War in Ukraine today: latest news, 12 June, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 840th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 12 June, the total number of combat clashes along the entire front line increased to 89.

The occupiers continue to use aviation, in particular KABs, and attack in several directions, most actively towards Pokrovsk. The Ukrainian defense forces are holding the lines and taking all necessary measures to prevent the enemy breakthrough.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to advance five times. According to preliminary information, the enemy lost more than 90 servicemen. One armoured combat vehicle, one artillery system, five units of automotive equipment and one unit of special equipment were destroyed. Six artillery systems, one car and six units of special equipment were damaged.

Towards Kupiansk, the occupiers became more active in the vicinity of Terny. In total, 12 combat clashes took place there during the day, 5 of which are still ongoing. The enemy suffers losses.

Towards Siversk and Kramatorsk, the number of assaults by the occupiers increased to 13 and 8, respectively. According to preliminary data, the aggressor lost 73 people killed and 122 wounded in these areas. The defense forces destroyed four russian armoured fighting vehicles, seven cars and one cannon. A tank, three armoured personnel carriers, two units of automotive equipment and four artillery systems were damaged.

It is still the hottest towards Pokrovsk. Of the 31 enemy attacks, 12 are still ongoing. Clashes are taking place in the areas of Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Novopokrovsk and Netailove. 

Towards Kurakhove, fighting continues in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka. So far, that was the seventh attempt by the enemy to improve its position there.

Towards  theDnipro river area, fighting is taking place in the vicinity of Krynky. Ukrainian defenders are holding their positions. 

In other areas, the situation has not changed significantly.

Ivan Havryliuk, First Deputy Minister of Defense, informs that a new type of troops was presented in Ukraine – the Forces of Unmanned Systems. Ukraine became the first country in the world to create such type of troops. The symbol of the Forces of Unmanned Systems was a swallow created by a neural network, which symbolizes victory. Unmanned systems will help protect the lives of the military and defeat the enemy. 

The Ministry of Defense has launched a website where one can choose a position and  a unit for military service. The new platform also has information about recruiting centres.

Ukrzaliznytsia is introducing a new service for relatives of wounded soldiers. To redeem a special reservation at the ticket office, you must provide the original or a copy of the combatant certificate of your wounded relative, as well as a document confirming your relationship.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informs that towards Kharkiv, the russian federation is trying to create a so-called “security belt”, trying to move forward into the depths of Ukrainian combat formations. He noted that russian troops were bogged down in Vovchansk, despite the forces and means involved.

the press service of the State Emergency Service reported that russian troops struck the fire station in Lyptsi, rescuers were not injured. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out. 

The press service of the regional administration reported that at about 09:30am, two men were injured as a result of russian shelling of Kurylivka, Kupiansk region. 

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, says that a truck, drones and special equipment were handed over to the soldiers of zyum Separate Territorial Defense Battalion today. To ensure logistics, the warriors received a new Dongfeng truck. Also, 30 FPV drones, a drone control system, 12 tablets and an electronic boro device were delivered to Ukrainian soldiers

 Ihor Velychko, Head of the mechanized demining group of the State Emergency Service, reports that near Balakliya, Croatian remote-controlled vehicles are clearing mines. MV-4 is used to detect anti-personnel mines, MV-10 is used for anti-tank mines. According to him, both cars can cover several thousand square meters in a day.

Yaryna Vintoniuk, a representative of the Animal Rescue Kharkiv organization, informs that 1448 animals were evacuated within a month  after the start of a repeated russian offensive in the north of the region. According to her, the employees have come under russian fire more than once during this time, in particular, on 10 June in Vovchansk region, one of the animal rescuers received a concussion, and the other lost his hearing. Vintoniuk says that during the evacuation of animals from Vovchansk on 10 May, 4 cars were damaged by shelling.

The day before, on 11 June, at 7:00pm, Chuhuiv region, Vovchansk community, and the city of Vovchansk were affected. An FPV drone hit a car. A man was injured.

