Since the beginning of the day, 85 combat clashes have occurred on the front line. Our defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the lines, and disrupting Russian plans.
Border areas of Ukrainian settlements have been affected by Russian artillery shelling, including: Prokhody, Esman, Bobylivka, Kucherivka, Yastrubshchyna, Ulanove, and Maryine in Sumy region; Tymonovychi in Chernihiv region. Aerial strikes targeted settlements in Sumy region as well, including Petrushivka, Osoiivka, Uhroidy, Mala Rybitsa, Prokhody, and Velykyi Prykil.
In the Kharkiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled two enemy assaults near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attempted four assaults during the day toward our positions near Pishchane and in the area of Zahryzove. Three combat clashes are still ongoing.
The aggressor increased the number of attacks to eight in the Lyman direction, attacking near the settlements of Nove, Yampolivka, and toward Dronivka, Hrekivka, Olhivka, Katerynivka, and Novomykhailivka. Four clashes are still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy has launched four attacks today, three of which have already been repelled by Ukrainian forces. Occupation units are trying to advance toward Hryhorivka and in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamianske.
In the Kramatorsk direction, our defenders repelled three enemy attacks. The enemy conducted offensive actions near Bila Hora and Kurdiumivka.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attempted to advance 16 times in the areas of Druzhba and Toretsk. Three combat clashes are currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy initiated 27 clashes of varying intensity toward Oleksandropil, Serhiivka, Kotliarivka, and near the settlements of Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zvirrove, Udachne, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, and Bohdanivka. Our defenders repelled 22 enemy attacks.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks near the settlement of Kostiantynopil and toward Bahatyr. One attack is still ongoing.
In the Hulyaipole direction, in the area of Pryvilne, three combat clashes have recently ended. At the same time, settlements of Novodarivka and Hulyaipole were hit by airstrikes using unguided rockets.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy made two unsuccessful attempts to advance toward our defenders’ positions.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled six invader attacks. Additionally, the enemy launched 23 airstrikes, dropping 34 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 207 artillery attacks, including eight with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy did not engage in active combat.
There were no significant changes in the situation on other fronts.
Ukrainian forces are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
During the night of April 10, Russia launched 145 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones over Ukrainian territory. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 85 drones, and 49 were lost from radar coverage.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting in the ranks of the Russian army. This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ukrainian side possesses the prisoners’ documents, bank cards, and personal data.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
In the Kharkiv direction, Defense Forces repelled two Russian assaults near Vovchansk, according to the Regional Military Administration (RMA).
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted four times throughout the day to advance toward Ukrainian positions near Pishchane and in the area of Zahryzove. As of 16:00, three combat engagements were ongoing.
The previous day, in the Kupiansk direction, there were two attacks by the occupiers, the RMA reported. Defense Forces repelled enemy assault actions near Zahryzove and Nova Kruhliakivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 27 times. Attempts to advance were made near the settlements of Nadiya, Katerynivka, Myrne, Serhiivka, Nove, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, and in the directions of Zelena Dolyna, Hrekivka, and Novomykhailivka.
Shelling
Over the past day, Russian Federation forces conducted a series of attacks on Kharkiv Oblast, using FPV drones, guided aerial bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). As a result of these attacks, civilians and civil infrastructure were affected.
As of 20:24, in the village of Ivashky, Zolochiv community, Bohodukhiv district, an FPV drone strike hit a residential area. A private home was destroyed.
At 18:47, two guided aerial bombs struck near the village of Huryiv, Zolochiv community.
At approximately 18:35, an unidentified type of unmanned aerial vehicle was spotted in an open field near the village of Pavlove, Bohodukhiv community.
At 16:59, in the city of Kupiansk, Kupiansk district, a utility building caught fire as a result of shelling.
At about 14:34, in the village of Bilyi Kolodiaz, Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv district, a 67-year-old woman was wounded by an FPV drone strike.
At 13:27, in the village of Shyikivka, Borivska community, Izium district, remnants of a utility building caught fire across 15 square meters, presumably due to MLRS shelling.
At 12:23, in the village of Slobozhanske, Lypetska community, Kharkiv district, a 50-year-old woman was injured due to shelling.
At around 10:18, in the city of Kupiansk, a 64-year-old man was wounded on his property as a result of shelling.
