It has been the 1380th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm: 

 The invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders.

On 4 November, there were 131 combat clashes.

Border settlements, in particular Bobylivka, Hirky, Bila Bereza, Vovkivka, Starykove, Buniakyne, Kucherivka in Sumy oblast, were affected by artillery shelling from the territory of the russian federation.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the enemy carried out one air strike, dropped two guided aerial bombs, and carried out 98 attacks, including one from multiple launch rocket systems.

Towards Southern Sloboda, Ukrainian soldiers stopped three enemy attacks near Izbitske, Prylipka, and Synelnykove. Another combat clash is ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk and Kramatorsk, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations.

Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked seven times near the settlements of Hrekivka, Drobysheve, Zarichne and Oleksandrivka.

Towards Slaviansk, the Defense Forces repelled seven enemy attacks near Yampol, Dronivka, Serebrianka and Siversk. Two more combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian soldiers stopped 13 enemy offensive actions in the vicinity of Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultynye, Kostiantynivka, Mykolaipollia, Torske, Berestok and Sofiivka. Two combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders made 46 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from the occupied positions in the vicinity of Shakhove, Nove Shakhove, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Vilne, Novoekonomichne, Rodynske, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Svetle, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne. The defense forces are holding back the enemy’s onslaught and have already stopped 40 attacks. In this direction, search and strike operations by the Defense Forces in the vicinity of ​​the city of Pokrovsk are ongoing. The enemy is suffering losses.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy attacked 17 times in the vicinity of Zelenyi Hai, Yalta, Oleksandrivka, Sosnivka, Stepove, Verbove, Pryvilney, Vyshneve, Pavlivka, Krasnohirske and Rybne. Three combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Huliaipole, the Defense Forces repelled five russian attacks in the vicinity of Zatyshshia, Huliaipoleand Pryluky. Three more combat clashes are still ongoing.

Towards Orikhiv, there was one combat clash near Primorske. The settlements of Stepnohirsk, Hryhorivka and Veselianka were hit by enemy guided bombs.

Towards Kherson, the enemy made one futile attempt to break through the defenses of our defenders in the direction of the Antonivskyi bridge.

In other areas of the front, the situation has not changed significantly.


The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that since the evening of December 3, russia has been attacking the territory of Ukraine with 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 138 Shahed and Gerbera attack UAVs. 114 drones were shot down.

Kateryna Rashevska, an expert on international justice and legal analysis at the Regional Center for Human Rights, says that from the temporarily occupied territories, russia is illegally transferring Ukrainian children to so-called “re-education camps” not only in Russia, Belarus, but also in North Korea. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Towards Southern Sloboda, Ukrainian forces stopped all four russian assault attempts conducted throughout the day as of 22:00, – the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

A total of 170 clashes were recorded over the past 24 hours.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy carried out 17 attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Starytsia, Vovchansk, Synelnykove, Ambarne, Prylipka and towards Kolodiazne and Kutkivka.

Towards Kupiansk, two combat clashes took place yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled russian assault actions near Pishchane and Petropavlivka.

Around 22:00, at least seven explosions were heard in Kharkiv. A russian UAV strike was recorded in the Osnovianskyi district, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

Russian forces attacked Lemishchene of the Zolochiv community with an FPV drone, said the head of the local military administration, Viktor Kovalenko. A private house burned down, and utility buildings and power lines were damaged.

The city of Kharkiv and five settlements across Kharkiv oblast came under russian fire during the past day.

As a result of shelling in the village of Siryi Yar in the Velykoburlutska community, a 63-year-old woman was injured.

In Kharkiv, two people (identities pending) were killed by the detonation of an explosive device, while three others — men aged 67 and 74 and a 68-year-old woman — were injured.

The enemy struck the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv with a missile.

Russia used various types of weapons across Kharkiv oblast:

▪️ 6 “Geran-2” UAVs
▪️ 1 FPV drone
▪️ 6 UAVs (type being identified)

Damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded:
▪️ Bohodukhiv region: 6 private houses, power lines (Odnorobivka), and a car (Petrivka);
▪️ Kupiansk region: 2 private houses, electricity networks (Siryi Yar);
▪️ Chuhuiv region: 2 recreation facilities (Prymorske, Martove).

The transit evacuation center in Lozova received 67 people in the past day; 23 remain. Since opening, the point has registered 14,112 evacuees.

More than 194 hectares of land in Kharkiv oblast were cleared of explosive hazards over the past week, according to the Center for Mine Action Coordination. Specialists surveyed over 147 hectares of agricultural land, 9 km of power lines, 1 km of roads, 200 meters of gas pipelines, and cleared eight households. More than 103,000 consumers were reconnected to the power grid. In total, 1,434 explosive devices were neutralized during the week.