At 6:38pm, Chuhuiv community, near the village of Pishchane, was shelled. As a result of the shelling, two private houses and an outbuilding were on fire. 

At 5:54pm, as a result of the shelling of the village of Novoplatonivka, Izium region, a house on the square is on fire.

At 4:35pm, the village of Metalivka, Chuhuiv region, was shelled. As a result of the KAB-250 shelling, a private property was damaged. 

 At 08:30am, in Kupiansk region, Dvorichna community and the village of Kutkivka were shelled. A woman was injured as a result of the shelling.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders in the vicinity of Lyptsi and Vovchansk 5 times. All attacks were repelled. The aggressor was unsuccessful, the situation is under control.

Towards Kupiansk, the situation has not changed significantly, tension remains in the vicinity of Berestove, where the battle is currently ongoing. The enemy’s intentions to advance towards Synkivka failed. The situation is under the control of the Defense Forces.

A total of 11,790 people have been evacuated from Chuhuiv, Kharkiv, and Bohodukhiv regions since 10 May.

Donetsk oblast

Oleksandr Syrskyi,  Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was on the eastern front for several days, says that the russian army has concentrated the largest number of its assault units out of eight strike brigades towards Pokrovsk and Kurakhove, where “fierce fighting” is taking place.

The General Staff says in a statement that the russian army is most active towards Pokrovsk, Siversk and Kramatorsk. Towards Siversk, half of the 12 attacks of the occupiers were repelled today. Towards Kramatorsk six battles took place, one of which continues.

Kyrylo Sazonov, serviceman of the 41st Separate Mechanized Brigade, says that heavy fighting is taking place around Ivanivske near Chasiv Yar, but it is under the control of Ukrainian forces. Fighting also continues in Ivanivske itself.

Donetsk oblast police said that the White Angel police crew evacuated two elderly women from Krasnohorivka, Donetsk oblast, and their houses were destroyed due to shelling. A 72-year-old man was also taken out of the village of Yalezavetivka.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reports that 660 people still remain in Chasiv Yar, and 346 in Krasnohorivka. It is becoming more and more difficult to evacuate and deliver humanitarian aid to these cities every day.

In Dnipro, doctors from Kramatorsk were given a mobile outpatient clinic. With its help, it will be possible to measure blood pressure and sugar levels, do a cardiogram and ultrasound, as well as resuscitate a person.

Operational situation in the region as of the morning of 12 June :

Pokrovsky region. In Kurakhove community, 4 two-story buildings in Hirnyk, 6 private houses in Kurakhivka and an industrial zone in Kurakhove were damaged.

Kramatorsk region. In Lyman community, Terny and Yampolivka were shelled. In Mykolaiv community, an infrastructure facility was damaged. In Kostiantynivka, a person was injured and 2 high-rise buildings damaged. In Illinivka community, the outskirts of Dovha Balka were shelled.

Bakhmut region. In Toretsk, 3 infrastructure facilities were damaged, and 14 private houses in Pivnichnyi damaged. In Chasiv Yar community, 4 private houses and 2 industrial buildings were damaged. In Siversk, 6 houses were damaged.

In total, during the day, the russians shelled the settlements of Donetsk oblast 15 times. 116 people, including 24 children, were evacuated from the front line.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, says that over the past day, the russians injured 1 resident in Kostiantynivka.

Luhansk oblast

On 11 June, the occupiers intensively used aviation. They hit Nevske with four guided aerial bombs, and Bilohorivka with six more. In addition, the invaders shelled Nevske with mortars, barrel and rocket artillery. There are also hits in Stelmakhivka, Kuzemivka and Makiivka. The enemy stormed near Nevsky, Hrekivka and in Serebrianka forest.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy lost 134 people wounded and killed during the day. Four guns and four enemy cars were damaged.

