It has been the 958th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4pm:   

The situation on the frontline is characterised by the enemy’s particular activity in Pokrovsk and Kurakhove axes. The enemy is using all available forces and means to achieve its goals. The defence forces are acting professionally and effectively, inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

In total, 99 combat engagements took place since the beginning of the day.

During the day, a number of settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts suffered from enemy terrorist attacks. Thus, Yastrubyne, Pavlivka, Turia, Khotyn and Kindrativka came under air strikes. The enemy also carried out one air strike in Kursk oblast, using one anti-aircraft vehicle. 

In Kharkiv axis, the russian occupiers stormed the defensive lines of the Ukrainian army three times in the areas of Vovchansk and Starytsia. The enemy also dropped a bomb in the area of Mali Prokhody.

In Kupiansk axis, the enemy actively attacked the positions of our forces 8 times in the areas of Senkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Lozova and Kruhliakivka, 6 of these engagements are ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line. 

In Lyman axis, the invading army launched 10 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makiivka, Hrekivka, Novosadove and Dibrova. 7 engagements ended without success for the enemy and 3 more are ongoing. In addition, the enemy launched an attack by unguided aerial missiles in the area of Serebriansk forestry.

In Siversk axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack by the occupying army near Ivano-Darivka village.

In Kramatorsk axis, the invaders made 3 assaults on the positions of our troops near Kalynivka, Chasovyi Yar and Stupochky. 2 of the enemy attacks were repelled and one is ongoing.

In Toretsk axis, the enemy, with the support of aviation, concentrated its efforts in the areas of Toretsk and Nelipivka, where 8 firefights took place, 7 of these attacks are still ongoing. The situation is under control.

In Pokrovsk axis, since the beginning of the day, the occupants have made 19 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Sukha Balka, Novotoretske, Promin, Sukhyi Yar, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Novohrodivka and Selydove. The defence forces are holding back the attack and have so far repelled 12 enemy attacks, 7 attacks are still ongoing. The enemy’s losses are being clarified.

Fighting continues near Tsukuryne, Novoselydivka, Hirnyk, Maksymilianivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka, Antonivka and Vodiane in Kyrakhove axis. According to updated information, 14 out of 24 occupation attacks in the area have been repelled so far. Fierce fighting continues.

In Vremivka axis, the enemy made 4 attempts to storm the positions of our units near Bohoiavlenka. One firefight is ongoing.

In Orikhiv axis, the occupants attacked our units twice, near Robotyne and in the direction of Novodanylivka. The terrorist army also fired at Lobkove by unguided aerial missiles.

In Prydniprovsk axis, the invaders keep trying to drive our troops from their positions. Thus, they have carried out 3 attacks today and 2 combat engagements are currently ongoing. 

Andrii Besedin, Head of Kupiansk CMA, reported that more than 6,000 people remain in Kupiansk, including one child. Since 15 September, when the community announced the forced evacuation of children, only one child out of 158 has remained. We are currently working with the parents to evacuate this child.  Of those who remain in the community, about 70-75% are elderly people who are not persuaded to leave. 

Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, announced that since the beginning of the year, russia has exported 180,000 tonnes of Ukrainian grain through the port of Mariupol. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Kharkiv direction — Russian occupiers attacked defensive positions three times in the areas of Vovchansk and Starytsia. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00, Russia dropped an aerial bomb near Mali Prokhody.

Kupiansk direction — since the beginning of the day, Russians have assaulted Defense Forces positions eight times in the areas of Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Lozova, and Kruglyakivka.

Today, the enemy launched 6 KAB bombs on the Kharkiv region. Hits were recorded in the Saltivskyi district of Kharkiv. Two people died: a 70-year-old woman and a man. Seven people were injured. The information is being updated. The ammunition was a FAB-500. Among the injured is a 10-year-old boy. He did not require hospitalization and is in a stable condition.

The enemy also struck Cherkaska Lozova. No casualties were reported.

