War in Ukraine today: latest news, 10 February 2026 (photo)

It has been the 1448  th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

The defence forces are focusing their efforts on disrupting the russian invaders’ plans for an offensive and depleting their combat potential.

Since the beginning of the day, there have been 108 combat clashes.

The enemy carried out 67 air strikes, dropping 192 guided bombs. In addition, it used 3,230 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,344 shellings of populated areas and positions of our troops.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the enemy carried out 5 air strikes today, dropped 14 aerial bombs, and carried out 75 shellings of our troops’ positions and populated areas, including four with multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy stormed the positions of our units in the areas of the settlements of Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Prylipka. Ukrainian units repelled three attacks.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive operations towards Kupiansk.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian soldiers repelled five attacks in the direction of the settlements of Stavky, Drobysheve, Zarichne, and Dibrova.

Towards Sloviansk, our defenders repelled five attempts by the occupiers to advance in the areas of Zakitne, Riznykivka, and in the direction of Ozerne. Two combat engagements are ongoing.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive operations towards Kramatorsk.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, the occupiers stormed the positions of our defenders nine times today near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, Yablunivka, and in the direction of Novopavlivka.

Towards Pokrovsk, the enemy carried out 30 attacks. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Kotlyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetsk, Novomykolaivka, Filiya, and towards the settlements of Novyi Donbas and Hryshyne. In some locations, fighting is still ongoing.

According to preliminary estimates, today our soldiers eliminated 33 occupiers and wounded 32 in this direction; destroyed 63 unmanned aerial vehicles, three quad bikes, six motor vehicles, three units of special equipment, three personnel shelters, and also hit a tank, two artillery systems, 11 motor vehicles and two units of special equipment, one cannon, one UAV control point and 16 enemy personnel shelters.

Towards Oleksandrivka, Ukrainian units stopped two attacks by the occupiers, towards Ivanivka and Zelenyi Hai. Bratske was hit by an air strike.

Towards Huliaipole, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 attacks by the occupiers in the areas of Dobropillia, Huliaipole, Rybne, Luhivske, and in the direction of Zaliznychne. In addition, enemy aircraft struck the settlements of Hirke, Tersianka, Dolynka, Huliaipilske, and Verkhnia Tersa. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.

Towards Orikhiv and Kherson, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations, but carried out air strikes on the settlements of Veselianka, Komyshuvakha, Zaporozhets, and Kozatske.

Despite the IOC ban: Heraskevych wore a “memorial helmet” at the 2026 Olympics. Vladyslav Heraskevych decided to defy the decision of the International Olympic Committee, which banned him from wearing a helmet with images of slain Ukrainian athletes. The 27-year-old skeleton racer wore it during his regular training session, where he clocked the second-best time (56.40). Vladyslav was second only to Britain’s Matt Weston (56.11).

The government has allowed transformer equipment manufacturers to retain 100% of their employees. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said that this decision allows manufacturers and companies that repair transformer equipment for the energy sector to retain all employees who are subject to military service. In addition, the number of criteria for recognising a company as critically important has been reduced from three to two.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Yesterday, 9 February, 168 combat clashes were recorded.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attempted five times to break through the defensive lines of our defenders in the areas of the settlements of Prylipka, Zelenе, and Vovchansk.

Towards Kupiansk, three combat clashes took place yesterday in Pishchane and Dovhenke. Six people were injured as a result of the shelling, including three children.

In Zolochiv, a 44-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, two 3-year-old boys and a 6-year-old boy were injured; in Dubivka, Derhachi community, a 68-year-old woman was injured.

The enemy attacked Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv with UAVs.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons in Kharkiv oblast:

▪️4 KAB;

▪️1 Geran-2 UAV;

▪️2 Lancet UAVs;

▪️6 Molniya UAVs;

▪️4 FPV drones;

▪️12 UAVs (type to be determined).

Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

▪️in Kharkiv, three apartment buildings, two cars, and a service station were damaged;

▪️in Bohodukhiv region, two private houses, three cars (Zolochiv), and a truck (Bohodukhiv) were damaged;

▪️in Kupiansk region, a private house was damaged (Novomykolaivka village);

▪️in Kharkiv region, a private house was damaged (Dubivka village), power lines (Bobrivka village);

▪️in Chuhuiv region, a private house was damaged (Khotimlia village).

The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 97 people in 24 hours. A total of 18,497 people have been registered at the point since it began operating.

Donetsk oblast

Russian troops struck Sloviansk, preliminarily with guided bombs. The police are documenting the consequences of the attack, and paramedics are working at the scene. One of the private houses was completely destroyed. The bodies of a woman and her 11-year-old daughter were recovered from the rubble. Among the wounded is a seven-year-old girl. Private houses, a service station, a boiler room, and non-residential premises were damaged.

