It has been the 1236 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On July 13, the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 97 times. It is most active towards Lyman, Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Toretsk and Kursk.

The border areas were affected by russian artillery shelling, in particular the settlements of Hai in Chernihiv oblast; Kliusy, Ugroidy, Myropylske, Prohres, Marine in Sumy oblast.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the enemy carried out seven offensive actions, and one combat engagement is currently ongoing. There were six airstrikes, a total of 13 guided bombs, and 133 attacks, including three from multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the Ukrainian military repelled three enemy assault actions near Vovchansk and Zelene.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked four times in the vicinity of Holubivka, Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Kolisnykivka. The battle is currently underway.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian units repelled 11 attacks in the vicinity of the settlements of Hrekivka, Kopanky, Ridkodub, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, Zelena Dolyna and Torske. Three more attacks are still ongoing.

Towards Siversk, Ukrainian soldiers repelled two enemy attacks. The occupier units tried to advance towards Serebrianka.

Towards Kramatorsk, there was one enemy assault. The enemy attacked towards Stupochky.

Towards Toretsk, russian occupiers carried out eight assault actions on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Toretsk, Oleksandro-Kalynove, Yablunivka, Rusynyi Yar and towards Stepanivka. Ukrainian units repelled seven attacks, one clash is ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders have already launched 42 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of the settlements of Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Mykolaivka, Razine, Rodynske, Novotoretske, Promin, Vidrodzhennia, Shevchenko, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Kotliarivka, Muravka and Oleksiivka. Holding back the enemy onslaught, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 35 attacks by enemy units.

Towards Novopavlivka, the invaders launched an offensive eight times on the positions of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Zaporizhzhia, Novokhatske, Myrne and Vilne Pole. Ukrainian soldiers repelled five attacks. The fighting is not abating.

Towards Orikhiv, the invaders twice begun moving towards the positions of the Ukrainians, trying to advance near Mali Shcherbaky and Novodanylivka.

Towards Kherson, Ukrainian defenders repelled three assault actions by the invaders.

In other directions, there were no significant changes.

The SSU reported that during the special operation, agents of russian special services were eliminated, who, on the instructions of the FSB of the russian federation, carried out the murder of an SSU colonel in Kyiv. 

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that interceptor drones are showing themselves particularly well. This week, there were hundreds of losses of russian-Iranian Shaheeds.

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

Towards Southern Sloboda, the Ukrainian military repelled three assaults by russian troops near Vovchansk and Zelene.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army attacked four times in the vicinity of Holubivka, Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Kolisnykivka. A battle is currently underway.

Towards Lyman, the Defense Forces repelled 11 attacks, in particular near Kopanky, three battles are currently ongoing.

According to the RMA, there were 200 combat clashes.

Towards Southern Sloboda, there were 11 enemy offensive actions in the vicinity of the settlements of Vovchansk, Zelene, Chuhunivka and Lyptsi.

Towards Kupiansk, there were 10 attacks. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions near Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Stepova Novoselivka, Zelenyi Hai and towards the settlement of Novoosinove.

Shelling

5 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were subjected to enemy attacks. Three people were injured as a result of the shelling.

In the city of Kupiansk, a 72-year-old and a 69-year-old man were injured; in the village of Slobozhanske, Lipetsk community, a 67-year-old man was injured.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons:

▪️22 unguided aircraft missiles;

▪️19 GABs;

▪️6 Shahed type UAVs;

▪️1 Molniya type UAV;

▪️2 fpv drones.

Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

▪️14 private houses and 3 apartment buildings were damaged in Kupiansk region (Kupiansk city);

▪️a boarding school was damaged in Izium region (Pisky-Radkivski village).

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

 Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman for the Khortytsia Military unit says that towards Novopavlivka and Pokrovsk, the greatest number of attacks occurred. russians are trying to break through to Kostiantynivka and the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk oblast, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the pressure. Towards Lyman, pressure continues without active breakthroughs.

