The aggressor continues to pursue its plans to occupy Ukrainian territory and maintains pressure on the positions of our units. Ukraine’s Defense Forces are taking measures to disrupt enemy actions and inflict losses in manpower and equipment.
Since the beginning of the day, there have been 67 combat engagements.
Border settlements have come under fire from the territory of the Russian Federation, particularly Bobylivka, Pokrovka, and Turia in Sumy region.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy attempted to advance twice in the area of Vovchansk—fighting is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled an enemy attempt to advance near Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 15 attacks near the settlements of Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, Karpivka, Lypove, Ridkodub, and Torske. Clashes are currently ongoing in nine locations.
In the Siversk direction, two combat engagements occurred near Bilohorivka and Verkhniokamianske since the beginning of the day. The Defense Forces successfully stopped one enemy advance, while another battle continues.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked near Toretsk, Romanivka, and Rusyn Yar, making seven attempts to improve its tactical position. One combat engagement is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy launched 16 attempts since the beginning of the day to displace our defenders from positions near the settlements of Malynivka, Hrodivka, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Novosergiivka, Kotliarivka, and Orikhove. The Defense Forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught and have repelled 15 attacks. Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka suffered airstrikes with guided aerial bombs.
In the Novopavlivka direction, enemy forces attacked Ukrainian positions eight times near the settlements of Odradne, Vesele, Vilne Pole, Novosilka, and Novopil, and also carried out airstrikes on Novopil and Novodarivka. Two enemy attacks are still ongoing.
In the Hulyaipole direction, enemy aircraft carried out an airstrike on Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, Novoandriivka and Kamianske came under attack from unguided aerial rockets.
In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy launched an airstrike on Olhivka.
In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 enemy assaults. The enemy also carried out nine airstrikes, dropping 11 guided bombs and conducting 88 artillery shellings. Battles are ongoing in two locations.
A special award for children, “Future of Ukraine,” has been launched in Ukraine. It will be awarded annually to kind, worthy children who have demonstrated resilience in difficult life circumstances and during war-related hardships. On June 4, the award was presented for the first time. Children who endured occupation, deportation, and loss were honored—those who helped others, supported the military, and volunteered. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have adopted the Ukrainian-made strike drone “Vespa-15.” The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and approved the domestically produced unmanned aerial system “Vespa-15” for operation. The Vespa-15 drones (“wasp” in Italian) have a range of several dozen kilometers, carry significant payloads, are resistant to electronic warfare, and are capable of striking enemy personnel, armored vehicles, and fortifications both day and night.

Kharkiv oblast
Frontline
In the Kharkiv direction, the occupier attempted twice to advance in the area of Vovchansk. As of 16:00, fighting is ongoing, according to the General Staff.
Defense Forces successfully repelled one Russian attempt to advance in the Kupiansk direction near the village of Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, the occupier launched 15 attacks, including near the settlement of Novyi Myr.
During the past day, 178 combat engagements were recorded. In the Kharkiv direction, five clashes occurred in the areas of Vovchansk, Kamianka, and Vovchanski Khutory. In the Kupiansk direction, four enemy attacks were registered. The Defense Forces repelled enemy assault actions near Zahryzove, Pishchane, Nova Kruhlakivka, and toward Stepova Novoselivka.
The Russians are testing and refining drones designed to reach Kharkiv more effectively to terrorize local residents. Russia is using “Shahed,” “Molniya,” various modifications of FPV drones, and another unidentified drone type, which was used in an attack on the region on June 3, according to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov on June 4.
The accumulation of forces near the border is carried out continuously by the Russians, allowing them to later redistribute troops to different frontline sectors, said Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
Shelling
Russia is dropping 90% of all air bombs launched in the Kharkiv region on the Kupiansk area. These include bombs weighing up to 1.5 tons, and Russia continues to use double-tap strike tactics, said Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
Overnight, Russia launched two Kh-35 missiles and nine “Geran-2” type UAVs at Kharkiv, reported Spartak Borysenko, head of the regional prosecutor’s office.
A “Molniya” drone struck a gas station on the outskirts of Kharkiv, near the city exit toward the ring road. Fortunately, no fire broke out, said Mayor Ihor Terekhov. A gas station employee sustained a leg injury.
During the past day, the enemy targeted the city of Kharkiv and 11 other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and five injured in the attacks.
In Kharkiv, a 30-year-old man was injured. In the village of Chystovodivka (Kunie community), a 31-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were killed, and a 33-year-old man, a 38-year-old man, and a 71-year-old woman were injured. In the town of Zolochiv, a 28-year-old man was injured.
The enemy attacked the Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv with two missiles and nine UAVs.

