachka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20x settlements, including Poltavka, Chervone, Bilohiria, Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Odesa operational-strategic group, Kherson axis: the occupiers do not abandon their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. The enemy conducted 2x unsuccessful assaults on positions of Ukrainian defenders. Around 30x settlements, including Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Sadove, Mykolaivka (Kherson oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

During the day of 13 March, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 7x concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers. Also, Ukrainian air defence forces destroyed 1x Kh-31 missile.

Based on the information provided by Kherson Regional Military Administration, a mother with four children, aged 7 to 12, from the occupied Kherson oblast were returned to the controlled territory of Ukraine. Also a 17-year-old boy who did not want to receive a russian passport and was forced to hide from the so-called occupation authorities.

The SBU exposed the largest FSB agent network in Ukraine, which operated under the cover of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP). Also russian agents massively wrote information sabotage according to the kremlin’s methods to destabilise the situation and spark religious hatred in Ukraine. More than 15 members of the network were exposed and four key members have already been detained. Among them is one of the leaders of Kyiv church of the UOC-MP who was a member of agent apparatus of the russian special service. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops repelled 66 russian attacks in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Towards Avdiivka and Novopavlivka, there were 52 battles near Berdychiv, Orlivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka.  

Kharkiv oblast

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defence forces repelled 4 russian attacks during the day. According to the General Staff, russians are trying to force Ukrainian units out of their positions.

According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, at 3pm, the invaders shelled Vovchansk with a guided aerial bomb. As a result of the enemy attack, a two-storey residential building and nearby buildings were damaged. Serhii Bolvinov, Head of Kharkiv police investigation department, reported that as a result of the strike on Vovchansk, a man sustained a shrapnel wound to the head and was hospitalised. Apartment buildings and private houses were damaged and at least one shop destroyed in downtown.

The Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that russia shelled Kurylivka village, Kupiansk region at 9am and 11am. Previously, russia attacked by artillery. The shelling damaged residential buildings and outbuildings.

Yesterday about 20 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered enemy artillery and mortar attacks: Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove, Huriv Kozachok, Hatyshche and others. The enemy launched airstrikes on Muravske, Bolohivka, Odnorobivka, Kozacha Lopan, Kupiansk and Kivsharivka.

At 11pm, the enemy targeted Vovchansk. A house was damaged. There were no casualties.

At 3:19pm, two hangars were damaged by S-300 missiles in Novyi Korotych village, Kharkiv region. There were no casualties.

At 1:55pm, an outbuilding and 2 cars were on fire as a result of enemy shelling of Podoly village, Kupiansk region. The fire was extinguished. No casualties were reported.

At 11am, the territory of a civilian enterprise was damaged as a result of hostile missile attack in Balakliia. There were no casualties.

At 8:40am, hostile shelling damaged the building of a veterinary hospital and an outbuilding in Vovchansk. There was no information about any casualties.

Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Tabaivka yesterday.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 34.93 hectares of territory and destroyed 267 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.

4 children with their families were evacuated over the day. To date, 73 children have been evacuated from two communities in Kupiansk region: 28 from Vilkhuvatka and 45 from Velykyi Burluk.

The construction of fortifications in Kharkiv oblast continues: dragon’s teeth, anti-tank ditches, strongholds and dugouts are being built. This is the third stage of defence construction in the oblast and involves the construction of hundreds of platoon strongholds with trenches thousands of metres long.  To date, work has begun on almost a hundred more sites, with preliminary mine clearance. About 30 civilian companies are building the fortifications on the border.  More than 500 employees and more than 200 pieces of equipment are involved in the work.

Ivan Shevtsov, Spokesman of the Stalevyi Kordon unit, informed that towards Kupiansk, the military have recorded intensified russian assault actions. This speaks about the enemy gathering personnel and equipment, replenishing the losses they suffered and now resume assault operations. Yesterday russian troops fired 700 to 800 artillery rounds towards Lyman-Kupiansk.

Donetsk oblast

The day before, the invaders hit Myrnohrad with a Grom-E1 bomb late in the evening, partially destroying a five-story building. Two people were killed, rescuers removed their bodies from the rubble. Another 6 people, including 1 child, were rescued from the rubble. 4 people were injured.