The Russians shelled Kruglyakivka in the Kupiansk district: a 52-year-old woman died, and a 76-year-old woman was wounded. This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Residential houses in the village were damaged.

As a result of two strikes on the Industrial district of Kharkiv, 28 people were injured, according to the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov. Seventeen people were hospitalized, including a 16-year-old boy, the youngest victim. Three people are in serious condition, 16 in moderate condition, and the rest in stable condition. The aftermath of the strikes is still being addressed. The information is being updated. The enterprise hit by the Russian army in Kharkiv in the morning is involved in metalworking.

Over the past day, the enemy used 7 guided aerial bombs and 2 UAVs against unarmed residents of the Kharkiv region. 

At 17:37, the Russians struck the Bohodukhiv district, Zolochivska hromada, the village of Myronivka. As a result of the shelling, grass caught fire over an area of 2 hectares.

At 17:00 in the village of Zolochiv, 16 private houses and two two-story apartment buildings were partially damaged as a result of the attack. The second strike occurred in a field near the village of Myronivka.

At 16:21 in the Kupiansk district, Russians struck a sports ground on the premises of an educational institution with a KAB bomb. A 35-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman were injured.

At 14:30 in the village of Perovske, a private house and power lines were damaged as a result of mortar shelling.

In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy continued active operations, with six combat clashes occurring overall. Fighting took place in the areas of Starytsia and Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked our units’ positions 25 times. The main efforts were concentrated in the areas of Synkivka, Novoselivka, Hlushkivka, Lozova, and Kruglyakivka.

From Bohuslavka and Iziumske of the Borova hromada, from which mandatory evacuation was announced on October 7, 25 out of 90 people left, said the head of the local Military-Civil Administration, Oleksandr Tertyshnyi. He noted that there is no electricity throughout Iziumske, and electricity is partially out in Bohuslavka.

From September 9 to October 7, 217 children with their families were evacuated from specific settlements in the Kupiansk district. Another 52 children with their families are being evacuated from three other communities in the district.

Preparations for winter are ongoing. As of now, all designated social infrastructure facilities, including schools and hospitals, are ready for the heating season. Residential buildings in the Kharkiv region are 98% prepared.

The coverage of offline and mixed-format education is expanding. Shelter construction continues. By the end of the school year, about 18,000 students are expected to receive offline education.

A mural was unveiled in Northern Saltivka in honor of Anton Khrustaliov, who died in a Grad rocket attack while delivering food and medicine to local residents in March 2022. The mural was placed on the building where the volunteer also delivered bread, near the site where he was killed.

Donetsk oblast

At least one person was killed and six were injured as a result of a strike on Kostiantynivka, according to the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin. Seventeen apartment buildings, three educational institutions, as well as three gas pipelines and seven vehicles were damaged.

The day before, one person was killed and 12 were injured in Russian shelling in Donetsk region, including two children, as reported by the Donetsk police. Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 2,809 attacks on the front line and residential areas. Shells exploded in 15 settlements, damaging 34 civilian objects, including 15 residential buildings.

In Sloviansk, the Russians dropped two “UMPB D-30SN” aerial bombs, killing a 44-year-old man and injuring seven civilians, including two girls born in 2011 and 2022. Six apartment buildings, two administrative buildings, a car wash, and three civilian vehicles were damaged.

In Kostiantynivka, the occupiers hit with a “FAB-250” bomb equipped with a UMPC module, injuring four civilians. Two private houses, a business, and three trucks were damaged.

In Sontsivka, a civilian was injured in a drone strike.

Russia attacked Kramatorsk with two “FAB-250” bombs with UMPC modules, causing damage to an industrial facility.

In Nikanorivka, FAB strikes damaged a farming enterprise, and in Velyka Novosilka, a private house was damaged.

In Myrnohrad, the enemy damaged an educational institution, in Siversk — an administrative building, in Kurakhove — two private houses, in Kurakhivka — three homes, and one house in Bohoyavlenka.

