War in Ukraine today: latest news, June 15, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 477th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On June 15, the enemy conducted 5 missile strikes, using Kh-101/Kh-555 and Kh-59 cruise missiles. In addition, there were more than 40 airstrikes and over 20 MRLS attacks on Ukrainian settlements and Ukrainian Defense Forces were recorded. Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Industrial facilities in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk oblast, residential buildings and administrative infrastructure in Kherson oblast have been damaged.

The threat of missile and air strikes remains high across Ukraine.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka, heavy battles continue. During the day, 26 combat clashes took place.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There are no signs of offensive groups forming. The republic of belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine. Training of separate units of russian forces continues on its training grounds.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy carried out airstrikes at Yanzhulivka and Halahanivka in Chernihiv oblast. russians shelled with mortars and artillery the settlements of Karpovychi, Yanzhulivka, Halahanivka, Chernihiv oblast; Seredyno-Buda, Rozhkovichi, Demianivka, Baranivka, Fotovizh, Budivelne, Stukalyvka, Iskriskivshchyna, Yastrubyne, Basivka of Sumy oblast, as well as Veterinarne, Alisivka, Staritsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Bochkove, Budarky, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy forces carried out airstrikes near Vesele and Berestove of Kharkiv oblast. Novomlynsk, Masiutivka, Zapadne, Lyman Pershyi, Kyslivka of Kharkiv oblast and Novoselivske of Luhansk oblast were shelled by artillery and mortars.

Towards Lyman, the enemy forces conducted unsuccessful offensives near Stelmakhivka in Luhansk oblast and Vyimka, Vesele, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast. They carried out an airstrike near Raihorodka of Luhansk oblast. Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Belogorivka of the Luhansk Oblast and Yampolivka, Tors’ke, Dibrova, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Serebrianka of Donetsk oblast were shelled by artillery.

Towards Bakhmut, russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Orihovo-Vasylivka, Donetsk oblast. There were airstrikes near Bila Hora, Sievierne and Maiorsk of Donetsk oblast. Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Kalynivka, Ivanivske, Ozarianivka, Bila Hora, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Katerynivka and Pivdenne of Donetsk oblast were shelled by enemy artillery.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of the city of Avdiivka. Keramik, Orlivka, Avdiivka, Vesele, Semenivka, Vodyane, Severne, Tonenka, Pervomaiske, Yasnobrodivka, Karlivka, Zhelane Pershe, Novokalynove, and Nevelske settlements in Donetsk oblast were shelled.

Towards Marinka, our defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the vicinities of Marinka, Krasnohorivka, and Novomykhailivka. The enemy carried out airstrikes near the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Velyka Novosilka, Malynyvka, Mala Tokmachka and Blahodatne in Donetsk oblast. At the same time, the enemy shelled with artillery fire Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Maksimilianivka, Pobieda and Katerynivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy forces conducted offensives in the vicinities of Novomykhailivka and Vodiane, Donetsk oblast, albeit without success. They shelled the settlements of Blahodatne, Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Novoukrainka, Zolota Nyva, Shakhtarske, Velyka Novosilka, and Novyi Komar in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, russian forces are on the defensive. They carried out an air strike with guided air bombs in Kozatske region of Kherson oblast. Olhivske, Chervone, Zatyshsha, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Novoandriivka, Preobrazhenka, Mali Shcherbaki, Kamianske of Zaporizhzhia oblast; Osokorivka, Mykhailivka, Respublikanets, Beryslav, Vesele, Kozatske, Olhivka, Odradokamyanka, Lviv, Tiahinka, Tokarivka, Inzhenerne, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Stepanivka, Chornobaivka, Kherson, Zymivnyk, Bilozirka, Kizomys of Kherson oblast and Ochakiv of Mykolaiv oblast.

The Ukrainian Air Force conducted 13 strikes on enemy manpower buildups. 

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 20 Iranian strike Shahed UAVs, as well as Orlan-10 operational-tactical UAVs.

Ukrainian rocket and artillery units hit 2 control points, the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, the enemy’s manpower buildup, 3 ammunition depots, and 5 artillery units at firing positions.