At 08:45, in the village of Blahodativka, Kindrashivska community, Kupiansk district, MLRS shelling damaged the roof, windows, and fence of a private household.
At 06:54, a guided aerial bomb strike was recorded outside the village of Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv district.
Russian shelling was primarily directed at settlements near the line of contact. As a result, civilians were injured, and residential buildings, infrastructure, and personal property were damaged.
Other
In the village of Hontarivka, Starosaltivska community, a 40-year-old man detonated an unknown explosive device while plowing a field. The farmer sustained severe injuries and was urgently hospitalized.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The Russian army has intensified pressure in the direction of Siversk. Over the past day, the occupiers launched 10 attacks on Ukrainian military positions near Bilohorivka, Hryhorivka, and Verkhniokamianske. The day before, there had been four assaults, according to the morning briefing by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian forces have also increased the number of attacks on the Lyman front, where Defense Forces repelled 27 assaults over the past day near Nadiya, Katerynivka, Myrne, Serhiivka, Nove, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, and in the directions of Zelena Dolyna, Hrekivka, and Novomykhailivka.
Ukrainian troops destroyed or damaged 31 units of Russian equipment in the Siversk direction within 24 hours. Among them were an armored vehicle, a buggy, and motorcycles, according to the Operational Strategic Group “Khortytsia.” Defense Forces also repelled an attack by a Russian armored convoy attempting to break through toward Yelyzavetivka in the Pokrovsk direction.
Shelling
In the morning, Russian troops shelled Kostiantynivka with tube artillery. The occupiers struck the administrative building of one of the city’s enterprises, reported the head of the City Military Administration, Horbunov.
Over the past day, police recorded 3,699 enemy strikes along the front line and on residential areas. Russian forces attacked 13 settlements: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Siversk, Sloviansk, Toretsk; the settlement of Novoekonomichne; and the villages of Bahatyr, Zakytne, Ivanopillia, and Serhiivka. A total of 43 civilian objects were damaged, including 21 residential houses.

One person killed – in Pokrovsk, which remains under constant Russian attacks. Four private houses were damaged.
In Novoeconomichne, Pokrovsk district, a hostile FPV drone killed a civilian.
In Kostiantynivka, Russian forces shelled with artillery and drones – killing a civilian, damaging one apartment building, four private houses, a café, a truck, and a car.
In Bahatyr, Volnovakha district, the enemy dropped a “UMPB D-30SN” bomb – a civilian was killed.
In Lyman, the occupiers struck with a “Uragan” multiple launch rocket system – one person was injured, eight private houses and two outbuildings were damaged. A resident of Siversk was wounded by artillery shelling.
Due to a massive drone attack using “Geran-2” UAVs, two private houses were damaged in Kramatorsk, a depot and seven trams in Druzhkivka, a repair garage and a civilian vehicle in Sloviansk, and in Serhiivka – two private houses, a dormitory, a community club, and a religious building were damaged.
Luhansk oblast
Over the past day, Russian forces conducted assault operations near the settlements of Nadiia, Hrekivka, and Bilohorivka. According to the Regional Military Administration, the enemy continues active combat operations along the entire line of contact in Luhansk Oblast, intensively using artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles. In particular, seven instances of artillery use and 123 UAV launches were recorded.
Artem Lysohor met with members of the Senedd – the Parliament of Wales. During the meeting, agreements were reached on developing cultural and educational cooperation between the Cardiff region of Wales and Luhansk Oblast. The parties also discussed the provision of medical equipment to relocated hospitals and humanitarian hubs in Luhansk.
Gas supply in the settlements near Sievierodonetsk has not yet been restored. Residents of Voronove, Bobrove, and Lisova Dacha have been without gas for more than two and a half years. Despite repeated appeals by residents to the occupation administration regarding the restoration of destroyed gas pipelines, repair work has never been initiated. Representatives of the so-called “gas services” explain this by the presence of landmines in the settlements and surrounding areas. Since 2022, the situation has remained unchanged. People are forced to live not only without gas supply but also in dangerous conditions, surrounded by remnants of ammunition in their yards, gardens, and streets.
