Today, communities in border areas with the Russian Federation have come under fire from enemy artillery and mortars, including the settlements of Klyusy, Huta-Studenetska, Krasnyi Khutir, and Bohdanove in the Chernihiv region; Kucheriivka, Simeikyne, Mar’yine, Stepok, Turya, Uhroidy, Riasne, and Slavgorod in the Sumy region.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is attempting to advance in the area of Vovchansk; fighting is currently ongoing.
The Defense Forces successfully repelled two enemy attempts to advance in the Kupiansk direction, near the settlements of Zakhidne and Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 12 attacks near the settlements of Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, Ridkodub, Karpivka, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, and toward Hryhorivka. Fighting is currently ongoing in three locations.
In the Siversk direction, three combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day near Verkhniokamianske. The Defense Forces successfully repelled two enemy attempts to advance, and one battle is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, two combat engagements have taken place today near Chasiv Yar and Kurdiumivka. The Defense Forces successfully repelled one assault by the invaders, and another is still in progress.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked in the areas of Diliivka, Toretsk, Nelipivka, and Shcherbynivka, and toward the settlements of Oleksandro-Kalynove, Yablunivka, and Rusyn Yar, making 13 attempts to improve its position. Two combat engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have made 42 attempts to dislodge our defenders from their positions near the settlements of Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novosergiivka, Novooleksandrivka, Orikhove, Novoukrainka, Andriivka, and toward Pokrovsk and Oleksiivka. The Defense Forces are holding the line and have already repelled 38 enemy attacks.
Today, in the Novopavlivka direction, enemy units attacked our positions 13 times near the settlements of Bahatyr, Kostiantynopil, Rivnopil, Novosilka, Zelene Pole, and toward Oleksiivka. One attack is still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy made five unsuccessful attempts to break through our defenders’ lines near Malynivka. Enemy aircraft carried out airstrikes in the areas of Malynivka, Poltavka, Olhivske, and Huliaipole.
In the Orikhiv direction, the invaders carried out four unsuccessful attacks near Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, and toward Novoandriivka. Novoandriivka and Kamianske also came under attack from unguided aerial rockets.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy made one unsuccessful attempt to approach the fortifications of our defenders. The enemy also carried out an airstrike in the area of the city of Kherson.
In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attacks. Additionally, the enemy carried out four airstrikes, dropping six guided bombs, and launched 86 artillery strikes on our military positions and settlements, including one from a multiple launch rocket system.
As a result of a drone strike on Pryluky in the Chernihiv region, at least five people were killed, according to Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv region. Among the dead is one child; eight people sustained varying degrees of injuries.
On the night of May 5, Russia launched 103 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and various types of decoy drones. According to the Air Force, 74 drones were successfully destroyed, while the location of 46 drones remains unconfirmed.

Kharkiv oblast

Over the past day, 169 combat engagements were recorded.
In the Kharkiv direction, there were four clashes in the areas of Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Kamianka.
In the Kupiansk direction, two enemy attacks were recorded during the day. The Defense Forces repelled assault actions by the enemy in the area of Zahryzove.
Shelling
A 53-year-old woman was injured as a result of a Russian drone strike on a bus stop in Novoosinove today around 10:40 AM, according to the press service of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Russia used an X-35 missile and seven “Geran-2” UAVs to strike the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv last night, the regional prosecutor’s office reported.
Last night, Russian drones attacked the Pisochyn community — impacts were recorded in a residential area, said Pisochyn village head Oleh Chernobai. At least five houses were damaged.
A Russian UAV hit the second floor of a multi-story building in Kharkiv. A Shahed drone struck the outer wall of the building where a storage room was located. The apartment owner was in the bedroom at the time and was unharmed.

Over the past day, the city of Kharkiv and three other settlements in Kharkiv region came under enemy attack.
In Kharkiv, 19 people were injured, including a 7-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl, and two 13-year-old girls. In Izium, a 38-year-old man was injured due to the explosion of an unidentified object.
The enemy used seven UAVs to attack the Kyivskyi and Slobidskyi districts of Kharkiv.