The Associated Press informs that russia has begun the trial of the captured Azov defenders. 22 people have been charged. Among them are 8 women who worked as cooks in the Azov battalion. They could face sentences ranging from 15 years to life in prison if convicted. 

As reported on the website of the European Parliament, a resolution to NATO calling for Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance is adopted.  The resolution states that the accession process will begin after the end of the war and ‘be completed as soon as possible’.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the russian army carried out an air strike in Berestove region of Kharkiv oblast. Towards Kupiansk, the russian military shelled Novomlynsk, Masiutivka, Zakhidne, Lyman Pershyi and Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast with artillery and mortars. Towards Sloboda, the occupiers fired at Veterynarne, Alisivka, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Bochkove, and Budarky.

The Ministry of Energy reported that power grids were damaged by shelling in Kharkiv oblast, leaving more than 9 K consumers without electricity, including about 90% of consumers in Borova community. The village council said that power supply is expected to be restored in the afternoon. 

Last night, the enemy carried out an attack with Shahed kamikaze drones. 2 drones moving towards Kharkiv were shot down by air defense forces over Kharkiv oblast. There were no hits in Kharkiv and the oblast overnight.

The enemy fired artillery, mortars, and rocket launchers at settlements in Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, and Lozova regions.

Ivashky, Vysoka Yaruha, Starytsia, Krasne, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Vilkhuvatka, Zemlianky, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Lyman Pershyi, Masiutivka, and other settlements were shelled by the russians.

Yesterday morning there was a missile attack on Stepove village in Lozova region. Power grids are damaged. There were no casualties or large-scale destruction.

In Kamianka village, Izium region, a civilian man of 57 years old was blown up on an unknown device in his own yard. He was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Demining is ongoing. SES pyrotechnics inspected 8.7 hectares of territory and defused 106 ordnance. During the week, 1100 ordnance were destroyed in Kharkiv oblast. Over the course of the week, sapper units cleared nearly 329 hectares of mines.

Donetsk oblast

According to Hanna Malyar, Deputy Defense Minister, the russian army is moving troops from the south towards Bakhmut to prevent the advance of the Ukrainian army. However, russian troops are not able to restrain the Defense Forces of Ukraine. She also states that the Armed Forces have to simultaneously defend and attack on several fronts. Over the previous week and a half, the Khortytsia unit had advanced more than three kilometers in the south.

Near Vuhledar in Donetsk oblast, Ukrainian troops managed to advance one kilometer into russian positions.

Positional battles are taking place near Bakhmut in Donetsk oblast, and the russian military is no longer actively pursuing an offensive. According to Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the most trained units of the russian federation – airborne troops – are operating on this section of the front. Compared to Wagner fighters, they are more cautious and less likely to attack.

Near the town of Bakhmut in Donetsk oblast, operators of one of the SSO units in cooperation with HIMARS destroyed two radar systems of the russian military. According to the unit’s soldiers, they destroyed russian equipment and almost all the soldiers who were near the RBM.

A volunteer from Mariupol helped rescue ten children, five adults and a dog from the flooded and occupied village of Oleshky in Kherson oblast. Dobrobat from Druzhkivka pumped out water from the house of a Bakhmut defender in Mykolaiv oblast.

 Ukrainian special operations forces captured three russian soldiers near Donetsk. One of them was a criminal convicted 6 times, who was recruited by the russian Defense Ministry for the war in Ukraine.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that in the morning, the russian army shelled Avdiivka and launched an airstrike on Toretsk. Seven people were wounded.

Towards Volnovakha, outbuildings were damaged in Novoukrainka of Vuhledar community, Maksymivka and Vuhledar were under fire.

Towards Donetsk, russian forces are shelling Yelizavetivka and Katerynivka in Maryinka community; at least 6 houses were damaged in Krasnohorivka.

Towards Horlivka, 2 industrial buildings in Niu York and 1 building in Nelipivka were damaged in Toretsk community. A lyceum and a church in Markove were damaged in Kostiantynivka community. In Chasiv Yar community, 1 house was damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, 1 person was killed in Pereizne of Zvanivka community – 7 houses were damaged.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration reports that russians killed 1 resident Pereizne. Three more people were wounded in the oblast over the day.