Yulia Stepaniuk, Head of the communications department of the 117th Motorized Rifle Brigade, informs that russian troops intensified assaults towards Pokrovsk, using infantry, infantry fighting vehicles, motorcycles and drones. The number of prisoners who surrender voluntarily due to fatigue and disorientation is growing.

The General Staff reported that russian troops attacked 15 times towards Siversk there were five assaults. Defense forces repelled attacks in the areas of Hryhorivka, Serebrianka, Ivano-Darivka and Vyimka.

Towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian defenders stopped 61 assaults. Towards Lyman, there were 28 attacks.

Shelling

Vadym Liakh, Head of the RMA, reports that at about 11 am, russian troops shelled Sloviansk. Two people were injured, including a 13-year-old boy. High-rise buildings and private houses were damaged.

AVadym Liakh, Head of the RMA, reports that at night, russian troops attacked the city of Sloviansk with Geran-2 drones, apartment and private houses, a hospital, and a kindergarten were damaged. There were no casualties.

The RMA reports that  at night, russia struck Dobropillia with a Molniya-2 UAV, a civilian was injured, railway infrastructure was damaged.

The RMA reports that three people were killed, seven more were injured in Donetsk oblast from russian shelling over the past day. People were killed in Sloviansk, Myrnohrad and Belozersk due to russian shelling. The following were injured:

▫️three residents of Sloviansk,

▫️two residents of Pokrovsk,

▫️one person each in Myrnohrad and Vyrivka.

On July 12, russia carried out 3,127 strikes on the frontline and residential areas.

15 settlements were under fire: the cities of Bilozerske, Kostiantynivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, the village of Oleksandrivka, the villages of Andriivka, Vyrivka, Donetske, Kucheriv Yar, Lozove, Novoprihozhe, Ozerne, Raiske, and Yakovlivka.

95 civilian objects were damaged, including 38 residential buildings.

russians covered Sloviansk with Tornado-S MLRS – a civilian was killed, three more were wounded. An educational institution, an administrative building, a store, a shopping complex, a service station, and 36 civilian cars were destroyed.

In Bilozerske, a Geran-2 strike drone attacked a civilian car – a person in it died. Another drone hit a truck near Vyrivka of Bilozerske community; a civilian was injured.

The enemy fired artillery on Myrnahrad; one person was killed and one wounded. In Pokrovsk, two civilians were wounded in shelling.

The occupiers shelled Kostiantynivka with artillery and a drone; 6 private homes were damaged.

In Oleksandrivka, a shop and 2 civilian cars were damaged due to an attack by a Lancet UAV. In Andriivka, an FPV drone damaged a civilian car.

In Lozove, Lyman community, russian troops fired two missiles from the S-300 air defense system – two private homes and three outbuildings were destroyed. In Ozerne, 30 private homes were damaged as a result of shelling.

Other

In captured Bakhmut, russian occupiers are transporting bricks from destroyed homes to Mariupol and other temporarily occupied territories. According to the Yellow Ribbon, the operation is coordinated by a company from Belgorod.

An agent of the Ukrainian partisan movement ATESH conducted a night sabotage in occupied Mariupol, destroying a car of militants of the Akhmat unit, the movement reported.

Luhansk oblast

The RMA reports that O the enemy tried to target the Ukrainian Defenders with artillery and aviation. In particular, in 25 cases it fired from artillery installations. It directed 80 drones and eight fpv drones in this direction. russians attacked near Dibrova and Hrekivka.

The RMA reports that 300 thousand residents in the occupied Luhansk oblast were left without water due to an accident at a pumping station. In particular, water supply to Alchevsk, Brianka, Perevalsk, Kadiivka and other nearby settlements was stopped. The occupiers promise to partially organize the transportation of technical water, but there is no mention of drinking water.

The RMA reports that the occupiers declared a state of emergency due to fires around Sievierskodonetsk.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

A special pyrotechnic unit has been established in Kyiv to strengthen protection against the consequences of the war. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), sappers are clearing bodies of water from remnants of Russian mines and munitions, as well as inspecting areas to neutralize explosive devices. The sappers train daily and practice various response scenarios for detecting explosive hazards.

