It has been the 737th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On March 1, there were 73 combat engagements. 

The enemy launched a total of 6 missile and 79 air strikes, carried out 62 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks resulted in killed and wounded civilians. Residential private and apartment buildings, as well as other infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. 

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Druzhba, Hlukhiv, Volfyne (Sumy oblast), Okhrimivka, Vilkhuvatka, Khatnje, Topoli (Kharkiv oblast). More than 30x settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Prohres (Chernihiv oblast), Shalyhyne, Svarkove, Stara Huta (Sumy oblast), Kozacha Lopan, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Okhrimivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the adversary conducted no offensives. The invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Kyslivka and Sadove (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, and Pishchane (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 6x assaults near Terny, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast) and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), where the adversary, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 20 settlements, including Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks in the vicinities of Bohdanivka and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers made attempts to improve their tactical situation. The invaders launched air strikes near Chasiv Yar and Druzhba (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Chasiv Yar, Andriivka, and Druzhba (Donetsk oblast). 

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 attacks in the vicinities of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). The adversary launched air strikes near Novokalynove, Oleksandropil, Arkhanhelske, Novooleksandrivka, Ocheretyne, Prohres, and Novobakhmutivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 20 settlements, including Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka, Orlivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Pobjeda and south of Zolota Nyva (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the invaders made 25 attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 20 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostyantynivka, Vuhledar, and Blahodatne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Orikhiv, the adversary conducted no offensives. The enemy launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). Around 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, Odesa operational and strategic group, the enemy conducted no offensives. Around 20 settlements, including Kachkarivka, Lvove, Kherson, and Stanislav (Kherson oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire. 

On March 1, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 13 buildups of enemy troops. 

The Ukrainian rocket troops hit 1 buildup of military equipment, 2 artillery systems, 3 command posts, and 3 ammunition depots of the russian invaders.

Hanna Hvozdiar, Deputy Minister for Strategic industries says that since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has produced about 200 K FPV drones. In total, Ukraine plans to produce 2 million drones of various types. 

Serhiy Reva, Head of the department for the organization of humanitarian demining of the State Emergency Service, informs that 156 K square kilometres are potentially mined in Ukraine. Among the factors that hinder the demining of territories are hostilities, the density and complexity of contamination of the de-occupied territories with explosive objects.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops repelled 72 russian attacks on the frontlines of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Most of the fighting was towards Avdiivka and Novopavlivka.  

Illia Yevlash, Spokesman of Khortytsia operational and strategic group, stated that there are almost 100 K russians towards Lyman-Kupiansk.

Kharkiv oblast

The State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast reported that on the morning of March 1, russians shelled Vovchansk, a border town, setting on fire the roof of a residential building, a garage and a car over an area of 100 square metres. The press service of Kharkiv police noted that a 68-year-old man was injured as a result of russian shelling of Vovchansk. At least 30 explosions were heard in the city.

The press service of the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast informed that a 70-year-old man tripped over a mine on the road between Barvinkove and Arkhanhelske village at around 9 am. According to preliminary data, the man picked up the explosive from the ground and then detonated it. He was hospitalised with a mine-blast injury to his right hand.

Kovalenko, head of Zolochiv City Military Administration, stated that at around 8 am, russians attacked Morozova Dolyna village with artillery. Three private houses, outbuildings and power lines were damaged.

The General Staff said that the Defence forces repelled two russian attacks towards Kupiansk near Tabaivka and Petropavlivka. Mytrofanivka and Bolohivka suffered airstrikes.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that about 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were hit with artillery and mortar: Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka and others. The enemy launched airstrikes on Bolohivka, Osynove, Mytrofanivka and other settlements.

At 1:05 am, a warehouse and 4 hangars were damaged in Vovchansk as a result of hostile shelling from multiple rocket launchers. There was no information about casualties.

At 10:14 pm, Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region, was shelled and more than seven explosions occurred. There were no casualties.

At 10 pm, the enemy attacked Vovchansk. Outbuildings on the territory of a household were damaged. In 5 minutes there was a second attack. There was no information about the casualties.