Towards Volnovakha, 2 houses and an outbuilding were damaged in Novoukrainka of Vuhledar community.

Towards Pokrovsk, Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka and Heorhiivka of Marinka community were under attack. Kurakhove and Uspenivka were shelled. 2 people were killed in Selydove. 2 people were killed and 5 injured, 4 apartment buildings damaged in Myrnohrad. 25 private houses and 2 administrative buildings were damaged in Novohrodivka.

Towards Kramatorsk, 2 people were injured and a house damaged in Zarichne of Lyman community.

Towards Bakhmut, a house waas damaged in Pivdenne of Toretsk community. 3 apartment buildings, 3 private houses and 4 garages were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. 2 houses and a non-residential building were damaged in Siversk. 2 people were injured in Pereizne of Zvanivka community.

In total, russians attacked settlements in Donetsk oblast 17 times over a day. 620 people, including 119 children, were evacuated from the front line.

Roman Padun, Head of Kurakhove City Military Administration, reported that russian occupation forces have intensified shelling of the community over the past two months. Since then, the number of people willing to evacuate to safer oblasts of Ukraine has increased. 

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor Petro Andriushchenko said that representatives of so-called military commissariats will be on duty at polling stations in the occupied city. They will collect information about people liable for military service.

Luhansk oblast

As in previous days, the enemy is concentrating the attack efforts near Bilohorivka. According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the enemy made several assaults with support from the sky. yesterday and all of them were repelled. The territory of Serebrianka forestry was hit by airstrikes and Nevske by artillery.

Since the end of spring 2022, the towns of Novodruzhesk and Pryvillia, which are located near Lysychansk, have been without electricity. Starting in the summer of 2022, local authorities set dates for repairs that coincided with the dates of various types of voting. The electricity was connected only once, for five days during the pseudo-referendum. When the vote was over, they switched it off again. Now the locals hope that electricity will be supplied at least on the days of the presidential elections in russia. On the eve of the elections, the invaders talk a lot about the multimillion-dollar subventions allegedly provided for the development and reconstruction of healthcare in the occupied regions. According to open sources, almost all of the money has been returned to the accounts of utility providers. Thus, out of RUB 788m, 303.6m were allocated for heating and another 187.5m to the accounts of other suppliers. 153.1m was spent on equipment maintenance by third-party organisations. In total, almost 650m of the total revenue was spent on the purchase of resources in russia. Improving medical care is out of the question.

The russians caused damage worth UAH 4bn by destroying the industrial facilities of the cardboard and container plant in Rubizhne. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, russian troops have been deliberately destroying industrial enterprises in the oblast, causing irreparable damage to the civilian infrastructure and environment of Luhansk oblast. For instance, right at the location of activity of Rubizhne Cardboard and Container Plant PJSC, the treatment facilities and other real estate have been critically damaged and some of them completely destroyed by enemy attack. This resulted in the contamination of the enterprise’s territory with debris from ammunition, buildings and equipment.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Regional Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service reported that three bridges on Kyiv-Ivankiv-Ovruch highway, which were destroyed at the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, are being restored in Kyiv oblast. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. These are bridge crossings over the Irpin, Zdvizh and Teteriv rivers. Temporary crossings or bypass roads will be open near each bridge during the repair.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, informed that as a result of the russian invasion, 244 educational institutions were destroyed in Kyiv oblast. Last year, 2,500 additional places in kindergartens were created in the oblast. New modular kindergartens were opened and the damaged ones restored in Borodianka, Bysheve, Irpin, Bucha, Hirske and Borshchahivka communities. Currently, there are 760 kindergartens in the oblast with more than 56,000 children attending them.

A delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited Kyiv. At a meeting with representatives of the city administration, they identified areas of priority cooperation. Kyiv City State Administration reported that they were talking about providing modern equipment to social institutions, specifically, rehabilitation facilities.

In Irpin, the capital repairs of an apartment building on Kotliarevskoho Street, which was significantly damaged during active hostilities in the spring of 2023, are ongoing. The RMA said that the project involves the restoration and insulation of the facade, the decoration of public areas, and the installation of new ramps with appropriate coverings.

Kyiv Passengers community confirmed that Deutsche Bahn has donated 22 buses to Kyiv. The activists said that the buses were transferred from subsidiaries in Croatia and Slovakia. The company responded to a request from the city government to provide buses.

