Towards Kharkiv, Ukrainian defenders repelled one assault by the invaders near the settlement of Vovchansk.

Towards Novopavlivka, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 16 enemy attacks near the settlements of Bahatyr, Vesele, Burlatske and Vilne Pole. Four clashes are still ongoing. The settlements of Shevchenko, Komyshuvakha, Maliivka, Olhivske were subjected to air strikes.
Towards Huliaipole, the Defense Forces successfully stopped one attempt by the invaders to advance near Malynivka, three more clashes are still ongoing. At the same time, the invaders launched air strikes on Zaliznychne.
Towards Orikhiv, Ukrainian troops stopped one enemy assault, the invaders tried to advance towards Novoandriivka.
Towards Kherson, the enemy made two attempts to advance – they were unsuccessful.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that one person was killed in a GAB strike on Kharkiv. More than 40 people were injured in varying degrees of severity.
The Air Force reports that on Saturday morning, June 7, as a result of a successful Air Force operation towards Kursk, a russian Su-35 fighter jet was shot down.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
The RMA reported that there were 212 combat clashes. Towards Kharkiv, there were five combat clashes near Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe, Vovchanski Khutory and towards Kutkivka. Towards Kupiansk, there were four attacks by the occupiers. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of the settlements of Zahryzove and Stepova Novoselivka.
Shelling
The city of Kharkiv and 7 settlements of the oblast were subjected to enemy attacks. As a result of the shelling, 3 people were killed and 22 people injured.
In the city of Kharkiv, 21 people were injured, including 2 children – a 1.5-month-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, 3 people were killed (the clearing of the rubble is ongoing); in the city of Kupyansk, a 64-year-old man was injured.
The enemy attacked Kyivskyi and Osnovianskyi districts of Kharkiv with 3 missiles, 5 KABs, 4 MLRS and 48 UAVs.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons in the Kharkiv region:

A private house was damaged in Kupiansk region.
An outbuilding and a car were damaged in Izyum region.
A cowshed was damaged in Kharkiv region;
A private house was damaged in Chuhuiv region.

As of this morning, Kharkiv oblast continued to eliminate the consequences of the enemy’s night attack, the most massive since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. As a result of the shelling, 10 people were hospitalized, the rest were provided with assistance on the spot. Three victims were taken to the hospital in serious condition. One woman was transferred to the burn unit with thermal burns of 64% of her body. The condition of the remaining wounded is mostly mild and moderate. In particular, a 1.5-month-old boy suffered an acute stress reaction. A 14-year-old girl was injured by shrapnel, her condition is moderate. 6 people may still be under the rubble – employees of the damaged enterprise, who are not in contact. All residents of the damaged apartments were offered temporary housing on site. Specialists will conduct examinations on the possibility of further operation and restoration of the building.
As a result of the GAB strikes on Kharkiv, at least 19 people were injured, 10 people hospitalized.
At about 17:35, the enemy struck 4 guided aerial bombs on Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts of the city. One of the hits was on the Children’s Railway. This is a place where there are usually many families with children. At least 40 people were injured, one person was killed.

Donetsk oblast
The police recorded 3,519 enemy strikes on the front line and residential areas. russian troops covered 22 settlements with fire. 74 civilian objects were destroyed, including 48 residential buildings.

Myrnohrad survived 6 attacks with aerial bombs, drones and artillery. russians killed a civilian, injured five more. 12 apartment buildings and a private home were damaged.
The occupiers covered Volnovakha region of Komar with Hurricane MLRSs, killing a civilian.
There is a wounded person in Kostiantynivka, which suffered 9 hits, three of them bombed. 1 apartment building and 13 private houses, a car were damaged.
One person was wounded in Pokrovsk, one in Siversk and one in Novyi Donbas.
An apartment building was damaged as a result of the russian attack on Bilytske. In Rodynske, a private house, a shopping mall, and a civilian car were destroyed.
The enemy struck Sloviansk with Tornado-S MLRS, damaging 8 apartment buildings, an educational institution, and 7 civilian cars.
In Rubtsi, a private house and three outbuildings were damaged by a KAB-250 bomb. In Hromova Balka, Oleksandrivka community, drones damaged 4 private homes and a garage; in Serhiivka, Andriivka community, – 2 private homes, an outbuilding, and a car.
In Druzhkivka, a drone hit an enterprise; in Kindrativka, a civilian car; there were no casualties. In Mykolaipillia, 2 private homes were damaged.
Luhansk oblast
The RMA reports that the enemy is pressing on Lyman and is storming the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from several sides, in particular near Hrekivka, Tverdokhlibove and in Serebrianka forestry. 46 times russians involved artillery, supporting their offensive. 75 enemy drones tried to carry out combat missions.
Without finishing with roof repairs, window replacement, and heating system restoration, the occupiers began to install passenger elevator cabins in high-rise buildings in Severskodonetsk. However, the elevators are not functioning and will not work in the near future. Apparently, due to the inability to organize dispatching. This work cannot be done because mobile communications are turned off.
There is also no mobile communications in Rubizhne. As an alternative, russians offered, as in neighboring cities, to use wired communication. They distributed advertisements with the addresses of payphones installed in the city or, as the invaders call this service, – collective street telephones. There are only four of them. You can reach them only when there is no curfew and call city and emergency numbers.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
In Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, the aftermath of the russian massive attack is still being dealt with. Almost 100 rescuers and 32 rescue vehicles are working on site. On the night of 6 June, russian strikes on the capital caused a fire at one of the infrastructure facilities covering an area of 2,000 square metres. Three rescuers working under fire were killed. These were Pavlo Yezhor, Danylo Skadin and Andrii Remennyi. In addition, 16 State Emergency Service employees were injured, including two press officers.