On 9 February, the police recorded 1,153 attacks along the front line and in the residential sector of the oblast.

Five settlements were under attack: Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Bilenke and Dolyna.

Twenty-one civilian objects were destroyed, including nine residential buildings.

In Druzhkivka, a civilian woman was wounded by a KAB-250 bomb. Three private homes were damaged.

The russians launched four drone strikes on Kramatorsk, damaging six private houses, a petrol station, a car dealership, and five civilian vehicles. In Bilenke, an enemy FPV drone damaged a civilian vehicle.

Luhansk oblast

The occupiers made 37 attempts to advance towards Lyman and Sloviansk. They sought weak spots in the Ukrainian soldiers’ defences in the areas of eleven settlements. On our section of the front, the russians fired mortar systems on six occasions. They actively used unmanned aerial vehicles.

In educational institutions of the so-called “lpr”, children are taught about the threats of terrorism. Russian security forces regularly conduct training there, simulating the taking of students hostage. In addition, the invaders have begun to equip classrooms with “alarm buttons” that can be used in the event of a terrorist threat. Parents and children are being prepared for the possibility that school may be dangerous, reminding them of the tragedies that occur quite regularly in russian schools and which the russian special services are somehow unable to prevent.

In schools located in Lutuhyne community, shooting tournaments have been organised for high school students.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to Mayor Vitalii Klychko, as of 10 February, nearly 1,400 residential buildings in Kyiv remain without heat. Of these, more than 1,100 are high-rise buildings in Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts, which cannot be heated due to critical damage to the Darnytska Thermal Power Plant. More than 200 other buildings are located in various districts where emergency damage has occurred.

Klychko also announced that UAH 40,000 will be provided to residents of Kyiv buildings whose engineering networks have been damaged as a result of enemy attacks. One of the owners of the damaged residential premises will be eligible for a one-time payment. Support is provided under the city programme “Care. Towards Kyiv Residents” for cases that occurred since 1 January 2026.

According to Mykola Kalashnyk, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, in recent weeks Kyiv oblast has received 509 generators with a total capacity of over 5.3 MW, and they have already been installed at critical infrastructure facilities. This assistance was provided by our international partners – Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the UNHCR, the Red Cross Society in Ukraine and Kyiv oblast, humanitarian organisations and charitable foundations.

According to the RMA, Kyiv Regional Centre for Training the Population for National Resistance will hold a training session in the Boryspil district on 14 February. The programme includes tactical medicine, tactical training, including the basics of CQB, and practical familiarisation with AK and AR systems.

Pope Leo XIV sent three trucks with generators to Ukraine. They have already arrived in Fastiv and Kyiv. The pontiff also donated thousands of packages of medicine, and a truck with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, hypertension medication, and food is being prepared for shipment.

Zhytomyr oblast

Serhii Chepiuk, director of the medical facility, reported that a project to provide free dental care to military personnel continues to operate in Zhytomyr. In 2025, the Zhytomyr City Council’s Dental Clinic №1 provided prosthetic services to approximately 512 military personnel and more than 1,500 dental treatment and extraction services.

In January 2026, 64-year-old psychologist, manual therapy specialist and yoga trainer Svitlana Sarasvati from Zhytomyr passed a military medical examination in order to sign a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The woman said that she wants to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and has enough energy, experience and physical strength to do so.

Sumy oblast

The 8th Air Assault Corps reported that a group of 22 russian infantry soldiers fell into an ambush by units of the 71st Separate Air Assault Brigade. russian troops again attempted to advance in Sumy oblast through a gas pipeline near the settlement of Yablunivka. The enemy assault group was destroyed using various types of weapons, including artillery, FPV drones, and bomber drones.

The Regional Prosecutor’s Office informed that at around 3:20pm on 10 February, russian forces attacked a vehicle by a UAV in Krasnopillia community of Sumy region. A 61-year-old driver was killed.

On 10 February, russian troops attacked a refuse collection truck by an FPV drone in Verkhnie Pishchane of Sumy community. Two workers were inside the vehicle, travelling to collect waste according to the regular schedule. They managed to exit the vehicle before the strike.

According to local starosta Yurii Lysenko, at around 11am on 10 February, a russian Molniia-type UAV hit a children’s playground in Stetskivka. He said the UAV was carrying explosive devices, which are now scattered at the site of the attack.

On the morning of 10 February, russian forces attacked civilian households in Sumy community. An enemy drone struck a private house in Velykochernetchchyna starosta district. A 12-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother were injured. The girl is undergoing surgery in hospital.

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on 9 February, residents of the Vorozhbianska community — men aged 38 and 58 — were injured as a result of an enemy UAV attack in Bilopillia community.

