The enemy, despite the significant losses caused by our defenders, continues to try to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops. Today the situation is the most intense in Liman, Kurakhove and Pokrovsk sectors.
In total, more than 90 combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day.
Systematic insidious attacks by enemy artillery and aviation along the border of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts continue. Today, enemy artillery shelling from the territory of russia hit the areas of Oleksandriya, Bilopillya, Shalygino, Yelino, Klyusy, Pavlivka, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Progress and Popivka. In addition, the enemy attacked the areas of Golyshivske and Riky with UAVs, dropping a total of five aerial bombs.
According to available information, russians carried out six air strikes in the Kursk oblast today, using seven aircraft bombs.
Today, in Kharkiv sector, russian occupants stormed the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops twice near Vovchansk.
In Kupyansk sector, the enemy actively attacked the positions of our troops five times in the areas of Sinkivka, Lozova, Kolisnykivka and Stepova Novoselivka. Ukrainian soldiers are holding steadfastly, with fighting taking place in two locations. The occupant launched air strikes with CABs on Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi and Podoly.
Today, in Liman sector, the invading army made 21 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Druzhelyubivka, Hrekivka, Ploschanka, Nevske, Makiivka, Novosadove, Torske and in Serebryansky forest. Nine combat engagements have ended and 12 are ongoing. Yampil and Lyman came under attack with guided aerial bombs, and the enemy used unguided aerial missiles against Serebryanske forestry.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks by the occupying army near Verkhnekamianske.
In Kramatorsk sector, the invaders made five assaults on the positions of our troops near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar and Stupochky. One firefight is currently underway. The situation is under control.
The number of hostile attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to four. The enemy concentrated their efforts in the area of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, where the Defence Forces repelled two attacks and two firefights are still ongoing. The occupants are actively using aviation in this area, in particular, the areas of Toretsk and Katerynivka are being bombed.
Since the beginning of the day in the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy has already made 15 attempts to push our defenders from their positions near the towns of Selydove, Krutyi Yar, Promin, Lysivka, Myroliubivka and Kalynove. The defence forces are holding back the attack and have repelled 14 enemy attacks so far. The enemy’s losses are being clarified.
Fighting continues near Novoselidivka, Kreminna Balka, Tsukuryne, Heorhiivka, Kostyantynivka, Katerynivka and Antonivka in Kurakhove sector. According to the updated information, nine attacks of the invading army have been repelled so far, and three attacks are still ongoing.
In the Vremivka sector, the enemy is attacking in the direction of Bohoyavlenka. Three enemy assaults have already been repelled by Ukrainian troops, four combat engagements are ongoing.
In the Orikhivsk sector, the occupants made two unsuccessful attempts to attack our units near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyno. Also today, enemy aircraft attacked Zaporizhzhia with three aircraft bombs.
In Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy tried three times to force Ukrainian troops out of their positions, with one firefight ongoing.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksiy Kuleba reported that Almost 300 facilities, 177 vehicles and 22 civilian vessels have been damaged or destroyed as a result of 60 russian attacks over the past three months. In addition, 79 people were injured, including port workers, logistics companies and ship crews.
Colonel Volodymyr Rochniak, Head of the Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment announced that More than 170 Ukrainian drones have been permitted into operation since the beginning of the year. Over the first 9 months of 2024, more than 140 unmanned aerial vehicles and 33 ground robotic systems made in Ukraine were approved for use.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that Ukraine’s defence forces have hit the Khanska airfield in the Republic of Adygea, russia. It is noted that Su-34 and Su-27 aircraft were based at the airfield.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
According to Oleg Synehubov, the head of the RMA, the occupiers hit the village of Cherkasy Lozova of the Kharkiv district. Among the injured, there are three children: 2, 5, and 15 years old with an acute reaction to stress. Oleksandr Hololobov, head of the Malodanyliv community, reported that the village’s power lines and two houses were damaged – a tree was hit nearby.
According to the Derhachi CMA Viacheslav Zadorenko, the russian federation hit the open territory near Dementiyivka at around 15:20 with KAB (a correctable air bomb). As a result of the explosion, there was a fire of dead wood, and there was no information about the wounded.
The day before, at 15:35, the city of Kharkiv, Shevchenkivskyi district was shelled. As a result of the shelling, the windows of 12-story residential buildings, a car dealership, a store, and a preschool educational institution were damaged. An 81-year-old woman was injured, without hospitalization.