At 2 pm, a 47-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were injured in Mytrofanivka village, Kupiansk region, as a result of a munition dropped by an enemy drone. Their condition is moderate and they received the necessary medical assistance.

 Around 1:10 pm, private houses and 2 cars were damaged and a woman injured as a result of enemy UAV shelling of Vovchansk. Vovchansk, private houses and 2 cars were damaged.

At about 12:45 pm, a crossing point was damaged and a man injured as a result of hostile FAB-500 shelling of Osynove village, Kupiansk region.

At 8:30 am, a private house was damaged as a result of hostile shelling in Synelnykove village, Chuhuiv region.

Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 enemy attacks near Petropavlivka and Tabaivka over the day.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 31.47 hectares of territory  and destroyed 107 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.

Previously, border settlements suffered from tank attacks but later russians began to attack with guided aerial bombs. Aerial bombs have a greater radius of destruction than artillery, mortars, etc. The fact that there has been a pause in the use of UAVs at the front is a direct response to the destruction of russian attack aircraft. There are currently no russian assault units in the north of Kharkiv oblast, which would indicate that the russian federation is able to conduct assaults towards Kharkiv.

The list of settlements, where forced evacuation of families with children and mandatory evacuation are announced, may be expanded. The issue of forced evacuation of children from Velykyi Burluk and Vilkhuvatka communities is currently being reviewed. 161 children are to be evacuated. Velykyi Burluk and Vilkhuvatka communities also plan to expand the list of settlements where mandatory evacuation has been announced.

Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, more than 20,000 buildings, including schools, universities, houses, kindergartens and churches, have been destroyed in Kharkiv.

During the occupation of Lypetsk community, russians kept a local council member, an ATO participant and the father of a current police officer in a torture chamber. One of them was taken to russia and held captive for two years. The man was returned during the exchange.

Yevhen Pasenov, Mayor’s Councillor for housing and communal services, said that in the first week of March, the next stage of dismantling the entrance destroyed by russian strikes will begin in the house at 82 Uzhvii Street. The work will take up to 60 days: the destroyed part of the building is planned to be completely dismantled within this period. The first stage of work was completed in mid-January, with the elevator shaft and upper floors dismantled.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police reported that yesterday russian troops attacked residential areas 18 times, with a total of 1,843 attacks in the oblast.

There were hits in 17 settlements: Kurakhove, Mykolaivka, Toretsk cities, Hostre, Zhelanne, Niu-York, Ocheretyne, Shcherbynivka settlements, Bohoiavlenka, Kolodiazi, Novooleksandrivka, Novozhelanne, Novoocheretuvate, Ozerne, Predtechyne, Skudne, Umanske villages.

46 civilian objects were damaged, including 33 residential buildings, a hospital, an administrative building, a cultural centre, a shop, a sanatorium, a garage, an outbuilding, cars, a gas pipeline and a power line.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Volnovakha, one house was destroyed and another damaged in Novoukrainka of Vuhledar community. A house was also damaged in Skudne of Komar community.

Towards Pokrovsk, a house of culture was destroyed in Soloviove of Ocheretyne community. In Kurakhove community, 6 private houses and a 2-storey building in Kurakhove and an infrastructure facility in Hostre were damaged.

Towards Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka suffered 4 missile strikes at night. One of the missiles hit the police administrative building. This is the 37th damaged police station in Donetsk oblast. The attack also damaged a hospital, two kindergartens, a bakery, 2 industrial buildings, 10 residential buildings, including 6 apartment buildings and a car. Rescuers saved a man from a fire that broke out after a missile strike on the town. In Lyman community, 8 houses were damaged: 3 in Ozerne, 3 in Yampil and 2 in Kryva Luka.

Towards Bakhmut, in Toretsk community, 3 people were injured and 10 houses damaged in Shcherbynivka, and 4 more houses damaged in Toretsk. 5 private houses, 2 multi-storey buildings and 5 outbuildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community.

In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 18 times. 159 people, including 38 children, were evacuated.

Illia Yevlash, Spokesman of Khortytsia operational-strategic group, reported that the Ukrainian military began preparing Chasiv Yar for defence immediately after the loss of Bakhmut. The town now has several defence rings, concrete structures, equipped platoon positions, minefields and various engineering obstacles for russian equipment.