- In Kharkiv district: 2 private houses.
Other
Over the three years of full-scale war, Russia has taken the lives of 96 children in the Kharkiv region—56 boys and 40 girls. Another 526 children have been injured.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline Situation
The Russian army has increased the number of assaults in the Novopavlivka sector. Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 32 attacks on Defense Forces positions near Fedorivka, Kostiantynopil, Rivnopil, Vilne Pole, and in the direction of Zelenе Pole, Novopil, Shevchenko, Komar, and Bahatyr, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A day earlier, there had been 10 fewer attacks — 22 in total.
The Pokrovsk direction remains the most active, with 55 engagements recorded in the past 24 hours. The Lyman and Toretsk sectors also saw over 10 assaults by Russian forces.
The Russian army has deployed units of the “Rubicon” group, specializing in strike drones, to the Novopavlivka direction. Over the past two weeks, Russian FPV drone attacks have increased in this area, said Bohdan Yanush, deputy commander of the 79th Air Assault Brigade.
Shelling
Two civilians were killed and seven wounded in Donetsk region over the past 24 hours, as police documented the aftermath of Russian attacks. Russian troops launched 3,526 strikes on the frontline and residential areas.
The enemy attacked 16 settlements: the cities of Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk; the urban-type settlements of Novoeconomichne, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka; and the villages of Andriivka, Dovha Balka, Myrna Dolyna, Novotroitske, Pleshchiivka, Serhiivka, and Toretske.
A total of 51 civilian objects were damaged, including 30 residential houses.
One civilian was killed near Kramatorsk due to a Russian drone strike.
Three UAVs were used by Russian forces to strike Serhiivka in Kramatorsk district — killing one person and injuring two more. Two non-residential buildings and two civilian cars were damaged.
Two people were wounded in Dovha Balka (Illinivka community), where a private home was damaged.
Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka was struck by Uragan MLRS — one civilian was injured, and three private homes were damaged.
Russian forces hit Kostiantynivka with 11 strikes, including 8 bomb attacks. One person was injured; 7 apartment buildings and 13 private houses were damaged.
In Pokrovsk, one person was wounded.
In Sloviansk, the enemy used five “Geran-2” drones, damaging three apartment buildings and an educational institution. Lyman was struck by Uragan MLRS — two private homes were damaged. In Druzhkivka, a Russian drone hit a garage.
In Dobropillia, a drone strike damaged an administrative building. In Toretske (Shakhove community), the enemy dropped a KAB-250 aerial bomb, damaging the local cultural center. In Novoeconomichne, a private home was damaged.
Other
At least 645 children have been affected in Donetsk region as a result of Russia’s full-scale invasion: 236 children have been killed and 409 injured.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented the “Future of Ukraine” awards to three children from Mariupol who survived the Russian bombings of the city in 2022. The recipients were Margarita Haryaha, Kira Obedynska, and Illia Matviienko, as reported by the presidential website and the Mariupol City Council.
Over 220 children remain in six settlements of Donetsk region where mandatory evacuation of families with children has been ordered, according to Yuliia Ryzhakova, head of the Children’s Services Department.
Luhansk oblast
he Front Line: Lyman and Siversk Sectors
Russian forces launched 22 assaults on Ukrainian positions in the Lyman and Siversk sectors. Nineteen of those attacks were concentrated in the Lyman direction. The enemy carried out three airstrikes and fired five times from artillery systems. A total of 84 drones were directed toward Ukrainian defensive positions.
Occupied Territories: Forced Verification and Service Disruptions
Mobile operators in the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic” are threatening to disconnect phone numbers of users who fail to complete identity verification. Under a law passed by the occupying authorities, residents of the seized territory of Luhansk region must confirm their personal data by July 1. As a result, long queues have formed at verification centers. The process requires a Russian passport. Operators claim they will notify users of disconnection via call or SMS. However, how this will be implemented in places like Lysychansk or Sievierodonetsk—where communication has been absent for years—remains unclear.
Rubizhne: Slow Reconstruction and Wage Theft
Reports of the slow pace and poor quality of reconstruction work in occupied Rubizhne have surfaced repeatedly. Delays in paying construction workers are common, with wage arrears reaching three months as of May. Moreover, even when payments are eventually made, contractors often withhold half the amount intended for hired workers. Many are quitting due to these conditions, leading to an even more acute labor shortage.