Towards Lyman, 69 russian soldiers were killed and wounded. Several more invaders surrendered.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military AdministrationIn, states that in the occupied part of Kherson oblast, the russians were looking for those wishing to enter Luhansk Academy of the Investigative Committee of the russian federation. A set of verification measures, psychodiagnostic testing, abilities and motivation were checked. Only 7 people were found.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, military registration and enlistment offices of the russian federation are conducting an open hunt in Luhansk, Pervomaisk, Brianka, and Kadiivka. It is in these cities that the population complains the most about the arbitrariness of the occupiers.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

At night, the enemy attacked Kyiv oblast with missiles and UAVs. Air defence forces actively confronted the attack and no hits to residential or critical infrastructure were recorded. One person was injured as a result of falling debris.

Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv RMA, said that a fire broke out at an industrial facility in one of the districts as a result of the falling fragments. Fire and rescue units from Kyiv oblast, Kyiv, and Ukrzaliznytsia were involved in extinguishing the fire. The falling pieces also damaged a private house, a petrol station and a garage, and put a warehouse on fire.

There were no casualties or damage in Kyiv. According to KMMA, the enemy launched a combined attack on the capital: attack UAVs were moving from the south and cruise missiles X-101/X-555/X-55 were fired from Tu-95MS strategic bombers in several waves. All air targets were destroyed by the air defence forces.

KSCA reported that on the night of 12 June, during the air raid, 6,100 people, including 600 children, took refuge in Kyiv metro stations. 46 underground metro stations are operating around the clock in a shelter mode. During the air raid, all lobbies of the underground stations are open to the public without exception. Modular benches, folding chairs, blankets and mattresses are available at the stations.

On 13 June, Kyiv will hold a memorial service for Arsen Fedosenko, a deceased military photographer and captain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A graphic artist by training, Arsen Fedosenko was engaged in photography before the full-scale invasion. He worked in publishing, advertising, and education. Since 2010, he has been engaged in artistic and cultural photo projects in cooperation with the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and the Italian Embassy.

KCSA announced reconstruction of the future social rehabilitation centre located in Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. After completion, the building will have 4 floors, dozens of rooms for rehabilitation and recreation, as well as a shelter with radiation protection for more than 120 people.

The Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery informed that it has received integrated energy storage and transmission systems that provide backup power during power outages. The assistance came from the US charity Direct Relief and the Yevhen Pivovarov Charitable Foundation.

Zhytomyr oblast

Oleksii Sheketa, Chairman of the Board of Zhytomyroblenerho JSC announced that starting in July, residents of Zhytomyr oblast will experience a significant electricity shortage due to the repair of nuclear power units. Critical infrastructure facilities, electric transport and street lighting may be disconnected, and hospitals in Zhytomyr and the region should carefully prepare for possible emergencies in the power grid. 

The Centre for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine has announced a tender for the purchase of 60 bulletproof vests and 175 helmets. The expected cost is over UAH 3m, which will be funded from the company’s business activities.

Sumy oblast

 According to Ukrenergo, a drone attack damaged one of its power facilities in Sumy oblast overnight. The power supply was cut off to 14 settlements. Consumers are currently being reconnected.

At night and in the morning, russian forces attacked border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast seven times. According to the RMA, there were 20 explosions, including mortar attacks, UAV drops, an NSA air strike (7 explosions) and the use of small arms. Khotin, Myropillia, Krasnopillia and Bilopillia communities were shelled.

Over the past day, the russian military conducted 15 attacks in Sumy oblast – there were 39 attacks from various types of weapons. Seven border communities were shelled: Khotin, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Shalyhyne.

Sumy Regional Centre for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine received 5 modern resuscitation vehicles. The new special equipment was purchased with the support of the state and partners, including the Government of Korea, the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, the United Nations Development Programme and the UNITED-24 programme.

Sumy ATC reported that Invincibility points will operate in 16 communities of the oblast. So far, they have already been opened in Hlukhiv, Putyvl, Shostka and Sumy communities, and 312 people have been able to use their services. At these centres, specialists will provide mental support and help visitors overcome stress and recover from crisis situations.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that over the past day, russian troops launched 13 mortar attacks against Nova Bleshnia and Leonivka in Semenivka community.

