The enemy does not cease attempts to advance into the depths of Ukraine’s territory. To date, the enemy has attacked the positions of the Defence Forces 80 times. It is most active in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions.
The border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts continue to suffer from russian artillery shelling – the settlements of Luhivka, Khrinivka, Iskryskivka, Yelino, Pokrovka, Mkhy, Striletska Pushkarka, Semenivka, Vodolahy, Oleksandrivka were affected.
The enemy carried out air strikes near the settlements of Richky in Sumy oblast; Katerynivka in Kharkiv oblast; Toretsk, Yablunivka, Kalynove, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Oleksandr-Kalynove and Chunyshyne in Donetsk oblast.
Today, russian aviation has conducted six air strikes, dropping 14 guided aerial bombs on the territory of Kursk oblast of the russian federation.

The Kramatorsk sector was attacked five times near Minkivka, Chasovyi Yar, Oleksandr-Shultyno, Bila Hora and Stupochky.
To date, nine attacks have taken place in the Toretsk sector. The enemy actively used bomber aircraft to strike near Toretsk, Nelipivka, Shcherbynivka and Diliyivka, seven of the clashes are still ongoing.
With the support of aviation, since the beginning of the day in the Pokrovsk sector, the occupants have carried out 13 attacks on the positions of our defenders in the areas of Sukha Balka, Novotoretske, Mirolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Sukhyi Yar and Selydove. The defence forces have already repelled 12 enemy attacks, and one clash is still ongoing.
21 combat engagements took place in the Kurakhove sector today, where the invaders are most actively trying to advance in the areas of Hirnyk, Novoselydivka, Tsukurino, Horoshne, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka and Antonivka. Five battles are still ongoing.
Near Bohoyavlenka in the Vremivsk sector, the invaders attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions five times, and the fighting is still ongoing.
In the Prydniprovsky sector, russian invaders tried to dislodge our units from their positions four times, and the battle is still ongoing.

The Ministry of Defence has put new models of armoured vehicles with mine and ambush protection into service. The arsenal of armoured vehicles has also been expanded to include MRAP technology, which is used by Ukrainian defence manufacturers. Armoured vehicles based on the MRAP principle consist of a capsule that protects personnel during explosions. The engine and wheels act as explosion-absorbing elements that absorb all the kinetic energy from the mine explosion, preserving the integrity of the module.
The Ukrainian army has started using robotic dogs at the front. The four-legged drones are very compact, durable and manoeuvrable, which allows them to reach places where an aerial drone cannot (trenches or buildings). They are used to detect booby traps and monitor the movement of russian troops, which significantly reduces the risk to Ukrainian reconnaissance men.