Kyiv oblast
A Memorial Sign dedicated to children killed by Russia has been unveiled in Novi Petrivtsi, according to Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
The location was chosen at the very site where a Russian missile destroyed a multi-storey residential building three years ago. During that tragedy, two-year-old Stepan Shpak lost his life.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 45 children have been killed in Kyiv Region, and 13 children in Kyiv City.

Explosive operations are being conducted in the Vyshhorod district, so the sounds of explosions may be heard. It could be loud, and residents are asked to remain calm.
In the Rogoziiv Starosta District in the Boryspil region, the Alley of Heroes was inaugurated, the Executive Committee of the Boryspil City Council reported.
The event was attended by the Secretary of the Boryspil City Council, Vladyslav Baichas, heads of departments and services, and deputy mayors.
As part of the visit, guests toured local educational, cultural, and medical institutions, as well as the operations of the local fire department.

Vitaliy Semenyuta, a serviceman from the Bila Tserkva district of Kyiv region, died while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk direction, the press service of the Bila Tserkva city territorial community reported. The soldier was killed on September 30, 2024, near the settlement of Vuhledar in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk region.
Tomorrow, a farewell ceremony will be held in Brovary for defender Vitaliy Illienko, the Mayor of Brovary, Ihor Sapozhko, announced. Vitaliy Illienko was a rifleman — assistant machine gunner of a military unit of the National Guard of Ukraine. He was killed on May 31, 2025, during a combat mission near the settlement of Sporne in Donetsk region. The farewell and funeral service will take place on June 5 at Freedom Square in Brovary.
The children’s and youth film festival “Children KinoFest” will take place in Kyiv and 11 other cities across Ukraine, according to the Kyiv City State Administration. Children with disabilities, those deprived of parental care, orphans, and internally displaced children are invited to attend the screenings. Anyone interested can attend the event free of charge with prior registration.
In Kyiv, children of servicemen can visit the city’s amusement parks free of charge. Since the beginning of the year, over 1,100 children of military personnel have visited entertainment venues for free, reported Marina Honda, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration. In total, more than 2,100 such visits have been made.
Hippotherapy sessions for servicemen undergoing treatment and rehabilitation were held in Slavutych. As part of the project “Psychological Practice Point,” soldiers spent a day with horses. These sessions help relieve stress and heal emotional trauma, the Social Protection and Support Sector for Victims and Their Families reported.
From July 4 to 6, the third “Protasiv Yar” festival will be held in Kyiv on the meadow of Protasiv Yar. The festival is dedicated to the memory of civic activist and scout of the 93rd brigade “Kholodnyi Yar,” Roman Ratushnyi.
A prayer service for children killed as a result of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine was held in Slavutych, the Service for Children and Families of Slavutych reported. The prayer honoring took place at the church dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God “Incessant Help.”
Zhytomyr oblast

Sumy oblast
The Regional Military Administration reported that during the full-scale war, russia has killed 22 children in Sumy oblast. Another 125 children have been injured. 4 June is the Day of Remembrance for children who died as a result of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
The Regional Military Administration informed that for almost an hour, the enemy attacked civilian infrastructure in Sumy community by strike UAVs. Explosions were heard in Kovpakivskyi region. As a result of the shelling, one person was injured. Rescuers came under repeated fire while dealing with the aftermath of the attack. According to the Regional Police, the attack damaged four cars, warehouses, administrative and utility buildings, vehicle service stations, shops, and power lines.

During the night, the enemy attacked Lebedyn community by 12 UAVs. The drones struck an enterprise in one of the community’s villages, causing a fire. Tanks were damaged, leading to a spill of molasses at a bioethanol production plant. Around 10 private houses were also damaged. Specialists are assessing the environmental impact, and the final scale of destruction is being clarified.
According to the Regional Military Administration, the number of fatalities from the russian military shelling of Sumy on 3 June has risen to five — an 86-year-old victim passed away in hospital.
The Regional Military Administration reported that following the russian strike on Sumy community on 3 June, six victims remain in critical condition, including three children. One child is being prepared for transport to ‘Ohmatdyt’ for further treatment. In total, 30 people sought medical assistance, and 16 are currently hospitalized.
Rescuers have completed work at the sites of enemy strikes in Sumy, operating simultaneously at seven different locations. In damaged homes, they temporarily restored shattered windows and the roof of a multi-storey building. Demining specialists inspected the areas and removed remnants of explosive devices.

