It has been the 1134 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

There were 133 combat engagements in the frontline. Our defenders are stopping the enemy, holding the line and disrupting the russians’ plans. At the same time, the occupants continue to focus their efforts towards Pokrovsk, Toretsk and Kursk.  

Today, russian artillery shelling affected Kucherivka, Prokhody, Novodmitrivka, Mykhailivka and Popivka in Sumy oblast. Turia, Uhroidy, Mykhailivske, Petrushivka and Miropilske in Sumy oblast came under air strikes.  

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy has made four attempts to advance towards our positions near Zahryzove and Nova Kruhliakivka, three of which were successfully repelled by Ukrainian defenders, and one firefight is ongoing.  

The aggressor attacked the positions of our troops 15 times towards Lyman, near the settlements of Novoiehorivka, Novoliubivka, Kolodiazi, Yampolivka and Dibrova, seven firefights are currently ongoing.  

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy did not conduct any active operations since the beginning of the day.

Towards Siversk, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled five hostile assault attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhnekamianske.

Towards Kramatorsk, our defenders successfully repelled six enemy attacks in the area of Chasiv Yar and in the direction of Novomarkove, Stupochki and Predtechyne.  

Towards Toretsk, the enemy attacked the positions of our troops 21 times in the areas of Toretsk, Ozarianivka, Dyliivka, Krymske and Leonidivka. Six firefights are still ongoing.  

The enemy is still highly active towards Pokrovsk. Forty-six clashes of varying intensity started here today. Ukrainian troops repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Panteleimonovka, Sukha Balka, Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Zelene, Novy Trud, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Uspenivka and Andriivka. Ukrainian defenders are giving the occupier a worthy rebuff, and the fighting continues.

The occupiers tried to break through seven times in the direction of Rozlyv, Dniproenerhiia, Vesele and in the area of Burlatske towards Novopavlivka, but were stopped by our defenders.

Towards Huliaipole, the aggressor launched air strikes in the areas of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novodarivka and Novopole with unguided aerial missiles, and dropped unmanned aerial vehicles on Velyka Mykhailivka and Komyshuvakha. In addition, the Defence Forces successfully repelled five enemy attacks in the area of Pryvilne and Novosilka.  

Fighting continues near Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky and Kamianske towards Orikhiv, with the enemy advancing ten times today.  

Towards Kherson, the enemy unsuccessfully stormed the positions of our defenders twice.  

Towards Kursk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 invaders’ attacks, and four more combat engagements are ongoing. In addition, the enemy launched two air strikes using three guided bombs.  

Ukrainian troops are depleting the enemy along the entire frontline and in the rear.  

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Frontline

The RMA reported that seven firefights took place towards Kharkiv yesterday near Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe, Kamianka and Lyptsi.

Towards Kupiansk, 11 enemy attacks took place yesterday. The defence forces repelled the enemy’s assault in the areas of Pishchane, Stepova Novoselivka, Nova Kruhliakivka and Zahryzove.

Attacks

2 April

At 1:33am, in Kharkiv, as a result of a Shahed UAV hitting the garden of a private household, the roof and window glazing of a private house were damaged, as well as an outbuilding and a car. A 48-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction.

At 12:5am, in Kharkiv the explosion smashed windows and doors. A 40-year-old woman and a 9-month-old child were injured and diagnosed with an acute stress reaction.

At 12:28am, in Kharkiv, as a result of shelling, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of an industrial building over an area of 800m² caught on fire. 20 households located next to the industrial buildings were damaged.

At 12:28am, in Kharkiv, as a result of the shelling, the roof of a production building over an area of 1000m² was on fire, and equipment in a workshop over an area of 70m² was on fire.

1 April

At 11:35pm, in Zlatopil, as a result of the fall of a UAV of the Shahed type on the open territory, the UAV wreckage burned on the area of 2m². The glazing of windows in two private houses was damaged.

At 6:29pm, russian aviation struck with three UAVs on the outskirts of Udy, Duvanka and Baranivka villages, Bohodukhiv region.

At 2:44pm, in Prudyanka village, there was a shelling with MLRS. The shelling damaged the windows of a private house.

At 2:44pm, in Kindrashivka, a house caught fire after a shelling.

