The invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders.
In total, there have been 131 combat clashes since the beginning of the day.
Border settlements, in particular Bleshnia, Tymonovychi, Senkivka, and Khrinivka in Chernihiv oblast, as well as Malushyne, Shalyhyne, and Novovasylivka in Sumy oblast, have been hit by artillery shelling from the territory of the russian Federation.
Towards North Slobozhanske and Kursk, Ukrainian defenders repelled five russian attacks, with another combat engagement still ongoing.
The enemy has carried out 78 shellings.
Towards South Slobozhanske, Ukrainian soldiers stopped eight enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Prylipka, Synelnykove, Vovchansk, and in the direction of Kolodiazne and Izbytske. Two clashes are still ongoing.
Towards Kupiansk, the aggressor carried out six assaults in the areas of the settlements of Senkivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and Nova Kruhliakivka.
Towards Lyman, the invading army attacked 29 times in the areas of the settlements of Novovodiane, Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Novomykhailivka, Serednie, Karpivka, Shandryholove, Kolodiazi, Myrne, Zarichne and in the direction of Stepove. Seven clashes are currently ongoing.
Towards Sloviansk, the Defence Forces repelled eight enemy attacks near Yampil, Dronivka, Serebrianka and Siversk, with another battle still ongoing.
No battles have been reported in the Kramatorsk direction at this time.
Towards Kostiantynivka, our soldiers stopped 21 enemy offensives in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbinivka, Yablunivka, and Rusyn Yar, with two clashes still ongoing.
Towards Pokrovsk, the occupiers have made 36 attempts to dislodge our defenders from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Volodymyrivka, Maiak, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Dachne and towards Novopavlivka. The defence forces are holding back the enemy’s advance and have already stopped 32 attacks.
Today, towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy attacked nine times in the areas of the settlements of Yalta, Oleksandrohrad, Sosnivka, Verbove, Krasnohirske and Pryvilne.
Towards Huliaipole, three combat clashes were recorded in the areas of the settlements of Zatyshshia and Huliaipole. The settlements of Nove Zaporizhzhia, Huliaipole, Vozdvyzhivka, and Zaliznychne were subjected to air strikes.
No offensive actions by the enemy have been recorded in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovsk directions at this time.
The situation on other fronts has not changed significantly.
Pavlo Uhrovetskyi, Head of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, reported that as of 28 November this year, the russian army has killed 4,472 civilians in Donetsk oblast, including 279 minors. At the same time, 8,571 of them were civilians, journalists, energy workers, doctors, volunteers, police officers and rescuers. Prosecutors and law enforcers have documented more than 59,000 crimes committed by the army of the aggressor state. They also recorded targeted strikes on civilian vehicles and evacuation vehicles. The russian military clearly saw that there were civilians there.

Kharkiv oblast
Fronline
Towards South Slobozhanske, Ukrainian soldiers stopped eight russian attacks in the areas of the settlements of Prylipka, Synelnykove, Vovchansk, and in the direction of Kolodiazne and Izbytske. According to the General Staff, two combat engagements are ongoing as of 4pm.
Towards Kupiansk, the occupiers carried out six assaults in the areas of the settlements of Senkivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and Nova Kruhliakivka.
On 2 December, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Forces Operation denied statements by the russian leadership about the capture of Kupiansk and Vovchansk.
The General Staff noted that these statements are an attempt to influence participants in international negotiations and do not correspond to reality. The defence forces continue defensive operations in these areas of the front.
Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the Achilles 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment, reported that the defence forces managed to push the russians back to the northern outskirts of Kupiansk to the Oskil River, thus preventing their infiltration into the city.
Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informed that Ukrainian defenders have improved their tactical position in Kupiansk and are trying to push the occupiers out of their stronghold north of the city.
Attacks
According to Chuhuiv Mayor Halyna Minaieva, due to the russian attack on Chuhuiv on 2 December, a civilian enterprise, three apartment buildings, a kindergarten, and a garage cooperative were damaged. Preliminary data indicates that there were no casualties.
Over the past day, 226 combat clashes were recorded.
Towards South Slobozhanske, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 14 times in the areas of Vovchansk, Izbitske, Synelnykove, Obukhivka, and Novovasylivka.
Nine combat clashes took place yesterday towards Kupiansk. Our defenders stopped the enemy’s assault near Pishchane, Petropavlivka, Hlushevka, Shyikivka, and Novoplatonivka.
Over the past day, six settlements were hit by enemy strikes. Six people were injured as a result of the shelling.
