Borderline settlements continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of the russian Federation, in particular: Starykove, Shalyhyne, Popivka, Stepok, Prokhody, Marine, Velykyi Prykil in Sumy oblast. In addition, the enemy carried out air strikes near the settlements of Turia, Uhrody, Myropilske, Prokhody in Sumy oblast.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy stormed the positions of our defenders once near Zahryzove.
Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked 13 times – near Nadiia and in the direction of Novoplatonivka, Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Ridkodub and Novyi. Six engagements are still ongoing.
Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian defenders are currently repelling one attempt by the occupiers to advance in the area of Kurdyumivka. Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped two firefights near Chasiv Yar.
Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked eight times near Dachne, Shcherbynivka and Toretsk. One firefight is still ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders have made 30 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Kalynove, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Udachne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, as well as in the directions of Kotliarivka and Serhiivka. Ukrainian defence forces are holding back the enemy’s offensive and repelled 25 attacks, five firefights are still ongoing.
Towards Novopavlivka, our troops repelled five enemy attacks near Kostiantynopil and Skudne. One firefight is still ongoing.
Towards Huliaipole, the invaders carried out air strikes on Voskresenka, Zelene Pole, Novopol, Malynivka and Huliaipole.
Our troops stopped three enemy attacks towards Orikhiv near Mali Shcherbaki.
The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions towards Kharkiv, Siversk and Kherson.
Towards Kursk, Ukrainian defenders repelled six russian attacks, and three more clashes are still ongoing. The enemy has carried out three air strikes since the start of the day, dropping a total of three guided aerial bombs and 162 artillery shellings on Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements.
The situation in other frontline areas has not changed significantly.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that russia has killed 591 Ukrainian athletes, 22 are in captivity, and 11 are missing. These data, as of March 2025, were provided by the Ministry on International Sports Day. In addition, 725 sports facilities have been damaged or destroyed by russian attacks, including 17 Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic training bases. For decades, russia has used sport for propaganda. 10 of the 15 russian athletes competing under a neutral flag at the 2024 Paris Olympics either publicly supported the war or were affiliated with the military. While Ukraine seeks peace, russia continues to launch missiles and undermine global peace efforts.
The Ministry of Defence has approved a ground robot with a machine gun for use in the Armed Forces. The ground robotic system is equipped with a large-calibre machine gun. It can perform a range of tasks such as surveillance, patrolling, fire support for the Defence Forces, and destruction of russian manpower and lightly armoured vehicles.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
As of 4pm, no russian attacks towards Kharkiv.
Towards Kupiansk, the invaders stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces once near Zahryzove.
Towards Lyman, russians attacked 13 times, in particular, in the direction of Novoplatonivka. Fighting continues in the sector.
The RMA reported that two firefights took place near Vovchansk and Kamianka towards Kharkiv yesterday.
Eight enemy attacks were registered towards Kupiansk yesterday. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults near Pishchane, Nova Kruhliakivka, Bohuslavka and Zahryzove.
Attacks
Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv community, reported that at 5:20pm, russians dropped four unmanned aerial vehicles on the outskirts of Baranivka and Ud villages. No information on damage or casualties has been reported so far.
Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of Derhachi community, stated that around 5:10pm, the russian army hit Slatyn with two MRLS. One of the strikes hit a dense civilian area: according to preliminary estimates, at least eight private houses were damaged.
In the morning, the occupiers dropped a UAV on Tokarivka Druha village of Derhachi community. A 48-year-old man died as a result of the impact. Two women suffered an acute stress reaction.
The day before at 5:44am, balconies and apartments on the ninth floor caught fire as a result of a hit to a nine-storey residential building in Kupiansk. The fire covered an area of 100 sq m. The building was partially damaged. Two civilians were injured – a 67-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman.
At 6:13am, russian shelling damaged the roofs of five private households.
At 7:37am, an outbuilding and a residential building were on fire in Kupiansk. The total area of the fire was 200 sq m.
At 7:57am, the occupiers struck the outskirts of Berezivka village, Bohodukhiv region, Zolochiv community, with an aerial guided bomb.
At 8:20am, two private houses, outbuildings and street power grids were damaged as a result of two FPV drones in Ivashky.
At 8:36am, private houses caught fire as a result of shelling.