In Chernihiv, the building of school No. 18, destroyed on 3 March 2022 as a result of a russian airstrike, is being dismantled. The work began in late May with the manual removal of the roof. The demolition of the building itself with the help of special equipment began on 11 June. All dismantling work should be completed by 23-30 June.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

At night, 11 enemy Shaheds were shot down over the oblast, 4 each in Novomoskovsk and Synelnykove regions, as well as Dnipro, Pavlohrad and Kamianske regions.  An enemy strike in Sinelnykove region wounded 3 people, including a child – a man and a woman aged 39 and 40, as well as their son aged 13. 9 private houses were damaged. In the evening, the occupiers shelled Nikopol with artillery.

In the morning, 2 kamikaze drones attacked Nikopol. A 17-year-old boy was wounded. He has shrapnel wounds and was hospitalized in moderate condition. The occupiers were shelling Nikopol all day long. There were about two dozen attacks. The region’s center, Myrove, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovsk communities were hit with kamikaze drones and artillery. Multi-storey buildings, a dozen private houses, an infrastructure facility, outbuildings, garages, cars, a minibus, and power lines were damaged. Currently, the rescue operation in Kryvyi Rih continues. The death toll increased to 8 people. At least 21 people were injured, including two children. Another 4 people are considered missing. The enemy launched a missile attack on residential areas of the city this afternoon. The search operation is ongoing. Employees of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, utilities, and volunteers are doing everything possible to save as many people as possible. Dog handlers with search dogs and psychologists are working at the scene.

Vinnytsia oblast

The air defense was on alert in Vinnytsia oblast at night. There were no casualties or damage.

It became known that 8 defenders from Vinnytsia oblast were killed. These are Denys Badik, Yaroslav Bozhko, Vitalii Vasylets, Oleksandr Bolesko, Oleksandr Knizhnyk, Yurii Tykhyi, Roman Horeiko and Yurii Bereza.

Vinnytsia Museum will host a photo exhibition of the fallen defender Yurii Myhun titled “Aeneas: Unfilmed”. At the beginning of the full-scale war, Yurii Myhun (“Aeneas”) organized territorial defense of his native village of Shchaslyva, and in March he joined the ranks of the Marine Corps Brigade. In May 2023, he was awarded the medal “For Military Service to Ukraine”. He was killed on 14 June, 2023, in a close combat during the liberation of Staromaiorske village in Donetsk oblast.

Kirovohrad oblast

Several soldiers from Kirovohrad oblast were killed in russia’s war against Ukraine. These are Oleksandr Kalenyk from Haivoron, Volodymyr Sovenko from Velykoanka community, Oleksii Didenko from Dolynska, and Vitalii Horbach from Onufriivka.

Oleksandr Kalenyk was killed on 3 June near the town of Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, Kharkiv oblast. He was 41 years old.

Volodymyr Sovenko was killed on 8 June in the village of Dvorichanske, Kupiansk region, Kharkiv oblast. He was 43 years old.

Oleksii Didenko was killed while performing a combat mission on 5 June.

Vitalii Horbach, born in 1994, was killed on June 9 during a combat mission near the city of Vovchansk, Kharkiv oblast.

Poltava oblast

At night, air defense was on alert in Poltava oblast. That night, there were reports of UAVs and missiles in the oblast.

In Poltava, the community paid tribute to five fallen defenders. Mykola Dykopavlenko, 48, was killed on 6 June as a result of a mine detonation. It happened near Kostiantynivka, Donetsk oblast.

Vladyslav Bilokin was killed on 1 June as a result of a small arms battle near Vovchansk, Kharkiv oblast. The soldier was 29 years old.

Yevhen Stativka was killed on June 1. It happened as a result of a small arms battle near Vovchansk, Kharkiv oblast. Yevhen was 37 years old.

Denys Lipitskyi, 38, was killed on May 25 during hostilities near Berestove, Kharkiv oblast.