At 12:28pm, in Velyka Babka village, an unidentified UAV of unknown type was spotted in an open area in the field.


Other

In Izium, a 62-year-old man found an unknown object, brought it home and began to disassemble it.

The device detonated. As a result of the explosion, the man was seriously injured, and doctors amputated his right hand.

Since August 2022, almost 59,000 people have been evacuated in Kharkiv oblast, including 6,381 children and 1,265 people with disabilities.

Donetsk oblast

Frontline

The russian army has again launched an offensive towards Siversk. Yesterday the occupiers increased the number of attacks in this area of the frontline five times compared to the previous day: they attacked 15 times near Bilohorivka, Ivan-Darivka, and towards Verkhnokamianske and Serebrianka. The General Staff reported that yesterday there were three attacks.

The largest number of engagements was recorded in the direction of Pokrovsk over the day. Ukrainian troops repelled 64 assaults, including near Kalynove, Tarasivka, Oleksandropil, Sribne, Lysivka, Udachne, and in the direction of Bohdanivka and Romanivka.

Anastasiia Blyshchyk, Spokesperson for the 66th Separate Brigade, stated that over the past two months, the russian occupiers have been increasing their pressure towards Lyman and redeploying units from other areas. They are promptly replenishing their losses and have the resources to continue actively advancing in the area.


Attacks

Andrii Pankov, Head of the CMA, reported that at around 5am, russian troops shelled Druzhkivka community. The private sector of Kurtivka and Torske villages, as well as the Gornyk neighbourhood in Druzhkivka, were hit.

Yesterday the police recorded 3,088 enemy attacks on the frontline and residential areas. The enemy attacked 9 settlements: Bilytske, Kostiantynivka, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, Yampil, Illinivka, Krasnyi Lyman and Oleksandro-Kalynove. 79 civilian objects were destroyed, including 69 residential buildings.

In Pokrovsk, russians killed a civilian and wounded another. An apartment building was damaged.

The occupiers shelled Krasnyi Lyman in Pokrovsk region with artillery, killing a civilian and damaging a private house.

Russia dropped a FAB-250 bomb on Oleksandro-Kalynove, causing a casualty and damaging 16 private houses, a shop and a non-residential building.

Another bomb exploded in Illinivka, injuring a man and damaging 19 private houses.

Russian troops struck Kostiantynivka with three FAB-250 bombs, damaging 1 apartment building and 8 private houses.

In Lyman, 18 houses were damaged as a result of a bomb attack. In Yampil, a private house and an outbuilding were damaged.

The enemy directed a FAB-250 bomb at Bilytske, destroying an apartment building, three private houses and a dormitory.  The administrative building in Rodynske was damaged.

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday, the enemy focused on  Siversk axis, where they conducted 15 attacks. In Luhansk oblast – in Bilohorivka. According to RMA, the russians used 191 unmanned aerial vehicles in this area. They received artillery support 15 times.

The invaders want to dismantle 50 apartment buildings in Siverskodonetsk. We are talking about the old districts of the city. Namely, several blocks covering an area slightly larger than 1 sq km. Following Lysychansk, a planning project for a part of the settlement was presented there, which allegedly provides for further housing construction. However, no money has yet been allocated for the project. Nor have the deadlines been set.

Meanwhile, the townspeople still remain isolated even from the outside world, called the “lpr”. Siverskodonetsk has no mobile phone or internet connection. For some time now, there has been a customer service centre of one of the telecommunications operators in the town. However, the occupation authorities do not allow the use of services.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The KCMA reported that no air alert was declared in the capital on 1 April. No threat from the air was recorded.

In March, three people were killed, including a 5-year-old child, ten residents of the capital wounded, eight buildings and six cars damaged as a result of enemy strikes on Kyiv. The air alert was declared 35 times during the month. Eleven attacks using enemy combat UAVs were recorded.

Three years ago, on 2 April 2022, the Ukrainian Defence Forces liberated Kyiv oblast from russian troops. According to the RMA, in February-March 2022, the russian military occupied 270 settlements in the oblast, with 65% of territorial communities affected by air and missile strikes. About 27 thousand objects were damaged: 1702 multi-storey buildings; 22417 private houses; 141 school; 83 kindergartens; 122 healthcare facilities; 137 cultural and religious buildings; 10 social security institutions; 725 life support facilities.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstusis Budrys arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday. He met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They discussed the continuation of defence and security support for Ukraine, joint production of drones, strengthening of EU sanctions against russia, and opening as many negotiating clusters as possible for Ukraine’s association with the EU this year.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock arrived in Kyiv on 1 April. This is her ninth visit to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale russian invasion. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock.

