The aggressor continues attempts to advance deeper into the territory of Ukraine. In certain sections of the frontline, the occupiers are conducting assault operations. The Defense Forces are holding back the enemy, inflicting significant losses on them.
Since the beginning of the day, the number of enemy attacks has reached 42.
The enemy is shelling border areas. Today in the Sumy region, the settlements of Sukhodil, Volfyne, Esman, Rohizne, and Starykove were affected.
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out one airstrike, dropped three aerial bombs, and conducted 90 shelling attacks on populated areas and positions of our troops, four of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, one enemy attack toward the settlement of Zybyne is currently ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked three times toward Petropavlivka and Kurylivka. One engagement is still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled four attempts by the invaders to advance toward the settlements of Stavky, Drobysheve, and Lyman. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, the aggressor launched three attacks in the areas of Zakitne and Platonivka and toward Riznykivka. One engagement continues.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the invaders carried out nine offensive actions in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka, and toward Illinivka. Two attacks are ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have attempted nine times to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Novooleksandrivka. Two engagements are still ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy launched three offensives toward Ternove, Vyshneve, and Zlahoda. Two engagements are currently ongoing. Vyshneve and Pysantsi were subjected to airstrikes.
In the Huliaipole direction, eight attacks took place in the areas of Huliaipole and toward Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, and Huliaipilske. One engagement is ongoing. The enemy carried out airstrikes near Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhna Tersa, Huliaipilske, Kopani, Charivne, Dolynka, and Liubytske.
In the Orikhiv direction, one engagement occurred near Stepnohirsk.
In the Prydniprovske direction, no active offensive actions by the enemy have been recorded.
In other directions, no significant changes in the situation have occurred so far. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.
Ukrainian forces are wearing down the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.
Over 95% of Ukrainian prisoners of war are subjected to systematic torture, and as of the end of 2025, 337 Ukrainian POWs were deliberately and brutally executed by Russians. The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, called on the international community to increase pressure on Russia and hold those responsible accountable. He made this statement during an Interactive Dialogue with the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture within the framework of a session of the UN Human Rights Council.
Today, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine approved resilience plans for regions and major cities. The meeting was chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Key priorities include protection of critical infrastructure, development of distributed generation, backup and alternative power supply, and decentralization of heat generation.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
Over the past day, 152 combat clashes were recorded.
Towards Souther Sloboda, the enemy attempted to break through the defensive lines of our defenders in Vovchanski Khutory area.
The enemy did not conduct any offensive operations towards Kupiansk.
Five people, including a 7-year-old girl, required medical assistance as a result of enemy shelling of the city of Chuhuiv. A russian UAV strike damaged a private house and several farm buildings.

According to Mayor Halyna Minaieva, six private houses were damaged and one house was completely destroyed by russian drone strikes on Chuhuiv and Kamiana Yaruzha on the afternoon of 3 March.
The day before, an 80-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl were injured as a result of shelling in Kharkiv.
The enemy attacked Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv with UAVs.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons in Kharkiv oblast:
▪️2 KAB;
▪️7 UAVs of the Geran-2 type;
▪️2 UAVs of the Molniya type;
▪️1 FPV drone;
▪️36 UAVs (type to be determined).
Civil infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
▪️in Kharkiv, 5 apartment buildings, 5 cars, and power lines were damaged;
▪️in Izium region, an educational institution was damaged (Borova village);
▪️in Kharkiv region, power lines were damaged (Budy village);
▪️in Lozova region, 3 private houses were damaged (Lozova city);
▪️in Chuhuiv region, two private houses (Fedorivka village, Pishchane village), four private houses, a farm building, and power lines (Kamiana Yaruha village) were damaged.
The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 146 people in one day. A total of 21,039 people have been registered at the centre since it began operating.
A network of underground educational spaces is being developed to return school students to offline learning: in Zmiiv community, protective structures are being built on the basis of educational institutions. A shelter with an area of over 1,400 square metres, designed for 368 people, is being built at Zmiiv Lyceum; the foundation, external and internal walls and waterproofing have already been completed, and the installation of ventilation and interior decoration is underway, with completion planned for August. In the anti-radiation shelter of Chemuzhiv Lyceum (860 square metres, about 320 people), equipment and furniture are being installed and an alarm system is being prepared for installation. The work is scheduled to be completed by May. Logistics are being worked out separately — communities are providing school buses, in particular for students with limited mobility, to transport children from remote settlements.