The shelling continued in the afternoon in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
At 5:28pm, as a result of several hits from multiple unmanned aerial vehicles in different settlements of Zolochiv community, private property was damaged and a civilian was injured. In the village of Zolochiv, on 24 Ostrovna Street, an unexploded ordnance hit the meadows in the open area. The explosion damaged a private house and the windows of an outbuilding. A 68-year-old woman was injured. In the villages of Klinova-Novoselivka, Kalynove and Sosnivka, the MRLS hit open ground.
At 7:23pm, russians attacked Udy village, Zolochiv community. Four aerial guided bombs hit the open area.
Last week, six people died in Kharkiv and Kucherivka as a result of russian shelling. Another 66 residents of Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Bohodukhiv and Kharkiv regions were injured and suffered acute stress reactions.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that russian troops shelled Kharkiv 41 times last week. Most often, russian troops used Shahed drones to strike the city. 51 people were injured or suffered acute stress reactions as a result of these attacks, five people, including a child, were killed.
Other
Merefa community has arranged a shelter in an institution that is more than 120 years old. The shelter will be able to accommodate 80 pupils at a time.

Ukrposhta’s mobile offices will temporarily stop serving 221 settlements in Chuhuiv, Kupiansk, Izium, Kharkiv and Bohodukhiv regions of Kharkiv oblast. This is due to active hostilities and constant shelling.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The General Staff said that 22 fewer combat engagements took place towards Pokrovsk over the last day. Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 53 russian attacks in the areas of Sukha Balka, Kalynove, Udachne, Sribne, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyarivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, Bohdanivka, Vodiane Druhe, Kotlyne and Uspenivka.
Russian troops did not conduct any active offensive towards Kramatorsk yesterday. Towards Lyman, the russian army attacked 22 times.
Denys Perch, commander of the Favoryt unmanned aerial vehicle company, said that towards Lyman, russian troops shifted their main efforts towards Borova and intensified assaults towards Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka and Novoliubivka. Towards Toretsk, the russians are using fibre-optic drones and CABs.
Russian troops are stepping up pressure on the Liman front. Analysts of the DeepState project report an escalation in the area of Katerynivka and Nove. According to the project’s co-founder Ruslan Mykula, the situation on the frontline near Lyman is currently the most threatening.
Attacks
Yesterday police recorded 3,547 hostile attacks on the frontline and residential areas. The attacks took place in 9 settlements: Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, Hnativka, Zoria, Stara Mykolaivka and Yablunivka. 53 civilian objects were destroyed, including 51 residential buildings.

The occupiers attacked Kostiantynivka and the surrounding area with 5 FAB-250 bombs and a drone, damaging a private house.
Russia dropped eight bombs on the Illinivka community: 27 private houses were damaged in Stara Mykolaivka, 9 in Hnativka, and 8 in Zoria. An artillery strike damaged a household in Yablunivka.
The enemy attacked Kramatorsk with a Molniia-2 UAV, destroying three private houses and a civilian car.
Russian troops launched a FAB-250 bomb at Pokrovsk, partially destroying a five-storey building.
In Rodynske, an apartment building and a garage were damaged by a Molniia-2 UAV.
Other
Ruslan Prykhodko, Deputy Minister for Veterans’ Affairs of Ukraine, and Yevhen Sosnovskyi, a resident of Mariupol, said that due to the establishment of the date of occupation of Mariupol, citizens are deprived of benefits, in particular, people cannot receive disability status related to hostilities. These dates are based on information submitted by local governments as a proposal to include the relevant territories and dates. The Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs has prepared and submitted for consideration a draft resolution that will allow disability to be recognised after the de-occupation of the territories.
Luhansk oblast
The RMA reported that yesterday the russian army tried to advance twice in Bilohorivka. They also attacked near Novoiehorivka and Nadiia. The enemy sent 145 UAVs at the defenders in our area of responsibility. The occupiers shelled the territory 16 times.
Forced mobilisation has aggravated the situation in almost all areas of activity. Currently, only 288 people are registered at local employment centres. However, the labour market demand is about 12,000. The staff shortage caused by the arbitrariness of military enlistment offices cannot be stopped by russian programmes to invite teachers, doctors, and cultural workers from other regions of the russian Federation for money.
The towns around Lysychansk, seized in 2022, remain without electricity. In Pryvillia and Novodruzhesk, no work has been organised to rebuild housing and critical infrastructure.
