The russian army, despite the significant losses suffered by our defenders, continues to try to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops.
On 6 April, there were 75 combat engagements on the frontline.
Artillery shelling from the territory of russia hit the areas of Prokhody, Maryine, Miropilske, Velykyi Prykil, Petrushivka, Kucherivka in Sumy oblast; Klinova Novoselivka in Kharkiv oblast. In addition, the aviation of the terrorist country conducted air strikes with guided aerial bombs in the areas of Turia and Krasnopillia in Sumy oblast.
Towards Kharkiv, the enemy did not conduct any active offensive, however, it did conduct airstrikes on Berezivka, Kozacha Lopana and Dvorichanske.
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops’ positions twice in the vicinity of Pishchane, and the fighting continues.
Towards Lyman, the invading army carried out 11 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Novoiehorivka, Nove, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka and in the vicinity of Novomykhailivka and Torske. Five firefights are currently ongoing.
Towards Toretsk, russians tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions in the vicinity of Dachne, Diliyivka, Toretsk and Leonidivka, where the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled seven attacks by russian units, and three more engagements are still ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, the enemy made 29 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the vicinity of Sukha Balka, Kalynove, Udachne, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyarivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka and Bohdanivka. Defence forces are holding back the attack and repelled 21 enemy attacks. Berestok and Pokrovsk came under enemy air strikes.
Towards Novopavlivka, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three attacks by the occupying army near Rozlyv and Kostiantynopil, and one attempt to storm our positions has already been stopped.
Towards Huliaipole, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks in the vicinity of Pryvilne.
Towards Orikhiv, Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped three enemy attacks towards Shcherbaky and Kamianske. Novopavlivka, Orikhiv and Novoandriivka were subjected to airstrikes by Ukrainian drones.
In Kursk oblast, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks by the invaders, and six more combat engagements are ongoing. In addition, the enemy fired 93 artillery shells at Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements, including 13 from multiple launch rocket systems, and conducted five air strikes, dropping 11 guided bombs.
The enemy did not conduct any active offensive actions towards Siverskyi, Kramatorsk and Kherson.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports that during the week, russia launched over 1,460 guided aerial bombs, almost 670 strike drones and over 30 missiles of various types over the territory of Ukraine.
The Air Force reports that on the night of April 6, Russia carried out a combined strike with air-, land-, sea-based missiles and strike UAVs – 23 missiles and 109 strike UAVs. The shooting down of 53 air targets was confirmed: 6 X-101/X-55 cruise missiles; 6 Caliber cruise missiles; 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile and 40 Shahed strike UAVs; another 53 drones were recognized as locationally lost.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
The General Staff reported that towards Kharkiv, the russian federation did not conduct active offensive operations, however, it carried out airstrikes on Berezivka, Kozacha Lopan and Dvorichanske.
Towards Kupiansk, the occupier twice attacked the positions of Ukrainian units near Pishchane, clashes are ongoing.
One clash took place towards Kharkiv near the settlement of Kamyanka.
Towards Kupiansk, there were six attacks. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions in the vicinity of Petropavlivka, Zahryzove and Nova Kruhliakivka.
Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman for the Khortytsia separate military unit, informs that towards Kupiansk, russians continue to attempt to cross the Oskil and approach Kupiansk. Ukrainian fighters in the direction continue to drive out russians from the western bank, who had accumulated there when the river was covered with ice.
Shelling
Viktor Kovalenko reported that russian aviation struck Zolochiv community with four GABs. Three GABs hit the outskirts of the villages of Klynova-Novoselivtsi, Kalynove, Sosnivka. The fourth air bomb hit meadows in the territory of Zolochiv: a 68-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction, a private house and outbuildings were damaged.
Oleh Synehubov, Head of the regional administration, reports that in the morning, russians dropped a GAB on a multi-storey building in Kupiansk: the hit occurred on the ninth floor, which caused the balconies from the second to the seventh floors to catch fire, as well as four apartments. A 67-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman were injured as a result of the strike.
Andrii Besedin, Head of the administration, says that a woman who was injured by a russian strike in Kupiansk suffered moderate injuries and is in hospital. She lives on the seventh floor of a multi-storey building on which the KAB was dropped. The second injured person, a man, lives in a building nearby. He refused to be hospitalized.

