It has been the 597th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Kremlin terrorist forces cynically launched a rocket attack on a children’s art center in the center of Pokrovsk, Donetsk oblast. More than 20 civilians were injured as a result of the targeted shelling, and two administrative buildings partially destroyed.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains challenging.

There were 68 combat clashes over the day. The enemy launched 2 missile and 39 air strikes, fired 24 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The situation towards Volyn and Polissia remained unchanged. There were no signs of offensive groups forming. Certain units of the belarusian armed forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, continues shelling settlements from the territory of the russian federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. He carried out air strikes near the settlements of Leonivka and Hremyach in Chernihiv oblast; Popivka, Sumy region. More than 15 settlements, including Senkivka and Bleshnya in Chernihiv oblast, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling; Bachevsk, Vyshenky, Volfyno, Mogrytsia in Sumy oblast; Ternova, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops repelled 12 enemy attacks in the areas of Synkivka, Ivanivka and Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast. The enemy also conducted airstrikes here. More than 15 lsettlements, including Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Zakhidne, Kupiansk, Berestove in Kharkiv oblast, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy.

Towards Lyman, the enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Nevske, Novolyubivka, Bilohorivka, Serebrianka forestry in Luhansk oblast and Spirne in Donetsk oblast. At the same time, the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling affected about 15 settlements, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Dronivka, Vyymka and Fedorivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Bila Hora, Oleksandr-Shultyno and Niu York in Donetsk oblast. More than 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Minkivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Andriivka, Kurdiumivka in Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka, our defenders are bravely holding the line, repelling 10 enemy attacks near Avdiivka and more than 15 attacks in the areas of Keramika, Tonenke, Sievierne, Pervomaiske and Netailove in Donetsk oblast. Occupiers conducted airstrikes near Novokalynove and Avdiivka in Donetsk oblast. About 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Opytne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled about 10 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Maryinka, Donetsk oblast. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Marinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk oblast. About 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Antonivka, and Yelizavetivka in Donetsk oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation near Staromaiorske, Donetsk oblast. More than 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Urozhayne, Blahodatne in Donetsk oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to regain its lost position near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast. The occupants conducted an air strike near Novoandriivka, Zaporizhzhia oblast. More than 25 settlements, including Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia oblast, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Kherson, the occupants conducted airstrikes near the settlements of Kozatske, Odradokamyanka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Vysoke and Ulianovka in Kherson oblast. Beryslav, Sadove, Stanislav, Oleksandrivka and the regional center of Kherson region were subjected to hostile artillery and mortar attacks.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and offensive (assault) operations towards Bakhmut, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line. 

Aviation of the Defense Forces conducted 12 strikes on buildups of personnel, weapons and military equipment and the enemy’s bridge. Our defenders also destroyed a russian Su-25 fighter jet and an Orlan-10 tactical UAV.

Rocket troops struck a control center, a buildup of personnel, weapons and military equipment, the ammunition depot and the enemy’s electronic warfare station.


Viktor Vitovetskyi, Director of the Department of Civil Protection Organization of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, announces that currently, a unified database of shelters is being created. The official state database of shelters will differ from others in its content and verification. 

Yuriy Matsyk, Director of the Fixed Internet Development Department of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, states that 30% of fixed-line Internet subscribers are connected to PON-based networks, which are resistant to long-term power outages. It is known that in Kyiv, Rivne, Ternopil oblasts, as well as in Lviv, this figure is about 60%, and in Kyiv it is only 9%, which is a critical situation.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Illia Yevlash, Head of the press service of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that russians launched over 300 mortar attacks towards Lyman-Kupiansk. Also russian occupiers are also actively using artillery, multiple rocket launchers, tanks and grenade launchers. There were 623 hostile attacks yesterday. There were 12 air strikes and three attacks with Kamikaze drones.

There were 25 combat clashes in this sector of the frontline, during which 284 invaders were eliminated.

