What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

The enemy continues its attempts to advance deep into the territory of Ukraine. The defense forces are holding back the enemy, inflicting significant losses on various sections of the front.

On 15 February, the number of enemy attacks reached 129.

The shelling of border areas continues. In Sumy oblast, the following settlements were affected: Rohizne, Ryzhivka, Prohres, Bachivsk, Iskryskivshchyna, Budky, Kucherivka, Kruzhok, and Novovasylivka. In Chernihiv oblast: Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Buchki, Lyskivshchyna, Plyokhiv, and Yasna Poliana.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the enemy carried out 78 attacks on settlements and positions of Ukrainian units, two of which were using MLRS.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy attacked twice near Veterinarne and Vovchanski Khutory. Currently, there are no enemy attempts to improve their positions.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy once tried to advance in the vicinity of ​​Pishchane.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian soldiers repelled two attempts by the invaders to advance near Stavky and Drobysheve.

Towards Slaviansk, the invaders tried four times to advance on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Yampol, Zakitne, Kryva Luka and Rai-Oleksandrivka. Two clashes are ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, there were no enemy offensive actions.

Towards Kostiantynivka, the invaders carried out 26 offensive actions near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Mykolaipyl, Novopavlivka, Stepanivka and Sofiivka. One attack is ongoing.

Towards Pokrovsk, the invaders have made 43 attempts to push Ukrainian soldiers out of the occupied positions in the vicinity of Kucherovyi Yar, Bilytske, Zatyshok, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne, Novopavlivka, Novomykolaivka, Filiia and Dachne. The defense forces are holding back the enemy, 39 attacks were stopped.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy advanced 15 times in the vicinity of Zelenyi Hai, Ivanivka, Oleksandrivka, Yehorivka, Vyshneve, Oleksiivka, Verbove, Stepove, Danylovka and Nove Zaporizhzhia. The Novoukrainka and Velykymykhailivka areas were subjected to airstrikes.

Towards Huliaipole, there were 25 attacks near Huliaipole, Dobropillia, Uspenivka, Varvarivka, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, and Zelene. Ten assaults are still ongoing. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the vicinity of Kamianka, Verkhnia Tersa, Kinski Rozdory, ​​Hulyaipil, Zaliznychne, Hryhorivka and Dolynka.

Towards Orikhiv, the occupiers tried to attack 11 times. There were clashes near Stepnohirsk, Pavlivka, Lukianivka and Shcherbaky. Two attacks are ongoing.

Towards Kherson, there were no active offensive actions.

In other areas, there were no significant changes in the situation.

Ukrainian troops are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of combat contact and in the rear.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Towards Southern Sloboda, the occupier attacked twice near the settlements of Veterinarne and Vovchanski Khutory. Currently, there are no attempts by the enemy to improve their positions.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian federation tried to advance once in the vicinity of ​​Pishchane.

There were 218 combat clashes in the oblast.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy tried 15 times to break through the defensive lines of Ukrainian defenders, in the vicinity of the settlements of Prylipka, Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, Vovchansk, Lyman, Okhrimivka, Zybyne, and Mala Vovcha.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy carried out two attacks in the vicinity of Bohuslavka and Pishchane.

A 22-year-old man was injured as a result of shelling in the village of Fesky, Zolochiv community.

Also, doctors provided assistance to a 60-year-old woman who was injured as a result of shelling in the village of Zolochiv on February 11.

The enemy actively used various types of weapons:

▪️6 UAVs of the Geran-2 type;

▪️1 UAV of the Molniya type;

▪️1 FPV drone;

▪️3 UAVs (type is being determined).

Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

▪️In Bohodukhiv region, three private houses, outbuildings, power grids (Klynova Novoselivka village), a tractor (Baranivka village), a private house (Zolochiv village) were damaged;

▪️In Kupiansk region, 2 private houses were damaged (Prykolotne village);

▪️In Kharkiv region, a car (Nova Kozacha village), a car, and agricultural machinery (Derhachi city) were damaged.

The transit evacuation point in Lozova accepted 142 people. A total of 18,953 people have been registered at the Point since it began operating.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that the russian army conducted 59 assaults towards Pokrovsk: near Zatyshok, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Dachne, Vilne, Bilytske, Nove Shakhove, Shevchenko, Novooleksandrivka, Serhiivka, and Ivanivka. 

Towards Kostiantynivka, the Defense Forces repelled 13 assaults, and there were more attacks towards Lyman and Sloviansk.

The defense forces attacked a repair unit of the russian army in the vicinity of ​​temporarily occupied Vilne. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the consequences of the hit and the losses of the russian troops are being clarified.