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, stated that the russian occupiers have tightened control over the border between Rostov oblast of the russian Federation and the temporarily occupied Luhansk oblast. Earlier, the occupiers promised to simplify border crossing with the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” from 2022.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The State Emergency Service reported that in Obolonskyi district of Kyiv, the debris is being cleared at the site of a russian missile strike on the morning of 6 April. Rescuers are continuing emergency recovery operations at two locations. The State Emergency Service reminded that the russian attack damaged the building of a business centre as well as a furniture workshop and a warehouse. More than 100 cubic metres of destroyed structures and debris have already been dismantled.
The OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Jan Bratu, condemned the russian missile attack on buildings in Kyiv that hosted the editorial offices of the state-owned Multimedia Broadcasting Platform of Ukraine. According to him, the russian missile attacks targeted the offices of Ukrainian foreign-language TV channels and caused serious damage. The affected channels include FREEDOM, Dim, UATV English, The Gaze, UATV Español, UATV Arabic, UATV Português.

A new high-security police station № 2 was opened in Borodianka. The building was destroyed during the full-scale russian invasion in 2022. The station is designed so that civilians are separated from detainees. There is a segregated entrance for patrol police officers. An area for visitors with children has been set up in the reception area.
The hub of the 1st separate assault battalion named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo was opened in Kyiv. The hub is to host theoretical classes for civilians and a recruitment advisory centre. Representatives of the unit will organise free master classes, lectures and tactical medicine training for civilians at the hub.
Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the capital will increase municipal allowances for junior medical staff. Separately, the city plans to support prosthetists working with military and civilians who have lost limbs with additional payments.
Kyiv hosted the Ukrainian Military Sports All-Around Championship dedicated to Ihor “Stich” Voevodin, a member of the Azov Brigade who was killed in action in 2023 while defending Ukraine. The championship brought together more than 400 participants from 13 oblasts of Ukraine – athletes of all ages and with different backgrounds – who competed to honour the memory of the hero.
Zhytomyr oblast
Veterans’ care spaces were opened at Berdychiv Hospital for War Veterans and at Herbachevsky Regional Clinical Hospital. The total cost of setting up the rooms in the two healthcare facilities in oblast totalled over UAH 2m. The implementation of this project will help in the treatment of military patients.
In Zhytomyr oblast, volunteers from Chudniv community made more than 100 camouflage nets for the military in a year. Since February 2024, Dubyshche Gymnasium has been running a volunteer initiative called “Bringing Victory Together”. Teachers, students and local residents joined forces to make camouflage nets for Ukrainian defenders.
Sumy oblast
Ruslan Mykola, Co-founder of the Analytical Project DeepState reported russian forces continue to assault Basivka village in Yunakivka community. It is the largest village on the border with shelters, which could be used as a stronghold for further assaults towards Yunakivka. According to him, russian troops are attempting to enter the village in small assault groups.
On 6 April, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine refuted russia’s Ministry of Defence claim regarding the capture of Basivka. According to the statement, small assault groups of russian forces are entering the village but are being eliminated by Defence Forces units.
The Regional Military Administration informed that since the beginning of 2025, due to russian military aggression in Sumy oblast, 40 civilians have been killed and 353 injured. In 2024, 28 people were killed and 133 wounded in the oblast.
The Regional Military Administration reported that during the night and morning of 7 April, russian forces carried out 42 shellings of border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast. A total of 102 explosions were recorded. Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Nova Slobidka, Shalyhyne, and Svesa communities came under fire. As a result of the shelling, an outbuilding in Krasnopillia community was damaged.
Throughout 6 April, russian forces carried out 87 attacks in Sumy oblast, with a total of 186 strikes recorded. The enemy used mortars (35 explosions), MLRS (61 explosions), artillery (31 explosions), FPV-drones (9 explosions), launched guided aerial bombs (33 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (17 explosions). Nine communities came under enemy fire: Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Esman, Shalyhyne, and Seredyna-Buda.
During the night of 6 April, eight russian strike drones targeted the territory of the fish processing enterprise “Dary Moria” in Sumy. As a result, storage and office premises, as well as vehicles, were damaged. According to the enterprise owner Roman Kuliomza, high-value equipment and over 400 tonnes of frozen fish were destroyed. At the time of the strikes, employees were present at the enterprise but managed to take shelter, so no injuries were reported.
The Regional Police reported that near Sumy, police bomb disposal experts neutralized the warhead of a russian UAV. The debris was discovered by locals in a forest strip in Sumy region.