Dmytro Lykhovii, Spokesman of Tavria operational-strategic group, said that the russian military is accompanying the shelling by dropping grenades with the banned chemical chlorpicrin from drones towards Novopavlivka. He added that the information about the occupation of Berdychi village in Donetsk oblast by the russian military is not true.

The police, together with Feniks evacuation team of the State Emergency Service, evacuated 6 people from Toretsk: two boys, their parents and their grandmothers with limited mobility. The whole family is now safe together and they have found a shelter in Kyiv. There are 17 children left in Toretsk.

DTEK Donetsk Power Grids specialists have restored electricity to 3 settlements cut off by shelling. This allowed 1,423 families to get electricity back to their homes.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, on February 29, russians attempted several times to storm the positions of our troops in Bilohorivka. They launched airstrikes on Nadiia, Bilohorivka and Novoiehorivka.

Despite the fact that the enemy was attacking Nevske and the surrounding villages, the aid was brought there. Luhansk police officers and representatives of the village military administration helped to deliver and distribute the necessary items to the locals. Food packages were delivered to Nevske. Neighbouring Makiivka and Hrekivka received food, bread, hygiene products and other items donated by benefactors. Krasnorichensk outpatient clinic delivered sets of medicines to these two settlements. People were asked about the evacuation and requests for the most necessary things were collected.

Equipment is being dismantled at two coal mining enterprises in Dovzhansk. These are Chervonyi Partiyzan and Dovzhanska Kapitalna mines. Everything that could be cut out at the request of the new investors is being exported to russia.

According to the decision of the so-called “government of lpr”, they transfer the mines for nothing and without competitive bidding, meaning that they choose who they will assign to destroy the industry.

During the house-to-house visits in Sievierodonetsk, it turned out that there were significantly fewer people in the city than the number of ballots ordered for putin’s re-election.  Therefore, the occupation authorities decided to artificially expand the voting lists.

The Medical Rehabilitation Centre of Lysychansk Multidisciplinary Hospital was opened in Dnipro. The centre is equipped with modern interactive equipment. It includes upper and lower limb training systems, walking rehabilitation equipment and a robotic exoskeleton.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Volodymyr Avdeienko, Head of the Kyiv Regional Center for Training the Population for National Resistance and a veteran of the russian-Ukrainian war said that the centre invites people to one-day training and basic military courses. The center conducts activities in three formats: one-day training courses in the main areas of military training; the main format is a basic training course in 16 areas, designed for 7 weeks; thematic events, which include various topics – from a class in a shooting club to a historical lecture.

Deputy Mayor Petro Panteleev said that Kyiv received international aid in the form of equipment and machinery for the restoration of energy facilities worth about UAH 1.5 billion. They received help in the process of restoring energy infrastructure facilities after russian shelling. Also, for the purchase of equipment, about 1 billion UAH were allocated from the city budget, and about 800 million UAH from the funds of “Kyivteploenergo”.

100 family doctors started training from the NGO “Space of Opportunities” under the program of managing mental disorders for people who have experienced traumatic experiences. The course program also includes the basics of veteran policy. More than 2,000 health workers have been trained in the management of common mental disorders at the primary level using the mhGAP guidelines.

Makariv village Head Vadim Tokar said that a veterans’ hub will be set up in the premises of the House of Culture. Military personnel and veterans will be able to turn to the hub for help, advice or visit for communication. Also, the local authorities continue to search for sources of financing for the construction of a rehabilitation and sports complex.

Kyiv City Mayor Vitaly Klychko announced that the Kyiv City Council has increased spending on the “Defender of Kyiv” program – the amount is almost 5 billion hryvnias. So far, city deputies have allocated money, in particular, for logistical and technical support of defense and security forces, provision of Ukrainian defenders with drones, training of UAV operators, reconstruction and construction of civil protection facilities.

The Head of the Investment Council of Irpin Volodymyr Krplyuk said that the creativity of the children of Kyiv oblast, who survived the full-scale invasion of russian troops, is planned to be collected and published in a separate book. A collection of poems, prose works and drawings by children from de-occupied cities, villages and towns will last until May 1, 2024. The book will be edited and published with the financial support of the “Brave” Society.