Donetsk oblast
Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that Ukrainian troops will not withdraw from Donbas, and the government will not leave 200,000 Ukrainians there, as demanded by ha. According to him, Donetsk Oblast has the best defensive lines, and if they withdraw from there, the Russians will have a clear path to the centre of Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine suspects two judges of the Southern District Military Court of the russian Federation of war crimes. According to law enforcement officials, they handed down illegal sentences to two captured defenders of Mariupol. Investigators believe that they unlawfully sentenced Azov fighters to 18 years in prison.
According to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian military repelled 13 assaults by russian occupiers towards Kostiantynivka. Russian troops attacked near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Ivanopil, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka, and in the direction of Novopavlivka and Illinivka.
There were 23 battles in Pokrovsk during the day, and more than 10 attacks were recorded in the direction of Sloviansk.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the 7th Corps increased its destruction of Russian artillery by more than 50% over the past month. During February, 38 enemy guns and mortars were destroyed in this direction, according to the 7th Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The 63rd Separate Mechanised Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was awarded the honorary name “Lymanska”. The corresponding decree was signed by Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. The brigade has been defending Donetsk oblast near Lyman since March 2023.
Hryhorii Shapoval, Spokesmanof the East Operational-Strategic Command, stated that the villages of Fedorivka Druha and Riznykivka are under the control of the Ukrainian Defence Forces. The Ukrainian military is holding its positions, and the army’s statements are not true.
One person was wounded as a result of russian shelling of Kostiantynivka. According to Horbunov, Head of the Military Administration, the man was in his own home and was urgently evacuated by the military to a hospital in Kramatorsk.
The RMA reported that at 7:50am, the russian army struck Kramatorsk with barrel artillery. There is no information about the dead or wounded, but a service station, a high-rise building and cars were damaged.
On 2 March, russia carried out 1,437attacks along the front line and in the residential sector.
Four settlements were under fire: the cities of Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, and the village of Lvivka.
48 civilian objects were destroyed, including 12 residential buildings.

The russians shelled Kramatorsk with artillery, killing three people and injuring two more. Two apartment buildings, two cafes, a shop, an educational institution, an infrastructure facility, and six civilian vehicles were damaged.
The enemy launched seven strikes on Druzhkivka, including four KAB-250 bombs and FPV drones. Three civilians were killed and 17 wounded. Three apartment buildings and six private houses, two shops, a bank branch, a pharmacy, a post office, a private enterprise, an infrastructure facility, and cars were damaged.
In Mykolaivka, drone strikes damaged infrastructure.
Liakh, Head of the CMA, reported that in Sloviansk, trolleybus service has been suspended since 3 March and the dismantling of the contact network has begun in order to install anti-drone nets on the city’s roads. The transport and the network itself will be evacuated until it is possible to resume trolleybus service.
Luhansk oblast
ATESH carried out sabotage on the railway in temporarily occupied Luhansk in order to disrupt the russian army’s logistics to Pokrovsk front. Agents set fire to relay cabinets on the eastern and western outskirts of the city, and russian military trains are accumulating on the approaches to Luhansk.
The invaders are firing on settlements in Luhansk oblast and Ukrainian defensive fortifications with all available weapons. Yesterday, they fired mortars eight times, grenade launchers four times, and barrel artillery three times. They also used drones. They attacked 21 times on our front lines.
The “lpr” is trying to increase the number of voters before the elections to the State Duma of the russian Federation of the ninth convocation, which are to take place in September. Despite years of data manipulation and allowing people to vote even with Soviet-era documents, according to the russian Central Election Commission, the number of voters decreased by almost 50,000 in 2025. For comparison, in 2012, there were 650,000 more people with the right to vote in Luhansk oblast.
In Novodruzhesk, near Lysychansk, residents have been living without electricity, water and heating for almost four years, but students are forced to attend school. During the cold season, the premises are heated by a potbelly stove, so students take turns studying in one classroom.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The Kyiv City State Administration reported that due to improvements in the energy system in Kyiv, electric transport on the left bank and routes connecting both banks of the capital are gradually being restored. On 3 March, duplicate buses will still be running on the routes. On 4 March, provided there is no new damage to the energy infrastructure, electric transport on the left bank will operate as usual and according to the planned schedule.