The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, announced that a special micro-clinic for prosthetics will be set up at the Kyiv Regional Hospital. It will be opened with the financial support of France. The medical facility will be equipped with high-tech equipment for the manufacture of individual prostheses. As a result, people who have lost their limbs will be able to receive prostheses adapted to their needs.

The instructors of the Kyiv Regional Centre of National Resistance, veterans with combat experience, have successfully completed a training course and received their first state certificates. The course was developed by the Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Territorial Defense Forces in cooperation with military universities in Odesa and Lviv. The programme includes 90 hours of training in teaching methods to effectively transfer knowledge to a wide audience.

In 2024, the Kyiv Regional Centre for Preparing the Population for National Resistance trained more than 3,000 residents of the oblast. The main disciplines include tactical and firearms training, tactical medicine, UAV operations, and engineering.

The Kyiv Oblast State Emergency Service reported that in Boryspil district, rescuers practised emergency response in a shopping mall to hone their operational skills and interaction with employees in the face of martial law threats. According to the training scenario, the wreckage of a downed enemy UAV fell and caused a mock ‘fire’, followed by the ‘burning’ of the 1st floor and the roof. 

Zhytomyr oblast

The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Zhytomyr Military Institute named after S.P. Korolyov. Under the memorandum, the military institute and Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration plan to hold special courses for school and lyceum students, train territorial defence officers, and expand the curriculum on the subject of ‘Defence of Ukraine’.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Council reported that one of the injured from the russian missile strike on Sumy on 24 March has died in hospital. The victim was a man born in 1948.

The Regional Military Administration informed that during the night and morning, russian forces carried out 32 shellings of border areas and settlements in Sumy oblast. A total of 89 explosions were recorded. Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, and Shalyhyne communities came under fire.

Throughout 1 April, russian forces carried out 62 shellings in Sumy oblast, with a total of 94 strikes recorded. The enemy used mortars (24 explosions), artillery (18 explosions), tank shelling (3 explosions), FPV-drone attacks (9 explosions), launched guided aerial bombs (26 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (14 explosions). Seven communities came under enemy fire: Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhyne, and Seredyna-Buda.

According to the Regional Military Administration, as of April 2025, all civilian residents have been evacuated from 48 settlements in Sumy oblast. A total of 47,500 residents from border areas have been relocated to safer locations, including 7,635 children. The largest number of people were moved from Krasnopillia.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv Border Detachment reported that throughout 1 April, russian forces attacked two border communities in Chernihiv oblast. A total of 52 explosions were recorded. In the area of Mykhalchyna Sloboda village in Novhorod-Siverskyi community, the enemy dropped two explosive devices from UAVs. In Semenivka community, they attacked the areas Zarichchia villages, Tymonovychi, and Yanzhulivka, carrying out 16 strikes by barrel artillery and 34 strikes by mortars.

Valentina Luhova, Director of the Department of Social Protection of the Regional State Administration informed that due to the full-scale invasion, border communities in Chernihiv oblast are facing a shortage of social sector specialists. The most significant lack of workers is in Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk communities, where there is an insufficient number of social workers, specialists in social services, and psychologists.

In 2025, five communities in Chernihiv oblast will open resilience centres. These include Honcharivske, Kulykivka, Bobrovytsia, Mena, and Nova Basan territorial communities. The centres will provide consultations on various social issues and offer psychological support. Similar centres are already operating in nine other communities in the oblast.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

From evening until night, the occupiers were shelling Nikopol region with artillery and drones. They targeted the district centre and the Marhanets community. A 48-year-old woman was injured. She received the necessary medical care. A private house, an outbuilding and a greenhouse were damaged.

Air defence forces were working. The defenders of the sky shot down an enemy UAV over the region.