From Kostiantynivka, the “White Angel” crew evacuated two families with children. Three boys — Mark, Mykyta, and Ivan — left the area under shelling with their mothers.

The Donetsk Regional Museum of Local Lore received a model of the Mariupol Drama Theater, destroyed by a strike from Russian forces, according to the Donetsk Regional State Administration.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, hundreds of women in Donetsk region have begun working in mines in positions related to underground work, reported Tetiana Taranenko, Director of the Department for the Development of Basic Industries. Previously considered “men’s work” and legally prohibited, over 500 women have started working in mines during the war, compensating for the shortage of men in the industry.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy is intensively shelling settlements along the line of combat engagement and Ukrainian military fortifications. According to the Regional Military Administration, yesterday the occupiers struck Tverdokhlibove and the area of the Serebryansk Forest with unguided aerial rockets. Artillery fire hit Balka Zhuravka, and 88 drones were directed toward the village. Russian forces also attacked near Makiivka, Hrekivka, Balka Zhuravka, and the Serebryansk Forest.

Residents of Perevalsk, in the Alchevsk community, are complaining about the near-total absence of medical services in the city. Services are provided only to Russian military personnel. The hospital, filled with wounded soldiers, is constantly occupied, leaving local civilians without care. The only way to receive medical assistance is to travel to nearby cities and negotiate for help.

The occupiers have chosen terror as a method of control in Lysychansk. They are trying to enforce submission through intimidation, including drone strikes targeting civilians moving through the streets. This tactic was initially recognized by locals, and now even Russian propagandists barely react to these staged military actions.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the KRMA, met with representatives of the French Embassy in Ukraine and 20 well-known French companies to discuss cooperation with French business. In particular, Medef International, Alstom, Amarante International, Brifrance, Constructions 3D, DMS Imaging and others. The parties discussed increasing investment in the region’s economy. The needs of the oblast and projects that can already be implemented in the region were also addressed. The list of topics for discussion included the supply of building materials for the construction of storage facilities, protection of energy infrastructure, special equipment for heat and power plants, installation of energy-efficient street lighting, etc. 

The Mobile Rescue Centre of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that in Kyiv oblast, a farmer came across the remains of an S-300 missile while working in a field in Boryspil district. On the spot, sappers confirmed finding the safe remnants of an S-300 missile, which was part of an anti-aircraft missile system. The bomb squad promptly removed the wreckage and ensured conditions for further safe work on the field.

The Kyiv City State Administration announced that a Kyiv house, which has installed solar generation equipment, will now be able to supply excess electricity to the country’s national grid. The multi-storey apartment building on Metropolitan Sheptytsky Street participated in Kyiv municipal programmes: 70/30% energy efficiency projects and partial reimbursement of independent energy sources. Now, during possible power outages, the 16-storey building will have water pumps, an elevator, lighting in the corridors, and the Internet.

Kyiv RMA informed that an athlete from Kyiv oblast won a silver medal at the World Grappling Championships in Kazakhstan. Yehor Tarasenko became the vice-champion of the world in the U-17 UWW category. Being a student of the Kyiv Regional Children’s and Youth Sports School, he was prepared for the competition by coach Maxym Morozenko.

Zhytomyr oblast

The Zhytomyr RMA announced that representatives of Zhytomyr oblast presented a successful model of Coordination Councils at the All-Ukrainian Forum “Ukrainian Identity”. The first All-Ukrainian Forum “Ukrainian Identity”, organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, took place in Dnipro. The main goal of the event is to improve the effectiveness of the implementation of state policy in the field of strengthening Ukrainian national and community identity by local governments. Zhytomyr oblast was represented at the event by Yuriy Ohansky, First Deputy Head of Zviahel District Administration, who presented a successful case of the establishment and operation of Coordination Councils for the promotion of Ukrainian national and community identity in Zviahel district. The model of coordination work implemented in the rayon demonstrates a systematic approach to building national consciousness and engaging citizens in patriotic initiatives.

Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that Rostyslav Perekhozhuk, a native of Zviahel, was included in the TOP-50 of the prestigious Global Teacher Prize Ukraine in the preschool category.

