Ukraine started negotiations with Romania on security guarantees. This is the 9th state with which such negotiations are conducted.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, arrived in Switzerland to take part in the Davos Forum, as well as hold talks with the country’s leaders. He also plans to discuss the return of Ukrainian children kidnapped by russia, sanctions and the search for mechanisms for the use of frozen russian assets, cooperation on humanitarian demining, financial support and reconstruction of Ukraine.

The United Nations asked donors to allocate $4.2 bln to support Ukrainian communities affected by the war and Ukrainian refugees during 2024. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, 14.6 mln Ukrainians, or 40% of the population, are in need of humanitarian assistance. The UN stated that 14.6 mln Ukrainians will need humanitarian aid this year. This is 40% of the population of Ukraine. The organization explained such assessments by the fact that every day in Ukraine, civilians either killed or injured. Russian forces are destroying Ukrainian homes and critical infrastructure facilities. Also, difficult weather conditions deteriorate the situation in winter. According to UN estimates, about 6.3 ml Ukrainians were forced to go abroad after the full-scale russian invasion.

Last December, 81 medical workers from 16 medical institutions from all over Ukraine took part in scientific events (conferences, congresses, congresses), educational events (internships, studies, trainings, seminars) and exchange of experience.