Roman Kapinus, a fighter of the 54th Motorized Rifle Brigade, says that towards Slaviansk, the russian army is storming in small groups of infantry and looking for weak points of the Ukrainian military’s defense. The nature of the fighting is also influenced by the recent disconnection of russian troops from Starlink terminals.

On February 14, there were 1,271 enemy strikes on the front line and residential sector of the region.

5 settlements were under fire: the cities of Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, the villages of Bylbasivka and Raihorodok.

33 civilian objects were destroyed, including 25 residential buildings.

In Bylbasivka, russians hit a Geran-2 UAV – two civilians were injured, including a child. 12 private houses and 3 civilian cars were damaged.

In Sloviansk, 12 private houses were also damaged as a result of the Geran-2 UAV strike.

In Kramatorsk, russian troops attacked with an FPV drone and a Molniya-2 UAV – an apartment building, an administrative building, a garage, and a car were damaged.

In Raihorodok, an enemy FPV drone damaged a civilian car.

Yevhen Tkachev, a representative of the Proliska humanitarian mission in Donetsk oblast, says that during the week, the number of applications to leave front-line cities and villages in the Donetsk region almost doubled. The largest number of people are being evacuated from Druzhkivka, Mykolaivka, Oleksiivo-Druzhkivka, as well as from Kramatorsk.

Luhansk oblast

The villages of Luhansk oblast, located near the line of combat contact, were shelled by the invaders with mortars and grenade launchers. Drones were actively used near Hrekivka. In total, the enemy stormed 23 times towards Lyman and Sloviansk.

In the so-called “lpr”, farmers were ordered to give at least 30% of their diesel fuel reserves for war needs. A similar decision was made regarding local industrial enterprises. The occupation administration comments on this by the lack of diesel fuel in the units of the russian army operating in the territory of Luhansk oblast.

In Lutuhyne, the invaders failed to purchase passenger transportation services. The tender was announced in January, but no offers have been received during this time. So now, residents of small settlements in the community are left without the opportunity to use regular buses. Any travel is only possible by your own transport or by taxi.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

LLC Euro-Rekonstruktsiya reports that at Darnytsia CHPP, which was significantly damaged on February 3 as a result of Russian shelling, the dismantling of the rubble is ongoing, but restoration processes have begun in parallel. The entire staff has been saved, they receive salaries. The exact timing of the reconstruction is unknown. In total, since February 2022, the station has suffered almost 20 strikes by the russian federation.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko says that over the past 24 hours, heating has been restored in 1,100 more high-rise buildings in Kyiv. In total, heat has been restored to 1,500 homes out of 2,600 that were left without heat as a result of the enemy’s attack on Kyiv’s infrastructure on February 12.

Chernobyl NPP specialists are helping restore Kyiv’s critical infrastructure. Since February 6, emergency repair teams of the specialists have been involved in eliminating the consequences of russian attacks on Kyiv’s critical infrastructure, which caused disruptions to electricity, heat, and water supply, as well as drainage in the capital.

Kyiv City State Administration Deputy Chairman Petro Panteleyev reports that Kyiv City Council decided to create a non-profit enterprise Energy Security Service. For this purpose, one of the utility companies will be reorganized and this will not require additional funds. The service will be the only responsible operator that will form and maintain the generator fund, ensure their accounting, preservation and readiness for work, and also promptly deploy generators at facilities that have been flooded without electricity.

Kyiv Regional Center for Training the Population for National Resistance invites residents of the oblast to a basic course that starts on February 21. As reported by the RMA, this is training conducted by professional military personnel, veterans of legendary units. The basis of the course is real combat experience. Participation is free. The course duration is 4 weeks. Training will be conducted only on weekends. Classes will last 6-8 hours.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine and UNICEF have opened spaces in Kyiv for children, adolescents and their families in mobile invincibility points. During power outages, you can warm up at the points, get help from State Emergency Service psychologists, and attend useful classes for adolescents. There are also games and creativity for kids.

Zhytomyr oblast

 Zhytomyroblenrho reported that on February 15, hourly power outage schedules will be in effect in Zhytomyr oblast. Depending on the current situation in the power system, the schedules may change. In addition, power restrictions for industrial consumers will be in effect from 00:00 to 24:00.

Oksana Krytenko, Advisor to the Head of the Zhytomyr Military Institute on Gender Issues, says that Zhytomyr Military Institute named after S.P. Korolev became the first among military higher educational institutions of Ukraine to launch the School of Leaders for female cadets. The project is called “School of Leaders: Opportunities for Transformation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine”. The School of Leaders is implemented through the public organization “Synergy of Changes” with the support of the Government of Canada and the Ukrainian Women’s Fund.