The Children’s Service of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported that since the beginning of 2024, 49 children have been adopted by Ukrainian citizens in Zhytomyr oblast. In 2022, 39 children were adopted, and in 2023 – 62 children. There are 56 candidates for adoption in oblast, of which 43 are married couples and 13 are single citizens.

Sumy oblast

 On the morning of 8 October, around 4:20a.m., russian forces dropped guided bombs on the civilian infrastructure of Yastrubshchyna in Esman community, Sumy Oblast. According to Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the attack resulted in the tragic deaths of a married couple — a 38-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman — in their home. Six houses, two outbuildings, a car, an administrative building, and agricultural equipment, including seven tractors, a loader, and a truck, were also damaged.

During night and morning, russians carried out 32 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 34 explosions. The attacks targeted Sumy, Mykolaivka, Bilopillia, Myropillia, Hlukhiv, Esman, Svesa communities.

During the day, on 7 October, russians carried out 39 shelling attacks on border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast, resulting in 143 explosions. The attacks targeted Myropilia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Shalyhyne, Esman, Druzhbivka, Svesa, Seredyna-Buda, znob-Novhorod communities.

Krasnopillia community: the enemy hit by mortars (13 explosions), artillery (4 explosions), FPV-drones (4 explosions) and dropped VOG from UAVs (2 explosions).

Shalyhyne community: FPV-drone strikes (4 explosions).

Esman community: an FPV-drone strikes (2 explosions).

Svesa community: an FPV-drone strike (1 explosion).

Bilopillia community: hit by FPV-drones (8 explosions), GAB attack (10 explosions), shelling by MLRS (65 explosions), mortar shelling (10 explosions).

Myropillia community: an FPV-drone strike (1 explosion).

Druzhbivka community: russians dropped 15 mines on the territory of the community.

Sredyna-Buda community: an FPV-drone strike (1 explosion).

Znob-Novhorod community: FPV-drone strikes (3 explosions).

Chernihiv oblast

Halyna Shekhovtsova, the spokesperson for Chernihiv Border Guard, reported that on 7 October, russian forces attacked Halahanivka in Semenivka community, located near the border of Chernihiv Oblast. Border guards recorded two explosions, likely caused by drone-dropped explosive devices on the outskirts of the village.

Viacheslav Chaus, the Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, stated that Chernihiv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Medicine has received an ambulance donated through the efforts of the Olena Zelenska Foundation. The Type C ambulance is equipped with advanced medical equipment. This vehicle is essential for saving lives and transporting patients. It will serve Chernihiv and its surrounding communities, and, if necessary, will transport patients across Ukraine.

Chernihiv Regional Military Commissariat and Recruitment Center confirmed that in Chernihiv and Nizhyn, residents paid tribute to soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhii Pechenyi and Dmytro Avramenko, who died on the front lines. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In the evening, the occupiers shelled Nikopol region several times by artillery, targeting the Myrove, Pokrovske and Marhanets communities. There were no casualties reported.

At night, an enemy drone was shot down over the oblast. No casualties or damage were reported.

About a dozen attacks were carried out on Nikopol region during the day by artillery, kamikaze drones and dropping munitions from drones. They targeted the regional centre, Myrove, Pokrovske, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities. Infrastructure was damaged, including the roof of a car garage, but there were no injuries reported.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​According to Mayor Serhii Morgunov, Vinnytsia has provided the 120th Separate Territorial Defence Brigade with electronic warfare equipment and 200 FPV drones.

Kirovohrad oblast

2 soldiers from Kirovohrad oblast were killed in the russia-Ukraine war. Vadym Khanenko from Rivne community was killed on 29 September, due sustained injuries, near Bohoiavlenka in Donetsk oblast. Ruslan Khudiakov from Oleksandriia was killed on 21 September, during a combat mission.

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that Kirovohrad oblast continues to support its defenders by providing special night-vision equipment.