The day before, at 13:18, russians shelled Izyum region, Borova village. As a result of the shelling, an outbuilding with an area of 27 m² and the roof of a private house with an area of 3 m² burned.
At 10:50, the enemy attacked Bohodukhiv region, Ivashky village. As a result of the shelling, two private houses, outbuildings and a power line were damaged by four FPV drones.
At 09:00, russians shelled Kupiansk. Previously, the strike was carried out with MLRS. As a result of the attack, a private house and an outbuilding were destroyed, and the glazing of the windows of an apartment building, two private houses and a lyceum were damaged.
At 08:30, Kupiansk was shelled. The GAB strike damaged the roof and glazing of the city council windows.
At 08:12, the village of Kozacha Lopan, Kharkiv region, was shelled. The type of shelling is being specified. Four private houses were damaged as a result of the attack.
At 06:07, the enemy attacked the village of Slatyne, Kharkiv region. 14 private houses were damaged as a result of the KAB shelling.
At 05:42, russians struck the city of Kupiansk. As a result of the GAB shelling, the balconies on the 4th and 7th floors of a nine-story apartment building were on fire. The landing in an open area was also on fire.
At 00:25, russians attacked Chuhuiv region, the village of Staryi Saltiv. As a result of the attack by a Shahed UAV, a tent with building materials and furniture covering an area of 450 m², located in the courtyard of the educational institution, was on fire.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
The General Staff reports that the russian army has almost doubled the number of attacks towards Pokrovsk. Ukrainian military repelled 75 attacks near Kotliarivka, Valentynivka, Oleksandropol, Tarasivka, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Kotlyny, Udachne, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka and Bohdanivka, the day before there were 40 assaults.
The occupiers remain active near Lyman, where there were 26 attacks on Defense Forces positions near Novoiehorivka, Novolyubivka, Hrekivka, Novy, Katerynivka and towards Zelena Dolyna.
Six tanks of the russian army, as well as the electronic warfare station Zhitel were destroyed towards Kramatorsk by border guards of the Luhansk detachment in two weeks of work.
Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman for the Khortytsia separate military unit, informs that infantrymen of the Russian army are storming Ukrainian positions towards Lyman with anti-tank mines in their hands. The occupiers have already used such tactics towards Toretsk and in Chasiv Yar.
Shelling
According to Kramatorsk RMA, russian troops struck the private sector of Kramatorsk, without casualties. The consequences of the destruction are being clarified.
The day before, one person was injured as a result of russian shelling of Donetsk oblast. The police recorded 3,203 enemy attacks on the front line and residential areas. 5 settlements were hit: the cities of Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, the villages of Zoria, Stara Mykolaivka, and Tikhonivka.

30 civilian objects were destroyed, including 23 residential buildings. The occupiers hit Tikhonivka with a FAB-250 bomb – a civilian was injured. 3 private houses, a car, a gas pipeline, and a power line were damaged.
In Kostiantynivka, 2 private houses, an educational institution, and an electrical network were destroyed as a result of an airstrike.
russians dropped 3 FAB-250 air bombs on the village of Zoria – 7 houses and an educational institution were damaged.
russian troops attacked Stara Mykolaivka with a FAB-250 bomb with an UMPK module – 11 households were destroyed.
Luhansk oblast
Viktor Trehubov, Spokesman for the Khortytsia separate military unit, informs that russian troops are actively trying to recapture the village of Nadiia in Luhansk oblast, which was liberated by the Third Assault Brigade in March 2025.
The RMA informs that yesterday, the invaders stormed the vicinity of Novoiehorivka, Novoliubivka, Hrekivka and Bilohorivka. Ukrainian servicemen are holding defence there. russians launched 22 artillery strikes at their shelters and the above-mentioned settlements. Combat missions were carried out by 127 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.
In Rostov oblast of the russian federation, local authorities decided to remind that the border with the occupied Luhansk oblast remains. It is only allowed to cross it in designated places with checks of belongings and documents. The so-called ‘luhansk people’s republic’ promised to simplify the crossing in the autumn of 2022, after the pseudo-referendum. However, instead of concessions, we see regular tightening of control. By the way, in the absence of a luhansk registration in the passport, it is possible to get to the russian federation and back only in four places.
Despite all the statements about the current stages of development of medicine, there is a marriage of therapists and university specialists, without even mentioning the existence of necessary equipment. Personnel nutrition there is urgently needed to meet the requests of medical teams from Perm. With all possible speed, we already reached twelve in 2.5 years.
Roman Vlasenko, Head of the RMA, reports that the population of the instantly occupied Siverskodonetsk region of Lugansk region has been reduced to less than half since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the russian federation. in the occupied Luhansk oblast, a draft for the people of 2007 began. They are trying to arrange contracts with the russian army in order to send them to the front. The so-called “lpr” has created a significant shortage of personnel in “human” specialties. The region is losing about 40% of the number of residents who lived there before the start of the large-scale invasion of the russian federation. Most of the people living in the area today are guests from the regions of the russian federation.