Kharkiv oblast
The Ukrainian military notes that the Russian army has started to use North Korean-made projectiles more in Vovchansk, said Vitaly Sarantsev, spokesman for the Kharkiv operational-tactical group. According to him, it is about projectiles for artillery systems of 152 millimeters. The Russian troops started importing these projectiles as early as 2023. Vitaly Sarantsev noted that the North Korean projectiles are of lower quality than the Soviet ones that are in service with the Russian Federation.
The KAB strike hit an open area in the Shevchenkiv district of Kharkiv, said Oleg Sinegubov, head of OVA. Windows were broken in high-rise buildings near the site of the KAB strike in Kharkiv. Donetsk oblast
The largest number of attacks is in the Kurakhiv and Pokrovsky directions. The Armed Forces repelled 120 attacks per day in the east, the General Staff said.
In the Kurakhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled 40 attacks. The occupiers most actively tried to advance in the areas of Katerynivka and Antonivka settlements. In addition, they attacked in the direction of Tsukuryny, Novoselidivka, Hirnyky, Maksimilianivka, Georgiyivka, Kostyantynivka, Kurakhivka, Izmailivka, Gostroy, Kurakhyivka, and Vodiany.
In the Pokrovsky direction, Ukrainian fighters repelled 37 assaults in the direction of the settlements of Sukha Balka, Novotoretske, Promin, Sukhyi Yar, Lysivka, Krutiy Yar, Novogrodivka, and Selidove. The greatest concentration of Russian attacks was near Selidovoy and Lysivka.
Fighting continues on Tsentralnaya Street in Toretsk, said Anastasia Bobovnikova, spokeswoman of Luhansk Technical University.
Russian troops are preparing for the next assault and are actively shelling civilian infrastructure in the Kurakhiv direction in the Donetsk region, Nazar Voytenkov, acting press officer of the 33rd OMBr, said.
562 children in 492 families remain in 12 settlements of Donetsk region, where the forced evacuation of minors together with their parents or representatives has been announced. Luhansk oblast
Last day’s fighting took place in the areas of Makiivka and Grekivka – the enemy’s attacks were repulsed by our defenders. The Russians tried to hit the fortifications of the Ukrainian troops in the Serebrian Forest with unguided air missiles. 69 drones were directed towards Balka Zhuravka. They fired 16 times from artillery weapons.
About seven thousand people who went to serve in the occupying state bodies formed in the so-called “LNR” underwent mandatory retraining this year at the Russian Academy of National Economy and Civil Service, the head of the Luhansk OVA, Artem Lysogor, said. Collaborators from state and municipal organizations, as well as the deputy corps, joined various training programs. Each study took up to 144 academic hours. It is not reported which representatives of the Russian Federation’s bodies taught these courses.
Russia provided car clubs to three more populated areas occupied in 2022, the Luhansk OVA reported. The local budgets of Kreminnaya, Lysychansk and Bilokurakyny received an additional load. Because only empty cars of the “Gas” brand were transferred there. All equipment necessary for the operation of these vehicles according to the profile should be purchased independently. The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that a shelter for a geriatric nursing facility is being built in Rzhyshchiv. The shelter with a total area 527 m2 is designed to accommodate 230 people at a time. The work is being carried out as part of the Programme for the Protection of the Population and Territories from Man-Made and Natural Disasters. According to the design, an entrance door will be replaced, walls, ceiling, floor and stairs will be repaired, and the building will be renovated. All communication networks will also be installed in the shelter: lighting, water supply and sewerage, and heating.
Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, announced an opening of modern rehabilitation unit for soldiers with severe injuries and combat traumas in Bila Tserkva community in Kyiv oblast. The unit has comfortable rooms, a room for apparatus treatment, physical and medical rehabilitation, and a massage room. Modern rehabilitation equipment was also purchased to improve blood supply, restore muscle function, accelerate wound regeneration and relieve inflammation.
The Kyiv Regional Military Association informed that combat paramedics-instructors conducted a training course on first aid at the Plast Centre. The instructors demonstrated the basic algorithms and techniques for providing first aid in critical conditions, including life-threatening bleeding. The participants learnt to recognise the signs of critical bleeding and how to stop it, and also learnt an algorithm of actions in case of emergency. Particular attention was paid to bleeding control devices such as tourniquets, tampons, pressure bandages and other means of saving lives before the arrival of medics.
Zhytomyr oblast
Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular military units in Zhytomyr oblast, received humanitarian aid from international partners from Norway. This replenishment includes three specialised vehicles for medical units that will be used to evacuate the wounded in the Donetsk sector. Thanks to the Uplifting Centre Charitable Foundation, the vehicles have been serviced and additionally equipped for extreme conditions. In addition to the vehicles, the Ukrainian military received 1300 fire extinguishers of various types. This aid was distributed among military units and units of the State Emergency Service in Zhytomyr and Sumy oblasts.
According to the Zhytomyr City Council, Zhytomyr is ready for an effective start of the heating season. Zhytomyrteplocomunenerho has carried out routine repairs to 51 boiler houses and 59 central heating stations. All boiler houses and heating stations in Zhytomyr are ready for the heating season. In apartment buildings, 44 individual heating units equipped with commercial heat metres have been installed. This equipment allows regulating and evenly distributing the heat carrier in the in-building heating system and ensures the hydraulic balance of the entire heating system in a particular area.
Sumy oblast
At night and in the morning, the russians carried out 12 shellings of the border territories and settlements in Sumy oblast. 13 explosions were recorded. Mykolaiv, Bilopollia, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, and Richky communities came under fire.

The World Grappling Championship is underway in the city of Astana. Eleven grapplers from Sumy Oblast are taking part in it. According to the results of three competitive days, the Ukrainian team won the second team place in the “grappling” section among young people. In her weight category, Yuliia Zasulska reached the final, where she won the “silver” award. Ilia Shtanko added a “bronze” medal to this one.
Chernihiv oblast
During the day, the russian army attacked the Snovs community in Chernihiv oblast three times. 18 explosions were recorded:

In Nizhyn, on 9 October, residents paid tribute to soldier Mykola Kyrychka, who died during a combat mission in the north-eastern direction. This was reported in Chernihiv Regional TCC and SP. They spent the last time and buried the soldier in Nizhyn. Mykola is survived by his son Dmytro and relatives.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Late in the evening, on 9 October, the enemy attacked Nikopol with artillery. There were no casualties.