A soldier from one of the battalions of the 121st Separate Territorial Defence Brigade of Kirovohrad oblast received the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III Class. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi presented the state award to Serhii for demonstrating exceptional courage and heroism during combat missions.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava, a memorial plaque was unveiled in honour of soldier Andrii Budantsev, who was killed in Donetsk oblast in 2022.

A farewell ceremony was held in Poltava for Dmytro Petrenko, who was killed in Donetsk oblast. He was the platoon commander of a communications unit and was 38 years old.

In Semenivka community, a farewell was held for Andrii Trotskyi, a serviceman from Poltava over. He was killed on 30 June, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near Novoselivske village in Luhansk oblast.

According to Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, the American charity foundation GEM, in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, delivered the 1st batch of windows for houses damaged by the missile strike on the Communication Institute on 3 September. A total of 151 window units are set to be replaced. Volunteers from Poltava Polytechnic helped unload the window units.

Cherkasy oblast

A living corridor was formed by the community in Uman to bid farewell to defender Vladyslav Kotsiuba. The soldier passed away in a hospital on 25 September.

In Smila, a farewell was held for soldier Nazar Lavrenko, who was killed on 2 October during an artillery attack in Kharkiv oblast. The defender was only 20 years old.

According to Ivan Podolian, Director of the public organisation Cherkasy City Institute, in Cherkasy, civilians and military personnel are being trained to operate drones as part of efforts to build a reserve force. The FPV drone piloting training is free and conducted in small groups.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

As reported by the Southern Defence Forces, Ukrainian forces in the south destroyed 25 units of russian weaponry and military equipment and eliminated 66 russian occupiers in a day.

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, informed that on 8 October, a 71-year-old man was killed and a 67-year-old woman injured as a result of a russian attack in Prymorske village. The elderly couple was driving through the village when an FPV drone struck their car.

According to the evening report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Defence Forces repelled 2 russian attacks near Robotyne and Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast, along Orikhiv axis. Also, russian forces fired unguided aerial missiles at Lobkove village.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, said that on 7 October, russian forces carried out 392 strikes on 13 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, reported that on the night of 8 October, air defence forces shot down 3 Shahed 131/136 drones over Mykolaiv oblast. He added that there were no other shelling in the oblast.

Odesa oblast

Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa RMA, informed that russian forces attacked Odesa oblast by drones. This caused fires in apartments on the 4th to 6th floors in Chornomorsk and damaged an administrative and production building.

According to the Ukrainian Navy, in the Black Sea, there are currently 16 russian ships, 7 of which are missile carriers. Their total capacity is up to 48 Kalibr missiles.

Kherson oblast

According to the RMA, in the evening of 8 October, 2 residents of Kherson oblast were injured due to a russian drone attack. A 72-year-old man in Vesele village suffered a mine-blast injury and concussion, while in Lvove village, a 51-year-old man was hospitalised with an explosive injury and facial wounds.

The russian forces shelled Zelenivka village, injuring a 42-year-old man who was outside.

Around 11:20am, russian forces dropped explosives from a drone in Beryslav. A 63-year-old man was hospitalised with an explosive injury and shrapnel wound to his leg.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, said that in the morning and throughout the day, russian forces shelled Antonivka 3 times. As a result of the artillery attacks, 1 person was killed and 6 injured. 5 of the injured were hospitalised and 1 person received assistance on the spot.

Volyn oblast

The 1st Mechanised Battalion of the Military Unit A 0693 received a DJI Mavic 3T quadcopter and 2 DJI Mavic 3 Pro quadcopters from Lutsk community.

Zakarpattia oblast

A charity fair was held at the Shevchenko Lyceum of Uzhhorod. The raised UAH 126,000 will be donated to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, awarded the 102nd Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces with the honorary award For Courage and Courage.

Ivano-Frankivsk community sent laptops, Mavics, 50 FPV drones, For Honor and Victory medals and name watches to the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade. In addition, the 109th Battalion of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade received 50 FPV-drones.