Four people died as a result of a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih. Nine people were injured. An enterprise was damaged. Cars were on fire. High-rise buildings were also hit. The invaders also carried out about three dozen attacks in Nikopol region during the day. They targeted the district centre, Pokrovsk and Marhanets communities. A 51-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman were injured. They received the necessary medical care. Enterprises, 3 private houses, 2 outbuildings and 3 cars were damaged. Velyka Mykhailivka community of Synelnykove region came under hostile attack. 5 private houses were damaged. The enemy attacked Novopavlivska community with an unidentified aerial vehicle. A woman of 56 years old was injured. A private house was damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

​Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that 400 FPV drones were sent to the front line to support two brigades from Vinnytsia oblast.  Along with them, 300 more trench candles and fire starters were made for the soldiers by pupils of local teenage clubs. This is the 23rd delivery to the 120th TRO Brigade and the 20th to the 59th Separate Assault Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk.

Kirovohrad oblast

On 1 April, people paid a tribute to 44-year-old soldier Oleksii Sopov in Oleksandriia, Kirovohrad oblast. He had been missing for a year and four months. The soldier was killed while performing a combat mission in Donetsk oblast.

Poltava oblast

Kateryna Yamshchikova, Secretary of the City Council, stated that the multi-storey building at 7 Balenka Street in Poltava, which was partially destroyed by a missile strike on 1 February 2025, is to be reconstructed with partial dismantling. Residents of the building have asked the city council to organise the overhaul immediately. The work plan will be discussed with the residents in the near future.

A soldier from Poltava oblast, Serhii Kiiashko, received the Cross of the Brave badge from the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi. Commander Serhii Koriachok was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, III class. He is currently serving with the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Major General Marko Bezruchko.

In Poltava oblast, people are saying goodbye to the defenders. These are Viktor Riznyk, who was killed on 22 March 2025 as a result of a small arms battle. And Anton Konanov was killed on 28 March 2025 while performing a combat mission. It happened near Oleshnia village in Kursk oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Myklashchuk, Head of Uman Regional Military Administration, reported that according to a decree of the President of Ukraine, two fallen defenders from Uman region were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III class. These are Vasyl Kolomiets and Ihor Chaplinskyi. The awards were presented to their families.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

One person was killed and two others were injured as a result of an enemy strike on Malokaterynivka. In total, the occupiers carried out 459 attacks on nine settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast over the past day. russian forces launched five airstrikes on Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, and Shcherbaky. 277 UAVs of various types attacked Malokaterynivka, Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. Five MLRS attacks targeted Kamianske, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodarivka. Additionally, 172 artillery strikes hit Kamianske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, and Novodarivka. There were 26 reports of damage to private houses, apartments, and vehicles.

Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled five enemy attacks in the areas of Pryvilne and Novosilka towards Huliaipole. Fighting continues near the settlements of Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, and Kamianske towards Orikhiv, with russian forces attempting to advance on Ukrainian positions ten times today.

The occupying authorities granted russian military personnel priority rights to register real estate in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia oblast. Berdiansk City Military Administration stated that this decision is an attempt by russia to strengthen its control over the temporarily occupied cities of the region.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, on 1 April, the enemy attacked the waters of Ochakiv community twice with FPV drones and struck the city of Ochakiv twice. Additionally, russian forces carried out three artillery strikes and, at 16:00, attacked Kutsurub community with an FPV drone. There were no casualties.

Odesa oblast

During the night of 2 April, кussia attacked Odesa щидфіе with drones. As a result, residential and utilityl infrastructure in the settlements of Khlibodarske and Radisne was damaged.

According to the  “South” Air Command, mobile fire groups of the Odesa brigade shot down ten drones.

As of 6:00 am on 2 April, two enemy carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles were in the Black Sea, with a total salvo capacity of up to 8 missiles. There were four enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including three carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 26 missiles.

Over the past day, 4 vessels passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea in russia’s interests, while 6 more ships entered the Sea of Azov.

Kherson oblast

Around 5:30 pm, russian forces dropped an explosive from a drone on a civilian in Tsentralnyi district of Kherson. A 64-year-old man was injured in the attack and was taken to the hospital with blast trauma.

At approximately 9 am, russian forces attacked Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with UAVs. Two men, aged 35 and 33, sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to their limbs.

A resident of Antonivka sought medical assistance after being hit by a russian strike on 25 March. The 42-year-old man suffered blast trauma and a concussion.