Two T-72 tanks, 4 combat vehicles, 5 Msta-S howitzers, 2 Acatsia self-propelled artillery systems, 3 D-20 cannons, a Rapira anti-tank gun, a Giatsint self-propelled gun, a Lancet UAV and 6 vehicles were destroyed.

The invaders accumulated more than 110K personnel, more than 1K tanks, nearly 2K armoured combat vehicles, more than 750 artillery systems and nearly 500 multiple launch rocket systems in this area.

Kharkiv oblast

Fierce fighting continues on the frontline. On October 12, russians attempted 4 attacks near Synkivka and 8 near Ivanivka. All the attacks were repelled and the enemy suffered losses.

The second mine explosion in two days occurred near Yavirske, Izium region: at around 11 am a petrol truck tripped over an explosive device, killing the driver. Yesterday afternoon, between Yavirske and Vovchiy Yar villages, a 47-year-old civilian man was injured in a field on an anti-personnel mine.

Yesterday settlements of Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions were under hostile shelling.

The enemy shelled Veterynarne of Kharkiv region, Vovchansk and Hatyshche of Chuhuiv region, Kamianka, Dvorichna, Ivanivka, Synkivka and Lyman Pershyi of Kupiansk region and other settlements with artillery and mortars. There were no casualties.

A 39-year-old civilian man was repairing his house and stepped on an unidentified explosive object at around 2:30 pm in Rubizhne village, Chuhuiv region. He was hospitalised with injuries.

Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined 14.9 hectares of the territory and defused 98 explosive ordnance.

The Regional Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that three people, who were reported missing after the russian federation hit a cafe in Hroza, were killed. The death toll has risen to 59 people, all of whom have been identified. Criminologist Nataliia Matviienko said that a third of them were identified through DNA testing. More than 300 such examinations were conducted.

Serhii Starikov, Head of Shevchenkove Military Administration, said that in Hroza village, residents said farewell to the youngest person killed in russian missile strike, 8-year-old Ivan Kozyr. His father Ihor, grandfather Anatolii and aunt Olha were buried along with Ivan. Ivan’s mother is in hospital, she was injured in the attack. As of 12 October, 44 of the deceased had already been buried.

Oleksandr Cherniaiev, Head of Artesian Water Supply Department of Kharkivvodokanal, said that water pumping stations in Kharkiv are 80% equipped with alternative power sources in case of blackouts. By the end of October, generators will be installed at all nine main stations in the city.

6 communities in Kharkiv region received new school buses. The vehicles were distributed among 9 educational institutions in Zachepylivka, Kehychivka, Natalyne, Sakhnovshchyna, Starovirivka and Krasnohrad communities.

Donetsk oblast

The enemy launched two Iskander missiles at Pokrovsk at around 8:30 am, hitting two administrative buildings. According to the press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the shelling killed a man, and among the 13 injured were eight employees of a government agency and two visitors. Three people were rescued from the rubble.

Vitalii Barabash, Head of Avdiivka City Military Administration, told about the fourth day of fighting for Avdiivka as russian troops are pressing on the city from several directions, trying to break through Ukrainian defences for the fourth day in a row and continue shelling the positions of the Defence Forces and the city itself with all available weapons and aircraft. Ukrainian forces continue to hold the line, the situation is difficult but under control.

The press service of Donetsk police reported that the invaders killed 3 people and injured 8 others yesterday. Police officers documented the aftermath of the shelling. And russian troops shelled 12 settlements: Avdiivka, Hirnyk, Kostiantynivka, Chasiv Yar cities, Komyshivka, Kurdiumivka settlements, Bahatyr, Berdychi, Halytsynivka, Kalynove, Novoselivka Persha and Rozdolivka villages. 51 civilian objects were destroyed: 32 residential buildings, medical facilities, an administrative building, a school, a church, a cultural centre, cars, a heating pipeline and a power line.

The invaders shelled Hirnyk with Grad MRLs. One person was killed and another injured. Two private buildings were destroyed.

Two civilians were injured in Halytsynivka and one in Rozdolivka.