In memory of the firefighters who died at the site of the russian strike in Kyiv, local residents set up an improvised memorial. Throughout the day, people came and brought flowers. Foreign delegations also visited the site. These included the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, the Ambassador of Japan, Masashi Nakagome, the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Ukraine, Sofia Westberg, and a representative of the British charity FIRE AID, Edward Matthews.

Three people were killed last night as a result of enemy shelling. Seventeen victims are undergoing inpatient treatment, and eight are receiving outpatient care.
The press service of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II in Kyiv reported that the facade was damaged by a blast wave as a result of russian shelling on 6 June. The museum is operating on a normal schedule.
Kyiv City State Administration reported that the tracks and cables damaged by the russian attack on the metro section between the Darnytsia and Livoberezhna stations were repaired ahead of schedule. Energy companies also restored power to all Kyiv residents who were left without it after the nighttime enemy attack.
Ukrzaliznytsia reported that railway infrastructure damaged by a massive russian attack overnight has been restored in Kyiv oblast. The section has been reopened to trains and suburban electric trains, which are running on their usual routes without delays.
On 7 June, a rally was held in central Kyiv in support of Ukrainian soldiers who have been captured or are missing in action. In particular, people want to remember the defenders from the 32nd Mechanised Brigade and other brigades. About 30 cars set off on a car rally from the gathering point on Independence Square.
The Docudays UA festival’s extracurricular programme will feature the film “Bucha. Yablunska” by Radio Liberty, which reconstructs three days of the most intense shootings of civilians in March 2022 on the street of the same name, using video from cameras, eyewitness accounts and secret documents.
Zhytomyr oblast
Acting Romanivsky village head Yuriy Chumachenko reported that a new Fire Safety Centre for the Volunteer Fire Brigade is being built in the village of Bykivka in Zhytomyr Oblast. Work on the foundation began in March 2025. The construction is being carried out under a memorandum with GIZ, which is working on behalf of the German government.
During 2024, communities and regional authorities in Zhytomyr oblast held more than 60 meetings, establishing and deepening cooperation with representatives of many countries around the world, such as the United States, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, the Czech Republic and Romania. Oblast works closely with leading international financial institutions and donors, such as the European Investment Bank, UNICEF, the United Nations Development Programme, UNHCR, the YLID programme, NEFCO, and many other influential organisations. Thanks to active cooperation, Zhytomyr oblast has attracted about UAH 3 billion to finance recovery and humanitarian aid projects since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Partners from Estonia have already allocated more than €50 million to reconstruction projects in oblast: a modular kindergarten has been built in Ovruch, a bridge has been repaired in Malyn, housing has been built for four DBSTs, and educational programmes and projects to support vocational and technical education are being implemented.
On 6 June, representatives of local media, press services and communications agencies planted 30 catalpa trees in Hydropark, launching the ‘Word for Ukraine’ alley.
Sumy oblast
On 6 June the Northern Forestry Office branch reported that a russian Shahed drone struck the territory of Zemliankivka forestry in Berezivka community. The attack damaged an administrative building and destroyed a surveillance tower, which played a crucial role in detecting threats to forest areas, particularly fires.
Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office informed that on 6 June, russian forces struck Hlukhiv city by an FPV-drone. As a result of the attack, a local resident, Ms. Liubov, born in 1956, was injured. She was taken to Hlukhiv hospital, and after receiving medical assistance, was discharged home.
From the morning of 6 June to the morning of 7 June, russian forces carried out nearly 90 shellings across 35 settlements in 14 territorial communities of the oblast. The most intense attacks were recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (nearly 10 strikes), multiple launch rocket systems (almost 40 strikes), and UAV-dropped explosive devices (20 strikes). Additionally, russian forces launched UAV and FPV-drone attacks on Sumy oblast.
As a result of enemy strikes on the territory of Sumy oblast over the past day, the following damage was recorded:
▪️ In Berezivka community, a non-residential building was damaged.
▪️ In Velyka Pysarivka community, a private house was damaged.
▪️ In Hlukhiv community, two private houses were damaged.
▪️ In Shalyhyne community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
Over the past day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organisations from border communities, evacuated 193 people.
According to the Regional Military Administration, in Okhtyrka region, construction of the second underground school is underway. This shelter is designed to accommodate 200 people and will also serve as a modern educational space. The project is valued at nearly UAH 43m. Currently, half of the work has been completed, and the project is expected to be finished by the start of the new academic year.
12-year-old Arina Zhurba from Sumy received ‘Children – Heroes 2025’ award from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On 30 January, despite being injured, she managed to free herself from the rubble after a russian ‘Shahed’ drone struck their home. Arina began digging out her father and older brother Denys. She immediately helped her father regain consciousness and tried to rescue her brother, but the concrete slabs were too heavy. Only after rescuers arrived were they able to extract the victims. Sadly, Arina’s 18-year-old brother Denys died in hospital on 2 February.
Chernihiv oblast
The State Emergency Service reported that in Chernihiv, rescuers recovered the bodies of two deceased men from under the rubble. Emergency rescue operations at the industrial facility, where people were trapped following a russian attack, have been completed.
Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, Head of the Municipal Military Administration, said that as a result of enemy strikes on 6 June in Chernihiv, six private houses, two industrial enterprises, 215 apartments, an educational institution, a medical facility, and eight vehicles were damaged.
Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that throughout 6 June, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (10 explosions), launched ‘Shahed’-type UAV strikes (2 explosions), FPV-drone attacks (25 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (13 explosions). A total of 10 settlements came under enemy fire.
According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, in Pryluky, Chernihiv oblast, a residents paid tribute to 46-year-old Viktoriia Lebid, her 27-year-old daughter Daryna Shyhyda, and her one-year-old grandson Mykhailo. On the night of 5 June, a russian ‘Shahed’ drone struck their home. russian forces attacked Pryluky with at least six drones that night. The strike killed five people and injured nine others.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Two women, aged 45 and 88, were injured in a Russian attack in Dnipro. This was reported by Mykola Lukashuk, the head of the State Emergency Service. “An enterprise, an educational institution, infrastructure, garages, and multi-storey buildings were damaged. Cars were also damaged. It was also loud in Pavlohrad, with multi-storey buildings, cars and a company damaged. In the morning, the occupants continued to shell Nikopol. They used drones and fired from artillery. The district center and the Marhanets community were targeted. A multi-storey building was damaged in Nikopol.