According to Hostomel Village Military AdministrationIn the first half of 2025, as part of the implementation of the Social Support Program for Combatants, Veterans, Persons with War-related Disabilities, Families of Fallen Defenders of Ukraine, Prisoners of War, and Missing Servicemembers, Hostomel community allocated over UAH 5.3 million to support residents. Assistance was provided to 315 individuals and families.

The first permanent prosthetics and rehabilitation center, U+ System, has opened in Kyiv. It offers comprehensive recovery services for both military personnel and civilians affected by the war. The center was designed as a multifunctional medical hub, where several types of assistance can be received in one place.

Sweden, through the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO), is supporting a reconstruction project in Irpin, which involves the use of Swedish technologies and expertise to demonstrate sustainable and cost-effective methods for managing construction waste after destruction. The project is being implemented with the participation of Swedish companies Scania and Volvo Construction Equipment (CE), which will provide specialized equipment—trucks and excavators.

The Blystavystski Teneta volunteer group  from the Bucha community delivered a large camouflage net measuring 12×10 meters to the fighters of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. According to Bucha City Council, the net is already on the front line, concealing the positions of Ukrainian defenders from enemy drones.

A photo exhibition titled “Ukrainian Peacekeepers – Defending Peace Worldwide” has opened at Bila Tserkva Local History Museum. It is dedicated to Ukrainian Peacekeeper Day, which is celebrated annually on July 15.

Zhytomyr oblast

In Zhytomyr region, a farewell ceremony was held for 22-year-old police officer Mariia Dziumaha, who was killed on July 10 during one of the largest missile attacks on Kyiv. Her family, fellow officers, friends, and fellow countrymen came to her hometown to pay their respects.

A veteran from Zviahel, Yevhen Medolyz, who lost his arm due to a war injury, now works as an administrator at the municipal institution, Zviahel Veteran’s Space. In his free time, he trains and participates in sports competitions. The 31-year-old veteran was mobilized in September 2022 and served in the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Magura.” Yevhen was wounded and lost his left arm in June 2023 during the counteroffensive in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

From June 30 to July 5, 2025, Korosten territorial community hosted children from Shevchenko village council in Mykolaiv oblast as part of the national program Side by Side: United Communities. The initiative aimed to create a safe environment for children from areas affected by armed aggression, providing emotional relief, rest, and new experiences.

Sumy oblast

The General Staff reported that there were 18 clashes towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk. The russian military carried out 21 airstrikes, dropped 38 guided bombs, and carried out 323 shelling attacks, including eight from multiple launch rocket systems.

 Sumy regional prosecutor’s office reports that on July 13, at about 3:40 pm, the russian military struck a motor-block with a drone, on which two brothers, civilians, were moving. One of them was killed, the other was wounded. The men were moving towards Khotyn community on the territory of Stetsky district. 

On the afternoon of July 13, the russian army struck critical infrastructure with a drone in the city of Sumy. Some houses were left without electricity, including three hospitals and other infrastructure facilities. Trolleybuses partially stopped moving around the city.

Oleh Hrihorov, Head of Sumy RMA, reports that on the afternoon of July 13, the russian army attacked Seredino-Buda community with a multiple launch rocket system. A 50-year-old local resident was injured as a result of the explosions. Residential buildings were also damaged.

From the morning of July 12 to the morning of July 13, russian troops carried out almost 70 attacks on 27 settlements in 13 territorial communities of the oblast. In Sumy community, two civilians (born in 1960 and born in 1960) were killed as a result of an attack by guided aerial bombs, two residential buildings were destroyed, and another 10 were damaged. In Shostka community, three people were injured as a result of drone strikes, and non-residential premises were damaged. In Krasnopillia community, a residential building was damaged.

Chernihiv oblast

The North Operational Command reported that on July 12, the russian military attacked the village of Zaliznyi Mist on the border of Chernihiv oblast with an FPV drone. According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA, the tractor driver was seriously injured as a result of the attack and was hospitalized. The tractor was also damaged.