Kyiv oblast
Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, reported that on the night of 6 April, the enemy launched 6 ballistic missiles. One was shot down, the rest attacked Kyiv and oblast.
In Kyiv oblast, the alert lasted all night – the enemy performed a massive combined attack with UAVs and missiles. According to the RMA, one man was injured in a fire in a private house in Fastiv region. In Brovary region, the building of a car repair facility, a petrol station and a service station were destroyed, 10 cars and 2 forklifts damaged. The roof and a wall of a house were damaged in Buchansky region, a car damaged in Fastiv region.

KCMA reported that a man was killed in the morning russian attack in Kyiv, he was near the epicentre of the explosion in Darnytskyi district. Three people were also wounded, two of them hospitalised.
According to Kyiv City Military Administration, as a result of an enemy attack with ballistic missiles, three districts of the capital were damaged.
A non-residential building was on fire in Darnytskyi district. Debris fell and a building was destroyed with a fire in another location in the district. Several cars were damaged and destroyed.
In Obolonskyi district, the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of a business centre were partially destroyed, and a fire broke out in a furniture shop over a large area.
In Solomenskiy district, a fire sparked in an open area as a result of falling debris, the facade of a warehouse building went ablaze.

As a result of enemy shelling the new newsroom of the FreeDOM TV channel was destroyed in the building of the business centre, where the company was preparing a new studio after the shelling on 12 February. The channel is currently broadcasting from a backup studio. The premises that housed the international editorial office, the editorial office of the TV channel ‘Dim’, as well as broadcasting, equipment and office premises after the February attack, were also damaged.

Kyiv City State Administration informed that flags were lowered and entertainment events were banned in Kyiv. The decision was made to mourn the victims of the russian attack on Kryvyi Rih.

A family medicine outpatient clinic was opened in Ivankiv community in Vyshhorod region with the support of the International Organisation for Migration and funding from the Government of Japan.
In Kyiv, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War hosted the premiere of the documentary ‘Tommy Gun: On the Road to Kupiansk’. The author of the film is a foreign volunteer Mark ‘Gino’ Giannetti, who joined the International Legion of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine in 2022 and took part in three military operations. In the battles near Kupiansk, Gino was seriously wounded and his life was saved by Thomas Harris (call sign ‘Tommy Gun’). In honour of his saviour, Gino created this film when he returned to Ukraine after rehabilitation.
Zhytomyr oblast
Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration informed that sappers of the State Emergency Service are demining the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv oblast. They are clearing contaminated areas of explosive devices. The enemy left behind explosives in forests, fields and private estates, creating a deadly danger to civilians.
Marina Plechko, Head of Potiyivka village council, announced that the Veteran Support programme was launched in the community on 17 March to help veterans and their families with social and legal issues. According to her, the community is home to 24 families of fallen soldiers, as well as veterans of the ATO, JFO and the full-scale russian invasion.
Sumy oblast
The Regional Military Administration reported that during the night, as a result of a russian attack, eight Shahed drones struck civilian infrastructure in Sumy. The attack damaged an administrative building, storage facilities, equipment, and 18 vehicles at one of the enterprises. Emergency rescue services are working to address the aftermath.