Donetsk oblast

Russian forces carried out 2,017 strikes over the past day on the frontline and residential areas.

Five settlements came under fire: the cities of Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Pokrovsk, and the settlement of Novodonetske.

Seventy-one civilian objects were damaged, including 47 residential buildings.

In Kostiantynivka, a Russian KAB-250 bomb hit a five-storey residential building, killing two civilians. One more person was injured by an FPV drone strike.

In Sloviansk, the enemy launched nine strikes, including seven KAB-250 bombs. Eight civilians were injured, among them a 13-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl. Damage was recorded to 12 apartment buildings, 35 private houses, four shops, a café, a post office, a driving school, an administrative building, a gas station, a kiosk, a pet shop, an outbuilding, critical infrastructure, and six civilian cars.

In Kramatorsk, three people were injured as a result of drone attacks. A non-residential building and critical infrastructure were damaged.

In Novodonetske, a Geran-2 UAV strike injured a 10-year-old boy.

Luhansk oblast

Russian forces attacked near Nadiia, Hrekivka and Novoyehorivka in Luhansk region over the past day. Ten assault attempts were recorded towards Lyman and ten towards Sloviansk, along with 19 artillery strikes and the use of 18 enemy UAVs.

Medical facilities in the so-called “LNR” received only 25 new specialists over the past year, which is insufficient to address the staffing crisis — in several hospitals, personnel shortages exceed 50%. In 2026, the occupation authorities again plan to attract medical workers solely through financial incentives

In several apartment buildings in Sievierodonetsk, occupation forces dismantled the heating system ahead of winter, despite the buildings being located near the city’s only functioning boiler facility. Residents were not relocated and are now forced to heat their homes with electric devices without any discounted tariffs.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Cyprus President Nicos Christodoulides arrived in the capital on an official visit. He met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv. The last time the President of Cyprus visited Ukraine was ten years ago. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Nicos Christodoulides walked along the Wall of Remembrance near St. Michael’s Cathedral and honoured the memory of the fallen Ukrainian defenders.

Mayor Vitalii Klychko announced that Kyiv City Council deputies plan to adopt amendments to the city’s target programme ‘Support for Kyiv defenders’. The draft decision provides for an increase in funding for the programme by UAH 800 million. According to him, part of the funds will be used to compensate female military personnel for the purchase of women’s bulletproof vests – more than 70,000 women currently serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and more than 5,000 of them perform combat missions on the front lines.

Further cooperation was discussed at a working meeting with representatives of the Japanese company Tagawa Sangyo Co. Tagawa is a partner of JICA, which is implementing a construction waste recycling project in the Borodianka community. Specialised equipment provided by the Japanese side is already operating in Kyiv oblast and contributing to the restoration of the affected areas.

The Faculty of Law at NaUKMA announced that the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy will hold its first scholarship competition named after Ukrainian activist and defender Roman Ratushny. It was established in 2022 after the soldier’s death to preserve his memory and recognise his civic courage. First-year master’s students majoring in law are eligible to apply for the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy scholarship. Applicants must participate in public initiatives or have plans for social activities.

Several city objects in Kyiv, whose names were associated with russia, have been renamed. This decision was made on 4 December at a plenary session of the city council. In particular, one of the streets in the Darnytskyi district of the city is named after Hero of Ukraine Pavlo Petrychenko, who died on the front line on 15 April 2024.

The National Museum of Ukrainian Literature presented the book ‘Every Tear Has Its Own Story’ about the lives of women during the russian-Ukrainian war. In the book, writer and volunteer Olga Feshchenko collected the stories of 15 women. These are stories about what they had to go through during the invasion, about their losses, and also about what helped them survive and hold on.

Zhytomyr oblast

On the eve of the holidays, JSC Zhytomyroblenergo is sending aid to the Ukrainian military: charging stations, tyres, two buggies for evacuating the wounded, and thermal underwear. The company’s employees also joined the charity initiative and collected food, hygiene products, warmers, socks, and other necessary items. This time, the aid will go to paratroopers in the Pokrovsk direction.

Sumy oblast

On the morning of 4 December, the General Staff reported that towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, there were four combat engagements. russian forces carried out two airstrikes, dropping three guided aerial bombs, and conducted 203 attacks, including one with a multiple-launch rocket system.

At around 4pm on 4 December, the russian army attacked Velyka Pysarivka community. A 40-year-old woman was injured in the strike. She is in moderate condition and is receiving necessary medical care.