Lviv oblast

2 more participants joined the Take a House Under Guardianship campaign, the Ukrainian Development Fund CF and the Young Business Club. The relevant cooperation agreement was signed in Lviv City Council. These organisations will allocate a total of UAH 1m for the replacement of wooden windows in the architectural monument building on the street Kokorudza, which was injured during a terrorist attack in russia on 4 September this year.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, honoured the defenders of the 103rd Brigade with state awards. Lt. Col. Anatolii Savych was awarded with the III degree Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. Lieutenant Vasyl Misyuk was awarded with the II degree For Courage Order. Sergeant Valentin Zinchenko and senior soldier Stepan Mykhailiuk were awarded with the III degree For Courage Order.

Vasyl Leliv, serviceman of the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, from Strii region, was awarded with the Defender of Ukraine honorary award by the Minister of Defense. He was killed on 17 January 2023 near the village of Zarichne, Donetsk oblast. Previously, the soldier was also awarded with the III degree For Courage Order.

By decree of the President of Ukraine, Yurii Zhukovets, Rank of Captain of the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, was awarded with the title of Hero of Ukraine and was awarded the Golden Star order. Yurii is currently being treated at Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospital.

Over 700 of defenders, as well as their relatives, have already joined the Travel Therapy project. In the oblast, it is implemented by the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Lviv oblast. This year, the project managed to organise 20 different events: from climbing the peaks of the Carpathians to travelling along the historical path of Ivan Franko. All leisure activities for soldiers and their families are free.

Rivne oblast

The defence developments of Rivne oblast (IRVs, UAVs and drone detection systems) were presented at the investment summit. The organiser of the summit is the Brave1 cluster, which provides state grants and conducts events to introduce developers to investors. Financing mechanisms for domestic defence manufacturers also operate in Rivne oblast. This year, within the framework of the regional program, UAH 1.6m has already been allocated to five local enterprises that manufacture goods for the Defense Forces.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil community allocated UAH 10,000 each to 41 defenders for the purchase of the necessary equipment or equipment. Also, another 17 soldiers will receive the same funds for treatment and rehabilitation.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that military exercises were held within Khmelnytskyi community.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi City Council held a meeting with Alexandru Victor Mikula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine, and Iryna-Loredana Stanculescu, Consul General of Romania in Chernivtsi. They discussed key issues of cooperation in the tourist, cultural, educational and economic spheres.

The RMA presented awards to families of fallen soldiers. By decree of the President of Ukraine, the III degree For Courage Order (posthumously) awarded senior sergeant Kyrylo Tilieev, soldier Andrii Dedovskyi, soldier Adrian Puliska, soldier Hryhoriy Krichun, junior sergeant Yevhen Voloshchuk, soldier Vladyslav Volkovskyi.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The ADS Britisha trade mission consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Department of Business and Trade and the Defense Association visited Ukraine to hold meetings with the Ukrainian government and industry representatives. The United Kingdom allocated almost $4.5bn to Ukraine for British-made defence equipment.

Ammunition arrived in Ukraine, for which over €4m was collected in Slovakia. Fedir Blaschak, representative of the Ammunition for Ukraine campaign, said that 122 tonnes of ammunition were purchased with the collected funds. They were taken on 6 trucks to a logistics warehouse, from where they were sent to Ukraine. It will be recalled that the ammunition collection began in 2008 after the Slovak government announced that it would not join the Czech government’s initiative to collect ammunition.

Sebastien Lecornu, French Defense Minister, announced that the country will deliver Mirage 2000 fighters to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2025. Aircraft are equipped with systems for combat and protection against EW. Training of Ukrainian pilots and mechanics continues.

South Korea sent 80 portable X-ray machines to Ukraine. They were provided as part of a donation from the country’s government for over $2m, which noted that this medical equipment allows X-ray diagnostics to be carried out without being tied to a specific location.

Jonas Har Store, Norwegian Prime Minister, stated that Norway plans to extend Ukraine’s support program until 2030 and increase funding to $12.7bn.
