In the occupied Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk, contractors do not pay construction workers. Sometimes they pay the promised salary with a delay of several months if the person is still working by the specified time. This applies to both local mercenaries and those who have come from russia to earn extra money. There is nowhere to complain, as mobile communications in frontline towns are switched off. The occupation administration of these settlements is aware of the problem, but does not intervene.
Also russians take residents of Sievierodonetsk “to the basement” for trying to take photos or videos with their mobile phones. People who have evacuated the oblast receive calls from the occupied territory reminding them that the surviving housing in the so-called lpr will be “nationalised” by the russians within 30 days of their discovery. For instance, an entire street in Kreminna burned down and rescuers did not even arrive.