Donetsk oblast
Frontline
Russian forces continue to increase pressure on the Pokrovsk axis. Over the past day, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 61 enemy attacks near Malynivka, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Novosergiivka, Kotliarivka, Orikhove, and Andriivka, according to the morning update from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The previous day, there were 55 attacks.
Yesterday, Russian troops reduced the number of attacks in the Novopavlivka, Siversk, and Toretsk directions compared to the day before, while more assaults were recorded on the Lyman and Kramatorsk sections of the front.
The Russian army is trying to bypass Toretsk from the flanks in order to advance toward Kostiantynivka, said Vasyl Bilyi, commander of the motorized infantry battalion of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade.
Shelling
- One person was injured in Kostiantynivka due to a Russian airstrike. At around 10:30 AM, Russian forces dropped three FAB-250 bombs on the city, reported local military administration head Horbunov.
- A rescuer was wounded in Sloviansk during a second shelling of the city while firefighters were extinguishing a blaze, according to the Donetsk Region State Emergency Service. The man was hospitalized with a shrapnel wound to the leg and contusions. A fire truck was also damaged in the shelling.
- Around 3:00 AM, Russian forces shelled Kostiantynivka with tube artillery, damaging three private homes, Horbunov reported.
- After midnight, Russian troops shelled Sloviansk, Ocheretyne, and Krynytsi, according to Donetsk Region Police.
- As a result of Russian aggression, one person was killed and five wounded in Donetsk region in the past 24 hours. Police recorded 2,902 attacks on the front line and residential areas.
The enemy attacked 10 settlements:
- Cities: Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Rodynske
- Villages: Bilokuzmynivka, Vesela Hora, Dyliivka, Ivanopillia, Markove, Novomykolaivka, Toretske
A total of 79 civilian objects were damaged, including 13 residential buildings.
In Rodynske, Russians struck with a KAB-250 aerial bomb, drone, and artillery, killing one civilian and wounding three more. Damaged: 4 apartment buildings, a hospital, an outbuilding, and 7 garages.
In Kramatorsk, the occupiers attacked with a Tornado-S MLRS, damaging a gas station and 30 civilian vehicles in a parking lot.
11 drones were directed at Druzhkivka, damaging an agricultural facility and 13 civilian vehicles.
In Toretske (Druzhkivka community), a private house, an outbuilding, and greenhouses were damaged by three drone attacks. In Markove (Kostiantynivka community), a KAB-250 bomb damaged 4 private homes. In Bilokuzmynivka, 4 houses were damaged.
Other
Four people, aged 51 to 93, were evacuated from the frontline village of Shandryholove in Donetsk region. The front line has moved to within 10 kilometers of the settlement, according to regional police.
Luhansk oblast
The occupiers have significantly increased their artillery support, according to the Regional Military Administration. Yesterday alone, they conducted 26 artillery strikes. They also launched 66 unmanned aerial vehicles towards Ukrainian defenders. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled an enemy attempt to advance near Bilohorivka. The Russians also tried to improve their tactical positions near Hrekivka.
In a military training center, the Russians plan to train young people in military-political specializations. The facility will operate in the building that, until 2014, housed the relocated Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University in Luhansk. The institution will function under the control of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Starting in 2025, approximately 300 individuals will be trained there annually. However, by 2027, the number is expected to increase more than threefold — up to 1,000 trainees per year.
Last year, the invaders began actively demolishing the multi-story buildings they had damaged or destroyed in the cities of the so-called “LNR” occupied in 2022. The process was later paused — as it turned out, to seek funding. The occupiers realized that even this could become a source of profit. Therefore, a separate funding source will be sought for each building demolition. This decision was made by the so-called “Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the LNR.”