Throughout the day, from the morning of 3 June to the morning of 4 June, russian forces carried out nearly 110 shellings across 27 settlements in 13 territorial communities. The most intense attacks were recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs (over 10 strikes), MLRS (nearly 40 strikes), and UAV-dropped explosive devices (nearly 40 strikes). Additionally, russian forces launched UAV and FPV-drone strikes on Sumy oblast.
Damaged and destroyed civilian infrastructure:
▪️ In Sumy community, non-residential buildings, 15 residential houses, 13 cars, a medical facility, and other infrastructure objects were damaged.
▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, two apartment buildings and two private houses were damaged.
▪️ In Lebedyn community, non-residential premises and around 10 private houses were damaged.
Over the past day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organizations, evacuated 113 people from border communities.
The Regional Military Administration informed that the most intense fighting is taking place in the areas of Yunakivka and Khotin communities, where the enemy is attempting to operate in small groups and establish positions. The civilian population from these areas has long been evacuated. The russian army continues to shell border villages, targeting residential houses, farms, and civilian infrastructure, even in rear communities. Over the past two weeks, russian forces have dropped nearly 200 guided aerial bombs on Sumy oblast.
Chernihiv oblast
Vadym Mysnyk, spokesperson for the operational-tactical group ‘Siversk’ said that the russian army is strengthening its positions along the border and forming assault groups for combat reconnaissance. Ukrainian forces regularly destroy their equipment, personnel, and electronic warfare assets. russian troops are shelling residential buildings, civilian enterprises, vehicles, and critical infrastructure, attempting to prevent people from evacuating safely.
The National Police reported that on 3 June, russian forces attacked a village in Novhorod-Siverskyi community by a drone. As a result, a 43-year-old man was injured and hospitalized.
In the intensive care unit of Chernihiv City Hospital No. 2, a 23-year-old man passed away overnight. He had sustained injuries during the russian ‘Shahed’ drone attack on Chernihiv on the night of 2 to 3 June.
Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that throughout 3 June, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk. The enemy carried out strikes using FPV-drones (13 explosions), ‘Molniya’ UAVs (3 explosions), and ‘Lancet’ UAVs (1 explosion), as well as dropping explosive devices from UAVs (14 explosions).
According to Chernihiv City Council, Chernihiv received five vehicles, medical equipment, machinery, and sweets as humanitarian aid from its Finnish partner city, Lappeenranta. The collection was personally initiated by Lappeenranta’s mayor, Tuomo Sallinen. The vehicles will be distributed among medical and municipal enterprises in Chernihiv according to their needs.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, 4 June, the occupiers carried out 488 strikes on 17 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy launched 10 airstrikes on Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Olhivske, Novodarivka, and Novomykolaivka. 308 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Malokaterynivka, Bilenke, Novoiakovlivka, Tavriiske, Lobkove, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Seven MLRS strikes hit Kamianske, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodarivka. There were 163 artillery strikes on Lobkove, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Twenty-three reports were received about damage to private houses, cars, and infrastructure facilities.
Drones attacked electrical substations in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast, used by the russians to connect the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) to the russian energy system. The head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andriushchenko, reported on the morning of 3 June that fires broke out at distribution substations in Molochansk and Melitopol.

Mykolaiv oblast
Yesterday, 3 June, at approximately 09:56, the enemy launched a missile strike on port infrastructure in Mykolaiv region. The enemy also carried out one FPV drone attack on Kutsurub community and twice attacked the waters near the city of Ochakiv with FPV drones. There were no casualties.
Today at night, 4 June, at 01:10, the enemy struck Berezanka community with a drone, the type of which is being identified. As a result of the attack, a cargo truck was damaged.
Odesa oblast
The enemy once again launched a massive attack on Odesa using strike drones. One person was injured. Additionally, nine people sought psychological support. As a result of the attack, residential buildings and a car service station were damaged.