Over the past day, russian shelling and airstrikes targeted multiple settlements, including Beryslav, Novoberyslav, Mykilske, Bilozerka, Sofiiivka, Shyroka Balka, Stanislav, Zolota Balka, Novooleksandrivka, Dudchany, Tiahynka, Burhunka, Lvove, Virivka, Mykolaivka, Chornobaivka, Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Nadezhdivka, Komyshany, Romashkove, Blahovishchenske, Oleksandrivka, Vesele, Dniprovske, Zmiivka, Kachkarivka, Kizomys, Kozatske, Mykhailivka, Monastyrske, Naddniprianske, Osokorivka, Poniativka, Tokarivka, Shliakhove, and the city of Kherson. The attacks damaged two apartment buildings, ten private houses, and private vehicles. One person was killed and nine others were injured due to russian aggression.

Law enforcement officers, together with volunteers from the “East SOS” charity fund, conducted a rescue operation in Sablukivka. Thanks to coordinated efforts, two elderly residents were evacuated from the village and provided with necessary assistance.

Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy attacks on Prydniprovskyi front. Over the past day, russian losses amounted to 103 soldiers, nine artillery systems, two electronic warfare systems, ten vehicles and armored vehicles, three motorcycles, one boat, one quad bike, one observation post, eight “Starlink” antennas, three UAV control antennas, six communication antennas, one generator, one “Zala” UAV, and two “Supercam” UAVs. 71 shelters/dugouts and one firing position were destroyed.

Volyn oblast

The RMA held an online meeting with a delegation from Toulouse. They discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of medicine, education, social services, culture, and innovation.

Zakarpattia oblast

A Children’s Mental Health Center will be created and equipped this year on the basis of Zakarpattia Regional Children’s Hospital in Mukachevo. The Caritas of the Czech Republic CF planned to allocate about EUR 80,000 for construction work and furnishing the premises with furniture.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk community sent 50 FPV drones to the 128th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade Wild Field thanks to the budget.

Lviv oblast

200 participants joined the charity run in Lviv oblast in support of the Take the Next Step Ukrainian military and covered a total of 1000 km. Each kilometer is 10 UAH for the rehabilitation of the military at the Next Step Ukraine center.

Lviv sent 15 ATVs and 15 cars to the 93rd Separate Mechanized brigade Kholodnyi Yar, which performs combat missions in the hottest areas of the front thanks to the Norwegian organization Fritt Ukraina, a Danish benefactor, the Meest Express company and Lviv City Hall.

For the 1st time in Ukraine, soldiers with amputees entered the ring. The fight took place in Lviv oblast at a charity evening of professional boxing – between fighters of Oleksandr Mamontov, soldier of the 10th Mobile Border Detachment Dozor of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and Oleksandr Musiy, soldier of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that the military received for the 1st quarter 6 cars, 7 pieces of office equipment, 18 cubic meters of wood.

Ternopil oblast

Veterans and their wives received business development certificates from Ternopil City Council. 7 projects will receive funding for a total of UAH 1,024,216.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi City Council increased spending on the Families of Heroes program. They voted to pay 50% of the cost of training for 45 more combatants.

Khmelnytskyi community sent 2 powerful electronic warfare and electronic warfare systems, along with SUVs, worth almost UAH 5,7m to one of the Defense Forces units thanks to the budget.

Chernivtsi oblast

A delegation from Romania, led by Ovidiu Oltean, Mayor of Teureni community, Mures county, visited Chernivtsi. They discussed the possibilities of involving Chernivtsi in international cooperation in the field of waste processing.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Andris Spruds, Defense Minister of Latvia, announced that the country sent 1,500 combat drones to Ukraine.

The US introduced new sanctions against russian citizens and russian companies. In total, restrictions were imposed on 5 individuals and 3 legal entities, as well as one dry cargo ship. The formal reason for the sanctions is countering terrorism, but all those on the new list are involved in the theft of grain from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and its supply to the Houthis in Yemen.

Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with Johanna Mikl-Leitner, Head of the Federal State of Lower Austria, member of the ruling Austrian People’s Party, who was visiting Ukraine together with representatives of 40 Austrian companies. They discussed the security situation in Ukraine and the efforts of all partners to bring about a just and sustainable peace.