In Bashylivka village, Blyzniukivka community, women aged 59, 64 and 67 were injured; on the highway in Zolochiv community, a 40-year-old and a 47-year-old man were injured; in Pechenihy village, a 67-year-old woman was injured.
A 37-year-old man was also injured as a result of an explosion of a dangerous object in Kharkiv.
The enemy actively used various types of weapons in Kharkiv oblast:
▪️9 UAVs of the Geran-2 type;
▪️3 FPV drones;
▪️3 UAVs (type to be determined).
Civilian infrastructure was damaged and destroyed:
▪️in Bohodukhiv region, a shop (village of Polkova Mykytyvka) and a car (village of Klynova-Novoselivka) were damaged;
▪️in Lozova region, 5 private houses (village of Bashylivka) were damaged;
▪️in Chuhuiv region, 2 private houses (village of Pechenihy), 5 private houses, and power lines (village of Martova) were damaged.
Reffering to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, due to russian strikes on energy facilities, as of the morning of 2 December, consumers in the Kharkiv region are without power.

The transit evacuation centre in Lozova took in 27 people in 24 hours. 26 people remain. A total of 13,899 people have been registered at the centre since it began operating.
Evacuation
According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oleksii Serheiev, 243 children remain to be evacuated from settlements where compulsory evacuation of children and their families has been announced. He said that specially created groups are involved in the evacuation, particularly in Kharkiv oblast. There are currently 77 such groups, 51 of which are mobile evacuation groups within the police force.
Donetsk oblast
Frontline
SSO units struck a building in Pokrovsk, where russian troops were gathering, as well as two fuel and ammunition depots in the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts with drones. The russian army locations were more than 90 and 60km from the front line, respectively.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied statements by the russian military command about the occupation of Pokrovsk in Donetsk oblast. Defense forces are holding positions in the northern part of the city along the railway line.
According to the East Operational Command, a group of russian soldiers made their way into one of the city’s neighborhoods under cover of fog and took photos with the russian tricolor. They fled, and this area of Pokrovsk was cleared.
Both Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad have firing and observation positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. According to Serhii Okishev, an officer of the 7th Airborne Corps, Ukrainian troops are detecting and destroying infantry groups trying to enter the northern part of Pokrovsk.
Attacks
The RMA reported that at 3:48pm, russian troops struck the private sector of Kramatorsk community. Russian troops struck the community with three KAB-250 bombs, which hit the industrial zone and the private sector of the community, damaging 10 residential buildings.
On 1 December, the police recorded 1,591 enemy shellings along the front line and in the residential sector.
Six settlements were under fire: Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Novoselivka, and Spasko-Mykhailivka.
A total of 108 civilian objects were destroyed, including 57 residential buildings.

Russian troops sent eight drones, including Geran-2, to Kramatorsk. The attack lasted five hours and was concentrated on a residential area: five apartment buildings and seven private houses were damaged, as well as seven civilian cars. Two people were killed and five more were injured. Rescuers recovered the body of one of the victims from the rubble the next day.

The enemy launched 12 strikes on Kostiantynivka, nine of which were with KAB-250 bombs. One person was killed and one injured. Eleven apartment buildings, private houses, and a church were damaged.
One person was killed in Lyman as a result of an FPV drone strike.
Sloviansk withstood nine attacks. Russia struck the city with two KAB-500 and KAB-250 bombs, five Geran-2 UAVs, and twice fired on it with Smerch multiple launch rocket systems. 30 private houses, 8 buildings of two private enterprises, a hospital, a boiler room, non-residential premises, critical infrastructure, and 14 vehicles were destroyed.

In Novoselivka, Cherkasy community, russian troops fired Tornado-S and Geran-2 multiple launch rocket systems and Geran-2 UAVs, damaging a farm.
In Spasko-Mykhailivka, two Geran-2 UAVs damaged one apartment building and two private houses.
Other
Over UAH 400m have been allocated to protect critical infrastructure in Donetsk oblast. The money was allocated from the state budget reserve fund, and the recipient of these funds and the customer for the work, in accordance with the order of the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, was determined to be the Service for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in Donetsk Oblast. Currently, reports on the conclusion of 16 contracts for the performance of these works have been published in the Prozorro system.
Over three years, the White Angel police crews have made 9,775 calls.
Luhansk oblast
Over the past day, russian troops carried out 29 assaults towards Lyman and Sloviansk, in particular near Tverdokhlibove. The enemy used artillery and drones, but Ukrainian units are holding their defences.