The RMA reported that 282 tonnes of diesel fuel from Polish partners arrived in Kyiv oblast. This donation was made possible with the help of the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Rządowa Agencja Rezerw Strategicznych. Ukrzaliznytsia promptly delivered the cargo in five fuel tanks. The fuel received will soon be transferred to the regional communities, primarily to ensure the operation of critical infrastructure facilities.
The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that three russian servicemen are accused of shooting a civilian during the occupation of Kyiv oblast by russian troops. According to the case file, in March 2022, during the temporary occupation of the village of Gostomel in the Bucha district, the commander of an assault company of one of the russian airborne troops ordered his subordinates to shoot a civilian. The victim died on the spot from a gunshot wound to the head.
StopFake debunked another russian fake, which claimed that the UN was “not considering” Bucha because it was a “provocation” and that russia was “not provided” with lists of the killed. In fact, Bucha is a documented crime. On 4 April 2022, the UN stated that the events in Bucha raise “serious questions about war crimes.” The OHCHR report (December 2022) documents extrajudicial executions of civilians during the russian occupation. Confirmed lists of the dead are available from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, Bellingcat, HRW, and the NYT. The UN’s refusal to transfer the data to russia is due to confidentiality and the protection of the investigation, not because of “inaccuracy.” The purpose of the fake news is to appease the russians and remove responsibility for the mass killings.
Zhytomyr oblast
According to the Regional State Administration, since the beginning of the year, the sixth group of Zhytomyr oblast residents has completed a course of training for national resistance at the regional citizen training centre. Over the course of two months in 2026, nearly 100 residents of five territorial communities underwent 48 hours of training. The training programme was comprehensive and covered key areas of preparing the population for action in the event of military challenges.
Sumy oblast
The State Emergency Service of Sumy oblast reported that on 3 March, russian forces attacked Shostka community. A garage caught fire.
Mykola Sachenko, Mayor of Verkhnie Pishchane, informed that in town, a driver was injured in a russian drone attack. A fire was ongoing at the scene. According to him, the vehicle had been parked near a shop and a public transport stop before the strike.
Oleh Hryhorov, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, said that on the morning of 3 March, the russian army shelled Esman community by MLRS, killing a 48-year-old local resident who had been fetching water. The man died at the scene from his injuries.
According to the Regional Military Administration, as of the morning of 3 March, four people were injured over the past day as a result of russian shelling across the oblast. In Sumy community, a 60-year-old woman was injured and a 13-year-old girl was affected in enemy UAV attacks. In Seredyna-Buda community, a 47-year-old woman was injured and a 60-year-old man was affected in an enemy drone strike.
From the morning of 2 March to the morning of 3 March, russian forces carried out more than 50 attacks on 31 settlements across 17 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted 18 hours and 4 minutes over the past day.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:
- In Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities, a residential premises, private residential houses, a multi-apartment residential building, non-residential premises and a private passenger vehicle were damaged;
- In Shostka community, private residential houses were damaged;
- In Esman community, a private residential house was destroyed and another private residential house was damaged;
- In Znob-Novhorodske community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
- In Khutir-Mykhailivka community, a private vehicle was destroyed;
- In Sad community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
- In Trostianets community, private houses, shop premises and a vehicle were damaged.
Over the past day, seven people were evacuated by local authorities in cooperation with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and civil society organisations from border communities.
A relocated business in Sumy oblast was struck for the second time. On the night of 28 February, russian forces hit an enterprise near Sumy by two drones. According to enterprise manager Yurii Derevianko, the attack damaged the roofs of hangars, a minibus, a Kamaz lorry, seed drills and three tractors. The seed company “Kolos” had fully evacuated from Krasnopillia last year after russian shelling and relocated its surviving equipment.

At approximately 9am. on 25 February, a tractor driver of Druzhba forestry of the Shostka forestry branch of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” came under a russian attack. He was carrying out timber skidding operations and travelling along a road between the settlements of Khutir-Mykhailivske and Dorshivka.
The Northern Forest Office reported that an FPV drone fell behind the tractor and detonated. The man was not injured. The blast wave and fragments damaged the tractor.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment reported that during the day on 2 March, russian forces attacked four border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (six explosions) and tube artillery strikes (nine explosions), launched Molniia-type UAVs (two explosions), attacked by FPV drones (19 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (12 explosions). Ten settlements were under enemy fire.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Air defence forces shot down 13 enemy UAVs over the oblast. The enemy continued attacking the oblast by drones and artillery, targeting the regional centre, Myrove and Pokrovske rural communities.