As a result of the hostile attack in Kostiantynivka, 7 apartment buildings, an administrative building, a heating pipeline and a car were damaged.

Also russian troops shelled Avdiivka with aircraft, Grad MRLs, artillery and tanks. Two civilians and three police officers were injured, a hospital and an office damaged.

It is reported that russians shelled Bahatyr village with Smerch multiple rocket launchers, killing an 11-year-old boy and injuring 3 civilians, including a young child. At least 20 private buildings, a church, a school and cars were damaged.

The invaders intensified shelling of the settlements of Ocheretyne community, trying to break through the defences of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In between the shelling, the White Angels crew delivered humanitarian aid to the frontline Netailove, Pervomaiske, Orlivka and evacuated a couple from Lastochkyne.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the enemy shelled the entire frontline with artillery, including Nevske, Bilohorivka, Novoliubivka and the territory of Serebrianka forestry. There were two explosions of KAB-500 bombs in Nevske. The invaders continue to put pressure on Makiivka and in Kreminna forests, five assault attempts were repelled there. Nevske and Bilohorivka suffered from artillery and mortar shelling.

Ukrainian police distributed fresh loaves of bread to residents of Krasnorichensk community.

According to the documents, the invaders are spending millions on the restoration of the occupied territories but for more than a year they have been engaged in only demonstrative repairs. Sometimes they build something useful, not for the population, but for themselves.

During another wave of forced mobilisation, a landfill was opened in Luhansk where russians are practising their combat skills.

It is extremely difficult to get medical care in Dovzhansk because local staff have either left or are working in military hospitals. And russians, who work on a rotational basis, are the only ones who can help. It is only possible to apply for narrow specialists from russia according to the schedule of their tours to the occupied territories.

Since the beginning of the new school year, Vostok SOS Charitable Foundation has provided more than 1,400 stationery sets for students in 21 schools in Luhansk oblast. About 700 teachers were also provided with food and hygiene kits.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Forum of Regional Coordination Centres is taking place in Kyiv. It brought together more than 100 participants from all regions of the country and abroad. Among them are the heads of civilian support coordination centres, international organisations, representatives of regional administrations, NGOs and volunteer organisations. Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister, said that such meetings should be held at least once every three months to ensure communication between the authorities, governmental and non-governmental organisations, and donors.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv RMA, reported that commission inspections of the facilities under reconstruction have started in Kyiv oblast. The first location is the construction of the Kashtan kindergarten in Byshiv. Last year, it was destroyed by a direct hit from an enemy shell.

Kyiv community posthumously awarded 41 Kyiv servicemen with medals. 7 of them are Heroes of Ukraine. Vitalii Klitschko, Kyiv Mayor, presented the awards to the families of the fallen defenders of Ukraine. According to Kyiv City State Administration, 100 K Kyiv residents are currently defending Ukraine at the frontline.

According to Kyiv RMA, the reconstruction of the Dzhereltse kindergarten in Brovary has begun. The work will be carried out at the expense of the Fund for the Elimination of Armed Aggression Consequences. The building will accomodate 270 children. It is planned to complete the construction within 14 months.

The Kyivpastrans company reported that since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, Kyiv has received 105 buses as humanitarian aid from European partners. 75 of them operate on city routes. About 20 buses donated by Bratislava City Hall will soon be used for transportation. 

On October 20, Mariupol Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Vasyl Kryachok will once again perform for Kyiv residents as part of the Philharmonic of the Unconquered project. This is a project of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine aimed at supporting musicians from occupied, de-occupied and frontline Ukrainian cities.

Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, reported that 50 children of Ukrainian soldiers, children from the regions most affected by the russian invasion and more than 100 young athletes, including those from Irpin and Bucha, had a vacation in Cyprus thanks to the leadership and philanthropists of Cyprus. 