Soldier Yevhen Vorotniak was awarded the ‘Defender of the Fatherland’ medal.
Teacher Mykola Zabolotnyi makes drones in memory of his students who died in the war. In six months, the physics, mathematics and computer science teacher at Luchynets school has made 30 of them. He assembles them in his office and involves his students in this work. Before sending each drone to the front, he tests it and gives it a name.
Kirovohrad oblast
Halyna Klochko, Lawyer of the organisation’s Oleksandriya branch of NGO Tenth of April, reported that in Kirovohrad oblast, IDPs can receive free legal aid from the NGO Tenth of April. Two soldiers from Poltava oblast were killed during russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Serhiy Skapa was killed near the village of Nyzhniy Klyn, Suzhansky region, Kursk oblast, russia. He was 41 years old. And Serhiy Hurevych, who died on 23 March 2022 while performing a combat mission near the village of Stepne, Donetsk oblast. The body of the soldier was identified by DNA analysis. The soldier was 42 years old.
Cherkasy oblast

The executive committee of Mykolaiv City Council approved an increase in payments to wounded civilians and families of those killed as a result of кussian shelling. 10,000 hryvnias increased the one-time payment.
Odesa oblast
Last night, the enemy attacked Odesa oblast using drones. As a result of the attack the glazing and facade of a nine-story building in Odesa region were damaged, and a 400 m² floor of an unfinished building caught fire. The glazing of a medical facility was also damaged. Five people were injured, three of whom were hospitalized in moderate condition. Southern air defense forces shot down 16 strike drones in the region.
As of 6 a.m. on 9 October, two enemy ships were present in the Black Sea, carrying “Kalibr” cruise missiles with a combined salvo of up to 8 missiles. There were three enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, two of which were also carrying “Kalibr” missiles with a combined salvo of up to 20 missiles.
During the day, seven ships passed through the Kerch Strait, and 11 ships proceeded to the Sea of Azov in the interest of the russian federation.
Ukraine confiscated the cargo ship USKO MFU, flying the flag of Cameroon, which was detained along with its captain in Odesa oblast in July of this year. The vessel had illegally entered the ports of occupied Crimea for commercial activities. The court has ordered the ship to be transferred to the ownership of the Ukrainian state.
Kherson oblast
Today, russian forces attacked Kherson using a drone, resulting in the death of an elderly man. The man was riding a bicycle when russian military forces dropped an explosive device.
It is reported that occupying forces attacked a 58-year-old woman in Kindiika with a drone, dropping an explosive device on her while she was on the street. The victim was taken to the hospital with blast trauma and shrapnel injuries to her legs and arms.
Around 1:00 p.m. today, two residents of Kherson were injured in a russian drone attack. A 40-year-old man suffered blast trauma and fractures to his legs, while a 46-year-old man sustained blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to his torso, arms, and legs. Additionally, two residents of Komyshany — a 62-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man — sought medical attention after suffering blast injuries and concussions from yesterday’s shelling.
At noon, russian occupiers attacked a man in the village of Lvove with a drone. The 68-year-old local man suffered blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to his hand, leg, and abdomen.
A resident of Kherson’s Dniprovskyi district was injured by russian shelling. The 51-year-old man suffered blast trauma and a concussion. Later, it was reported that two more people were injured in a russian drone attack in the Dniprovskyi district. A 21-year-old young man, who was at a public transport stop during the enemy’s drone strike, sustained blast trauma, a concussion, and a brain injury. A 41-year-old man suffered blast trauma and a shrapnel wound to the chest.
Around 2:00 a.m., russian forces attacked a medical-social institution in Stepanivka. Two nurses were injured in the attack.
Yesterday, Antonivka, Stanislav, Tomyna Balka, Tiahynka, Odradokamianka, Dariivka, Beryslav, Vesele, Zelenivka, Chornobaivka, Novodmytrivka, Dniprovske, Nezlamne, Novovorontsovka, Komyshany, Kachkarivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Lvove, Stepanivka, Olhivka, Sadoveand the city of Kherson were under enemy fire and airstrikes. russian shelling damaged 59 structures, including 29 private houses, 17 monuments in a cemetery, two cars, agricultural equipment, a bus, four farm buildings, a garage, a café, and a hangar. One person was killed, and 16 others were injured due to russian aggression.
Yesterday, the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the south eliminated 106 russian soldiers and destroyed 23 units of russian military equipment. Ukrainian defenders also targeted nine enemy bunkers, an ammunition storage site, two drone takeoff locations, two observation buildups, and a firing position.