The number of combat clashes per day towards Kupiansk direction reached seventeen. The defense forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of Kucherivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Vyshnevo, Novoosynovo, Zelenyi Hai and Kruhliakivka.
Donetsk oblast
The largest number of attacks is in the Kurakhiv and Pokrovsky directions. The Armed Forces repelled 94 attacks per day in the east, the General Staff said.
In the Pokrovsky direction, Ukrainian fighters repelled 25 assaults near Sukhoi Balka, Novotoretskyi, Myrolyubivka, Krutoy Yar, Promen, Lysivka, and Sukhoi Yar. The main efforts of the Russian military were concentrated in the areas of Selidovoy, where 13 battles took place.
In the Kurakhivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 31 attacks in the districts of Hirnyk, Novoselidivka, Kurakhivka, Tsukurynogo, Gostroy, Georgiivka, Kostyantynivka, Katerynivka, and Antonivka.

In just one day, the Russians shelled populated areas of Donetsk region 15 times. 528 people, including 89 children, were evacuated from the front line.

Luhansk oblast
The enemy is constantly attacking near the villages in the Limansky direction. Our defenders repulse the enemy’s onslaught near Grekivka, Andriivka, Makiivka, Balka Zhuravka. The specified settlements are under the target fire of the Russians. If we take into account Balka Zhuravka, its invaders fired 19 times with barrel artillery. 59 drones were directed towards the Ukrainian Defenders.
Fires in the occupied Luhansk region will be put out by volunteer wives on a free basis. At the next meeting of the so-called “People’s Council of the People’s Republic of China”, the relevant “draft law” should be approved. They are considering the introduction of two types of voluntary fire departments – territorial and object. The first will be created on the territories of one or more administrative-territorial entities, and the second – at the place of work or study. In case of injury or death, no social guarantees are provided.
The invaders continue to look for money to fulfill the Kremlin’s instructions regarding the construction of landfills on the territory of the so-called “LNR”, Luhansk OVA reported. Currently, they are considering the cheapest option – to try to restore the capacity of the non-farm waste processing plant in Rovenki.
The Russians have increased the number of air strikes on the Serebryan Forest and other areas of the front, said the head of the Luhansk OVA, Artem Lysogor. He also noted that over the past three weeks, the number of offensive actions and shelling by the invaders in Luhansk Region has increased – however, the enemy is suffering significant losses there. The occupiers have significant problems with the restoration of the centralized heating system in the frontline cities.

Kyiv oblast
Kyiv Regional State Administration signed a memorandum with the French company MATIERE. Cooperation with MATIERE will be aimed at rebuilding the Kyiv oblast. In particular, as part of the cooperation, the partners are negotiating the implementation of projects to restore bridge structures. It is planned to repair 5 bridges located in Vyshhorod, Bila Tserkva, Fastiv, Brovary and Bucha districts in the framework of cooperation.
Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv RMA, reported that a modern rehabilitation centre for the military has been opened in Bila Tserkva community. The centre will provide assistance to all servicemen with serious injuries and combat traumas. Up to 20 patients will be able to receive the necessary treatment at the same time. The area of the facility is almost 300 m2. The overhaul was funded by the community. It has comfortable wards, a room for hardware treatment, physical and medical rehabilitation, a massage room, the necessary technical facilities and common areas.
Zhytomyr oblast
Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that today, 10 October, the head of the Zhytomyr RMA Vitaliy Bunechko met with representatives of the American charity August Mission from Utah, Nicholas Edbrook Fowler and David Edgell. During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation and possible projects that could be recommended for implementation by the government and NGOs of Utah and Indiana. Important areas discussed with American colleagues included support for IDPs and war veterans, training for rehabilitation and medical professionals, and the exchange of experience in the field of mental health.
The Department of Agricultural Development and Economic Policy of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration counted that 63.3% of the sown area was harvested in Zhytomyr oblast. According to operational indicators, as of 03.10.2024, all categories of oblast farms harvested 1.2 mln tonnes of grains and legumes from an area of 282.4 thousand hectares, which is 303.9 thousand tonnes (32%) more than in 2023. The average yield was 44.1 centners per hectare.
Zhytomyr RMA reported that since the beginning of 2024, 27 employers in the Zhytomyr oblast have received compensation from the state totalling over UAH 1.7 million for special furniture and equipment purchased for employees with disabilities. This includes hydraulic trolleys, trolleys for transporting goods, an electric stacker, computers, laptops, chairs, a crane and a lift, office furniture, a rangefinder, a mega meter, a dough mixer, an interactive panel, a mobile stand, a concrete mixer, a frontal dishwasher, a tool kit and personal protective equipment. Convenient working conditions have been created for 28 employees with group II disabilities, including 8 women and 20 men, including 5 participants in hostilities. The employees include a CNC machine operator, engineer, chief mechanic, HR manager, psychologist, nurse, office administrator, designer, accountants, drivers, electrician, installer of sanitary systems and equipment, boiler room operator, shoe assembler, and auxiliary workers.