Nikopol region. The occupiers shelled the region by artillery and drones, striking Nikopol, Myrove, Marhanets and Pokrovske rural communities. A house was destroyed. 8 private houses, 2 outbuildings, a vehicle, a canopy and a power line were damaged.
Kryvyi Rih region. The russian forces struck Apostolove and Hrushivka communities. Fires broke out and transport and critical infrastructure were damaged.
Synelnykove region. The russian forces targeted Bohynivka and Petropavlivka communities by UAVs.
Air defence units shot down 8 enemy UAVs over the oblast.
Vinnytsia oblast
Mayor Serhii Morhunov informed that servicemen of Vinnytsia-based unit 3008 of the National Guard, the 1st Separate Heavy Mechanised Siversk Brigade, and the 19th Special Operations Centre received 100 FPV drones (ten-inch type) each, and 5 Matrice 4E drones from the team of the Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters. A vehicle was handed over to one of the Air Force units.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Kropyvnytskyi, a memorial ceremony was held for reconnaissance platoon commander Denys Tushyn. He was killed on 9 February 2026, while carrying out a combat mission near Synelnykove city in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. He was 39 years old.
Kirovohrad oblast continues to receive internally displaced persons from frontline areas. Particular assistance is being provided to people with limited mobility. Since the beginning of this year alone, more than 50 individuals requiring special care have been sheltered. They are mostly accommodated in regional hospitals, where medical staff provide round-the-clock support. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 1,800 IDPs have relocated to communities in the oblast, including over 420 children.
Poltava oblast
In Poltava oblast, debris from russian UAVs was recorded falling. 4 people were injured and nearby buildings damaged.
In Podilskyi district of Poltava, a vocational lyceum was damaged as a result of a russian UAV attack. The blast wave shattered 12 windows at the educational institution. The building has been damaged for the 3rd time since the start of the full-scale war.
2 servicemen from Poltava oblast were killed in the war: Pavlo Filimonov and Mykola Manko.
Pavlo Filimonov was killed on 10 February 2026, while carrying out a combat mission near Mykolaivka settlement in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
Mykola Manko was killed on 21 February 2026, while carrying out a combat mission near Osynove settlement in Kharkiv oblast.
Cherkasy oblast
The mother of fallen soldier Valentyn Ishchenko, Nina Tarasova, was awarded the medal To the Unbreakable Cherkasy Woman.
In Balakleia village in Cherkasy oblast, a memorial ceremony for fallen defender Mykola Diachko will be held on 4 March. He was killed on 12 September 2025, near Dachne village in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
In Mankivka, serviceman Serhii Fostyk was laid to rest. He was killed on 19 February 2026, in Sumy oblast.
In Cherkasy, a memorial ceremony was held for 24-year-old soldier Anton Rusin. He was killed on 20 December 2024, as a result of artillery shelling of a firing position in Kursk axis.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, in Bilenke village, a russian FPV drone attacked a vehicle delivering bread in the morning. The driver was injured in the explosion.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the RMA, stated that a 65-year-old man was wounded as a result of a russian attack on Orikhiv in Polohy region. Private houses were damaged by shelling.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on 2 March, the Defence Forces repelled 42 russian attacks in Huliaipole and Orikhiv regions. The russian troops attempted to advance near Huliaipole and Zelene, and toward Tsvitkove, Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, Sviatopetrivka, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, as well as near Plavni and Stepnohirsk.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, reported that on 2 March, russian forces carried out 766 strikes on 35 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, 472 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV drones) targeted Lysohirka, Blakytnе, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Lukianivske, Pavlivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Myrne, Sviatopetrivka, Staroukrainka, Zelene, Varvarivka, Dobropillia and Nove Zaporizhzhia.
Mykolaiv oblast
Based on the information provided by Mykolaiv RMA, during the day, there was a threat of ballistic missile strikes in Mykolaiv oblast, and UAV movements were recorded.
On 2 March, the russian military attacked Kutsurub community by FPV drones and carried out 2 artillery strikes on the community. In Dmytrivka village, 2 private houses and a power line were damaged. There were no injuries reported.