In downtown Kyiv, a stamp-photo zone with a picture of the flooded russian fleet has been installed on Khreshchatyk Street. The new stamp-photo zone was set up by the CHESNO movement near Kyiv City State Administration building.

Zhytomyr oblast

Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, reported after his visit to Liubar community that they recently opened a Invincibility Centre where specialists provide psychosocial support to people and families living in the community. Its main goal is to help people cope with stressful situations, cope with themselves and their loved ones, strengthen local volunteering, and unite the community. In Zhytomyr oblast, 9 communities have already joined the initiative to establish such centres.

According to the RMA, 77 hospitals and schools in Zhytomyr oblast received 105 Wi-Fi routers to provide access to the Internet in shelters. The network equipment was purchased with the support of the European Union Emergency Response Coordination Centre and the Leo charitable foundation. As a result, all medical institutions in the oblast with shelters will have access to wireless Internet, while Internet connection in school shelters is 95% complete.

Sumy oblast

According to the Sumy RMA, on the night of 13 March, a residential sector in downtown was attacked by enemy UAVs. As a result, a 5-storey residential building was damaged. There are casualties reported. Early reports indicate that 10 people were rescued from the rubble, 8 of whom suffered injuries of varying severity. 30 apartments were damaged, with 15 of them completely destroyed.

Sumy SES informed that at the site of russian Shahed strike, territory assessments, firefighting, emergency search and rescue operations are being conducted. An Invincibility Centre has been established to provide heating for the population and assistance in addressing domestic issues. Psychologists from the SES are also present at the site.

Sumy RMA reported that during the night and morning of 13 March, there were 18 shelling attacks on border territories and settlements. A total of 64 explosions were recorded, including attacks from enemy Shahed drones, KAB airstrikes, FPV attacks, HAP from helicopters, the dropping of explosive devices from drones, attacks from mortars, artillery and self-propelled artillery systems. The affected communities included Sumy, Yunakivka, Trostianets, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhyne, Hlukhivka and Seredyna-Budka.

Additionally, Sumy RMA said that during the night of 13 March, Air Defense Forces destroyed 2 enemy Shahed drones.

On 12 March, russian forces conducted 82 shelling attacks on Sumy border territories, with a total of 383 projectiles from various types of weapons recorded. 14 communities were shelled, including Yunakivka, Khotyn, Bilopillia, Vorozhba, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Trostianets, Putyvl, Nova Sloboda, Shalyhyne, Esman, Seredyna-Buda and Znob-Novhorodske.

In Velyka Pysarivka community, 5 underage children were injured as a result of shelling. The russian attacks included artillery shelling (60 explosions), mortar fire (11 explosions), HAP missile shelling from helicopters (43 explosions) and the dropping of KAB aviation bombs (16 explosions) from an aircraft.

As reported by the RMA, one resident of Myropillia community was wounded as a result of mortar shelling.

Oleh Nesmashnyi, Deputy Head of Znob-Novhorodske community, states that due to russian strikes on 12 March, a school and 3 residential buildings were damaged.

Oleksii Drozdenko, Head of Sumy CMA, announced that the issue of transitioning schools in the city to remote learning will be discussed during an emergency meeting of Sumy Military Administration Commission. The emergency meeting was initiated due to a rapid increase in air raid alarms caused by russian shelling.

Chernihiv oblast

SBGS reported that yesterday russian troops attacked the border of Chernihiv oblast 14 times. Four communities were under enemy attack: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk and Horodnia. There were a total of 100 attacks by mortars, cannon and rocket artillery, and FPV drones.

Chernihiv Mayor Oleksandr Lomako reported that UNDP plans to dismantle two destroyed schools and houses in Chernihiv at its own expense. The city council will allocate a land plot for the removal of construction waste from the destroyed schools and houses.

In Chernihiv, students of the Chernihiv Collegium National University and locals joined forces for a charity race. The goal is to get people involved in sports and physical activity and raise funds to help Ukrainian defenders. The race route runs through the buildings destroyed by russians – the Drama Theatre, the Regional Youth Centre, apartment buildings on Chornovola Street and the Ukraina Hotel. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In Kryvyi Rih, 4 people were killed in yesterday’s russian strike.