More than 20 modular shelters are planned to be installed in Kostiantynivka, and 8 of them are already on the streets. They are designed for 9 people and cost UAH 275 K each. The military administration is also planning to purchase 12 more larger shelters, each designed for 18 people.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy remains active in Luhansk oblast. Even when not attacking, russians still keep both our defenders and local residents in tension. Villages are constantly shelled, namely Novoselivske, Nevske, and Bilohorivka. 

In the temporarily occupied Luhansk oblast, the russian army has set up 10 additional military hospitals in Starobilsk and Svatove regions, expecting the number of wounded to increase due to the Ukrainian counteroffensive.

The occupiers have relocated 150 children from the temporarily occupied Starobilsk region of Luhansk oblast and 750 more are going to be displaced.

Luhansk Military Administration reports a mass death of the russian military waiting for the command. 

Residents of Lysychansk complain about the lack of utilities and medicines.

The enemy shelling never ceases, but every land attack by the russian occupiers ends in the failure of their forces and equipment, including the further advance of UKrainian units. Recently, the russians have begun to actively use Lancet kamikaze drones. However, Ukrainian defenders located the mini-airfield from which the invaders launched these drones and destroyed it. About 90 russian soldiers fled their positions within a week.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

The enemy is increasing tactical missile groups in the areas bordering Ukraine. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a division of the Bal coastal missile system has been relocated to Bryansk oblast, this increasing the threat of enemy strikes with Kh-35 missiles on targets in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv oblasts. 

Kyiv oblast

In Kyiv, representatives of the European Commission and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine agreed to cooperate. The agreement was signed by Margaritis Schinas, Vice-President of the European Commission, and Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine. In fact, it defines a roadmap for Ukraine’s cooperation with the EU in education and provides for a number of components that relate, in particular, to the safety of Ukrainian children and students studying abroad, and conditions for their return to Ukraine.

A media press tour was held in the village of Lypivka, Makariv region, during which a pyrotechnic and diving unit of the State Emergency Service examined the water reservoir and coastal area for explosive devices. The participants were shown the dangers of recreation on the water in settlements with active hostilities – 4 artillery shells and a grenade were removed from the water. Robotic systems, including surface and underwater drones, were used to inspect the water reservoir.

Kyiv Regional State Administration reported that a new modern modular ASC was opened in Ivankiv due to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, UNDP, the EU, and the Government of Canada.  It was opened on the territory of the Centre, whose premises were completely destroyed by a russian missile. From now on, 30 K residents of Ivankiv community can receive high-quality and accessible administrative services in a single location.

The course for elderly people, Life and Communication in Troubled Times. How to help an elderly person overcome stress and trauma without going crazy yourself was launched by Israeli artist and writer Oleksandr Halytskyi. It aims to help older people overcome the stress and trauma caused by the war and improve their quality of life.

According to the city council, Bucha plans to implement a pilot administrative service for military personnel and their families called I am a Veteran by the end of the summer. Administrative services will be provided for the military on a one-stop-shop basis at the Bucha ASC. The goal is to create a space where servicemen and women or their families can receive assistance quickly and efficiently in one place.

According to Kyiv City State Administration, 12 metro stations in the capital will host first aid training sessions on 16 June. Experienced specialists and instructors will teach first aid skills. Participants will learn how to deal with massive bleeding, airway obstruction, circulatory failure, and thermal burns.

Petro Olenych, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration for the Exercise of Self-Governing Powers in the Field of Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalisation, reported that Kyiv received the City Partner-2023 award at the Digital Enterprise Show, one of the leading events in the field of technology and digital transformation. This award is the result of the work of the Kyiv Digital team.

Zhytomyr oblast

Over 9 days, communities, public, charitable and religious organizations, foundations, volunteers, and active citizens of Zhytomyr oblast have delivered about 370 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the affected residents of Kherson oblast. Since the first days of the disaster, the focus has been on overcoming it and delivering the most necessary things – drinking water, motor pumps, pumps and hoses, rubber inflatable boats, food, clothing, hygiene products, and medicines.