The occupation administration has introduced additional restrictions on entry into frontline settlements. In particular, in the city of Svatove, entry is allowed only to persons with local registration or a special pass document. In the absence of such documentation, vehicles are stopped on the approaches to the settlement.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
As a result of an attack by enemy UAVs and the fall of debris from downed air targets in Kyiv, 4 people were injured, two of them hospitalised. In Holosiivskyi district, a blaze was reported in a warehouse, trees were damaged, and the remains of a downed UAV were found. In Darnytskyi district, a private house was destroyed, windows of nearby houses and cars were damaged.
The KCMA reported that during a nighttime drone attack on the outskirts of Kyiv and in the airspace of the capital, 30 enemy UAVs were spotted. 16 of them were destroyed by the Air Defence Forces.
In the evening, an air alert was declared in Kyiv and oblast. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, trains on the red metro line were running from Akademmistechko station only to Khreshchatyk station. Arsenalna metro station was operating only in the shelter mode.
The RMA reported that 26 communities in the Kyiv oblast signed memoranda of partnership with 29 outpost communities from border and frontline regions. The communities of the Kyiv oblast provide humanitarian aid, help with infrastructure restoration, support children from frontline communities and organise leisure and recreation for them. Exchanges of delegations and experience are also planned.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko met with ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions from 38 countries. They discussed the capital’s assistance and support for the country, the political situation, as well as opportunities for investment and the implementation of international projects in Kyiv.
On 11 April, an exhibition of contemporary art ‘BODY/Fragility’ will open at the Mykola Boichuk Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design. The exhibition is dedicated to the events that took place on 25 March 2024, when part of the academy was destroyed by a russian missile strike.
Zhytomyr oblast
Children of defenders from the Romny community received laptops to provide access to distance learning. According to the RMA, 6,806 modern laptops for the needs of students in Sumy oblast were received through cooperation with the international non-governmental organisation Finn Church Aid (FCA).
The Berezivska and Andriyivska communities became partners in the project “Side by Side: Cohesive Communities” project. On 8 April, a delegation from the Andriyivska hromada in Donetsk oblast visited the Berezivska hromada in Zhytomyr oblast as part of the project.
Recently, Zhytomyr oblast hosted a training for consultants on the UP+ (Problem Management Plus) methodology. This is a short, scalable psychological intervention developed by the World Health Organization. This approach helps adults who have experienced difficult life circumstances to cope with stress, anxiety, depression, and everyday problems.
Sumy oblast
During the night and morning, russian forces carried out 94 shellings of border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast. A total of 154 explosions were recorded. Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhyne, Esman, Khutir-Mykhailivskyi, Shostka, and Seredyna-Buda communities came under fire.
As a result of shelling in Shalyhyne community, a local resident was injured. The enemy struck the community by an FPV-drone and carried out artillery shelling.
During the night of 10 April, Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 8 enemy Shahed-type UAVs over Sumy oblast.
The Northern Forestry Office reported that on 9 April, at around 12pm, a russian drone attacked the service vehicle of an employee of the State Enterprise ‘Forests of Ukraine’ near Shalyhyne. At the time of the attack, the forestry worker was driving through a wooded area to perform his duties. When the drone dropped an explosive on the vehicle, the forester managed to jump out in time. The damaged car is beyond repair. The man was not injured.
Throughout 9 April, russian forces carried out 183 shellings in Sumy oblast, with a total of 370 strikes recorded. The enemy used mortars (95 explosions), MLRS (49 explosions), artillery (98 explosions), tanks (5 explosions), UAVs (5 explosions), FPV-drones (51 explosions), launched guided aerial bombs (59 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (26 explosions). Sixteen communities came under enemy fire: Sumy, Bezdricka, Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Putyvl, Shalyhyne, Esman, Khutir-Mykhailivskyi, Seredyna-Buda, Svesa, and Znob-Novhorodske.
The Regional Military Administration informed that as a result of russian shelling on 9 April, a civilian man was injured in Krasnopillia community. In Seredyna-Buda community, a private residential house was damaged. Shelling by barrel artillery also damaged a private residential house in Khotin community.
According to Samotoivka Town Council, Since 9 April, a mandatory evacuation has been announced for Samotoivka in Krasnopillia community. The council is organising transportation for residents who are unable to evacuate on their own.