A 47-year-old woman died in the hospital at night. Currently, 6 people, including 2 children, are in critical condition. In total 43 people, including 12 children, were injured. 20 people were hospitalised, the rest are on outpatient treatment. 20 multi-storey buildings, 2 schools, 2 kindergartens, 9 cars and an administrative building were damaged. 4 Invincibility Centres were deployed, which were visited by 277 people, and 72 people received psychological assistance. The enemy also terrorized Nikopol region by shelling the region’s center, Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka communities 3 times by artillery. In Chervonohryhorivka, a shop, 3 private houses, a bus stop and 3 power lines were damaged.

The enemy attacked Nikopol region 5 times during the day, launching 4 kamikaze drones and firing from artillery. Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka and Myrove communities were hit. In the latter, due to the shelling, the agricultural company was damaged. In Kryvyi Rih, 49 people have been reported injured. There are still 10 adults in hospitals, half of them in critical condition. There are also 7 children in medical facilities.

Serhii Lysak, Governor of Dnipropetrovsk oblast, announced that according to preliminary estimates the damage caused by yesterday’s russian attack is about UAH 40m and UAH 20m will be additionally allocated from Kryvyi Rih city budget. 

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia continues to collect russian-language literature for waste paper. The campaign was organised by the Hurkit charitable foundation in partnership with Vivat Publishing House and the Department of Reconstruction and Development of Vinnytsia City Council. The proceeds from the recycling of the collected waste paper will be used to equip and supply 10 mobile firing groups of the Center Air Defense units that protect Vinnytsia region airspace. The campaign will last until the end of March.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, 22 shelters are to be repaired by 1 September, the start of the new school year. According to Serhii Bilokin, Head of the city’s capital construction department, this year UAH 137.3m have been allocated for the shelters. So far, a tender has been held and a contract for 17 repairs has been signed.

Poltava oblast

Yurii Hrytsenko, Secretary of Kremenchuk City Council, reported that a memorial sign is planned for those killed in the Amstor shopping center in Kremenchuk which was shelled by the russian military in 2022. It’ll be placed in a park.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy oblast paid tribute to defenders of Ukraine Oleksandr Tyshchenko, Konstantyn Miroshnychenko and Viktor Burlaka.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday the russian army launched 405 attacks on 11 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Two women were wounded due to enemy artillery shelling in Huliaipole. The occupiers carried out 9 MLRS attacks on Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka and Robotyne, and also attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Malynivka and Robotyne by 92 drones. There were 304 artillery strikes on the territories of Huliaipole, Levadne, Malynivka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka and other frontline cities and villages. There were 11 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure objects.

On 12 March, a fire broke out in Huliaipole as a result of russian shelling. According to rescuers, a private residential building was on fire. In total, the fire covered an area of 70 sq m.

The General Staff reported in the evening digest that the enemy, supported by aviation, attacked the positions of our defenders 5 times towards Orikhiv near Staramaiorske in Donetsk oblast, west of Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy also launched aerial strikes near Neskuchne in Donetsk obalst and Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia oblast. About 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Chervone, Bilohiria and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast, were shelled by artillery and mortars.

The Special Forces of the Chief Intelligence Directorate destroyed 2 russian trucks and a buggy, the launch positions of FPV drones, where enemy operators were located. The losses of the enemy are being clarified.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Mykolaiv RMA, the russian army shelled the territory of Kutsurub community at 8:38pm and 10:02pm. As a result, residential buildings in the village of Dmytrivka were damaged. Additionally, at 11:58pm, the russians shelled the waters in Ochakiv community. There were no casualties or injuries reported.

As reported by the State Emergency Service emergency services, using remotely controlled special vehicles, cleared 47.3 hectares of agricultural land in Mykolaiv oblast as of 13 March. Currently, four such machines are deployed in Mykolaiv oblast, including one MV-4 and three MV-10 vehicles from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation.

The 20 Days in Mariupol documentary film by director Mstyslav Chernov, which received the 2024 Oscar, will be shown in Mykolaiv. The film will be screened daily at 1:50pm in the Multiplex cinema.