Odesa oblast
Referring to Odesa RMA, as a result of a nighttime attack, port and railway infrastructure facilities were damaged. In particular, a dry cargo warehouse and road containers were damaged and windows were shattered in administrative buildings. There were no fires or injuries reported.
On the night of 3 March, servicemen of Odesa Border Guard Detachment destroyed 2 Shahed drones over the waters of the Black Sea.
Kherson oblast
According to Kherson RMA, at approximately 9:50am, russian forces struck a civilian vehicle by a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. A 47-year-old man standing near the vehicle sustained shrapnel wounds to his leg, a concussion, blast trauma and a closed head injury.
At around 9:40am, russian forces attacked the central part of Kherson by a drone. A 57-year-old man sustained blast trauma and abdominal injuries.
At about 9:15am, russian forces attacked 2 women by a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. The 74-year-old and 67-year-old women sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to their limbs.
At approximately 8am, russian forces attacked a vehicle in Dariivka by a UAV. A 66-year-old woman sustained a concussion, blast trauma and a closed head injury.
At around 8am, russian forces attacked Dniprovskyi district of Kherson by a drone. A 64-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man were injured. They sustained blast trauma and acute stress reactions.
Medical assistance was required for a child who was injured on 1 March as a result of russian shelling of Korabelnyi district of Kherson. A 9-year-old girl was diagnosed with blast trauma and an acute stress reaction.

Volyn oblast
An open meeting with internally displaced people was held in Lutsk. The event was attended by Denys Ulyutin, Minister of Social Policy, representatives of the RMA, people’s deputies, and representatives of social protection bodies, the Pension Fund and other structures.
Zakarpattia oblast
In Uzhhorod, they said goodbye to 35-year-old Hero Mykyta Sheldyaev, Rifleman of the 1st Airborne Assault Battalion of the Military Unit A2582. The soldier was killed on the battlefield on 2 November 2025 near the settlement of Rodynske, Pokrovsky region, Donetsk oblast.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
A special evening dedicated to the memory of the brothers of the Mahno Group was held in Ivano-Frankivsk. They remembered their compatriots who gave their lives for a free Ukraine. On 26 February 2025, the russian army dropped a guided aerial bomb on the position of the reconnaissance platoon of the Mahno Group near Hulyaipol in Zaporizhzhia. During the event, Mrs. Halyna Yembryk, mother of the fallen Defender, who organized this evening of remembrance, was presented with the regional award for her son – the For Merit to the Carpathians medal (posthumously).
Lviv oblast
A charity event Coffee for a Donation was held at Gymnasium №2 in Sheptytskyi, organized by the Foundation for Development and Strategic Changes. UAH 11,880 was raised during the charity initiative.
The 18th charitable All-Ukrainian festival-competition Rhythms of Prykarpattia – 2026 was held in Novorozdil City House of Culture Molodist, during which 47,800 UAH were raised to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, namely for the purchase of folding beds.
Rivne oblast
Children’s spaces will be opened in four communities of Rivne oblast as part of an OSCE pilot project at the request of the National Social Service of Ukraine in cooperation with Rivne RMA and local governments. As part of the visit, the delegation will visit Dubrovytska, Rokytnivska, Zarichnenska, Rivneska and Demydivska communities, where they will inspect the premises proposed for the implementation of the project and talk to representatives of local authorities.
Ternopil oblast
During the field donation in Borsukivska community, over 27 liters of blood were raised. 61 community residents participated in the charity event.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
Khmelnytskyi RMA team visited the soldiers of the 36th Podilskyi Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine, the 19th St. Barbara Missile Brigade, the 46th Separate Airmobile Podilskyi Brigade, and the 18th Slavic Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, which are holding the defense in the east. They handed over reconnaissance UAVs, FPV drones, generators, power supplies, night vision devices, and other necessary equipment.
Chernivtsi oblast
Chernivtsi community has donated an ambulance to one of Chernivtsi military units. The vehicle is fully equipped with modern medical equipment and everything necessary for providing emergency care and transporting the wounded.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
The Netherlands has refused to host the European Para Swimming Championships because the International Paralympic Committee demands that russians and belarusians be allowed to compete under their own flags.
The Belgian Ministry of Defense announced that the Belgian Armed Forces have intercepted a russian shadow fleet tanker. The operation was carried out with the support of the French military, and the vessel is currently being escorted to the port of Zeebrugge.