National Media Talk opened in Kyiv on October 13. This is the sixth conference of media professionals from across the country. They will discuss freedom of speech, transformations in the media market and challenges in the context of war. The media forum was opened by James Hope, USAID Regional Mission Director for Ukraine, and Gillian McCormack, Internews Director for Ukraine.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr RMA reported 704 Invincibility Centres have been set up in the region, adapted to work in the absence of centralised electricity and heat supply. They are located in administrative buildings, educational and medical institutions.

Berdychiv City Council reports that Roman Khytrych, a chess player and coach from Zhytomyr, was killed in the russian-Ukrainian war. Roman served in the 66th separate mechanised brigade named after Mstyslav Khorobryi and was killed on October 7 during hostilities towards Svatove in Luhansk oblast.

According to Zhytomyr RMA, on October 12, a working group meeting was held to compile a list of facilities that ensure functioning of the economy in the region. These are 486 facilities in the fuel and energy sector, life support system, industry, public safety, healthcare, food industry and other fields.

Sumy oblast

The enemy fired 6 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. The enemy launched air strikes on the territories of Seredyno-Buda and Velyka Pysarivka communities from an NAR helicopter. There were 14 strikes. Mortar attacks were also recorded in the territories of Bilopillia, Krasnopillia and Nova Sloboda communities. There were 21 attacks.

The Sumy RMA reported that the russian military launched two attacks with an AGS grenade launcher on the territory of the Yunakivka community.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the RMA, reported that the border settlements of Sumy oblast are subjected to hostile fire on a daily basis. Since May 2023, there have been 4,120 cases of shelling of the region’s settlements. More than 3,700 cases (90%) occurred within 5 km of the state border. During this period, 74 people were killed and 171 injured as a result of shelling.

Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 900 energy facilities under the responsibility of Sumyoblenergo JSC have been damaged. These are power equipment located in the 20-kilometre border zone. Almost all the damaged power grids have been restored, except for those in close proximity to the border.

Since the start of hostilities, 5 employees of Sumyoblenergo JSC have been killed, and 6 wounded. Two wounded power engineers who came under fire while performing their duties in Seredyno-Buda are currently undergoing treatment.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, russian troops fired 3 times at the border of Chernihiv oblast. Semenivka community came under fire. There were 18 attacks with cannon artillery and mortars towards Leonivka, Tymonovychi and Bleshnia.

The head of the Chernihiv RMA reported that as a result of the military aggression of the russian federation, about 500 business entities in the region were destroyed and damaged. Almost all of them have resumed their activities. Only one production facility has partially relocated from the region. More than 95 per cent of the surveyed entrepreneurs want to work only in their own region.

According to Chernihiv RMA, an expanded meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Regional and Local Authorities was held in Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts. Government officials and representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine answered questions from community leaders, business representatives, teachers, and doctors. They discussed normalisation of life in the de-occupied communities, preparation for the winter, safety of civilians at the border, providing them with temporary housing, the heating season, investments and development of businesses in the regions.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that at night, the enemy attacked Nikopol region with artillery. Nikopol and Marhanets community were attacked. More than fifteen shots were launched. A private building and an outbuilding were damaged in the town. An explosion was heard in Kryvyi Rih region in the morning. The invaders were shooting from artillery and drones. In Nikopol, two rescuers working at the scene of a fire were injured by shelling, both were hospitalised in moderate condition. In terms of destruction, a car was destroyed, a utility company, a warehouse, an infrastructure facility, 4 cars, 9 residential buildings, 3 outbuildings and a power line damaged.  Myrove and Marhanets communities were also hit.  An agricultural enterprise, 7 residential buildings, 2 outbuildings, a car and 2 power lines were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council informed that another group of children of Defenders went on a trip to Vinnytsia’s sister city Karlsruhe. The trip for the purpose of cultural exchange and psychological relief was organised by the City Council’s Department of Education at the invitation of the municipality of Karlsruhe.

Vinnytsia City Council added that Vinnytsia delivered another batch of drones and anti-drone spotlights for soldiers.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, said that the park of mobile generation for critical critical infrastructure facilities was enhanced in Kirovohrad oblast. Now there are 262 of them. In case of emergencies, 47 crews and more than 140 units of equipment are ready to restore the facilities.