During night and morning, russians carried out 42 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 65 explosions. The attacks targeted Mykolaivka, Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Richky, Putyvl, Nova Slobidka, Shalyhyne, Esman communities.
During the day, on 9 October, russians carried out 99 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 141 explosions. The attacks targeted Mykolaivka, Khotin, Myropilia, Richky, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Shalyhyne, Esman, Svrsa, Druzhbivka, seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novhorod communities.

According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, in Sumy Oblast, emergency medical doctors received 90 emergency aid kits purchased by UNICEF. The kits contain essential materials for treating trauma, severe injuries, and critical conditions. They include supplies like medications to stop bleeding, bandages, limb immobilisation splints, surgical instruments, and basic equipment for initial surgical care and patient stabilisation during the first crucial moments after an incident. Each kit is equipped to handle up to 10 severe injuries, ensuring the centre readiness to respond to complex situations and emergencies.
Chernihiv oblast
The enemy attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast.
Novhorod-Siverskyi community:
– 22 hits, drop explosive devices from an unmanned aerial vehicle in Hremiach village;

– 6 hits by the barrel artillery in Buchki village;

No casualties or injuries among the local population were reported as a result of the shelling.
Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, museums in Chernihiv Oblast have received over UAH 2.5m in donations from charitable organisations. Additionally, UAH 814,000 have been allocated from the regional budget for the restoration of museums. According to Chernihiv Regional State Administration, the region has 39 museums, including national reserves, with eight under regional jurisdiction. Since 2022, seven museums in the region have been destroyed or damaged by the russian army.
Chernihiv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC and SP) reported that on 10 October, Chernihiv Oblast residents paid tribute to soldier Mykhailo Savchenko, who died on 4 October, 2024, during a combat mission in Donetsk Oblast.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk RMA, reported that today, Kryvyi Rih was attacked by enemy UAVs. There are injured people as a result of the attack. Thanks to the prompt actions of emergency services, 7 people, including a 16-year-old child, were rescued. Another 26 people were evacuated. All necessary assistance is being provided to the injured. The roof and stairwell of one entrance to a five-story building were destroyed.
During the night and morning, air defence forces were active in the oblast. The defenders of the skies shot down 8 enemy Shahed drones. The enemy attacked Nikopol region about 10 times by artillery and kamikaze drones. The strikes targeted the regional centre, Myrove and Chervonohryhorivka communities, damaging a private house, an outbuilding and infrastructure. There were no casualties reported.
In Dnipro, a farewell ceremony was held for 21-year-old combat medic Viacheslav Lehkyi, callsign Skif. He voluntarily went to the front in October 2022, serving in the 67th Separate Mechanised Brigade and operating in Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts. He was killed on Lyman axis.
Vinnytsia oblast
As reported by Vinnytsia City Council, Vinnytsia has provided 255 FPV drones, a vehicle and a charging station to the Artan special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the 59th Motorised Infantry Brigade.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, said that air defence systems were active over Kirovohrad oblast last night.
Poltava oblast
In Poltava oblast, a 2nd session of canistherapy for wounded soldiers was held. This is a psychological rehabilitation program that uses dogs. During the therapy, the soldiers observed the work of service dogs and interacted directly with them. Plans are underway to continue canistherapy sessions in hospitals.
Cherkasy oblast