Zhytomyr oblast

Another evacuation train with internally displaced persons arrived in Zhytomyr oblast on February 29. 52 IDPs arrived, including 13 children and 8 people with disabilities. 17 persons from those who arrived in Zhytomyr oblast were granted a place of temporary residence in Vyshevychi community.

Zhytomyr RMA reported that work continues in the oblast to create a system of shelters in educational institutions, taking into account the principles of barrier-free and accessibility for groups of the population with limited mobility. To date, 1,303 educational institutions have arranged 1,223 shelters (93%).

Sumy oblast

At night and in the morning, russian forces carried out 7 shelling attacks on the border territories and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 16 strikes from mortars and barrel artillery, guided bombs were dropped from the plane. Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Hlukhiv, Druzhbivka and Seredina-Buda communities came under shelling.

Sumy RMA reported that on February 29, the russian military carried out 27 shelling attacks causing 157 explosions. Yunakivka, Khotyn, Bilopillia, Vorozhba, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhine, Seredina-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske and Druzhbivka communities came under shelling. The enemy attacked with mortars, barrel artillery, MLRS and other types of weapons.

During the day, the enemy dropped VOG from UAVs (2 explosions), fired from MLRS (8 explosions), artillery shelling (10 explosions), a Lancet-type UAV strike (1 explosion) and mortar shelling (6 explosions) on the territory of Yunakivka community.

As a result of an artillery strike on Vorozhba community on February 29, one person was injured. According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, warehouses of the production enterprise caught fire there.

26 heroes from Sumy oblast were awarded state awards posthumously. Honorary awards to the relatives of the fallen defenders were presented by Volodymyr Artiukh Head of the regional military administration.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that during the past 24 hours, russian troops struck the border of Chernihiv oblast 5 times. The communities of Semenivka and Snovsk were under enemy shelling with 24 mortar hits recorded.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv RMA, announced that the oblast has 7 sister cities in Germany. The oblast established cooperation with the land of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Chernihiv region – with Zegeberg region. According to him, today Chernihiv oblast is provided with aid from Germany, including machinery and equipment for critical infrastructure, 26 frame houses for victims in Nova Basan and Novyi Bykiv, assisstance for internally displaced persons in Staryi Bykiv, etc.

Oster community signed a memorandum with the USAID AGRO Program, as well as the direct executor of works LLC Khersonzemproekt regarding the development of spatial planning, and Ivanivka territorial community – regarding the development of a comprehensive recovery program. All other communities within the project will receive advisory support on topical issues of land management and urban planning.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reports that yesterday 3 enemy drones were destroyed over the region. They were shot down over Synelnykove and Dnipro regions. The enemy also shelled Nikopol and Marhanets community of Nikopol region with artillery. In the afternoon the enemy fired a missile in Kryvyi Rih region. The occupiers launched kamikaze drones at Nikopol.

Serhii Lysak, Head of the RMA, reports that the Sport Next Door project was opened in Dnipro region in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee. Recreational swimming is provided for veterans. All procedures are carried out under the supervision of a qualified coach.

A German shepherd dog Olivia is being treated in Kryvyi Rih. The dog wandered into the military in Kherson oblast. During one of the shelling attacks, the animal shielded the soldiers and received shrapnel wounds to the torso and front paw.

Vinnytsia oblast

Serhii Morhunov, Vinnytsia Mayor, reported that 6 more military units have been enhanced in Vinnytsia region to protect the sky over the region. 55 charging stations and 32 searchlights will now help the National Guard, border guards and the Air Force fighters to better see and target enemy drones.

Vinnytsia City Council has completed a campaign organized by the VinPatriot children’s volunteer center in support of the National Guard.

Almost UAH 100 K was transferred to the volunteer center of Luka-Meleshkivska community to purchase the necessary equipment for the soldiers.