Odesa oblast

The South Operational Command stated that in the afternoon, the russian army launched a guided missile at Odesa oblast. The missile, fired from a tactical aviation aircraft, lost its combat capability in the air en route from the Black Sea to the coastline. Fragments fell on open territory. Another missile launched in the morning was successfully destroyed over the sea. The enemy continues to terrorise Odesa oblast with pinpoint strikes, testing our air defence systems.

State environmental inspectors conducted surveys of the shelling sites to assess and calculate the environmental damage caused by Shahed-131/136 attacks  23 and 24 February. According to the State Environmental Inspection of the South-Western Region, pollution of land areas with metal debris and construction waste covering an area of over 300 sq m resulted in damages exceeding UAH 27m.

Recently, the Volunteer Shield First Closed Charity Auction took place in Odesa. The Ukrainian flag with the signature of Kyrylo Budanov, Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant General, was sold at the event. This lot became the most expensive at the auction and was sold for UAH 50,000. Throughout the evening, around two dozen valuable lots were presented and raffled, including art objects, souvenirs, and art items symbolising support for Ukraine and the Armed Forces. In total, the auction managed to raise UAH 152,000, which were distributed among funds and organisations presenting their projects. Part of the funds also went to aid Odesa residents affected by the russian drone strike on a nine-story building on 2 March.

Kherson oblast

Yesterday the enemy shelled Beryslav, Dudchany, Shevchenkivka, Khreshchivka, Zolota Balka, Dniprovske, Yantarne, Lvove, Stepanivka, Stanislav, Sadove, Tiahynka, Chaikyne, Odradokamianka and the city of Kherson. 8 apartment buildings, 2 private houses, an administrative building, economic structures and a garage were damaged in Kherson due to shelling. Also economic structures and agricultural machinery were damaged as a result of enemy attacks in the oblast. Three people were wounded due to russian aggression.

The enemy made 3 attempts to conduct storming actions. The occupiers continue attempts to encircle our strongholds in groups up to a platoon, without the support of armoured vehicles. Suffering losses, they return to their original positions.

Defence forces continue damaging the enemy’s dislocation areas, firing positions, and rear areas. Yesterday, the enemy lost 41 occupiers, 1 howitzer, 10 units of automotive equipment and 5 boats on the left bank. Four enemy observation posts were destroyed.

Five children were returned from the occupied territory to the territory controlled by Ukraine. In total, since the beginning of 2024, 35 children from Kherson oblast have been returned to Ukraine and this work continues.

Pyrotechnics from the regional rescue service have detected and disposed of 42,661 explosive objects since the beginning of the de-occupation in Kherson oblast. This includes the destruction of 20 aviation bombs. Demining work in the region continues.

As part of the Winterization initiative, more than 5,000 residents of affected communities in Kherson oblast received humanitarian aid. Priority was given to vulnerable populations. Specifically, IDPs living in Chornobaivka community received 800 individual sets of bedding. Families from the Bilozerka, Kalynivka, and Stanislav communities affected by hostilities were provided with 1600 non-food kits.

Last week, lawyers, psychologists, social workers and paediatricians worked in Vysokopillia, Novopetrivka, Novovoznesenske, and Novomykolaivka. More than 180 residents sought assistance. The work of mobile teams is carried out with the support of Unicef and the WEST SUPPORT IN UKRAINE charitable organisation.

Volyn oblast

Citizens continue to be forcibly evacuated from Donetsk oblast. This time the host oblast will be Rivne and Volyn. The issue was considered at a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters on mandatory evacuation of the population under martial law.

In Lutsk, a national minute of silence was held on Theater Square in memory of all soldiers who were killed for the independence of Ukraine to the sounds of the song Plyve Kacha and also performed the National Anthem. It is this audio recording that organisers of the rally propose to use in the future in all institutions and establishments of the city. This idea was supported by Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk. This recording will be played daily at 9am on the Theater Square.

Zakarpattia oblast

As part of a working visit to the federal state of Tyrol of the Republic of Austria, Viktor Mykyta, Head of the RMA, together with Sonia Dedl-Rossmann, Head of Landtag, visited a centre where Ukrainian children with special educational needs, who were forcibly moved from the frontline regions of Ukraine, live and study. The activity of the centre is aimed at the education and training of children with the aim of their return to Ukraine under optimal conditions and opportunities.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

An annotation board to Ivan Soltysik was opened in Ivano-Frankivsk. The hero was killed while performing a combat mission for the defence of the Motherland in Kupiansk region, Kharkiv oblast, coming under mortar attack.