Sumy oblast

 On the morning of 15 February the Regional Military Administration reported that for the second time in a week, russian forces have carried out targeted strikes on healthcare facilities. The enemy attacked medical infrastructure in Kovpakivka region of Sumy community by a UAV. Damage has been recorded. The area is being inspected and the full extent of the consequences is being clarified.

Sumy Regional Military Administration informed that a 56-year-old woman from Myropillia community, who was injured on 6 February in an enemy UAV attack, sought medical assistance.

Over the course of the day, from the morning of 14 February to the morning of 15 February, russian forces carried out nearly 20 attacks on 11 settlements across nine territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 11 hours and 56 minutes over the day.

Civilian infrastructure was damaged or destroyed:

  • In Velyka Pysarivka community, a private household was damaged;
  • In Shostka community, a non-residential building was damaged;
  • In Seredyna-Buda community, a private residential house was destroyed.

Over the day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police, and public organisations, evacuated two people from border communities.

Chernihiv oblast

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration reported that on the afternoon of 15 February, russian forces struck an enterprise in Semenivka by a fibre-optic FPV drone. A Gazelle vehicle was damaged in the explosion.

Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi RMA, said that on the morning of 15 February, russian forces twice attacked civilian infrastructure in Semenivka by Molniya strike UAVs. One of the drones hit a private residential house.

According to Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, over the course of 14 February, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Horodnia communities. The enemy carried out mortar shelling (16 explosions), tube artillery strikes (10 explosions), launched Shahed-type UAVs (2 explosions) and FPV drone strikes (6 explosions). Five settlements came under enemy fire.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that occupying forces attacked the regional centre, Marhanets and Pokrovske rural communities by artillery and drones.

A 40-year-old man was injured. Fires broke out and vehicles caught fire. According to updated information, three 59-year-old women were injured as a result of a drone strike in Pokrovske community the previous day. A house and a car were damaged.

In Pokrovske community, a 13-year-old girl was injured following a guided aerial bomb (KAB) strike. Private residential houses were damaged. Updated reports also confirm that a 60-year-old man was injured in Mezhova community as a result of previous attacks.

Poltava oblast

Senior Soldier Oleksandr Shevnikov was killed while carrying out a combat mission towards Sumy. He was 35 years old and lived in Lubny region of Poltava oblast. He joined the Armed Forces in December 2024 and served as a senior gunner in a mortar battery. Residents paid tribute to the serviceman in Lubny.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy, a rally titled “Do Not Be Silent — Captivity Kills” took place. Participants joined a nationwide initiative marking Valentine’s Day and carried heart-shaped balloons symbolising love for relatives who are currently considered missing in action or held in captivity.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On the night of 15 February, russian troops struck Zaporizhzhia with a Shahed drone. According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, 21 buildings were damaged. Three people were injured.

Also today, 15 February, russian forces attacked Zarichne in Zaporizhzhia region with guided aerial bombs. Apartment and private houses were damaged, and a fire broke out. Two people were injured.

According to Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, yesterday, 14 February, the occupiers carried out 658 strikes on 33 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 28 air strikes on Veselianka, Yuliivka, Trudove, Samiilivka, Lisne, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Voskresenka, Vozdvyzhivka, Bilohiria, Verkhnia Tersa, Hirske, and Preobrazhenka. 351 UAVs of various types (mostly FPV drones) attacked Zaporizhzhia, Novomykolaivka, Komyshuvakha, Bilenke, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Dorozhnianka, Varvarivka, Zelene, Rybne, Dobropillia, and Pryluky. Five MLRS strikes hit Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, and Rybne. 274 artillery strikes targeted Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Dorozhnianka, Varvarivka, Zelene, Rybne, Dobropillia, and Pryluky. Authorities received 37 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities. One person was killed, and seven others were injured as a result of enemy attacks in Zaporizhzhia city, Zaporizhzhia, and Polohy regions.

The General Staff reported that as of 16:00 on 15 February, there had been 25 attacks in the areas of Huliaipole, Dobropillia, Uspenivka, Varvarivka, Pryluky, Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, and Zelene towards Huliaipole. Ten assaults were still ongoing. The occupiers attempted 11 attacks towards Orikhiv. Clashes took place in near Stepnohirsk, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, and Shcherbaky. Two attacks were ongoing.