The Regional Military Administration informed that in Velyka Pysarivka community, the enemy carried out three strikes using FPV-drones and 27 artillery strikes. As a result of the attack, a private household was damaged.
During the night and morning, russian forces carried out 27 shellings of border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast. A total of 74 explosions were recorded. Sumy, Yunakivka, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhyne, and Yampil communities came under fire.
During the night of 6 April, Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners shot down nine enemy Shahed drones over the skies of Sumy oblast.
Throughout 5 April, russian forces carried out 88 shellings in Sumy oblast, with a total of 146 strikes recorded. The enemy used mortars (47 explosions), MLRS (23 explosions), artillery (2 explosions), UAV attacks (2 explosions), FPV-drones (28 explosions), launched guided aerial bombs (35 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (10 explosions). Eleven communities came under enemy fire: Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Slobidka, Shalyhyne, Svesa, Khutir-Mykhailivskyi, Seredyna-Buda, and Znob-Novhorodske.
As a result of an enemy strike on Krasnopillia community on 5 April, 15 private houses were damaged. In Seredyna-Buda community, shelling caused damage to three two-story apartment buildings, one private household, two cars, and an outbuilding.
According to the Regional Military Administration, as of now, up to 50,000 residents have evacuated from the 198 settlements included in the evacuation plan.
According to Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the Regional Military Administration after his meeting with Jean-Christophe Boni, founder of the Team4UA Charity Foundation, Sumy region is strengthening humanitarian cooperation with charitable organizations from France. The cooperation aims to assist with the evacuation of people and provide temporary housing for internally displaced persons.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that on 5 April, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy used mortars (4 explosions), FPV-drones (14 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (37 explosions). A total of 13 settlements came under enemy fire.
The North Operational Command informed that on 5 April, russian forces attacked Zarichchia village in Semenivka community. As a result of the shelling, a private residential house was damaged.
Viktoria Kalmykova, Head of the NGO ‘Veterans Community of Ukraine Sercevir’ said that on 5 and 6 April, the All-Ukrainian adaptive sports competition took place in Chernihiv. More than 200 veterans and active servicemen who were wounded, had limb amputations, or use wheelchairs participated from various regions of Ukraine. They competed in bench press, rowing, air bike, kettlebells, archery, table tennis, sitting volleyball, and small-caliber rifle shooting.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that from evening until morning, the enemy was shelling Nikopol region with artillery and kamikaze drones. They were targeting the district centre and the Marhanets community. In the evening, 7 apartment buildings, a shop, infrastructure, a car and a gas pipeline were damaged in Nikopol due to shelling.
Nikopol and Synelnykove regions were under enemy attack. The occupiers fired at Nikopol region with artillery and kamikaze drones. They targeted the region centre and Pokrovsk community. 4 private houses, a cafe, 2 gas pipelines and a power line were damaged. The enemy struck Nova Pavlivka community of Synelnykove region with an unmanned aerial vehicle.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Kirovohrad oblast, in one of the villages of Blahovishchensk community, the shards of an enemy missile damaged the windows and roof of a private house, as well as electric wires.
Poltava oblast
A car rally was held in Poltava as part of an action to support Ukrainian soldiers held in russian captivity or reported missing.
Cherkasy oblast
Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that at night, defenders destroyed russian missiles and 18 UAVs in Cherkasy oblast. According to preliminary information, drone fragments damaged the windows of a residential building and several outbuildings in Zolotonosha region. In addition, a power line was damaged.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, the occupiers launched 449 strikes on nine settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted two airstrikes on Stepove and Huliaipole. 249 UAVs of various modifications attacked Stepove, Kamianske, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Four MLRS attacks targeted Stepove, Huliaipole, and Shcherbaky. Additionally, there were 194 artillery strikes at Stepove, Kamianske, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. There was one reported case of damage to a private house.
According to the General Staff, as of 16:00 on 6 April, Ukrainian units repelled two attacks near Pryvilne towards Huliaipole. Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped three enemy attacks on Shcherbaky and Kamianske towards Orikhiv.
The occupation authorities are forcing high school students in the temporarily occupied Melitopol to attend excursions to the propaganda museum “russia – My History.” According to the resistance movement “Yellow Ribbon,” these excursions are mandatory, as students will not receive final grades in history and literature without attending them.
Mykolaiv oblast
On the night of 5 April, around 22:00, the enemy attacked Mykolaiv with Shahed 131/136 UAVs. As a result of the attack, two fires broke out in private residences. Additionally, 13 private houses and a car were damaged, and four people were injured.