Over the course of the day, from the morning of 9 February to the morning of 10 February, russian forces carried out more than 50 attacks on 20 settlements across 14 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs, guided aerial bombs, and unguided aerial rockets. Over the day, air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 22 hours and 15 minutes.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged or destroyed:

  • In Shostka community, a private household and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
  • In Seredyna-Buda community, a private residential house was destroyed, while an administrative building and another private house were damaged;
  • In Shalyhyne community, a private residential house was damaged;
  • In Krolevets community, a private residential house was damaged;
  • In Konotop community, a civilian infrastructure facility and private residential houses were damaged;
  • In Sumy community, apartment buildings, private houses, and private passenger vehicles were damaged;
  • In Bilopillia community, vehicles were damaged;
  • In Komyshany community, non-residential premises and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
  • In Velyka Pysarivka community, a private residential house was damaged.

Over the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organisations, evacuated 13 people from border communities.

The White Angels evacuation team showed how they transported an injured man to a medical facility following a russian drone attack. On 3 February, an enemy UAV struck near a 45-year-old man who was walking along a street in a settlement of Velyka Pysarivka community. As a result of the explosion, the resident sustained shrapnel wounds to his limbs and required urgent medical assistance. Law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene, provided first aid, and evacuated the injured man to a hospital.

Chernihiv oblast

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that during the daytime on 10 February, russian forces attacked Budo-Vorobiivska village in Novhorod-Siverskyi community. As a result of two munitions dropped from a UAV, a garage was destroyed by fire.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said that on 9 February, from 8pm until midnight, the enemy carried out targeted attacks on an agricultural enterprise in a village of Semenivka community. To destroy the agricultural facility, the enemy launched a combined strike, using eight strike drones and one missile. All facilities were destroyed, including tractors, trucks, garages, and hangars. According to Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, russian forces also attacked an agricultural enterprise in Zhadove village later in the evening.

At around 4am on 9 February, russian forces attacked Novhorod-Siverskyi. As a result, one man was killed and four others were injured. Residential areas were hit. Preliminary reports indicate that 10 homes were damaged and three houses were destroyed.

Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment informed that over the course of 9 February, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out shelling with mortars and tube artillery, launched FPV drone attacks (11 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (two explosions). Ten settlements came under fire.

 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Dnipro region. The russian army directed UAVs at Sviatovasylivka community. No one was injured.

Pavlohrad region. As a result of a UAV attack in Bohdanivka community, a house and a garage were damaged.

Nikopol region. The enemy attacked the district with drones and artillery. They targeted Marhanets, Myrove, Pokrovke rural and Chervonohryhorivka communities. A 54-year-old man was injured. He was given the necessary assistance. A fire broke out, burning a private house. Ten private houses were damaged, another one was destroyed, a multi-storey building, four farm buildings, a shop, two unused buildings, infrastructure, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged.

Kryvyi Rih region. The occupiers struck Kryvyi Rih by a UAV and Hrushivka community with an FPV drone. A power line was damaged.

Synelnykove region. The russian troops struck Petropavlivka and Vasylkivka communities with UAVs. A car burned and a house was damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

Mayor Serhii Morhunov said that the residents of Vinnytsia donated 200 FPV drones and 15 Matrice 4E drones to the soldiers of the 14th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine Chervona Kalyna, as well as 400 trench candles handmade by the children of Vinnytsia. 

A memorial event dedicated to the fallen hero Oleksandr Oliinyk will be held in Vinnytsia. The soldier died on 6 November 2024 in Donetsk oblast. Only this year were his relatives able to bury the defender.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, stated that recently, the communities of Novomyrhorod and Novhorodka took in people with limited mobility. Community organisations, volunteers, and concerned citizens have also been actively involved in helping the new residents adapt. In accordance with a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, nine healthcare facilities in the oblast have been designated to care for people who need outside care and constant assistance. In total, more than 192,000 people have arrived in the region since the start of the full-scale invasion. More than 85,000 have remained here to live.

Poltava oblast

In Lubny, state awards were presented to the families of servicemen who went missing or died defending Ukraine’s territorial integrity and independence. They are Junior Sergeant Viktor Mykhailenko, Private Ihor Shandyr, Sergeant Oleksii Leonenko, and Private Ihor Shabelnikov.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, reported that more than 1,900 objects have been destroyed by enemy shelling. This is according to a special register. The damage varies in scale. A building in Uman, which was hit by a russian missile, destroying an entire entrance, is one of the most difficult objects to restore, given the specifics of the work: dismantling structures and direct reconstruction. We met with the contractor and the customer at the location. We regularly discuss the progress of the work, the roadmap, and the resolution of current issues in detail. Representatives of the condominium association are traditionally involved in this communication. This is essential: constant feedback from residents.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia. A kindergarten was damaged by the blast wave: windows were shattered and premises on the kindergarten grounds were affected. There were no casualties reported, as children and staff were in shelters.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 9 February, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 23 russian attacks in Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, reported that in the morning, 4 people were injured as a result of a russian UAV attack on Vilniansk. 2 women, 1 man and 2 boys aged 1 and 10 sustained injuries. Private houses and outbuildings were damaged.