Volyn oblast
The 1st Self-Propelled Artillery Division of the Military unit A 4977 received 2 Starlink satellite communication systems, an EcoFlow Delta Max charging station and a DJI Mavic 3 Pro quadcopter from Lutsk community.
Zakarpattia oblast
The 1st meeting of the Barrier-Free Council of Zakarpattia oblast was held. The key task is to ensure physical, informational, digital, social, civil, economic and educational accessibility for everyone. For this purpose, appropriate barrier-free councils should be created in each community of the ooblast and responsible persons should be appointed. Currently, in the oblast, such consultative and advisory bodies are already operating in 15 communities, and the process of their creation is ongoing in 13 more.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The oblast sent 3 large monitors, 3 laptops and 5 tablets worth almost UAH 400,000 to the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigades thanks to the funds of the regional budget within the framework of the regional target program of support for military formations of the oblast.
Lviv oblast
16 defenders of Lviv oblast were awarded with state awards (posthumously). Volodymyr Hrinchenko, Ihor Haber, Oleh Kunynets, Taras Kushnir, Volodymyr Zvir, Dmytro Haiduchko, Bohdan Podibko, Ihor Ryhel, Vitalii Voynarovich, Mykhailo Dzidzinsky, Roman Kuzin, Bohdan Hul and Yurii Chopyk were awarded with the III degree For Courage Order. Colonel Yurii Potrohosh was awarded with the Combatant Cross and the Honor and Memory badge. Bohdan Ivanchyshyn was awarded with the award of the President of Ukraine For the Defense of Ukraine. He presented awards to relatives of fallen soldiers.
Sailor Mykola Vyslotskyi from Lviv region received the III degree For Courage Order. The soldier served in the 38th Separate Brigade of Marines, defending Ukraine from the enemy in Kherson oblast. He was released to the reserve in August 2024.
In memory of 3 defenders who were killed defending Ukraine, memorial plaques were installed in Drohobych region. Mykola Slutskyi served in the 202nd Separate Battalion of the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. He was killed on 24 November, 2022, in the village of Kurylivka, Kupiansk region, Kharkiv oblast. Roman Shcherba served as part of the Mukachevo Border detachment. He was killed on 12 June near Vovchansk, Kharkiv oblast. Roman Oliynyk was called up for military service in May 2023. He was killed on 31 May in Horliv region, Donetsk oblast.
Rivne oblast
Rivne oblast received 7 modern lighting towers with a 12 kW generator worth almost UAH 4m from the USAID HOVERLA project.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil community sent 2 powerful sets of tracking equipment and electronic warfare (EW) to the National Guard thanks to the budget funds. The equipment was manufactured in Ternopil.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
The RMA reported that military exercises took place within Khmelnytskyi community.
Khmelnytskyi city council reported that the community has already sent over 500 different UAVs, over 5800 FPVs and 150 EW and PEP to the military.
Chernivtsi oblast
A meeting of the Coordination Center for the support of the civilian population at Chernivtsi Oblast was held. Specialists discussed the issue of providing professional adaptation services at the expense of the state budget. They can be received by persons who are discharged or discharged from military service, from among war veterans, members of their families; persons who have special merits for the Motherland, family members of such persons; family members of deceased (deceased) war veterans, family members of deceased (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine.

Germany sent an Iris-T SLM and a Iris-T SLS air defence system to Ukraine. These are air defence systems, which are necessary for Ukraine to protect critical infrastructure objects and citizens from the attacks of the russian occupiers.
Ukraine and Croatia signed the Agreement on Long-Term Support and Cooperation. Croatia will continue to provide equipment and share knowledge on humanitarian demining.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Andrii Plenkovich, Prime Minister of Croatia. They discussed defence assistance and cooperation, humanitarian demining, rehabilitation of Ukrainian children and wounded soldiers, reconstruction of the country and European integration.