Kyiv oblast
According to Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Oblast State Administration, more than 100 guests from European Union countries visited the communities in Kyiv oblast that were most affected by the war. The delegations took a trip to Irpin, Bucha, and Borodianka. Borodianka was de-occupied in April 2022, and had the most damage in Kyiv oblast. A total of 825 buildings were destroyed or damaged. To date, 592 buildings have been restored: 570 private houses, 14 apartment buildings, 5 educational institutions, and 4 public buildings. The restoration of 53 buildings is ongoing, 42 of which are residential.
According to Oleksandr Pashchynsky, a member of the Irpin City Council, today, 43-year-old defender Mykola Lukyanenko was given his final farewell in Irpin. Mykola Lukyanenko was a volunteer who joined the ranks of the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On 9 May, he was seriously wounded, and on 29 May, his heart stopped.
36-year-old hero from Irpin Denys Fesyuk was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree. Denys Fesyuk joined the army in October 2023 and was the commander of a mechanised platoon in the 110th Mechanised Brigade. He died on 5 May in Donetsk oblast as a result of mortar shelling.
According to Bucha Mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk, Vorzel 47-year-old Vitaliy Shostik was mourned as a fallen defender. Anatoliy Fedoruk joined the army in June 2023. He served near Avdiivka and was considered missing in action after the assault on 10 November 2023.
27-year-old patrol police officer Daryna Shygida was killed in Pryluky during a night attack by a russian kamikaze drone. Her son and mother were also killed. At the time of the attack, Daryna’s father, a firefighter, was rescuing others after the previous strike. A total of five people were killed in Pryluky. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko noted that the enemy deliberately targeted residential buildings, .
The ‘Bucha Witches,’ a volunteer group from Bucha territorial community, received a car from foreign donors. The car was donated by the ‘Hansen Mission in Ukraine’ charitable foundation.
The Irpin community received gratitude from the Third Assault Brigade for allocating 5 million hryvnias from the community budget. The allocated funds were used to purchase Mavic drones. A representative of the brigade noted that many Irpin residents serve in the Third Assault Brigade.
According to Oleksandr Pashchynsky, a member of the Irpin City Council, Irpin allocated another 12.6 million hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A street photo exhibition entitled ‘Deafening Silence’ is currently on display in Kyiv, telling the stories of 12 Ukrainian prisoners of war and their families. The exhibition is based on extensive research into violations of their rights by the Russian Federation. The exhibition is organised by Amnesty International Ukraine in collaboration with the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, which documents the history of Ukrainian prisoners of war and their families.
According to the Telegraph newspaper, a charity ball called ‘Brave Hearts’ was held in Kyiv on 31 May. Ten soldiers took to the dance floor after suffering serious injuries and undergoing prosthetic surgery. The dance evening raised 5.8 million ukrainian hryvnias. The funds will be used for the rehabilitation and prosthetic surgery of wounded defenders.
The Epicentre shopping store chain presented a new stage of the cultural and social project ‘Code of Memory’ in the capital. As part of the project, 18 images of stained-glass windows from Mariupol were printed on postal machines. The works of art were lost during the bombing of the city but survived in the photographs of Ivan Stanislavsky.
On 5 June, an exhibition of a series of eight postcards entitled ‘I am from a family of journalists’ opened at the press centre of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. The images were created by the children and grandchildren of Ukrainian media workers, including those who suffered from russian repressions. In particular, the exhibition featured postcards by Stefania, the daughter of Vladislav Yesipenko, a freelance journalist for Krym.Realii who was convicted by the Russian Federation, and Safie, the daughter of Marlen Asanov, an imprisoned Crimean citizen journalist.
On 3 June, representatives of Ukrainian Christian denominations met with the director of the US National Policy Council, former Congressman Bob McEwen and his wife Elizabeth, in Irpin, according to the Institute for Religious Freedom. Ukrainian religious leaders spoke about the consequences of russian aggression, such as the destruction of churches, persecution of believers in temporarily occupied territories, forced closure of religious communities, seizure of administrative buildings, and the abduction and imprisonment of priests. They also addressed Russia’s use of religion as a tool of military propaganda. Bob McEwen emphasised the support for Ukraine in American society and politics, and also highlighted the existing challenges.
Zhytomyr oblast
The head of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, and his deputy for law enforcement relations, Oleksandr Fedko, met with representatives of the 429th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems ‘ACHILLES’. The soldiers volunteered for the the Territorial Defence at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and have destroyed or damaged about 20,000 legitimate military targets of the enemy over the past two years.
Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Asman announced the death of Andriy Kurovsky on the front lines. Andriy Kurovsky had been a teacher at the Or Avner Jewish Lyceum in Zhytomyr for over 20 years. He was killed on 28 May in the Pokrovsk direction and buried on 4 June in Zhytomyr.
‘Zhytomyr Online’ with reference to the National Police of Ukraineinformed that in Zhytomyr oblast, explosives experts destroyed the remains of missiles and drones left after the shelling.
According to the online newspaper Subota, Zhytomyr paid its last tribute to 20-year-old Stepan Tsymbaliuk. The soldier joined the army together with his father on the first days of the full-scale war. He died on 8 June 2022, but it took three years to bring him back and bury him.
Berdychiv bid farewell to 25-year-old Tetyana Lyubych, a heroine from the 26th Brigade. Tetyana Lyubych joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2021 as a food service clerk. At the end of May 2025, she and Svitlana Stakhovska, a resident of Berdychiv, went to Donetsk Oblast, where both were killed by a russian Guided Aerial Bomb-250 air-launched missile.
The press service of Zhytomyr City Council reported that 27-year-old Maksym Rakovych was given a final farewell at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Zhytomyr. Maksym Rakovych joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the start of the full-scale war. He was killed by the russians on 25 May 2025.
Sumy oblast
Chernihiv oblast
Regional Governor Viacheslav Chaus reported that russian forces struck Chernihiv by six ‘Geran’ attack UAVs. As a result of the attack, five people were killed. The bodies of a 46-year-old woman from Pryluky, her daughter born in 1998, and her grandson born in 2024 were found under the rubble. As of 12:30pm, up to nine people were reported injured, including a five-year-old child. Two private houses were destroyed, while 15 apartment buildings, 15 private houses, two schools, and one kindergarten were damaged.
One of the enemy drones in Pryluky struck the house of the local fire department chief. His family was killed: his wife, his daughter — a patrol police office r— and her one-year-old son. The firefighter himself was on duty that night, working with the rescue team to eliminate the consequences of enemy strikes.

Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that throughout 4 June, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (11 explosions), launched FPV-drone strikes (12 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (12 explosions). A total of 10 settlements came under enemy fire.
Chernihiv City Council reported that as a result of the russian ‘Shahed’ drone attack on Chernihiv during the night of 3 June, 29 residential buildings were damaged. This includes four private houses and 25 apartment buildings, where 200 windows were shattered, and roofs and facades were destroyed. Emergency restoration work has already been carried out.
In Chernihiv on 3 June, two russian ‘Shahed’ drones struck a single courtyard. As a result, the homeowner was injured, and the private house was destroyed. Due to the strike, the dog Bonia, who was in the yard with his owner, was killed. The injured man is in the hospital, and his condition remains critical.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
According to the head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, Mykola Lukashuk, last night, the occupiers struck Pokrovske community in Synelnykove region with a guided aerial bomb (KAB). Two private houses were damaged. Late in the evening and the morning, russians also shelled Marhanets community in Nikopol region, using artillery and drones. The morning attacks caused a fire, a clinic and a fire truck were damaged. According to updated information, a woman injured yesterday in a drone strike on a store in Nikopol died.
The occupiers attacked Nikopol region throughout the day — they carried out more than two dozen drone strikes and also shelled the region with artillery. They targeted the regional center, Marhanets, Myrщму, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrovske communities.
A 71-year-old man was injured in Nikopol in a drone attack. He was hospitalized in critical condition. Fires broke out, a multi-story building, three private homes, a utility structure, and infrastructure were damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
Vinnytsia City Council reported that they delivered 135 drones to two military units fighting on Pokrovsk and Lyman fronts.
Kirovohrad oblast
48-year-old Valerii Vlasiuk from the village of Cherniakhivka in Kropyvnytskyi region returned to Ukraine after three years in russian captivity. He has not yet seen his family and is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Poltava oblast
Children were affected by the war in Poltava oblast. It is known that three minors were killed and at least ten were injured.