Poltava oblast

Germany donated hospital beds with mattresses, wheelchairs, clothes and shoes, and hygiene items to Kremenchuk. The beds will be distributed between Kremenchuk and Bohaievsky hospitals. The money will be used to equip additional wards. Trolleys are also important for safe transportation of patients for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Clothes and shoes will also be sent to IDPs. 

This week, Poltavateploenergo tested its equipment in case of a blackout. The purpose of such a stress test is to check the speed of switching the boiler house to operation from an autonomous backup power source (generator) in the event of a power outage.

Cherkasy oblast

Families of military personnel from Cherkasy were presented with orthopedic backpacks, notebooks and art materials. This assistance was provided by volunteers of the Mriia Charitable Foundation.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On October 12, the russian military carried out 150 strikes on 22 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Of these, 137 artillery bombardments targeted the areas of Novoiakovlivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Robotyne, Levadne, Poltavka, Malynivka, Plavni, Lobkove, Kamianske, and other towns and villages near the front lines. The enemy conducted an aerial strike on Novodanylivka, five UAV attacks on Chervone, Orikhiv, and Novoandriivka, as well as seven MLRS bombardments on Novoiakovlivka, Robotyne, and Mala Tokmachka. A 62-year-old woman was injured as a result of the shelling in Huliaipole, and 21 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure objects were received.

On October 12, a fire broke out in one of the settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast as a result of russian shelling. Two residential buildings, three outbuildings, and a VAZ passenger car were on fire, with a total area of 400 square meters affected. Additionally, dry grass covering a one-hectare area caught fire.

According to the General Staff, the aggressors unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions in the area of Robotyne. The Ukrainian army continues its offensive operation towards Melitopol.

On October 13, an explosion was heard in the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol. Later, the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that a unit from the Resistance Movement Special Forces blew up a railway track and a train that was transporting ammunition and fuel for the russian army. The train daily transported ammunition and fuel from Crimea to Melitopol and Dniprorudne, and in the reverse direction, it carried damaged equipment and looted items, including iron ore, grain products, and other property. As a result of the controlled explosion, 150 meters of the railway track and a locomotive were damaged. Currently, the occupiers have surrounded the explosion site and are attempting to conceal the sabotage and search for guerrillas.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv RMA informs that on October 12 and in the morning of October 13, russian troops shelled Mykolaiv, Voznesensk, and Bashtanka regions. As a result of the strikes and falling debris, buildings were damaged, and fires broke out. There were no reported casualties or injuries. 

Approximately 800 laptops were provided to children from Mykolaiv oblast, including those from the previously occupied towns of Snihurivka and Ochakiv, which are under constant shelling. This equipment was donated with the support of the Olena Zelenska Foundation and the government of the United Arab Emirates. According to the First Lady of Ukraine, the need for gadgets for online education of children in vulnerable categories in 12 communities has been completely met.

Deputy Mayor Anatolii Petrov informs that 27 Invincibility Centres have been arranged in municipal institutions in case of blackouts due to possible shelling by russian terrorists. They are equipped with generators and heating facilities.

Odesa oblast

On October 13, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited Odesa. He held a meeting with military leadership, law enforcement officials, and regional authorities. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte also arrived in Odesa on Friday and held negotiations with President Zelenskyi. During a briefing, Zelenskyi mentioned that he and Rutte visited the Port of Odesa, which is under attack by the aggressor country. He announced a new decision by the Netherlands to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, including the transfer of missiles for the Patriot SAM system. Zelenskyi and Rutte discussed possible further steps regarding the F-16 coalition and other aspects of defense cooperation, as well as strengthening sanctions against the aggressor country.