Kostiantyn Kombalin was killed on June 4 while on combat duty to protect and defend a road crossing over the Oskil River after an airstrike on the crossing. It was near the village of Senkove, Kharkiv oblast. Kostiantyn was 41 years old.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, reported that an attack drone was destroyed in Cherkasy oblast during the  night. There were no casualties or damage.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 12 June, at around 12:49, the sound of explosions was heard in the city of Zaporizhzhia. According to Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the russian army targeted an critical infrastructure facility.

Yesterday, the occupiers carried out 547 attacks on Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy launched 7 airstrikes on Huliaipole, Robotyne, and Piatykhatky. A total of 206 UAVs of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. Additionally, 23 MLRS attacks targeted Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Huliaipole. Furthermore, 311 artillery strikes were conducted on the areas of Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Charivne, Myrne, Huliaipilske, Novokarlivka, Mali Shcherbaky, and Stepnohirsk. There were 11 reports of housing destruction.

It is reported that the enemy made two attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Mala Tokmachka towards Orikhiv. No positions were lost.

Mykolaiv oblast

On 11 June, at 13:23, the russian army shelled the waters of Ochakiv community with artillery. Later, at 19:55, the enemy attacked the village of Solonchaky in Kutsurub community with two FPV kamikaze drones. Two private houses and one car were damaged as a result of the attack. There were no casualties.

Lower Saxony has provided Mykolaiv oblast with ten vehicles for transporting students. These vehicles will be used to transport children from rural areas of Mykolaiv oblast to central schools equipped with shelters.

Odesa oblast

On the morning of 12 June, 2024, the enemy attacked Odesa oblast from the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea with an Iskander-M ballistic missile.

Odesa oblast has signed a Memorandum of Partnership with Italy for the post-war reconstruction of Odesa and Odesa oblast. The cooperation will focus on urban planning, digital technologies, energy and environmental security, as well as the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, support for youth, culture, and tourism. Specifically, the Italian side intends to invest in the restoration of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa, which was destroyed by a russian missile.

Kherson oblast

Yesterday, the enemy attacked Stanislav, Sadove, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Tokarivka, Veletenske, Berehove, Zarichne, Inhulets, Novodmytrivka, Beryslav, Tiahynka, Novovorontsovka, Osokorivka, Lvove, Olhivka, Mykhailivka, Monastyrske, Burhunka, and the city of Kherson. A high-rise building, 22 private houses, critical infrastructure facilities, a shopping complex, an administrative building, and vehicles were damaged. Three people were injured due to the russian aggression.

Residents of Dariivka community are participating in reconstruction and improvement of their settlements. So far, 35 residents are involved in socially useful works improving the community’s infrastructure, conducting repair work in public premises, unloading and distributing humanitarian aid, and maintaining a social laundry.

Lithuanian and Ukrainian performers presented a concert program in Kherson oblast. The concerts were held at several locations, including a medical facility, Kherson art hub, and the village of Soniachne.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The Military unit A 0656 received 20 DartBee 7 quadcopters, 2 DJI Mavic 3T Enterprise (Thermal) and 2 DJI Mavic 3E quadcopters thanks to the budget funds of Lutsk community.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the managers of Zakarpattiaoblenerho PJSC, Zakarpattia branch of Hazmerezhi LLC, owners of autonomous energy enterprises, and economists to discuss the details of the region’s energy decentralisation strategy. They discussed energy security of Zakarpattia in the conditions of war.

The Regional Council reported that children whose parents were killed during the war, were seriously injured or went missing will be able to attend summer swimming pools, accompanied by adults.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that the community sent 80 combat drones to the 81th Separate Airmobile Brigades.

As part of the social project Care for the Hero’s Family, for the families of Heroes, missing servicemen, veterans and their families, a tour of a horse farm located in a forest area was held, and after the tour, all volunteers and participants were able to ride horses. The purpose of this event was social support for the families of Heroes, missing servicemen, veterans and their families, their physical and psychological recovery, adaptation to the peaceful life of veterans and their families, popularisation of a healthy lifestyle and equestrian sports.