Over the past day, 14 February, the Defense Forces struck russian troops in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian forces hit an area where russian troops were concentrated near Liubymivka. russian losses and the extent of the damage are being clarified.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that during the night and morning of 15 February, four Shahed 131/136 attack drones and various types of decoy drones were shot down or suppressed over Mykolaiv oblast.

Today, 15 February, commemorative events were held in Mykolaiv oblast to honor fallen Ukrainian defenders and to remind people about those held in russian captivity. In central Mykolaiv, around 40 people joined the traditional minute of silence. A weekly rally was also held in Mykolaiv to remind the public about prisoners of war and those missing in action. Despite the rain, 100 people came with posters and flags. A weekly awareness event about missing persons and prisoners of war took place in Pivdennoukrainsk. The event began at 09:00 with a traditional road blockage for a minute of silence. Around 45 people participated in the gathering with posters and flags.

Odesa oblast

Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that on the night of 15 February, the enemy carried out a massive attack on Odesa oblast using strike drones. Most of the enemy targets were shot down by air defense forces; however, as a result of direct hits and falling debris, civilian and transport infrastructure were damaged. An abandoned one-story building and administrative facilities at a railway station were damaged in Odesa district. A railway tank car was also struck again, causing a fuel spill and fire. The fires were promptly extinguished.

The death toll from the drone attack on 27 January rose to five. According to the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, another victim—a man born in 1948—died in hospital on the night of 15 February.

Kherson oblast

Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that today, 15 February, two people were injured as a result of russian aggression. At around 12:30, russians attacked a 57-year-old Kherson resident with a drone in Dniprovskyi district of Kherson; he sustained a blast injury and shrapnel wounds to the head. At approximately 09:00, russian occupiers also attacked Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with a drone. A 38-year-old man suffered a concussion, shrapnel wounds to the face, and blast and closed traumatic brain injuries.

According to the RMA, yesterday, the russian forces attacked Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Bilozerka, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Sofiivka, Dariivka, Inhulets, Novotiahynka, Tokarivka, Beryslav, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Novokairy, Tiahynka, Chervonyi Maiak, Vysoke, Havrylivka, Vesele, and the city of Kherson. Two apartment buildings and six private houses were damaged. The occupiers also damaged a gas pipeline and private vehicles. As a result of russian aggression, two people were killed, and five others were injured.

The Southern Defense Forces reported that over the past day, Ukrainian units in the south eliminated 325 russian occupiers, struck nine UAV operator crews, two dugouts, 126 shelters, a storage site, three ammunition depots, one fuel depot, and 70 units of russian weapons and equipment. In addition, the Southern Defense Forces shot down 35 Shahed-136 attack drones. At the same time, they repelled one russian attack on positions located on Kruhlik Island towards Kherson.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Junior Sergeant Volodymyr Lavreniuk, 53-year-old serviceman from the village of Mylsk, Rozhyshchensk community, was killed on 11 February, 2026 while performing a combat mission in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

Zakarpattia oblast

Today, 31 Indestructibility Points are actively operating in the oblast. However, the network is much wider – a total of 459 such locations have been prepared. They are fully equipped and ready to be deployed as soon as possible, if necessary.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The reconstruction of the second stage of the rehabilitation department in Nadvirna community is underway. The total cost of the project is UAH 14.7m, of which UAH 12.2m is for the overhaul of the premises, including UAH 9m from the regional budget; UAH 2.5m is for the installation of an elevator. UAH 9m was allocated from the regional budget.

Lviv oblast

A regional office of the British Embassy has opened in Lviv. The office is headed by Svitlana Yavorska.

Rivne oblast

A Space for Caring for Veterans has been launched in Varasha. The space operates in Varash Multidisciplinary Hospital. It is fully accessible to people with various forms of injuries. It has created conditions for individual and group support, as well as equipped workplaces for specialists who will provide professional assistance.

Ternopil oblast

16 servicemen will receive funds in the amount of UAH 15,000 for treatment and rehabilitation. In 2025, 622 servicemen from Ternopil have already received such assistance.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi City Council allocated financial assistance for 469 Khmelnytskyi residents in the amount of almost UAH 6m. Among them are family members of the deceased, families of prisoners of war, and military personnel for rehabilitation and for their own needs.

Chernivtsi oblast

The cities of Alen and Teltow have donated two vehicles, fire equipment, and 17 generators to Khotyn community. The equipment will help utility workers maintain critical infrastructure, transport firewood and other necessary cargo.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President, met with Petr Pavel, Czech President. They discussed military support for Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian President, has received the Ewald von Kleist Prize, awarded to Ukrainians. This is an annual award of the Munich Security Conference, established in honor of its initiator, who participated in the plot against Adolf Hitler on 20 July, 1944.