Chernihiv border detachment reported that russian troops attacked four communities on the border of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Koriukivka and Snovsk. The shots were fired from mortars, artillery, and russians also used FPV drones and UAVs. There were 48 explosions. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of DOC, says that the enemy continues attacking Nikopol and Synelnykove regions. From evening until morning, the occupiers attacked the Nikopol region with drones and artillery. They targeted the regional center, Myrove, Pokrovske and Marhanets. The infrastructure was damaged. According to updated information, a dormitory was damaged due to the evening attacks in Nikopol. In Synelnykove region, Velykomykhailivka, Mezhova and Pokrovske communities were under enemy attacks. They were hit by GABs, MLRS and UAVs. A 37-year-old man was injured. There were fires. An educational institution was destroyed, a private house, an outbuilding, an enterprise, equipment and a car were damaged.

During the day, the enemy attacked Nikopol region about two dozen times with drones and artillery. They targeted the regional center, Myrove, Pokrovske and Marhanets communities. A 73-year-old woman was injured.

Fires broke out, 4 private houses, 3 outbuildings, a car, a garage, solar panels and a gas pipeline were damaged. According to updated information, 3 private houses, 2 outbuildings, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged in the morning shelling in Myrove community. Also, after yesterday’s enemy attacks, two more local residents turned to doctors for help. They are a 15-year-old boy and a 59-year-old man. In the afternoon, the enemy attacked Samar with drones. A 25-year-old man was injured. Infrastructure, high-rise buildings, cars and an educational institution were damaged. The enemy attacked Synelnykove region again. Velykomykhailivka community was hit. According to updated information, an 88-year-old woman was killed in the morning due to an enemy strike with GABs.

Kirovohrad oblast

A memorial event for prisoners of war and missing persons was held in the city of Pomichna, Novoukrainka region. It was organized by the relatives of the defenders. In total, 29 fighters from the community are considered missing,

Cherkasy oblast

A rally in support of prisoners of war and missing soldiers “Don’t be silent – captivity kills” was held in Cherkasy. About 200 people gathered with flags and posters – relatives, friends of the defenders, volunteers, military personnel and caring townspeople.

Poltava oblast

The enemy once again attacked the oblast with UAVs. Most of the weapons were shot down by air defense forces and means. Three residential buildings were damaged in Poltava community. One person was injured.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 12 July, the occupiers carried out 579 attacks on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces launched 7 airstrikes on Stepnohirsk, Plavni, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, and Charivne. 393 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Bilenke, Prymorske, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Shcherbaky, Preobrazhenka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Three MLRS attacks targeted Prymorske and Huliaipole. 176 artillery strikes hit Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne. Eleven reports were received about damaged apartments, private houses, garages, and vehicles. One person was killed and another injured due to enemy attacks.

On 12 July, five fires broke out in Vasylivka, Polohy, and Zaporizhzhia regions due to russian shelling. Residential buildings, utility structures, and dry grass burned. There were no casualties or injuries.

According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on July 13, russian troops twice attempted to advance Ukrainian positions, trying to move in the direction of Mali Shcherbaky and Novodanylivka towards Orikhiv.

On 12 July, in temporarily occupied Enerhodar, representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency discovered damage to the city council building where some Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) staff live. There is no information about casualties. Meanwhile, the occupiers again reported an alleged drone attack on the city. The IAEA is verifying the occupiers’ claim.

Mykolaiv oblast

On 12 July, the enemy carried out two artillery strikes and two FPV drone attacks on Kutsurub community. As a result of one of the strikes four residential buildings and utility structures were damaged in the village of Solonchaky. A fire broke out but was promptly extinguished. The roof of an educational institution was damaged, and dry grass caught fire in the village of Dmytrivka.

Also on 12 July, the enemy launched three FPV drone attacks on the waters of Ochakiv community. No casualties were reported.

Odesa oblast

Serviceman Serhii Turitsa returned to his native village in Odesa oblast from russian captivity. The defender had been held in russian captivity since September 2023. He was released as part of the third stage of the prisoner exchange, which took place on 25 May under the “1000 for 1000” format agreed upon by both sides.