Between the morning of 3 December and the morning of 4 December, russian forces carried out more than 10 attacks on six settlements in five territorial communities of the oblast. The enemy used guided aerial bombs, UAVs and FPV drones. Over the day, the air-raid alert in the oblast lasted 11 hours 16 minutes.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged or destroyed:

  • in Shalyhyne community, a residential house was destroyed;

  • in Znob-Novhorodske community, a residential house was destroyed;

  • in Hlukhiv community, an apartment building sustained damage;

  • in Esman community, an apartment building sustained destruction.

Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, reported Over the past month, eight civilians were killed as a result of russian attacks. The threat of airstrikes remains almost constant. The enemy shells the border area daily by artillery, mortars and multiple-launch rocket systems. In November alone, the enemy carried out more than 240 attacks and more than 300 airstrikes on the territory of Sumy oblast.

Chernihiv oblast

The Regional Police reported that during the day on 4 December, russian forces attacked a woodworking enterprise in Horodnia by drones. Two employees — men born in 1971 and 1992 — were injured and taken to hospital, where they are receiving medical care. A warehouse and the company’s equipment were damaged.

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, said that during the day on 4 December, russian forces attacked Ivanivka village in Semenivka community by an FPV drone. Agricultural machinery was damaged.

The City Council informed that during the day on 4 December, amid an air-raid alert, a russian drone crash was recorded near Chernihiv. According to Chernihiv Municipal Military Administration, a private house was damaged as a result of the drone’s fall.

The North Operational Command in its morning summary on 4 December reported that russian forces used FPV drones to strike an energy facility and mobile communication towers in border villages of Koriukivka region. In addition, an outbuilding and a residential house were damaged in one of the villages of the Koriukivka community.

According to Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, throughout 3 December, russian forces attacked three border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Horodnia, Semenivka and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (11 explosions), FPV drone strikes (5 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (9 explosions).

On 4 December, volunteers from across the oblast were honoured at the Regional Council in Chernihiv. Ahead of International Volunteer Day, marked on 5 December, ten “Volunteer of Chernihiv oblast” awards, twenty letters of appreciation and an honorary certificate with a badge were presented.

The Regional Military Administration announced that a total of 12,659 households in five communities — Semenivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi, Koriukivka, Snovsk and Horodnia — have received winter assistance, either as funds for purchasing solid fuel or as solid fuel itself.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk RMA, reported that in Nikopol region, the enemy struck the regional centre, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities by drones and artillery. A 53-year-old woman was injured. A fire broke out and a car was destroyed. 2 private houses and 2 gas pipelines were damaged.

Synelnykove region. The russian military hit Mykolaivka and Vasylkivka communities. A fire broke out, destroying a private house. 11 private houses, 6 outbuildings, 5 cars and a power line were damaged. Updated information confirms that 6 people were injured in yesterday’s attack on Kryvyi Rih. 23 private houses, an educational facility, garages, a shop and vehicles were damaged.

There were 76 attacks over the day in 3 regions of the oblast.

Nikopol region. The enemy struck the regional centre, Myrove, Chervonohryhorivka, Marhanets and Pokrovske communities by drones and artillery. A 41-year-old man was killed. A 45-year-old man was injured. Fires broke out; a gas station, a shop, private houses, cars, a minibus, a trailer, a non-operational building, solar panels and a gas pipeline were damaged.

Synelnykove region. The russian military struck Bohynivka community with UAVs. A fire broke out, damaging a kindergarten and windows in nearby buildings.

Kryvyi Rih region. The enemy attacked Hrushivka community with drones. An outbuilding and an administrative facility were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

In Vinnytsia, residents paid tribute to fallen Ukrainian defender Serhii Zhuk — a soldier of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, who volunteered to join the Armed Forces in the first days of the full-scale invasion.

Cherkasy oblast

A memorial ceremony was held in Cherkasy for border guard Oleksandr Khablak, who was killed in action near Kreminna. He was reburied in the city where his family has lived since autumn 2022; previously he had been buried in Dnipro. After Oleksandr’s death, his wife Yulia decided to join the military and is now serving in the Phoenix unit.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that the russian military attacked Zaporizhzhia oblast. As a result of the strike, a man was injured. 15 households and an education facility were damaged by the shelling. Gas pipeline networks were affected. Utility services will begin repair works as soon as the security situation allows.

On 3 December, the russian military carried out 922 strikes on 23 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, 317 artillery attacks targeted the areas of Chervonodniprivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Zatyshshia, Varvarivka, Dobropillia and Bilohiria.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 26 russian attacks in Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka regions. No combat engagements were recorded in Orikhiv region.