There is no mobile communication in Siverskodonetsk and nearby towns; only some payphones and landlines remain available. The occupying authorities are considering creating a local network for emergency services, but calls between subscribers will remain unavailable.
In Antratsyt and Khrustalne, where there has been no water supply since the summer, the occupiers have refused to build new water pipelines. They plan to supply local residents with technical water from mines on an hourly basis, without any guarantee of its quality.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The number of fatalities in Kyiv as a result of the russian massive attack on 29 November has increased. According to Mayor Vitalii Klychko, a man who was in critical condition after the enemy shelling of the capital on 29 November died in hospital. This brings the death toll to three.
The total amount of the planned regional subsidy is UAH 638.39m. These funds will be used to co-finance repairs and new construction of shelters, educational institutions, clinics and other critical infrastructure, as well as the restoration of damaged housing. The regional administration reported that more than UAH 950m from the state budget was allocated to the implementation of projects for the construction of shelters, major repairs of food units, the purchase of school buses, firefighting equipment, and the creation of a new educational space for the community.
In Tarasivka, Kyiv oblast, the fifth phase of housing in Hansen Town was opened. As part of the new phase, a 16-apartment building for internally displaced persons, a 40-bed dormitory for elderly people evacuated from combat zones, space for IT academy students, and a “Recovery Shelter” for women who have survived captivity, sexual violence, torture, and other war crimes. Today, almost 500 families from the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy oblasts live in Hansen Town. KCMA reported that an evacuation (transit) centre is being launched at the Pivdennyi railway station in Kyiv. The creation of the centre is a joint initiative of the Kyiv City Military Administration, the Pluriton NGO, and Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, with the support of the UNHCR and other partner organisations. The centre is currently operating in test mode.
Zhytomyr oblast
NGO In Touch Ukraine Foundation in Zhytomyr reported that Mobile teams of doctors will once again be working in five border communities in Zhytomyr oblast, providing medical services to local residents directly in the settlements where they live. In addition, mammography machines will be installed in two hospitals in remote communities to detect and prevent cancer in women. At the end of 2024, the project was terminated ahead of schedule due to force majeure circumstances.
The Ministry of Economy reported that another industrial park has been officially registered in Zhytomyr oblast to provide 600 jobs. The development of the industrial park will contribute to increasing the investment attractiveness of the oblast and the development of Ukraine’s processing industry.
Sumy oblast
On the morning of 2 December the General Staff reported that towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, three combat engagements took place over the past day. Enemy forces carried out four airstrikes, dropping 18 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 116 attacks, including three by multiple-launch rocket systems.
The State Border Guard Service informed that towards Kursk, UAV operators of “Stalevyi Kordon” brigade used FPV drones to destroy three russian shelters. The fighters also eliminated a russian assault trooper and another russian serviceman.
Between the morning of 1 December and the morning of 2 December, russian forces carried out 70 attacks on 30 settlements in 13 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of strikes was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used guided aerial bombs (up to 20 strikes), dropped VOG explosives from UAVs (more than 10 strikes), and also conducted FPV drone attacks. Over the day, the air-raid alert in the oblast lasted 13 hours.
Consequences of russian attacks on Sumy oblast as of the morning of 2 December:
- in Bilopillia community, a 57-year-old driver was killed and a 41-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries when a russian drone struck their vehicle. A car was damaged;
- in Shalyhyne community, a residential house was destroyed. In addition, a 51-year-old resident sought medical assistance; he had been injured on 29 November when an FPV drone struck a vehicle;
- in Sumy community, private residential houses and non-residential buildings were damaged;
- in Esman community, residential houses were destroyed and outbuildings damaged;
- in Seredyna-Buda community, a civilian infrastructure facility, residential houses and outbuildings were damaged;
- in Znob-Novhorodske community, residential houses were damaged;
- updated information shows that in Svesa community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
- in Hlukhiv community, non-residential premises were damaged.
According to the Regional Military Administration, in November, the enemy attacked communities across Sumy oblast daily, carrying out more than 1,500 strikes over the month, including 318 guided aerial bomb strikes, 205 strike UAV attacks and eight missile strikes. During this period, eight residents were killed and 40 people injured, including four children. More than a hundred private houses, apartment buildings and infrastructure and educational facilities were damaged.
The Regional Military Administration announced that more than 180km of roads in Sumy oblast are now covered by anti-drone protection. Engineering and fortification works have been completed on the outskirts of Sumy.