Kirovohrad oblast

A plaque in honour of fallen soldier Roman Rotanov was unveiled in Poltava. It was installed in the lobby of Poltava Professional College of Transport Construction. Roman Rotanov in the age of 45 was killed during a combat mission on June 29, 2022, near Verkhnekamianske village in Donetsk Oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy City Council reported that the first Safety Classroom was opened in Cherkasy at the city’s budget expense to help schoolchildren learn the rules of behaviour in emergency situations.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the enemy launched 200 strikes on 11 settlements in the region. One person was killed, and six others wounded. The enemy shelled Orikhiv, Pryiutne, Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, Plavni, and other frontline cities and villages 130 times. Occupiers carried out 4 missile strikes on Yulivka, attacked Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Robotyne with 52 drones, executed 5 MLRS attacks on Robotyne, and launched 9 air-to-ground missiles on Levadne, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Novodanylivka. There were 27 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure objects being destroyed.

On February 29, the enemy launched an airstrike on a village in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Guided aerial bombs hit three two-story residential buildings. One person was killed, and six others injured in the attack. Nearby residential buildings, facades, and windows were damaged by the shockwave and debris. Thirty rescuers and six pieces of equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the attack.

Four fires occurred in Polohy region due to russian shelling on February 29. According to the rescuers, fires broke out in Huliaipole and Orikhiv, as well as in the villages of Chervonyi Iar and Verkhnia Tersa.

The General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack near Robotyne towards Orikhiv. 

Oleksandr Pivnenko, Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, visited units of the National Guard involved in the fighting on Zaporizhzhia front. Among them were rapid response brigades Spartan and Red Kalyna. A detailed analysis of the enemy’s tactics and the operational situation was conducted to plan further actions. Discussions also focused on improving logistics conditions, comprehensive support, and fortification equipment for positions, observation points, and strongholds.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, says that on February 29 and March 1, russian forces launched attacks on Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. 

Snihurivka community received a fire truck. According to Ivan Kukhta, Head of the city military administration, this specialized vehicle and other equipment was purchased with the assistance of the Swedish charitable foundation Skicka vidare till Ukraina and the Nest Foundation.

Residents of Mykolaiv collected nearly 250 kilograms of plastic bottle caps for further recycling as part of an initiative by the NGO Kinburn. The funds raised are planned to be used to manufacture components for drones, which will be handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Almost 20 hectares of forests in Mykolaiv oblast need complete restoration after fires caused by russian shelling. According to rescuers, over 150 hectares of green areas in the region were affected by fire. Many forests are littered with shells and mines, so there is a risk of ignition at any moment. Odesa oblast

Odesa RMA informs that Ukraine and Moldova have agreed to launch a bus service between Odesa and Chisinau Airport starting from March 1, 2024. The buses will depart at 8:00 from the Starosinna bus station in Odesa and at 19:00 from Chisinau Airport. 

Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa RMA, reports that the borders of Odesa oblast are continually fortified, considering the russians’ plans for the annexation of the region. Fortifications are being erected along the border and the Black Sea side. 

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure, says that eight million tons of cargo were exported via Odesa ports in February 2024. 5.2 million tons of the export is the production of Ukrainian agrarians. This is a record volume since the full-scale invasion. 

Kherson oblast

Yesterday, the enemy shelled Mykhailivka, Tomyna Balka, Kizomyss, Beryslav, Kozatske, Kachkarivka, Lvove, Tiahynka, Iantarne, Dniprovske, Zolota Balka, Inhulets, Poniativka, Berehove, Sadove, Osokorivka, Zmiivka, Odradokamianka, and the city of Kherson. Russian forces targeted residential neighbourhoods, damaging an apartment building, 32 private houses, an educational institution building, utility structures, and cars. Also utility equipment was damaged. 2 people sustained injuries.

Systematic counter-battery combat continues in the operational zone of the Southern Defense Forces. The enemy attempted 4 unsuccessful assaults. Preliminary data suggests that 40 occupiers suffered irreparable and sanitary losses during the assaults on strongholds.

Yesterday, the enemy lost 47 occupiers, 9 cannons, 3 radio-electronic warfare stations, 9 armoured vehicles, and 2 boats on the left bank. Two enemy field supply points were destroyed.

Today, representatives of Kherson Regional Military Administration met with the families of the Heroes who entered the battle against russian occupiers on March 1. Fallen defenders were posthumously awarded with the  For Courage Order of the III degree by the Decree of the President of Ukraine. The awards were presented to the families of the fallen.