During the night of 4 June, air defense forces in southern Ukraine destroyed 24 Shahed-type strike drones and drones of other types over Odesa oblast.
As of 6:00 am on 2 June, two enemy carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles were in the Black Sea, with a total salvo of up to 12 missiles. There were three enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including one Kalibr missile carrier with a total salvo of up to 8 missiles.
Over the past day, five vessels serving russian interests passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, and another two ships entered the Sea of Azov.
Kherson oblast
Today, the russian army once again attacked Kherson, resulting in deaths and injuries. A resident was killed by a russian drone strike in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. Two others were injured in an artillery shelling of the neihgbourhood.
Around 8:00 am, russian occupation forces attacked Kherson with drones. A 53-year-old woman was hit in Dniprovskyi district and suffered blast trauma and multiple shrapnel wounds.
At around 6:30 a.m. on 4 June, an elderly resident of Kherson was attacked by a drone; he was hospitalized with blast trauma and shrapnel injuries to his head and back.
Another man was injured in the morning drone attack, sustaining blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to his shoulder and leg.
A woman from Bilozerka sought medical help after being injured by a drone strike the previous day; she suffered blast trauma and a concussion.
A man injured in the shelling of Kherson on 24 May also sought treatment; the 73-year-old was diagnosed with blast trauma and a concussion.
Yesterday, 3 June, the russian forces attacked Antonivka, Beryslav, Bilozerka, Veletenske, Vesele, Havrylivka, Dudchany, Zolota Balka, Inhulets, Kachkarivka, Kizomys, Kyselivka, Komyshany, Mykilske, Monastyrske, Novoberyslav, Novooleksandrivka, Novoraisk, Novovorontsovka, Oleksandrivka, Olhivka, Osokorivka, Poniativka, Prydniprovske, Respublikanyets, Rozlyv, Romashkove, Sadove, Stanislav, Sofiivka, Tiahynka, Chervonyi Maiak, Chornobaivka, Shliakhove, and the city of Kherson. The attacks damaged three apartment buildings, ten private homes, gas pipelines, and an emergency medical base. Eight people were injured due to russian aggression.
According to the “South” Operational Command, the enemy is regrouping and conducting logistics, evacuation, and reconnaissance operations in preparation for further attempts to capture the island zone of the Dnipro. Over the past day, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to assault Ukrainian positions near the Antonivsky bridges. In Lutsk, rescuers, together with the community, organized an event to honor the memory of children who died as a result of russian aggression against Ukraine. The ceremony was held on the territory of the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The clergy held a memorial service for the dead, after which the participants of the event attached a bell to a tree. This symbolizes the children’s voices, cut off by the war, which no longer have the opportunity to be heard.
Zakarpattia oblast
A new state award – the Future of Ukraine medal – was awarded to Uzhhorod schoolgirl Kira Obedynska. The award was presented by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska. 15-year-old Kira is originally from Mariupol. In the 1st weeks of the full-scale invasion, the girl was injured by a mine explosion and was forcibly taken by the russians to temporarily occupy Donetsk. Her father was shot by terrorists. Her mother died when Kira was not even a month old. Thanks to the coordinated work of the President’s team, a number of Ukrainian and international organizations, the girl was returned to Ukraine in May 2022. She is currently studying at the Uzhhorod Image Lyceum. Kira Obedynska became one of the 1st 24 children to be awarded the Future of Ukraine medal. Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Kalush is the 1st city where the presentation of the book Shattered Borders by writer Roksolana Zharkova took place. It touches on the real stories of women who were forced to leave their homes as a result of the war. The book is about the power of a woman’s voice during war.
Lviv oblast
Yurii Radchenko from Boryslav was awarded the Order of the Fallen Warrior. The award was presented to the family of the deceased. The defender joined the ranks of the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade in September 2023. He was killed in May 2024, while performing a combat mission near the village of Novoukrainka, Donetsk oblast.
Rivne oblast
In Rivne oblast, the memory of children who were killed in the war was honored – bells were hung in the square near the RMA. Bells are a symbol of the voices of all boys and girls that we will never hear again. The campaign was launched in 2022 by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. It became another important sign that the enemy knows no mercy, but it is our responsibility to do everything possible to ensure that children grow up in peace and security.
Ternopil oblast
39 community soldiers will receive a one-time cash grant to provide them with equipment and technical means. 2,104 defenders have already received such assistance since the beginning of the year, and in 2024 – 3,198 servicemen.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
712 Khmelnytskyi residents will receive material assistance worth more than UAH 8.5m. The assistance will be provided to military personnel, family members of fallen Heroes, prisoners of war or missing persons, and community households affected by russian attacks.
Chernivtsi oblast
During January-May 2025, Bukovina taxpayers sent over UAH 684.9m in military tax to the state budget. The target was met by 107.5%. In addition, compared to the same period in 2024, revenues increased by almost UAH 514.4m.

Great Britain announced a tenfold increase in drone deliveries to Ukraine. The country is investing a record £350m this year to increase drone deliveries to Ukraine from a target of 10,000 in 2024 to 100,000 in 2025. The funds are part of the UK’s overall military assistance to Ukraine, which will amount to £4.5bn this year. The investment is doubling as the drones have proven their effectiveness.