Chernihiv oblast
Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that in November 2025, at least 700 russian strike drones were shot down over Chernihiv oblast.
Operational Command “North” reported that during the day on 1 December, russians struck an energy facility in Koriukivka community by a strike UAV. The attack caused destruction and emergency power outages were applied.
The Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi RMA informed that at around 5pm on 2 December, the russian army attacked Korop town in Novhorod-Siverskyi region by a drone. The strike drone hit a civilian infrastructure facility.
According to Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, throughout 1 November, russian forces attacked four border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks (15 explosions), FPV drone strikes (13 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (5 explosions).
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Air defence units were operating in the oblast. Ukrainian air-defence forces destroyed 7 enemy UAVs.
Samar region. As a result of a UAV attack on Lychkove community, infrastructure was damaged.
Synelnykove region. The russian forces struck Mezhova community by KABs. 2 civilians were injured, a 77-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman.
Nikopol region. In the evening, the enemy shelled Pokrovske community by artillery. There were no casualties reported. According to updated information, 45 people were injured in yesterday’s attack on Dnipro.
Nikopol region. A difficult day was reported in the region. As a result of enemy attacks, 13 people were injured. Women aged 27, 52, 50, 59, 58 (two cases), 39, 51 and 49 will receive outpatient treatment. Men aged 74, 42, 25 and 73 were also wounded and received medical care. The enemy targeted Nikopol, Myrove, Marhanetsk and Chervonohryhorivka communities by artillery and drones. A cultural and leisure institution, 9 apartment buildings, a commercial pavilion, an administrative building, a vehicle, a private house, 2 outbuildings and other infrastructure were damaged.
Vinnytsia oblast
The initiative Give Warmth to a Defender has begun in Vinnytsia, collecting materials and funds for making trench candles. The collection runs from 1 to 12 December. Organisers – the Youth Policy Department of Vinnytsia City Council and VinSmart Centre – encourage residents to bring necessary materials: candles of any size, paraffin, wax and small tin cans.
Kirovohrad oblast
Dmytro Bohdanov, Co-organiser of the Become a Secret Santa for the Military campaign, said that this is the third time the campaign has been held in Kropyvnytskyi. Until 12 December, organisers will collect gifts for one of the platoons of the 121st Territorial Defence Brigade. The goal is to collect 28 gifts, each worth UAH 1-1.5 thousand.
Poltava oblast
3 servicemen from Poltava oblast were killed: Oleksandr Mykytenko, Yurii Hryshko and Viacheslav Halata.
Oleksandr Mykytenko was killed on 28 November 2025 during a combat mission in Kharkiv oblast.
Yurii Hryshko was killed during a combat mission on 13 November 2025.
Viacheslav Halata was killed defending Ukraine on 10 October 2024.
Poltava educational institution unveiled memorial plaques in honor of 2 fallen defenders: Artem Charin and Pavlo Ostapchuk.
Artem Charin was killed on 13 July 2025 while performing a combat task, as a result of a russian drone strike near Rusyn Yar village in Kramatorsk region, Donetsk oblast.
Pavlo Ostapchuk was killed on 10 March 2023 near Ivanivske village in Bakhmut region, Donetsk oblast, during assault actions. He was posthumously awarded Poltava community distinction Defender of Ukraine – Hero of the City of Poltava.
Volunteers of the humanitarian mission Proliska evacuated 3 families from frontline settlements of Dnipropetrovsk oblast to Kremenchuk. The families were forced to leave their homes due to constant shelling. 11 displaced people were accommodated in a dormitory and provided with essential assistance.
Cherkasy oblast
A defender from Uman region, Andrii Biliavskyi, has been confirmed dead after being listed as missing for more than a year. He was killed on 19 September 2024 while performing military duty in Donetsk oblast.
The community in Cherkasy paid tribute to defender Serhii Mishchenko, who was killed on 25 January in Donetsk oblast.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on 1 December, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 40 russian attacks in Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka regions. No combat engagements were recorded on Orikhiv region.
Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, stated that the russian military carried out 663 strikes on 20 towns and villages across Zaporizhzhia oblast. In particular, russian forces conducted 249 artillery attacks targeting Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Solodke, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Charivne and Bilohiria.
Mykolaiv oblast
Based on the information provided by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, 2 residents of Mykolaiv, a 78-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man, experienced an acute stress reaction during yesterday’s Shahed drone attack. In the evening, Shahed drones targeted industrial infrastructure in the city.
The russian military attacked Ochakiv community by FPV drones 3 times. Kutsurub community was struck by MLRS fire. As a result, windows of a house in Yaselka village were damaged. There were no injuries reported.