On 9 February, russian forces carried out more than 650 strikes on 35 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, 23 airstrikes were recorded on Zaporizhzhia, Veselianka, Stepne, Liubytske, Zaliznychne, Ternivka, Barvinivka, Huliaipole, Vozdvyzhivka, Zelena Dibrova, Zelene, Samiilivka, Charivne, Verkhnia Tersa, Novoselivka, Hirkе and Kopani.

Mykolaiv oblast

Based on the information provided by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on 11 February, russian forces attacked Ochakiv community 3 times by FPV drones. There were no casualties or injuries reported. 

Odesa oblast

According to the South Operational Command, at night, border guards destroyed 2 russian Shahed-136/131-type UAVs over Odesa oblast. In total, air defence forces neutralised 19 drones in southern Ukraine.

The RMA reported that during the night, russian forces attacked energy infrastructure in Izmail region, Odesa oblast. Several communities were left without electricity. Damage was recorded to an energy facility and an administrative building. There were no casualties reported.

As a result of the night strikes, more than 95,000 people in 42 settlements were left without power. The most difficult situation was recorded in Kiliia city. Emergency assistance from the State Emergency Service was deployed to the south of the oblast, including 7 high-capacity generators for critical infrastructure, 8 heat guns for heating premises and 5 field kitchens. Resilience centres are operating.

Kherson oblast

Referring to Kherson RMA, at approximately 5:30pm, russian forces attacked a man by a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. A 54-year-old man sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his legs.

At around 4:25pm, russian occupiers carried out a UAV attack on Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. As a result of an explosive dropped from a drone, a 41-year-old man was injured. He sustained mine-blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his legs.

In the morning, russian forces shelled Korabelnyi district of Kherson. As a result of the attack, a 54-year-old woman who was at home sustained a concussion, blast injuries and a closed traumatic brain injury.

At around 7:20am, russian forces struck Dniprovskyi district of Kherson by a UAV. A 32-year-old man sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to his legs and torso.

At approximately 5:30am, russian forces carried out a drone attack in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. A 67-year-old woman was diagnosed with blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to her arm.

The previous evening, at around 9pm, russian occupiers attacked Chervone village in Novooleksandrivka community by a UAV. A 40-year-old man was injured, sustaining a concussion, blast injuries and a closed traumatic brain injury.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

After the nightly attacks on the power system of Novovolynsk community, there were interruptions in the supply of electricity, water, and heat. The water supply was restored almost immediately, while utility services are working around the clock to restore electricity and heating. According to Novovolynskteplokomunenerho employees, the workday starts at six in the morning, and shifts last 12–16 hours. Crews replace each other and continue working to restore a stable supply of heat and light to homes as quickly as possible.

Zakarpattia oblast

Representatives of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of the Republic of Italy and the Social Housing Slovak NGO are on a working visit to the oblast. The leadership of the RMA discussed with partners the strengthening of cooperation in the field of health care and rehabilitation of children with disabilities and from families of defenders, interaction between healthcare institutions and tourism development.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

A space for caring for veterans has been opened in the rehabilitation department in Nadvirna community. At the same time, the facility is undergoing reconstruction of the second phase of the department, which will double its capacity.

Lviv oblast

A School of Entrepreneurship for military personnel, veterans, and their family members has opened in Lviv. The initiative will help veterans gain practical knowledge to start and develop their own business and successfully adapt to civilian life. The 1st 100 participants will begin training in the format of online modules.

Rivne oblast

Rivne RMA additionally allocated UAH 101m for financial and logistical support of air defense units. This fund is intended for additional measures to strengthen the region’s defense.

Ternopil oblast

A delegation from our partner city of Ronneby (Sweden) visited Ternopil. The City Council discussed business support, entrepreneurship development, and new opportunities for Ternopil entrepreneurs in Europe.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Almost UAH 23m was raised during the third annual charity auction, which was held with the assistance of Khmelnytskyi RMA. The funds raised will be directed to support Khmelnytskyi military hospital, units of the Security Service of Ukraine and military units

Chernivtsi oblast

Petrunia Kolodrivska, grandmother of Vladyslav Kolodrivskyi, deceased Defender of Ukraine, purchased paving stones for the paths of Zastavni Lyceum, as well as crushed stone for the access road to the city cemetery with her own funds. This is a contribution not only to the improvement of the city, but also to the preservation of the memory of the young Hero.

The 1st shipment of liquefied gas from the US has arrived in Ukraine via the Vertical Corridor.