Mykolaiv oblast

Based on the information provided by Mykolaiv RMA, on 3 December, the russian military launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile at the outskirts of Bashtanka. A fire broke out at the scene. There were no casualties reported. Also, russian forces attacked Ochakiv community twice with FPV drones yesterday. There were no casualties reported.

Odesa oblast

Relying on the information provided by Odesa RMA, 5 people were injured in the overnight attack on Odesa. The strike caused a fire at an energy facility and damaged an administrative building, high-rise buildings and several vehicles. In some apartments, the blast wave trapped 2 people; rescuers freed them and handed them over to medical personnel. 3 people were hospitalised in moderate condition, while others received medical care on site. Firefighting equipment of a State Emergency Service unit was damaged in the attack.

Air defence forces in Odesa oblast shot down or neutralised 17 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Herbera and other types.

Kherson oblast

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that the russian military shelled a perinatal centre in Kherson. At the moment of the strike, doctors were delivering babies. No infants, patients or medical staff were harmed.

According to the CMA, a 44-year-old man was hospitalised after coming under russian attack at around 2:20pm in the central part of Kherson. He was diagnosed with a concussion, blast and closed head injuries, and a shrapnel wound to the leg.

The RMA informed that around 12:30pm, russian forces attacked a motorcyclist with a drone in Bilozirka. The 36-year-old man sustained a concussion, blast and closed head injuries, a fractured collarbone and rib. He is hospitalised.

The CMA added that a 73-year-old resident of Antonivka was hospitalised after stepping on a mine and sustaining a blast injury and a shrapnel wound to the leg.

Referring to Kherson RMA, at around 11am, russian forces shelled Tekstylne settlement. A 66-year-old woman was injured. She suffered a concussion and blast-related head injuries.

At around 9:15am, russian forces attacked Dniprovskyi district of Kherson by a drone. 2 women were injured, sustaining blast injuries and burns to the face and legs. They were taken to hospital.

The russian troops shelled Dniprovskyi district again. A woman and 2 men were injured and transported to hospital.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the RMA, confirmed that a 6-year-old girl who had been injured the previous day in an artillery strike on Dniprovskyi district of Kherson died in hospital.

On 3 December, 3 people, including a child, were killed and 7 injured as a result of russian shelling. The russian forces attacked 21 settlements in the oblast. 4 private houses, an administrative building and a vehicle were damaged.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the Predator brigade, the 74th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion and the 20th Operational Subordination Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine Lyubart received pickup trucks, Mavics, FPV, electronic warfare systems, a ground robotic complex, charging stations, satellite modems, antennas, and much more worth over UAH 16m from Lutsk community.

Zakarpattia oblast

At the initiative of the Pro Arte Munkacs public organization, as part of the charity campaign It’s good to be kind! (Jónak lenni jó!) a charity exhibition of the oblast artists entitled Act (Tenni) was opened. The funds raised will go to children from the oblast who find themselves in difficult situations.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

There are 60 temporary accommodation facilities in the region with almost 2,500 beds. Over 2,000 people are staying there. If necessary, another 612 beds can be deployed in 38 facilities.

Lviv oblast

The 1st house in Ukraine for cancer patients who come for treatment will be built in Lviv. People undergoing chemotherapy or other types of therapy will be able to live here for free. The house will be built at the expense of partners using modular Japanese technology. For this purpose, we signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the DAIWA House Group company.

Rivne oblast

2 Mental Health Centers have been opened in Kostopil and Sarny hospitals. Multidisciplinary teams will work there, including psychiatrists, narcologists, psychologists and other specialists. Their task is to provide assistance to adults and children in crisis situations, during recovery and adaptation.

Ternopil oblast

In Ternopil, a one-time cash assistance will be allocated to the families of civilians who died or were killed as a result of a rocket attack on 19 November 2025. According to the document, each family will receive UAH 100,000 for each deceased (deceased).

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA delegation is in the UK, where they visited one of the region’s successful industrial and logistics parks Markham Vale in Derbyshire. This is an example of how former mining areas, which fell into disrepair after the closure of coal enterprises, have been transformed into a modern, highly developed business area, with the main emphasis on creating new jobs.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi City Council approved the installation of a memorial plaque to Anatolii Rus, fallen soldier, on the facade of Chernivtsi Philosophical and Legal Lyceum №2.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution demanding that the russian federation return illegally abducted Ukrainian children. The resolution was supported by 91 countries.

Australia and New Zealand will join the PURL program. Over 20 Allies have already contributed to the PURL program. This week, 5 Allies announced additional financial assistance to Ukraine: Canada is providing $198.4m, the Netherlands is providing $248.2m and Norway, Poland and Germany together are providing $497.6m.