Kirovohrad oblast
Vitaliy Petrenko, 36, from the city of Dolynsk, Kirovohrad region, was returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity as part of the “1000 for 1000” exchange that lasted from May 23 to 25. He has not yet seen his family and is undergoing rehabilitation. Vitaliy was taken prisoner on October 20, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region.
Poltava oblast
Pavlo Poplavskyi, a soldier from Kremenchuk, was killed while performing a combat mission in Sumy region. The soldier was 31 years old.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that two attacks by the russian army in towards Orikhiv and Huliaipole were repelled by the Ukrainian Defence Forces today, 7 June. Three more battles are still ongoing.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that the russian army carried out 574 strikes on 14 towns and villages in the Zaporizhzhia oblast during the day on 6 June. In particular, 54 air strikes were carried out on Kamyanske, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Malynivka, Olhivske, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, and Poltavka.
Mykolaiv oblast
Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on the night of 7 June, air defence forces in Mykolaiv oblast destroyed five Shaheds.
The Regional Military Administration reported that on 6 June and in the early morning of 7 June, the russian army attacked Kutsurub community with artillery and FPV drones. As a result, a shop was damaged in the village of Dniprovske, a residential building and dry grass caught fire. In the village of Yaselka, the roofs and windows of two houses were damaged as a result of artillery shelling. No one was injured.
The Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday, russian troops attacked the Mishkovo-Pogorilivska community with a strike drone, the type of which is being determined. No one was injured.
Odesa oblast
The prosecutor’s office reported that the russian army attacked Ovidopol with drones. A church building and other infrastructure were damaged. A pre-trial investigation into war crimes has been launched.