A memorial plaque to five fighters of the first platoon of the 194th Separate Battalion of the 124th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade was unveiled in the courtyard of the Kherson Lyceum. They died during the battles for Kherson two years ago.

28 children received tablets, stationery sets, and educational games from the Larysa Ilienko’s Kyiv Rus Charitable Fund and the initiative group T17. Juvenile police officers handed over the tablets to boys and girls who did not have computers or laptops and attended online classes on their parents’ phones. These are students from Kherson, Chornobaivka, Novoraivsk, and Velyka Oleksandrivka communities.

Lviv oblast

A one-time payment in the amount of UAH 50K from the city budget will be paid to those who are on military registration in Lviv community and have signed a contract with the military units of the airborne assault troops and the naval forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is about both the first and repeated contracts.

Construction of social housing for injured migrants continues in Lviv. Now the first of 8 houses is being built. The foundation has already been laid, concrete has been poured and building structures have begun to be installed. In total, 700 people will be able to live here. The European Commission allocated EUR 19.5 mln in grant funds for housing construction.

Lviv oblast sent 100 FPV drones to the 63rd and 64th separate battalions of the 103rd separate ground defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine thanks to the Birds of Victory charity project.

For the first time in 33 years, an exhibition of Ukrainian art was opened in Sydney. 18 artists participated in the exhibition on the theme The Emigrant and His Broken Roads. Most of the works were sold during the event. The funds will be directed to the art therapy center in the Lviv Officers’ House.

In the village of Boyanets of Velikomostovsk community, a memorial plaque was opened to Ihor Vesnia, fallen military serviceman. It was installed on the facade of the Boyanets gymnasium, where the fallen Hero studied. The soldier was killed on April 16, 2022. By decree of the President of Ukraine, senior soldier Ihor Vesnia was awarded with the III degree For Courage Order (posthumously).

Croatian soldiers teach Ukrainian veterans to mentally relieve themselves with the help of diving and water sports within the framework of the joint project of Ukraine and Croatia Resocialization of Ukrainian Veterans. Now the second stage of the project is underway, participants of which are 10 veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war.

Rivne oblast

A shelter for 300 students was opened in Oleksandriisk community. The area of ​​the newly built building is 456 square meters. A modern anti-radiation shelter was built in 4 months. There are beds, chairs and benches. Modern ventilation and fire protection systems are installed, there are two entrances, water supplies, toilets and an alarm system worth over UAH 23 mln. Of these, UAH 14.6 mln came from the state budget, UAH 6 mln were regional funds, and UAH 2.5 mln were financed by the community. Over the past six months, 105 new shelters have appeared in Rivne oblast, now there are 2 255 such facilities in the oblast.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil City Council reported that the community over 50 FPV drones complete with batteries for one of the special units on the front line thanks to the Defense Capability program for 2024 in order to provide the military with the necessary equipment and ammunition to perform combat missions.

This summer, Ukraine will receive kamikaze drones of the Delair company from France. “As part of the innovative program, France is ordering 100 remote-controlled munitions from Delair, which will arrive in Ukraine in the summer of 2024,” said Sebastien Lecornu, French Defense Minister. In September 2023, Paris purchased 150 such drones for Kyiv.

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the World Bank are working on raising $500 mln to finance projects supporting Ukrainian business in 2024. The European Parliament today adopted a resolution in support of Ukraine. MEPs call on EU countries to provide Ukraine with ammunition, anti-aircraft defense systems, long-range missiles, in particular, TAURUS, Storm Shadow/SCALP, various types of artillery, as well as drones and weapons to counter them. Deputies ask the EU countries to confiscate russian assets and transfer them to the restoration of Ukraine and strengthen sanctions against moscow and minsk.

The joint investigative group investigating serious international crimes of the russian federation in Ukraine continued its work for 2 years. “This joint investigative team is the largest international effort to document war crimes in history. Never before has such an investigative group been created, which actually documented war crimes during the war,” said Ladislav Khamran, Eurojust Chairman, during a briefing in Kyiv.