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, russian forces carried out 3 airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia. 6 people were injured. A 17-year-old girl, 2 women and 3 men received medical assistance on-site and declined further hospitalisation.

Mykolaiv oblast
Vitalii Kim, Head of the RMA, said that throughout the day, several enemy attacks targeted critical infrastructure in Mykolaiv. As of 2pm, 2 people were injured.
On the evening of 9 October, russian forces attacked Mykolaiv, presumably by X-59/X-69 cruise missiles. There were no casualties reported. The strike targeted an infrastructure facility on the outskirts of the city.
Odesa oblast
Oleh Kiper, Head of the RMA, reported that on the evening of 9 October, 8 people were killed as a result of a russian ballistic attack on port infrastructure in Odesa oblast. Rescue equipment was damaged, but the rescuers managed to reach safety during a repeat attack.
Kherson oblast
According to the prosecutor’s office, on 10 October, around 5:30pm, russian forces dropped explosives from a drone on a medical facility in Kherson, injuring a nurse.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, said that russian forces shelled Tcentralnyi district of Kherson, damaging an autocenter, trolleybus network, cars and residential windows. A 16-year-old girl with an acute stress reaction received on-site assistance.
In the morning, russian forces attacked Kherson, injuring a 56-year-old man who was on the street. He sustained an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to his leg.
The russian forces shelled a postal office in centre of Kherson overnight, causing damage but no casualties. Windows, the roof, walls, building’s fence and service vehicles were damaged.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, informed that during the night drone attack, air defence units in the skies over Kherson oblast shot down a russian Shahed-131/136 UAV.

Volyn oblast
Leading Canadian neurosurgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, microsurgeons and anesthesiologists were in Volyn oblast for a week and shared their experience with Volyn colleagues. Specialists of Volyn Regional Hospital took over the experience in treating the wounded and traumatised, primarily the servicemen of the Armed Forces, with massive defects of soft tissues and bones of the skull and limbs. Limbs of some soldiers were saved, and the faces of others, which were badly damaged in the battle, were restored.
The 1st Rifle Battalion of the Military Unit A 7028 received 2 DJI Mavic 3T quadcopters from Lutsk community.
Zakarpattia oblast
The oblast will be equipped with 3 more Security Classrooms thanks to the financial support of the Save the Children international non-governmental organisation in cooperation with the RMA.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The RMA reported that the 50th Regiment named after Semen Vysochan received electronic warfare equipment worth over UAH 220,000.
Lviv oblast
The Golden Star Order with the title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) was awarded to Yurii Tymus, soldier aviator, lieutenant colonel from Brody, Zolochiv region. Its last flight took place on 31 March 2022. The crew of which he was the commander was returning with wounded defenders of the surrounded Azovstal and was hit by the enemy.
Memorial plaques in honour of fallen defenders of Ukraine were installed on the facade of Novo Kalinov lyceum, where Heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of the Motherland once studied.
Rivne oblast
Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, reported that Rivne oblast accepted twice as many IDPs as promised. At the beginning of the year, the oblast declared to accept 500 IDPs from Donetsk oblast. It was possible to increase the number of places and, as a result, accommodate 910 people. They discussed the situation on the battlefield, the defence needs of Ukrainian soldiers and current issues of bilateral relations.

Sebastien Gobert, French journalist, covered the way from Lviv to Brussels by bicycle in order to raise funds for the Armed Forces. He travelled a distance of more than 2,136 km and visited five countries during the 25-day journey. The journalist managed to collect more than 315 thousand hryvnias for the French volunteer Jonathan Loups, who defends Ukraine as part of the 66th separate mechanised brigade.