The Greater Odesa ports received three more vessels via the Ukrainian Navy corridor. These vessels are the Imperator (owned by a Greek company), Wu Yang Glory (owned by a Chinese company), and Falcona (owned by a Ukrainian company). According to MarineTraffic, the Imperator arrived under the flag of the Marshall Islands, with a deadweight of 18.9 thousand tons. The Wu Yang Glory, with a deadweight of 75.5 thousand tons, is flying the flag of Liberia, and the Falcona, with a deadweight of 2.2 thousand tons, is flying the flag of Cameroon. This information was provided by the head of the Sanctions and Freedom of Navigation Monitoring Group at the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies, Andrii Klymenko.

The government has cancelled its decision to temporarily close the railway checkpoint “Kuchurgan” on the border with Transnistria. It is now open for both passenger and freight transport. However, it remains closed for cars, as it was before.

Kherson oblast

On October 13, the russian military carried out a drone attack on a car in Beryslav. A 34-year-old woman was killed due to the vehicle being hit, and a 36-year-old man was hospitalized. A 79-year-old woman was transported to the hospital in a moderate condition. Another resident sustained injuries to their hands, legs, head, back, and had blast trauma.

It is reported that russian military forces also shelled the outskirts of Kherson during the day, resulting in injuries to two individuals. A 42-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were hospitalized in a moderately severe condition.

On October 12, the enemy conducted 100 shelling attacks, firing 553 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grad rocket launchers, tanks, AGS grenades, aircraft, and UAVs. The occupiers launched 30 guided aerial bombs at residential buildings of peaceful inhabitants, agricultural land, industrial facilities, and critical infrastructure objects in Kherson щидфіе, as well as the maritime trade and transport routes around the island.

Furthermore, the russians dropped 22 fragmentation munitions from drones.  They dropped explosives from a drone near a police service vehicle in Berislav. The explosion caused the vehicle to catch fire, but the personnel were unharmed.

The enemy fired 49 projectiles at the city of Kherson. russian military forces targeted residential neighborhoods in the region’s settlements, educational institutions in Kherson and the oblast, a medical facility, and a factory in Kherson, as well as an enterprise in Beryslav region. Two residents were killed, and six others injured, including one child.

On October 12, Ukrainian defense forces eliminated 21 russian occupiers on the left bank of Kherson oblast. Additionally, Ukrainian military destroyed a self-propelled artillery unit Msta-S, two howitzers, an antenna field for radio-technical equipment, 15 pieces of armoured vehicles, two boats, two field supply points, and a UAV control point ZALA.

Kherson Regional Military Administration has expanded the list of settlements requiring mandatory evacuation of families with children. The updated list includes Stanislav, Shyroka Balka, and Oleksandrivka.

Despite continuous shelling, the American charity Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) continues to deliver humanitarian aid, even in dangerous areas. There are still difficulties in Komyshany in providing residents with drinking water, so people received another batch of drinking water. Another humanitarian cargo arrived in the settlements of Mykilske and Poniativka, delivering family and hygiene kits. These humanitarian boxes contain all the essentials, and volunteers distribute the aid directly to the community’s residents.

Students from Volyn held a rally in support of the defenders of Avdiivka. In the square of Fighters for the Independence of Ukraine in Rozhyshche, children hung the banner Avdiivka, reminding everyone of the heavy battles that are ongoing in this city.

Zakarpattia oblast

In Zakarpattia, 42 servicemen were given implants for the treatment of serious bone injuries. Complex operations using the method of metal osteosynthesis within the framework of the pilot project are carried out in Uzhhorod City Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the international organization Habitat for Humanity International. They discussed creating the most comfortable living conditions for the IDPs, prospects for the implementation of the social housing project in the oblast and the importance of its energy efficiency.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with heads of communities of the oblast. They discussed the state of implementation of the Restoration program, the use of transitional balances of subventions from the state budget, objects of unfinished construction and the notification system.

Soldiers of the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received a drone thanks to farmers from Great Britain as part of the Pickups for Peace initiative.

Students of the Lyceum # 4 named after Lesia Ukrainka painted combat cartridges from the front line. Their children were handed over by defenders who are currently undergoing rehabilitation in Drohobych region. Proceeds will be used to purchase drones for defense forces.