The crew of the special police unit “White Angel” successfully evacuated six residents from one of the villages in the border Myropillia community, which is under constant threat of shelling. Among those evacuated were four men and two women. One of the women required special transportation conditions.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that in Chernihiv oblast, on 6 April, russian forces shelled the border Semenivka community. Twelve mortar strikes were recorded in Yanzhulivka village and eighteen in Zarichchia village.
Last week, russian forces targeted 26 settlements in four regions of the oblast. The enemy carried out 144 shellings, resulting in a total of 344 explosions. During the attacks, russian troops used Iskander-M ballistic missiles, unguided aerial rockets, strike drones, artillery systems, and mortars of various calibers. According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, two civilians were injured during FPV-drone attacks on Novhorod-Siverskyi. Homes, businesses, transport infrastructure, and a truck were damaged.
The Regional Military Administration informed that more than UAH 1.9bn. is the total amount of compensation allocated by territorial community commissions to residents of Chernihiv oblast under the yeVidnovlennia program. This compensation covers 5,132 applications for homes destroyed or damaged by russian forces.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the allocation of UAH 2bn. from the reserve fund of the state budget to support 200 frontline communities in nine oblasts, including Chernihiv oblast. According to Andrii Podorvan, Advisor to the Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, preliminary information indicates that five communities in the oblasts will benefit: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Koriukivka, Snovsk, and Horodnia.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
From evening until morning, the enemy shelled Nikopol region by artillery and kamikaze drones. The occupiers targeted the regional centre, Pokrov and Marhanets communities. The consequences of the morning strikes are still being clarified. As a result of yesterday’s attack on Novopavlivka community in Synelnykove region, 7 shops, an administrative building, unused buildings and a garage were damaged. 3 people were injured – a 62-year-old man and 2 women aged 23 and 57. They were hospitalised in moderate condition.
During the day, the occupiers launched nearly 30 attacks on Nikopol region by artillery and drones. The regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove, Pokrov and Marhanets communities came under attack. 4 people were injured – 2 men aged 24 and 57 and 2 women aged 56 and 49. All of them received the necessary medical assistance. An office building, 2 private houses, businesses, infrastructure facilities, a truck and a religious institution were damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
The executive office of Vinnytsia RMA delivered essential equipment — drone antennas and Bandera Power units — to the fighters of the Chervona Kalyna unit. This is precisely the equipment the military had requested. It is needed to ensure uninterrupted communications at positions and to carry out operational tasks.
According to the Ministry of Defence, women account for 37% of individuals who contacted the recruitment centres in Vinnytsia oblast. During the first week of April, Ukraine’s military recruitment centres provided 1,137 consultations. The total number of inquiries has reached 49,543. Among all citizens who sought consultation, 9,964 candidates began the process of joining the Defence Forces of Ukraine, including 199 over the past week.
Kirovohrad oblast
Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that restoration efforts continue in Blahovishchensk community following an enemy missile strike. Among the 52 private houses affected, 5 suffered the most damage and windows in the local lyceum destroyed. A rapid response team from the regional branch of the Red Cross and local crews are replacing damaged roofing and covering windows with protective film. Nearly 20 private households have received the necessary building materials.
The large-scale national project Side by Side: United Communities! continues to expand. More and more communities in Kirovohrad oblast are partnering with frontline communities in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy and Donetsk oblasts. It is important to witness the extent of destruction and jointly plan recovery actions. Memorandums of cooperation have been signed and the first steps outlined.
Poltava oblast
2 servicemen from Poltava oblast were killed while performing combat missions in Donetsk oblast. Serhii Yakymenko was killed on 1 April 2025, near Udachne village, and Serhii Kovalov killed on 2 April 2025, near Burlatske settlement.
Cherkasy oblast
Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi community paid tribute to fallen defender Roman Katerusha. Roman was killed while carrying out a combat mission on 30 March 2025, in Kupiansk region. He was the third son in his family to be killed defending Ukraine.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that during the day, the occupiers struck 274 times at 11 localities in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian troops carried out 3 airstrikes on Orikhiv, Novoandriivka and Novopavlivka. 40 UAVs of various modifications attacked Bilenke, Stepove, Kamianske, Huliai Pole, Shcherbaki, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne and Novodarivka.
Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka and Novodarivka were hit by 5 MLRS attacks.