Lviv oblast

On the basis of Lviv Polytechnic, mass production of innovative hydrogel medical bandages for healing the wounds of soldiers and civilians who suffered due to the posia attack can start. Such bandages relieve pain, and also serve as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and hemostatic agent.

Pustomytivsk City Council sent 17 DJL Mavic-3 Thermal and Mavic-3 quadcopters worth UAH 2.454m thanks to the local budget. In addition, the city council allocated UAH 175,000 in financial aid for the treatment of wounded soldiers.

The Defence of Ukraine multifunctional classroom was opened in Strilkiv Lyceum. The total cost of the project was UAH 440,000. In 2023, 68 such classrooms were opened in schools of Lviv oblast.

The RMA reported that Zenovyi Veres, military serviceman from Novorozdil community, was awarded with the Silver Cross badge by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

In the north of the oblast, continue to set up defensive lines. In clear coordination with the military, the construction of non-explosive barriers and platoon strongholds continues. In particular, builders carry out earthworks, arrange connections, etc. Works are carried out according to the approved schedule.

Ternopil oblast

Residents of the settlement near the damaged infrastructure are provided with bottled drinking water. 17 households of the settlement in Kremenech region were notified of recommendations to limit the use of water from wells for drinking and cooking. Over 11 tonnes of water have already been delivered to local residents.

Ternopil City Council reported that at the request of the military, as part of the Defense Capability program, the community sent 30 FPV SAG 7/IX quadcopters worth UAH 400,500 to the balance of one of the military units.

Ternopil community sent 3 DJI Mavic 3T quadcopters with night vision to the military thanks to budget funds.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi City Council sent 50 FPV drones and a DJI Mavic 3T quadcopter worth UAH 1.200m thanks to budget funds.

Chernivtsi oblast

Since the beginning of the year, over UAH 27m have been financed from the regional budget of Chernivtsi oblast to support the army. Specifically, UAH 16.5m was directed to the formation of mobile fire groups that provide protection of the oblast from enemy drones. UAH 3m was allocated for the purchase of quadcopters, UAH 1.5m for fuel and lubricants. In addition, UAH 7m were allocated to improve the conditions of stay of the military.

Denmark announced the 16th package of military aid to Ukraine worth $330m, including Caesar self-propelled guns, self-propelled 120mm mortars and ammunition for them. Denmark allocated funds for Caesar in cooperation with France, and for 155mm artillery shells in cooperation with Estonia and the Czech Republic.

The US announced a $300m military aid package for Ukraine, includes, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, additional ammunition for HIMARS, 155mm artillery shells,⁠105mm calibre artillery shells, AT-4 anti-tank grenade launchers, additional ammunition for small arms, ammunition for detonating obstacles, spare parts, maintenance and other auxiliary equipment

Individuals will be deprived of liberty for violating EU sanctions against russia. The European Parliament adopted a directive on the harmonisation of the application of EU sanctions between member states. After the directive enters into force, individuals will be subject to the same penalty of up to five years in prison if their actions involve assets worth €100,000 monads. Various measures are provided for companies, including monetary and non-monetary ones (for example, cancellation of permits, deprivation of the right to benefits, liquidation by judicial procedure, fines, etc.).

Democrats in the US House of Representatives have begun collecting signatures to bring up a $95b aid bill for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, bypassing Speaker Mike Johnson.

Washington threatens to exclude Raiffeisen Bank from the financial system if it does not sever all ties with the russian federation. Anna Morris, US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for Sanctions, met with Austrian government officials and representatives of Raiffeisen Bank International in Vienna. Morris stressed that the bank risks being excluded from the US financial system if it does not distance itself more clearly from the russian war economy.

The European Commission prepared a negotiating framework for the membership of Ukraine and Moldova in the EU. Now it will begin to be discussed among the member states of the European Union. After the final approval, the EU will hold an intergovernmental conference with Ukraine and Moldova — and then negotiations will officially begin.

Vitalii Koval, Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, met with representatives of the World Bank. They discussed support for reforms and improvement of property valuation legislation and sanctioned assets.