As of 6:00 am on 13 July, three enemy ships were stationed in the Mediterranean Sea, including one Kalibr cruise missile carrier with a total salvo of up to 4 missiles. Over the past day, six vessels serving russian interests passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, and five ships entered the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

Around 11:30, the russian army shelled Bilozerka with artillery. A 40-year-old man who was inside his house at the time of the strike sustained a mine-blast injury, concussion, and shrapnel wounds to his back.

A resident of Kherson sought medical help after being hit by a russian drone overnight. A 72-year-old man sustained a mine-blast injury and a shrapnel wound to the thigh.

The enemy attacked Antonivka, Komyshany, Chornobaivka, Kizomys, Sadove, Nezlamne, Bilozerka, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Dniprovske, Prydniprovske, Beryslav, Zmiivka, Virivka, Kozatske, Vesele, Zolota Balka, Novovorontsovka, Novoraisk, Dudchany, Poniativka, Khreshchenivka, Mylove, Berehove, Lvove, Poniativka, Respublikanets, Tokarivka, Tiahynka, Chervonyi Maiak, and the city of Kherson. As a result of the attacks, five apartment buildings, 16 private houses, a gas pipeline, a household structure, and private vehicles were damaged. One person was killed and four others were injured due to Russian aggression.

According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 13 July, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults in the Prydniprovske direction. Over the past day, russian forces carried out nine offensive actions near Antonivskyi Bridge and Bilohrudyi Island. The enemy lost 33 personnel, seven artillery systems, 17 vehicles, two boats, four motorcycles, one electronic warfare system, three UAV control antennas, three generators, three fuel storage sites, and one ammunition storage site. Twenty-two shelters and five observation posts were destroyed.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Medic Anna Vavdiiuk opened a 2nd health and rehabilitation center in Lutsk. Defenders are helped to prepare for prosthetics and solve other problems with functioning. Many veterans have already received rehabilitation assistance at the centers of the Academy of Movement network.

Zakarpattia oblast

Representatives of the RMA met with representatives of the Lions Club of Ried im Innkreis, Upper Austria. They discussed the economic development of the oblast, the creation of industrial parks, attracting investors and supporting business during the war.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Since 27 May, a pyrotechnic unit from Ivano-Frankivsk oblast has been participating in a crucial mission – humanitarian demining of the territories of Kherson oblast. During this time, specialists have made 70 trips, inspected almost 49 hectares of land, and neutralized 138 explosive objects.

Lviv oblast

The number of people injured in the night attack in Lviv on 12 July has increased to 12. 9 people were treated on the spot by medics, three were hospitalized. Debris from enemy drones and cruise missiles is being found in various settlements in our region.

Volunteers from Germany brought 14 ambulances to Lviv. The keys to the ambulances were directly given to the Ukrainian military.

Rivne oblast

Over 40 children of missing and deceased servicemen went on an excursion to Lviv. These were children from Dubno and Zdolbuniv communities.

Ternopil oblast

40 children of fallen defenders of Ukraine from Ternopil oblast set off on a trip to Lithuania, where they will spend 10 days in the picturesque town of Kaltanienai, Svencioniai district. The summer camp for children was organized by the Strong Together Lithuanian charitable organization.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi City Council reported that in the first half of 2025, the community has already transferred almost 300 different UAVs.

Chernivtsi oblast

The number of people injured in Chernivtsi as a result of the russian strike on 12 July has increased to 26 people. 7 of them are in hospitals. Among the seven injured people in hospitals, three are in serious condition, four have undergone surgery. The other 19 were provided with medical assistance near their homes and in medical facilities.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Kaspar Veldkamp, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, announced the Netherlands will allocate EUR 300m for the reconstruction and strengthening of Ukraine this year and next.

Great Britain will supply Ukraine with 5,000 Thales air defense missiles as part of a major defense deal. The total value of the deal is 2.5bn pounds.

The Ramstein-style meeting is scheduled for the next 10 days. General Christian Freuding said the event will take place online under joint leadership of the UK and Germany.