The State Emergency Service reported that another evacuation train with nine internally displaced persons from the eastern oblasts of Ukraine has arrived in Berdychiv. Among them, there is one person and one child with a disability. At the station, people were able to rest, have a snack, talk to psychologists, and receive financial assistance from the government, after which they were taken to a place of temporary accommodation.

On the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day, forestry workers of Zhytomyr oblast donated blood, which is essential for both routine treatment and emergency care. The campaign is aimed at continuously replenishing the regional blood bank for the treatment of patients in medical institutions and military hospitals.

Sumy oblast

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on 14 June, Russians fired 19 times at border communities. There were 122 explosions. Bilopillia, Shalyhyne, Seredyno-Buda, Esman, Nova Sloboda, Putyvl, and Velyka Pysarivka communities were shelled. The enemy attacked with mortars, cannon artillery, and multiple rocket launchers, and fired three missiles from a helicopter. One person was injured and hospitalised as a result of shelling in Seredyno-Buda community. Two multi-storey buildings, 9 residential buildings, a shop, private cars, and non-residential buildings were damaged in the communities.

At night and in the morning, russians shelled Nova Sloboda, Bilopillia, and Yunakivka communities. The shelling of Bilopillia community damaged two private houses.

More than 3 K ordnance were removed by specialists from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit of Sumy National Police after a full-scale invasion. They have made 1,597 combat visits and inspected more than 4 K hectares of the oblast territory. The explosives experts also travel as part of consolidated units to Kharkiv and Kherson oblasts.

Volunteers of the Sumy Fairies unit weave helmet covers and protective nets. This camouflage gear is sent to Ukrainian soldiers at the front line. They raise money for the materials for weaving on their personal social media pages.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Guard Service reported border settlements of Krasniy Khutor, Yanzhulivka, Karpovychi, Prohres, Leonivka, and Halahanivka were shelled on 14 June. There were six attacks from various types of weapons in the oblast: 22 explosions of 120 mm and 82 mm mines, 6 explosions from artillery shells.

The russian military continues to shell the border of Chernihiv oblast. As of 13:00 on 15 June, the ‘North’ Operational Command recorded 6 uncontrolled aerial missile attacks from a helicopter near the villages of Yanzhulivka and Halahanivka, 7 attacks from cannon artillery near the village of Karpovychi, and 4 mortar attacks near the village of Yanzhulivka.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv RMA reported that Chernihiv oblast is among the top 5 oblasts with the largest number of unemployed people involved in the government’s Recovery Army project. More than 3,100 people have already joined the community service project.

The city council is considering the possibility of installing modular ground shelters in Chernihiv public places or preschools where there are no shelters. The decision on whether to purchase such shelters will be made by the city commission, which will inspect the city’s districts.

25 puppies, young and adult dogs and four kittens were brought to Pryluky by local animal volunteer Oleksandra Levchenko. These animals were evacuated from the flooded areas of Kherson oblast and settlements in the east where hostilities are ongoing. According to Oleksandra, it took almost a day to raise UAH 26 K from the residents of Pryluky to evacuate the animals. Now the affected animals will find shelter in new homes of local residents.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The russian forces fired three missiles, presumably Kh-101/555, at two industrial enterprises in Kryvyi Rih at dawn. Buildings, industrial workshops and equipment were destroyed. A gas pipeline was also damaged. A man was wounded in the shelling and taken to hospital.

The number of people injured in the russian attack on Kryvyi Rih on the night of  June 13 has risen to 40: 12 people killed and 40 wounded. There are currently 9 people in hospitals, all in grave condition.

Ukraine’s first Veteran Development Centre was opened in Dnipro. The training hub will provide defense personnel with knowledge of civilian professions. In July, a training course for veterans’ assistants will start to teach them communication skills with veterans and their families.

Vinnytsia oblast

One hundred children from Vinnytsia oblast from the families of heroes are going on holiday to the Lodz Voivodeship of the Republic of Poland. These are children whose parents are veterans who were killed, wounded, or went missing while defending Ukraine from the russian aggressor. For two weeks, the children will study, play sports, have fun and relax.