Odesa oblast
Referring to Odesa RMA, russian attack damaged an energy facility, an administrative building and private households. The strike caused disruptions to electricity supply. There were no casualties reported. A municipal response headquarters is working at the site and critical infrastructure is temporarily powered by generators. 11 Invincibility Centres have been deployed to assist residents.
During the night, russia attacked the south of Odesa oblast by 20 Shahed/Geran-2 drones. Almost all of them were directed toward Bolhrad and Izmail regions.
Kherson oblast
The Prosecutor’s Office reported that around 10:30am, the russian forces shelled Kherson by artillery. A 76-year-old woman was killed.
According to Kherson City Military Administration, russian forces shelled Dniprovskyi district of Kherson. The territory of a municipal enterprise came under attack and buildings, vehicles and power lines were damaged.
The Regional Military Administration reported that around 11am, russian forces shelled Bilozirka. A 49-year-old man sustained injuries, including blast trauma and a concussion.
The CMA added that a 43-year-old woman was injured in Komyshany near Kherson following russian shelling. She was transported to hospital with blast injuries and a contusion.
Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, informed that on 1 December, 13 people were injured as a result of russian attacks in the oblast. 6 high-rise buildings, 113 private homes, gas pipelines, a shop, a minibus taxi, garages and cars were damaged. A total of 32 settlements in the oblast came under russian attack.
According to the Southern Defence Forces, Ukrainian forces in the south destroyed 5 Shahed-136 drones. They detected and eliminated 9 russian UAV operator teams.
The command added that russian military lost 295 personnel, 8 artillery systems, 9 vehicles, 6 boats and a field ammunition depot.
Yaroslav Shanko, Head of Kherson CMA, informed that in Kherson, 17 people were killed and 145 injured, including 14 children, due to russian shelling during November.

Volyn oblast
Kolkiv Village Council reported that Yurii Blyzniuk was solemnly awarded with the For Wounding Order by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
Zakarpattia oblast
As part of the New direction of vocational education in Uzhhorod project, which is implemented by the Partnership Association Uzhhorod-Darmstadt NGO under the leadership of Victoria Synyo, the State Educational Institution Uzhhorod Center for Vocational Education received 11 laptops, 2 projectors with screens, 20 training kits and consumables for training future electricians. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Partnership Germany-Ukraine / Moldova NGO (PDUM) with the support of the Schmitz Stiftung Foundation (Germany).
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Ivano-Frankivsk community sent a powerful diesel generator, 10 Starlinks, Bandera Powers and batteries to the 4th Rifle Battalion of the 102nd Brigade.
Lviv oblast
The 3rd Sviatoslav Khorobry Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received drones thanks to funds from the Comprehensive Program Secure Lviv Oblast for 2021–2025.
Rivne region
The RMA reported that a motorcycle, chainsaw, wood, fishing nets and other confiscated items were handed over to the security and defense forces from the region last month for the needs of the law enforcement agencies.
Ternopil oblast
Report on assistance to victims of the russian strike on 19 November for 1 December:
- 10 families live in temporary housing provided
- The commission inspected 385 damaged apartments to obtain compensation from the state for the affected Ternopil residents.
- Another 30 windows were installed, bringing the total to 489. In total, over a thousand windows need to be installed, which will be purchased with city funds. The lighting in the stairwells has been repaired, and garbage has been removed.
- 97 owners of apartments that are uninhabitable received financial assistance of UAH 15,000 each for renting housing. These are monthly payments that families will receive until they receive funds from the state for housing compensation or until appropriate repairs are made to the entrances and apartments. In addition, 110 owners of partially damaged apartments will receive UAH 10,000 each.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
In November, Khmelnytskyi community donated over 150 different quadcopters and aircraft, as well as electronic warfare systems worth almost UAH 40m. Over UAH 77m was also allocated for direct financing of the Defense Forces.
Chernivtsi oblast
Chernivtsi City Council approved the installation of a memorial plaque on the facade of Chernivtsi Philosophical and Legal Lyceum №2 to the fallen soldier Anatolіі Rus.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian President, and Olena Zelenska, the First Lady, have arrived in Ireland. Earlier, the Ukrainian President announced that a Ukrainian delegation would fly to Dublin to discuss the results of negotiations with the United States on a peace plan.
Italy has announced its 12th military aid package to Ukraine. It involves the free transfer of military equipment, materials, and equipment to Ukraine. However, the content of the aid package is not disclosed.