Pavlo Kuzmenko, Okhtyrka Mayor, announced that Kremenchuk community has become the first donor community to allocate UAH 1m. for the restoration of a school in Okhtyrka that was destroyed by russian drones. On 25 March, Okhtyrka community signed cooperation memorandums with Kremenchuk, Boryslav, and Mostyska communities.
Chernihiv oblast
The State Border Guard Service reported that throughout 9 April, russian forces attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out strikes using FPV-drones (14 explosions) and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (19 explosions). Twelve villages came under enemy fire. In Semenivka community, an agricultural enterprise was damaged due to drone strikes
The State Emergency Service of Chernihiv oblast informed that on 9 April, sappers in Ivanivka territorial community removed a 152mm artillery shell and two grenade launcher rounds.

According to Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, two russian servicemen have been charged in absentia for cruel treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war during the occupation of Lukashivka village in Chernihiv oblast. In March 2022, the commander of one of the russian armed forces units, together with a subordinate serviceman, captured four Ukrainian defenders. During interrogation, the russian soldiers struck them with hands, feet, a bat, and other objects. One of the prisoners lost consciousness due to numerous beatings, and all sustained multiple bodily injuries. Additionally, the occupiers kept the Ukrainian soldiers outdoors without outerwear or shoes in low temperatures, leading to frostbite of their extremities.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the RMA, reported that from the evening until the morning, russian forces launched drones targeting Nikopol region. The attacks were directed at the regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities. A private house and a farming enterprise were damaged.
The enemy attacked Dnipro city by a ballistic missile, striking a civilian facility. A large fire broke out as a result. A 42-year-old man was killed. 5 people were injured. In total, over 30 strikes were carried out on Nikopol region, involving artillery and drones. The regional centre, Pokrov, Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities were targeted. In Nikopol, 13 people were injured, including a 16-year-old boy. Businesses, a dormitory, 2 private houses, farm buildings, a store, 5 vehicles and infrastructure facilities were damaged.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad RMA, reported that during the night, air defence forces were active in Kirovohrad oblast.
Poltava oblast
According to Poltava RMA, air defence systems were engaged overnight in Poltava oblast. In Opishnia community, debris from a downed object was recorded. Later, residents reported damage to an agricultural structure. 1 man sustained minor injuries.
Soldier Serhii Skyba from Poltava oblast was awarded the Order For Courage Third Class. The award was presented personally by Volodymyr Zelenskyi, President of Ukraine.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, stated that overnight, air defence forces shot down 12 russian UAVs in Cherkasy oblast.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 9 April, the Defence Forces repelled 9 russian attacks in Orikhiv region. Clashes occurred near Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, Lobkove and Shcherbaky.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, stated that on 9 April, the russian military carried out 407 attacks on 13 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, 120 artillery strikes targeted Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novopavlivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Malynivka and Novodarivka.
Mykolaiv oblast
Based on the information provided by Mykolaiv RMA, on the night of 10 April, russian forces attacked Mykolaiv by Shahed drones. 10 people were injured. A 29-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man remain hospitalised, while the others received outpatient treatment. Debris and blast waves damaged 9 apartment buildings, 3 vehicles, 30 garages and 1 administrative building.
On 9 April and the night of 10 April, the russian military attacked Kutsurub community twice by FPV drones and twice by artillery. 1 apartment building was damaged in one of the attacks. There were no injuries reported. The waters near Ochakiv community were targeted by drones, with no reported casualties.
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the night of 10 April, air defence forces destroyed 28 Shahed drones in Mykolaiv oblast.

Odesa oblast
Referring to the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 6am, no combat ships of the russian occupying forces were detected in the Black or Azov seas. In the Mediterranean Sea, 3 enemy ships equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles were present, with a total volley capacity of up to 26 missiles.
During the day, in russia’s interests, 8 ships passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, 5 of which continued toward the Bosporus Strait. Also, 6 ships entered the Azov Sea, 3 of which came from the Bosporus Strait.
Kherson oblast
According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, at noon, russian forces shelled Nezlamne village in Kherson oblast, injuring a 42-year-old woman who sustained blast trauma, a fractured forearm and multiple shrapnel wounds to the torso.
The State Emergency Service of the region reported that later in the day, russian forces attacked residential areas in one of Kherson’s districts. Fires broke out in a private house and on a balcony of an apartment building. Emergency services extinguished the fires.