Yesterday, the enemy also carried out four FPV drone attacks on Kutsurub community and one attack on Ochakiv community’s water area. No casualties were reported.
On 6 April, relatives, friends, and concerned residents gathered in Mykolaiv for a weekly demonstration to remind the public about prisoners of war and missing soldiers. They also observed a moment of silence for those killed in Kryvyi Rih due to a russian missile strike. More than 200 people participated in the event.
Odesa oblast
As of 6:00 am on 6 April, one enemy ship was in the Black Sea. There were 3 enemy vessels in the Mediterranean Sea, which are carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 26 missiles.
Over the past day, 6 vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interests, while 3 more ships entered the Sea of Azov.
Kherson oblast
Around 6:30, the russian army attacked a resident of Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with a drone. The explosion killed the 59-year-old man on the spot.
Around 13:00, the occupiers shelled Bilozerka with artillery. As a result of the attack, a 75-year-old man sustained explosive and traumatic brain injuries, a concussion, and shrapnel wounds. His condition is critical.
A resident of Antonivka, who had been hit by a russian drone the previous day, was hospitalised. The 69-year-old man was diagnosed with an explosive injury and a concussion.
Yesterday, the enemy attacked Antonivka, Beryslav, Vesele, Veletenske, Havrylivka, Zelenivka, Kizomys, Kozatske, Kostyrka, Lvove, Mykilske, Mykhailivka, Molodizhne, Nadezhdivka, Novooleksandrivka, Oleksandrivka, Olhivka, Osokorivka, Poniativka, Pravdyne, Sadove, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Tomyna Balka, Urozhaine, Khreshchenivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Shliakhove, and the city of Kherson. The shelling damaged an apartment building, six private houses, a cell tower, and private cars. Seven people were injured due to russian aggression.
Ukrainian defenders repelled two unsuccessful enemy attempts to approach their positions on the Prydniprovskyi front. Over the past 24 hours, enemy losses amounted to 80 personnel, 10 artillery systems, 19 vehicles and armored vehicles, 4 motorcycles, 4 boats, 1 ATV, 1 buggy, 13 Starlink antennas, 2 UAV control antennas, 2 communication antennas, 3 generators, 1 field ammunition depot, 2 UAV storage sites, and 1 fuel storage site. Additionally, 48 shelters/bunkers and 3 observation posts were destroyed.
Humanitarian aid was delivered to Sofiivka as part of a local support program. Residents received food packages, drinking water, and seed packets for planting in home gardens.

In Lutsk, as part of the veteran business fair I Could Do It – You Can Too!, an on-site roundtable of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans’ Rights was held. They discussed education as a prerequisite for the rehabilitation of veterans and their family members.
Zakarpattia oblast
The Perinatal Center of Uzhhorod City Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital received the 1st batch of equipment today as part of the Modernization of Medical Equipment of the Uzhhorod Maternity Hospital grant project. The initiative is implemented by the Platform of Social Interaction public organization and the SOS Children’s Villages International CF Ukraine in cooperation with Uzhhorod City Council and with the support of the Coordination Council for Internally Displaced Persons in the city of Uzhhorod.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Hospitals in the Carpathian region received 33 units of infusion solution heaters. In total, the 1st 600 infusion solution heaters out of 2,000 purchased last year by order of the Ministry of Health were transferred to medical institutions. The equipment was purchased with the assistance of donors within the United24 initiative.
Lviv oblast
29 Defenders from Lviv oblast were awarded high state awards (posthumously). Servicemen received the III degree Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky and the II and III degrees Order of Courage.
Belz community sent food, clothing, medicine, personal hygiene products, fuel and other necessary items to the military; employees of Belz City Council raised over UAH 37,000 for the needs of the 53rd Shkval Brigade; parishioners of the UGCC in Belz, the UGCC in Zhuzheliany, entrepreneurs, farmers, and caring residents also contributed to the needs of the collection.
Representatives of Sheptytsk Regional Air Defense Force visited defenders at the front and sent a generator, FPV drones, camouflage nets according to the season, food, clothing, shoes and personal hygiene items, as well as an operating lamp for the medical needs of the front.
Rivne oblast
The air raid sirens sounded 847 times in Rivne oblast since the start of the full-scale invasion. There were 10 alarms in the month (15 in February); the longest was on 22 March (1 hour 34 min), the shortest were on 8 and 13 March (17 min); on 12 March the alarm was sounded twice; the maximum number of days without sirens was 9 (from 22 March to 1 April).
Ternopil oblast
In Ternopil, a memorial plaque in honor of Hero of Ukraine Serhii Konoval was unveiled on the facade of the Veteran’s House in Ternopil. On 6 April, 2024, Serhii was killed fighting for Ukraine in Donetsk oblast.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
In the 1st quarter of 2025, Khmelnytskyi community donated to the military 1,180 FPV drones of various modifications, 144 UAVs (aircraft, hexacopters, Mavic 3T and 3E), 42 electronic warfare and electronic warfare equipment, 1,000 batteries, 7 vehicles, 38 banderapowers and other equipment worth UAH 3.5m. The total amount is UAH 65m.
In total, Khmelnytskyi community allocated over UAH 490m for all programs to strengthen defense capabilities and support the military in the 1st quarter of 2025.
In March, a Mission Support Mission was conducted at the Croix NPP in France, led by Victor Royk, seconded from the Paris Centre of the World Association of Nuclear Operators.