Kirovohrad oblast

A psychological hub for war victims was opened in Kropyvnytskyi. Free psychological assistance is provided to persons who are discharged or released from military service, war veterans, persons with special contributions to the homeland, family members of deceased war veterans, and internally displaced persons.

Poltava oblast

Poltava oblast sent 21 trucks with 420 tons of drinking water, boats, boat engines, motor pumps and hoses, life jackets and safety vests, lifebuoys, air heaters, and allocated UAH 10 million from the oblast budget to help Kherson oblast.

A photo exhibition Angels of Sport was opened in Poltava in memory of athletes who were killed in the war. The basis for the photo project was the requiem website of the Sports Committee of Ukraine, Angels of Sport. It now contains more than 200 stories, including those of children.

Cherkasy oblast

Support centers are planned to be opened for IDPs in Cherkasy oblast and an employment program is to be launched. Currently, 95 K IDPs live in the oblast, and more than 2,800 live in places of compact settlement, of which there are 63 in the oblast. The centers will provide social and psychological support services to internally displaced persons, veterans and their families, families of the deceased, children and youth, and plan to organize a rapid response team.

 

 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

During a visit to the Zaporizhzhia NPP on June 15, Rafael Grossi, IAEA Director General, said that ‘a number of measures’ have been taken to stabilize the situation at the russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine. IAEA inspectors will remain at the plant, but the signing of a document on the plant safety by Russia and Ukraine remains ‘unrealistic’ while both sides continue to fight. According to him, the situation at Zaporizhzhya NPP is ‘serious’ but the level of cooling water remains sufficient.

Ukrainian defenders have advanced 650 meters to 1.5 km in Zaporizhzhya oblast. 

Zaporizhzhia RMA reported that on June 14, the russian military shelled 17 settlements in the oblast: they launched a missile attack and attacked from the air, using UAVs, MLRS and artillery. A 58-year-old woman was killed as a result of the shelling.

In the oblast, the water level in the lower reaches of Dnipro HPP is 92 cm below the permissible level and is 13 meters 58 cm (the permissible level is 14 meters 50 cm). 

In total, since June 6, 2023, when the Kakhovka HPP was blown up, the water level has dropped by 3 meters 58 cm.

Mykolaiv oblast

On 14 June, at 11:51 and 13:06, the town of Ochakiv was shelled. The damage affected residential buildings, multi-storey residential buildings, and outbuildings. Also, yesterday, at 15:06, the enemy shelled the water area of Ochakiv community. Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that there were no casualties or damage.

Law enforcement officers of Mykolaiv oblast continue to support the population and do not stand aside, helping volunteers deliver humanitarian aid to the settlements that need it most. This time, foreign volunteers from Latvia, along with the NGO Unbreakable Community, collected aid and law enforcement officers delivered it to the residents of Ochakiv region.

Rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of flooding. 122 houses, vegetable gardens, wells, and basements in private households are flooded. Rescuers have evacuated 852 people from the flooded areas, 166 of whom are children. They have assisted 270 people.

Odesa oblast

The night of  June 14-15 was marked by prolonged air raid warnings and massive shelling. The russian invaders attacked the oblast with Iranian Shahed-136/131 attack drones. The air defense forces of the ‘South’ Operational Command shot down eleven drones. At the same time, soldiers from other components of the Defence Forces took down two more.

Today, state flags with mourning ribbons will be at half-mast on the buildings of executive bodies, utilities, institutions and organizations of Odesa City Council. Regardless of ownership, the city’s enterprises, institutions and organizations are advised to limit the use of music and entertainment.

As a result of the explosion of Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, there is a danger from mines and explosive devices laid on the beaches of the oblast. Therefore, the military and local authorities urge citizens of the oblast and residents of Odesa to refrain from visiting the beaches.

Odesa Zoo has taken in more than 200 animals from flooded settlements in Kherson oblast. Frogs, pythons, snakes, snails, turtles, raccoon dogs and even deer have found their temporary home in the facility.

Kherson oblast

According to a statement of the press service of the European Parliament on Thursday, from June 15, members of the European Parliament have adopted a resolution recognizing the aggressor state of Russia as guilty of a war crime for the June 6 bombing of Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, which caused flooding and ecocide in Ukraine.