A 67-year-old man was killed as a result of the russian attack near Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov. reported that the man was riding a bicycle when the russians dropped a drone.
The russian army carried out 428 strikes on 14 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast during the day of 4 June. According to regional head Ivan Fedorov, these included 20 airstrikes on Ternuvate, Kamianske, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Olhivske, Novodarivka, Temyrivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Preobrazhenka.
Mykolaiv oblast
Mykolaiv regional military administration. reported that the russians attacked the region yesterday with drones. A man was injured and a minibus was damaged due to the russian aggression.
Odesa oblast
A lyceum with a preschool department, a children’s and youth creativity center, and a medical outpatient clinic were destroyed in the village of Vyshneve, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi region as a result of a nighttime russian attack. According to Odesa Regional Military Administration, there were no injuries or fatalities. russia used over 25 UAVs for the attack. A pre-trial investigation has been launched on charges of war crimes.

Kherson oblast
It is reported that russian forces dropped explosives from a UAV on a 44-year-old man riding a moped in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. According to the Regional Military Administration, he was hospitalized with a blast injury, concussion, and traumatic brain injury.
Today, russian troops attacked a resident of Beryslav with a drone. The RMA reported that the 46-year-old man suffered a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his back and thigh
According to the Military Administration, russian forces dropped explosives from a drone on a preschool in the Komyshany.
In the morning, russian forces dropped four aerial bombs on Kherson. Kherson Regional Administration building was damaged. The 44-year-old First Deputy Head of the Regional Council, Yurii Sobolevskyi, sustained a concussion, traumatic brain injury, and other blast-related injuries. At 3 pm, russian troops again struck Kherson Regional Administration building with guided aerial bombs. According to the RMA, the building was nearly destroyed. A 37-year-old man was injured in the second airstrike and suffered a blast injury.

Three educational institutions and a medical facility were damaged in Kherson due to russian airstrikes. Around 200 windows were shattered in these buildings. The Military Administration said that no staff members were injured

At about 6:00 am, russian forces attacked Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with a drone. According to Kherson RMA, a 48-year-old man was injured with a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to his legs.
Kherson RMA reported that russian forces launched an airstrike on downtown Kherson. A 74-year-old man was injured; a 68-year-old man suffered a blast injury, and another man was also wounded.
In the morning, two men aged 38 and 46 were injured in Kherson due to russian drone attacks. According to the RMA, they sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.
Police and paramedics evacuated an 82-year-old woman wounded in a russian drone attack from Veletenske. The body of a 69-year-old man killed in the strike was also evacuated. The police reported that the drone attacked people on the street—the man died at the scene, and the elderly woman was taken to the hospital with a blast injury and leg contusion.
At around 11:00 pm yesterday, russian forces attacked a house in Mylove community with a drone. The house was destroyed. According to Kherson RMA, no casualties were reported.
Over the past day, two people were killed and 10 were injured in Kherson oblast due to russian shelling. The head of the RMA, Oleksandr Prokudin reported that russian forces attacked 22 settlements in the region. Two apartment buildings, 20 private homes, a garage, and several vehicles were damaged.

Over 100 volunteer rescuers gathered in Rivne oblast to participate in international exercises. 10 fire brigades from Ukraine and Poland demonstrated their skills for 2 days – extinguishing fires, performing water rescues, providing first aid, and eliminating the consequences of road accidents. Experts from the United Kingdom and Germany also joined the exercises.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil community sent a minibus for the Military Law Enforcement Service thanks to budget funds.
Since the beginning of the war, the defenders and their families have received various social support from Ternopil. The defenders received UAH 10,000 each to purchase equipment and technical means for a total amount of over UAH 52m.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Another 50 8-inch FPV drones with a reinforced battery worth UAH 700,000 were sent to the military for the warriors.

Great Britain announced the provision of £350m for the supply of drones, which will allow the transfer of 100,000 drones to Ukraine in 2025.
Germany: a €5bn aid package. It includes: financing for long-range weapons to be produced in Ukraine. Air defense systems, weapons, ammunition.
Netherlands: a €400m aid package. It includes: a mine-clearing ship, boats and naval drones.
Belgium: annual aid to Ukraine of €1bn until 2029 and transfer of a mine-clearing ship.
Norway: $700m for drones, with a focus on supporting the Ukrainian defense industry, another $50m to the NSATU Trust Fund.
Canada: $45m for drones, electronic warfare equipment, IT solutions, as well as Coyote and Bison armored vehicles.
Sweden: €440m for programs to purchase artillery ammunition, drones and other weapons.