Defenders of Ukraine climbed the Parashka Mount. This is the highest peak of the Skolivski Beskydy National Nature Park, 1 268 meters high. This is the 3rd ascent organized within the framework of the concept of support for defenders of Ukraine, which was developed in Lviv RMA.

Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, awarded Viktor Sas, soldier from Mykolaiv community, with the Golden Cross badge of honour. He was a member of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and has been protecting Ukraine from the russian occupier since the first days of the full-scale invasion.

Military serviceman Yurii Romanchuk from Volsvin, Chervonohrad region, was awarded with the 3th degree For Courage Order. The son of the deceased Hero received the award. 39-year-old Yurii Romanchuk was killed during the battle in Donetsk oblast on March 28.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the heads of local offices of mobile operators Kyivstar, Vodafone Ukraine and Lifecell. The goal is to strengthen the autonomy of the oblast’s base stations during a possible blackout due to enemy air strikes.

The RMA held a meeting of the Coordinating Center for Civilian Support. A new service will be introduced in Rivne oblast, which will be provided by Sustainability Centers.

Ternopil oblast

An Alarm Button is already installed in 726 (56%) educational institutions of Ternopil oblast. In case of danger, after pressing a button, paramilitary guards will immediately arrive at the educational institution to protect children or solve any other “extraordinary situations”

Khmelnytskyi oblast

From Khmelnytskyi, 12 DJI Mavic 3T Termal quadcopters with thermal imagers worth almost UAH 2,8 mln, were sent to combat units based in the community. These are funds from the city budget.

Chernivtsi oblast

A new ambulance was handed over to the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine thanks to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the United24 global initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Germany sent a new package of military aid, which includes 4 Bandvagn 206 (BV206) multi-purpose tracked all-terrain vehicles, 4 cars for border guards, 2 HX81 tank tractors, 2 trailers for tanks, 50 drone detection systems, 82 SatCom satellite communication terminals, 100K first-aid kits, and 27 477 backpacks.

The German government, through the German development bank KfW, has allocated a grant of EUR 76 mln to Ukrenerho. The funds will be directed to the construction of engineering protection of substations, installation of new high-voltage equipment, in particular autotransformers, and the modernization of the network on the border with Europe.

The G7 countries have frozen russian assets worth $280 billion. The G7 countries have pledged to freeze russia’s assets until it compensates for the damages caused to Ukraine as a result of the full-scale invasion.

The government of Estonia approved the use of frozen assets of the russian federation to compensate Ukraine for damages. Next, the draft law will be considered by the Parliament. Assets of the Russian Federation worth about 38 million euros were frozen in Estonia. If the parliament approves the law, the money will be used to compensate for the damage caused to Ukraine due to the war.

The US Treasury Department reported that the country introduced sanctions against companies and ships transporting russian oil at a price higher than the ceiling of $60. The SCF Primorye of the Lumber Marine SA company with headquarters in the UAE, and the Bosphorus of the Turkish company Ice Pearl Navigation Corp. fell under the restrictions.

PACE adopted 2 resolutions in support of Ukraine. They refer to Ukraine’s consistent support for victory, and also recognize the Holodomor as a crime of genocide and an intention to destroy the state, its language and culture. The Assembly also supports the establishment of a Register of Damages and demands the immediate and unconditional release of victims of enforced disappearances, the liquidation of infiltration camps and the punishment of those responsible.

The International Olympic Committee made a decision to exclude the Olympic Committee of russia from its membership. Thus, the organization reacted to the illegal inclusion of Olympic councils from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in the composition of the Olympic Committee.

Rustem Umyerov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, and Todor Tagarev, Minister of Defense of Bulgaria, signed a memorandum, which provides for cooperation in cyber defense, strategic communications and receiving military-technical support.

Negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU will begin in 2024. “It is during Belgium’s presidency of the EU Council (the first half of 2024) that the actual start of negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in the EU will begin,” said Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, following the meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and Alexander De Croo, Prime Minister of Belgium.