The destruction of the Kakhovka dam on June 6, caused by the russian invasion, could lead to the leakage of chemicals, gas, oil and gasoline used in residential, agricultural, industrial and commercial premises into the water of the flooded areas. A Greenpeace study based on satellite data showed that oil refineries, gas stations, thermal power plants, and various warehouses were flooded. Even small amounts of these substances are enough to contaminate soil and water bodies. The aftermath for aquatic organisms in the Kakhovka Reservoir and the Dnipro River will be enormous. 

The State Emergency Service reported that as of 2 p.m., June 15, the water level in the Kherson region is 1.62 meters. 1,807 houses in 20 settlements on the right bank remain flooded. In the temporarily occupied territories, 17 settlements are flooded. The area of flooded agricultural land has decreased by 600 hectares. 

Holoprystan MA reported that the situation in the community remains critical. In the central part of Hola Prystan, the outflow of water has slowed down, in the eastern part – in some places it remains up to 30 centimeters. The city is without gas, electricity and water. All houses in the villages of Kardashynka and Kohany are flooded. 

The ‘South’ Operational  Command reported that at about 6 a.m., on June 15, the russian army struck Kherson. Two Kh-59 missiles were fired from tactical aircraft. An administrative building and an educational institution were destroyed. There were no casualties.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, the russian army fired on Zelenivka. A woman was killed and another was wounded in the attack.

The Regional Council held a meeting with representatives of the Let’s Help them Live Italian CF. Supporting Ukraine was discussed.

The RMA reported that the first Zakarpattia military officer received an interest-free loan for housing under the eOselia state program.

The RMA reported that over 1,2 K students from Zakarpattia took a course on the basics of cyber security from CRDF Global. They were able to learn how to take care of their digital hygiene and protect themselves on the Internet.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ruslan Martsinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, announced that 50 tonnes of humanitarian cargo were transferred from the city.

Lviv oblast

The RMA reported that Chervonohrad City Council signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Polish commune of Ksienzhpol regarding the Poland-Ukraine Cross-Border Cooperation Program.

Lviv’s Okhmatdit signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership with the American medical organization, Leap Global Missions. Cooperation implies even more unique reconstructive operations for Ukrainians in the future.

The construction of social housing for wounded IDPs will start in Lviv, providing 8 houses for 700 people. The European Commission allocated EUR 19.5 million in grant funds for the construction.

At night, two buses from Zaporizhzhia and Kherson arrived in Lviv oblast with people who decided to evacuate. These are mostly women with children. They were met and provided with help and information.

Kamianka-Buzka hospital received an electric generator, an ultrasound machine, medicines, rollators and food for children from the Johannitter German charity and the Michael Schafer and Christian Gallikowski CF.

Drohobych City Hospital No. 1 received a ventilator thanks to the Petralana Foundation and the sister city of Recklinghausen (Germany).

Rivne oblast

16 ambulances were sent to Rivne Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine. 13 CITROEN cars were purchased with state budget funds. Three more TOYOTA cars were donated by partners from the WHO European Regional Office. They are fully equipped with everything necessary to provide emergency medical care, and have modern equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers.

Ternopil oblast

On June 19, the Soul of Mariupol Theater photo exhibition will be opened in the Ukrainian House. The exposition will present archival photos: from the period from the opening of the Mariupol Drama Theater to the present, when only dilapidated walls remained from the building.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Energoatom sent humanitarian cargo, including unique equipment and machinery, namely, cars, computer equipment, optical and electronic devices, quadcopters, etc. to defenders from over ten military units.

13 mobile anti-drone complexes for special forces were sent from Khmelnytskyi. Ukrainian-made mobile anti-drone installations, the cost of one is almost UAH 160K. The complexes were purchased with taxpayer funds.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Kaimo Kuusko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine. They discussed assistance for IDPs, the possibility of building modular kindergartens in Bukovina in places where IDPs live compactly, etc.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that MiG-29 fighters from Slovakia and Poland are already in service with the Air Force.

Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, announced that Belgium allocated €3.5 million for the liquidation of the consequences of the explosion of Kakhovka HPP.