Kherson oblast
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported that the russian army fired artillery at Bilozerska in Kherson oblast. A 72-year-old woman who was in the house during the shelling was killed. A 49-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman were wounded. Doctors provided them with medical assistance.
The Regional Military Administration also informed that the russian army attacked the central district of Kherson with a drone. It hit a high-rise building.
The Regional Military Administration stated that as of 18:00, three people were reportedly killed and seven wounded as a result of russian strikes on Kherson oblast. Law enforcement agencies have launched pre-trial investigations into violations of the laws and customs of war..
The RMA reported that russian troops attacked a 44-year-old resident of Veletensky in Kherson oblast with a drone. The man was hospitalised in serious condition. He suffered explosive and traumatic brain injuries, concussion, multiple shrapnel wounds to the head, torso, arms, legs, and a broken leg.
The Regional Military Administration informed that russian troops dropped explosives from a drone on a resident of Kindiika near Kherson. The 72-year-old woman suffered a mine-blast injury and a body contusion.
The Regional Military Administration also stated that at around 13:30, russian forces attacked Kherson suburb of Antonivka with a drone. Two men, aged 59 and 60, were wounded. They were taken to hospital.
The Regional Military Administration reported that a 49-year-old man was hit by a russian drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. He suffered explosive trauma.
The Air Force reported that Ukrainian military shot down a Russian Su-35 fighter jet in the Kursk direction in the morning.
The Regional Military Administration informed that in the morning russian military attacked a civilian car with a drone in the Dnipro district of Kherson. Two people were injured. Medical personnel are providing them with the necessary assistance.
Head of the Regional Military Administration Prokudin reported that russian troops shelled the Korabelny district of Kherson at night. Two high-rise buildings were damaged. A married couple, a 56-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman, were killed.
The police reported that police officers evacuated a wounded man and his mother from Beryslav in Kherson oblast. A 47-year-old local resident was injured when russian military personnel dropped explosives from a drone. His 72-year-old mother also needed to be evacuated. Both were taken away in an armoured vehicle, the wounded man was handed over to medics, and the woman was taken to a safe place.
Head of the Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin reported that two people were killed and 10 wounded in Kherson oblast over the past day due to shelling. Two high-rise buildings, 12 private houses, warehouses, agricultural machinery and cars were damaged. The russian army shelled 29 settlements in oblast.
The police reported that in the Novovorontsov community in Kherson oblast, russian troops struck a checkpoint with two FPV drones over the past day. A 22-year-old police officer was wounded. He was hospitalised with blast trauma and concussion.
Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine
Volyn oblast
In Lutsk, at 4:15am, while clearing the rubble, rescuers discovered the body of the second victim of yesterday’s russian attack – a girl born in 2001. The woman’s deceased husband was found under the rubble earlier.
15 teams were formed to cover damaged windows from wind and rain and another 3 teams – for urgent roof repairs. These teams started working to liquidate the consequences of the russian attack on Lutsk. 15 commissions were created to conduct apartment-by-apartment and house-by-house inspections, record damage, conduct consultations with residents, and provide instructions on further steps.
Lutsk City Council will compensate for the cost of repairs based on the acts drawn up in accordance with the rules. If, for various reasons, residents are unable to carry out the repairs themselves, the City Council will do so.
Experts will assess the most damaged houses and provide an opinion on the possibility of their restoration.
After assessing the damage, additional funds will be allocated at an extraordinary session on Tuesday to eliminate the consequences of the disaster and help people.
Zakarpattia oblast
The summer health campaign-2025 has started in the oblast. It is planned to provide quality recreation to over 8,000 children from privileged categories. Currently, 25 certified institutions are operating, and there will be 87 in total. Over UAH 7m were allocated from the regional budget for the purchase of vouchers, and over UAH 10m for organizing recreation at the Arnika camp.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The RMA reported that as part of the Caring for the Hero’s Family project, relatives of the fallen defenders from Tysmenytsia community visited the Verkhovynskyi National Nature Park.
Lviv oblast
The RMA reported that Zhovtanetsk community sent electronic warfare equipment (EW) on a car, as well as a stove carrier, stoves, turnstiles, a dump bag, a sleeping bag, a sleeping mat, uniforms, shoes, a backpack, a portable gas stove, and replacement gas cylinders.
Rivne oblast
A Center for Training Citizens for National Resistance has been created in Rivne oblast. The facility will be staffed by veterans with combat experience.
Ternopil oblast
On the night of 6 June, russia launched its largest massive attack on Ternopil oblast during the full-scale war. Air defense forces shot down some of the strike drones and cruise missiles over the oblast.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
At night, during an air alert signal, the Air Defense Forces and Means of the Armed Forces of Ukraine neutralized 4 enemy Shahed drones. There were no injuries, deaths or damage.
Chernivtsi oblast
Since the beginning of this year, the oblast has received 4 evacuation trains. 63 people arrived who were forced to leave their homes due to active hostilities.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
The Ukrainian delegation in Washington met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. They discussed the situation on the front line and the need to strengthen support for Ukraine in the field of air defense.