Stepove, Kamianske, Huliai Pole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne and Novodarivka were hit by 126 artillery shells.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, had a meeting with Erik Schweickhardt, Director of the Strengthening Urban Resilience in Ukraine project. The energy security, the modernization of critical infrastructure, and the development of administrative services were discussed.
Mykolaiv oblast
On 6 April, at 10:03am, the enemy fired artillery at the waters of the Ochakiv community. At 3:40pm, on 6 April, the enemy fired artillery at Kutsurub community. There were no casualties.
Odesa oblast
Odesa Regional State Administration said that a Latvian delegation headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Edmunds Valantis has arrived in Odesa. The meeting discussed the general situation in the region, the potential for Latvian participation in the concession of the Black Sea Commercial Sea Port, support for the region’s energy system, and the development of business contacts in a roundtable format with the participation of entrepreneurs from Odesa and Latvia.
Kherson oblast
At around 1pm, the russian army attacked Sadove with artillery. A 20-year-old man came under enemy fire. He was seriously injured. The victim was hospitalised.
At around nine in the morning, russians attacked a man with a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson.
The 47-year-old man suffered blast injuries and contusion. He was treated by medics.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that Antonivka, Blahovishchenske, Bilozerka, Romashkove, Dniprovske, Velytenske, Berehove, Kizomys, Shyroka Balka, Tomyna Balka, Stanislav, Sofiivka and Poniativka came under hostile fire and air strikes yesterday, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Ivanivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Beryslav, Shliakhove, Tyahyntsi, Chervonyi Maiak, Novooleksandrivka, Osokorivka, Havrylivka, Respublika, Zolota Balka, Kostyrka, Vesele, Kozatske and Kherson. 1 person was killed and 5 others were injured.
Last week, more than 195 residents of Beryslav region received free medical care as part of the work of mobile clinics in Kherson oblast. The project is being implemented by the Fortitude Charitable Foundation in cooperation with the International Rescue Committee in Ukraine with the support of the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Ivano-Frankivsk Professional College of Physical Education and the Department of Veteran Policy of the RMA signed a memorandum of cooperation. This document will expand veterans’ opportunities to engage in adaptive sports, namely, it will provide additional locations for strength and contact sports.
Lviv oblast
Lviv sent cars to the military from the Blågula Bilen Swedish-Ukrainian CF.
Ivan Franko Community Center in Drohobych region hosted the Oksamyt Dance Festival, during which almost UAH 33.000 were raised.
A memorial plaque to Hero, a graduate of this educational institution, Dmytro Tsisa, was unveiled and consecrated on the facade of the Uhersky Lyceum, Strii community. The soldier was killed in June 2022 in Donetsk oblast.
Thanks to donations from Ukrainians in Italy, Comunita Ukraina di Venezia sent electronic warfare equipment, 2 drone detectors and medicines for the stabilization point in Kherson direction worth UAH 130,000.
Rivne oblast
Rivne oblast is expanding its veteran support network. An additional 40 vacancies for specialists in supporting demobilized military personnel will be opened at the regional council’s Veteran Space municipal institution.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil community sent 5 Mavic quadcopters to the 141st Separate Mechanized Brigade thanks to the budget.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
A new team of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency has arrived at Khmelnytskyi NPP site. A meeting was held with the participation of the management of Khmelnytskyi NPP branch, where experts from the 38th IAEA team, who have been working at Khmelnytskyi NPP for the past three weeks, provided their preliminary conclusions on the state of nuclear and radiation safety and security.
Khmelnytskyi City Council has allocated an additional UAH 138m to support the Defense Forces. Since the beginning of 2025, this amount has already reached almost UAH 500m.
Chernivtsi oblast
Chernivtsi RMA held a regular meeting of the Coordination Council on Mental Health. Experts discussed the implementation of the Steel and Mandrotherapy projects in the oblast, selected as priority by the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
A meeting with a delegation from the city of Rueil-Malmaison, led by Mayor Patrick Ollier, was held at Chernivtsi City Council. New cultural projects were discussed.

The European Commission transferred €3.5bn to Ukraine from the next tranche under the Ukraine Facility. These funds will help us continue to maintain macroeconomic stability.
Ihor Brusylo, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with Davide La Cecilia, Special Representative of Italy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, and Carlo Formosa, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Ukraine. They discussed the key stages of preparation for the international conference Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will be held on 10–11 July in Rome.