Roman Mrochko, Head of Kherson City Military Administration, informed that russian forces dropped an explosive device from a drone on Dniprovskyi district of Kherson once again during the day, injuring a 55-year-old man.
A 77-year-old man was hit by a russian UAV in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. He was hospitalised with a leg shrapnel wound and blast trauma.
Referring to the Prosecutor’s Office, in the morning, russian forces shelled Beryslav. A 59-year-old man who was outside at the time was killed.
Roman Mrochko, Head of the CMA, said that a 64-year-old man sustained blast trauma and shrapnel wounds after russian forces dropped an explosive from a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson.
A 31-year-old resident of Antonivka was hospitalised after being attacked by a russian drone the previous evening. He is in moderate condition with blast trauma and leg shrapnel wounds.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, confirmed that a 62-year-old resident of the Kherson suburb of Antonivka, who was wounded in a russian shelling on 4 April, has died.
On 9 April, russian forces shelled 30 settlements in Kherson oblast. One person was killed and 2 injured. A high-rise building, 12 private houses and several vehicles were damaged.

Volyn oblast
Lutsk community sent 2 DJI Mavic 3 PRO quadcopters and 15 Bezpeka PRO FPV drones to the 2nd Self-Propelled Artillery Division of the Military Unit A 1008.
Zakarpattia oblast
The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Central and Lviv Regional Offices of UNICEF. The RMA and the United Nations Children’s Fund plan to cooperate in expanding the network of resilience centers in the region. These centers provide people in communities with free psychosocial, legal support, and professional consultations.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Ivano-Frankivsk community sent drones to the 1st Rifle Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade Edelveis.
Lviv oblast
The RMA held a meeting with Masashi Nakagome, Japanese Ambassador. They discussed support for Ukraine and future projects in Lviv oblast.
Lviv RMA, the Caritas of the Czech Republic in Ukraine CF, Novoiavoriv City Council and Novoiavoriv City Hospital named after Lypa signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement provides for the creation of a Mental Health Center on the basis of the City Hospital.
The UNBROKEN Rehabilitation Center is developing the direction of multisensory rehabilitation. Specialists of UNBROKEN in Lviv are improving the approach to the recovery of patients with traumatic brain injury, which is quite common among defenders. Specialists have previously used this method to improve brain function after war trauma, but now they have more tools for diagnosing and treating multisensory disorders.
Rivne oblast
In Zdolbuniv community a meeting was held with families of missing soldiers and war veterans. The events were attended by specialists from various institutions: representatives of the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Rivne Oblast, Rivne RMA, structural divisions and municipal institutions of Zdolbuniv City Council, the employment service, the pension fund and the police.
Ternopil oblast
A Prayer Breakfast was held in Ternopil. The event brought together representatives of various spheres: government, clergy, public and youth organizations, as well as politicians, military personnel, veterans, volunteers and families of fallen Heroes. They prayed for Ukraine, peace, and victory.
Ternopil community sent a modern ground drone Murakha worth UAH 1,16m to the 12th Special Forces Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Changes have been made to the Program of Social Support for Participants of the russian-Ukrainian War: additional funds have been allocated. The total volume of the Program is now over UAH 509m. In 2025 over UAH 190m.
Khmelnytskyi City Council reported that 792 Khmelnytskyi residents will receive material assistance worth UAH 8,3m: 65 family members of fallen Heroes for over UAH 1,3m, 12 families of prisoners of war or missing persons for over UAH 600,000, 134 military personnel for rehabilitation for over UAH 1,9 and 423 active military personnel for over UAH 4,2.
Chernivtsi oblast
Bukovina continues to support people who were forced to leave their homes due to russian shelling. This time, 7 evacuees from Donetsk oblast arrived in the oblast. New arrivals were settled in temporary residences in Kruhlyk and Stavchan. Transportation services for people were provided by the Coordination Humanitarian Center in cooperation with the Ukrainian Red Cross.
A career orientation event dedicated to the popularization of military education among high school students was held at Chernivtsi Regional Philharmonic. Over 400 students in grades 10–11 of schools in the city and oblast got acquainted with the conditions for admission to higher military educational institutions of the National Guard of Ukraine.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