Lviv oblast

Kaisa Ollongren, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, arrived in Lviv oblast on a working visit. Together with the representatives of Lviv RMA, she commemorated the defenders, whose lives were taken by the russian-Ukrainian war, at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Oleh Shumei (SHUMEI), singer and musician, donated 5 FPV drones to the 103rd Ground Defense Brigade. His team has repeatedly helped the Armed Forces. Specifically, over 20 DJI Mavics have already been sent to military servicemen from Lviv oblast.

Serhii Varava and Mykola Rudnytskyi, military servicemen from Zolochiv region, were posthumously awarded with the III degree Order of Courage by the President of Ukraine. Honours were handed over to relatives of fallen soldiers

Rivne oblast

Rivne oblast welcomed the 7th evacuation train with 30 people, including 12 children, from Donetsk oblast. All evacuees will be accommodated in communities of the region. Traditionally, during the meeting at the station, the arrivals received stipulated payments, medical and psychological assistance.

Sarnen school received modern equipment, namely, 9 road construction machines, 4 spare parts and 3 training units to improve training of construction students from the EU, the German development bank KfW and the Ministry of Education.

Ternopil oblast

150 children from Ternopil oblast went to the summer camp. Among them are children of active and deceased military personnel, from large families, children of IDPs and those who are in difficult life circumstances. In total, 660 tickets to summer camps for children of socially vulnerable categories were purchased with the funds of Ternopil RMA.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

A Safety Classroom was opened at the Lyceum of the village of Antonina. The educational space is designed for obtaining safe knowledge not only for lyceum students, but also for all children of a large community. Currently, Khmelnytskyi is one of the leaders among oblasts in the creation and operation of Safety Classrooms in educational institutions.

Chernivtsi oblast

In Chernivtsi oblast, the curfew outside the population centres has changed. From 17 June 2024, it will last from 23:00 pm to 04:00 am.

Storozhinetsk Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Hospital and Chernivtsi Emergency Medical Care Hospital received new ambulances thanks to the Red Cross of Ukraine, the Red Cross of Lower Austria and the Red Cross of Italy.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

On 11 and 12 June, the Ukraine Recovery Conference – URC2024 will be held in Berlin. Over 3,000 participants are leaders of the governments of a number of countries, international organisations, business and civil society. Germany and Ukraine jointly host the Conference under the slogan United in Defense. United in Recovery. Stronger Together.

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, stated that in the summer, Ukraine will receive €3.4bn in aid, in particular from the frozen assets of the russian federation.

Penny Pritzker, US Special Representative for the Economic Recovery of Ukraine, stated that her country allocated $824m to support Ukraine’s energy industry.

Germany confirmed that together with Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands it will finance the repurchase of a Patriot system so that 100 Patriot missiles can be quickly sent to Ukraine. Norway will allocate €125m for this cooperation.

Kaisa Ollongren, Head of the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands, reported that her country allocated €60m for drones for Ukraine. Of these funds, €20m will go towards the purchase of FPV drones through the drone coalition. Another €17.5m is intended for the purchase of marine drones, including their production within Ukraine. The rest of the funds will go to bilateral supplies of drones and will be allocated to purchases from the Dutch industry.

Hanno Pevkur, Minister of Defense of Estonia, announced that his country will send Mistral anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine to strengthen Ukrainian air defence. He emphasised that Ukraine urgently needs air defence to repel russia’s long-term attack, and such help is also in the interests of Estonia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, together with Boris Pistorius, German Defense Minister, visited the 21st anti-aircraft missile group in the city of Zanitz. At its base, Ukrainian defenders train to work on a Patriot air defence system.

Madonna supported the Global Peace Summit in her social networks. The singer emphasised that world leaders will gather in Switzerland on 15 June for the Global Peace Summit dedicated to ending the war in Ukraine and the return of over 19,000 Ukrainian children who were taken from their families and deported to russia.
